West Brom have stepped up their interest in Rotherham striker Will Hoskins. Celtic, Watford, Everton, Reading, Wolves, Ipswich and Forest are all pursuing the £600, 000 rated star.

Manchester City want to sell Micah Richards to Chelsea in a deal that will see them get Geremi on loan for the remainder of the season as well as £12 million + Shaun Wright-Phillips. Jose Mourinho is very keen to sign the young England defender and will make him first choice right-back if he is signed. Mourinho is also looking at defenders he can potentially take on loan.

I was at a gathering of 18 norwich city players on sunday and can say Earnshaw is very likely to leave in January for a 5mil + bid not for 3mil to Birmingham as someone said on here (we paid 3.75mil for him a year ago) so why when he has scored 16 goals would we sell him for less and he would NOT go to a championship club so dream on Brummie. Safri very likely to go and Ettu. Coming in to the club 2 un-named for north of the border and a goal machine from Southend Freddie Eastwood.
Harry Redknapp will consider offers for Lomana Lua Lua in January with Fulham thought to be interested although he will happily hang on to the DR Congo striker. Championship top scorer Robert Earnshaw will sign for £4.5 million and partner Nwankwo Kanu up front. Manuel Fernandes will return to Portugal, whilst there is a chance that Chelsea will recall Glen Johnson although Redknapp is looking to tie up a permanent deal. At the time, Redknapp is leading the race to sign Birmingham centre-back Matthew Uspon but will have to fend off strong competition from Tottenham.

Norwich are to join the race for Everton youngster James Vaughan who could be available on loan in January until the end of the season. Crystal Palace remain ken to snap up the striker but Norwich will step up interest with them poised to lose top scorer, Rob Earnshaw to Portsmouth in January.

Spurs news - Left back is a certainty, Left wing a necessity and a top central midfielder an opportunity.Centre back a requirement!Sounds like a whole team. Going Murphy, Gardener, Ifil, Y.P. Baines & Bale are both possibility but Wigan are happy to play the waiting game as they did with Chimbonda, therefore if a quick deal can be done then it will be Bale with Davenport/ Gardener going to the Saren'ts. Boa Morte is a possibility as fulham want Murphy but Boa is injured! Gamst wants to go to Spurs and as his impact has been less dramatic than Blackburn may try and sell him to enable Sparky to continue to rebuild bringing back Dunn, not the same position but a Blackburn hero none the less.Barnes from Derby looks interesting but does to Villa, Portsmouth, Everton etc in Spurs favour is the success of Huddlestone & Lennon in playing first team.
Downingn is never going to happen though Adam Johnson is the greater potential player and Southgate may move him out to keep Downing.

I have heard some news surrounding Arsenal. As has now become obvious, Nicklas Bendtner will stay on loan to Birmingham until the end of the season before returning to the Emirates next summer. Bendtner will not sign permanently at St Andrews - that I can guarentee. Fabrice Muamba and Sebastian Larsson will also complete a whole season at Birmingham, but only Muamba will join Bendtner in returning to Arsenal. Larsson will sign a three year contract at Birmingham, irrelevant of whether they gain promotion or not. Kerrea Gilbert is going to join Cardiff City permanently in January as he is getting first team football every week with the Bluebirds, and he recognises that Emmanuel Eboue, Lauren and Justin Hoyte are all ahead of him in the Arsenal pecking order. Jose Antonio Reyes will do all he can to complete a permanent move to Real Madrid, but it's not yet known if Arsenal will accept the offer to sign Julio Baptista permanently. Robinho won't be joining, as much as I'd love him to, and neither will Franck Ribery. Following the emergence of Theo Walcott as well as the cover of Freddie Ljungberg, Alexander Hleb, Tomas Rosicky and Robin van Persie, Arsenal don't need any more wide players and Arsene Wenger will refuse to spend silly money on a glamorous squad player. However, I do hear that we will be buying English over the next two transfer periods. In January, Wigan Athletic full back Leighton Baines will swap the JJB for the Emirates, with Manchester City defender Micah Richards and Watford winger Ashley Young joining next summer. Manuel Almunia and Mart Poom will leave, as well as Jens Lehmann, with Livorno keeper Marco Amelia joining the club to become the new number one. Watford's on loan keeper Ben Foster, property of Manchester United, will also join to compete with Amelia. Cameroonian midfielder Alex Song will be released.
Portsmouth will launch a 6 million pound move for Chelsea's Glen Johnson.

Roeder will also attempt to buy Klass-Jan Huntelaar, and offers for Peter Crouch and Alan Smith have already been made apparently. Expect a good few signings in January with only Luque leaving as Nwcastle know they have to strengthen!

Pressley will be going to charlton and there is a big possibility that Hearts goalkeeper may join him as Rafa wants Carson to return to Liverpool. Hearts will want anything from 2.5-4mill depending on if he hands in a transfer list request. Pardew wants to bring in a striker to help get bent back to his best so look out for Rossi moving on loan to get more games or a transfer for Freddy Eastwood.

Birmingham City Transfer Update
Departures
David Dunn and Julian Gray are the first two departures from St Andrews. Dunn is going back to Blackburn for £1.2m and Gray is heading to Wolves for £500, 000. Matt Upson is also being sold for £5m to Tottenham.
Arrivals
Callum Davenport will arrive on loan for the rest of the season with a view to buy for £3m. Paul Iffil is signing on a free transfer from Sheff Utd. Nathan Tyson will be signed for £1.7m from Notts Forest.

Former Hearts captain Steven Pressley has undergone a medical at Charlton Athletic, but I hear that he will opt for a move to Celtic instead. Pressley doesn't want to rush into anything, but sees Celtic as the ideal choice. Bobo Balde broke his leg at the weekend which has left Gordon Strachan short at the back, and Pressley has a wealth of experience in the SPL following his spell at Tynecastle. Charlton boss Alan Pardew wants Pressley to become his main centre back, which would then allow him to sell Souleymane Diawara who had a bust up with chairman Richard Murray last week.
Nufc news Crouch will not be coming to newcastle despite what everything has been said, and 15million for him is well over the mark. Bale is a big target for roeder and newcastle will be a club willing to pay the money for him to get a good left back. Baines is also in the picture as bridge is needed at chelsea now and wigan will accept a bid of around 7 million if the bale bid falls through. Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants to sign Jermain Defoe in the summer although Chelsea and Liverpool are also interested. Tottenham boss Martin Jol doesn't want to sell the striker until atleast the summer but has slapped a £22 million price tag on the 24 year old for any potential suitors although the sum he is sold for will be less than this.
