Hi, i have some transfer news that Shaun Wright–Phillips and Peter Crouch will be joining liverpool. I personaly think that Wright–Phillips is making a good descision because Man city won't give him a place because they can't control their money and Crouch should be having a change of scenery because as a Man U fan I think Liverpool will become stronger than ever this season.(75)(37)

Newcastle United are rumoured to be interested in making a last gasp bid for Portsmouth attacking midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng. The former Tottenham man is currently a target for Serie A sides Genoa and Lazio but the south coast side is waiting to see which side is willing to offer most for the Ghana international so as to help ease their financial woes.(28)(29)

"The Old Trafford boss was at Craven Cottage on Saturday to watch a pre–season friendly between Fulham and the playmaker's club, Werder Bremen, to add to reports that he is preparing a bid for the World Cup ace.

But after United's 3–1 victory over Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday, Ferguson said that he was only in London on a scouting mission ahead of a Premier League trip to the banks of The Thames on 22nd August.

The Scot admits he is an admirer of Ozil, who has previously said that he would relish the opportunity to move to England, but he insists that he is happy with his current squad.

Asked about his trip to Fulham, Ferguson told Sky Sports 1: "I was there to look at Fulham.

"Ozil is interesting a lot of teams but at this moment I trust the ones I've got. I've got a really good squad of players.""

So.. When will United be signing Ozil?(36)(18)

My cousin just texted me. Says he's been talking to wba's james morrison. He said milner will be at city tomorrow and then villa will move for mcgeady who has been using sparyak interest to get villa moving. Don't know how he knows this or whether it's true.

Nottingham Forest will indeed sign Whittingham and Pratley this week, as Mark Arthur's clever statements have made it untenable for them to remain where they are. Despite both clubs wanting the positive PR of seemingly trying to keep hold of their stars, both players have made their representatives perfectly aware of how they feel, and it's those representatives, at the players' request, who have voiced their desire to Forest.

Tapping up by the way, is when you talk to a player without a club's permission, not when a players' representative volunteers a players' position on a possible move to a new club. It's exactly why the Fabregas saga rages on unpunished, Forest and Arthur have done nothing wrong, now get over it all you Swansea and Cardiff fans getting annoyed that your star players want to leave, and casting baseless accusations.(27)(13)

To all Man'ure fans

This is my 1st rumour so i'll tell you what i heard!

I have a good friend who is the cousin of 2 Man'ure players they are also brothers so you know who i'm talking about and he says that Ozil is seriously considering a move to Old Trafford. The reason being is that Bayern (his 1st choice) are not willing to pay what Werder Bremen want for him and apparently he's asking for to much wage's if Bayern agree a fee. Take what you want from this like i said it's just a rumour.

I really hope it is a rumour as he is a quality player and as you can see i support the greatest team in the history of English Football.

Blair Mayne YNWA(15)(12)

I posted this on Wed 4th August at 21.12!

Now i have been told by the same source that Ozil will sign for MAN'URE this week IF not then next week 100% (the reason old whiskey nose was at the Fulham game) as reported in the tabloids Saturday.

When this is Offically announced all you MAN'URE fans will BOW and pay HOMAGE to all us LFC fans who even know more about your Debt ridden, Prawn Sandwich eating and ON THE WAY DOWN CLUB than you do.

To the idiot who said Ricardo Quaresma would be heading to Liverpool, he has already signed for Besiktas so that's highly unlikely. Manchester United will not be making anymore signings, and despite all of the speculation surronding Oziel he will stay at Werder Bremen and see out his contract. No news on Liverpool as the takeover looks highly unlikely to be concluded before September. No i'm not Glen Johnsons best mate, or Rooneys butler or the Bird Crouchie has been doign the dirty with but i am currently studying Sports Journalism at University and have had work experience at many papers and a few clubs so i hear things and have credible sources, one being my tutor who is a very successful Sports Journalist. ARSENAL NEWS:

Pepe Reina going to Arsenal for 25 mil? Don't be stupid Wenger wouldn't even spend that on an outfield player, plus he has confidence in hes own keepers, if Arsenal were to sign a keeper it would be Igor Akinfeev of CSKA Moscow for around 15 mil, Arshavin is close mates with Igor and the keeper dreams of a move to Arsenal. All the toxic smoke which is flowing through moscow might effect the deal also.

Arsenal will sign another defender and it could be Zapata if Udinese will agree of a deal for around 13 mil which could be unlikely but possible. Arsenal will then look to Tasci or Spahic. I think Spahic could be a little more likely.

Arsenal won't sign more than 2 first team squad players, mayb a few younger talents.

Any deal involving Manchester City would have to involve a deal with Theo Walcott which will not happen. Walcott will step up the gear this season and start to play through the middle more often where he is natural.(68)(17)

I work at Manchester Airport and today Torino FC boarded a flight back to Turin, on the same flight was Mame Biram Diouf. Could just be coincidence or maybe a loan move? Also Kamil Zayatte flew to Paris.

Mame Biram Diouf is on loan at Blackburn and scored on his debut. . So it wasn't him. . Maybe you saw a young Michael Jackson. . Cha Mon'. . .!(15)(22)

Celtic will sign 1 or 2 of the following players

Bellamy (most likely if McGeady goes)
Koren (if he would would like to play in Scotland)
Joe hart (season loan deal if he does not get star at man city and given is tempting him into it)
Choppra (is not liking times at Cardiff because of their financial situation like a certain other club with no players to buy and having to sell to keep the bank happy but also because he would like to link up with Joe Ledly) and i doubt this next one but. .
Giovanni dos Santos (possibly a loan but i doubt it, but keane is trying to talk him into it.

To the person who wrote this – "08 Aug 2010 13:54:25
My mate just rang me and he is at the community shield and he said he spotted mesut ozil in one of the boxes, What is he doing there is anyone's guess.
I persume he could be signing for chelsea or man utd?"

Well, Ozil must have a double because he was at Werder Bremen's "Day Of The Fans" this afternoon. How do I know? Well, if you go to Werder's website, there is a video of the event you can watch (after registering). At precisely 1hr and 4 minutes in, the announcer introduces Ozil and he walks to the stage to join his team mates.

So if he is signing for United, it's not imminent.(22)(21)

 08 Aug 2010 19:19:24
"upson may be sold if he doesn't agree in principle to a new deal shortly, curtis davies will be lined up as a replacement if he goes (an enquirey has been made about samba but he will cost in excess of 10m so i doubt that will happen)"

Don't expect that. He's out injured and if he does become fit, he'll stay at Villa with both Cueller and Collins possibly out for the month (will definitely miss the first game) and Dunne is having a scan on his knee who also could miss the first game.(8)(9)

In reply to this:
"I love how people on here put definitive timelines on their nonsense to make it seem more believable. Ed can u please tell me the people on here that know what they are talking about? And info reaching me is that Oezil was definitely at Wembley. SAF at Craven Cottage and Oezil at Wembley. Almost a done deal then."

Ozil could not have been at Wembley as he was in Germany today for Bremen's fans day where the squad was introduced to the fans. The video is on Werder's website. I did find out from a source that SAF did indeed meet Werder officials at half–time yesterday to formally register interest. Expect a deal to be concluded in next 2 weeks(17)(6)

I'm the man who first advised Pepe Reina to Arsenal in a straight swap for Theo Walcott just after the World Cup ended. Taking a bit of stick from the uninformed but have noticed one or two people are now coming around to the message . . . and posting as if they knew first. As advised, Arsenal have upped the cash offer but Roy wants Theo in exchange! To the disappointed Pool fans. . . I know Pepe has signed a new 4 year deal BUT Rafa was in charge at the time. Faith was mutual between the two, however, Roy Hodgson believes his team need a pacey wideman more and is prepared to swap. As soon as Pepe realises his manager is prepared to sacrifice him, he'll want a move. Simples!

Also, the official Arsenal Web Site is carrying an article from Bacary Sagna saying Emir Spahic would be a good signing for Arsenal and he would be welcomed by the players. Why would the official site run this if there's no possibility of him coming?
What do you reckon ED? {editor's note – Reina has no interest in a move to Arsenal, it is utter rubbish, sorry to burst your bubble. I don't know about Spahic, does he play in the Bundesliga?}(6)(22)

Chelsea have loads of cover at right back; can't see any replacement (Srna or not) coming in at that position for Belletti!

Deco has now left the club and will be replaced. . .Chelsea shoud go for Ozil to play either wide right or at the tip of the 'diamond'!

If they do get Ozil here is the starting 11. .

'Southampton to spend money on new players in the next two weeks after a disappointing loss to Plymouth Argyle.
Expect signings next week.

SFC_RED_BOY'

Any idea who we are going to sign or who we are interested in?

–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

Matt Phillips should sign this week, for around £600,000.

Saints are looking Andros Townsend.

Saints are re–thinking a move for last seasons loan Papa Waigo N'Diaye. Probably another Season's Loan with option for Permanent.

Saints are to sign a Striker in the next two weeks. No information about who we're trying to sign.

Southampton may get a Couple of loans in this week. a CM and winger.

Southampton FC to finalise a number of deals this week

Papa N'Diyae Waigo to is to finally join Saints on a permanent contract from Fiorentina. The fact he's 50% owned by another Italian club has dragged the negotiations out. Fee thought to be in the region of £400K

Similarly Michail Antionio to finally join Saints on a permanent deal from Reading – for a fee around the £500K mark.

This will bring Saints back to full strength with all of the key players from last season back at St Mary's.

Saints are also hoping to sign Matt Phillips from Wycombe to add more pace to the team – something they sorely missed on Saturday at St Marys.

Saints are also interested in Adam Le Fondre form Rotherham to provide cover for Rickie Lambert.(19)(14)

Arsene Wenger is urgently looking into completing a deal for one of four Premier League targets before the transfer window slams shut leaving them with something of a threadbare defence. The Arsenal boss will look to put in a significant bid for one of the following Quartet: Fulham giant Brede Hangeland, Bolton's England hopeful Gary Cahill, Manchester City youngster Micah Richards and veteran West Ham man Matthew Upson.

Having failed to win the race for Everton centre back Phil Jagielka and German international Per Mertesacker the Emirates manager will now look to use his ample financial resources to complete the signing of at least one more defender to make up for the loss of experienced trio Sol Campbell, William Gallas and Mikel Silvestre.

Bolton appear to value Cahill in the region of a somewhat unrealistic £24m and Mark Hughes will fight tooth and nail to keep Norwegian international Brede Hangeland at Craven Cottage but Wenger will know that if they show interest in either then they could both have their head turned by the chance of a move to a bigger club and a shot at Champions League football, something that neither player have experienced before.

A third, and less likely option, is a move to bring back a former Gunner in the shape of Matthew Upson. The West Ham man did show signs of interest in a move to Manchester City last summer but was persuaded to stay at the east London side who then barely scrapped clear of the relegation zone.

Whilst Wenger doesn't usually look to bring in players over 30 he may well feel that the need to bring in another defensive option, and a reliable and experienced one like Upson, may make such a move worthwhile.

The final and perhaps most appealing target would be Manchester City's adaptable defender Micah Richards. Still just 22 the Eastlands man is by no means a first team regular but has ample experience in the top flight having notched up over 150 starts for City, however Roberto Mancini may well be keen to trim his squad and therefore could consider a sizeable bid for the England international.

With less than a week until the new season and after conceding five goals in their latest friendly in Poland Wenger knows he must do something fast to help prevent his leaky defence from costing them any hope of significant silverware this season.

Peter whitts wants to sign for forest.

source = Mark Auther.

The only problem is cardiff don't want to do a deal until they are 100% sure they can replace him.

Whitts does not want to leave, its all crap from a desperate CEO who cannot get anyone to sign for his side. Whitts and his partner are settled in Cardiff and will only leave if Cardiff want him to and from the comments below that does not seem to be the case.

See the information from the press conference before the CCFC v SUFC

"Cardiff have accused Championship rivals Nottingham Forest of attempting to unsettle midfielder Peter Whittingham.

Forest have had two bids for Whittingham turned down but chief executive Mark Arthur has claimed the 25–year–old, who is in the final year of his contract, wants to move to the City Ground.

But his comments have provoked an angry response from the Bluebirds, who insist Whittingham is not for sale and that they are in talks over a new deal.

City chief executive Gethin Jenkins said: "I would like to thank Mr Arthur for his interest in our football club, though would suggest that he direct his attention towards internal Nottingham Forest issues and problems than any blatant public attempts to unsettle members of our playing squad.

"We have already stated that we are intent on holding on to our best players in order to remain competitive in the Championship. Positive talks continue with Peter, as they do with other members of our squad, while we concentrate on starting the 2010/11 Championship season."

Hope you have better luck with Pratley!(14)(25)

Ozil's representatives are asking for wages and signing on fees almost as high as if he was free agent.

Ozil himself would ideally like a move to Barca, but with Barca setting their hearts on Cesc instead, it is unknown if they will come in for him. As of yet they haven't.

However my sources say Ozil is very much open to a move to Manchester United (Who knows if he see's it as a stepping stone).

Ferguson is being very stingy and trying to get a deal for around 9million which is putting the whole deal in jeapordy. However it still looks like this will go through eventually.(59)(31)

Walter said today that he has a budget that could buy 6 players but he would rather buy 3 of better qauliity. What his budget is i don't know . This was in an article in todays paper.

As for rangers reps flying over world to tie up deals it is true they left this morning ( sunday) expect something to be done before friday as walter feels he needs players before the spl kick off.

As for guidjohnson he was offered to us , celtic and every epl club we can't match his 40 k wages. Monaco just want him off there books and are trying all possible avenues

I wish all my fellow gers would stop spouting rubbish. We don't know who walter wants until the papers catch onto it.

As for alan smith he stated in an interview for rangers news and rangers .co.uk that his family are leeds fans and that he fell in love with rangers as a boy and they were his boyhood club and came up to watch when he could and that he still does. And his main ambition is to play in an old firm game wearing the blue of rangers.(40)(34)

Gers face losing massive cash injection

BANK SET TO TAKE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DOSH

Gers in Eidur Gudjohnsen KO
Ibrox side can't afford to finance loan deal for Monaco star.
Read
Ibrox dream dies

By Kenny MacDonald, 08/08/2010

RANGERS will land a £12million Champions League windfall after Celtic crashed out – but Ibrox boss Walter Smith won't see a penny of it.

Gers will pick up over £2m extra TV cash as Scotland's sole representatives, but Smith is resigned to Lloyds Banking Group taking that.

Lloyds are determined to claw back the Euro millions to help reduce Gers' crippling £31m debt.

Rangers won't get the UEFA cash until October, but under normal circumstances they'd have been able to raid the transfer market knowing the cash was coming.

But that has been blocked by Lloyds. The only way Smith will get any of the UEFA millions is if Gers make it through to the knockout phase. Smith would still hope for some cash if Gers dropped into the Europa League. They received a massive £11m from UEFA alone for their run to the 2008 UEFA Cup Final in Manchester.

An Ibrox insider said: "The management know that if the bank says it needs the money from the Champions League, they will get it.

"Getting all Scotland's cash entitlement from UEFA could give them a little bit of leeway if push came to shove.

"But if there's no European football after Christmas the money will definitely go to the bank."

Gers owner Sir David Murray has been trying to find a buyer for the SPL champions for over two years without success.

Smith, who has denied reports linking him with Dundee United's Craig Conway, admitted: "The money we have available would maybe bring in six players.

"But I'd prefer to bring in two or three at a better level and hope the younger boys in our squad help us out during the season.

"We've been trying to bring in new players, but so far we haven't been successful."

Gers still have funds to pursue Rapid Vienna star Nikica Jelavic, although the Austrian club want to keep the hitman for the Europa League play–offs against Aston Villa.

But Gers feel Rapid's asking price of £3.5m for a player who is out of contract next summer is too high and that may scupper the deal.

Gers currently have Honduran striker Georgie Welcome on trial at Ibrox.

But he is not allowed to play any games and Smith will have to decide on a deal based on his training stint at Murray Park.(28)(31)

 08 Aug 2010 16:58:33
No rumour, just a little bit of info on the Jelavic situation at present.

I got tuned into the strum graz v rapid vienna game via live internet stream and witnessed Jelavic score the second goal, which was very pleasing on the eye, it must be said. BUT as he celebrated his finish he removed his shirt and, as he raced away with his shirt in the air, he took a very awkward slip/trip and seems to have injured himself.

I don't know how serious it is as the commentary is foreign, but by the looks of it he's struggling, clutching the back of his left leg?

I very much hope this stupid act has not scuppered his chance to complete a transfer move to the Glorious Glasgow Rangers.

I assume this will be on the back of the papers tomorow morning no dowt, just need to wait and see what happens.

Cheers, Jamie. W.A.T.P(14)(32)

West Ham are in advanced talks to sign Ajax winger Miralem Sulejmani, he has announced himself that he will join West Ham on a 12 month loan. Avram Grant is also keen to sign a new back up goalkeeper, after taking several 'keepers on trial, he is considering offering a contract to Piet Velthuizen or Algerian goalie, Rais M'Bolhi. West Ham are also targeting an experienced left back as back up to Herita Ilunga. There should not be any more players coming in, except perhaps a last minute loan deal/free transfer on deadline day. Leaving the hammers will be Danny Gabbidon to Blackpool, Valon Behrami to Roma, Freddie Sears and Frank Nouble will be loaned out for the first 3 months of the season to Championship sides. Young goalkeeper, Peter Kurucz will sent out on loan to a league 1/2 side. Jonathan Spector is available for transfer however no sides have shown an intrest so far. West Ham Starting line up (4–3–3): Green, Dyer, Reid/Da Costa, Upson, Ilunga, Hitzlsperger, Parker, Noble, Faubert, Sulejmani, Cole, Barrera.

This is all well and good, but I'm not sure you are allowed to play with 12 players mate!(10)(19)

What utter bull that ozil will go to spurs and modric come to OT get real ozil could go to any club in europe so why would he let himself be used as a make way and that is no disrespect to spurs as they have proved they can build there own team and play great football.i think SAF going to match yesterday is typical mind games, he now knows that ozil will have been delighted that he came to watch him and he will put pressure on his club to lower price so united get him on cheap.I'v also heard that one of reasons SAF was down in london early is that he was visiting nicky hendersons racing yard to look at 2 horses he is putting into training and lambourn is not far from london so he stayed down. . OMG I said before the Huang and Kirdi bids came in that activity was increasing. Guess what I had no inside knowledge and just based on it on the fact meetings rooms had booked by that particular team

Does anyone here have an inside knowledge? A very select few do have it but they don't divulge it to anyone. Everything runs through Martin Broughton. He is the key player and the only person who knows whats TRUELY going on. I personally thought it involved possible refinancing of the LFC loans but I was wrong.

To repeat myself. Nobody apart from very select people know what is going on. Everything being said is just educated guesswork at best and mostly is pure fantasy.

With less than a week until the new season and after conceding five goals in their latest friendly in Poland Wenger knows he must do something fast to help prevent his leaky defence from costing them any hope of significant silverware this season.(14)(20)

Can you put a link to this as im sure bellamy never said that, did it not go more like:

Wales' Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy has told the BBC he could be playing for Cardiff City next season.

Cardiff–born Bellamy, who turns 31 in July, says if Manchester City let him go he would not move to another team in England or to a European league.

He told BBC World Service: "Playing anywhere else in Europe would be too much of a strain on my family because they do live in Cardiff.

"So it really limits me to maybe one place so that would probably be it."

Im sorry but there is no mention of celtic, so stop twisting stories to suit yourself(37)(24)

Pleticosa is about wrapped up.
Parker, ashley young, bellamy are all main targets with bellamy a banker. City waiting until we have played so he can't haunt them next week!

TO ALL THE BITTER CELTIC FANS:

Why say rangers can't afford this and can't afford that , Watty has round about £7,000,000 to spend on players , with a GUARENTEED minimum of £7, 100,000 to come from champions league , plus a bit extra for the tims failing to beat a poor braga side.

Reaching group stage: €3.8m
Participating in group stage: €550k per match, x6 matches = €3.3m

So that's €7.1m guaranteed, even if you lose every game 10–0. If you don't, then it's…

For a win: €800k
For a draw: €400k

Chris Eagles – Deal is not TOTALLY dead in the water, Rangers have freed up £95,000 in wages since he was in talks , so to offer a player 5 or 6k more isn't a problem.

Nikica Jelavic – Between Rangers and Everton for this guy , most likely to be rangers , and will be decided one way or another after todays league game.

George Welcome – Playing in a bounce game tomorrow and if he impresses , he will be signed on Tuesday.

Freddy Adu – NOT SIGNING AT ALL , DUNCE OF A PLAYER

David Goodwillie – Rangers to offer £2m and this offer will be reluctantly accepted , i myself would prefer Craig Conway.

2 African boys – NO DEALS

Davis leaving ? – NEVER , been a ger all his life and now that hes here , he will never leave unless forced to.

McCulloch leaving? – Already stated he wants to finish his career at Rangers , and his life–long ambition is to captain Glasgow Rangers. .

All you celtic fans seem to know a hell of alot about rangers finances . . Could this be due to the fact you are running scared already of signing 9 "WORLD CLASS" players and not winning a single thing?

Everton have bid 4.5mill for Jelavic, however he wants to go to Rangers but wants in excess of 20k a week which Rangers won't pay because of a pay structure agreed with the bank, so the EPL will probably be where he ends up, however he won't be sold until after the Villa games so he can be put in the transfer spotlight as Rapid want as much as they can get.

Ashley Young to Spurs for Keane plus money.

Ashley Young has stated publicly his appreciation for Martin O'neils trust and his thanks to the club. He has revealed he would happily sit down for negotiations over a new contract given the chance.

That chance will be given this coming week. A meeting is arranged for Wednesday, following training at Bodymoor Heath, where Young will be offered a new 4 year extension to his current deal at between 70–75K per week, this of course will be discussed and will make Young Villas highest earner.

Sources in Old Trafford have told me SAF's talks with Bremen went very well, only a couple of points need ironing out especially add on's etc based on future performances.

Expect a bid to go through in the coming days. Personal terms may become another sticking point however as the wage demands and signing on fee are excessive.'

I find it very hard to believe that 'wage demands and signing on fee' would be an issue! Ozil could quite easily see out his contract and then demand a fortune next summer (or his agent could), but the chance to play for United would surely be too big a pull to ruin by asking for 'City' style wages! He'll sign, probably on a 4 year deal for around 70k a week, much higher than he is currently on at Bremen!
This is not written in stone, as we all know, football is a funny old game, but hopefully it will be SAF chuckling to himself after capturing this signature!

Also, is there any truth that Defour has agreed to sign for United next summer, possibly Jan, dependant on hoe Hargreaves looks in Jan? Also, has SAF really got fed up with Anderson? I'd be inclined to let him go, poss on loan, as he has never really hit the form he showed when at Porto, and does appear to have a bit of a 'social problem' an we all know what SAF thinks of that! Your thoughts ladies and gentleman please!

E: walter smiths transfer budget is OBVIOUSLY SUBSTANTIALY BIGGER THAN HE'S MAKING OUT? are you for real? if he had a bigger budget than 5m he would've signed eagles. it was only an extra couple of grand on top, he would've signed jelavic by now its only an extra 500k both of these players were his big signings for the coming season. it doesn't even add up to an extra million. DELUDED. also to help you out read this mornings paper, hes not even getting the CL money. except it, 5m IS HIS BUDGET & THAT INCLUDES THE NEW CONTRACTS FOR WEIR & CAFU BROADFOOT :–/

Dont believe everything you read in the papers. Rangers have already offered £3.5m for Jevalec. I assume were going to pay him wages as well. so by your reconing that money if the deal goes ahead added to the money for weir and broadfoots new contracts will see Walter Smiths budget gone.
So we can disregaurd Walter Smiths assurances that there will be another 2 players at least other than Jelavic coming in the near future.(25)(28)

One thing needs to be cleared up Celtic are not going to be getting Bellamy on loan or as a signing he doesn't like playing in the scottish league and said he wants to keep playing in the premierleague and have a good euro opportunity so likely spurs, aston villa or fulham!
Keane wants to be back in spurs team, and said he didn't enjoy football at Celtic said the other teams in the league werent competitive enough.
Last one McFadden has said several times he will not go back to SPL ever!

Likely signings for Celtic are:
Jason Roberts as he wants to leave English league for new challenge, and he could easily dominate the SPL!

r u havin a laugh mate bellamy has already told lennon he would love 2 play 4 us he said he would not play in the premier league again so cardiff and celtic and considerin cardiff are more skint than rangers so i doubt he will b goin 2 them. and keano loveed his time at us i support spurs aswell so i don't mind were he plays but he did say "who knows i could be back one day"

Re:

'Milner deal to Man City to be concluded by Thursday with Stephen Ireland coming the other way (this will not be announced as an exchange as Ireland is unhappy to be devalued in this way, the deal will be a straight 27.5 million for Milner with Villa paying 9 million for Ireland)

Villa will then quickly wrap up deals for Robbie Keane from Spurs for 9 million and Aiden McGeady from Celtic for 8 million (celtic accepted a 9.5 million bid from Russia but had already agreed an 8 million move with Villa in principal as and when the Milner deal was completed.

Villa will also bring in new defensive cover, to be concluded on the final day of the window with Nedum Onuoha making the switch from City for a bargain basement price of 2 million. i think you need to look at what you write before sending it in why would clubs lose out on money just to sell to villa can't see celtic accepting £1.5 million less for mcgeady at the end of the day its a business and man city have just turned down £6 million bid for onuoha'

As stated, Celtic had agreed a deal in principal with the club long before the russians interest was confirmed. McGeady is unhappy at Celtic and would like to play in the premier league. The reason why he is now stalling on the foreign move is that he has been informed of the Villa interest which will only materialize once Villa have the money from the Milner sale, which unusually will be a single cash payment (a demand made by Aston Villa F.C). Celtic would could be playing a silly game if they decide not to sell at all and keep an unhappy player. This type of deal has happened before with Scott Carson Joining West Brom for 3.25 million after Villa were quoted 9 million for him.

The Onuoha deal would also include add ons depending on appearances and advancements. There have been no official bids for this player this summer and 6 million has never been suggested.

I can reveal this as I have a close relationship to someone inside Villa park although I am in no way willing to reveal what that relationship is. Watch and see. .(31)(25)

Everton have bid 4.5mill for Jelavic, however he wants to go to Rangers but wants in excess of 20k a week which Rangers won't pay because of a pay structure agreed with the bank, so the EPL will probably be where he ends up, however he won't be sold until after the Villa games so he can be put in the transfer spotlight as Rapid want as much as they can get.(17)(40)

Dont expect any signings at celtic fc until mcgeady saga completed, celtic fc are seen how much money they have to play with, lennon has targets if he doesn't leave this summer, and more expensive targets if he does leave. . . celtic fc have bids agreed with for 4 players in principal, awaiting extra funds to complete deals. as celtic fc would rather have more funds to bring in better quality of players into the club, expect a striker on loan for the year, possibly one midfielder who is very attacking minded and can score goals, one goal keeper of good quality, pacey attacking left back, and at this minute 2 quality center backs. . from a member of celtic fc?? in the know. . also expect a player for the number 7 jersey, and to those saying celtic fc pushing mcgeady out the door, utter rubbish, he is not and would never be, we don't do this at our club, we have advised him if he wishes to leave this year as he has stated, we would shake his hand and wish him well, 2 teams have put bids in for the player, one as you know spartak other i can't say, but expect mcgeady to be away, sometime this week as he is decided what to do with his advisors, and certainly not our advisors saying he must leave or never playing for us again, which is another story of weak variety. because if he doesn't leave then lennon would certainly be playing him. but i expect him to be leaving the club with good wishes and hope for from the future from our club many thanks and enjoy your sunday. . . . . . . . . . OLD FIRM NEWS:

CELTIC: Under Tony Mowbray Celtic could not defend and as such lost the SPL, Lennon has taken over the reigns and not bought anyone who can defend. I am not a manager but Rangers will win the SPL if Celtic do not strengthen this position (Even if they sign Bellamy and Keane up front). Stuart Baxter, Lennons advisor has told him this – expect a rift to develop if peroxide Lennon does not listen to the old boy. On the signing front Lennon is looking at St Ledger, but he has limited funds depending on the McGeady situation. If Aiden (one trick) McGeady leaves expect Lennon to bring in another 2 possibly 3 players. The only name I have heard is St Ledger.

RANGERS: Walter Smith is keen to add Jelavic as he beleives he will spearhead his attack. This deal will happen. The Danny Wilson money (2M) plus add ons will ensure this. George Welcome will not be offered a deal. Unless anyone else leaves Ibrox, then not much more will happen. Mphela, Kumalho and Benaloune are all possible if Rangers sell anyone else. The big news at Murray Park was that Freddy Adu wants to team up with Edu. This deal could happen as very little money would be required for a fee and wages. Adu was tipped for big things but his career has stalled at benfica.

Rangers line up:

GK: McGregor
RB: Whittaker CB:Weir/Webster CB:Bouggy LB: Papac
DM:McCulloch
LAM: Miller/Lafferty/Fleck CM:Davis CM: Edu RAM: Naisy/Adu
ST: Jelavic

3in a row here we go (easy) {editor's note – hasn't Edu left Rangers?}
(25) (60) Ed.. Edu played yesterday in the friendly against Newcastle.. definately not away. nor leaving since tompson left.

Strachan in great need of a goalkeeper, left–back and winger but cannot raise funds unttil the above 3 'players' are released and apart for Digard to Nice (nominal fee) this appears remote.

Ed any news on Sheffield united and kyle Bartley has he come back on loan ?

Has SAF spoke to Ozil since fulham game ? {editor's note – I don't have any news on Sheffield United, and I am quite certain no defender will be leaving Arsenal on loan or otherwise until a few are signed. As far as I know SAF hasn't spoken to Ozil since the match, but he wouldn't need to yet.}(34)(18)

ST: Jelavic

3in a row here we go (easy) {editor's note – hasn't Edu left Rangers?}(41)(82)

Ed any news on supposed takeover @ sheff 6, or is it yet more b@ll@cks from the board ? {editor's note – Sheffield 6? I have never heard of that before, I take it you mean Wednesday? If you do then no, it's not the board playing games, there is definitely an interested party, they have apparently been trying to get some Wednesday legends on board with the bid. But that is all I know about it.}(10)(11)

Blackpool to sign David Nugent and pair him with Cillian Sheridan of Celtic to form a strike partnership to keep Blackpool up this year. The Blackpool line–up for this season is as follows: Gilks, Eardley, Crainey, Kenneth(Dundee United), Baptiste, Southern, Wilson(Portmouth), Bryson(Kilmarnock), Adams, Nugent(Portmouth) and Sheridan(Celtic). A line–up capable of staying up! Harewood was looking for too high of a salary(16)(86)

Jason Roberts as he wants to leave English league for new challenge, and he could easily dominate the SPL!(23)(21)

Rangers scout Manchester United youngsters
Scout sent by Ibrox club to take in Manchester United XI against St Johnston.

Rangers bid to strengthen their squad for the new season continues after they had a Manchester United youth side watched in a friendly against St Johnstone. Sandy Jardine was in the stands as United beat the Perth side 3–2 in Alan Main's testimonial match.

STV Sport understands that Jardine was running the rule over United's young side in general but was paying particular attention to striker Joshua King. The 18 year–old played as a centre–forward and scored on Saturday but can also be deployed on the wing.

The side, coached by former United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, was packed with young talent and Jardine would have seen several players who have the potential to make an impact in the SPL.

Brazilian midfielder Rodrigo Possebon was a key figure in midfield and showed an appetite for the physical side of the game. Northern Ireland Under–21 midfielder Oliver Norwood is a set–piece specialist who has been described by senior team manager Nigel Worthington as "a genius".

However, it is believed that Norwegian 18–year old is the most likely target for Rangers. The powerful goalscorer was given a Premier League squad number by Sir Alex Ferguson last season but the signing of Javier Hernandez will have kept him well down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

United are unlikely to sanction a permanent transfer for any of their fledgling players as there are high hopes the current crop can step up to first team level. However, the club have a track record for placing promising players on loan to aid their development.

Paul Le Guen was successful in persuading United to send Phil Bardsley and Lee Martin to Ibrox on loan during his time in the club though the move did not work out for either party. Walter Smith is looking to bolster his threadbare squad without substantial transfer funds though and may attempt to persuade his old friend Ferguson that Champions League experience would benefit his youngsters.

King, in particular, would fill a gap in the Rangers squad due to his ability to play anywhere across the front line. Kris Boyd, Nacho Novo and DaMarcus Beasley all left Ibrox during the summer.

I believe you are talking bulls t about the possibility of joshua king to rangers as he has already went to preston on loan.(18)(68)

I never realised it was a racist term as such. Maybe it is time to move on and forget about how it was used back then though? After all word usage changes over time anyway. Or do you believe it is still being used as a racist term?}(22)(37)

Sources in Old Trafford have told me SAF's talks with Bremen went very well, only a couple of points need ironing out especially add on's etc based on future performances.

Expect a bid to go through in the coming days. Personal terms may become another sticking point however as the wage demands and signing on fee are excessive.(73)(31)

 07 Aug 2010 22:56:28
Lets stop all this speculation that Hatem Ben–Arfa will be joining Liverpool FC for 12m, first of all Marseille value him at 7m secondly if liverpool had 12m to spend on a winger then surely they would bag the superior Turan, fan and long term target.
Only 2–3 more signings as takeover will not happen this season and the Agueros and Turans etc. will have to wait until Jan or nex Summer.
Expect:
Loic Remy(11.5m)
Poulsen(4m)
New left back( Taiwo? Bridge? Salcido?)

Mascherano to leave for 24m and funds will be used on the transfers.(49)(43)

1. rangers will not sign gudjohnson as they don't have 60,000 per week for his wages
2.whoever said that the big french centre half will be signed for 2 million well funny that because he's been made available for just 800k after a move to newcastle fell through.
3.and the guy that said alan smith would never sign for rangers and that he's a leeds fan. . well this weeks rangers news would suggest his boyhood teams are rangers and leeds and in his own words rangers are one of the biggest clubs in the world.
4. celtic won't sign any big names like keane bellamy etc coz after there champions league exit the mcgeady transfer fee will be used to balance this seasons books.
5. jelovic will hopefully sign this week and maybe conway and i think that would probably be it untill january as kids seem to be the way forward for the club.

Glasgow rangers the pride of scotland

Friend at game today told the above, by someone connected. Bain definately wasnt at the game today. The gudjonson rumours are coming from the french media.
On a negative note i believe mccoist has been spotted in a glasgow nightclub tonight, but their are no flights out of glasgow to usa untill tomorrow. The jevalec deal looks very close.(32)(47)

Manchester United Transfer News:
Sir Alex Ferguson was in London today to watch Fulham play Weder Bremen in a pre–season freindly. He was there to cast an eye on Bremen and Germany World Cup star Mesut Ozil. The young German international has long been on Ferguson's radar and after his sparkling World Cup performances he has attratced the attention of the world's top clubs such as Arsenal and Real Madrid. Sir Alex spoke to a Werder Bremen official briefly and had a brief conversation with Ozil himself. Sir Alex has decided to move for the player now due to recent interest from Real Madrid. Manchester United have put in a bid of £15m which has been accepted by Bremen. Ozil will finalise his transfer to Manchester United next week. He will watch the Community Sheild tomorrow before having his medical and finalising personal terms early next week.
