Anyone know about where Smithy is going on loan?(5)(4)He's not welcome at leeds, send him to the crisp munchers. MOTAny team that wears red, reminds him of his beloved United.He will go to Stockport County.Back to his beloved LEEDS united where he is from and the club that is closest to his heart. everyone one would be happy to have him back even the haters will grow to love him once again. MOTIf its Alna Smith - he's joined Brighton on loanHe has been heavily linked with Brighton and West Ham but no confirmation that he's gone to BHA unless the Ed knows different? {Ed001's Note - surprisingly seems set to happen, talks have been ongoing, not sure why Brighton would want him though, but Gus sees something in him.}

27 Oct 2011 18:56:25
john joe o toole (colchester fc) will make a 90,000 move to preston, leeds, reading, after intrest of many championship clubs..... !!!

AND i reckon that tevez will sign for corinthians for 15-18 million. {Ed002's Note - If he does then Manchester City would retain significant third party ownership.}(2)(10)

We don't want him lol

Further to previous postings, it appears that the Leicester job has attracted a huge amount of interest.

The amount of money available to spend has obviously attracted the chequebook managers, such as Billy Davies and Steve Maclaren and Roy Keane.

This do have proven records and look set to be favourites.

But Avram Grant, Peter Reid and Chris Coleman also have proven records in the Championship and Premiership and are known to have registered an interest(3)(8)Avram Grant? That will be you lot down then.Alan Curbishley has also shown an interest and he would be a muc better bet.All that money and they take on Peter Reid or Chris Coleman..? Who in the Championship wouldn't have a little chuckle about that. How the hell has Roy Keane a proven track record, hes made a balls of every club hes been at,needs to learn his trade in the lower divisions. Please let it be keane that would be so funny the big spenders turn out to be the clown club. "Were getting highly sort after Martin O'Neill" nope your looking at slightly less high prfile managers now, and to be honest you have probably dodged a bullet he would have spent another fortune to take you nowhere!

Martin O'Neill, Simon Grayson & Lee Clark have all ruled themselves out of the most rotating role in football at the King Power.

Leicester's desire above all else is a manager with championship experience, therfore in order of priority the wish list has got to break down as:

(1) Billy Davies
(2) Dave Jones
(3) Nigel Adkins

However a return for Nigel Pearson would not be a bad call. The likes of Rafa Benitez and Carlo Ancelotti will not come to Leicester and Mark Hughes has to date not delivered as a Manager.

However do not even take into consideration:

(1) Avram Grant
(2) Roy Keane
(3) Brian McDermott
(4) Paul Ince
(5) Sean O'Driscoll

This has to be the most important Managerial appointment for Leicester EVER !The official shortlist DOES includes Roy Keane, alongg with Steve Maclaren and Peter Reid.

Sean O'Driscoll is likely to go elsewhere but Billy Davies has to be considered a contender, even if he isn't on the shortlist yet.

Ince, McDermott and Jones are all options as well but it looks like Maclaren might just edge it.

Nevertheless, there is mileage in this(2)(18)Why in the hell would nigel adkins go to leicester when he is at a big club already great fan base, money when he needs it, great squad alreadyBilly Davis is an ex leicester player which could count but I cant see past Father Ted ( Martin O'Neill ). Loves the club, fans love him, has a proven track record.
The Thais are prepared to invest, they will demand success so that rules out nearlyall the mentioned possibilitiesIf The Wally with the Brolly gets the job I will not be supporting the team and that is after being a fan since 1963I would love to see O'neil back at Leicester but i doubt he will come, if maclaren gets the job il no longer be a leicester supporter!Hope mclaren gets the jobDavies is too much of a trouble maker

Dave Jones is a nealry man

Adkins would not come. The only reason they let pearson go is because the Thai owners wanted Sousa as manager so why would they want him nowTheres no way on earth adkins would be 3rd on our priority list. The facts speak for themself, the most efficient, succesful british manager in the past year bar Alex Ferguson. He won't leave Southampthon for us, Billy Davies seems more realistic.O'Neill has said no because there is nothing in it for him.
Being a villa fan, He'll murder your club if he did come to it! LOLUs leicester fans a like liverpool fans we live in the past the cups we won and how well we played. i would love MON back but its not going to happen. id like to see davies or jones. atkins wont leave southampton and it has nothing to do with size of club or fanbase thats just a crap excuse. i say why would he leave when he doing really well, if the results were different then thats would change the thinking. , lee clark would be as bad as sven neither have CHAMPIONSHIP knowledge. look at darren ferguson had came up with no experience got relegated and now has come back with a whole new look at things. i think knowledge is key in this leagueSince when have southampton ever been a big club?? Do behave yourself, even portsmouth have won more than you.The giant marshmallow man from ghost buster is favourite for the leic jobMate your pulling your plonker if you think n pearson will go back there ,come on why would he ,hull city will be pushing for promo this season ,

27 Oct 2011 15:55:59
Leicester: Steve Maclaren has emerged as the leading contender for the Leicester job. McDermott, Roy Keane and Peter Reid are also on the shortlist put together by the club's owners(11)(12)He will take you downGone back to fc twentieGod help you if you appoint the Wally! No No No, Leicester, Steve McClaren is definately your man.

27 Oct 2011 15:19:53
Neil Lennon to become new Leicester City manager.(11)(24)

27 Oct 2011 14:33:53
Lesicester will make a offical approach for Lee Clark, he does want to go there, just didnt want to say it to the camera.

Hudderfield will then approach John Coleman who is fed up off life at Accrington with no funds left.

A good source tell me this/(9)(14)I don’t know why Lee Clark would come in ahead of Chris Powell if they are after a league one manager. He has been less well supported financially, has had less time to build and is currently ahead in the table. Add to that he was assistant at Leicester not so long ago, I’d say he was a much more likely target.Chris powell ha htfc to win league 1 with clarkey at the helm 40 games unbeaten htfc to win 3-1 down at the valley in few weeks!

Deals in the championship january:
Forest to sign sharp 3.5m and townsend on loan from spurs.
Highflying saints will resign andy surman 1.5m as he isn't being played at the mo and theo robinson 800k or maybe the homesick charlie austen 3m, they'll also sign jos hoiveld permanently 1m and michael antonio as he is impressing at colchester.
Leeds will try and get a winger like danny rose on loan from Spurs and o'dea permanently.(5)(12)3.5m for Billy Sharp, haha.Would you like any more young players from Spurs?Sharp for 3.5?, He's worth alot more than that3.5m for sharp.... no way, donny turned down offers higher than that in the summer, and if he does leave donny itll be for a premiership clubRose will only get a premiership loanI dont think Rose would be welcomed back, after he was tapped up. In case you've forgotten, he was one of our academy players, but fortunately Uncle Ken sued and got us some money so we'll leave the moaning there. Hear Leeds have completed Pugh deal, and will pursue O'Dea and Keogh. The trio have been the best loanees I think we've had since leaving the Prem, and even then, remember Roque Junior? Source: The last talented loanees we had (Adam Clayton/Max Gradel), Leeds signed.
wallySharp is not worth more than 2 mil. Didnt cut it in the Prem with the Blades and his Championship Goal tally is average at best. Now hris Wood, on loan from Albion at Birmingham 9 goals in 9 starts and scoring in Europe, young, he is worth around 3.5 mil.

Billy Sharp is good, but he isn't 3.5m. If any team with aspiration of the premier league bought him, they would need to buy better strikers to score goals in the prem, as he wont!Worth a lot more than 3.5? Jesus Christ, Your obviously a Donny fan smoking something you shouldnt be!Forest told coterill when he took over that he would have no money for players unless he sold and forest would have to sell at least 5 players to raise 3.5 million

27 Oct 2011 12:40:58
alan smith about to join derby(10)(18)Sky Sports will be a bit short handed for co-commentators. Isnt he a bit old?Lufc can't even afford to pay part of wages so why/how would derby?

27 Oct 2011 12:35:30
Bristol City news
Dawson WBA
Wilson, Milwall
Riberio, Exeter
Woolford , Scunthorpe
Bolasie , Yeovil
Hunt, PNE
McGivern back to City
Spence Back to west ham(5)(17)What sell bolasie when he scores in reserves and never given chance in city first teamYou wont get Dawson from WBA as he aint available for loan, however,Thorne,Mattock,Fortune and Manton cold be possibilities. {Ed002's Note -You forgot maynard out. cos if city dont pull their fingers out he'll be off. to be fair should cash in on him and get some better defendersYou wont get Bradley Orr either

27 Oct 2011 12:14:24
Because both the teams that Bournemouth signed players from were lower league (ie below the conference)(2)(7)

27 Oct 2011 11:54:42
Ray Wilkins has checked in at the Northampton Hilton.
Have a feeling something may be about to happen!!
Last chance to get the dough on before the odds come tumbling.(1)(12)Northampton has a Hilton ?? Are you mistaking the clock tower

27 Oct 2011 06:16:30
Swindon Towns in form winger Matt Ritchie is to have a remarkable return to Portsmouth in Jan 12.

Sources close to Portsmouth have identified the Player as a welcome addition to their attack.

The bid is to be thought to be around 350k.(11)(15)If true (hope so), i think we'll have to spend half a million or more. Still be worth it. PUP.Hearing the same rumours. There is no way that Ritchie will be sold in Jan unless the bid is a lot more than 350k... Promotion is the aim this year, Matt loves it at town and is happy to stay.Money talks.

He is far too good for League 2.Not to mention, a pompey fan through and through. Hes always stated he would love a return to his home town club of portsmouth, and id love him back again. Plus hed be alot better for playing week in week out for a soon to be league 1 swindon....

27 Oct 2011 01:42:20
Colchester United keeper Ben Williams is eyeing up a move to the Championship after several clubs are interested in him. The U's stopper who's contract runs out at the end of the season has made his desire to play in the Championship publicly known.(4)(1)

27 Oct 2011 01:14:39
Manchester United are interested in Huddersfield hot shot Jordan Rhodes. They have sent former player Paul Scholes to watch Rhodes to make his own judgement on the 21 year old.(19)(21)Heard this elsewhere also, starting to think could be true now, would have to wait till august tho and would want 4-5 millionUtter crap ,not good enough for lower prem team ,never Mind top 4.Think he would do ok in championship .But the only way hudders would sell is if they did not get up this year ,Which I think they will .Scholes was watching Scunthorpe's Oliver Norwood who is on loan from Man U. Rhodes is good but not that goos and doesn't have the pace required for the PremiershipIt is on the daily mail websiteThe man only said that Scholes has been sent to watch, why would they not watch a young player that is on such a good run? Makes sense to me to have any promising youngster watched, in fact a team like ManU’re have probably got scouts out and about at championship, league one most weeks.

BTW how the hell is the kid worth 4-5 million after 73 appearances and 35 goals? He might well become the real deal but, not just yet. I hope Huddersfield turn down any offer they may get for a few seasons, let the lad mature before putting him under too much pressure in a big transfer.Oh it's on the Daily 'we love Princess Di' Mail website so it must be true

27 Oct 2011 00:44:37
Given that a new money laundering charge starring Mr Yeung has hit the Chinese press in the last 48 hours I would imagine we will be FORCED to sell players(10)(3)This is only a RUMOUR and hasnt been conformed.
I don't see why it would make us sell any more players. He's assets are already frozen, if anything it might push him out of the club sooner than any of us might have hoped!Thats what the site is mate, footbal rumours. I'm a very happy Blue nose at the moment and i've heard nothing about this either.

If we have to sell players in order to survive after we are just getting our season on track! I will not be happy, where is the rich billionaire we need?

27 Oct 2011 00:15:56
In response to:

"Ipswich town are in talks about pos deal to sell j carson to millwall in jan. Town are heading down same road that almost bank rupted them a few years ago. And now they must settle a debt of over half million, with there landlords suffolk county councill. Town dont want to part with carson. But he is one of very few players any other team would want. A fee 700.000k will be enough."

a) Carson has not featured hardly at all for Town this year, but PJ has confirmed he wants to get oungsters out on loan rather than selling.
b) PJ has admitted all players have a price, but Carson's would be over £700,000
c) Why would Carson want to join a team who are, at very best, on a par with Ipswich's stature.
d) The council debt is going through appeals and Town are looking into purchasing the freehold.
e) Marcus Evans has thrown more than enough money at the club to save itself from receivership and bankruptcy, in the grand scheme of things a £500k debt is not a great deal extra for him to have to pay.
f) The road that caused Ipswich to go not severe debt was not through unpaid rent, moreover it was the acquisition of ineffectual players on Premiership wages who could not be sold on for a profit and relegation.(4)(9)

26 Oct 2011 21:38:06
My mate works in sports marketing and deals with many agents .

I'm a Southend supporter so has given the low down on what he's heard bandied about.

Blues troubles will start even when promotion is secured.

The price of promotion hey.

Hall is interesting Ipswich, Bristol C and Saints.

Bilel is attracting Blackpool and Ce;ltic.

Ferdinand will be soon a subject of an offer from Posh.

Sturrock still linked with Plymouth and St Johnstone.

Yet to hear firmly about the Hibs Rumour.(5)(6)

26 Oct 2011 21:15:09
Hibernian will part company with Colin Calderwood on thursday.

Paul Sturrock is being sounded out for the post.(1)(8)Just bore off you colchester fan.Actually for your information I'm a Hibernian Supporter.Well its Thursday and Calderwood hasnt been sacked.

So false.I wouldn't rule out Sturrock for the Dundee United job if Houston is relieved of his duties.
Hibs may pull a fast one and sack Calderwood and go for McGhee - but will need to move fast.
I'm a Motherwell fan and I believe McGhee was our best Manager of recent times.

26 Oct 2011 20:53:34
Steve kean has two games to save his blackburn carer. If sacked rovers have lined up Nigel Adkins of Southampton to take over the reigns at ewood, with Mark Hughes going the other way back to Southampton as manager. Adkins will have a budget in january to spend were he will target Adam LaLanna and Nicky Maynard.(7)(21)No way will Adkins leave Saints for any club other than possibly Liverpool. Wouldlose all credibility in the football world if he did. Just won't happen. What would be the point of adkins leaving saints in a great financial position and treated like a legend already by the fans. Anyway this time next season blacburn be in the championship and saints be in the prem enough saidHappy to drive maynard to you if you want to buyAdkins won't leave cause he will get the saints to the premier league.Another deluded, envious fool who needs to get a life. All lies.Saints fans think they're so good, lets see where you are after the long cold winter. A good side at the moment, but too early to start getting boners about!

26 Oct 2011 20:13:53
good source tells me javi martinez will join man united in jan for 22m euros(11)(13)

26 Oct 2011 20:12:36
My friend is a sports jounalist and he tells me there is a possibility The FA will make an official approach to Spurs for Harry Redknapp BEFORE the end of the season.

He also says there is a very rare chance that Harry could actually be the new boss going into Euro 2012.

Apparently Capello has been offered around £7m a year to restructure soccer in Qatar.(10)(8)99.9% of us spurs fans accept that harry will probably be offered and accept the england job (with a fair % being happy to see harry go) but not until the end of the season, levy would not accept anything less, UNless harry is doing a poor job? Then I'm sure a deal could would and should be brokered, the idea and plan is to forward the club to champions league, with each closing game at the tail end of the season we are closing in on our objective, could you honestly see levy bowing to the begging bowl of the F.A & risking the clubs future and possible target focused new manager. If this does happen, I reckon Ancelloti would come to spursThe FA NEVER EVER do what the public want. I've said he should be England manager for years and I'd love him to be but, I just cant see it happening.

26 Oct 2011 19:07:40
nice to see the peter kay tribute act still banging
on about walkers crisps how funny is that man by the way Mark Hughes will be the new boss no one as yet has been talked to.(2)(4)

26 Oct 2011 18:10:07
Adam Johnson will leave Man City on loan initially in January to further his chances of making the England squad for 2012 championships. Liverpool is his prefered and most likely destination. Liverpool will also look to add more attacking players to further their chances of a top 4 finish.(10)(22)I hope so asa liverpool supporter, but wuld they let him go to a possible rival ?Are you counting Liverpool as Citehs "rival"? Typical delusional thinking.

26 Oct 2011 17:38:14
Number of top championship sides are after QPR right back Bradley Orr on loan until January and if he impresses Roberto Martinez will look to bring him in to Wigan for £1 million(5)(10)

26 Oct 2011 15:58:54
iheard brentford looking at darren purse trying to get jeffery shlupp on lone or matt tubbs(2)(19)Jeff schulpp plays For leicester first teamDarren Purse has just signed on loan for Yeovil til January. All bulit i think!Darren Purse has just signed for yeovil???

26 Oct 2011 13:27:05
Watford are to extend SD contract an extra year to stop any rumours that he will be sacked. He has the full backing of the board, and the extra year is to show he has their trust and support.(4)(17)

26 Oct 2011 12:44:09
A bid is on the cards from an unnamed Championship side for Southend whizkid Ryan Hall in january. Genuine talk.(7)(7)Not true, no bid has been recieved by the club. Its bristol city by all accountsSouthampton have been tracking but no bid yet

26 Oct 2011 12:37:31
andy keogh to join leeds(22)(9)Goodluck keogh wish you were back at bristol cityGood luck andy if it wasn`t for thick mick mcarthey you would be a far better player

26 Oct 2011 12:12:34
Gary Johnson to be sacked as Northampton town manager today.
He will be replaced by ray Wilkins.
Get your money on NOW.(8)(16)

26 Oct 2011 11:38:36
I understand Peterborough will make a sizeable bid for Kane Ferdinand as early as January. And the contract is thoughtvto be a wonderful one for the player.

They've been monotoring his performance since the start of the season and are vastly impressed with his rapid progression.(3)(7)He is not for sale, and Peterborugh cant afford him anyway, they are skint.Haha since when were peterborough skint? Just because we would rather sign youngsters with potential instead of recognised names does not come down to funding, but instead personal choice fromm DF.What I should have said was you dont have enough to buy Kane.

Southend valaution is high for a reason, he isnt going anywhere.

26 Oct 2011 11:23:25
if uwe roswler dont win sat home game against chesterfeild he will be sacked big roumers martin allen coming back or ray wilkings(1)(13)Martin Allen is frimly behind the Notts County project and will not be leaving the lane!

26 Oct 2011 10:32:46
Terry Brown of AFC Wimbledon was apparently at Leicester City last night instead of in the dug out at Torquay with the Dons !?(1)(18)Confirmed he wasn't in dugout, but he travelled down with wombles on the monday, strange ?According to BBC, Brown has taken time off to look after his family, as his wife is seriously ill.To quote John McEnroe - You cannot be serious

26 Oct 2011 09:12:13
Wallyson of Cruzeiro touted as the player to sort out QPR's goal scoring problems {Ed002's Note - Where would he get the work permit from?}(1)(10)

26 Oct 2011 09:04:12
Steve Keen will be sacked on Monday, he will be replaces by Mick McCarthy who has had enough of the Wolves fans after Saturdays abuse. Steve Keen will become a leading contender for the Portsmouth job.

well despite the absurdity of this..I think steve keene is a good coach and will come good(12)(18)McArthy will go to Celtic in Jan' 12

26 Oct 2011 01:25:15
Jordan Rhodes is set to join Brighton in January after the two clubs agreed a deal.(10)(14)Huddersfield would want at least 2mil+add-ons so he wont be joining Brighton as they dont have the funds to spend on one player(CMS broke the bank for them), in league 1 he would either stay or join charlton, in championship probably west ham, southampton, leicester city and prem swansea, norwich, wolves or west brom......Stop the silly rumours. Rhodes is going nowhere - he'll be in the championship with Huddersfield next year and is part of a long adventure at the club. No need to move on. Not a selling club any more.Ha rhodes not going anywhere especially not brighton, when town will bein championship next year anyway. people talking about him going to charlton are just talking you no what!! talking about man u watching him with interest! hmm charlton brighton or united!

26 Oct 2011 00:53:46
Liam Wainwright (16) + James Riley (16) linked with a host of top English teams. The two scousers currently at Morecambe have impressed many over the past few months.(2)(2)

25 Oct 2011 23:28:14
In January, West Ham United will complete the signing of Celta Vigo goalkeepr Yoel after an undislcosed bid was accepted this morning from the second division Spanish club.(4)(7)They have to complete the signing on Christmas Eve so that he can be
The First Yoel!

25 Oct 2011 23:26:52
Fulham are in talks with goalkeeper Mark Birighitti, a 20 year old currently plying his trade with Australian side Adelaide United.(6)(2)

25 Oct 2011 23:25:36
Sporting Lisbon are keen on making a bid for Andreas Bjelland from Danish side Nordsjaelland. The international defender is expected to cost around £2 million and is wanted by a number of Premier League clubs.(6)(5)

25 Oct 2011 23:23:35
Southend United are keen on bringing in midfielder Abdul Said from Swindon Town. The youngster, originally from Somalia could be subject of a undisclosed bid from Paul Sturrock.(0)(10)

25 Oct 2011 23:21:49
Peterborough United are interested in bringing two players to the club on pre contracts, on deals that will start in January. Owen Garvan has apparently agreed a loan deal in January that will allow him to stay at London Road until the end of the season. It is not yet sure if there will be a clause at the end of the deal that could see the former Republic of Ireland under 21 midfielder sign a permanent deal at United. Secondly, Darren Ferguson is interested in signing Glenn Whelan on loan from Stoke. It could be a little bit too ambitious for Ferguson but likes the idea of possibly having the Republic of Ireland international at London Road. If this deal does not work out, it is expected Ferguson will go for either Liam Lawrence from Portsmouth or Keith Fahey from Birmingham, who are again, all Irish.(1)(11)Also I hear Kane Ferdinand is on the Posh radar. This lad is rapidly progressing at Southend. The above post is nonsense. Peterborough will sign players from non-League and League 2, as they always have done.Pre-conracts are on the cards. My sources say watch Motherwell FC fo0r name/names

25 Oct 2011 21:22:10
tommy cassidy has left whitby town and neale cooper will be there next manager(2)(4)

25 Oct 2011 20:43:41
It is believed Ryan Hall and Kane Ferdinand are a target for a number of Championship Clubs.

Stong Rumour has it that Southend have already received a bid for Ferdinand.. With Peterborough favourites to be that team.

Interest in Bilel Mohsni is also hotting up.

Blues looking to sign Michael Timlin on a permanent basis to ease the burden of Ferdinand's impending departure.(3)(4)They will NOT be sold this season.

25 Oct 2011 20:00:42
New Pompey manager rumours
Valery Karpin of Spartak Moscow and Ole Gunnar Solskjr are being touted..(13)(7)

25 Oct 2011 19:52:57
Simon Kjaer to be re-called from roma by wolfsburg and sold to Sporting Lisbon for 8 mil(1)(7)If hes available for 8m then id imagine a few more clubs other than just sporting would be interested, id hope newcastle would be one of them.

25 Oct 2011 19:28:12
Richard Stearman - Liverpool - 3.8mil.(9)(29)What, 3.8mil brass washers!Yes wolves fans wud pay 3.8mil 2 tek im awayThis seems strange to me my team Ipswich reported put a 1m bid in the summer which was turned down not because of tbhe value but because Wolves wanted to keep him.The only one who wanted to keep him was thick mick who will be sacked by wolves very soon

25 Oct 2011 17:48:14
the man the owners will make a move for is Mark Hughes and to the person who says stick to crisps
so funny you must be a peter kay tribute act with such funny jokes next you will be saying Blackpool will win the league(3)(8)My Hunch is Mark Hughes is waiting on the Spurs Job once Harry Redknapp leaves for England. Why are you taking a swipe at Blackpool

25 Oct 2011 17:45:25

Ray Trew

25 Oct 2011 16:40:23
Tevez is joining spurs in january. Source : ossie ardiles.(20)(25)Haha he is way out of tottenhams league, that wouldent happen ever, when will their supporters accept that tottenham hotspur are just an average team that finish average of 7th place in the barclays premiership and they need alot of money injected to even get on par with arsenal and even more money to compete with even liverpool let alone the man city's, man utd's and the chelsea's just another club where the fans get over excited and get carried away with expectation! Are you being serious? Tottenham are one of the best run clubs in the league and have been competing with teams like Liverpool for a couple of years now, just look at the results of the past couple of seasons.
Arsenal are in quite a mess this season and are stuggling to pick results up home and away and the other three teams mentioned are currently in a class of their own in the premier league.
Now not for one minuite do I think Tevez will sign for Spurs but to say they are not competing with teams like Liverpool and Arsenal is just idiotic. If i am not mistaken, i have read on another site that a club cannot loan two players to the same team.Hopefully he will be left to rot in the A team at Man City, him and his agent are always angling for another payday, Tottenham and any other club that respects its fan base should avoid him like a barge pole.Am I missing something here. The guy hates England. He wants to go home. If Man United and Man City are not to his liking - no chance Spurs. There are five airports in london, maybe thats got something to do with this :P Oh and btw delusion liverpool fan, just wait and see whos in the top four at the end of the season. I can assure you it won't be arsenal or liverpool, as the mighty spurs make their return to the CHampions leagueThe Spurs salsa dancing club maybe!

Norwich looking at Jordan Rhodes of Huddersfield according to Ian Culverhouse (asst manager)(17)(4)Now that will REALLY pi off 1p5wich!This rumour may have legs, he certainly looks the type of player PL loves to go for, but I suspect he will cost 2.5-3M if he keeps banging in goals at the current rateThe Metro says that Man Utd have sent Paul Scholes to watch Rhodes.
I can't see him leaving for less than 5M.Not happening!! staying at town till end of year guaranteed! when town get promoted town will let him go but only for 4-5 mil. Also heard united interested! he deserves it bang in form one for the future at highest levelEveryone is looking at Rhodes because he's on such a good run, turning that into a bid will take longer me thinks.

Liam Ridgewell on his way back to Villa. Celluar back to Rangers as part of the Naysmith deal...(5)(18)I hope this is true, i'll drive him to sign the contract! Is Cellaur not out of contract in the summer? Think a pre-contract with the Champs if he is coming back is most likely. Also can't see Naisy going to Villa.

25 Oct 2011 13:09:34
Carlos Tevez is moving to Juventus in January on a six month loan deal , He will then return to Brazil/Argentina with Corinthians/Boca Juniors in the summer to finish his career. Another unhappy footballer who will leave the EPL in January is Adel Taarabt who will join Italian side Lazio.(14)(6)Finihs his career he's what like 28 isnt he! {Ed002's Note - Interestingly it was the desire of Tevez to retire at 28 after playing for Real Madrid and then joi the church.}

No wonder murray wants to leave c palace, good club doing very well. Who would want to live in a dive like south london. Scannell to either norwich or wigan in jan(8)(6)Didnt know he liked carrots and pies that much.He probably likes playing decent football as well, hence why he would leave that dump

Poyet has been on the crisp muncher radar since since the consortium took over. SGE was recomended for the post by Mandric, and
the new lot were just looking for an
excuse to get rid. With Gus going to the Walkers, the seagulls will bring in Dave Bassett as damage control for the remainder of the season.(8)(22)It is no longer called the walkers stadium2 wins in 7 and sven gets the sack. poyet 0 wins in 7 s why would we want him again? and dave bassett damage limitation ha ha he'll cause the most damage

Wigan Atheltic will offer Huddersfield Town a fee in the region of £3 million for in form striker Jordan Rhodes.

Wigan will be willing to let Connar Sammon go to Huddersfield as part of the deal(11)(7)What's the point of leaving Huddersfield who are championship bound for another team heading the same way??

25 Oct 2011 10:11:04
insider at Burnley say's that southampton have re-tabled the 5m Jay Rod bid (trusted)
i'm hoping that Jay again says no but southampton are going well and may favour a move(12)(4)Wonder if it's possible to get him or another striker in on loan until deal could be completed in January if the news that Barney could be out for another couple of months is correct, feel we could do with a bit more cover up front.Does anyone know where we stand on this?He is gonig to everton in janJay isn't leaving us. He was born and raised in Burnley and has lived there all his life he is going nowhere!Loan deal maybe poss,
and yes JAY maybe a BFC boy to man but BFC need investment and said yes to the previous 5m back in the last transfer window, according to my insider, Jay wanted to see what progress BFC under Eddie would make in the first half of the season. SFC have press BFC for a answer ASAP.
My thoughts are that SFC have offered top price for JAY 1.5m than any other club and BFC could get a player cash deal here aswell - sounds like a good deal

Norwich, Rangers and St Etienne are locked in a battle for Lokomotiv Moscow striker Dmitri Sychev.(11)(8)

25 Oct 2011 07:48:16
For Me Chiefs at Southend need to pull their finger out rather swiftly in offering new deals to all our important players. If not then we run the risk of them leaving for under-value prices or getting nothing at all for them.

Players out of contract at the end of this season are Barker, Grant and Mohsni.

Out of contract at the end of next season will be Ferdinand, Hall and Clohessy.

Super players indeed and too good to just let them wind their contracts down so we get absolutely nothing for them.

They will have their interested takers so To the Board please bear this in mind.

Being top of League 2 won't guarentee their futures with us as in years gone by Fry, Otto, Hunt, Poole etc left us for teams in more difficult moments than us as at the time we flirted with the prem so that didn't convince them to stick around.

And Steve Thompson departed while we were in the second tier for a side a division below.

an interesting but worrying 18 months I feel is coming up at The Hall.(0)(10)May I ask ( especially if fellow Southend fans are disagreeing ) is the problem with this post? It is logical and therefore not designed to put down the die-hard rose tinted followers. You can't expect the key players to hang around forever.Typical mentality of Blues die hards. To sweep things under the carpet pretending things will go away.Yes and they wonder why they lost Clarke and Gower on frees and were forced to sell Barnard to get a little something for him. Key players need to be offered new deals now.Its not worrying the club may have already offered new contracts to these players but not saying until its signed and sealed.

Paitence.Offering deals will prove the Clubs intentions but I don't think they sign them anyway. Hall and Ferdinand are too good in the long run and have signed extentions already so theyve done their loyalty bit. The same can be daid for a few others. What about a bid for Timlin

ANY BRISTOL CITY LOAN RUMOURS, {Ed025's Note - NO MATE! NO MATE!(0)(12)Derek McInnes is still regarded highly by former club WBA,could go back for loan signings,mf ,sam manton. st,marc antoine Fortune, def ,Joe Mattock, just a thought. As a long term WBA supporter, I suspect thos rumour would have some legs. Derek McInnes is indeed well thought of at the Albion by both management and supporters.

I suspect we would be quite pleased to help out Derek in what I suspect might be a torrid next few months at Bristol City. Sam Mantom and Joe Mattock would be good 'picks' and if he would go Marc Antoine Fortune is a decent striker.

I still think that at some point in the future Derek (who has done a sterling job at St Johnstone) will be looked at seriously as a potential WBA Manager...

Cook was given permission to speak to St Johnstone and had talks with their chairman Geoff Thomas yesterday.

Compensation had been agreed between the clubs but the move has broken down.

Leicester to make move for former fox Simon Grayson.(12)(42)Loves Leeds too much and wants to do well for themDoubt it very much think the owners want to go up not down! And just where are Leeds compared to Leicester?Would love him back but leeds thru and thruLolls, wondering when this would pop up. its really quietened down on ere, no leicester kids anymore saying you got a world class managerDont wany yorkie person we want to go up not downWhat a load of rubbish!! With all due respect to Grayson but he is no where near a big enough name for the Thai owners. They need a big name for the marketing side in Thailand. This job will go to either o'neil, Benitez or hughes

24 Oct 2011 20:33:38
Bristol City manager Mcinnes has been talking to Coyle about former Bolton Left Back Jlloyd Samuel. Samuel is a free agent and reportedly still training with Bolton. Coyle says he could do a job for City untill the end of the season. (Cant be worse than our current 'defenders'!)(16)(7)

Sven Goran Eriksson sacked as manager by Leicester City with the club 2 points outside the play-off places. Very harsh if true as it's still mid October!(27)(8)V harsh just hope o neil is the replacementIs the saying never go back it won't work o'neil had a good bunch of players when he was here last you can't say that about the current squadCant stand Leicester, But the squad there at the moment is good enough to walk this league. The squad he had back then, Heskey, Savage, Izzet, etc we're all average prem player tha O'Neil got the best out of. As of now, I'm not worried about Leicester, If Oneill takes charge i will be.Yeah Sven wasted a shed load of cash now your going to get another manager on ever inflated wages who will do exactly the same, do the owners want to go bust??

24 Oct 2011 17:02:04
Preston North End manager Phil Brown is urgently looking for a front man now their first choice strikers are out injured for the next three weeks. It was thought Billy Paynter was his top target although this has fallen through as Hemmings is not willing to pay 30% of his wages for three months. An offer will be made to loan the young Conor McAleny from Everton.(9)(7)Nothing to do with money,Paynter just simply refused to go to a club in league one, problem with this is Leeds are reluctant to allow him on loan to a fellow championship club, bit of a stalemate unless one side backs down.

Mr Roller CoasterWell he will sit in the ressie for rest of the season

rayn dickerson on loan to brentford on loan dave kitson(1)(11)What? Is this one of those 'make ur own sentence up out of these words' puzzles?

24 Oct 2011 15:08:19
Paul Sturrock is a manager that would command 100% support from his Board at this level of the game.

I believe it is accurate to say he would want assurances from his superiers at Roots Hall.

The main thing being that he can keep all of his important players beyond January and in the immediate term to be able to bring in a loan GK as first choice Glenn Morris has been ruled out for four weeks.(5)(9)

24 Oct 2011 13:51:48
Wigan to bid for Samaras of Celtic for £2 Million good reliable source(12)(16)Jeebus! they would bite your hand off mate!! Samaras is a Rangers LEGEND...We'd probably take 2 never mind 2m. He can be such a good player maybe 1 or 2 games a season. The rest of the time he's a lazy fud.

24 Oct 2011 13:47:35
Villa in for Rangers Naysmith in January. £5mill and Celluar. Source Mark Guidi, Scottish football writer(12)(10)If carroll does not improve by january he will be loaned out to anyone and dalglish will sign leandro damiao for 20m and will sign either wilfried zaha, (5m) marco bueno (free) or zakaria bakkali (4m) to bulk up their strikeforceDoubt that leandro will be going to spurs, they have a working relationship or an affiliation with internacional, they do their business together during the jan window ie sandro, think the deal for leandro is all but done reallyI think he's worth a lot more than that to Rangers

24 Oct 2011 13:20:48
Ferguson restructure - as United midfield is horrible its time for some new faces -
Ttargets are:
1. MODRIC - best option, great EPL midfielder...would fit is a problem but if they want a top class MF they need to drop some serious cash! - 40 mill would do for Modric....
2. SNEIJDER - similar story as Modric...probably better offencively but older than modric, and modric is more of a Xavi and Sneijder more of an Kaka profile...and united need a xavi...
3. HAZARD - a good option but more of a winger - similar to young, rooney...not a player united truly need....
4. BARKLEY - everton youngster...bold and not bad by any not the gratest talent but a good prospect, lacks pure class but is talented...
5. WILSHERE - injured...but a great english talent, costs a ton of money, will not be released by Arsenal, maybe in couple of years...
6. KOVACIC - Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia) youngster (new fabregas), only 17 years of age and has CL experience...a monumental talent... better talent than Modric, a new Zidane, has been compared to Messi although he is a mix of Iniesta, kaka, zidane and fabregas....unbeleivable vision, speed and shot, perfect accuracy, just a great great player...Can be bought for 10-15 mill, but in a couple of years 25 mill....(9)(29)Lets dissect YOUR wish list,
Modric, no chance, chelsea were turned away at 40 mill try another 15 on top of that & you still won't get him!
Sneijder, the only one you could get!
Hazard, either chelsea or he will end up in spain
Barkley, not yet (& thats aimed at anyone who is interested in buying him)
Wilshire, dream on, not a hope in hell
Kovacic, nope to this one as well, both spurs and arsenal interested in his services but the boy favours spurs due to modric, corluka, kranjcar and another croatian lad if his own age, his name escapes me but apparently they are close friendsDream on manc. Here come all the prawn sandwich brigade, if it dont work throw money at it.Do u know anything about the game that is the worst thing I ever seen on hear not a man u fan but grow up throw money at it no team in the world has brought as many player in to game as man u look at prem sides full of players that did not cut it at man u and so on and so on like I say befor u slag them off look at how many pro footballers they have made and look at how many they have playing for them now ! And this idea u have of them throwing money at problems grow up look at gunners , city , chelski ! How many players have man u signed recently , I really mean it look at how many players started at man u will really be shocked , even players u think are lagends for the side they play for started at man u like I say not a man u fan but greatful to them for players we have had off them in pastMan United will be fine, expect a huge reaction over the next couple of week. Yes a midfielder would be good, Modric preferrably. However the team is in good shape. Jonny Evans will be a Sunderland Player this time next year however, he is the only player that lets United down consistently.

Ins: Modric $40mil

Outs: Jonny Evans Free to Sunderland for all i care, needs to goMan United will be fine...but they'll be the second club in Manchester. Just a matter of time. That defeat is the first in a long line. I'm not a City fan but they'll be the top Manchester team shortly. Man United's arrogance and expectancy will be their downfall. A classless club with clueless fans. Good riddance. You get modders for 40 million no chance. For the first comment - the young croation lads name is Tamoslav Gomelt. Scored a hattrick on his debut in the nextgen against interYeah you know better than Fergie don't youModric and hazard is the best player , we like to see for manutd by jan transfer windowYou lose one match and the next thing is to dismantle the squad and spend a kings ransom on new players ,how typically arrogant of a manutd prawn muncher.Typical of scumbag supporter's.Their arrogance is beyond belief. When your cum -uppence come's there won't be an national day of mourning.More like a national day of celebration at the demise of a club who stand for everything that went wrong in English football over the last twenty year's. Your the reason England don't do well in world football. It was and still is a case of we come first and sod you England. You lot remind me of Gaddfi and his mob.Think you can do what you like. Well look what happened to them? So when your scumbag's decline, and they will, watch the rat's deserting a sinking ship. Just like Gaddafi's lot.

24 Oct 2011 12:57:19
Ipswich town are in talks about pos deal to sell j carson to millwall in jan. Town are heading down same road that almost bank rupted them a few years ago. And now they must settle a debt of over half million, with there landlords suffolk county councill. Town dont want to part with carson. But he is one of very few players any other team would want. A fee 700.000k will be enough.(3)(10)Take care, budgie on wind upYou would need a min of 55 million for modric and even then I cant see it.What a load of sht, sorry Carson is rated by fans as better then Wickam who went for 8-10 MillionWrong thread on Modric there mate lol.

Evans made 100m profit last trading year!
Despite us losing 5m a year out of the club you seem to forget that we got 8m for Wickham. Please fly away now little budgie

Newcastle United are keen on bringing goalkeeper Jay Nolly from Candian side Vancouver Whitecaps.(1)(9)

24 Oct 2011 11:09:42
Arsenal are set to make Andrei Arshavin and Sebastian Squillaci available for transfer. Russian midfielder Arshavin is currently being courted by Terek Grozny, who could take the midfielder on loan until the summer, with the possibility of meeting the asking price of around £8 million. Squillaci, who was only signed by Arsenal a year ago, is already in talks with Belgian champions Racing Genk. Genk are keen to take the French defender for around £2.5 million and Arsene Wenger has accepted the deal, which also includes an extra £1 million based on Champions League appearances.(17)(5)Great deals, especially actually getting a transfer fee for the woeful Squilacci.

24 Oct 2011 10:59:01
Stuttgart and Russia striker Pavel Pogrebnyak could hold talks with Everton after the German side accepted a loan deal for the forward. Pogrebnyak has fallen out with Stuttgart after a disagreement in contract talks and David Moyes has alerted the player's agent that he would like to take him on loan in January until the end of the season.(8)(5)

24 Oct 2011 08:51:23
I have heard that Newcastle United have agreed a deal to sign Modibo Maiga for £8m in the January transfer window. Javi Martinez (who can play centre defence or centre midfield) will sign for £4m. Also heard rumour that we'll be back in for Neil Taylor, whether that is in January or the summer transfer window I am not sure. Leaving in January will be Nile Ranger, James Perch, Alan Smith and maybe Danny Guthrie. If Guthrie leaves we will replace him with Lewis McGugan for £5m. {Ed002's Note -(6)(19)I don't know what Javi Martinez you are talking about but it won't be Bilbao's for 4 million. Even if they were to think of selling him which currently they aren't he would cost nearer 24 mill than 4 millJavi Martinez is one off the hottest midfields in spain at the moment. Will onl going to a massive club for the likes off 25-40 millionYou might be thinking of javi Marquez from espanyol

24 Oct 2011 08:46:14
Wolves MUST cash-in on Doyle. Yes he holds up ball, works hard but lacks goal threat. Fletcher on the other hand is about goals and has a proper impact on games, with him over the past two games I suspect our points return would have been more.

With the 8mill from doyle's departure to Villa plus any additional kitty from Morgan Wolves must sign a new centre back and a pacey forward. Dann and Mackail-Smith would have been perfect signings.

With our current crop the starting XL should be:

Hennessey GK
Doherty RB
Johnson CB
Craddock CB
Ward LB
Hammill RW
Guediora AM
Foley DM
Ohara AM
Hunt LW
Fletcher CF

The bench then made up of the versatile Elokobi, Milijas, Ebanks-Blake, Jarvis, De Vries/McLeary(2)(14)Johnson is garbage, his defendin is nhing short of comical a times, the new Bramble?Totally disagree Johnson is a quality centre halfWhat matches have you bin watching he's rubbish cash in on him in January there's only one jody craddock twice the player Johnson isI think give Sam Vokes a chance up top, he came on and completely changed the game for wolves on saturday besically scoring the 1st by puttng it on a plate for doyle forcing the goaly to parry it a couple of yards out straight at doyles feet for him to put away and making a very good run for the second to pull the defender away in order to make the space for O'HARA to stick it away, Give him a chance.......................Mid championship side there.I feel craddock is now just 2 old and probably in his last year with wolves. foley is a rb not a dm so need to look in the transfer market there. another good cb is required or maybe give zubar a chance in that postionNever to old n zubar to attacking for ch

Newcastle to finish in top 8 this
season a fact.

Ed who do you think is the man
to replace andy carrol up front
for the toon ed because there
have been rumours
circulating that newcastle are
interested in fernando Llorente.
so ed who do you think should
be the man to replace carrol
i personaly think it should be
fernando Llorente but what do
you think. :] {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of confirmed interest in Llorente but there has been a glance in the direction of both Seydou Doumbia and Luuk De Jong. I wonder if interest in Salomon Kalou might appear at some point?}(4)(9)Top 8 fact?

I'm a Birmignham fan so have no keen interest against newcastle who are actually my 'second team' if you like as my grandparets are both Geordies. This is very presumptuous for this stage of the season.

Start talking about this if you are where you are after a long wet, cold winter. This is far too soon to be predicting a top 8 finish, although i really hope you do!How is this a fact as most of the season has not been playe dout yet? can you use your crustal ball and give me the lottery numbers thenAnother deluded divvyI cant see llorente going newcastle, why would he go from a mid table spanish side to a mid table english side, when better clubs are interested

23 Oct 2011 23:44:40
Colchester boss John Ward has ruled out a move for Crawley striker Matt Tubbs claiming he is "too expensive".(8)(7)I have heard a fee of 350k for Tubbs has formally been agreed for January,Weston Homes Community Stadium will be his new home ground.I met John Ward and asked him about Matt Tubbs and he told me he is too expensive.I have heard JW is interested in Aldershot striker Danny Hylton.

23 Oct 2011 23:23:08
Paul Sturrock will consider his own position at Roots Hall should at least 2 of his most important depart just after Xmas?

A wee birdie told me this is first class information.(6)(7)Wee birdie only exists on shrimperzone not here.

So this is fake. {Ed003's Note - It is a fake rumour no doubt}Actually I'm a football fan that has no allegiance to any Club. But I'am based between Southend and Colchester.

23 Oct 2011 23:15:29
Manager Paul Sturrock wants assurances from his Board in the coming weeks that none of his key players will be sold in January.

The suspicion is if he doesn't receive the answers he wants he'll seriously consider jobs at St Johnstone and Plymouth Argyle.

With Plymouth the prefered choice providing their takeover is sealed.(8)(2)

23 Oct 2011 21:26:05
Im hearing rumours a Leeds and Wigan are looking at Matt Tubbs. A feek is rumoured to be about 750k.

MK dons will lose Karl Robinson to Bolton when Coyle is sacked next week, MK Dons will go for Steve Evans.

Crawley would then look at Steve Tilson, ex Lincoln or Paul Simpson ex Rochdale and Shrewsbury.(8)(9)Leeds wont sign tubbs, as much as he is a good player, we have 5/6 strikers so we wont sign any more. And Evans won't go to MK DonsPlease how many times has this rumour been banged around?...leeds have 4 fit quality strikers, no disrespect to tubbs but he wouldnt get a game at leeds

23 Oct 2011 20:22:30
Die-hard fans at Southend need to realise they are a small selling club. always have been.Prove me otherwise? I understand your frustrations as the vultures are about to circle from above but Our Budget here at Crawley is a little better than yours at Roots Hall.(7)(5)Yes your budget is bigger but lets see who is laughing come the end of the season

Tubbs will be sold sooner rather then later

Southend have something you tinpot club dont have.

Passion and a good honest manager. You cant say your proud of Evans can you.

Glenn Murray handing in transfer request tommorrow. rumored to hate croydon area(8)(15)

23 Oct 2011 18:05:46
Cannot really see Hall arriving here as he is playing at the moment two divisions below himself. By the time next summer comes along , as you say, there will be clubs in the second tier who'll take him on. Surprised those at the Hall haven't offered this player another deal as come May he'll only have a year left I believe to run on his existing terms. meaning from that point onwards his value will drop. Perhaps the Hierachy there are resigned to his departure and the most they would get for him would be in january. Interesting to learn if they'll cash in then on him or whether the promotion tilt comes first. A real connundrum.

As for Grant I'd like him here and feel we stand a better chance of getting him compared to Hall. also I think The chances of grant playing in the 2nd tier are passing him by now and again those in Essex have a connundrum - Will they flog him in January because he is out of contract at the end of the season meaning he'll go for nothing.

Grant is the sort of midfield warrior we need and I imagine a real Steve Evans type player. and if he did eventually come here I would be delighted.(2)(4)

Crawley Town Supporter calling:

Commenting on the Southend fan's piece about our possible interest in two of their players.

First of all I'm only passing on what I've heard in HEAR SAY. So NOTHING official.
APPARENTLY we were interested in Grant in the summer just gone. Whether the interest in him on our part is still active I've NOT heard anymore.

Funny you mention Hall. Heard his name bandied about here several times and RUMOUR has it the player we have who was once with you Josh Simpson has been trying to sell our Club to him.

We may pay good money at this level of the game but from What I hear Hall is Championship material.. Read that Ipswich have been sniffing round him for a while so if he is to leave southend , IF, it will be an almighty challenge for us to secure his services. Surely his aim would be that championship level.

Therefore moving from you to us might be a sideways move the way we're both going at the moment.

My HONEST opinion.(4)(3)Thanks for good thought out post mate.

Im another Southend fan and havent heard any of these rumours.

Hall is a excellent winger, most assits last season in league two. So doubt he would move to another League two team but he owes the club at least 2 seasons after Southend stuck with him when he had a trial case.As I said I don't expect Hall to come to us. I also mentione he is of a higher standard than League 2. and agreed he is an excellent player. However I'm sorry but his name had been mentioned our way recently but the interest in Grant seemed more likely. I suspect Southend die-hards can't stand the thought of the vultures circirling from above AGAIN. Remember you are a small selling Club. Prove me otherwise?Small selling?

League 1 title, league 2 playoff winners.

2 JPT finals, BEATING Manchester united and drawing away at Chelsea.

That history cant be brought but has to be earnt like Southend a proper club.

Not a tinpot team like Crawley. You sum up Crawley I thought you was decent but you come out with that rubbish comment? Tinpot indeedIt is those freakish good results and year's worth of good form that cost you your assets. Collymore, Gower, Clarke, Eastwood ,Thompson, Fry, Simpson etc.
Even Webb walked out 3 times and he's held in high esteem. traitor perhaps. As for Evans treating people unwisely Players like Crown and Nicolau were offered deals by Blues only for them to be stitched up. look at how your fellow fans were treated by the owners during the financial crisis and now they claim to be the saviours. Hall, Mohsni, Ferdy, Grant have signed extentions but its unlikely they'll sign on again as they are too good for Southend in the long run. They'll go the same way as the people I've mentioned above.Yes and thats the lower leagues for you.

The players would be stupid to leave now, in the long run who knows they could stay or all could go.

Financialy its different, Martin isnt charge off the team bussiness anymore thats for Brady.
Same for Crawley, Tubbs and Barnett are far to good for league 2 aswell. Just one of those things you have to deal with.

Thing is Southend are a club with history and that can keep players at the club. Once Creepy lose their funding you become a club with no history and not very attractive to stay.

23 Oct 2011 15:53:20
Andy Wright to join Coventry on loan from Bolton for 6 months. Quick striker, could be useful for you.(3)(5)We need all the help we can get up front. Never heard of him, but already prefer him as an option to Roy O'Donovan and Freddie Eastwood.

23 Oct 2011 15:50:37
Burnley are set to bid for Alex Smithies. If both Huddersfield and Burnley can agree a deal, the young shot stopper will sign for Burnley in January.(9)(11)Sorry pal, but again ya wrong. u wont b signing any hudds town players. Anyway u cant afford him & he destined for the prem. AGThe rumour is true i saw it on an official Huddersfield pageShow me the link to the official site then, you could'nt afford his right armWhy would Smithies sign for a Championship team when he'll be there with Huddersfield next season?

HAPPY DAYS; from a LEEDS fan
Scum 1 Manchester City 6 hohoho
this is what life should be like, well done City from a Grateful Leeds fan Gj(33)(7)Not just from Leeds fans but from football fans the world over !!!! (P.S. Leeds fan here as well!!)Least were in the premiership mate, and not A sinking ship! haLeeds isnt a sinking ship. When do sinking ships go up. Maybe check our progress before posting things. Leeds will be back in the premiership in the next two years. Youth system can provide premier league players at our budget. Eg. Howson, White, Turner and of course Tom Lees ( Outstanding player for his age )Ha dont be so naive! any good players leeds produce will be taken off them by better teams who are actually in the premiership. and even if leeds do go up, they would probably be straight back down in the first year. as for a sinking ship, you was in champions league semi final a few years ago, now your playing teams such as doncaster, brighton and barnsley. at least we'll bounce back and win the league this year or next!Previous post from the glory hunting southerner make me laugh, will you change your team to Man City when they start winning everything - by the way if you type Manchester into Google maps it will show you where Manchester is, as I suspect you have never been.Is this the leeds united that got stuffed 3-0 playing their 1st team against uniteds 3rd team??Dnt be rediculous mate!! any can have a bad day.. it never means its all bad days.. united will bounce back supremely. and its only 3 points not life...league can be win and lost after 38 matches not now...Id rather be a leeds fan than a city fan, and thats saying something!!

23 Oct 2011 14:25:08
I reported some weeks ago that Sturrock, Coughlan, Corr and Barker were the quartet mentioned to go to Plymouth when their takeover is complete. They are seen as central to their rebuilding plans as they start afresh with improved finances. A new budget which will be greater than that of Southend's.(1)(8)Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

There not going anywhere

23 Oct 2011 13:08:10
At next weeks home game, there is a protest to remove Sean Dyche as Watford manager. should never have been appointed in the first place. Tactically poor and terrible transfer dealing(10)(6)

23 Oct 2011 13:07:56
Steve Keen will be sacked on Monday, he will be replaces by Mick McCarthy who has had enough of the Wolves fans after Saturdays abuse. Steve Keen will become a leading contender for the Portsmouth job.(22)(20)Why the hell would we want Keen? The man can't even butter tosat correctly! PUP. Solskjaer's on his way to the south coast anyway. In repsonse to all the aobe ... rubbish on all counts

23 Oct 2011 12:13:33
Charlie Sherringham was playing non-league, some three divisions below Bmth in the Blue Square Bet South league at Dartford FC. As such he could be signed on a permamnent deal. I think the restriction on signings is only as far down as to the Conference teams.(9)(2)

23 Oct 2011 11:34:47
Im hearing very strong rumours from my sources at Southend.

Corr wants to go to Plymouth and wants to go when he is fit.

Ferdinand also wants to go, he has been offerend a stunning contracy by Peterborugh.

Crawley have made a bid for Hall and Grant.

Worrying times indeed.(6)(10)May I ask who your sources are?

23 Oct 2011 11:58:35
LAWRIE SANCHEZ OUT!!!!!!!!(3)(14)

23 Oct 2011 11:48:44
Manchester United to submit a £15 million bid for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley. Sir Alex Ferguson likes the way he shouts at the more experienced players, has an eye for goal and is probably the best youndgster in England who hasn't been snapped up yet. SAF to get a better look at Barkley when Everton play United next weekend.

Blackpool need a goalscorer. There answer to that question will be the combination of Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes and Newcastle frontman Nile Ranger

Newcastle will offer £15 million to Athletic Bilbao for Spanish frontman Fernando Llorente. He will also offer £15 million for Weder Bremen star Marko Marin.

Stoke will offer £3 million plus Ricardo Fuller for Crystal Palace striker Wilfred Zaha.

Manchester United will complete the £6 million signing of Brighton defender Lewis Dunk in January(11)(12)15m for a player who as yet done nothing of note? hmmm worlds gone mad but already know this with stupid price deals of henderson, downing, young, and carroll nither of the fore mentioned players are worth half there transfer fee's nither wud barkley {Ed025's Note - your wrong about barkley mate...he will be world class, but utd will have to pay more than 15m...but i agree about carroll and henderson..What was stupid about the young deal? he has more than shown he is worth what they payed, less than the other 3 wasn't it?Sir Alex likes him because he shouts a the more experianced players? Lol, year right!

You mean YOU watched the telly and YOU saw him shouting at the more senior players so YOU thought you'd put it on here and see wht response you get? RUMBLED!Newcastle have no hope of signing either of them at that price even if they would be interested in moving to a run of the mill team

23 Oct 2011 07:22:05
Dean Gerken is not available on a free! He signed a new contract in the summer!(3)(7)

23 Oct 2011 02:04:41
Doing the rounds amongst fans in the bar is that Brady is trying to wrestle overall control of Southend United FC from Martin.( imho if he succeeds Sturrock will stay. If Martin stays in command Sturrock will be likely to leave in the summer)(1)(5)

23 Oct 2011 01:50:52
Answer to question, clubs are allowed to sign players on a free transfer outside the transfer window, they are also allowed to loan players on an agreement to buy the player in the next transfer window this is with legal documentation etc.(6)(4)Up until a free / loan deadline.There is never a free deadline a free agent can sign any day off the year. but you can only change your squad listing twice a year tho. {Ed001's Note - not true, there are two free transfer deadlines in a season, and you can add to your squad listing with a signing any time, so long as you have the space in your squad to do so.}

23 Oct 2011 01:10:58
For Heavens sake what is this picking on Southend Utd all about?

I'm a Blues season card Holder and have been for many years and Would like to put people straight as is possible on a few things regarding pure rumour talk.

Yes us fans do hear things from time to time and I'm no different and this is what I've heard and not heard.

Sturrock to St Johnstone - Not Heard.
Sturrock to Plymouth - Have heard
Barker Rumoured to be unhappy - have heard ( Wants clarity that the manager is staying)
Bilel to quit next summer - Have Heard
Hall to Quit next summer - Have Heard
Kane attracting Peterborough - Have heard.

In addition It is doubtful The Club will be bringing in French Striker Yannick Boli after all.

And several players have been lined up apparently to replace those who have been linked to leaving.

In my heart of hearts players like Hall, Bilel, Kane and Grant are capable of playing at Championship level.with this in mind it is to be expected they'll move on soon. Hopefully after we've clinched promotion.

No I'm not a traitor nor a Judas but just being a realist.(3)(4)DOnt refer to yourself as a 'Blues' seasn card holder. We all know the only Blues worth talking about is Birmingham City!

23 Oct 2011 00:46:56
Talking of Southend I'm hearing their was more than meets the eye regarding Barker not playing yesterday.

Official line was he was ill but their is talk his agent is talking to another club with a view to the player quitting Roots Hall in January.(2)(4)I think most of the talk on here about Southend is farcical. The only thing I've stumbled across is that Barker would only leave to follow Sturrock to Plymouth Argyle. Cannot see this happening even when Argyle are taken over.

23 Oct 2011 00:39:31
Peterborough Utd news.

After monitoring him since the start of the season Posh will bid for Kane Ferdinand in january.

The club know it will take an audacious effort to prize him away then and if they fail they will move for him again next summer.(2)(3)

23 Oct 2011 00:37:06
My sources at Ipswich Town inform me that the Club will move for Southend's Ryan Hall in January.

Paul Jewell has been tracking the player since the back end of last season and after proving himself this campaign sees the attacking midfielder as the extra bit of firepower ne needs to guide Town into the Premiership.(5)(4)

23 Oct 2011 00:10:52
West Ham want to sign Manuel Almunia on a permanent basis.(10)(4)I thought they had Green to make all the mistakes.I pray this is true. he is a shocking keeper.

22 Oct 2011 23:50:14
Adam Federici to Fulham at Seasons end to replace Schwarzer who will finish up his career in the Bundesliga.

Why do we need another keeper however when wolves go down we'll take O'hara and Johnson off them.(3)(5)You can have johnson in January every wolves fan will drive him there n wishful thinking if you think were goin down not a chance so jog onOh yes you are,and is n,t this the same Johnson who was the best thing since fresh air, when you signed him? short memory syndrome or just fickle?AS a birmingham fan, i knew Johnson would be crap, only had a good game when Dann and Carr were either side of him. Average Campionship Centre half at best, although in the right partnershp he is good because he is gormless and he will do what the sensibleones wont, he will stick his head anywhere. I thought it was going up McCarthys head at the press conference when he signed for ya!They have an awesome keeper in waiting stockdale at loan at Ipswich who is already in the england squad so this rumour seems unliekly unless he will be back upNaa we won't we already put you away 2-0 so id think what you say 1stn wolves fans didnt want him we wanted dann but thick Mick again don't listen to us

22 Oct 2011 22:59:25

22 Oct 2011 18:50:47
West Brom boss Roy Hodgson, is keen on adding Uruguayan defender Damian Macaluso to his ranks in January from Argentinian second division side Gimnasia LP. The 31 year old has been training with the Premier League side over the last two weeks and the former Liverpool manager seems to be impressed. His contract in Argentina runs out at the end of December.(6)(8)

22 Oct 2011 18:38:55
Im hearing rumors that Chesterf'ld will sign Miquel , the young CB from Arsenal on a 3 mounth loan deal(7)(3)

22 Oct 2011 11:57:59
Doughty is locked in talks with potential new owners and it is thought that a sale will go through before Christmas. The owners plan to rebuild the main stand with a much improved 3-tier stand. Also within the stand will be bar with restaurants and gym.

I know this because the gym I go to frequently have been invited to tender to run the gym within the stand.
