With the new bond issue and restructuring of the stadium debt, Arsenal now have more to spend on players than anybody except Chelsea. But Arsene is not going to spend silly. Buffon is not likely, Casillas and/or Pele are more likely, especially if Buffon follows Capello to Madrid. Saviola is probable, Torres not- Arsene rates him but not at his post World Cup price. Cygan is not going back to France, he's going to Reading for an 'undisclosed' price- 500k.

Arsene gave Yaya a trial a few years ago, and even though he has improved greatly, and as much as he likes African players, he's not going to buy Yaya because he doesn't want half his first team gone every second January to the African Cup of Nations.

Saviola probable, Mexican Saclcido probable, but don't expect any sales, or even loans, until the January window. And you will see Ashley Cole rot on the bench before you see him at the bridge. My source is connected, but obviously doesn't have a crystal ball but I trust him. I also trust him when he says agents are steering players clear of Man U until Sir Alex is gone- aside from the fellow psychopath Rooney, who has he signed in the last two years?

First off Cesc fabregas is not going anywhere, he has just been given the number 4 shirt and has a deal that has five years left to run.

on the transfer front arsenal will sign, buffon for £8million (£8m left from vieira transfer)so in total £16m

arsenal will sign turkish wonderkid nuri Sahin for £5m plus mad jens.

Salcido will be a new cb if we cant get davies from west brom.

Arsen has put a £14m bid for javier Mascherano and Corinthians are mulling it over, failing his arival, yaya Toure will be brought in.

on the striker front Saviola is a big possibility being so cheap and having so much untapped potential, however depending on the serie a situation Arsene may bring in Daivd trez of zlatan.

Torres will not sing for arsenal

Nuri Sahin to the gunners for £5milliom

Gunners to sign saviola, mascherano abd salcido.

Ribery to lyon

Malouda to Manyoo to replace giggs.

liverpool to get pennant(peanut) for £4m

Heard a fairly strong rumour that could turn out to be true, on the day Rangers lost out on Elmannder, Jimmy Floydd rejected Celtic, Paul Le Guen said not to worry as other targets were being pursued, it is widely expected that he has made a move for JFH and offered him more money than what Celtic were prepared to offer, is JFH of to Castle GreySkull ???

By the way Gordon Strachan is desperate to sign Yaya Toure despite the huge transfer fee, thats why Celtic are despeate to offload Petrov and Maybe one other big Star, Boruc ??? Nakamura??? Maloney??? who knows but Arsene Wenger has definatley been keeping an eye on Boruc and Maloney and its no secret that Nakamura would be willing to move to spain if the right offer came in. Celtic would demand around £5M for all of these player easily funding a move for Toure but it is by no means certain that any of these players would want to leave celtic, Petrov apart, after signing new long term deals.

Right just to put the few peolple who have said Paul

McViegh will be leavin for free or 2500k is total rubbish he only recently sineged a new contract and would only go for over 1 mill. norwich might sell green, thorne, robinson, huges they are all mights no on else will go

While it is true that Arsenal will not buy any players that cost more than 15 million, this time they are willing to pay 20 million for torres but i doubt that will be enough. More players being linked are yaya toure, saviola and appiah, among which saviola deal is as good as done and yaya deal is 85% done as well, not much chance of getting appiah. Also AW will be looking for backup player for toure and senderos, expect only one defender to be bought that will possibly be salcido, if juve and milan do get relegated then expect arsenal to bid for buffon, cannavaro, nesta and kaka. That is the reason why AW has not yet spent big money, he will wait until the announcement of investigation is over.Youngsters such as sahin and merida will also be bought before the start of the season.

On Monday, Manchester United will finalise a move for goalkeeper Tomas Kuzcak from West Brom. This will pave the way for England stand-by Ben Foster to return to Watford on another season loan deal.

=v1=

Stewart Downing could complete an £8 million move to Tottenham in the next 2 weeks. With Davids poised to stay, Jol plans to team the aging Dutchman up with new signing Zakora in the centre whilst they have good cover in the middle by versatile Jenas and Tainio is also good cover. Lennon will take the place on the right.

The £14 million from Carrick to Man U will be spent on bringing in Downing or possibly Kewell or Duff and also Pascal Chimbonda or an alternate Right-back.

=v1=

There is a chance that Rafael Benitez will be allowed to break his record transfer fee this summer. His primary target is Daniel Alves for around £9 million and it seems he will still land the talented Brazilian from Seville. Alves would then be his solution to the right-wing because the idea is that eventually Paul Anderson would compete for that position and with Steve Finnan now 30, Alves could be his succesor at right-back. If Benitez does make a huge signing - don't rule out a move for either Simoa Sabrosa (£12m), David Villa (£17m) or Miroslav Klose (£12m) from Weder Bremen. Jermaine Pennant, Jermain Defoe, Darren Bent are very unlikely.

IT now seems Craig Bellamy will get the number 17 shirt unless Alves can't be signed and Benitez secures Joaquin who would then take that shirt. It is more likely that Benitez will get Villa than Joaquin however.

=v1=

Darren Bent will NOT be joining Newcastle, contrary to some of the posts on this site. He is interested to see what Dowie has to offer Charlton and plans to stay for another year before deciding whether to move on or not. Jimmy Floyd looks likely to join, though Bolton seem to be Charlton's only realistic competitor in getting his signature. The Sidwell deal has stalled now that Man City have tossed their hat in to the ring, as their wage offer is more than Charlton, but Charlton's transfer offer is higher that City's. An offer for a young Orient defender is also on the cards. Dowie to bring in at least two more strikers, three if he gets Jimmy Floyd, one from overseas (believed to be Kezman) and is trying to prize Rossi on loan from United, but this is looking unlikely.

West Ham and Bolton are intereseted in Victor Sánchez, former player of Real Madrid, Santander and Deportivo.

Reading

Reading will almost certainly buy a new keeper in the next few weeks, it will probly be either Oscar Ustari, David James or Richard Wright.

Reading will also sign 2 centre backs, most likely to be any tow of John Mensah, Matt Kilgallon, Calum Davenport or Bruno N'gotty.

With Sidwell leaving to Charlton for £2m Reading will need 2 more midfielders, Tom Huddlestone is a possibility, but wages could be a problem. Other midfielders Reading are targeting include Dean Whitehead, Pablo Orbaiz and Francisco Javier Yeste.

Reading will also sign a striker before the season and Akwa, Portillo, Guiza and Helder Postiga have all been linked with a move to the Madjeski.

Reading set to sign either Theo Walcott or Carlos Vela on loan from Arsenal for the season.

To the guy who said Nuri Sahin will sign for Man UTD "once a work permit application, has been successfully granted". Get your facts right before posting. He is German based with a German pass from Turkish origin: There is no visa or work permit required as he is EU registered. I really wonder where you people get your tosh from. Sahin is German born and follows: Yildiray Bastürk, Ümit Davala, Ilhan Mansiz and Hamit & Halil Altintop, to turn down the chance to play for Germany; instead opting to play for his parents´ place of birth. You have no clue and Chelsea have all but secured his signature.

ARSENAL NEWS

I have very good links in arsenal and i know for a fact they will sign yaya toure for 7mil saviola for 3mil buffon for 8 + viera debt nd mascherano for 13mil. cesc fabregas will be staying at the emirates but reyes, cygan, campbell and lehman will al be going

Celtic News

----------------

Kadlec met with Strachan on Monday and WILL sign for Celtic. Loose ends just require tidying up but the deal has been closed according to those in the know and Kadlec should be in Celtic colours before we depart for the states

Marco di vaio is another player being touted to celtic by his agent it appears Marco is looking for a move away from Valencia after the Spanish club loaned him to Monaco during the January transfer window marco has been linked with a move to PSG but the striker is thought to prefer the chance to play in britian and in the champions league. A similar 12-month loan deal to Celtic is on the cards for the 29 year-old Italian international striker and surprisingly enough a deal may be done in time for the Hoops visit to the States.

The visit to the states isnt all about publicity and money spinning either there are several players about to go under the microscope with three players from Chivas de Guadalajara are under serious consideration - Omar Bravo who some of you may remember scoring on the field at the World Cup in Germany. Bravo, is a top-class player and would cost around $2.5m The second of the trio is defender Hector Lopez who is regarded as hard as nails and takes no prisoners The third player goes by the nickname 'El Pajaro Humano The Human Bird is by all accounts a bit of a legend down in Acapulco and would fight Boruc for the numero uno position with Marshall departing down south on loan for a year.

Still in the States, Argentinian defender Facundu Erpen of DC United and Michael Parkhurst from New England Revolution will be viewed with interest

New signing's ( Various Clubs )

Walcott - Loan - Ranger's

Toni - £ 7 million - Newcastle , Liverpool

SWP will accept a year long loan deal at West Ham. Pardew is now happy with his defence and is looking for a natural right winger to give the midfield balance.

Firstly, I have said this before but I will say it again. When you post a rumour and you know that you have made it up, write it with a bit of class. Correct spelling, correct grammar and correct punctuation will make your rumour seem more truthful. Starting with Arsenal, Fernando Torres will not be joining 'The Grove'. Why? I Will not deny the fact that Arsenal have the available funds(Champions League run, Re-financing of the Stadium, Increaed Revenue....), it's just not going to happen.Has Wenger ever spent 25 million pounds or more on a player who has not fully proven himself? Secondly, Wenger is not desperate for a striker. He has got Henry, Adebayor, Reyes, Van Persie, Lupoli, Walcott.... why would he blow a chunk of his funds on a player who he truly doesn't need? Think people, think. Another reason why Torres wouldn't join is because Atletico Madrid simply don't like Arsenal after they stole Rosicky from under their noses. Let me explain. Atletico made a bid for Rosicky which was accepted by Dortmund. However it was a structured deal. Arsenal then added themselves to the equation and made a similar offer but were willing to pay the full amount all at once and i am sure you can figure the rest out. So Atletico aren't on good terms with the London club and wouldn't want their best player to go to them but rather to their close rivals e.g Man Utd. Onto my own club Manchester United. All this talk of Torres, Mascherano and Kerlon joining Arsenal is concerning me. If you can remember, it was Man Utd who were first interested and linked with Mascherano but now Arsenal fans have the nerve to link him to their own club. It was Man Utd who were first interested and linked to Torres but Arsenal fans have the nerve to link him to their club. But now suprisingly, It was Man Utd who were first interested and linked to Kerlon but some hopeful Gooners have the nerve to link him to their club. Is it me or do you notice a trend? Sir Alex has noted the fact that "Van the M

an" is a very immobile player. By that I mean, he cannot pick the ball from the halfway line and take it to the box and create a goal scoring opportunity in the way Rooney or Saha can. He however believes that Torres can so he is to pursue his interest in the forward. Expect to see the likes of Carrick and Mascherano and possibly Simao in our new kit next season. Regarding Ronaldo, he has found himslef in a fix he cannot get out of. He wants to join Real Madrid but unfortunately they, or rather, Fabio Capello doesn't. He is hatyed in England now and so sticking around in Manchester is a bad idea. The only other clubs interested are the likes of Valencia who cannot match Man Utd's asking price. All this talk of the Glazers not having money the to be able to fund all of Man UTd's transfers let me guarantee you of something. If the Glazers refuse to invest in the team, Man Utd will under perform and the Glazers revenue will decrease and they then will struggle to pay of the large debt incurred whilst buying the club. It doesn't take a Harvard Business graduate to figure that out. The money is there the only problem may be attracting the players themselves. Regarding Liverpool, Benitez is interested in David Villa but by spending the whole budget on him, it will simply mean that other areas of the pitch that need to be sorted will have to take second priority which may bring down the team as a whole. And ofcourse there is a that possibility that Villa may turn out to be a flop(Remember Morientes?Conquerer of Chelsea and Man Utd in the Champions league with Real Madrid but flop of the season) and Liverpool may end up having missed out on other top players who were sacrificed to bring in Villa. Thanks for reading. DRTRUTH

everton will turn thier attention to other foward after comfirmation that next week james mcfadden will join rangers for 2.5 million thier interest ended in jimmy f hasselbaink after his wage demand is to high and ahmed mido rejected uefa cup football with blackburn to prove himself at roma.so david moyes will turn his attention to benni McCARTHY and also looking at former ac milan and newcaslte flop jon dahl tomasson for competion for aj and beats and also expect moyes to take a tim cahill risk and sign steve sidwell from reading charlton are also interrested in sidwell but he would prefer a move to goodison park.

Expect Wigan Athletic to follow up the signing of Emile Heskey, buy signing 4 more players early next week. These players will be Nathan Ellington, Chris Kirkland, Danny Landzaat and Zoltan Gera. Wigan will also make an improved bid for Emmerson Boyce

Reading hard on heels of Owen Hargreaves, as Sidwell all but confirmed moving to the Valley. Royals facing competition for Villa, and Arsenal. Fee's are Sidwell 2.4, Hargreaves circa 5. Solid information.

Ok let me clear up this whole Italian Scandal. Juventus are likely to be the club with the most severe punnishment, they will likely be demoted to a lower league. Some players will want to leave such as Zambrotta and Emerson but only on a temp switch aka Real Madrid for a one year loan. Once Juventus are back in Serie A they will b challenging for the league aagin. Players who would leave on a permanent would be : Trezeguet (To Lyon Or Roma) Buffon (AC Milan Or Inter Or Barcelona) Ibrahamovich (Real Madrid) Camoneresi ( Bayern Munich Or Inter Milan)Players To Stay : Thuram, Cannavaro, Del Perio, Gianchedda. Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio will most likely get fines and thats about it.

Arsenal are very close to tying up deals for the following players. All 100% true.

Salcido - CB, 4m.

Mascherano - DM, 10m. (Should this fall through expect a bid to go in for Yaya Toure).

Saviola - Str, 2m.

and he will sign the following Youth players:

Fran Merida 1m.

Nuri Sahin 4m + Lehmann.(1st option after Rosicky deal)

Fernando Gago - 4m + More on apperances.

We are looking to sign a new Goalkeeper this summer but this deal is not as set in stone as the others we are looking at Buffon (which would be great) but it is more likely he will end up going to Real Madrid and we will get Casillias instead. We have also been linked with Torres but he is way overpriced.

Rangers:

Things have been a little slow since the great Paul Le Guen was unveiled on the marble steps of Ibrox. I cannot name my source but he works within the corridors of Ibrox Stadium & after seeing us secure Clement, Sionko & Svensson i assure you money is available & some spin has been in the media regarding this but hear this, these are our targets with plan B backup...

James McFadden, , Bojovic, Lee Wilkie, Sulley Muntari, Hetinga & Mark Yardley.

Ashley Young Gossip - He will not go Toon

Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham are looking at Ashley Young of Watford. Liverpool to allow Kewell to leave, Spurs to let Lennon leave, Blues to let Duff and SWP leave, United for Ronaldo if they can't get Lennon.

Wenger to raid U-21 talent of France and Holland from players that impressed at the U-21 Euro Championships---------

Wenger is looking at some France U-21 players like Jacques Faty (CB from Rennes)

Rio Mavuba (DM from Bordeaux(Next Tigana?))

Jimmy Briand (ST from Rennes)

Steve Mandana (GK from Le Havre)

The Rennes duo could go for 8 million pounds with Mavuba going for 5million pounds.

He is also looking at Holland U21 fullback Urby Emanuelson of Ajax if Ashley Cole leaves. Could go for 4 million pounds. Dutch RB Dwight Tiendalli could replace Lauren at Goonerland. Finally another Dutchmen in Ismail Aissati of PSV could join van Persie and Bergkamp who could stay as a coach for forwards.Ismail can replace Gilberto and paired with Fabregas and Diaby and Mavuba on the bench Ljunberg and Gilberto will go leaving Arsenal with a very young midfield that has experience on the flanks in Rosicky and Hleb.

Summary of Wenger's raid on U-21 talent is -

Jaques Faty for 8million

Jimmy Brian will come with Faty in the 8million deal. If he does not then Faty for just 3million

Mavuba for 5million pounds

Mandana for 3million and Lehmann will stay for a year while he gets experience and Buffon or Iker Cassilas will not be bought.

Urby Emanuelson for 4million pounds if Cole leaves.

Dwight Tiendalli for 3.5million pounds if Lauren leaves.

Ismail Assati for 6million pounds

Total 22.5million to 27.5 million for 6-7 players that will all be worth 5 times more later in their careers. Also Wenger knows he can't match Chelsea in the short term and Liverpool and Man U will also be very tough so his building a great team like the Man U team of the 90's.

Go gunners!!!!

If Fiorentina are not relegated, the look set to sign Klaas Jan Huntelaar. The young prolific Dutchman will be the replacement for Luca Toni who is definitely leaving the Italian club whatever happens this summer. Huntelaar will only sign, if Fiorentina are not relegated. If Fiorentina are relegated - they will look at Serie B for their striker.

=v1=

Aston Villa are to let Milan Baros leave to Hamburg or Schalke or Monaco next week for around £6.5 million. Blackburn are also interested in the Czech striker. David O'Leary is hoping to bring in Dutchman Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink on a free to replace Baros and partner him up with Luke Moore or Kevin Phillips.

=v1=

To all those who said LIVERPOOL have no money,, be real,,he was given 25mill to spend plus whatever he maid on outgoings, so far we sold moreientes(3.5), cheryu(1.5) barragan(1.7) and Whitehead (0.5) mill.. that equals 7.2 in,, and rafa has only spent 8.5 so far so that means he still has still got 23.7 mill left,, RAFA was hoping to buy both Alves for 10 and then sell Cisse for 8 which then left 21.7 mill (roughly). Which Rafa wanted to use to buy David Villa..... We can all only hope now as he will light up the PREM..... Can i just say that Chelsea are trying to buy the Prem again,, I just Hope Shevchenko carnt handle the prem like is old team mate Rebrov... And Gerrard and Man Utds Middle man ( whoever it is ) kicks the hell out of Ballack !Hopefully All goes well this Year and Chelsea Dont make the top four,,,,,,,,,,,, DuffBeer !!

News, emanating from Turkey suggest that, Manchester United's first summer signing will be, Turkish wonderkid, Nuri Sahin. United are close to agreeing a £6million pound fee with German Bundesliga club, Borussia Dortmund. The player, who is only 18, is regarded as one of Europe's top talents, and will sign a five year contract, once a work permit application, has been successfully granted. Both Arsenal and Chelsea have been acredited with interest, for the attacking midfielder in the past, but Manchester United have capitalized on the player's eagerness, to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney. The transfer, for the Borussia Dortmund star, should be officially confirmed by the end of next week.

Stilian Petrov will complete a medical at Fratton Park after Portsmouth and Celtic agree a fee for Redknapp to take the Bulgarian centre-midfield ace to the Premiership.

First of all, some of the people that put rumours on here, dont actually think, just random players linked with random clubs.

1st if all, Man Utd, the number one goal of united is to get a new central midfielder or two. They have already had a bid for Carrick turned down and Riquelme has pledged to stay with Villereal. I think united will get Portugal player Petit and the Udinese man Muntari. Me personaly i would like to see Carrick at united to better his chances of getting into the England starting 11, and this would sort out the problem of the holding role, which could see Lampard & Gerrard fighting for places unless Gerrard was played on the right were he will be very effective. But i fink SAF is waiting for the italy fixing trial to see whether to go for certain players, i think then he will go into the bidding. If not then i fink United will end up signing Hargreaves to add some bite in midfield, and will look to an attacking midfielder elsewhere.

Secondly, i dont see Arsenal signing anything other than a central defender and possibly a Central Midfielder. Curtis Davis would be a good addition to replace Campbell, but Senderos had a great world cup so Wenger may stick with him, and Djourou. I think Arsenal will go for Barton, because AW talked of him at one point last season, and Barton is currently unsettled or if Juventus get relegated, Old boy Viera may see himself return especially with news of Fabregeas going to madrid, although i dont want to believe it, Madrid is a very powerful team and have the ability to attract any player they want, so our wonderkid maybe gone.

Liverpool may get another striker to back up Crouch and Bellamy although they still have Fowler and Luis Garcia can play behind a striker. Also Liverpool want a Right Winger as that postion is in need of filling, i think possibly Simao who did not have a great world cup, so his price would not be heighten joaquin or last resort pennant maybe a possibility i expect at least one winger in, and it wont be Shaun Wright Phillips.

Chelsea, will go for phillip lahm, who has been the best left back at the world cup, I dont see cole at chelsea, he wont have much sucess as there are too many high profile players there, also AW would rather sell abroad than to a rival club, i expect Ashley Cole to stay at Arsenal, AW would not sell the best Left Back in the world!!

Newcastle i dotn think will get Beckham it is just rumours, Roeder stated he wants younger players and Becks is 31, also his wages would be too much. I expect Newcastle to get a striker. Either Dirk Kuyt or Defoe. Roeder knows Defoe well and after his season which cost him an Endland spot, he may want to leave spurs If not expect bids for many strikers as Newcastle may get desperate. I doubt Bent will end up at Newcastle because Iain Dowie will be very resiliant to sell.

Also Expect big things for Theo Walcott next season.

NEWCASTLE NEWS

Newcastle will probably buy darren bent in the next 2 weeks as well as Kuyt. Newcastle are also considering a move of van nistelrooy but bent and kuyt are the main and most probable targets. there is a small chance that they will buy or loan swp and there is a small chance of torres moving to st james park. David Beckham is not going to newcastle despite recent speculations from the press.

Players leaving Boumsong, Luque and faye.

To the RFC fans "disgruntled " at PLG's lack of a big signing - do not despair. My source is not a journalist or even employed by RFC but he plays a role assisting in the practicalities of helping new RFC players settle in to the West of Scotland - Rangers ( unlike Celtic ) take pride in putting everything in place for new arrivals which takes some preparation . My man has now been told to prepare for three big ones due to jet in immediately after the World Cup Final . All three will astound and one is quite simply the biggest name EVER to play in the SPL . No outside finance is being used and shirt sale profits ( sold to JJB ) are not a factor - this is simply a case of RFC reasserting themselves over Celtic whose headline signing this summer Jarosik will look very small beer in comparison to what is about to unfold south of the river. PLG is happy with the moves. a lot of Guff is printed about him wishing only to work with small time unknown players but reality is whilst he likes doing this he also wishes the challenge of working with big names too . Moreover as the Greek and Itlaian scandals are likely to catapult the mighty RFC back in to the CL next year he feels the side probably need them. No names no pact drill at this stage to protect my source but let me just say that the Italian scandal may just have helped make all of this possible . D Day is Wednesday 12th at 12 noon ( Press conference IP ) . Prepare to be amazed. Keep Believin '

i think that arsenal will sign yaya toure, salcido, salviola, masherano/schweinsteiger, mexes from roma when campbell leaves for pompey and buffon or dida or casillas.

i have seen a fax from real to manu for ronaldo with £7m plus baptista and robinho, while they will also include in the deal an option to sign woodgate for £4m. also man utd have sent offers out for simao, petit and deco. while they have also sent out an offer to milan incase of releagation for kaka for a years loan with an option of a £45m deal if milan fail to get back up of kaka wants to stay at man u.

PLYMOUTH ARGYLE are goiing to sign 5 players this week which include dean marney, junior agogo, marc bircham, and Stern John

arsenal will make big changes this summer as AW wants the Emerites stadium to close 06/07 with at least one major and one minor trophy.

-------------------------------------------------

Cesc has played his last game in the premiership as he is certain to leave arsenal with Madrid stepping up their efforts to sign him. Calderon's integrity is on the line having promised to sign him and will do anything to get his man. Barcelona are also interested in signing their former player and may let Iniesta go the other way.

Portsmouth are to offer £12.5 million for striker Yakubu from Middlesbrough. Gareth Southgate will consider making a £5 million profit on the player they signed from Pompey last year but is likely to want to hang on to the Nigerian after already letting Hasselbaink leave.

SWINDON NEWS - Dennis Wise is trying to bring Blackburn striker Matt Derbyshire in on a season long loan. The player who blackburn believe has great potential, has already shown what he can do in league 2 last season. Blackburn want to keep him for a couple of weeks of pre-season to access his development. Wise is also looking at a loan deal for a young chelsea defender.

Aston Villa boss David O'Leary wants to sign Rob Hulse to replace Milan Baros. He remains interested in Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink but feels that he will need to further add to Moore and Phillips. He may also sell Juan Pablo Angel and attempt to sign Gregan from Leeds as well.

Rangers are set to make two new signings which are young Lyon right back Alexandre Berthod and Toulouse midfielder Achille Emana. Emana was thought to be heading to the Premiership with Portsmouth his likely destination, although they have recently dropped their interest paving the way for a move to Rangers. Both players are expected to be tied up soon and will head to South Africa to meet up with the rest of the squad.

MANCHESTER UNITED NEWS

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is thought to be close to agreeing a deal to sign Turkish teenage sensation Nuri Sahin from Borussia Dortmund.

The 17-year-old has emerged as one of the finest young midfield players in the Bundesliga, and his goalscoring and playmaking have propelled him into the Turkish national team, where he has also excelled.

Although he is hardly a Roy Keane replacement, Sahin could provide some much-needed skill and craft to a United midfield that has seemed bereft of such qualities in recent months.

Dortmund are loath to lose a player of such quality, but their parlous financial state means that they may have to accept a bid that is lower than their valuation of the player, as they did in the case of Tomas Rosicky.

Rosicky joined Arsenal for a fee of around £7million, and reports suggest that United are looking to acquire Sahin for a similar amount.

MAN UNITED

With Zokora going Spurs, the door is open 4 Carrick to go to Old Trafford. If this doesnt happen then if Juve r relegated United will make a move for Stephen Appiah of Ghana, watch this space.

My mate works in the backroom staff at LFC and there are a whole host of rumours flying round at the moment, particularly on the subject of David Villa

He overhead some peop,e discussing the fact that when he signed for Valencia last season this was his second option and he really wanted to team up with rafa at LFc but we didn't have the funds. The deal was complicated but involved Valencia having an option on LFc's Cisse and Morientes, in exchange for LFc securing Villa if they met the £18 million asking price.

Valencia have taken up their option and now Rafa is working hard to get a right winger in for the £5 mil approx. left he has in the budget after his predicted outlay on Villa. This is why the Alves deal is goiung slowly, LFc are willing to pay the asking price but sevilla are unhappy with the way the deal is structured

Both Alves and Villa will arrive at Melwood in the next fortnight.

ps, the poster who thought he saw Wright- Phillips at the training ground was right, although it had nothing to do with him signing for us.
