United do not have 85m to spend, for a start you forgot to take away the Smalling fee of 10m! United will have some of the Ronaldo fee left plus there annual 20m but if you think they will have 85m then you need to see a doctor mate, but on the other hand you people saying United have zero funds available are also either mental or just bitter United haters?

United will probably have around 35m to spend, Fergie will want two players for that amount of dough, Rodwell is a priority of his, that is no secret, he also wants Defour & Di Maria, my guess is Di Maria & Rodwell will be in United shirts next season, possibly even Joe Cole but i reckon he will sign an extended contract with the Chavz!

Very interesting news for Liverpool fans. There is a lot of talk about who Benitez will sign in the summer but the truth is he won't be there to make summer signings. After spending the last 3–weeks working at the Melwood training ground I have been listening to some strong rumours that suggest he has been asked to secure key players on long term deals prior to his departure. By completing this task (Reina, Caragher, Mascherano) he will be paid the remainder of his contract. I hear that Hiddink is the favourite although not confirmed. Another bit of news is that while certain players are being tied to the club with improved contracts, 3 key players will be off–loaded in the summer. They are Aquillani, Glen Johnson and Benayoun. Aquillani just cannot settle, Glen Johnson will be sold after a good bid from Spurs (made in Jan) and Benayoun wants to leave for regular first team football. Me and my colleagues carry out regular maintenance work at Anfield and Melwood and pick up a lot of good info.

Liverpool are set to add to their capture of Leige striker Jovanovic by sealing a deal for Toulose's French international André–Pierre Gignac. The 24 year old 08/09 French Ligue 1 top scorer will seal a move to Anfield for £14 million before the World Cup.
English duo Ryan Shawcross and Michael Johnson are likely to seal moves to Liverpool from Stoke City and Man City respectively whilst Benitez is likely to add a winger.

Silvestre, senderos and merida out on frees. almunia and fabianski out for 3–4m each, eduardo may leave for about 9m, its either that or vela out on loan. other players to leave include randall, gilbert and evina.
in will come chamakh on a bosman, then either rob green, lloris or neuer for about 8–12m and mahmadou sakho/christian zapata for 11m. these three are wenger's priorities. if he feels the need, he may also sign a covering player for the DCM position. players like moussa sissoko and blaise matuidi are in the frame. having missed out on raheem sterling who signed for liverpool and hazard who signed a new contract with lille, wenger will target other youngsters such as adam matthews. sol campbell will be retained for another season. gallas will probably leave, meaning more gametimefor djourou. fabregas will stay. watch out for a surprise bid for lacine traore.

To the guy that said "Aquillani was signed for £5M plus add–ons". You are way off the mark. He was signed for €20M (€5M per year over 4 years with NO ADD ONS). I have been told that Juve wanted him but Roma refused to sell to a rival. Juve have offered €25M for him and it looks like he will sign for them in the summer.

Simon Kjær is quoted in Ekstra Bladet that he 'dreams' about Liverpool signing him, and 'dreams' about hooking up with Aggar at Liverpool. As such, he would reject the biggest clubs in Europe, which EB also claim are desperate to sign him. Moreover, he and his family are all Liverpool fans, and the 'Beatles–city' is his 'dream destination'.

Sounds a bit desperate to me. Very dreamy.

Top 4 rumours:
ARSENAL
Wenger has outlined what he needs to survive as title challengers for next season. Arsene believes that a new commanding centre–back, a goalkeeper and a good back–up striker is essential and will be first on his list before his usual horde of youth. The 3 players Wenger is interested in is really no secret. Goalkeeper is Rob Green, with Arsenal needing to strengthen their English contigency in the first team. Defender will be Brede Hangeland. Europe is an unlikely place for Fulham this season and Hangeland wants to be a regular in the prestigous competitions. Striker will be Marouane Chamakh with the Moroccan a keen admirer or Arsenal and likes their style of play. The prices will be £7m, £12m and a bosman respectively. Outs will see Almunia leave, with Fabianski and Mannone younger, for £6m, Silvestre for £4m, Senderos for £5m and Djourou for £2m, and that's just the defence. Midfield will see the sales of Nacer Barazite for £1.5m, Mark Randall for 500k, Diaby for £8m and strikers out will be Nicklas Bendtner for £7m. There is also the possibility of Cesc Fabregas leaving for Barcelona as we all know, but the decision is purely up to the player. If Cesc wants to go, Wenger will let him but will want £50m. His replacement will be Yohann Gourcuff for £28m.

CHELSEA
With the transfer ban lifted there is an expectance for big signings. What people need to remember though is that Ancelotti is the former AC Milan manager, the same team that had Costacurta and Maldini playing into their 40's, so age for him is no issue. Signings will come in though. Ancelotti has signalled his need for a new goalie after Hilario's dier performance against Man City, and a right–back. Belletti will be released while Paolo Ferreira will be sold for £6m. Hilario will also be sold for around £3m. The signings will be Christian Abbiati, a player he knows very well and gets on well with, while David Cortes of Getafe will be signed for £5m. Also the expected signing of Sergio Aguero will go through for £30m.

LIVERPOOL
Good news for Liverpool fans, the yanks are selling up. Who the new owners are I don't know, although I've heard a rumour that it is a 'good friend' of Tom Hicks, so not a good sign there. Either way money will be made available in the summer and Benitez has chosen a right–back, a centre–back an supporting striker and a out–and–out striker as the positions needing to be filled. Benitez is going for Carlos Andres Diogo of Zaragoza for RB at around £10m, Simon Kjaer for around £12m, Milan Jovanovic on a Bosman and the big signing of Gonzalo Higuain for around £26m. Naturally players will have to be sold to make up the funding for the 4 players (even though 1 is a free) so outs will be Martin Skrtel for £9m, with Benitez having little trust in him. Rafa will get 100% of this sale and is the direct transfer of Kjaer, so around £3m will be paid there. Alberto Aquilani will make the trip back to Italy for £25m, making a much more healthier profit than people will think. 50% of this transfer will go towards the kitty. Aquilani was signed you see, for £5m, with the other £15m as add–ons. With these add–ons incomplete during his stint it won't go through. £4m of the addons have though, so it is a profit of £16m. Of course the price tag has gone up now Liverpool have sorted his knee issue (or at least I think it was his knee???). Anyway they are the 2 big sales, although Nabil El Zhar, Krisztian Nemeth and Damien Plessis will both go for £1m, £6m and £4m respectively. Itandje will be released from his contract.

MAN UTD
As much as Man Utd fans don't want to admit it, they are the least financially secure team in the league (besides Portsmouth), therefore the owners have to go yet are refusing to go. I know little about the ongoings here, but I do know that Ferguson is a keen admirer of both Angel Di Maria and Wilson Palacios, although ther £18m and £20m price tags are a stumbling block for them.

In response to the Cardiff fan who asked questions before:

REALLY? OK, WHO IS THIS PERSON/PARTY THEN?

I can't say, but Peter Ridsdale has been in touch with HIM for a month or so. The guy is genuine and the money is there – and quite a lot of it too.

RIDSDALE AND A.N.OTHER – WHY ONLY TWO BOARD MEMBERS THOUGH?

Now, this is just guess–work on your behalf. Who says Ridsdale is leaving for sure? I don't know why two board members were mentioned – he (the investor) could want to bring his own people in and start a new board from scratch.

GREAT – JONES TIME IS UP ANYWAY. WHO IS THE NEW MANAGER LIKELY TO BE?

Ok, I'll play you on this one – Steve Coppell and Alan Curbishley were mentioned but I think it's unlikely that you'll see either move up the M4.

Also, one other name was recently linked with the Celtic job a while ago

WHAT IS 'SUBSTANTIAL' – FIGURES PLEASE.

We're talking over £20 million easily. Plus money for new players and to improve the academy/grass–roots.

OK – WHO ARE THESE NEW PLAYERS? DOES THIS MEAN WE WILL HAVE A NEW SQUAD FOR 2010/11? WHO HAS AGREED TO THESE SIGNINGS IF THE DEAL GOES THROUGH?

Players mentioned included Josh Thompson, Danny O'Dea, Charlie Austin, Craig Conway, Lewis Stevenson, Wayne Hennessey and a striker from Greece..Mitrilogu I think (pardon if spelling is wrong). Whether or not interest has dwindled in these players remains to be seen.

OK – NAME NAMES (Stadium Naming Rights). WE'RE OBVIOUSLY BUYING THE NAMING RIGHTS BACK FROM LANGSTON THEN.

I can't. Sorry, but if I mentioned the company the deal could fall through. Will say that the company is VERY well known in South Wales and that is all.

SOUNDS PROMISING, BUT UNTIL YOU ARE MORE FORTHCOMING ON THIS STORY I DON'T KNOW HOW SERIOUSLY TO TAKE YOU – NO DISRESPECT.

Ok, I understand your point of view.

WHO ARE YOU AND HOW DO YOU KNOW ALL OF THIS?

All I will say is that I am employed in a senior capacity at the club.

THANK CHRIST FOR THAT! (on Annis Abraham/Ben Steele)

I agree – Peter can't stand Annis and would ban him from the club 'in a heartbeat'. The less said about Ben Steele the better also.

OK, I'LL HAVE MY EYES PEELED. IF NOTHING HAPPENS BETWEEN MAY 1ST AND THE START OF AUGUST YOU ARE GOING TO LOOK VERY STUPID INDEED MY FRIEND.

I fancy my chances and the odds – remember, you as a fan do not know what is happening at the club (not meant in a critical way).

Peter is trying VERY hard to secure investment before the start of the new season. Administration is a last resort and we will hold it off for as long as possible for a number of reasons, the main one being that it will severely harm the chances of this investment happening.

The club realise that it is a very hard time for everybody – fans, players, staff, board members – but please bear with us. There is no alternative other than a quick return to the oblivion of lower league football. Do you want Cardiff to turn into Darlington – i.e. nice stadium but no fans and finishing lower than in 1996/97?

I would not have posted had I not been 100% sure that the investment was genuine and forthcoming. Yes, May/June is a while to wait but that's what's been agreed. 'We'll talk in the summer' is what I've heard.

Keep the faith!

'Mowbray will not lose his job in the summer, but he will have to sell before he buys. Out will be Boruc £4m Munich/Leverkeusen, McManus £1.5m Boro, McGeady £3m + McFadden Birmingham, Celtic will buy Nguemo for £1.5m, Wallace, Hearts £1.8m and Ramis £2.3m, David Marshall £1.8m and Keane on loan for a year £1m'

You are joking over David Marshall surely?

The Cardiff City 'keeper? He couldn't catch AIDS in the jungle mate! Besides got it on good authority he's off to one of Leeds, Portsmouth or Middlesbrough in the summer and not for £1.8m either – far far less than that (it's ok, not as if we'll miss him an average player at best).

This Andrew Ellis chap..(Rangers).says he is based in Guernsey.

Wonder if he knows Ben Steele or if he's involved (in which case Rangers will be duped like Southampton and Cardiff City were recently).

One rumour that I have heard is that Walter Smith & Sir Alex Ferguson may buy Rangers, thus Jose Mourinho will move to the red part of Manchester as opposed to the blue.

Ally McCoist would take over as manager and the new assistant manager would be Gordon Durie.

Both Smith and Ferguson are lifelong fans of Rangers, and would easily raise the capital in order to afford a buy–out from Sir David Murray. Plus, Sir David respects both Smith and Ferguson so negotiations would go smoothly.

Good news for Stockport fans:

The melrose consortium are buying the club.

Hopefully, this will bode well for next season and our future!

Celtic fan with a rangers link info???Crazy but true.I work with Billy Davies wife who can't help but tell us everything that goes off in the wee mans life. Hes not happy at notts forest because of the boards reluctance to back him.He is pinching one of the old buoys though and recruiting Lee Naylor for the rest of the season (which is probably how long he will last there unless forests owner backs him)And he hates that little alien earnshaw so much he would carry him to any part of britain to get rid of him!!Pity he knows nothing about Celtic because im fed up to my back teeth with the nonsense happening here!
