Ashley Williams is to complete his move to Arsenal within the next 2 weeks. Swansea looking at Toby Alderweireld of Ajax to replace him.

I think alderweireld is a little too expensive. He also stated in the media he will only join a top club (champions league chasing or in it now) and not a mid-table team, so that rules swansea out.

Sure I read that the two interested clubs weren't willing to spend a MINIMUM of 10m on him but could be wrong!

Swans won't be Be able to afford Negredo but if we did I'd be soooooo happy

Arsenal should let swansea keep Ashley Williams and just get Alderweireld

Swindon are looking into bringing in Graham Burke and Daniel Devine from Aston Villa on loan deals until January, which was were manager Kevin MacDonald worked as a youth coach. Burke is a promising young striker who impressed during Villa's winning NextGen team. Villa want him to gain some first team experience before releasing him into their own first team. Devine is a centre back. MacDonald thinks that he is an adequate replacement for Aden Flint who is departing for rivals Bristol City next week.

07 Jun 2013 22:41:22
devine from caley thistle you mean ex preston north end

Dan Devine is a CB whom I watched during the NextGen Series last season. Devine & Burkey have plenty of talent but the upcoming star is probably Jack Grealish & Michael Drennan. But Burke & Devine do need 1st team football to help their progression for sure!

No he means Daniel Devine from Aston Villa

You must be joking we can't afford a Greggs pasty let alone theese kind of wages

I have been corrected, Devine has been released & he is only an academy player but a talented one - he wouldn't be on high wages at all!

I am hearing Flint is done, and the club will be presenting him today or tomorrow.

07 Jun 2013 18:47:31
Amalfitano & Sako to Fulham will be announce on 1 July, both deals been known here in France for some time

They could very well be joined by Y. Mollo who has turned down a move to both Hoffenhiem & Norwich City & the whites are now favourite for the player.

Been very impressed with Fulham so far approach in the market very astute by mr jol

07 Jun 2013 19:02:39
Southend are set to lose the nucleus of their defensive players with Goalkeeper Paul Smith heading for Bradford, Ryan Creswell going to Chesterfield and Sean Colhessy signing for Rotherham or Port Vale. They are also trying to sign Britt Assombolonga on a season long loan but a host of league 1 clubs are interested and Watford want him to play at the highest standard possible.

Hang on. Southend were awful last season so why would the whole of their defence be in demand?

08 Jun 2013 08:11:13
Calvin Zola signing for Bradford City cover for
James Hanson

Zola will want first team football

Signing for port vale. Chance to play in higher league and doesn't have to travel very far

07 Jun 2013 18:55:32
Huddersfield town looking at bringing in free agent jerome Thomas

No chance! Town are looking abroad for young talent like michael van duinen fron den haag and young talent from the lower english leagues like jamie paterson from walsall

He's on way to Leeds town fan

I've heard we're after Dexter Blackstock from Forest

Also heard we are signing Adam Hammil, its not gary Roberts folks calm down

07 Jun 2013 18:53:53
Arsenal to sign Shaun Maloney and Kone from Wigan.

That' maloney, sorry, baloney!

He has more chance of winning a trophy at wigan

07 Jun 2013 18:52:47
Andrew Davies has signed a new contract at Bradford City.

True two years

07 Jun 2013 18:43:31
Millwall are reportedly interested in Murray Davidson (on a Bosman free) allowing at least one CM to be sold for a fee, with the incoming money being spent on goalscoring strikers.

08 Jun 2013 08:20:20
That's a positive move! Tuffey and Hasselbaink would be worth a punt too I reckon. Pawlett looked promising not long ago.

I recently watched Hibs V Hearts match and one player apart from Leigh Griffiths really stood out to me was Hearts French striker Christian Nade! I was impressed, but no doubt Steve Lomas knows all about him? Just a thought!

07 Jun 2013 18:41:23
Almunia will leave Watford as his contact runs out the replacement will be Marc Schwarzer on a free from Fulham as he said he was leaving as Fulham signed Maarten Sketlenburg from Roma this week also Abdi Pudil Anya Battochio will all make there deals perm this week or next week. Cassetti to sign on for one more year. Craig Forsyth (150k) Derby. Lee Hodson (50k) Brentford Lee Dickinson free Burnley. Sean Murray 750k Burnley

Almunia will stay for another season.

Even if he were to leave, Schwarzer would not replace him. Pawlowski from Udinese would be more likely.

I can only assume you mean Carl Dickinson.

I wouldn't sell Murray, send him out on loan to get first team football.

I'm sorry but Sean Murray won't leave for just 750k. He may have had a dreadful season but you wouldn't sell a player that young considering his debut season. Murray will push to regain fitness and pressure for a first team place in the future

Sean murray only 750k?
He is only 19 and will get a lot better

And he has just signed a 5 year deal. He is going nowhere

And he has just signed a 5 year deal. He is going nowhere

And he has just signed a 5 year deal. He is going nowhere

10 Jun 2013 09:55:05
Lee Hodson will not be bought by Brentford.
Didn't feauture much last season whilst on loan and wasn't very impressive either

Hodson will not raise £50k

Why would murray go to burnley? when big clubs have been interested in him for a few years

Hodson's better than 50k. I think Zola should give him a chance.

Why is there so much BS going around on this page? The Pozzos offered Murray a 5 year deal as soon as they bought the club. Apart the from the stuff about Abdi, Anya, Pudil and Battocchio re-signing, I am regarding all of this as the ramblings of someone who has gotten half his info from his imaginary friend, and the other half from his sock.

07 Jun 2013 18:38:04
Bristol City will sign young Brentford goalkeeper Simon Moore, Moore was disappointed in not gaining promotion with his current club Brenfrord after loosing the playoff final to Yeovil, and he sees Bristol City as a team who will challenge for promotion next season. -CH

Will cost a fair bit of money with a contract til 2016 and the first football league club to give him a chance

Simon Moore to Bristol City that's a good one Bristol City would be a sideward step, he's happy at Brentford has contract until 2016 he will only leave if a big offer comes in and he's play's regular football, also won't sign for a Premiership team just to sit on the bench.
Top goalie had a fab season last just gone.

I will grant you Bristol City are not exactly Real Madrid, but to claim Brentford is a sideways step is a giggle.

He would earn more, play in front of more fans, and have more security as Bristol City player.

It may be sideways in terms of the fact BCFC and Brentford are in the same league, but its deffinetly a step forward in a young mans career.

Moore to leave Brentford and sign for QPR along with Dean and Forrester

07 Jun 2013 17:55:02
Ex Aberdeen midfielder Rob Milsom has agreed a deal at Rotherham and will sign next week.

07 Jun 2013 17:31:07
If Matt Duke leaves for Northampton Town, Phil Parkinson will bring in Former Bristol City and Colchester United goalkeeper Dean Gerken. Gerken worked under Parkinson at Colchester and would be happy to play for him once again in League 1.

Gherkin just needs games, he had the making of a good young keeper at BCFC. Sadly he was torpedoed when we signed David James.

Why would duke drop down a division?

Because Duke doesn't play and he'll be 36 when the season starts!

07 Jun 2013 18:35:14
My dads mate is a swindon scout
The players he know about mind he wrote them down a lot okay maybe all of them won't happen but some will he said

Swindon ins
Adam Rooney Free
Danny Hollands Free
Nathan Byrne Free
John Bostock Free
Massimo Luongo Season long loan
Tounami Diaouraga Free
Clayton Donaldson
Tom Adeyemi Free
Ryan Mason Free
Michael Keane Free
Conor McAleny Free
Aaron Martin Free
Simon Church Free

May all of the might not happen but all true

07 Jun 2013 21:41:26
Well all of those would be amazing hope this isn't a lie and there is some truth here so we can build a side for a promotion push

That list is ridiculous. Most of those players have got championship teams looking at them. They're all too big for tin pot Rottenham. If they're really being scouted by Rotherham then they punching well above what you can get/afford

Where do Rotherham come into this
please explain?

Were is the money coming from to pay for the wages we need to start selling ourselfs to fund these

Tin pot Rotherham? Believe it says Swindon. The last four are only ones who haven't previously been mentioned. Also, Nathan Byrne has already signed permanently as has Adam Rooney, but the club are trying to negotiate down his wages as 8k a week was agreed by the old board.

Danny Hollands could very well sign for Swindon, but it won't be for free as he's still under contract.

07 Jun 2013 18:33:51
Davide astori booked to land in gatwick tomorrow and set to sign 10m deal at southampton.

Forgive me if i'm wrong. Wouldn't he fly to Southampton airport but the Astori transfer is rumored to be true. To be presented next Tuesday at the latest.

Southampton airport does not have direct flights to that area of Italy so gatwick would be the destination.

You can't get a flight from Italy to southampton. And I'm confident he wouldn't want to fly with flybe anyhoo

07 Jun 2013 23:49:56
Don't think astoi would traval on fly be lol {Ed003's Note - Why not ?,A well known player sat behind me on e**yjet once and was winding my toddlers up(git,I wanted them to sleep) lol.}

As much as I would love this to be true, he is with the Italy Squad, for a Friendly on Wednesday and then the Confederations Cup straight after in Brazil. Might have to wait until after that.

Ed003, out of interest, who was the player? {Ed003's Note - Ivan Campo}

07 Jun 2013 18:29:41
David fox has agreed to terminate his contract with ncfc, and will join boro on the 1st of July

08 Jun 2013 00:59:21
if boro want him it will cost money that's for sure. we won't let a quality player go for free, we're not a charity ya know

07 Jun 2013 18:17:17
Hoping Johnny Russell doesn't sign for Celtic!

What would you pick? Europe or Yeovil to play in next season? I know if I was Russell and I was told Celtic had match Derby's bid I'd be off to the hoops in a flash. Would really feel for Derby if he did now after agreeing terms and all that though

09 Jun 2013 01:05:22
have to be thinking, about better standard for champions league.

07 Jun 2013 17:57:59
Not happy with the lack of activity or information coming out of Motherwell. Lost Humphry, Randolph and Law on freedom of contract. Sold a player Ojamma who still contracted. Still waiting to hear from Higdon, Hateley and McFadden who are out of contract. First Euro game is in 8 weeks and we don't even have a 5 a side team.

Mccall and the board need to get there finger out

McCall to busy with Scotland ey!altho we r currently monitoring situation of 6players I hear faddy has offers from 4clubs altho he's keen 2play Europa next season, hately is off ski as far as I'm aware and the higdon situation is abit strange as Barnsley have offered him a deal but has failed to answer them

You got Humphrey "by the back door" anyway so you are losing nothing in his case.

07 Jun 2013 17:52:18
Darren Purse & Robbie Savage going to Newport County + David Healy will be signing for Plymouth Argyle, watch this space

CFORZAVERDEC23

Robbie savage or lily savage lol

07 Jun 2013 16:58:00
Bradford and Cheltenahm have agreed a compensation package for Marlon Pack and it is now over to BCAFC to offer him a contract and he could be a Bradford Player by the end of next week.

They are also in talks with Jacques Maghoma over a possible transfer as PP wants more strength in depth this season.

Hilario is also an option as backup to Super Jonny Mac as Matt Duke is leaving to join Northampton as Bothroyd admires the 36 year old keeper.

Simon Church is a transfer target aswell as he wants another striker as Andy Gray isn't good enough for conference never mind league 1, also Jon Stead is a target as he wants to move up north with his family.

Agreement has been reached between Bradford City and Bournemouth to bring striker Matthew Tubbs to the Yorkshire Club for a fee believed to be circa £300K with clauses etc.

07 Jun 2013 21:17:14
An important source down at Valley Parade has told me that an agreement has been reached (confirmation 1st July) between Bradford City and Bournemouth to bring striker Matthew Tubbs to the Yorkshire Club for a fee believed to be circa £300K with clauses etc.

08 Jun 2013 06:05:06
Hilario will not joining us think of the wages he'd want! He was on about 65k a week at Chelsea

08 Jun 2013 10:52:37
Hilario-us

07 Jun 2013 17:26:48
Dj Campbell set to sign with blackpool fc after his release from QPR

07 Jun 2013 22:09:44
I highly doubt it as he's not to fond of blackpool any more because one or two fans gave him grief on twitter. He'll probably join crystal palace or Ipswich instead.
Still, there's always hoping.

No chance get your money on Dj going to Palace or Watford

No chance his wages will be too big for us to afford. he was reportidly on 15k a week at QPR

How can his wages be too high. He's currently on £0 per week as he's a free agent. He's only worth as much as a club is willing to pay and I doubt he will get any offers over £10k and even that would be very generous. He's 31 and recently had some quite severe injuries so that won't bode well for him. Especially with the ffp starting to kick in. {Ed034's Note - he isn't a free agent until the end if June officially and you know what he means when he says about wages

Try £25k aweek but I rekon after 2 years of misery at QPR all be it on good money dJ's next move will not be money motivated

It will be money motivated as its his last chance for a big payday before he retires. He has always followed the money and kissed/bitten the badge

07 Jun 2013 17:15:58
Crystal Palace are said to be eyeing up a move for recently released Tottenham pair William Gallas and David Bentley.

Thomas Hitzlsperger, recently released from Everton is thought to have also attracted the attention of Ian Holloway as Palace look to bolster their squad for the new season.

07 Jun 2013 17:05:06
Hearing a lot about Capel, I want him at Norwich and I'm hearing rumours there's an agreed fee, any truth in this?

I certainly hope so, would be a great addition to the team. Plus seeing as he's got some chemistry with RVW, pilks might have to work harder for a first team position.

Nothing in it as yet

Capel would be good and it would show intent after signing RvW. It is the next step for Norwich to upgrade the team from £2mill players to £5mill players. Though must say I am a big fan of Pilks and this would put his place in jeopardy.

07 Jun 2013 16:09:38
After weeks of consideration, West Brom have made Diemeruci Mbokani and Ola Toivonen their main strike targets for the Summer.

Hate to say it but i'm hearing that the mbokani transfer is less and less likely, toiveronen probably will join, and also we have been priced out of any move for bony which was unlikely anyway. Mbokani is still a possibility but its going to be one or the other and toiveronen is the cheaper alternative

07 Jun 2013 16:06:23
West Ham want Darren Bent as a partner for Andy Carroll.

07 Jun 2013 16:03:47
Derby to sign Albert Adomah of Bristol City for £1. 5M and Nathan tyson going other way as well.

Derby keeper Adam Legdzins on verge of move to Fulham.

I can't see Derby offering that money, but Tyson is exactly what we need!

Bought steklenburg so don't need him

No, Fulham bought Stekelenburg, not Derby

I don't see City gambling on Tyson, and I really don't see AA going to Derby either.

07 Jun 2013 16:00:29
Arsenal have these 7 players on there watch list according to very a reliable source.
. Benteke - Arsenal are currently put off buy the high price but hope villa will drop there estimations once Benteke shows real intent to leave

. Ogbonna - The young centre back appeals to Wenger and he's been known to mention that he reminds him of a young Gallas or Toure

. Fellaini - Again the gunners are put off by price but feel he would more than likely fulfil the price they pay for him

. Kiebling - The striker wants consistent champions league football and after his breakthrough season could be on his way to the Emirates

. Villa - Would bring experience to Wengers side as well as an eye for goal and good assist to game ratio

. Wanyama - Are front runners for his signature according to the source but would prefer a slightly reduced price before making it official

. Cesar - Wants to say in the prem and has experience that the gunners believe could boost their defence

The same Ogbonna who is joining juve in the next couple of days??

Reduced price for wanyama? He's worth at least 15 million proven he can play against the best and when someone like Andrea pirlo says he has the potential to become one of the best midfielders ineurope you know he's got something special, yet players like zaha who is got but not proven against the elite go for 15 million easy. And villa saying benteke worth 40 million? Joke mate 14 tops so overrated.

Not enough for title

07 Jun 2013 16:53:24
Plymouth to offer a contract to free agent Calvin Zola

Already signed.

When will this be announced then?

Not true

07 Jun 2013 16:52:59
Brighton fans are going to have to wait until the first week of July for any announcements regarding Gus Poyet!

This will be a long June

It will be before july

That's too long, it stinks.

I just wish they would tell us what propely going on and we need to stop getting a load of old players and give are yound players more of a chance and also we have got rid of some good players through the years like tommy elphick and look how he's doing with bournemouth

07 Jun 2013 21:43:34
Get on with it we have our season tickets let us know what is going on

This has gone on long enough. Tony Bloom needs to sort this out now. All of the other championship clubs are buying and selling players while Brighton can't do anything.

07 Jun 2013 16:52:18
Marvin Morgan in talks with Bradford City. Phil Parkinson is keen to sign a back up to James Hanson.

Why do we need a back up for hanson, we have super andy gray?

Wells will stay, he said he would. Also is lester and Cardiff are the best he can do than he might as well stay with Bradford!

07 Jun 2013 16:43:55
From a sound source: Murray Davidson from St Johnstone will be holding talks with Millwall and following Steve Lomas to The Den. He was St Johnstone's top scorer last season, from a midfielder that can't be bad.

Don't get too excited.

Good player from what I've read on him. Might cost us a few quid though so can't see it happening but who knows. Might surprise us.

Cant be too bad? Haha! The guy has 14 goals in 124 games as an attacking midfielder that's pretty awful! Come on millwall! Better players please :)

07 Jun 2013 23:32:32
He wasnt saints top scorer. get your facts right. would cut the mustard for millwall

07 Jun 2013 16:37:28
Adriano Basso and Lee Camp will trial for Bristol City FC during Pre-Season

Camp won't play league one football {Ed034's Note - far to big headed for that

Basso! What planet you on?

I've heard this too

07 Jun 2013 16:31:36
Rotherham interested in released Bayern Munich winger/striker Dale Jennings, formerly of Tranmere.

They may be interested, but they will not get him, if he comes back to the country, he will play Championship level at least

07 Jun 2013 16:30:31
Reece brown considering rejoining oldham athletic after his release from Manchester United

Sincerely hope so.

I'll second that. Gaffers

As do I, very good when he was here, can play anywhere across the back line, would be a huge asset for us

I thought he was dire when we played coventry at BP last year, luckily for him we were useless though

07 Jun 2013 16:23:24
Celtic will make late bid for Johnny Russell after they missed out on Balde to Crystal Palace.

Would Santa Cruz not be worth chasing? Considering his lack of opportunity could be worth a discussion

07 Jun 2013 15:57:26
Danny simpson Franco di Santo and Chris Baird are being considered by WBA after they had all been confirmed as free agents on Friday afternoon.

07 Jun 2013 15:42:11
Yeovil interested in Chris Forrester from St Patricks in the Irish league

07 Jun 2013 15:45:34
wigan are looking to sign adam el abd from brighton for 500k

El-Abd hasn't signed a new contract yet. So they could sign him for free.

Brighton are in a lot of debt.
They are now a selling club.
Who will go next?

El abd won't go to wigan he is going to sign a new deal

He's a free agent

Brighton aren't in debt?

Brighton in a lot of dept lol now a selling club lol. its better to be thought a fool than to open you're mouth and remove all doubt.

Brighton had the 3rd lowest spend last year and we made the most money from games, bloom lost 3 mill that's it. What ever team you support obviously is bad and your jealous of where brighton is going and thee stadium - from a bourmouth fan.

Craig-Mackail Smith + Ulloa + Buckley + LuaLua + % of Bridge's & Upson wages + £93mil stadium etc. yes really low spenders.

Yes especially when CPFC's play-off winning squad cost less than £2.5mil!

Every club in England have got some sort of debt. Wheather it's millions or thousends.

Yeh well were not in debt because if were having plans to have a new trainning ground for about 30 mil were ovbiously in debt yehh nice one

Actually Brighton are £9m in debt and Tony Bloom is paying for the new training place in Lancing. Albion are in debt.

Cms Buckley and lua lua were all last year and only cost 4.5 mill together, ulloa cost 2 mill and we only payed 10% of bridges wages, every one else was free so tell me agian how the club it's self is in debt? Oh and cpfc had a 2 million pound sqaud. Yeah because there too poor and stingy to buy good players, that's why they will go straight back down to the championship

07 Jun 2013 15:33:34
crawley town fc are set to announce on tuesday 25th june the permanant signing of matt tubbs and loan signing of andy robinson from southampton

Both possible but how do you know this?

Hope so I like Robinson, he needs to get some 1st team experience though, would do well for you too

07 Jun 2013 15:29:11
millwall are set to announce on monday 20th june that neil harris is set to become assistant manager following the departure of kenny jacket and his backroom staff.

Although he is a Southend fan he has Millwall running through his blood and would be a good asset to Steve Lomas.

The backroom staff at Millwall are staying. Steve Lomas gas agreed to this. The board are increasing the amount of backroom staff.

07 Jun 2013 15:26:24
Calvin Zola and Scott wagstaff to tranmere rovers in the next few days. Both signing 2 year deals

No thanks and no thanks

07 Jun 2013 15:14:01
Huddersfield Town are interested in 35 year old goalkeeper Andy Marashall, who was recently released by Aston Villa. Marshall is seen as the ideal back up for current Town number 1 Alex Smithies

Were we signing two keepers - Marashall & Marshall - besides we already have a senior back up on staff - would have thought any additional keeper would have been younger - so doubt there is any truth in this one

Not sure on this, we still have Bennett on the books and a good young keeper in Allinson.

35? Town are after young talent. Highly doubt this

The question on all town fans lips at the moment, isn`t whether or not we need a 35 year old goalie, its will we ACTUALLY SIGN ANY player during close season, or will we mess up as of last close season, and not have learned anything from last season`s latter struggle to stay up.

Here here.

Only this time it might be a little more obvious to the powers that be that we need some strikers.

Like Dean Hoyle has indicated looks like its a season of season long loans> Maybe sign one or two players but that will be it with permanents

07 Jun 2013 15:12:09
Calvin Zola will sign on at Morecambe instead of bury

I would be amazed if there was a grain of truth in this rumour. His wages will be out of our reach.

Would be a good signing if we can afford his wages. Would have thought that many clubs will want to sign him if he decides to leave Burton.

Cant see this, if Burrow, McDonald, Haining decided to leave after being offered reduced terms to resign, then no way will Zola (who's still got a good few years left in him) play for that sort of money

We are all presuming he is on good money. Burton once played at our level so we are not sure what his current wages will be at his current club. You would presume he will be on good wages but not always.

07 Jun 2013 15:09:42
Alan Connell set to sign for Plymouth Argyle

Even though he has stated he is looking forward to playing in League 1 next season? Plus he is under contract, how much are you going to pay for him?

I'm not suggesting that he is signing for Argyle but surely league 2 is his level? Did he even make the starting XI for Bradford post Christmas? What chance has he got of making the XI in League 1?

I wouldn't want him at Argyle, you can keep him!

07 Jun 2013 15:09:18
David Goodwillie looks set to be staying in the championship with Blackpool interested in the young Scot.

Earlier in the week it looked as if he was heading back to Tannadice with Dundee United but wages seem to be a stumbling block for the SPL side.

He mustn't have heard the wages Karl Oyston pays. Once he does he'll be on his way back to Scotland.

Don't want him.

He had the chance with us before we got to the Premiership but he decided to take the money at Blackburn instead of signing perm for us.

Hasn't exactly set the world alight since has he.

League One or back over the border if he's lucky. We want players that want to play for the club and not just after a quick quid!!

I refer you to others that went for the coin and then dropped off the map.

Alan Gow springs to mind.

Then there's those that wanted to improve themselves like Tom Ince.

Enough said.

Actually it was the season after the prem that he didn't sign for us. It's the biggest bid Oyston's tabled in a long time. Your memory sucks balls.

07 Jun 2013 14:44:30
Brentford pleased to confirm signing of Mccormack from Swindon and will announce the news that Harry Forrester is to sign a new 3 year deal. No players will be leaving unless substantial fees are paid. Uwe Rosler is also tracking 2 young premier leagues stars with a view to taking them on a season long loan. Tom Adeymi will not be signing but Bradley Wright phillips has been offered a 2 year deal expect all anouncemenets to be made next week.

I am not going to name my sources but can assure you I have links within the club's palying staff

Kilmarnock talk with Gregg Wylde from Bolton Wanderers and Lionel Ainsworth from Rotherham United

07 Jun 2013 14:16:46
Bury have offered contracts to

Ben Parker
Calvin Zola
and Tom Soares if he signs he will be made captain.

Leeds to sign David Stockdale from Fulham after they have just signed Maarten Stekelenburg from Roma.

Can't see this happening

Fulham are looking for a back up as we have Stekelenburg as first choice and both Schwarzer and Stockdale so we need a second choice.

08 Jun 2013 12:13:55
Won't happen if Fulham stick to their supposed £4m asking price. If they lower it Stockdale will go to Hull as 1st choice.

Stockdale is a big leeds fan as is his wife and has said many times that he will be leeds gk in the coming yrs but not at £4mill.

Stockdale is a huddersfield fan

09 Jun 2013 22:32:36
A strong Fulham source has told me that Stockdale to Leeds would simply not happen due to other clubs showing interest in Stockdale and they are offering higher wages

Stockdale isn't a Leeds fan at all, plus he wants to go to Rio and championship football certainly won't get him there

Schwarzer could not be offered a contract so he would be a good signing. Ye he is old but he is still doing well in the prem so he would be a brilliant signing. He would be cheap aswell.

According to The Watford Observer interview with Scott Duxbury, who explained the transfer 'embargo': 'It is a Regulation 19 embargo which means we can sign players with the permission of the Football League and both parties accept we can build a competitive squad and we will be able to sign players. ' {Ed029's Note - That is correct.
So that should stop all those who claim that Watford will start next season with only a threadbare squad

That's exactly right Ed.

We'll be able to sign who we like and the FL will monitor the paperwork to make sure we know what we are doing. They don't have the power to block any transfers or signings or loans.

Everybody with a brain already knew that. It's just people who like to slate Watford who think that we're going to have a 14-man squad or some nonsense next season. Ignorance truly is bliss to some people.

07 Jun 2013 16:16:45
I hear from sources close to the football league, that a further rule change will be bought in this season.

Basically, if Watford perform too well, causing the more fashionable clubs to finish outside the playoffs, they will be deducted 15 points, because 'its not fair'.

I have impeccable sources {Ed034's Note - my source says your local shop has an offer on tissues. Thought they might come in handy for you

07 Jun 2013 19:04:35
Good one Ed. Very funny {Ed034's Note - ;-)

Ed I think he was being sarcastic. If Watford didn't do well this season, you really think the FL would step in and do something about international loan signings {Ed034's Note - what?? He was being sarcastic?? Well would you Adam and Eve it, I didn't realise....that was me being sarcastic too

07 Jun 2013 21:02:12
I really was not being sarcastic??

Ha great post about the new rule! I am sure there will be lots of moaning next season about all the players now signing permanent deals

Bournemouth have told Burnley they will pay a maximum of £4 million for Charlie Austin, they will not go higher and despite Burnley stating he will go to a Premier League club, if they cannot find a buyer, he could move back down south.

This is only a possibility because he wants to play Premier League football however he would also like to move down south and Burnley may let him go so they don't lose him for free next season

07 Jun 2013 15:48:20
Reading are in discussions with Burnley and would offer more.

Also in the South. ex-Reading youth and, unlike Bournemouth, have a credible chance of being in the Premier League come 2014-15.

Burnley came out the other day and stated they wanted 7. Do your research PAL.

They wouldn't sell to high flying Cardiff last season do this sound like bull! Red Smoke.

WBA has lost interest. There is no one else waiting in the wings at premier league level and Burnley need to sell him before next year so Yes its possible. If it happens Burnley supporters values of £7 million do make me laugh.

07 Jun 2013 18:36:54
It wasnt Burnley Supporters you goon, it was Burnley FC who said 7 million.

Bournemouth! What an absolute joke. What next, Trippier moving to Torquay?

You Burnley fans are persons the orignal poster did not say anything about your club not wanting 7m he was just stating the fact that Bournemouths max bid could be 4m. let's be honest if he is not signing a deal and doesn't go in the summer he will be a cheap buy in january or a free agent! Also Reading have no hope of the Premierleague with that muppet in charge!

I am WBA supporter and heard that we and others have lost interest in Charlie Austin following details of his court case.
If no premier league team comes in for him which now sounds likely then regardless of what team make a bid for him and its the higgest bid then Burnley won't have a chooce as he will walk for free next year.

Bournemouth are currently the higgest bidder but its nowhere near £7 mill Burnley wants

If he doesn't go this transfer window by january if burnley are in a good position in the league charlie might decide to stay at burnley you never know bournemouth fans! i'm sure he would love to have a crack at the premiership with burnley, after all he has already stated he is happy to stay at burnley unless a decent prem team comes knocking. So I doubt he will sign for bournemouth

Prem with burnley? Haven't laughed that hard for weeks! Thank you

Why not happened 4 year ago, put it this way there's more chance of him playing in the prem with burnley than there is with bournemouth you deluded lot, look at huddersfield, sheff wednesday last season all their fans were saying they would walk it and look what happened to them, they barely scraped staying up!

We at Bournemouth know our place and that's to stay up this season then establish ourselves in the championship. I'm pretty sure Dyche's objectives will not be for a promotion push

Stayed up though didn't they, I'd say that was a great achievement for a newly promoted club.

07 Jun 2013 13:20:25
Burnley to sign Sam Baldock and Albert Adomah for 2 million. John Eustace, Nyron Nosworthy, Richard Chaplow and Kevin Davies to sign on free transfers. Nick Powell also close to signing on season loan.

Nyron won't leave on a free, but john eustace might.

I take it you mean 2 million per player cause there's no way youll get both for 2 million.

You won't get adomah

Chaplow has another year on his contract so why would Saints let him go for free?

Why should Southampton let Chaplow go on a free?

Ermmmm. 25 man squad and the need to free up places within it for a start! Easiest way to get rid of those you no longer need and who you might struggle to get a fee for is to let them go for nothing.

After all- with the wealth of their owners its not like Southampton need the money.

07 Jun 2013 13:09:04
Michael Laudrup is being linked the Real Madrid vacancy. Michael Laudrup is set to quit as Swansea manager, despite the club's insistence he IS being backed over transfer targets.

I've also read fenerbahce have short listed him for there manager, won't be long before he goes, with big teams intrested in him, and willing give funds to spend, not just scrounge for bargains and freebies. Bye ML.

Fenerbahce? Don't make me laugh

I agree board don't spend but pocket the money and risk dropping us out of the Premier League. Why don't they back the manager you question his eye for a good player

Man city spend lots of money don't get them any where

Mike Phelan would be a good long shot replacement ~not that I want ML to leave.

I'm a swans fan and am a bit torn wether I'd rather him leave to be honest, taking a gamble and giving him the funds could be a bad move and flop as football goes. The club is ticking over nicely, very nicely actually so who knows :s just hurry and let us know yu munna

The person moaning about the Swansea Board not spending money was not around in 1986 when the club was almost liquidated from the results of overspending on players and repeated the experience 11 years ago. I was around then and do not ever wish to go through that experience again

Really come on its getting old now, Laudrup has stated he is staying at swansea and is happy, huw has said he's dissappointed with the bull from the press and there's a substantial sum of money for transfers

In Huw we trust, managers come and go the mighty Swans will live to fight another day, ;-)

FFS. Laudrup is just demanding that the board is keep the given promiisses and has asked the transfers to be done quickly, so he has all the squad to work with in the pre-season. There is a lot of work to be done with new players coming in.
But apparently the board wants to wait until they can get players on the cheap. Swansea have always done wisely in the transfer market, and that's fine, but it's very important to back the manager as well. A manger, who is only asking tor players to be signed WITHIN the budget. I understand Laudrup if he wants to put a bit presure on the board in order to get players signed as quickly as possible. How many times has Laudrup said that he wants to stay but everbody and the media are interpreting his presure in a wrong way. Laudrup has ambitions and wants to achieve the best result as possible for the club in the coming season. Laudrup knows it will be very difficult if we don't strenghten the squad with the right players. So far Laudruip has been a very modest spending manger and achieved great results within his buget, so please back the manager instead of slating him. I am afraid it will go rapidly go downhill, if he leaves just after one season. No need to let him go already, I think he has done a good job at Swansea City without spending crazy money.

I love the way we go around transfers, if its not broken, don't fix it!

Pablo cost 5 million the record signing at one time and he his puts in more bad than good displays. ml could have spent that on a younger winger or a striker instead of him. So perhaps the the boad have every reason to be reluctant to spend as of this.

Again, I go on about the media blowing stuff out of proportion. Laudrup probably isn't used to things moving so slowly but rest assured, the club will give him their full backing in getting who he wants if they want to be here - every previous manager has been treated with the same courtesy so it's not going to change now when the club has more money to spend than ever before.

I feel it's bit of a ploy that has backfired a bit. Laudrup wants things acted on quickly as he no doubt has a lot of work to do, plus, he wants players to know that if the club get in touch with them, he wants them there and what better way to do that than have a bit of media coverage?

The downside is the media has made a mountain over a molehill and selling clubs now know that Laudrup has plans for their players so they can ask for more money!

I've not worried about all this manager speculation since it's started and won't worry regardless of the outcome. As many say, in Huw we trust. He's a TRUE Jack who will not do ANYTHING and I re-iterate the ANYTHING, that will put the club at risk. Relegation for a small club like us is a reality and the club will want to ensure that if it does happen, we will have a realistic chance of getting back up and because we want need to sell players to balance books (but more likely because they'll want to keep competing at prem level), the chance will be a more realistic one.

Look at what's happened to Wolves this season, relegated from the championship (and to think we were gutted when De Vries left for them, same with Pratley and Bolton!)

ML dosn't want to put the club at risk, that's for sure. ML is a man of his word. He is only asking for the promised funds within the budget.
But it's clealy Laudrup is afraid that he is going to be badly let down by Huw. What Huw has promised Laudrup, noone will ever know. But it's my hope that they will get misunderstandings sorted out.

Stephen Henderson is in talks with Ipswich town
Ipswich and west ham have agreed a fee
so now down to the player to sort out terms with Ipswich

Don't get me wrong he's a decent keeper and wouldn't say no to seeing him back at town so hope this may be true (I doubt it thou) but prefer loach and think he deserves the no. 1 shirt so how likely is Henderson gone to want to play second best to loach from the bench

Henderson and Stearman the pair most needed

I can't see this. Henderson is a young promising keeper. loan maybe but Mick won't be forking out £500k+ on a second choice keeper.

Don't understand where your sources have come from, I can't find any evidence that Henderson has even been approached by McCarthy! I would love him to return to Town, but it seems unlikely the last I heard.

Good, fantastic keeper loach isn't good enough to be no1

That's the brilliance of big mick you rarely here about his signings until their done

07 Jun 2013 13:46:31
Hull city are to offer denilson a chance to stay in the prem following his release from arsenal, cska Moscow are also interested though

Hull are also going to offer 3 million for Curtis Davies with a player going the other way on loan, probably Tom cairney

Elmo, Austin and kasper to sign next week

Hobbs won't go he is the captain

Hobbs going mowhere - is part of a reasonable defence and wants to prove can hack the Prem

07 Jun 2013 13:44:11
ryan cresswell ex bury player want to return back home bury waiting for is contract to run out before signing him on a free.

Simon Mignolet to leave Sunderland for a fee of £8.5 million, signing for Arsenal. Sunderland are looking at a number of replacements and holding out as long as possible in hope of inflating the fee above the £10 million mark.

Cabral, Roberge, Ba and Diakite have already signed and will be announced at the end of the month.

Sunderland also in the hunt for a striker, with Livorno's Paulinho high on the target list. Although other cheaper options have been identified and.

Players set to leave:

Bardsley
Larsson
Gardner
Graham
Brown
Ji
Mignolet

Rumour has it here in glasgow that johnny Russell is at Ross Hall having a medical for celtic. Not gospel but it is doing the rounds up here?
Polcon

07 Jun 2013 16:17:36
This being Johnny Russell who is still in Tenerife? He doesn't get back until the weekend and is then in Derby sunday night ready for his medical Monday

07 Jun 2013 13:26:46
Both Dundee Utd striker Johnny Russell and Watford midfielder John Eustace are expected to agree contracts at Derby County on monday.

07 Jun 2013 16:16:53
Johnny Russell will sign Monday but Eustace was a target 2 summers ago not this summer

Forsyth, Eustace. So basically derby are signing our reserves!

Clough stated he is not planning to bring any midfielders in.

So Eustace signs on Monday. :-)

Russell Yes, Eustace No

You're missing out on Forsyth man! Solid left back.

Eustace isn't leaving Watford as he is out of contract in the Summer but hasn't been released which indicates that he will sign a new contract.

Derby = Watford B. This loophole has to be closed - second division clubs not producing English youth players is the only reason England will never win a world cup again.

Ah yes, the future of English football. Leave it to the cash strapped Championship to find a half decent Player with a catagory 2/3 acadamy and see who can stump up £150k to have him warm a reserve bench until being released into the lower leagues at the age of 21 with absolutely no match experience what so ever. Yup, we got it spot on.

Reports linking Al Ain forward Kembo-Ekoko to Reading Fc as an ideal replacement for Jimmy Kebe, who is likely to go to Norwich, Newcastle or West Ham. Have been linked to Kembo-Ekoko in the past and looks like a very talented player - Reading Fc Transfer Guru

He deserves to be signed just for having that name! class name! haha

Please say Kebe isn't coming to Norwich. He is so very poor. No where near prem standard. We've just signed van wolfswinkel

Can't see any sensible prem club going for kebe.

I'M a reading fan and kebe would be a good signing if he starts to try he just has a very poor work rate

Kembo-Ekoko is a brilliant player and would fit into the side really well

Kebe is quality he scored 5 goals from 7 shots this season and is fast and brillisnt just always injured

Kebe would be a terrible buy; not as good as we already have plus waste of £s. Hope this is not true

"Please say Kebe isn't coming to Norwich. He is so very poor. No where near prem standard. We've just signed van wolfswinkel"

Kebe is easily prem standard and definitely good enough for norwich, the only problem is keeping him fit.

08 Jun 2013 18:54:23
andy carroll will sign for west ham or stay at liverpool newcastle don't want andy carroll anymore thro

Every reading fan who spoke about Kebe being good. no. He is just awful.

Kembo-Ekoko's video on youtube looks amazing, he'd be a great signing for us! Definitely hope this rumour is true!

"Every reading fan who spoke about Kebe being good. no. He is just awful. "

I will certainly take the majority's view over yours. kebe is a good player whether you agree or not. Your comments smack of a person who's seen him only a few times.

Kebe is a good player when he wants to be. Come on, guys, I'm a Reading fan and even I will admit that I feel as though he doesn't put a consistent enough amount of effort to be of Premier League standard. When he's on form, he's our best player. But there are some games where I find myself screaming at him to DO SOMETHING!

07 Jun 2013 11:47:42
Any west brom news?

Where they after Chris Baird in Jan? He's been released by Fulham so thought that maybe WBA would offer him a contract.

Nothing imminent.

07 Jun 2013 12:06:54
Walsall set to sign Calvin Zola, Darren Carter, Scott Wagstaff and Cameron Belford

Wagstaff is rumoured to be in yeovil in talks at the moment!

Carter already signed 4 cheltenham

Who isn't going to sign Calvin Zola, I think there is a lot of wishful thinking going on

Pure guess work. Tosh mate

07 Jun 2013 11:54:37
Reading and QPR will go head-to-head to try and sign Wolves midfielder Jamie O'Hara. The 26-year-old midfielder played under QPR boss at Spurs, but is thought to favour a new challenge at Adkins' Reading. Wolves will let him go for £1.3m.

This is one of those head-to-heads where the team that gets the player loses.

I'll pay for him to go if anyone wants him!

07 Jun 2013 15:50:50
Reading aren't in for him.

At first I thought 1. 3 would be a bit cheap but then Wolves do need to get him off the books rather than buy his contract out. Best of luck to him wherever he ends up, he did try at Wolves but injuries hampered his progress. The boo boys didn't help either.

The sinner.

Over-rated and overpaid underperformer. no thanks.

^Sounds like Probrenyak.

Who the ****'s "Probrenyak. " Pogrebnyak on the other hand is a decent striker who didn't get a lot of decent chances last season, mostly from the lack of a decent midfield

I doubt reading want him we already have some average midfielders we need to get rid of first without buying another one.

07 Jun 2013 11:53:17
Cavani is in talks with Chelsea today.

07 Jun 2013 11:38:15

07 Jun 2013 11:37:48
Gregg Wylde a target for Bury, recently left Bolton and got along with Kevin Blackwell during his loan spell at Gigg Lane last season

07 Jun 2013 11:31:42
Aston Villa will sign bulgarian winger Alexandar Tonev, Ivelin Popov, Younes Belhanda, Dwight Gayle and Maynor Figueroa.

07 Jun 2013 11:28:09
I have heard, from someone around Leicester City, that LCFC and hull are in negotiation with a deal for Schmeichel on the way to Hull which would include Hobbs and Fryatt going the other way as part of the deal. The players were formally at LCFC during Pearsons first managerial stint at Leicester and he is keen on the players

07 Jun 2013 16:53:54
Highly unlikely that Hull will let Hobbs go, or that the player himself will want to go. Fryatt could be a possibility if Leicester want him

Fryatt not going other way. Bruce is keen to use him in Prem as he is a goal scorer we badly need. He is trying to secure an even better striker but not going to let Fryatt go. Much less Hobbs who has been fantastic for us this season. We have a fantastic defence which can hold its own in Prem so won't break it up.
They may agree on transfer fee around £3 mill which I heard from someone close (ish) to the club but I hesitate to say it is a done deal.

Hobbs is going nowhere mate, you're putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 here! Just because he managed them before does not mean they will leave premier league hull to go to Leicester who are going nowhere fast!

07 Jun 2013 11:25:59
Pne have offered ex striker Ricardo Fuller a 1 year deal the Jamaican is the ideal foil for recent signing Chris Humphrey.

07 Jun 2013 11:21:28
obafemi martins to norwich

Didnt he just move out to America? Sounders FC wasn't it? Red Smoke.

07 Jun 2013 13:25:08
Hope not

No no no no no we don't need or want him

No thanks

If Paul Smith Leaves Southend, For Middlesbrough, AFC Wimbledon, Mansfield Town Or York City, It Is Believed That Daniel Bentley Will Take The No. 1 Shirt If We Can't Find An Experienced Replacement For Smith.

If Blues Then Miss Out On Matt Duke As Smith's Replacement, Phil Brown Will Turn To Free Agent Alex Cisak Following His Release From Oldham.

Anyone know why Bouzanis tweeted congrats on signing a contract extension to CISAK yesterday?

Don't want another keeper use bentley and put chambers on the bench

07 Jun 2013 16:46:06
he changed his mind and signed a twelve month contract so oldham could sell him and get a fee for him, he still wants to leave as well.

07 Jun 2013 18:22:22
If Smithy does go why not use Bentley with Chambers as back up. Bents is worth giving a chance and Chambers did great with Concorde taking them to promotion while on loan. Spend the money elsewhere where it is really needed, stick with developing good youngsters!

The chron reported that he'd signed.

Because originally in the morning he was staying, but by the afternoon he had left, think the reason was that Johnson still told Cisak he would be no. 2 keeper.

Middlesbrough don't want smith due to other keepers at the club being more talented and younger

Because we had the option to sign him for another year as part of his contact. Which we did, hoping to get a fee. However Cisak mage it clear he wanted to leave so left by mutual consent. We tore up the contact basically

Latics decided not to take the 12 month option up after all and he left yesterday.

I can't see york paying that much dosh for a goalkeeper when we already have one of the best in the division. we need a proven striker that's what the money needs to be spent on

Shrewsbury Town news

Shrewsbury have joined a number of clubs in asking about the availability of John Cofie, the young Manchester Utd striker.

Shrewsbury have only one striker on the books following the departure of Marvin Morgan & loanee Asante and Shrews manager Graham Turner is therefore keen to bring in reinforcements before the start of preseason. Interest in Liam Boyce has cooled of late, with Hibs now favourite to secure the signature of the prolific Irish striker.

Meanwhile, a number of players will be joining Shrewsbury on trial preseason training. I've heard that 2 are non league strikers, one of whom is Anthony Malbon from Kidderminster.

Both decent players and Hilly loves ex-Bury players, they always play well in 'dales cup final. Sorry! I meant against Bury. Surprised Carra didn't get a new contract at Gigg Lane.

Why would Shrewsbury be asking about the availability of John Cofie? The lad was released by Manchester United and is now a free agent.

Colchester United have signed 18 year old right back, Mason Spence after his release from MK Dons. He has signed a one year deal.

Hes not 18

Yes he is. ?

This is not a rumour. This has actually happened. It has been on the Colchester website for a while.

He is 18

07 Jun 2013 18:22:54
I posted this before last season finished, the player himself announced it on twitter.

Only played one game for us (Dons). Thought he had an alright game but Robbo has his favourites

Not only has it not "just happened", if you read here some of us knew about this two months ago!

It was only confirmed recently though.

07 Jun 2013 10:07:49
Walsall will sign free agent Romaine Sawyers after being released from west brom

I'm not sure this will happen as I don't think he impressed in his loan period at the end of last season.

07 Jun 2013 10:06:28
Middlesbrough to sign 19 year old polish midfielder Piotr Zieliński on loan from udinese

You really think they would loan a player to a rival than their own team?

The pozzos would not allow a player to go on loan to a rival club than Watford.

If he's going on loan it's to watford or Granada, or a non-english team.

Yes please

2 were in play offs, a few in the cup. we have mcdonald who does about the same. why do we want another under acheiving striker?

We'll see.

07 Jun 2013 10:33:44
Luke Moore has agreed a deal in principle to sign a new contract at AFC Wimbledon. Both Neal Ardley and Luke Moore are on holiday but when they are both back they will complete the deal. This ends speculation the midfielder will sign for Newport County and Crawley respectively.

07 Jun 2013 17:24:40
Just heard crawley are hot on signing satchel watt who was released from arsenal on Friday deal looks likely to happen as watt has expressed desire to join crawley

Sanchez Watt I think you mean. He was with us two seasons ago. OK but not fantastic

07 Jun 2013 19:26:00
What we don't want is Watt. Failed to impress during his loan period last season.

09 Jun 2013 11:27:42
Heard about sanchez watt could be announced in a few days. Barker watched the striker twice last season and has expressed interest in signing him. Watt played for crawley the season befor last he is also a free transfer the kind barker wants. Please keep your eyes open because he will be signing very soon

10 Jun 2013 14:52:49
Just seen watt at crawley keep your eyes out as he will sign in next few days

brighton and hove albion are set to offer bournemouth 2million for matt tubbs in replacement for cms due to injury

07 Jun 2013 11:20:33
Bournemouth would snap your hand off Tubbs is a L2 player and this rumour is total nonsense no way is he good enough to play in the championship. This is a made up rumour.

He's not worth £2 million, but then again neither is CMS!

£2m for someone who isn't even a first choice player? Jesus, at least make it slightly believable

, I'd love it, both for Tubbs and for the club, he's blatantly not going to get a run out, but he'd get to stay local and 2mill would come in handy as long as we don't spend all of it on ex players

Matt tubbs ain't even worth 1m and he ain't got championship quality he is league 1 or league 2

Please take tubbs for 2 mill. He is awful

I would take him for £1 million pounds

Don't be silly

Matt Tubbs only played 6 times for Bournemouth during the 2012/13 season so why would Brighton want him?

But he isn't even a first choice striker for Bournemouth. More like £300k.

I will say Brighton are in a mess in terms of management, bloom does not want to spend much more cash from what I have heard they are pretty much looking at free agents only at the minute. The pay gaps between players has got out of control. We are seeing around ten first team players out of contract. Don't actually know who has signed and not. let's take young Adam gets paid nothing compared to other players on the team and he played more last season.

Brighton is a fantastic club, we need to keep players on sensible wages, and sort a manager out before players lose more faith in the club. I know vicente hardly played and took thing very literally about gus but he was pretty much right bout him, if gus loses his ego we could keep him but things need to be managed properly.

5-7m and he's yours got to woth that in size

07 Jun 2013 10:31:53
Pochettino is considering a move to bring former international team mate Pablo Aimar to Southampton. The 33 year old has just been released by Benfica.

That would be awesome! What a player! (I'm basing this on the 2005-2009 championship manager games) we could thro him on with 20 mins to go behind the strikers with an arrow going forwards!

I can't see this happening as Southampton mainly buy young players.

Too old for us, we are building a young squad to grow and develope together. That's a typical Redknapp signing, no thanks!

Never too old

I'd only really want to see that so he could join the coaching staff for Pochettino.

07 Jun 2013 10:20:55
The Shields Gazette and the Chronicle today reported that Andy Carroll is still holding out for a bid from Newcastle, and was disappointed that his former club haven't yet tried to bring him back to Tyneside.

Just as first thought. Carroll don;t wanna join WEST HAM

Steve Howard is set to stay at Hartlepool for next season. He now feels its the right time to come back to the club under Cooper.

After comments he made about hpool I wish him luck with that

He's absolute garbage! don't want him back!

rejected big from Fulham for gayle £2.5mill

He did ok in a team which got relegated but the fees quoted for this player are exactly the reason Prem teams shop abroad.

Mark Hughes targets junior hoilet and Garry hooper for stoke city

Hoilett good player and a good signing but Hooper a waste of money at 7mil

Get them both signed up

Not convinced over Hooper but it may be worth the gamble. Scoring goals in the SPL is one thing, scoring goals in The Prem is a completely different matter.

Well he's a better striker than naismith and he's done well since moving to the prem I think he would be a good signing

Norwich have placed a 4m bid in for shelves which is understandably going to be rejected by the reds, also a 5m bid for Diego capel has been accepted, deals will be pushed through for these two, and two others? by the end of the month

£4 million for shelves seems a bit expensive. Have they tried B and Q?

Can't possibly be true, they don't play for Leeds United!

Shelvey isn't worth anymore than 4m mate, what has he done? Barely had a sniff with liverpool.

That comment made me laugh

Well done and Thankyou for making my day a bit more enjoyable

Shelvey has better numbers than Hoolahan and is England U21. The CAM is crucial in playing 1 up top and has to deliver offensive numbers. Shelvey with less minutes than Hoolahan has the same assist numbers and 60% more goals based on the last 40 or so games plus Hoolahan (5 goals and 6 assist in 40 games) is 30 odd. I'd still like to see better than Shelvey however he fits the profile and also offers stronger defensive qualities too with proven prem ability. Liverpool have set a price of 8m on him which is a bit rich- City say 4m so it's down to the player to make this happen. If he wants it we'll get a price nearer 4m if he doesn't we should make like the Beatles and let it be, but I doubt we'd go much over 5m cash as better options exist elsewhere for this money. Some say Shelvey is nothing better than Championship standard. I'd disagree. The player needs games and has potential, a potential he'll only realise on the pitch. Expect a compromise based on appearances and sell on values. Norwich just need to sharpen their pencil a bit and we'll have a new CAM. Wes is pettier of course but Jonjo could also be a legend in yellow. Let's hope so. We'll need them both in any case.

Jonjo is a good player and I would like to see him at norwich wether he costs 4 mill or 8 mill

Why are teams like West ham looking at buying strikers from the championship. Rickie Lambert, Adam Le Fondre, Shane Long and Jay Rodriguez to name a few showed that they can still score goals in the Premier League. Why then do West ham not target the likes of Jordan Rhodes, Charlie Austin and Gary Hooper (all who know where the back of the net is and are all prolific) instead of spending Nearly £5m a year on Andy Carroll aswell as £15m up front.

What a stupid comment? Rickie Lambert, plays in the Prem. Shane Long? Plays in the Prem. Jay Rodriguez? Plays in the Prem. Adam Le Fondre, granted is now a Championship striker but has played in the Prem. haven't seen Jordan Rhodes in the Prem, haven't seen Charlie Austin nor Gary Hooper in the Prem either! Rather have a striker in that has played in the Prem.

07 Jun 2013 13:53:41
Think you're missing the point mate. The original poster is saying that the likes of Lambert and Rodriguez have proved that they can cut it in the Prem having made the step up from the Championship, so he feels that teams like West Ham should take a prolific Championship striker like Rhodes rather than gamble millions on Carroll. For my money I thin the OP is spot on - I'd eat my hat if Carroll outscored Rhodes over a PL season!

Tottally agree with you. As much as I do like Carroll. £100,000 a week play £15 mil is too much for someone who gets injured and doesn't score many goal. put it this way, players like wilshere/bale etc are on less than that. Austin and rhodes would score

07 Jun 2013 16:47:18
looks like the hammers are stuck with
carroll
nobody else wants him and his wage
demands
there is better out there

07 Jun 2013 18:15:39
As a Huddersfield fan I was gutted to see Rhodes go but understood he longer wanted to play for us. He would have been a good signing by West Ham as everyone questioned the £8 million we are due over several years for him when Blackburn bought him, as he wasn't proven in the Championship. Think Rhodes has proved his skill base now.

I think £15 million is a waste of money for Carroll.

Derby to move for winger Hal Robson Kanu from Reading.

We don't have 3 or 4 million for hom

Be a good signing if true

Yeah good luck with that. He's not a player you'll get for under 3million minimum.

Got the £5M it'll cost you? If HRK moves it'll be to Cardiff.

07 Jun 2013 09:48:08
Derby to move for winger Hal Robson Kanu from Reading.

No chance! He's only going to a prem team if at all. Adkins is a big fan of playing him just behind the forward. Has a big future

07 Jun 2013 15:53:40
He's a first team player at Reading.

They don't need to sell, but if he asked for a move would let him consider teams in the Premier League.

You're talking £4-5m - which Derby don't have.

Plus Derby don't have the luxury of Parachute payments and aren't likely to be challenging for the Premier League next season, unlike Reading.

Stupid rumour. Close and move on.

Don't ever take the Championship for granted. I'm sure Wolves were pretty confident about going straight back up too.

Errr dreadful rumour we can't afford him (derby fan)

Nothing to see move along.

If HRK's agent is his brother, he won't be going anywhere without a HUGE pay rise.

07 Jun 2013 22:12:35
you can have him on one condition, we get will hughes in return, but thatll never happen either

You're right, that won't happen. Because Hughes is worth more than him.

"You're right, that won't happen. Because Hughes is worth more than him. "

well that's a matter of opinion, both players still have a lot to prove but at this stage in their respective careers hughes is behind robson kanu and is in no way worth more.

Hang on is this guy actually saying Robson Kanu is worth more than Hughes.

He is 17
On a long term contract
Derby won't accept a small bid
He is English (always overvalued)
Extremely rare type of player
Interest from every club in the premier league
Barcelona created a personal dossier on him
2nd youngest ever player to represent the England under 21s, one behind Walcott if that is anything to go by.

"well that's a matter of opinion, both players still have a lot to prove but at this stage in their respective careers hughes is behind robson kanu and is in no way worth more. "

Whilst I agree Robson-Kanu is the better player (for now anyway), that doesn't mean he's worth more. Will Hughes is all about the potential and his age plays a big part in why he's worth more than HRK. Plus only of them has been linked with Barcelona ;)

Robeson KAnu is 7 years older then Hughes

Another wonderkid, just like pennant walcott, joe cole and whickam. All who although have at times been decent enough have but never quite lived up to their billing (if all the english so called wonderkids had what an england team we would have). Hughes still has a lot to show he's worth anywhere near what derby fans think he's worth.

Calm down dear. I think Hughes needs regular games. I think 'eventually' a club like Villa could be just the ticket for him. If he can reach the Prem with Derby (stop laughing at the back) then so much the better.

I also wonder what Soft Cell would have been like if David Pleat was on vocals instead of Marc Almond?

I had a dream that I was at an airport with Neil Lennon and a mate of his. I think in my dream I let the cat out of the bag about Derby signing Russell. Nice bloke Lennon in my dream but sorry Derby's need is greater. {Ed003's Note - You obviously have tainted love}

No way back for Poyet, OFFICIAL. All those who are hoping that Poyet< Bloom and Barber can settle their differences must accept that Poyet is history. Expect the situation to be resolved when Poyet returns from his overseas engagement. Once an amicable departure has been agreed the club will then be able to set about
appointing a replacement. Any talk of contracted players moving to other clubs is to be taken with a pinch of salt. Rumours of the club being in financial difficulties due to missing out on promotion to the Premiership are not true. NO NEED TO PANIC as the situation is in hand

Oxford United are to sign Left Back Callum Kennedy from Scunthorpe United on a free.

07 Jun 2013 10:46:47
Oxford like signing our ex players from Swindon they know quality when they see it.

07 Jun 2013 14:45:02
Weird how all of the ex Swindon players are so keen to join Oxford, whilst the Oxford players aren't so keen to join Swindon!

Wont be free as he's still in contract with us! so you will have to pay a fee.

08 Jun 2013 08:37:29
If there releasing him by paying him up to get him off thd wage bill there won't be a fee

Kennedy is a free transfer as Scunthorpe want him to leave to free up room for new players

No fee. Kennedy has asked to leave, to move back south. And Laws will need him off wage bill to bring someone else in.

Considering sources say they want him out, and have already said it will be a free transfer, its unlikely to change

07 Jun 2013 09:23:18
Bournemouth set to come back with a £1.3 million offer for Burnley forward Danny Ings after having an initial £1.1 million bid rejected earlier in the transfer window.

Burnley know that Austin is going to be sold in the current transfer window (£5 million or so I'd imagine!), that there's no guarantee that Martin Paterson will sign a new contract and that we could potentially have only Ings and Vokes as 1st team strikers come the start of August.

You really think that Burnley are going to see Ings unless a STUPID bid for him comes in (like £2 million or more!)? He may not be worth anything like that at present but the club will force somebody to pay a silly amount like that if they really want him.

Burnley will not let him leave as he is the only one in the side with promise and flair he just needs to know when to pass the ball! bournemouth would probably need to start the bidding at atleast 2 million for burnley to even think about selling!

07 Jun 2013 13:21:40
Ex-burnley striker John confie released by united,
Maybe worth a look

Burnley will not let howe leave ---> howe leaves
Swindon will not let Ritchie leave --> Ritchie leaves
Im not unrealistic fan but every time there is a substantial rumour (i. e reported in local press) 99% of the time a deal gets done

I think burnley will probably take it. The financial situation isn't any better there and I think they still owe Bournemouth money on the original deal so would be happy to wipe that out plus make a little profit

Burnley please ask for £2 million + for Ings.
Please keep him because We don't want him back and if you think Ings is back up when Austin goes then Burnley is in Big trouble come the start of the season

Burnley fc or any burnley fans did not say eddie howe wouldn't be leaving, in fact it was the opposite we were all shouting for him to do 1 because he was out of his depth in the championship, little man with a little voice

Went from play off contenders under Howe to relegation candidates under Dyche so shows how poor Howe was. He also brought the very average Charlie Austin for peanuts so proves what a poor manager he is lol

Play off contenders under howe? Are you having a laugh, the only time we was near the play off was in january and that was under dyche. We went on a 11game winless run under howe before he left cause people was already asking for him to go. Get it right

I find it funny how when Howe was at burnley he tried to sign all Bournemouth players and now he's at Bournemouth he wants to sign all burnley players. Shame he wasn't at Real Madrid!

They are all the same players he is trying to sign. This was a real weakness when Howe was at Burnley, he only seems capable of casting his net to cover those players he has previously worked with. There was no apparent strength in his ability to consider other players outside this scope. And given the Bournemouth buying BFC players scenario that keeps getting posted here it is apparent Eddie hasn't developed in this area. I wouldn't be so confident of a successful season if I was a Bournemouth fan.

Marvin Bartley and Charlie Austin are former players who are rubbish then?

07 Jun 2013 09:22:36
Peterborough Chairman Darragh McAnthony has turned down a bid of £1.5mill + add ons for striker Dwight Gayle from Norwich of all clubs. I know Aston Villa are keen on him and a couple others but Norwich? I think they'd need at least 3mill + add ons personally but this came as a surprise. Keep an eye on this one.

Would love it if we could get Gayle. I know we'll get the standard 'why buy players from Championship' moans but this guy is young, v. quick, can use both feet, comfortable on the ball and has an eye for a pass. needs a bit of work on his finishing but at 22/3 looks a great prospect to me and a bargain if we can get him for 2-3 mill. OTBC

3 million wouldn't be enough. It would take more than 5 million to sign him.

He would cost a lot more, Gayle has only been here for half a season and he is happy. He will only go if a stuipd offer came in and no side will pay big money like that for a player who has only had half a season in the Championship no matter how good it was

Yeah its not like we've raided Peterboro before or anything.

Villa have denied they want Gayle. They have instead gone for Popov & Belhanda

Don't think he is as good as the hype. 1.5m + add ons looks reasonable to me and the most that you should get for him.

Ok with the Gayle rumours. We paid 750k for him, and apparently agreed that the first 800k of any future deal would go to Dagenham. This was before he had played above league 2 level, and scored at a goal every other game in the championship. If he goes it will be for much more than 3m, as he has a long term contract and we don't need to sell. We're valuing him at £10m because we don't want/need to sell him

07 Jun 2013 18:24:13
MacAnthony has been quoted in the press and social media that Gayle is staying at Peterborough United unless silly money is offered like £10million

Norwich should push the boat out to sign Gayle even if they lend him back to the Champ. He's easily as good as Hooper if not better and just needs somewhere to prove it. Biggest no brainer of the year this one.

Gayle is amazing and would be worth every penny. Gives it his all every match and is really young. He has a great future ahead of him.

07 Jun 2013 09:20:03
West Ham to appraoch Celtic for Gary Hooper who Celtic value at £9m. If true it would be welcome alternative to Andy Carroll who, to be quite frank west ham need to stop chasing. Wish West ham would just forget him and move on instead of being held to ransom. Plenty of good strikers out there at the moment or are West Ham getting a very good deal on Carroll that they can't turn down (I suspect so).

Heard that Reading are after Hoops

07 Jun 2013 09:12:21
Rumour gathering sugesting Inter Milan interested in Andy Carroll. Would love this to be true and West Ham target another more prolific striker ie Bony, Rhodes, Bent, Hooper

Sad to see how far Inter have fallen if they're being linked with Carroll.

Source: agent x

i take it you mean Middlesborough why can't people put the name of the club or do we have to guess or do you mean Peterborough.

Cant see it to be honest, not a championship player, I have just come out of the blunsdon house hotel in swindon and John bostock was in there? wonder what all that is about.

Collins is unhappy at Swindon and has been for months, more likely he will sign for Wolves who have been watching him for a few months.

Adriano Basso will Train/Trial with Bristol City this pre-season with a view to earning a contract to become BCFCs number one next season

I don't see this happening, but he was loved at Ashton Gate.

SOD has come out to say his number 2 goal keeper for the year will be a youngster.

He would be an ideal 3rd choicereserve.

07 Jun 2013 16:39:06
Bit old now, 41 I think. Remember the last elderly goalkeeper we had. (Old butterfingers James ) let's remember Basso as he was and remember it was his choice to leave. Ida lovitt

41? He's 38 look on the keeper free agent list

His age doesn't really come in to it, the big issue is that he hasn't played since he left us. Few games here, few there, he is finished.

We don't want basso back as said above he's played 12 games since he left us we want an inform keeper preferable under 27

That's not going to happen sod is after young players with potential not players at the end of their career who have only played 12 games in two years

12 games in 4 years. The last manager to consider him a number 1 was Gary Johnson at Bristol City.

Any truth in STFC looking at Brentford Midfielders Tom Adeyemi, Toumani Diagouraga and Striker Clayton Donaldson?

IMO Diagouraga you can keep and yes please to the other two.

I watched around 25 games last season for STFC and Clayton Donaldson was IMO the best striker we played against. But in that same breath I'd say Brentford were the best team we played by a country mile, that said we put 6 goals past Yeovil and look where they are!

07 Jun 2013 10:50:07
That story is a red herring no way will any of those players will sign for stfc.

Donaldson is a cheat especially when he gets kicked on the leg and goes down holding his face. The bloke is always diving and moaning.

I don't want him at STFC and no way would we get him anyway as he's under contract.

The claim that Donaldson is a cheat is a red herring. You would bite our hand off if Donaldson was offered to you

That's the funniest thing I have read in ages. Are you sure it wasn't a joke? Maybe the person who wrote it was a bit bitter because Brentford have signed their captain twice in 3 years

Carlisle Midfielder Liam Noble is new Doncaster boss Paul Dickov's number one transfer target after impressing last season.

Seems a lot popping up about noble he did have a good last 10-15 games!

Dickov hates Noble after he claimed he elbowed an Oldham player in the face, video footage proved otherwise, noble also celebrated his 30 yard goal in front of him. His assistant manger broke tom tawio noise the season before and claimed that Carlisle players started the fight once again video footage shows his assistant started it.

Liam noble is inconstant, for first half of the season he struggled, but in the second half his spectacular passing at time, his long shots as Doncaster know quite well and his never stop attitude closing down all over the pitch, he was the best player for the last 15 games no doubt about it.

Do you mean inconsistent or incontinent?
I did hear that he is a good dribbler.

Doncaster fans he is the one who hit the goals against you for Carlisle at your ground, when Carlisle won 0:2 the second was quite a good goal,

Wayne Bridge has signed for READING.

Harry Redknapp threatened to walk if QPR didn't back him to get him, and Brighton are quite literally in years over this on NorthStandChat.

Matty Upson also in talks about a return to Reading.

Kenwyn Jones linked with a swap deal for Pogrebnyak too.

Please let this kenwyne rumour be true much better than pog who I rate as useless

Would rather get Bridcutt. don't need Upson

Not sure we are in tears, we could not have afforded him anyway.

Matthew Upson will probably stay with Brighton, I and many other Brighton fans have spotted around the Brighton and Hove area even after the close season

Doubt it will happen but like the Pavel for Jones idea

Mr Bloom - please sort out the poyet situation and find a new manager so I can stop reading about players either actually or supposedly leaving Brighton and start reading about players arriving at Brighton!

Oh well. Redknapp didn't get Bridge. Now he's going to leave.

In years. ha ha ha

Please let this kenwyne rumour be true much better than pog who I rate as useless

Pog is a good top division forward just at reading no one could manage to pass to him

Wayne Bridge has made me cry because he's joined Reading.

Dear Mr Tony Bloom,
Please get rid of Poyet as soon as possible so we can get a proper manager and buy some new players. By the time you sort out the Poyet situation all of the good players will be gone.

Jones swap deal is now down to meeting both players signing on fees, wages are not the issue.

I sit in the east stand at Brighton and watched Wayne Bridge all year. He is such a technically poor player - could not touch the ball with his right foot let alone kick it! - that signing him permanently would have been a mistake and against BHAFC (supposed) ethos. Give young, technical, hungry players a chance.

"I sit in the east stand at Brighton and watched Wayne Bridge all year. That's not what most brighton fans are saying, if he's that poor neither chelsea or man city would have signed him but of course you know better. Sour grapes methinks.

Yes they all signed him but never played him and in City's case were happy to pay him £80k a week to play for someone else!

I would LOVE that deal to go ahead between the two.

"Yes they all signed him but never played him and in City's case were happy to pay him £80k a week to play for someone else!"

He still has over 300 games in the prem and 36 england caps, definitely good enough for the championship.

Lua Lua is set to feature in a behind closed doors trial game with a view to a signing a new contract at for Colchester United

Not that we have heard this at the start of the last 3 or 4 seasons.

Lua Lua who? Lomana?

Same old rumour guaranteed to crop up every year - rubbish!

Believe it when I see it, every year he is coming back and never happens

He is re-tweeting Colchester fans pleas for him to return. There may be some truth in this rumour.

07 Jun 2013 03:01:34
Rumour has it norwich have made an enquiry about Liverpool ace jonjo shelvey! The only thing stopping Norwich is the 5m-8m hurdle they have to jump to sign him. Also grant holt has once again has put in a transfer request so CH wants to let him go with another striker coming in. NCFC made a lot of money last year and need to invest in to some world-known stars. RVW has already signed but if he can push through the sales of any of these I would be over the moon. Shelvey, Van Ginkel, Capel, Biglia, Altidore, Figueroa, Kone, McCarthy,

Holy hasn't handed in a transfer request?

Complete tosh! Holt is on holiday with his family at the moment

07 Jun 2013 11:50:39
Norwich's Grant Holt hasn't put in another transfer request. You read that last night on twitter from an account retweeting the headlines from when he did it last year

07 Jun 2013 11:20:08
Grant Holt has not handed in a transfer request to Norwich City FC, this rumour came from a spoof tv twitter account.

Love that list of players you'd be over the moon to sign. just add Defour and Honda and we're away!

Fingers crossed we'll be able to get a couple of them. all would add hugely to our squad and the majority are at least vaguely realistic!

Grant ain't going anywhere, was with him at his nephews 16th birthday party last week!

Few snippits of info coming out of ipswich town,

Matt killgallon to sign on his return from holiday late next week.
Titus bramble to go on trial at town during pre season to prove his fitness and worth to Mick McCarthy.

The deal for Daryl murphy will be announced over the weekend, player to sign 2 yr contract on July1st.

jermain pennant also linked today in some tabloids

Titus would be excellent signing

You don't have clue really do you mate

Can't see Daryl Murphy signing on the weekend. Hardly any transfer signings or announcements are made during the weekend.

Bramble looking to go MLS. America or sleepy Suffolk. no brainer!

Didn't post this but how can it be total guess work when at least 3 have been announced? Imagine its based on MM wanting to keep most of last years squad together and the offers made that are under consideration and maybe the fact that West Ham United have just signed a new keeper.

Daryl signed today on a 2 year contract

Get real my friend, it's all guess work and or taken from press titbits

Southampton boss Pechettino is heading towards a dispute with Chairman Cortese over the proposed signing of Uruguayan Gonzalo Bueno

Cortese and technicasl director and head of recruitment Les Reed are keen for the winger to join, however Pochettino believes he lacks the technical skill and discipline to play in the Premier League.

From what I understand Saints interest is pure speculation and has little to no truth. not sure where any dispute has come from.

Les Reed is not head of recruitment Paul Mitchell is in this role. We have a transfer committee consisting of Cortese, Reed, Mitchell and Pochecttino. So I will question your post given the lack of accuracy inthe post

No way on earth would you know any of this!

Right.

Can't spell Pochettino.

Saying Bueno lacks technical skills? That's his major plus - he is a very technically gifted player. And what do you mean discipline?! He's only 20 and has time to train and learn discipline. Although he's never had discipline problems in the past, so not sure where you are getting that from. If you had said he lacked physicality I might have believed you.
