I understand Graham Coughlan would insist on having an elder statesman to help him run the team with Carl Fletcher.
It's also been mentioned that he'd only go back there if Paul Sturrock, his manager at Southend, was part of the package.
As a result a wee birdie maybe telling me things are currently in the process of being ironed out at Roots Hall. Paving the way for their return to Home Park.
Blues would insist on as much compensation as possible. Sturrock will cost Plymouth the most as his contact runs till the end of next season.

Rumours around Nottingham this morning that Steve McClaren will become the new manager of Blackburn Rovers next week as the Lancashire club hierarchy finally give in to fan pressure and sack Steve Keane. McClaren's guru Bill Beswick left Forest this week to open discussion with Venky's, Blackburn's owners. McClaren believes that his position at Forest is becoming untenable and sees the opportunity offered by Rovers to be too good to turn down. With fan protests expected this afternoon at Forest against chairman and club owner Nigel Doughty and the board, many believe that crisis club Forest can only resurrect their season if they part company with the former England manager now and the compensation package offered by Blackburn will enable them to do that.
