Darren Ferguson was pushed out of Peterborough Utd., as the players revolted against him.... he was 'seeing' a players wife, and the squad refused to play for him.
the player in question(a midfieder & goalscorer), has a g'friend that was on celeb B.B. ....

god help the Preston players

David Villa spotted at manchester airport? will he be joining red or blue or maybe heading down the m62 to liverpool?

Liverpool will complete the signing of Maxi Rodriguez before the weekends game against Tottenham but will not be included in the squad. Liverpool are still in negotiations with Birmingham over Ryan Babel, Liverpool want £12million but the Blues are apparently unwilling to pay over £9million. Rafa is also hoping to take advantage of Galatasaray's reported interest in Ryan Babel by offering a straight swap between him and Arda Turan. Gala may want extra cash too but despite recent reports, Rafa will get to keep any cash he gets from sales therefore he can afford to add a small amount plus Babel. Rafa wants to sell Babel for as close to £15million as possible as Valencia are demanding £15million Juan Manuel Mata and he is Rafa's first choice. Rafa has been watching Mata for 2 years now and has seen him as the ideal signing to make the left flank his own for years to come as he is only 21. Rafa has been in constant contact with his representitives and would prefer to sign Mata than David Silva. If Rafa knows a move for Mata in the Summer will be financially impossible then a move for Turan will be made. Dont rule out a move for Van der Vaart, Rafa would like to sign him but only on loan as he would be financially impossible to sign permanently for Liverpool. Liverpool are in preliminary talks with the agents of Marouane Chamakh over a pre–contract agreement. Rafa would like to sign him now but Bordeaux are asking for £5million and Rafa understandably won't stump up this amount of money knowing he will be free in the Summer. This would prove to be a great piece of business by Rafa. Part of the Andrea Dossena deal was to have first choice on Marek Hamsik and this was accepted by Napoli. If Javier Mascherano leaves, Hamsik will be signed but Gerrard will be dropped further back into the centre of midfield. A new defensive midfielder will not be signed as Rafa wants to try a new attacking option. Trust me on this, I have great knowledge from within Melwood

Bristol City Update

Cole Skuse looks set to finalise a 3million deal to Stoke however Burnley have also been sniffing but no bid

Robert Snodgrass – City have tabled a 1.5million offer to test Leeds' resolve over the left winger

Jamie McCombe could be set for an exit to Barnsley or Sheffield United in a deal worth half a million.

Tristan Plummer and Joe Edwards set to break into first team.

Heard it here first!

Strong indications that stephn macmanus WILL be going to ipswich as soon as Celtic bring in probably st ledger.
If he did not still have a couple of years on his contract strachan would have taken him as well as his sidekick caldwell.
Sorry Ipswich fans but Macmanus is the luckiest player ever to have been the captain of a team the size of celtic.
He can't pass, can't tackle and couldnt trap a bag of cement on its first bounce, oh and by the way the fee is said to be in the region of 2.75 million which is the same amount celtic have agreed to pay for st ledger.

– Arsenal will sign 2 experienced players to fill a gap while Song's away and with all the injuries. These players will be Patrick Vieira and Benni McCarthy, both on loan. Both have fallen out of favour but are top quality (if McCarthy loses his belly!) and desperate to play in the World Cup.

The Summer will see Huntelaar (as Man U will go for others) or Carlton Cole (as West Ham will go down). Sakho will replace Senderos who will stay until then.

West ham have received two offers for carlton cole.arsenal are the front runners but they are a long way short with the 9 million offered and zola is keen on a player cash deal with 2 arsenal players on zola's radar i suspect one of these is wilshere.liverpool are the other team interested but we all know a lot of this will depend on if they can offload there rubbish.

Notts County are ready to pay £250k for in form Brentford striker Steve Kabba. The deal will be done by the end of the week.

Likely Liverpool signings: maxi rodriguez and a big powerful striker. Thats about it. All the muppets who had a go at raffa last season for his so called 'rant' now seem to be using the word fact quite a lot.

Please make sure it is fact before you stat linking the red with every tom dick n harry at random. And yes we are skint but a take over deal is in progress so don't get excited, especially you arsenal fans who set such low standards for yourselves, win a european cup first!

Suprise move – Beckford to Sunderland for £2.5 million plus Healy on loan with view to perm deal if Leeds promoted for nominal fee.

expect Richardson and Ferdinand to leave in January – Johnson boro ( deal done) also some truth in Bentley deal plus Dawson

Maxi Rodriguez will complete a move to Anfield in the next 48 hours with the Argentine set to take the vacant number 7 shirt. Maxi will arrive on an initial six month loan deal with the move likely to become permanent in the summer. Benitez is also on the verge of agreeing a deal to bring Marouane Chamakh on a free in the summer from Bordeaux whilst a loan deal for Nicolαs Fedor could be on the cards from Valencia whilst Benitez is also looking at Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Emile Heskey and Roman Pavylchenko.

Ex–Brentford forward Murray Jones to return as player coach. Rising star Danny Foster (Brentford)is interesting Arsenal.

Anyone got any Shrewsbury rumours?

Derby County reported to have made an offer of 100k for Brentford keeper Lewis Price?

I also heard moyes tempted about gary neville also saha will not move to the red side u lot are just pissed off we got a striker who scores goals {editor's note – erm you never heard of Fernando Torres? You might want to look him up as I do believe he has scored a goal or two and is a striker.}

Sunderland are close to signing Marseille pair Taye Taiwo and Bakari Kone. They are also keeping tabs on Bayern Munich defender Christian Lell. They are also locked in negotiations with Rubin Kazan captain Sergei Semak.

SOMEONE DONT LIKE MY RUMOUR I SEE–V.Nistelrooy won't be signing for City, Nor will A.Young. Ireland will never go to United.
Pavylychenko to Chelsea? Is this a joke?
Villa to Manchester United? Never, Theres more chance of Villa going to Manchester City especially if they make champions league, Is this "Agent" you get your info from the local pub, always in there and thinks hes the all knower of football knowledge lol
Villa will defo join United Berbatov will be sold Ashley Young to Man city is 90% agreed mate he will maybe join them in the summer though but Ive heard Man City will sign him this transfer window the same with David villa. SOURCE 121

Ranger's latest,

Christian nada's transfer deal is near a done deal, my cousin is big mates with the heart's manager.

The future's bright its blue and white

Celtic latest rumour's

Scott mcdonald will NOT be leaving in the january window. Wigan were to offer up to £5 million to celtic for the striker but mcdonald is happy with the club and his current wages so it looks like the aussie will NOT be staying.

Stephen mcmanus will be of to ipswich
( at least on loan )

Gary caldwell will be of to epl ( rumour ) if gordon strachan ( boro ) does not agree on the price that the celtic board have put on the defender.

Willo flood is a transfer target from spl clubs as well as clubs in the championship.

Expect a new central defender signing soon, matthew kilgallon???

David Villa to Man United. 101% happening.

Daniel Fox very close to agreeing to a 1.1M move to Bolton to work with owen coyle

Alan irvine to take over at derby from nigel clough

gary megson to be new notts county boss (he was at ML this afternoon)

david jones to be new bolton boss, with alan curbishley taking over his old job at cardiff.

avram grant to be new burnley boss, with joe jordan taking charge at pompey.

Calling all LFC fans, according to a reporter from the Liverpool echo the Maxi deal is virtually complete and will be within 48hrs(possible 18 month deal now with LFC paying a fee of £1.5m!) LFC WILL sell Dossena for £4m to Napoli he has been stuck in Liverpool because of the snow but is now on his way.

Voronin is on his way to Dinamo Moscow for £1.5m. Babel bid rejected however if £12m bid comes in the bye bye! No Deggen takers just yet.

Most interestingly is the money raised in this transfer window will be added to the funds in the summer. Not because the owners say so but because Rafa has decided he will have a greater choice of players to choose from (sounds a bit risky to me although that's why i'm not in charge i suppose!). You can find this info on the Daily post website (the journo in question has strong links with the management at the club and agrees what stories gets leaked!!!).

Rafa will be in for another striker though...who that is we can only guess!

Brentford are set to sign Wojciech Szczesny on a three year contract, after Wojcjech had a falling out with Arsene Wenger. Szcsesny will sign on a free transfer.

Q.P.R will offer £1 million plus Patrick Agyemang for Brentford's Ryan Dickson in a move which is set to anger Brentford supporters.

West Ham United have offered Brentford striker Carl Cort a 6 month contract to replace Carlton Cole who is Real Madrid bound.

Sheffield United News

Interesting developments, The new chief executive has been succesful in securing funding from North American Hedge funds. However this is not a take over. The funding will be forthcoming in July/Aug 2010, an initial commitment totalling approx £15m will buy a share of 27.5% of Kevin McCabes shares in both the football club and a smaller 5% share of his Scarborough Group of companies, which is believed to be the real target of the investors.
On the transfer front Kevin Blackwell submitted a list of 5 players he wanted to Trevor, however he has been told the wage bill urgently needs reducing, no new contracts will be offered to existing staff until the summer and any in comings must be funded by outgoings.
only likely deal is young german forward Keniet Vilhelm who was due to join in the summer before sustaining a medial ligament injury

Lescott back to me.

DM interested in Benni mcarthy but only at the right price.

To the dumbass that wrote "Adriano to Arsenal. £5million rising to 6."

Adriano is on a free transfer you dumbass!!!

I have ionside info and we are only after Dzeko and possibly a CB from Italy if Senderos leaves. He may be used as part of a transfer.

In the summer a source has told me we are after a CB and GK if Fabianski does not prove himself.

Lansbury will come back and get bedded into the team.

Simpson will leave to QPR in exchange+1M for Raheem Steering.
Almunia will leave for a Spanish side. {editor's note – Adriano is not available on a free as he recently signed a new contract}

Further rumblings (and discontented ones at that) from Brentford FCs supporters AGM last night. Young starlet Ryan Dickson moving to local rivals QPR – you heard it here first. This could cause more upset than Martin Rowlands controversial move to Loftus Road a few seasons back!

L.F.C rumours
Degen to Stuttgartfee not yet agreed
Voronin to Dynamo Moscow..fee reportedly 2m.
Babel to Galatasaray to join up with dutch coach Frank Rijkard unless Birmingham come back with a much improved offer.
Dossena to Naples.4.5m deal already done, just waitin for snow to clear then he can fly out.
Same goes for Maxi Rodrigues, deal already done just can't get in to Liverpool because of the snow. Also Rafa is tryin all he can to sign David Silva. One more thing, Fernando Torres will NEVER play for Man Shity or Chelsea or any other English team, that's a guarentee.

Ex–Bolton star Jay–Jay Okocha is currently training with Barnsley FC. Barnsley have the choice to sign him permanently as he doesn't have a club. If he signs he will have an 18 month contract.

Michael Mifsud is in talks to sign for Plymouth Argyle. By the way he is kinda crap :)

Hearts if vlad has any respect for the prople he employes at hearts he should let the people get on with trying to improve things, however there is a lot of talk around gorgie that he is trying to sell the club to an oil tycoon in usa lets hope for hearts and scottish football in general he does the right thing and leaves tynecastle and hearts fc for good..happy new year jambos and a hobo new year to the wee team gogs107

Who wrote this?

Rafa just spotted talking to david silva's agent over move to anfield in a swap deal with babel going other way

brilliance mate you are on drugs or something. Ive read some crap on this site but nothig like this!
for a start why would Valencia who are sitting in a CL spot in La Liga and who have clawed there way out of financial trouble swap one of their most prized assets for that clown Babel? Babel plus 20 million maybe!!!! get a grip mate. Silva has the potential to be one of the best midfielders in the world and Babel has the potential of an asthmatic OAP. Please stop posting pure She.

You may get Maxi but you'll still miss out on a CL spot.

Real rumour i heard –

Man Utd to sign Di Maria and loan him back to Benfica. Also fergie casting his eye over Wildig and Gourcuff. Dont expect anything big in Jan unless Man City get the thumb out.

On the other side of Bristol, Bristol Rovers out of favour stricker, Darryl Duffy, is expected to join league one rivals Exeter on loan for the rest of the season.

Roy Keane was spotted in the stands at Celtic Park on Sunday. Rumour has it if Celtic don't win their next match Mr Mowbray will be given the boot and Keano will take over. I don't know if there is any truth in this but I felt obliged to keep my fellow posters informed of goings on.
Oscar the Grouch

Former Brentford legend Paul Brooker is to return to the club in a coaching role, whilst Moses Ademola (currently on loan at Woking) wants a recall to fill the void at left back, a position open from Dickson's pending move to Leyton Orient.

I was just going through the archives since I haven't been on this website since the new year, and was extremely surprised by something I read from the 4th of January, regarding the vacant Burnley job. The Trump Card claimed that George Burley was set to take over as the gaffer. I have also heard these rumours. I'm not his brothers, dogs, hairdresser or anything like that I have just been enquiring with people around the club as I'm a journalist who hasn't received work in a while. Anyway enough about me, are there any Burnley supporters who would be dismayed at this appointment. I understand that Burley did a disgraceful job at Scotland but I assume he had difficulty adapting to the job and it's needs. Personally, I view this as a precarious option but some of the fans I have spoken to in pubs see this as a delightful prospect. I was wondering what everyone else thought. Thank you and a Happy New Year to all.
Loosine out.

RE; ''Insider's comments''
You claim Rosicky will leave Arsenal as he hasn't proved anything. Is this the same Rosicky that signed a new contract this week?? With regards to him not proving anyting, after being out for so long I don't know what you expect, personally I think he's done alright. Not forgetting ofcourse that when fully fit is one of Arsenal's most technically gifted footballers, fitting our style perfectly. Injury prone?? Well he had a huge injury with several reactions afterwards, and suffering strains and similar as he was out for so long, and has returned to the fastest league in Europe.... Anyone out for that long would struggle!!
Your first team also sees you dropping the likes of Nasri, Rosicky, Walcott and Diaby. With Diaby's form of recent there is not a chance he will be replaced by VDV, why would Wenger invest all this time in a player, just to drop him when he's hitting his potential??
Also, Cole/Chamakh coming into the first team would push Van Persie out wide.... Why would Arsene successfully move Robin central, with great results when fit, then immediately replace him after one season with one of those two??
C'mon, have a think, I'm not sure what you're inside, but i'm pretty certain it's not Ashburton!!
My thoughts on transfers;
JAN IN; Gignac/Huntelaar on loan, Sakho, Zezinho.
JAN OUT; Senderos
SUMMER IN; Chamakh, Hazard, Green.
SUMMER OUT; Silvestre, Merida, Eboue.
The P–Meister

Have just heard Arsenal have submitted a bid for Pavlychenko. Man City are interest in Tim Cahill and Man Utd are weighing up a bid for Jermaine Defoe. Finally the rumours about Benitez meeting with David Silva's agent are true, it is hoped he can raise money by selling Babel, Riera, Degen, Voronin and Dossena, to contribute to the cost. Will report when i hear more.

Just heard that Nigel Clough will walk out before the Scunthorpe game at Derby County if he does not get the funding he wants to sign players this January.

I was walking my dog through the snow yesterday when i bumped into Ron Wylie (an old Villa coach who still has contacts within the club) and when i asked the question about future AVFC signings he said:

"Dont expect anything to happen in the January window except Kris Boyd to sign from Rangers" MON wants to try the combination of Gabby and Boyd up top with Stan, Milner, Young and Downing supporting. If this doesn't provide the goals to break into the top 4 then MON will spend the remainder of his Winter budget with his Summer budget and buy 1 striker to put the ball in the back of the net. Candidates at the moment are:

Bring on Champions League football at Villa Park!!

In MON we trust!!!

Manchester United are again being linked with a swoop for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema during the transfer window.

Ferguson still has the money raised from the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo burning a hole in his pocket and reports in Spain claim a swoop for the France international could be on the cards.

United lost out to Real in the race to sign Benzema last summer but Fergie could finally land his man if he is willing to pay the Spanish giants in the region of £20million.

The striker has struggled to adapt to life with Real and he may be open to a move should Ferguson come knocking.
this is posted on the clubcall website hope it is true as united need a golscorer doubt that villa will come to united think he will go for the money somewhere like madrid or city

Burnley will sign Celtics Scoot Mcdonald for around will be OC last signing has he made the deal before he jumped ship to bolton

A friend of mine knows a couple of people in the set up at Liverpool. He knows Insua and a couple of people on the backroom staff at the club. He htold me that while Rafa keeps most of his targets between himself and the people who really need to know, a few names have been 'dropped' around the club lately. Apparently the Maxi deal is all but complete and will be announced hours after the first departure, which will probably be Dossena to Napoli. Agents of Arda Turan and Marouane Chamakh have been contacted by the club, and apparently Vasilis Torosidis' has been 'made available' by Olympiakos. These are the only names my friend has mentioned to me, but that doesn't mean there aren't more.
Players thought to be leaving are Dossena, Degen, Babel and Voronin.
As I have said, these are not confirmed targets, but are the rumours going around inside the club.

I saw Neil Warnock in Burnley today near the ground Turf Moor

Liverpool will not sign any players in this window, unless he sells, because the board feel that this season is a lost cause, with the club having been knocked out of the Champions League, and seemingly out of contention in the Premier League. Mascherano will leave, and Torres may consider a move to either Chelsea or Man City if he feels the club isn't moving anywhere fast. This move would quench his desire of a Premier League winners medal.

Sir Alex Ferguson is also looking to get rid of some players, at least temporarily, with midfielder Darren Gibson a loan target for Leicester City till the end of the season, and Vidic a prospect for Spanish champions Barcelona.

On the Man City front, a few Inter Milan players have seen the opportunity of succeeding in the best league in the world, so have come to the attention of Roberto Mancini. These players include Vieira, Chivu, Maicon, Cordoba and Motta.

Arsene Wenger is looking to resign Jose Antonio Reyes on loan to provide more width, and he is also keen on a striker, with Pato of AC Milan rumoured to be his marquee signing of the transfer window. Cesc Fabregas may well leave, as he cannot see Arsenal winning some silverware any time soon, and he feels the time is right in his career to move on.

Cheeky Tip: Gerrard to Chelsea for 50 million!

My fella works up at Reebok as a groundsman and he tells me that the new gaffer has already given the Chairman a list of players from championship that he'd like to see bought in through the transfer window.

Forest favourites Dexter Bloodstock and Larry McGuigan will be joined by Cardiff's Richard Whittington, Swansea's Angela Rangella and Kris Commons from Notts Forest.

I'll keep you pasted if I hear any more.

Coleen x

Neil Warnock and Alan Irvine seen at turf moor today

Barnsley will not be signing lee hughes as robins knows he is too old is not proven at championship level they will be signing lee barnard for 500,000 and macken is going to leeds

Robert Green 2 Chelsea in the summer
Vidic 2 Real Madrid in the summer
Berbatov 2 Barcelona could be this transfer window.
David Villa will join United and David Silva will go to Barcelona.

No chance of Stephen McManus joining Ipswich, people are just assuming that because Roy Keane is at Ipswich he would want to sign him, highly doutbful though as anyone who spends time watching McManus knows he is absolutley shocking, a total bombscare and the worst tackler i've ever seen. He can head the ball for miles though to be fair to him.

Not much going to happen at Parkhead or Ibrox, Celtic will sign a defender IF Caldwell leaves and a striker. Right now they are desperate to get rid of some squad players, Expect more to happen in the summer.

Rangers are skint, they might add a loan signing or a bosman if they can find one. Kris Boyd will sign a new contract and Mendes is off to either Sporting or Osasuna.

Lfc 4 lyf.rumourz.babel 2 leave for birmingham , riera olypiacoz, voronin moscow.kyriagos nt sure were 2.inz maxi rodrigues, quaresma, chamark n sol cambel.

I wish people would stop writing rubbish on this site especially in relation to the prem so called top 4.
As Ancelotti has already stated, Chelsea will not sign ANYONE this month. This is a FACT, he feels his squad is strong enough and that the youngsters like Sturridge can do a job.

As for Man U– they will NOT sign a goalkeeper or a defender until the summer where the top targets will be– GK– Neuer or Lloris. Def– Kjaer is main target, possibility of Cahill. Berbatov will not be sold and Ferguson would never let Rooney leave. Owen will be released and fergie will go for Benzema or Hulk as his third striker. All the talk of Aguero and Villa is utter rubbish( Villa to old and Aguero's wages are a joke!!). As for midfield– Silva will never join united as he wants to play for Barca or Real Madrid. Di Maria will join if United can get a good deal for him, fergie will not pay over the odds for him(has learnt a lesson from Berbatov). kacar of Hertha Berlin is another option.

Aresnal– Arsene Wenger is on the hunt for a target man due to injuries to VP and Bendtner. Eduardo is in need of back up. Asene will NEVER pay over the odds for a player so deals for Dzeko, Villa, Balotelli are NEVER going to happen, and RVN is about 10 years to old to be a target for Wenger. Most likely deals are either Gignac or Chamack.

Liverpool– Rafa will definately strengthen as his job is on the line if he does not get into the top 4. He undertsnads that many players have flopped this season either due to injury or poor form e.g. Skrtel and Carragher(terrible form and no pace), Insua( cannot defend), Lucas(useless– looks decent in a poor team), Aquilani(injured and not getting a chance– £20 million down the drain), Riera( injured and inconsistant), Voronin, Degen, Dossena, Babel(never been good enough). Rafa will try to save his season by loan sisgnings (no money– unless someone leaves– Napoli seem to want Dossena for some reason!!, Birmingham fancy Babel but rafa won't let him go)– only likely deals are Maxi rodriguez (almost complete), maybe one other but unkown as of yet. Delas for Van der Vaart, Van Nistelrooy or any other linked on this site are rubbish.

All the above is a realistic view of January delaings from last years top 4 so stop posting rubbish on here!!!

Celtic doing their usual nonsense of taking players on trial and then never contacting them again, its the same every season. We already lost out on De La Pena, Dani, Eremenko Jnr and several others by doing this.

Giroud to sign towards the end of the month. Between 1.5 and 2.5 million.

Caldwell and Flood away to Boro, Robson will follow if Mowbray can sign a replacement

Carlos Cueller to Barca for 14 million.
Robbie Keane and Jenas for 25 million combined with Reo–Coker going to Spurs for 5 million if Jenas deal goes through

To the person who said this:

"Celtic fans hearing lots of rumours about mcmanus joining ipswich town is there any truth in this? and how much do you rate him?"

I hope that's true mate, he is diabolical, one of the worst centre halfs i have ever seen at Celtic.

Firstly, Liverpool F.C will not be buying big in January! The reason being is that Liverpool have no money. The Americans have not given Rafa money due to them being greedy! They don't care about the football, they care about the money. Liverpool need a wealthy sheik to come in and takeover.
Rafa will be in the market to get a forward, a midfielder with speed, and maybe a centre back.
Forward will be cheap, Beckford, Pavleychenko or Adriano are being scouted out. Van Nistlerooy is injury prone he shall not be coming. Maybe Saviola?
Midfielder will either be Maxi or someone cheap who can run with the ball and attack defenders. Centre back could be Upson. He is cheap, and playign for a big team, maybe he can get into the England squad.
Truthfully, I think that we will only get one player due to the funds, and Rafa will be out in the summer. Who knows where Liverpool will be, who will be managing them and who shall own them! The future looks dark unless some money can be guranteed, but this is going to be a dream as long as the Americans are in charge.

Maxi Rodriguez is on the verge of completing a £1.5million move to Liverpool within the next 24 hours. The delay is due to the adverse weather conditionsq and travelling is the issue. A 2 and a half year deal has been agreed and Maxi will be given the number 17 jersey.

Gary Megson to sign ... on the dole at Bolton Job Centre within 28 days. If they can't find him a club within 26 weeks, he's going to sign up for an NVQ in plumbing. You heard it here first.

Alan Irvine will be interviewed on friday for the burnley job with a view to manage the club until end of season. The Burnley will make a move for Wigan Manager Roberto Martinez has he has a close in his contract which says after the end of his first season he is entitled to talk with another club

got this from a burnley player michael duff who lives next door

c.cole 10 million ish
gignac 10 million ish
cole unlikey injury prone
gignac unlikey worse option and wud prevent chamakh in the summers, mainly the dane is on his way back and if he is fit then wenger simply won't buy.
as an arsenal fan i wud like (that means its my opinion not fact pool fans) scott parker
man u and chelsea not sign anyone managers have stated this on a number of times

now to liverpool, and the clearly football manager crazed fans, villa and silva, i can only say u have lost ur minds. u have no money, u may be able to spend 5million ish plus what ever u get from sales but there is no chance u cud afford the £60 millon it wud take to sign villa and silva, plus if u even put a bid in a bidding war wud start and u wud come last.
wud like to add i hope birmingham spend loads of money buy babel and finish above liverpool

Rafa just spotted talking to david silva's agent over move to anfield in a swap deal with babel going other way

Insider: arsenal transfers gk lloris, defence sakho, upson, mid rvdv, hazard, chamakh/dzeko, cole.
outs:senderos, silvestre, rosicky, almunia.rosicky coz hasn't proved anything, injury prone
line up gk lloris, sagna, gallas, vermealen, clichy,
song, fabregas, rvdv, arshavin, rvp, cole/chamakh.

Heard about 10 mins ago that Maxi Rodriguez has signed for Liverpool news to be announced tommorow

Heard an interesting rumour today that if either babel or riera are sold liverpool will go all out an try an get Aiden Mcgeady from a source close to the club.

Celtic to swap McManus and £1million for StLedger, Celtic trying to sign Kilgallon for £1.3 million as long as his wages are in their current wage structure and caldwell leaves for £1million.

stillic and giroud to be brought in for £1.5 and 2.5 million respectively. Hinkel decicing over a a switch to Hertha berlin for £2.5m which has already been acceted by Celtic.

Pedersen had shaken hands on a £22k a week 3 year deal to come to celtic on a free in the summer and celtic trying to get a deal for him to come in now. Celtic will then have a good squad without going overboard or selling too many players and leaving Mowbray with money to use in the summer.

Mendes off to Portugal to fianlise a £1.3 million deal, Boyds agent is taking to three english clubs over a £600,000 transfer and Boughera is off to west ham for £2.8million to replace upson who is bound for villa or man city. McGregor off to spurs for £4 million.

All this money to be swallowed up bey the bank and Walter will bring in Weaver from United free, a central defender on load from lower league english side and Nade from hearts for free. Looks like Celtic for the title and Hibs for runners up when Rangers go ahead with this plan

Bristol City are in talks with Brentford and Ryan Dickson. Three year deal for 250k. Also City's Jamie McCombe is in talks with Scunthorpe about a permanent transfer for 250k.

David villa will almost certainly be joining man city in the summer. A deal is almost agreed but i have no info on the sums of money involved. Nothing will come out until the end of this season.

When England win world cup Capello will say goodbye, but hello to Man Utd. Fergie knows his time his up but will steer them through to the end of the season to leave on a high...hopefully

Any Everton News?

All i constanly hear is
– Marounane Chamakh – any truth?
– Jose Antonio Reyes
– Manuel Fernandes

I do want true reliable rumours but i would like a bit of info of the blues,

Ryan Babel was the only first teamer not informed training had been cancelled at Liverpool today.

On arrival he was taken into an office and informed of acceptable offers received from Birmingham, Bolton and Manchester City.

I got this from his agent on the way out. He apparently prefers a move to Spain or Holland, but Ajax won't bid more than £4.5m. LFC want at least £10m.

Hearts F.C.

Csaba will stick out the season, he has had enough of Romanov.
Heard that his signings will not materialize and that this is the reason he will leave for the championship.

Louis Saha wants to cross the Liverpool divide. He's instructed his agent to make his availability known.

David Moyes has enquired about Gary Neville's contract situation.

I live near st andrews and although it seems far fetched there are growing murmurings suggesting rivaldo will sign for the this space!

Sheffield Wednesday are looking to appoint Sean McAuley as the club's manager until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Derby striker Luke Varney will return to Hillsborough before Saturday's game with Peterborough. Not sure whether this will be a loan or permanent deal though!

Rivaldo on the plane to birmingham to sign for us!

I have it on good authority that the Derby County board fully expect Nigel Clough to resign his position at Derby County. Nigel has made it clear that he joined Derby for success and even rejected overtures from Forest because he was sold on the idea of what Derby were aiming to be. The board at Pride Park are said to make Alan Curbishley their number 1 target as they look to bridge the gap between themselves and the play off pack.

Interestingly enough Kris Commons is said to be determined to stay at Derby and be a success and will reject any other Championship club that comes in for him, although Hull have made initial enquiries. The player is working very hard at the minute and wants to be in contention for the Forest game where he's been talking about making sure the Derby Supporters know where his loyalty's lie and to prove himself as a Derby icon.

Just heard from a reliable source that the Maxi Rodriguez to Liverpool deal has collapsed due to being unable to agree wage structure. My source also tells me that Rafa has lined up a shock return for El Hadji Diouf as a straight swap for Voronin.

Celic fans hearing lots of rumours about mcmanus joining ipswich town is there any truth in this? and how much do you rate him?

Ji sung park is set to sign for Birmingham City for around £8million. It is thought he wants to leave due to a lack of first team opportunities.

To the strange man who said....
"The real reason behind Kris Boyd's reputed transfer down south is not performance in big games, or size of contract on offer, but more his ongoing 'relations' with fellow Rangers players wives and girlfriends (plural). Boro to overlook him on this basis as Gordon Strachan prefers to sign family men (talent often a second consideration). Birmingham or Newcastle to prevail but for only 500k – will part–service a months interest. McGregor, he of the burnt knees, to leave also, with Nicky Weaver fresh from 'letting' 7 in at the BigotDome to join on a meagre contract. Also watch out for Mendes (who now knows what the Rangers fans are singing – ala Marco Negri) to leave along with Aaron Niguez (he also knows what they are singing"

Boyd will go at the end of the season to Birmingham, Boogey will be at in the EPL at the end of the season and with any luck Mendes will be in lisbon before February. But not because he's Catholic and 'knows what the bears sing' its because we can get £1.5M which would be handy to the finance dept at ibrox. Negri left because of a halftime bust up with Gough, and McCoist who stuck it on him. Aaron left for first team football. Not because of the fans, he loved it here. If that was the case and Porrini, Gattuso, Amoruso, Johnston, Kanchelskis, Reyna, Cueller and many more wouldn't really have stated how much they love the Gers.

Typical mixing it from the Celts.

Again I must stress, unless its a loan deal, rangers will not be bringing anyone in this window.

Haris Tahirović

born 11 November 1981) is a Bosnian football player free agent who played for SC Concordia Hamburg until his release in 2009.

Is on trial with Glasgow Rangers on veiw of a deal

This is a genuine two part rumour, frst part relating to Doncaster Rovers, I am a friend of a friend of quinton fortune, ex man utd. who is currently at Rovers. He informs me that Rovers are about to shatter ther transfer record to sgn billy sharp on a permanent deal, thought to be in the region of 2.7 million. Though only actually 1.4 million up front. This looks like a definate so hapy days fr the rovers fans.
Second rumour is about my club lfc, this is more an observation from all the newspapers Ive read but it appaers dossena is leaving to napoli for 4 million, voronin to cska moscow for 1.5 million, with degen staying put and maxi rodriguez coming in for 1.5 million. Thus seems like good business to me, but I fear for the long term future, when we have become reliant on signing players based on sales cash genereated. Rafa's doing a good job with limited means, but seriously the yanks need stringing up, I was happy when they took over, but ther outright lying ( stadium) and profiterring ( xabi alonso) will destroy us if left unchecked, i can see years of mid table mediocrity stretching out in front of us if things don't change. Rant over, the only ray of light is that Utd are even worse off, not right now, but when giggs and scholes retire your done for, huge debt no cash, and loads of also rans, happy days

My cousin is notts county skipper john thompson and he will agree to join derby in the next few days as notts county look to ease there financial position. fee thought to be around £200,000. Also heard a rumour that alex mcCleish will sign an extremely big name in the next few days for birmingham, havnt heard any specific names though.

My oh my, all these Celtic/Rangers rumours are pretty poor to say the least. Dreamt up wishlists of players leaving. I'm a Celtic fan but it is patently obvious that Rangers are NOT going to sell Kris Boyd. Yeah they are in debt and need money but not that badly that they will sell their best striker for a meagre 1.5m! P Mendes to Sporting, and possibly Boogie away if the buying club is willing to take albeit a good player but one who is away to the ACN for a good chunk of the remainder of the season. I have no idea of players in if any. Celtic linked with Kitson on loan, St Ledger, Killgannon, Snodgrass, Gamst, Giroud and Keane (never going to happen) but these are only relevant if Moggas wishlist of outgoing dross materialises. Scottish football is in a poor state of play and it saddens me. Mon magical Paddy McCourt!

An unbiased fan

'Guys, note no spelling errors in this post. Not that hard is it?' Maybe no spelling mistakes pal, but Aaron Niguez went back to spain at the end last season. Maybe you should have picked another Spaniard, does Novo know what we're singing about?

Anyway, Boyd won't be leaving, though it looks like Mendes and Bougherra will be. Suprise, suprise, it's not just Boyd that big Eck has been admiring but also these two. Though he's been injured of late, Mendes has the proven Premiership quality that McLeish is searching for but he'll have to fight off Sporting Lisbon. The wayward Algerian Bougherra is also on the list to add quality and pace to the Birmingham back line, though Rangers will demand a substantial sum. Beasley has also attracted bids from various European clubs, and it'll be interesting to see how much Walter values his recent contribution. If he does go then an another American may well replace him, the Aberdeen born Holden who is now a free agent. Only other signs of players coming in are murmers of loan deals from Man Utd, with Nani looking to get first team football to secure his World cup place after being frozen out at Old Trafford(Though he'll likely end up at Benfica, sporting or Porto)... It could be a long January but we will galvanise and use what Celtic can't buy, our fighting spirit and winning mentality! Tabloid Tam! WATP!

Maxi has just signed, I have just handed the paperwork over to the filing team.

Good deal

Celtic are preparing to make a move for Sean St Ledger, the highly–rated Preston North End defender. Tony Mowbray has identified the Irish internationalist as one of his main targets during the current transfer window as he aims to make major changes to his playing squad. With defender Gary Caldwell expected to leave as he enters the final six months of his existing contract, and Stephen McManus seemingly deemed surplus to requirements, the purchase of a new defender is a priority. Mowbray has drafted a list of players which he has passed on to chief executive Peter Lawwell, and is eager to bring St Ledger on board if it is financially viable. It is understood the 25–year–old has been made aware of Celtic's interest and is excited by the prospect, but the transfer fee could prove a stumbling block. Preston want around £3m and that could prove too much of an outlay as Mowbray has identified other areas of the team which he would also like to improve this month.

Celtic are continuing to track Sheffield United centre–back Matthew Kilgallon. But they are keen to avoid an auction with other interested clubs, including Newcastle, for the man who will be out of contract in the summer and who is holding out for wages of £25, 000 per week.

The club's focus on strengthening their defence and attack could mean a frustrating wait for Bosnian midfielder Semir Stilic. He is desperate for Celtic to make a firm offer to his club, Lech Poznan. Celtic have been monitoring the 22–year–old attacking midfielder for the past year. Lech Poznan are now ready to sell, and a fee of around £1.75m might be enough to land the man who has already won four caps.

With negotiations to secure French striker Olivier Giroud still ongoing, any move for Stilic could be put on hold.

Talks with Middlesbrough over their bid to take Caldwell and Barry Robson to The Riverside have taken place, but Wigan and Bolton are not showing a serious interest in the defender who is out of contract in June.

Derry City have revealed Celtic have moved into pole position to sign 18–year–old midfielder Darren McCauley, if they agree to pay £10,000.

American billionaire Lawrence Ellison is lining up a take–over bid of Aston Villa. The 64 year–old who is worth $22.5 Billion reportedly has ancestors from Birmingham. He aims to transform Villa into a Prem winning team and to construct a new 60,000 seater stadium.

Jzusjtin Tzhenowzkji

MON has moved to sign Scott Parker for around the £6 million mark, also Robbie Keane could be heading to the Villa for about £8 million.Another possible target is Eidhur Gudjohnson who hasnt settled in Monaco.

Players leaving are : Shorey – Forest , Hokey cokey – Fulham , Sidwell – Bolton, Gardener – Wolves and very unfortunatley John Carew to Liverpool.

The truth shall set you free

Brentford linked with season long loan of Arsenal Polish International goalkeeper

Swindon Town are being linked with the following:

Pericard (Carlisle) out of contract now
Morgan (Aldershot) 6'4 target man
Akinfenwa (Northampton) goalscoring powerhouse
Showunmi (Leeds)6'5 target man

Arter (Woking) the next non league star to sign for town
Robson–Kanu (Reading) another loan for the winger

No names but maybe a non–league centre back to arrive

And outs could be:
Aljofree – on loan
Easton – on loan
Hutchinson – back to celtic
Smith – Jesionkowski to be new back upkeeper
Casal – on loan

Leeds look set to boost their promotion credentials with some big name signings from the Championship in January. Former Man City striker Jon Macken will be joining up with former West Brom striker Lee Hughes to replace Beckford and Becchio up front. Grayson will look to strengthen his defence with Dean Leacock, and a swap deal for Forest's Welsh international Arron Davies looks to be on the cards.

Leeds United IN:
Arron Davies (N. Forest) – SWAP DEAL
Jon Macken (Barnsley) – £500k
Dean Leacock (Derby) – £300k
Lee Hughes (N. County) – £250k

Leeds United OUT:
Jermaine Beckford (Hull) – £1 million
Robert Snodgrass (N. Forest) – SWAP DEAL
Luciano Becchio (Doncaster) – £500k

Leeds Snooper

Liverpool have taken a punt on the free–transfer signing of highly regarded Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh .

David villa is likly to move to united

Here's my verdict on the names in the frame:

Mario Balotelli (19, Inter Milan, £20million)
Wenger has already admitted he is a big admirer of the Inter Milan hot shot – but has completely dismissed any chance of a deal.

Chelsea are keen and that Arsenal cannot compete in a £20million auction. "There is no chance, " said Wenger.
Transfer rating: 0/5

Edin Dzeko (23, Wolfsburg, £25million)
The giant 6ft 3in striker is top of Wenger's wanted list. Bar none. He's got all the qualities: he's prolific, has pace and a physical presence. But getting him is another matter.

Arsenal have tracked him for more than a year, had a £10million bid turned down last summer and Wolfsburg value him at £30million. Furthermore, Dzeko has set his heart on a move to AC Milan. As such, the chances of Arsenal getting their man are slim.
Transfer rating: 3/5

Ruud van Nistelrooy (33, Real Madrid, loan)
On the surface, it may seem utterly unrealistic that an ex–Manchester United, Gooners hate figure could join Arsenal.

But if time is running out, things are getting desperate and players are not back from injury, then Wenger may consider it. The boss has already laughed it off but sometimes needs must...

Real Madrid are ready to let him go out on loan in January to help his fitness levels and Liverpool have pulled out of the running.
Transfer rating: 2/5

Marouane Chamakh (25, Bordeaux, £3million)
Wenger had the chance to sign Chamakh last summer – and quibbled over £1million.

Bordeaux wanted £6million but Arsenal offered £5million – and how they must now regret not going the extra yard for the Moroccan.

Arsenal have made discreet enquiries again about a deal in January and Chamakh says the Gunners want him to sign now. But it's much more likely to happen when the striker will be available for free in the summer.
Transfer rating: 3

Andre–Pierre Gignac (24, Toulouse, £15million)
A big, powerful French international. Not so prolific this season after scoring plenty of goals last season.

There was big interest in him last summer, his value may have dropped a bit and Gignac may yet emerge as the number one target this summer because others are out of range.
Transfer rating: 4/5

Carlton Cole (26, West Ham, £9million)
The England striker is definitely on Wenger's radar; he likes Cole because he's big, strong and scores goals.

But Arsenal have fears about his injury record and doubts as to whether he has a long–running knee problem. That almost certainly kills off a January deal, especially as he's currently out injured.
Transfer rating: 2/5

Gabriel Agbonlahor (23, Aston Villa, £20million)
This one is a non–starter in January. But if ever the Villa forward fancied a move then there is no bigger fan of Agbonlahor than Wenger because of his pace and ability to destroy opponents.
Transfer rating: 0/5

Eden Hazard (18, Lille, £6million)
Rather like Brazilian Wellington Silva and Anderlecht's teenager Romelu Lukaku, Belgian starlet Hazard is one for the future.

Arsenal have been tracking Hazard for months and may follow Silva to the Premier League at the right price. But they're all for the future.
Transfer rating: 1/5

New rumours of Liverpool being interested in Marouane Chamakh are not true. Rafa has held talks with Chamakh's agent but only because Arsenal are trying to raise Carlton Cole's price by showing their interest.
Arsenal are not interested in Cole but are doing what most top clubs do. Raising the price of their rival's targets.
Maxi Rodriguez deal DONE. Rafa has accepted 10M plus add ons for Babel.
Rafa will get Carlton Cole either now or in the summer. –007–

Everton FC Transfer rumours

Tony Hibbert (3m) Bolton
John Ruddy (loan) Motherwell
Lukas Jutkiewicz (loan) Motherwell

Burnley will interview Alan Irvine and Steve Coppell for the job FACT

Bad news for all United fans, Rooney is on his way out in the summer. If you havent noticed SAF is already looking for a player to replace Rooney, who plays the same sort of striking role, and that player is Hulk. SAF has been offered 60M plus benzema by Real Madrid. Expect to see SAF take this offer and use the 60M to sign a top class midfielder (Silva). So next years striking partnership will be Hulk and Benzema.

You heard it here first, Pagey

Burnley are to approach Leeds about taking Simon Grayson as their new manager. They were impressed with his teams FA Cup win at the weekend and the way he has moulded a team capable of winning promotion.

Derby manager Nigel Clough looks set to resign after the club's American owners refused to give him the funds needed to secure his top targets for the January transfer window.

Clough, who took over at Pride Park a year ago, has already had to deal with the fact that Derby's star players, such as striker Rob Hulse and midfielder Kris Commons, need to be sold this month in order to balance the books. But he is now fuming that he won't be able to pursue his list of targets, who are thought to be:

– Ben Harding (Aldershot, £250,000)
– Conal Platt (Forest Green Rovers, £80,000)
– Ian Herring (Northwich Victoria, £75, 000)
– Trevor Benjamin (Bradford Park Avenue, £45, 000)

It is thought that the former Burton Albion manager is set to hand in his resignation before saturday's game at home to Scunthorpe United

Hate to kill all the liverpool rumours but on 96.7 radio city today, which is a radio station in liverpool they reported that rafa has very likely got no money to spend in this transfer window even through player sales. So all the people saying he's gonna sign maybe this player and that your wrong, we will be lucky to get a loan or 2 by what radio was saying.

Does any one have any true leeds united rumours

Neil Warnock to be announced Burnley manager later in the week

Bristol City set to sign Michael Raynes from Stockport County. The Big centre half was given a glowing refernce to Gary Johnson from Christian Riberio while he was on loan at Stockport County.

Bristol city are also in talks to sign George Boyd from peterborough and Thomas Kennedy from Rochdale with Bradley Orr set to sign for Blackburn, Cole skuse to stoke and jamie mccombe to be sold to scunthorpe to make cash available.

Aston Villa are after Benoit Pedretti of Auxerre to solve their creative midfielder problem. About 6 million is the fee which will be partly funded by Craig Gardner leaving.

Ive just seen a snowman outside St Marys in Southampton, he is set to sign on a frozen contract for 3 days

on a serious note, Freddy Eastwood and Elliott Ward are set to complete a double move worth £2.8m to Southampton by the weekend

Adam matthews is flying from cardiff heliport to the arsenal training ground at london colney at midday.

deal to be done by the end of the week, wenger willing to give £3m which cardiff will put towards clearing debts.

fellow cardiff youngster aaron wildig will join man utd for £1m after fergie sent scouts to a recent reserve game to monitor him.

!!Glasgow Rangers!!

All of my posts before have been 100% bang on!!

Middlesbrough are in talks with Kris Boyd but Rangers have agreed a deal with Sporting Lisbon for £1.3m for Pedro Mendes. This deal will be done to free up money too offer Kris Boyd a new contract.

Rangers are also in talks with Aberdeen born, USA International Stuart Holden. He is currently a free agent after MLS Club Houston Dynamo failed to agree on an improved new deal. He is also on trial with Burnley but Rangers have already offered Holden a contract.

And last but not least...

Rangers have Brazilian Playmaker Cassio Lincoln on Trail. He is a free agent and was released from Galatasaray in July 2009. He is impressing the Rangers coaches and will be offered a contract by the end of next week.

I have never been wrong when posting these Facts – not rumours!!

One player for certain who will leave this transfer window is DaMarcus Beasley. He is being lined up by a host of clubs all over Europe and the MLS.

Brentford's Andy Scott is rumoured to be a front runner for the soon to be vacant manager's spot at Burnley. If the move took place Scott is likely to make overtures to bring some of his current squad with him to Turf Moor with Cleveland Taylor a strong candidate to form a wide pairing with Chris Eagles.

Notts County close to securing a investment of about 10–12M from a private investor in Germany

This will mean Sven leaving as the investment is so low but it mean notts can cgo back into the Transfer market later in the month

Also Notts will sign Jones from Wolves for 250,000 and take Moloney back from Forest on season loan

Liverpool transfers confirmed:
Out: Dossena, Voronin and Degan.
In: Maxi Rodriguez and Joaquin Boghossian.
A short post but true.

These are the rumours that i am hearing regarding west ham that has been passed on to me by a former player who is still close to a few of the players and coaching staff.

first off expect west ham to be sold withing the next week, money will be avaliable for transfers but don't expect big signings, zola with spend big at the end of the season. None of the stars players will be sold unless they wish to leave and suitable replacements will be made.

G ZOLA will be looking for a new RB and a new ST, hutton will not be signing this is a fact! zola despite reports is also not looking at osvaldo of bolgnia. Mario Ballotelli is still an option.

will update wenever, if any one has any other west ham news it will be greatly appreciated on my behalf also

cheers MR ITK

Strong rumour around Brentford at the AGM last night was that Brentford have put in a bid for Akindi. Scott was impressed by his form last season and continues to be a fan this season and he is needed to replace Carl Cort who is signing for Wycombe in the next few days.

Rumors has it, that Arsenal are ready to bid for 19 yr old Cluj striker Lacina Traore.Cluj have confirmed that Arsenal have contacted them, but still nothing is concrete.the guy is called the next Drogba, who is 6 8"

Notts County will go into administration after talks with potential investors stalled.

There will be further questions asked by the FA and Football League over the original Munto investment with Peter Trembling, Peter Willis and former chairman John Armstrong–Holmes due to face a panel in February.

Notts County could face possible demotion to the Conference or even Northern Premier, so I am told, if the club goes into liquidation. Notts would have to abandon Meadow Lane and ground–share with Arnold Town.

Bad times at OT – though Sir Alex had been assured that this would be a transition season and funds would be available from the CR transfer for next season, the goalposts have shifted, so to speak.

SAF was very sure about the quality of the youngsters viz the da Silva twins, Foster, Gibson, Obertan, Welbeck and Macheda... however, the last performance has given him some food for thought, not to mention Nani's stupidity as well. MU are barely getting by this season (much credit to our no 10 for it) – with Giggs having to play left wing (instead of that idiotic Portuguese) and use all his guile since there is not much pace left.. and with the abovementioned youngsters not being able to make as much a contribution as expected...

As such, SAF had a list of quality signings to be made in the summer who would help replace Neville and Scholes and sold players – a striker (Villa/Dzeko), a left winger (Young/Silva/Suarez too), an attacking mid (Silva/Gourcuff), GK (Neuer/Cesar/Adler/Akinfeev), DC (Kjaer/Shawcross), DM (Rodwell/Veloso) which would all be funded by the CR sale + Berbatov and Owen's sales (~25–30mill for the two together) + Nani sales (~12mill) + his usual budget for the last summer as well as next summer (~35 mill – after accounting for Valencia and Obertan).

SAF still has faith in the current crop of kids and wants to develop them like the Fledglings, without the pressure of CL/ big–game PL football. The !$!#$#$ owners however have asked him to stick around with the current lot, and work with a budget of maximum 30million + sales for next summer AND still deliver titles without breaking a sweat... which is where the goalposts have shifted.

Sir Alex is completely fuming, and don't be surprised at MAJOR changes at OT at the end of the season..

The big man in the "know".stop talking pish about hibs rumours. truth is you know feck all.i.e riordan to middlesboro rule. bamba will be going to the english prem. ok

West Ham's owners will want all potential bidders to 'put up or shut up' and launch official bids by January 31st.

The owners have said they do not have to sell, but may accept a high price now instead of risk losing money should West Ham be relegated.

To the guy who said this:
I saw david bentleyy in a bentley outside old trafford.

How would he go to Old Trafford without being spotted by Sky Sports, there is no news on there about Bentley to United there are not even rumours on there in fact.
United will be signing few players this month 1 or 2 tops. These are out of Villa and Silva (both Valencia), Defour (Standard Liege), Cahill (Bolton) and Dzeko (Wolfsburg).

The real reason behind Kris Boyd's reputed transfer down south is not performance in big games, or size of contract on offer, but more his ongoing 'relations' with fellow Rangers players wives and girlfriends (plural). Also watch out for Mendes (who now knows what the Rangers fans are singing – ala Marco Negri) to leave along with Aaron Niguez (he also knows what they are singing)

Guys, note no spelling errors in this post. Not that hard is it?

Russell Hoult – £100,000

Nigel Quashie – £200,000

I know someone who works at Burnley who told me tonight that Kilby has a shortlist of Neil Warnock, Alan Irvine and Steve Coppell.

Interesting developments in the Man Utd game. The well reported player supposedly leaving to the circus of Madrid is agitating in relation to his contract. He has rightly said there is no bust up with Sir Alex, why should there be? Sir Alex has no issue with a new contract, the problem is extracting anything from the owners at the moment. A game of bluff which is likely to see a £7M signing become a £20m plus sale. There is frustration amongst senior players at the chances a certain Bulgarian seems to get when not producing. The worries are that Sir Alex has an obsession with proving the No9 is what he said and he can't let another major purchase like Veron turn bad on him. His legacy could be tarnished for 2 perhaps injudicious purchases rather than the successful ones. Senior players recognise that despite all the silky skills the No9 lacks pace and workrate. They think he may not be able to cope with the pressure. The wonderful No10 is being asked for too much, having to shoulder far too much responsibility and work this season. They are worried what will happen to the team if he is missing. Light at the end of the tunnel is that the FA Cup exit was the watershed. Time is nearly up for the No9, there are some who are even secretly pleased that it has reached a point where it needs to be dealt with. There is also a little uncertainty about the Assistant Manager after the Leeds defeat, (surprisingly touted for the Burnley role) as it is felt he lacks the inventive new ideas of the previous incumbents in the role. Sir Alex would sort this out but is frustrated (as previously reported by another poster)with the move in goalposts as to what is expected with minimal funds. It will be resolved but more likely in summer. All alledgedly of course. The Lighthouse

Hi all, ive heard that holloway is once again going to pursue akinfenwa after failing to agree terms in the summer, the bid is rumoured to be around 300k as the big centre forward has hit 9 in 18 starts and wants to play at a higher level, the deal fell through in the summer as holloway thought burgess was the same sort of player and wasnt willing to offer akinfenwa a big contract however with leeds intreseted in burgess as a replacement for beckford, akinfenwa to blackpool might not be far away this january if they can sort out personal terms
