Dramatic stuff! Tomorrow night at Roots Hall will see a Southend United player score a deliberate own goal from the kick off in protest at the players not having been paid for January and February, as yet.

This protest has been dreamt up by the players, and has the full support of the management. The metaphore is that the Chairman is scoring an own goal by not paying the players, so they in turn will score an own goal.

The players have put this in secret to a Charlton player, and the hope is that this deliberate own goal will be immediately reciprocated. However, this will need to be approved by other Charlton players and management.

Watch and listen with interest tomorrow.

Nottingham Forest Loan Deal Nearly Tied Up

The reason Forest hae been so slow to make any announcements this window is due to the warchest still burning a hole in King Bill's back pocket.

After much negotiation, three deals look like being tied up before the weekend's showdown with Leicester.

All deals are loans with hefty upfront fees, in advance of a nonimal deal, all in the paperwork, at the end of the season.

£1.5mill – Spurr, Sheff Weds
£2.0mill – Ambrose, Crystal Palace
£1.5mill – Adam, Blackpool

All three want the chance of playing in the Prem next seaon, a chance none of them are going to get otherwise, even with QPR lol.

25 Feb 2010 15:03:30
Re – QPR rumours. Yes, it's true.we are going back to our feeder club and making Neil Warnock our manager. He will be looking to take Ambrose, Clyne and maybe even Speroni with him as we need a decent backup for Cerny. With Flav gone, Colin will get full control of the in's and out's at the club and will take us to the Prem for the start of the 2011 season. Well done Palace, we like the way your players better themselves with us, just like the good old days when we took Venables in 1980 and he took your better players then.I'm sure you got relegated that season.good times.

What a muppet, Clyne turned down Premiership football with Wolves, so what makes you think he would join your second rate bunch of Palace rejects.

Ok, Warnock will go as he fancies 3 years wages for 2 months work and Ambrose and Danns my follow but forget anyone else.

{{S.N.A.P}}

I also have heard that United will bid for Defour, I don't know much about him other than he is high on Fergies wish list, though 12–14 million was the figures i have heard!

Defour, De Gea & Rodwell will be bidded for by United that is definite, whether or not they get them will be another matter, but they will be bidded for, also Fergie is keeping a close eye on the Joe cole affair & feels he will get him if he leaves Chelsea, but i have also heard a new Chelsea contract is inevitable so the manks will probably miss out on that one.

Sorry there is know Messi, Silva Villa etc, fact of the matter is, there is only around 35–40 million in the "mank piggy bank".

25 Feb 2010 12:21:46
M.utd will sign standard liege midfielder stephen defour in the summer for around 15 million.

On manchester united rumours.

di maria won't be coming in. hes a similar style winger to nani, so why swap them and risk di maria not being able to settle for a couple of seasons when nanis just going well for us. we have enough young pacey wingers ( obertan, valencia, nani) we need more of a playmaker out there, David silva will be signed for 25 million. Barce won't sign him as the simply don't need him, how will he fit in to their team? over xavi iniesta messi or henry? plus they have bojan coming through, and will almost certainly one day add fabregas to that list.

goalkeeper is far more interesting van der saar may or may not retire, and fergie still retains some faith in foster and kusczack. so i if edwin does retire expect an ageing premiership keeper to come in, maybe swarchzer?

up top owen will go, with villa and everton interested. we will play 4 5 1 with the addition of silva, so expect no signings there. rooney will be supported by berba macheda welbeck and diof.

the only other signing will be jack rodwell for around 18 million.

swarchzer
rafael
rio
vidic
evra

fletcher
carrick
anderson

nani
rooney
silva

outs – g. neville ( thank god), scholes retire : (
and a host of youth players

25 Feb 2010 13:23:14
Nottingham Forest will sign Birmingham City left back David Murphy on loan until the end of the season.

25 Feb 2010 12:02:53
Rafa has indicated that he wants to strengthen his left side of play, so he will go all out for Juan Mata, price could go as high as 20m, and a left back, which Rafa hasnt decided who yet

Liverpool have been given a 30 day ultimatum by the banks to restructure their debt. the yanks are strugling to do so and no club has left restructuring debt so late(unless it was pompey of course). this highlights liverpool's crippling by the yanks.

Steve Tilson to be sacked as Southend manager if they are beaten tomorrow night at home to Charlton Athletic.

The whole Board of Directors wishes for him to be dismissed, with only the Charirman Ron Martin wishing him to stay (maybe so that he doesn't leave himself exposed, as Tilson is all that he has to protect him from the wrath of the fans). Also, there will need to be a pay–off to Tilson (with assistant Paul Brush also being dismissed) and this is likely to go through the courts.

News on Portsmouth:

Administration is now a certainty, but long term the club will survive.

I've been told that a representative from KPMG is going to be at Fratton Park on Friday, and that debts will be restructured over a number of years.

The debt owed is £65m which will be paid off over a period of ten years (so roughly £6.5m a year until 2020).

The club will also sell Fratton Park to the council/network rail (as a freight hub or land to extend the railway depot)– this will free up money and also accelerate a future move to a new ground to be built by the council. However, a move away from Fratton Park is unlikely for the next few years until the economic conditions improve.

What will also 'help' is that most of the current crop of players will not want to play in The Championship, and so will move on to Premiership Clubs (including those coming up from The Championship).

Portsmouth will have to rely on a mixture of youth/free transfers/lower league/cheap foreign players next season, but should stay in The Championship.

It will be a long and difficult road back to The Premiership, but we will be back one day. The important lesson for us and other clubs is to not let this ever happen again.

Whoever takes us over, please SACK THE BOARD!!!

Any Watford Fc Rumours guys? bored of the all the Top 4 rumours?'

Watford rumours:

No new players in on loan, club will most likely finish 14th–18th in the league.

Summer is crunch time – will need a full takeover as Lord Ashcroft will only donate money (he won't be chairman as it will mean him giving up his non–dom tax exile status – besides he's only allowed 60 days in the UK out of 365).

Hopefully an investment/takeover will put Watford back on the straight and narrow – rumour of a new stadium to be built near Kings Langley M1/M25 interchange, but not for 10+ years.

This is what will happen in the summer with manchester united.
vidic will be sold to real madrid for 25 million.
berbatov will undergo the operation he needs and stay for another season with united.
Nani will be swapped with de maria from benfica but united still to pay benfica 10 million on top.
Hugo Lloris will arrive from lyon for 20 million.
David villa will come to united for macheda+25 million.
Leonardo bonucci from Bari will arrive for 10 million and finally the playmaker position will be filled by milos krasic from cska moscow for 15 million.
Expect foster, de laet, anderson, neville, welbeck, owen, possebon and tosic all to play no further part with united.
Ferdinand and Hargreaves to find out if they can keep playing or retire early from football.
Next season united line up will be.

Lloris, rafael, ferdinand, bonucci, evra, fletcher, krasic, valencia, de maria, villa and rooney.

Arsenal rumours are simple!AW won't spend 100 million not even 50! Goalkeeper will be brought in.Joe Hart is the top target thou business might be hard to do with City and they only want him to go on loan for 1 more year.Robert Green will then be a cheap target otherwise he might spend 10–12 mil on Lloris or Neuer.
Stefan Savic will be brought in following his trail for 2.75m as that is the release clause on his contract. If Gallas goes Kjaer or Sakho will come in.
The only midfielders being looked at are Moussa Sissoko and Eden Hazard but he would have to do a Reyes like deal to get Hazard.
Chamakh seems to be going in but AW has already said he won't pay the 13 million being asked for Remy. However if Benzema is offered to clubs for 18 million i would expect AW to try and do business.
I honestly don't no nothing bout the Fabregas deal and no one on this site can cause there is no rumours coming from either side.

In order to save some of his credibility, Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale is to release a CD of his favourite songs sung by his (good?) self.

Although unconfirmed, songs that are to be included on this CD are:

Don't Believe A Word (Thin Lizzy)
Liar (Queen)
Caught Out There (Kelis)
Money (Pink Floyd)
Oh My God (Kaiser Chiefs)
Take That To The Bank (Shalamar)
Pinocchio Story (Kanye West)
Pigs Might Fly (Chris Rea)
In Too Deep (Sum 41)
No Plan B (Manafest)
Trouble (Shampoo)
White Flag (Dido)
Hot Water (Level 42)
Minder Theme (Duet With David Jones)

All proceeds from this sale will (honestly) go towards getting Cardiff City out of the financial hole they are in.

Watch out for Riddler on tour as well!
