After only a handful of first team matches Reading 'keeper Alex Mcarthey is being sounded out by several top sides, Arsenal and Chelsea have had scouts at his recent matches, running the rule over him, Mcarthey is also on Roy Hodgsons radar, having watched him last Saturday against Fulham

Well he was pretty average on loan to us.

He has come on a lot over the past year and has been highly impressive in the matches he has played so far this season, he is only a young lad still very much in the early part of his career, massive potential though and will only get batter the more he plays.

I think having also seen him play on loan to us he is potentially a decent keeper but unless he has come on a huge amount in a vert short space of time I cant see the big clubs going for him unless as a backup for there 25 man squads. I also recall his kicking and distrubtuion was not very good

Have you seen him this season? He has been immense. How he gets over looked for the national squad whilst that overrated Butland gets in is beyond me.

"Well he was pretty average on loan to us."

You can't judge a player by a brief loan spell

Maybe because he doesnt give a damn about Ipswich and is Reading through and through. Have fun in league one next season

So immense that he dribbled the ball into Defoe and almost conceded another goal in the 3-1 defeat to Tottenham! Good Keeper, needs more playing time. He's a great goal keeper for an underdog team where the goal is bombarded by shots but like Federici when it's just the occassional shot he can be prown to mistakes.

Be fair. That was his first game in the prem and he's only 22. He's got another 15 years ahead of him and with Joe Hart making mistakes noes his chance to make a move for a spot in the England squad. Once he returns from injury.

All keepers make mistakes. you can't judge him on the spurs game alone. since then he has just got better due to getting more playing time.

if takeover of birmingham goes through their first target will be craig gardener of sunderland and carlton cole of west ham

Huddersfield Town are been linked with January moves for Ross Wallace from Burnley and Fraizer Campbell from Sunderland

Wallace is out of contract in the summer and unless he's willing to take a reduced contract (he was signed just after our relegation and is on a hefty wage!) then he probably won't re-sign for us.

If you want him then a sensible offer will probably get him- and Dyche will use the money freed up to strengthen elsewhere!

If were looking at Wallace does that mean Hammill's going back to Wolves

Rotherham monitoring Luton striker Stuart Fleetwood and are considering a January bid of around 50k for him. Alec Denton going the opposite way on a season long loan could seal the deal.

Not gunna happen ! fleets just settled in MK with his daughter and missus hes here to stay

This would be good, always rated Fleetwood

Heard a few different transfer buzzings around recently and it's still only November (People must be picking out targets early, makes sense to get a grip of what you need to do in advance I guess). Anyway these are the ones I've heard:

Manchester United look like they may sell Danny Welbeck to Sunderland who are looking for goal scorers.

Stoke are looking into the possibility of taking Rickie Lambert off of Southampton. They may try an exchange deal but I imagine it's unlikely they will get him without the right fee.

Several Premiership teams are apparently interested in Wilfred Zaha of Crystal palace. Southampton, Newcastle, Fulham and Norwich are said to be eyeing up bids.

Southampton and Fulham also are interested in other young Championship wingers Ince and Phillips of Blackpool.

Reading look like they may put in a bid to sign Carlton Cole off of West Ham.

Final rumour I heard was that Arsenal, Aston Villa and Everton are all chasing the signature of Christian Eriksen of Ajax. The youngster has been impressive for them recently.

Spurs and Arsenalnfront runners for Zaha

Southampton are not in anyway getting anyone from blackpool

This is all ancient press speculation, much of it rolling around for at least two months.
Why on earth would Lambert go to Stoke?? Not going to happen, similar to the other posts. And with CP doing so well, and Zaha on a long term contract why would he be sold in January??

Reading do not want Carlton Cole. They want centre backs

Reading Bought Mariappa, why are they not using him if they are so desperate for Centre backs?

Reading do not need centre backs

Zaha to Norwich, Fulham or Southampton . They would have to sell their stadiums to raise the money and even then why would he go to those clubs lol.
Liverpool paid 20m for Downing and Zaha is twice the player!

Reading need a new team to stay up. Their going down with souhampton and QPR. The mighty pool will replace them and win the premier league. Come on the pool

Liverpool paid £20m for Downing-yes, and how much for Carroll? Just because they were taken for mugs doesn't mean they will be again, or any other club.
Zaha will cost what a club is willing to pay and I can't see that above £10m, however, it is possibly not an issue because CP could take him into the Premiership, and then, if he has any sense he should stick with them a while because at least he would get to play regularly.

"Reading need a new team to stay up. Their going down with southampton and QPR. The mighty pool will replace them and win the premier league. Come on the pool"

What a poor statement. The three clubs in the bottom three in may will go down not the ones currently there. Plenty of time for the table to change

Erm yes Reading do need centre backs. The donkey Gorkss isnt good enough and Pearce obviously wants out. Reading have enough goals in their side to stay up, its the centre of midfield and centre of defence they need to strengthen. Anyway Cole is rubbish, no better than Roberts, Hunt or Pogrebnyak

Mariappa is injured. That's why we're playing Sean Morrison who has previously only played at League 1 level (although he's pretty good). Reading want a CB, a LB, and a CM.

Out of favour Huddersfield striker Alan Lee could make a sensational return to his former club Rotherham in January. Chesterfield and Bristol Rovers are also interested in his services.

It wouldn't be a 'sensible return', he is 34. He hasn't been that good in League One for the last couple of seasons so it isn't any wonder that he is out of favour with Huddersfield now in the Championship. However I can see him playing out the rest of his career for a League Two team like Rotherham, that is believable.

The players Evans wants to send out on loan from Rotherham are Lawrie Wilson, Alec Denton and Mitch Rose. Wilson will be off to his former club Morecambe or Accrington Stanley after a bust up with evans and will leave permanently in January. Alec Denton and Mitch Rose will join Macclesfield and AFC Wimbledon respectively to gain first team experience but still feature in Evans' long term plans.

Shrewsbury going to sack turner this week and
look for new manager in the next few weeks

What has he done wrong?.

You must be joking if you think that Turner will ever be sacked by the Shrews.
Keep the faith!

They have just given him the freedom of the city --- up the shrews

He can go?? but club want to keep him please let's him go ok

Turner ain't going anywhere.

Yes need to get rid now or turner will take us back down again past his sell bye date

I think that he should stay at the club but maybe not as manager.

Bad start to the season and you all know better than him, think he knows more than these people saying sack him, without him we wouldnt be where we are, get behind them!!

This is great idea look where we are in the table

See this didnt happen, and yeah we are still in the division above we were in last season ;)

west brom interested in signing belgian under 21 left back laurens de bock, clarke sees de bock as perfect competition with liam ridgewell, de bock will cost around 2-3m

04 Nov 2012 15:21:19
Huntelaar apparently going to sign for liverpool with a fee of £6m after a contract deal with shalke broke down

Yep, Liverpool are going to snatch Huntelaar from under the noses of all other interested clubs for less than they paid for that donkey Adams! Dream on!

A top european striker sold for peanuts to a club that in all due respect will do well to gain a top 10 finish

Sheffield united to bring in 5 players in jan.
Looking at bringing back Williamson

With what money! We're broke!

I can see us bringing a few players in come January but not 5. And bringing Williamson back is a good shout considering he is on a month-by-month deal at Portsmouth.

Jacob Esan said money would be made available to us in 6-9 months back in August, so I doubt the money will be ready for the January window. However we still need to focus on promotion and we will be able to splash some cash in the summer, hopefully as a Championship club.

Stoke city are looking to make 4Deals in January,

1) Stoke are looking to Sign Blackburns Left Back Martin Ollson for around 3 Million

2)They are looking to Part exchange offer with Southampton for Rickie Lambert, a deal which includes Kenwyne Jones

3) They are looking to do another Part Exchange offer with Burnley for Striker Charlie Austin, a deal which includes Cameron Jerome and around 3million.

4)Stoke are also considering a move for Ghanaian winger Solomon Asante.

Kenwyne Jones will never be welcome back at Saints after he sulked and went on strike last time so can't see that happening

OK, Ollson I can see happening. I can't see Southampton letting Lambert go especially for Kenwyne Jones who isn't exactly on good terms with there club. They won't want him back. If Stoke will get Lambert I imagine it would be a hefty fee but no part exchange. I can however see a part exchange for Austin as Burnley would need some form of replacement plus the cash would help them too. Don't know who Solomon Asante is so no comment on him.

Haha u mad u crazy u nuts u for real rickie lambert to stoke mate u think weir gonna let our goalmachine go u must be joking mate nd a part exchange deal for kenyne jones whos a top championship player at best u come up with some nuts stuff.so much other reasons why lambert wouldnt go

Why would saints want
kenwyne jones back
not going to happen

Lambert won't leave saints.

As a burnley fan Burnley cannot afford jeromes massive wage and we want a cash deal of least 8m

Jones can't cut it anymore at any club he's at,as a striker he's about the same use Emile Heskey was as a striker.
Why would Saints let Rickie go for a nothing with bad attitude like Jones.
Not in a million years.

Rodriguez cost Southampton 7.5mil approx. Austin as europes 2nd top scorer and only 23 will cost similar if not more. Therefore this rumour values Jerome at 5m. Doubt it highly.

Rodrigues supposedly cost 6.5 million (although the true figure was not released), generally European players can move at cheaper rates but I'd be surprised if he didn't cost more than 7 million for any side to sign him.

Liverpool Fc after going to try to get Doris DeVires from Wolverhampton Wanderers in January , LFC originally offered one million pounds for the Dutch shot stopper but Wolves valued him at three million pounds.

DeLaSuso.

Is he actually good?

No, he's been terrible for wolves but apparently he was good for swansea

Just like borini, he was good under BR for Chelsea and Swansea, and he comes to lfc and he's awful

To be fair to Borini, Rodgers has played him out of position in almost every game on the wing and playing Suarez as the striker, Suarez needs to be played on the wing as a false nine and Borini in the center.

Robin Shroot could be on his way to Mkdons after wanting a move away from stevenage.

04 Nov 2012 09:55:57
MkDons Mick Harford seems interested in Cambridge keeper Zac Barrett after a wonderful performance against the Dons. Karl Robinson is looking for a goalscorer so perhaps Cambridge City striker Hammond already with 17 goals this season could be a surprise move.( Jamie Vardy is doing well for Leicester-maybe Hammond could do the same)

04 Nov 2012 09:38:49
Keith Curle to be given the Blackpool job after he was given permission to speak to Tangerines straight after the win at Pompey.
Impressive away record for the magpies.

Who makes up all this rubbish. KC is going nowhere

Spoke to an ex notts player yesterday, indeed KC wants out, lack of backing from the board and failure to attract a striker, owner apparently talks a good game but will not fund and signings, rumours he wants to sell {Ed003's Note - well he would be going to the wrong club for backing then}

I can see this happening

Look at all the signings Notts made in the summer, some of real quality. That doesnt sound like a chairman not backing the manager.Get your facts right.

BRISTOL CITY NEWS; STEVE LANSDOWN HAS CALLED FOR A MEETING WITH Derek McInnes ON MONDAY MORNING TO FIND OUT WHAT IS GOING ON AND THE BEST WAY FORWARD,

About time lansdown talk to the players findout whats going on cant wait for monday

Hopefully he will get the boot and city to put their money where their mouth is and not go for the cheap option again

Well lets hope lansdown gives him money to get a descent defence i would sell pitman and stead to get more money in because dm is ruining there careers leaving them in the reserves

We all know where the problem is, the lack of big right sided central defender, sadly Mcinnes wasted too much time trying to sign Keogh and Monk whilst other targets signed elsewhere. This was Mcinnes's main position to fill and we still have not managed it.

Too many players being played out of position, sadly lacking any creativity in the centre of midfield, and after almost a year in charge the manager has failed to fill the positions that needs to strengthen the side and now with a quarter of the season gone still does not know his best team.

The biggest problem is not his lack of signing a centre back it is consistently playing players who are out of form Fontaine Skuse FOster to name but three the other big problem is that Del Boy has lost the respect of the players due to not dropping Fontaine and always having MOndays off work to stay in Scotland for a extra day , the view is he is not working hard enough

Well the best way forward would be for SL to give Del the money to get in the Players he wants. We have been peeny pinching again this pre season and altho Del has brought in some quality Davis Baldock Heaton Anderson Cunningham we also missed out on Bucsaky Monk Gerrald Keogh and others due to our strict wage cap. We will never compete with other teams in this league unless we pay the going rate for quality players. Given time Del will turn this round keep the faith.

Get real hes signed quality thats a good thing but he doesnt know how to play them get rid now

Joe Jordan expected at Ashton gate sometime on Thursday to talk about a part time role as director of football with a mind to making it full time if both parties are happy next season.

It appears that Joe Jordan has been offered a role at Ashton Gate. As to what that role is we shall have to wait until later in the week.

Del will be in place until mid December no matter what, they will not switch out a manager when he doesnt have the chance to change things.

I would say the on field issue is not the lack of a certain player or type of player, but a complete lack of confidence and organisation throughout the whole side.

If City had their strongest side out they could compete, if most of the side was playing near peak ability.

You cant legislate fro how poor players like Wilson, Fontaine, Skuse, Pearson, and Albert have been in the last month.

They are championship players struggling hopelessly, they didnt become awful over night they are just out of form.

We need to turn it around and take responsibility for the problems we created ourselves. Its not change the manager and change the players, its lets get it right and make these lads earn the contracts they have signed.

The papers are saying that Joe Jordan has put his name forward for the Scotland job, can't see him sighning for us until that job is settled, although I believe he still has a house in Bristol.

Whats dm excuse going to be tonight for losing yet again its time for him to go

I have heard about JJ possible return. A mate of mine sits in the Williams stand oposite the Dolman stand, where I am. JJ was at the Leeds game writing notes.

Ive noticed teams before they play bristol city threaten us maybe were to soft should start warning these teams because look ar past results rovers beat us 0.2 then we beat them 2.4 we will turn it around

The Swindon Board will decide this week on Dicano,as his interviews with the media has gone over the top.
Plus his attitude with his playes, seems a dressing room revolt may happen.
As to rumours of millions to be invested
by Saudi's agin all this is is yet another smoke screen.
Fans like Dicanio however even the most faithfull
are questioning his judgement.
So looks as if the writng is on the wall
for Dicanio.
He has been his own enemy and his temprement and passion may have cost him his job

Yawnnnn! I just wish for once the guys that write about Swindon would concentrate on their own team. Why are so many people obsessed with STFC? I bet they Ed's get st least 20 posts a day on Swindon!

It is a worrying time for swindon town, false investment rumours, manager that has flipped his lid and embargo remains in place. The off field problems are effecting team spirit hence going out of the cup.

Ok so the post above knows what is going on with Swindon? Lets wait and see waft happens with Swindon, I wonder what team he supports.

6 points off automatic promotion, just lost to prem side3-2,yeh loads of injuries, the wheels have definitely come off.

HELLO SWINDON FAN HERE...Some STFC FANS LOVE PDC..NUT their are alot of unhappy fans saying they dont care if he goes as he is now becomeing a joke..
All he does is blame other players to the press then blames the embargo...
GOOD LUCK TO WHO EVER GETS HIM

Clearly a wind up merchant who has neither spoken to a Town fan nor been in the CG on matchday. Let's move onto ridiculing the next pathetic attempt to stir things up.

Dicanio is the best manager swindon have had for years so what if he wants motivated players players who work for there shirts and he wants more players to make them work harder

PDC is going nowhere so stop typing rubbish

I've been a swindon fan for 25 years - so - a large number of fans are getting tired of di canio. You cant fault his effort and desire - he wants the club to win - but he's a dictator and refuses to take the blame for poor team performances - he needs to learn - hes the manager and the buck stops with him. As a result it wont be long until he loses the dressing room and is forced to move on. (Remember everyone's replaceable)

Not a cat in hell's chance?

Get out , di canio has changed the whole face of this club since hes joined from the partying footballer lifestyle, to that of hard work and success.. and hes definetly exciting! forza paolo!!

Hearts could lose up to 3 players in January as their financial woes continue. Left back Danny Grainger is attracting interest from 3 Premier League sides. Ryan McGowan is another player being linked to England with Milwall casting their eye over the midfielder. The final player is Andrew Driver who has caught the interest of 2 unnamed clubs, 1 from England and another bizarely from Holland.

04 Nov 2012 00:51:38
Hearts left back Danny Grainger looks set to leave the SPL side this January. Aston Villa look to set to make a move for the 26 year old ace. A fee of around £500,000 could be enough to see the deal pushed through.

Villa have more than enough left back's.
They need more centre & right back's

rene howe is a janurary target for port vale. lee collins is to return to vale in jan, micky adams is also keen on ryan lowe

I would be very happy with Howe and Pope

Adams would prefer dagnal. This will be his first signing when vale come out of administration

The first signing will not be Dagnall. It will be a current Bradford city player and it is not Richie jones. I have been told not to disclose who it is untill it is offical as not to alert other clubs

The first signing will be an ex-premiership footballer now at Bradford.

04 Nov 2012 00:45:54
Darren Bent is on the radar for Italian giants AC Milan. Milan who are struggling this season could look to the out of favour hitman to fire them in to a champions league spot.

Ac milan,ha ha,best thing seen on these pages for years, problem is bent thinks he is good.

04 Nov 2012 00:43:52
Wigan Athletic could be set to make a £4.5m bid for Blackpool starlet Tom Ince. Although Ince is being scouted by other PL clubs, Martinez believes that Wigan's style of play could tempt the midfielder to leave in January.

Sorry, but no chance at £4.5m. Probably double that, and you can't afford it so look elsewhere.

Ha ha ha ha 4.5m, you would not even get his left leg for that try more in the region of 15M +

No no no no chance stop posting rubbish we had this all Summer and nothing happens so

This is extremely likely as Wigan often snap up young talent from the championship and make them into good players- moses, nzogbia, valencia

And do any of these play for you now. No. Ince will go to a team to Stay and play not to devolp and leave. Thats what he is doing at the pool devolping

04 Nov 2012 00:42:03
Blackpool have narrowed down their search for a new manager down to 3 candidates. Owen Coyle, George Burley and Karl Robinson will be contacted over the up coming week. Robinson is the favourite but Oyston is reluctant to fork out the compensation for the young manager.

More like larry grayson for blackpool .lets hope its paul ince then the relegation battle will begin
