Liverpool have made a cheap bid for Aimar, but that does not mean that Valencia have offered him for such a ridiculous price. They will wait until after the World Cup to receive additional offers. Aimar plays a key role in Pekerman's national team. Expect to see offers from Sevilla, Villareal, and possibly a couple of English clubs which will drive the value up to as much as 12 million pounds.

Good for the guy who made the Rangers FC and the Spanish player connection: for not letting anything out the bag just yet. I know the player in question and I am very surprised but impressed by the complete secrecy of this situation. It is one of the most best kept secrets in football so far and what I can say to all Rangers fans in Scotland (and around the world) is that you are in for a very special treat. Everton stalling on Lescott deal, maybe due to fact the board are waiting on Yobo situation to see if he signs a double your money deal??? Still, expect Lescott sign by end of the wk, also Everton keeping tabs on Meitite(spelling?) of Marsaille and still interested in Huth(Chelsea), so maybe their expecting Yobo to go??? Scott Carson on a season long loan deal
Chris Eagles on a loan until Christmas
Duncan Ferguson on a twelve month deal
Dickson Etuhu for around 600k (this all depends on whether SWFC can offload David Graham for around 250K to Huddersfield
SWFC have missed out on numerous other targets including Colin Cameron who is set to sign for Coventry, however Paul Sturrock has said he will be over the moon if he can complete these signings before pre-season training

Arsenal also have made a bid for Ribery .. after ManU's 9 Mil bid was rejected. The bid is rumoured to be around 13 Mill.
Celtic will have another year of transformation in terms of their first team squad. Players from the O’Neill era such as Hartson, Petrov, Lennon and Peason will move on and be replaced with players identified and signed by Strachan. Al of the players signed in the summer will have a sell on value so look for the continued investment in young players, the only person we would sign who does not fit that identikit would be Gravesend, but he will only be signed if Roy Keane decides to retire. Quentin Fortune is also an older player, but his deal as he will be offered a short term (1 year) contract and is seen as a perfect player for the champions league.
There are a few strong rumours suggesting that Celtic will make a move for Carlton Cole from Chelsea and Steven Davis from Aston Villa.
Celtic are also keen on a number of players from Europe, Michael Kadlec, Atiiba Hutchinson, Niko Krancjar and Andreas Granqvist, but the number one priority is signing Scottish players and Celtic are very keen on Steven Naismith, Keven Thomson, Scott Brown, Kevin McDonald and David Goodwillie to continue the drive to have all the best young Scottish talent at Celtic Park.
Middlesbrough are going to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Rodolph Douala for £2.2m. Boro are set to unveil Gareth Southgate as their new assistant manager, though it's still unknown who the manager will be. I hear that Southgate has played a big part in tempting Douala to the Riverside, and he is also the main man in luring Chelsea defender Robert Huth to replace him on Teeside.

To the person who was talking about the VILLA clearout, this is a load of rubbish, why would villa get rid of cahill and agbonlahor who have just signed new deals, and get rid of gareth barry so cheaply. With the incoming transfers villa have stated they wont buy Bakke as he cant even get into the leeds team, and why spend 8million on 2clumsy defenders (get it right)

Portsmouth are to sign around 6 - 7 players of which around 5 players will go straight into the starting team. Andres D'Allesandro will cost £6.5 million from Wolfsburg, Stillian Petrov will be snapped up despite interested elswhere for £6.2 million, Henri Camara will be signed for £4 million to partner Lomano LuaLua and Kevin Foley will come in from Luton Town for £2 million beating Fulham and Charlton and Villa to the chase. Despite injury, Matthew Upson will come in for £4 million although he won't play until September.
If Kevin Foley chooses not to move to Pompey, Melchiot or Kromkamp will be chased.

Chelsea will have a major clearout in the next 2 months: Eider G, C Cole, SWP/duff (one of the two, perhaps both), G Johnson, Del horno and R Huth are all leaving for sure. Bridge will stay as back up to R Carlos. D Alves might join as it looks like Jose wants good attacking full-backs for the upcoming season. Midfield and attack are completely covered as Crespo is 90% staying for one more season. But if he does leave expect yet another big star to arrive to replace him: usual suspects RVN, Adriano and tevez are the most likely (only one of them). Jose wants Gallas to stay as he is one of the best defenders in the world, if he doesnt then his replacement is from this list: Chivu, King, R Ferdinand or G Rodriquez (of Villarreal). Next season Chelsea will play two up front in most games with attacking wingbacks providing width. the midfield will be a narrow diamond comprised of Makalelle at the back and then three from Lamps, Ballack, Essien, Cole, Robben and Obi-one. The tried and tested one up-front approach will still be used but mostly away from home against tricky opposition.

Mark Hughes will let Craig Bellamy leave for Liverpool this summer for a deal worth around £5.5 million but will then sign young Egyptian Ahmed Mido from Roma for around £5 million as a direct replacement. Mido will partner Florent Sinama-Pongolle or Shefki Kuqi in attack who will move in part exchange as part of the Bellamy transfer.

Arsenal will be signing Adriano, a deal has been agreed that takes Campbell to the San Siro and Adriano to AFC for the staggering figure of £30m. The money is available from the refinancing of the Emirates loan and the successful CL run. In addition, no major redesign of the squad is necessary which allows the bulk of funds to buy an outstanding striker to partner Henry. Wenger is looking closely at Fernando Gago as midfield cover for Gilberto and competition for Diaby in the Vieira role. Like all rumours take with a pinch of salt but I have this from a very reliable source who told me about the Rosicky deal three weeks prior to his signing.
LFC News:
Liverpool will unveil Fabio Aurelio (Free) and Pablo Aimar (£5-£6m) before the week is out. Mark Gonzalez will also be confirmed before Thursday as i've said. The move for Daniel Alves from Sevilla has now hit a stumbling block as Rafa will not pay more than about £9.5m for him. Sevilla may cave in however as Alves has stated his desire to move to Merseyside. Malbranque is also a strong possibility however Dirk Kuyt will probably not join now as Feyenoord are demanding too much for him and Rafa feels he doesn't have a good working attitude. Pennant still waiting in the wings if Rafa doesn't get a right winger. The right winger will NOT be these players:
Joaquin (Defensivley fragile)
Simao (Overpriced and mainly left sided)
Victor is likely to come in as 3rd choice or as 2nd (If Pennant becomes 1st choice). Cisse, Sinama, Anderson, Garcia and Gerrard are also likely to play RW at some point.

Kaka is not coming to Man Utd, niether is Torres. Im seriously looking forward to seeing Robbie Keane and Wayne Rooney up front for United. Expect a replacement for Giggs to come in - (15 years of impressive sprinting on the wing takes its toll), possibly Ribbery. RVN looks almost certain to leave but looks in good shape for the World Cup which puts United in a better position - providing RVN does the business in Germany.

My girlfriends step dad works out of an office at the JJB that looks out onto the pitch and says he saw Emile Heskey and Mario Melchiot being shown round. These will replace the departing Jason Roberts and Pascal Chimbonda. You heard it here first.
Liverpool have been speaking to Jonathan Woodgate about a pay as you play deal. Rafa was interested in Woody before he signed for madrid. Agger will go on loan for a year to get more premiership experience with Wigan and Man City interested. He might also be used in any deal to bring Malbranque to Anfield though. Dudek will go to Wigan as he doesnt want to leave the northwest ruling out a move to Portsmouth. Also any talk of Kuyt is nonsense. Rafa only wants people who want to play for the club and Kuyts rumoured preference for Newcastle for garanteed football has scuppered any chance of it happening. defoe is more likely and carra and stevie have been asked to talk to him whilst away with england. Darren Huckerby has rejected a move to Reading. The Norwich striker told Nigel Worthington he would not even think about leaving the Canaries and wants to end his carrer at the club. This may not sit well for the Norwich City manager as he want him away before he can bring anyone in.

everton are stalling on the joleon lescott deal for a number of reasons. 1) he has had 2 medicals at bellfield (on thurs an fri) one of which showed some signs of a reaccurance of his 2003 injury. everton want to restructure the 5.6mil deal to a pay as you play just to cover there backs. 2) Robert Huth has brought down his ridiculous 50k wage demands and moyes is considering making him a 40k earner with johnson, beattie and soon to be yobo. 3) and most likely, a cut price deal for mexes has been sorted. i dont know the price, i just know its under his actual value.
Finally moyes has a choice of final players to splash out on this season. Only 1 more will follow and here are the possibilities. Miete, Jeffers, Malbranque, O.Hargreaves and of course like every other prem team s.w.p (as if)
To be honest if its not malbranque i'd rather not have any of the others.
Will he or won't he? More on the Ricki Lambert move from Rochdale - Swindon ....
Ricki's advisor sent me an email last night.
"Rochdale turned down two offers from League One clubs last season for him. Ricki wasn't too happy about that as one of them really appealed to him."
The advisor who didn't want to be named revealed the contract Lambert signed when joining Rochdale had a release clause, which activates when a bid of £175,000 is made.
"We knew Ricki would move onto better things and that Rochdale would be a temporary thing, so we insisted on the clause," he said.
He went on to suggest the chance to play with Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet may also have persuaded Lambert to seek a move.
"Who wouldn't want to play alongside Gustavo Poyet and Dennis Wise? If Swindon make him an offer he's going to listen to what they have to say"
No official word from Rochdale or Swindon about the bid.
