Watford striker Troy Deeney linked with a move to Premier League clubs Aston Villa, Stoke City and Newcastle United if Watford fail to gain promotion. The Englishman has impressed in the championship and has caught the eye of a number of top flight sides.

Just got a 3 year contract last month. Unlikely.

He just signed a new 4 year deal last month?

08 Apr 2013 07:53:22
Yeah that's why he just signed a contract extention to his current contract??

Unlikely unless Watford were to receive an offer of around £20m +

Just signed a new contract reject

Can't see it myself, but you never know, some Premiership clubs have more money than sense & do like to waste it. Personally, I think that, for the money Watford would expect, he'd be a bit of a risk.

The fact that he has just signed a new contract is really irrelevant though - that could simply be his way of thanking the club for keeping the faith with him, by ensuring that they receive a fee rather than him walking away for nothing.

08 Apr 2013 13:35:47
A number of clubs were interested in Troy as his contract was due to expire in the Summer.

Now that he has signed a new deal it is unlikely that he will move.

However, there's a valuation on all players if that is met and the player wants to move then it could happen.

20m, haha keep dreaming

08 Apr 2013 14:58:00
His contract was purely intended to boost his fee and help the club. A move back to the midlands could be something he would consider.

20 million plus? I would take 7 to 8 any day, we only paid 350K for him!

We won't sell him, if we don't go up he'll be key to our promotion chase next season, and if we do, he'll still be a key player. He's been at Watford for a few seasons now, and he has come on strides this season, scoring more regularly than in previous seasons and has a fantastic way of holding up the ball to develop an attacking opportunity. He would be too valuable to sell at any price

I don't see Deeney going, but he has improved this season. He's scoring a lot of goals and has more quality about him. He could play in the Premier League. but as has been said he has signed a new contract and teams would need to pay the price. Would be £3m+ for sure.

20 million? 7-8 million? Wow our fans can sometimes be deluded. He's a quality player and I think he could cut it in the Premiership, but 3-5 million is more of a realistic figure. I hope he doesn't leave though, of course, he's been phenomenal this season.

Dave Kitson to Doncaster in the summer?

Get out, not a chance any fan wants him at our club the cheating little person

Do 1 that has got to be a joke! Never going to happen. PLEASE!!

08 Apr 2013 19:22:20
He has already said his next club will be in the US or Canada. He wants to end his playing career in the MLS.

He will never be signed by Doncaster, he enjoyed getting us relegated too much at the end of last Season.

Donny fan here, no chance of promotion, not a good enough team lucky to be we're we are, poor manager we will lose last 3 games, no chance of play off success, not being negative just realistic rtid

Try to believe in donny are you really a donny fan or a rotheram fan

After recent talks with CEO Sam Rush at many Q and A's many derby fans have confirmed derby will be attempting to sign 5 players in the summer with experience the main attribute they are looking for.

Left Back - Craig Forsyth - Watford - 100-200k
Centre Back - Alex Baptise - Blackpool - Out of contract
Striker - Chris Martin - Norwich - Out of contract
Striker - Martin Waghorn - Leicester City - Out of contract
Winger - Chris Humphreys - Motherwell - Out of contract

So wages will be key, derby will need to offload Tyson and Robinson and potentially even more players if they are to afford these players wages as the wage bill is very tight at Derby.

We would baps go to derby. i'd he goes it will be to a good team

We have the option of an extra year on Chris Martin so its unlikely you'l get him for free

Forsyth looks like a good bet if Watford do reach the Prem as he would struggle to get in to the Watford starting 11

The table doesn't lie mate. derby 10th, blackpool 17th. I think we're the better team at the minute.

You do have an option on Chris Martin but you don't know how much derby want Martin. If you extend the contract and we pull out you could be stuck with him for another year. Wasted wages that could go on another player.

Baptise used to play with our club captain Shaun Barker. He also played with another of our players Jake Buxton.

With Derby having to spend less on other areas due to investment in previous years. More money will be going to on the pitch matters this season. Meaning we can offer a competitive wage to Baptiste.

If Blackpool sell Ince that would open up a whole host of possibilities. You could then probably beat us in a wage battle.

Mind ya don't over spend lo xxx

I didn't say were better than you I said baps will go to a team that's better than yous. And anyway you can't really use the table at the moment to say whos better as their is only a few points bewteen about ten teams

08 Apr 2013 15:01:07
Forsyth isn't signing our first choice is Cunningham at Bristol city should they be relegated.

08 Apr 2013 15:26:02
Its Not HUMPRIES, its HUMPHREY, he is starting to show some real form in the SPL, and Derby would do well to sign him,. From the Midlands I am sure he would be worth a phone call.

Doesn't Martin have to agree with the contract extension or is it against his will? Because I'm sure he wouldn't agree to it if that were the case.

As for Baptiste, this is one of the few rumours I can actually see happening. He knows not only Barker, but Buxton as well. Wages shouldn't be too bad either.

08 Apr 2013 17:03:10
Waghorns contract expires next summer not this summer so to all you derby fans that keep saying your signing him, your not.

Baps has a extra year on his contract and it will be taken up. So thank you {Ed003's Note - Bap's hasn't.}

How do you know {Ed003's Note - because I do,it's not a secret.}

Waghorn's contract runs out on the 30th June 2013. He can go wherever the hell he likes after that pal.

In this morning's DET it says we are monitoring the Bapiste situation and have denied any interest in Chris Humphrey. I think there were bids from Stoke and Wolves in the January transfer window, so I can't see us competing with those for wages.

We will certainly compete with Wolves if they get relegated. As for Stoke they purchased Brek Shea I can't see them getting Humprey.

07 Apr 2013 20:49:38
Scott Kerr, Jason Walker and Patrick McLaughlin are all believed to have agreed pre-contract agreements with new clubs as they're entitled to do during the last 6 months of their existing contract. Michael Ingham is likely to be a surprising name transfer listed in the summer if Nigel Worthington remains as manager which in itself is not guaranteed.

07 Apr 2013 20:25:32
Bournemouth's targets if they reach the Championship include Leon Clarke, Brian Stock, Marvin Bartley and Aaron Martin.
Watford striker Matej Vydra will leave the club to move to the Premier League if Watford do not achieve promotion.
Cardiff manager Malky Mackay has already started planning for next season and wants to sign Adam Le Fondre. He is also interested in taking Nick Powell on loan.
Swansea are favourites to sign Romelu Lukaku if he goes out on loan because Chelsea want him to gain European experience.

How much will clarke cost? at least 1mill I think. and why oh why burnleys cast offs all the time

Those definitely are not Bournemouth's targets, whatever division they are in

I think marvin's the only possibilty out of them lot but that still seems unlikely

07 Apr 2013 18:55:20
Derby scouts watched Alex Baptiste at Blackpool on Saturday, he's out of contract in the summer. Is he the answer to play alongside Keogh?

Did simon Grayson sign him

Not sure, he's a local lad though, he came through the Mansfield set up. Personally I think he'd be a good signing, good experience, played alondside Barker when he was there.

08 Apr 2013 13:53:33
Didn't Blackpool turn down offers of £1m for Baptiste earlier in the season (Leicester and Palace linked), don't think we can compete with the wages they will offer if he goes on a 'Bosman' anyway.

More likely Derby going back in for old ram Ian Evatt.

Waghorn too will not come, wages to high, Derby fishing talent from league 1 and 2 or Scotland!

07 Apr 2013 18:31:12
Derby are targeting Chris Humphrey, Gary Monk, Greg Cunningham, Matty Fryatt, Kevin Davies, Martyn Waghorn and Guy Moussi as summer targets. {Ed034's Note - moussi has stated on numorous occasions that he would never play for derby, out of respect for the forest fans

Also Alex Baptise

07 Apr 2013 14:30:02
Phil Parkinson has agreed a new two year contract with Bradford City. He has agreed financial terms and is waiting for a contract to be written out before he signs, he will have the contract signed within the next two weeks.

07 Apr 2013 13:01:23
Neil Warnock will be the director of football at Plymouth Argyle next season!

I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope your club survives better than ours.

08 Apr 2013 21:16:26
Messi, Ronaldo and Casillas all due to sign for Plymouth at the end of the season. All this stuff is rubbish! People are just picking random names who have tiny links with Plymouth and saying, 'Oh, by the way, they're going to Plymouth because I think they should and what I say goes'.

To be fair, it's more than a "tiny link". Warnock said himself he wants a job within two hours of his home in Cornwall. How many teams are within two hours of Cornwall? He was at the game on Saturday and said he'd do "anything he could to help Argyle out". It may just be me, but to me, that's more than a little link.

Yeah this is true, Neil spoke to Brent briefly on Saturday and talked about a few things and it's has been talked about, Sheridan is keen as well. If Plymouth stay up this will happen!

07 Apr 2013 11:15:24
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini will be given a massive transfer budget this summer to 'spend big' as they look to be the better of the Manchester clubs next season. Roberto Mancini has his eyes on a lot of players including Barcelona winger Pedro, Bayern Munich midfielder Javi Martinez and Atletico Madrid playmaker Arda Turan! :)

Is mancini the right man
for the job at city

07 Apr 2013 14:38:56
City will replace Mancini with Carlo Ancelotti at the end of the season when Jose Mourinho signs for PSG

07 Apr 2013 10:21:00
With Ricardo Fuller set for release by Charlton Athletic its rumourd that Preston North End are intrested on re-signing the striker and should be quite popular with the fans being an fans favorite in the past

There is no chance of Ricardo retuning to PNE

07 Apr 2013 13:45:59
I wish this was true but can't see it but you never know

Will Ricardo sign for free and play for less than £2,000 a week?

If Yes. then he will go to a Championship side

If No. then he ain't going to PNE

07 Apr 2013 09:24:11
Watford will sign shay given if they go up and villa go down

Would he really want to be a number 3 just to stay in the Premiership?

Can't see this happening for two reasons - 1) Villa aren't going down, and 2) Watford wouldn't need him.

And there's also the possibility that they won't be going up either.

08 Apr 2013 13:54:50
This is very unlikely, Shay Given is a decent keeper and is still competent of playing first team football.

he should drop down to the championship to gain regular football, the standard will be high in the championship next season.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him link up with Mick McCarthy at Ipswich

"the standard will be high in the championship next season. "

Your implication being that it isn't high this season. What makes you think that next season it will be better?

07 Apr 2013 04:53:27
Ronaldo was spotted looking for properties in Manchester this week, a summer move to Manchester United could be on.

Why would he. still owns a house

Or man. City?!

07 Apr 2013 04:45:46
Reda Johnson in talk with west bromwich, stoke city and norwich. {Ed034's Note - I can't see him being good enough for he prem

Ed - that's why he's in talks with Norwich {Ed034's Note - lol

Hes going to stoke

As Ed's comment above

West brom in talks with Birmingham over a possible deal for Nathan Redmond fee to be around 6.5million mark.

Considering west brom don't spend that much in a whole transfer window I doubt they will spend that much on player, he's not good enough anyway

Yes we need midfielders. yacobs needs mulumbu with him, he lost rosicky twice for the arsenal goals

08 Apr 2013 19:32:55
Read Johnson is Wednesday's best player just ask their fans. He can play anywhere, he's a monster so would suit Stoke perfectly. Get him if we stay up!

Why was lukaku on the bench, rosenberg has had his chips, bye bye, no chance we will pay that for redmond, joke statement that one, we have enough undelivering wide players thanks

07 Apr 2013 01:17:53
Manchester City are looking at Jason Steele in the summer as back up for Joe Hart. Boro are looking at Ross Turnbull as replacement who has sent DVDs around clubs in England, as he is out of contract in summer. He would prefer a move back to Middlesbrough.

I hope Jason doesn't leave us surely he is clever enough to go the same way as brad jones and Ross turnbull

NO! not Trunbull, Steele is stayin at the BORO! He'll never get played a city, and he's been in poor form (like all of a our players) so no one will want them.

06 Apr 2013 23:42:24
Hondurian midfielder Arnold peralta claims to be 90% a rangers player, the other 10% is when he signs the contract. Source- Spanish interview.

06 Apr 2013 23:15:06
Does anyone know if Islam Feruz will be moving on in the summer?

Rohan

Hes only 17, I highly doubt it

06 Apr 2013 22:58:17
If /when pulis is fired stoke will look at Rafa and di mateo who both have a point to prove in management but if relergated almost the full 1st team will be sold and potentially pennant will get another chance you herd it here first. Chazzza

Why would the full first team of Stoke leave, Wilkinson, Wilson, Shotton, Jones & Whitehead are perfect for the championship anyway

06 Apr 2013 22:24:20
Now Bristol City's relegation has effectively been confirmed Sean O'Driscoll has lined up his top five transfer targets to help rebuild the club in League 1. Inevitably there will be a firesale of the best players, Adomah, Baldock, Davies etc. Funds from these will be used to buy:
- Simon Gillett (Nottingham Forest) O'Driscoll has signed him twice before and rates him highly.
- Richard Wood (Coventry)
- Paddy Madden (Laregly dependent on Yeovil's promotion chances)
- Marlon Pack (Cheltenham)
- Dan Seanborne (Southampton)

Doubt we will get madden but heard billy sharp is meant to be coming. SOD helped him with losing his child and they have now become good friends. only reporting what I heard {Ed034's Note - there's no chance billy sharp will sign for you guys if you go down.
Gillett would be an excellent signing though

Why would paddy madden go to bristol city? they're worse than the mighty yeovil

Bcfc worst than yeovil wait till next season easy 6 points for city ytfc smallest club in the west

They will not be signing all the players for a fee as of the FFP regulations

Also a 15 point deduction next season if Sisu refuse to go

Yeovil's 3rd in league 1, and city are bottom of championship and are going to be relegated. yeovils never beeen relegated and when you come down you'll be in decline and play poor (as usual) whilst we are enjoying life in the championship. hopefully

Were is bcfc getting all this money from your alredy 41 million in bebt

Looking likely that YTFC will make the play-offs and, as anyone knows, anything could happen. Paddy will not move to BCFC if in the same league or not. Note: Yes, we are the smallest club in the west. We are well aware of that fact. Get over yourselves!

Lansdown is a billionaire, yeah we are in loads of debt!

Even if yeovil do go up you will be worst than city in the championship you would a laughing stock small club

Good luck getting Seaborne, but there is a fair bit of competition as it is quite well known he is surplus to demand at Southampton.

I don't think that Yeovil have ever been considered a "laughing stock".

I wouldn't bet your house on City being able to poach Yoevil players.

We have a bigger pay structure but apparently times are going to be hard as so many of what we have are on Championship contracts now.

06 Apr 2013 21:59:26
Danny Wilson will be sacked by Sheffield United if the club fail to gain promotion. They have lined up Neil Warnock up to return to Bramall Lane however this is unlikely because he wants to move down south.
Owen Coyle is also in the frame however he is more interested in the Leeds job.
Brian McDermott is being lined up for the Leicester job if Nigel Pearson is sacked because they do not achieve promotion.
