1- At least Rodgers is being told to leave his old club alone by the owners!
2- Would anyone begrudge him a move to a club like arsenal?

The speculation has been in the media for a few days and to get 10m for a player we paid less than half a mill for is a good return!

I hope he's still here next season and if he does leave, he doesn't get struck down by ex-swans-syndrome which won't do his playing career any good for his last couple of years!


Swansea have confirmed no contact has been received from Arsenal regarding Williams. Personally think Williams would be better off staying in south wales

If he has any kind of ambition he will do everything that he can to play in Italian football. Its not that often our players get noticed bye those teams. And come back and make a bigger impact playing international football for Scotland. The Italians are best at defending in the world. So he would be playing against much more better defensive minded teams. Should be a great incentive for any young striker, who wants it.

Im a Bradford fan and I can safely say that dickovs appointment was crap, a manager who led a team no higher than 16th in the league below, not championship quality


As has been said. I can say what I like. a ball hasn't been kicked yet and people are on a downer. if by october rovers aren't performing then an opinion can be reached. if they doing ok I hope they will be serving humble pie at half time.

Blackburn better not beat other teams to the signing of another free agent from the lower leagues. Same thing happened with Judge and that Pompey keeper. How can we compete with relegated teams that can pay ridiculous wages for players.

What a miserable outlook. I'd find something else to do if I were you as moaning like this helps no-one. The 2012/2013 season is not even finished yet, and no-one has finished their transfer business. Town have already done 3 good deals and cleared out those not wanted. I'm not even going to give examples of success without spending big because there are too many. Football is a team game where the best team wins - not the best players, not the most expensive players -THE BEST TEAM.


Let's wait and see? I'm sure come the 3rd of aug the squad will look great, we are not second favourites for the league for nothing. in cook I believe and so should all Cfc fans he will get us out of this league.


I think that 3 weeks from pre season and 10 players on the books tells you everything. Players won't come ( so far ) and the (We have our targets lined up) looks a bit distant. Speak to a few agents at this level you will get a true picture.


I think a lot of players won't sign until June, there has not been many transfers all together yet, not just Cfc but everyone will start to sign in the next 3 weeks just see.


Chesterfield have made three signings with a further five at advanced stages. Players' holidays are holding things up and the official announcements may be delayed longer than the more impatient would like. The first to be publicly announced will be Eoin Doyle who will be paraded this week before going on holiday. All the players will be in place for 17th June when the squad jet out to Portugal for a team bonding exercise.

No one will buy him for more than about £750,000. Once he hears championship clubs are after him he'll force a move if walsall don't accept a reasonable offer for a league 1 player like that


Why do Huddersfield supports seem a bit bitter that Walsall want 1. 2M, to me a non walsall supporter it seems a reasonable offer as was 8M for Rhodes, if Huddersfield want him get the cheque book out!!

He`s only got a year left on his contract. Why tell the world an offer from hudds has been rejected unless it`s to create interest in a sale. be around 500k plus add ons and a good sell on clause. Just be wrangling around how much of the fee is paid up front and how much paid in installments. May well reach 2m over time but no way up front.


It doesn't mater what leauge the player comes from!! If he is the hot new prospect and I firmly believe he is then any club who wants to sign him (being under 24 and under contract) has to pay the correct price, everyone was saying 8M for Rhodes was rediculous price for a championship player but your chairman held out and got the correct price for a top player he should expect the same from the Walsall chairman who is a very good business man.


Pato is easily worth 1m I will actually put money on him getting sold for that amount, at 21 and scoring 13 from the WING! There ain't many players that have done that in league 1 especially at a club like Walsall, he toped the league 1 table for shots on target and made more appearances than any other Walsall player last season including your captain!


Lets get real. Town will make a sensible offer on a player that they think they can develop and then sell on. they won't pay silly money. so let's wait and see. there are other options out there. but again there are other clubs that may well want to bid more.


Aston Villa and Wolves have shown interest and could put in opening bid of 1M! Looks like he could be on his way


He won't go at all unless someone offers £1 million plus; he is a star player and Huddersfield know it, others too.


Why would Walsall accept an offer that low. There are count less preimer league teams and championship teams who want him. He will not go for cheap

Rhodes was a full international. Scored a bucket full for 3 seasons running. Had 3 years left on contract. Was at a c`ship club. Already rejected 5m from west ham in the january. No comparison at all with these situations.


Difference is Rhodes would do his job in any league, give him chances and he scores. His finishing is top draw


Sorry Walsall fans - Reading fan here. £2m for a league one player is ridiculous, he is £1m-1.2m at most. Rhodes went for £8m because he is a quality all round striker, I would love him at our club but he told my cousin who is close to him from Ipswich that Blackburn want £15m.

Rhodes could definitely cut it in the premier league. Jamie Paterson probably couldn't and could he cut it in the championship? maybe but no guarantees therefore he is not £2m

Hunt is comfortably the best full back at the club and the only one good enough to go onto better things. Town fans seem to hate players with genuine skill and value strong players over them. Take the bizarre love in with Woods as an example. A really technically woeful footballer but strong and throws in big tackles so some think he's better than Hunt. Truth is, Jack is 4 times the player of Woods and 3 Premier League clubs have all checked him out. No one would sign Woods in the top 2 divisions if he was available on a free as he has 2 left feet.


Hunt will leave if the right offer comes in and as I see it between 2-3 million would be good. but saying that I would rather add to the squad than sell you never know we could do a cardiff


All clubs now know how to tackle town, send everybody down the right of the park and watch the goals go in, Jack is a very average defender, but could his position be in midfied?.


Probably why he is equally as good at left back.


I'd accept 2m + add ons seen as we have Liam/Paul for LB and Callum who is actually a RB. I'd like to see him stay due to his attacking nature but I think we'd more than cope without him.

Also Mccoist in talks with Berras agent, wages might be stumbling block. Seems the mighty English championship isn't as big a draw as the mighty Glasgow rangers, and Ian viggurs didn't turn rangers down for Oldham, he was never offered a contract.

No agreement has been reached due to Coventry imposing to many demands including bringing in there own catering on match days Walsall wanted to supply catering to increase revenue also Coventry not willing to pay upkeep on the pitch which would need premiership style upkeep.

Stoke City's Breck Shea will cut short a nightmare time in England by joining New York Red Bulls this summer. Also, Steven N'zonzi has put in a transfer request, with Newcastle and Fulham battling for his signature

Brek shea won't go, he was bought but has had fitness issues and still hasn't fully recovered from his foot surgery


Stoke have rejected the Nzonzi request - it was put in before Pulis was sacked so a change of manager will probably change his mind.


The transfer request was rejected by Peter Coates from my recollection and how can you say nightmare he has had less than 4 months in England and he came injured


Shea and Geoff Cameron will both play a much bigger part next season for Stoke as both can offer the more progressive style of football that the chairman is looking for.

I think Bolton will go up this year if I'm honest, probably in the autos. They've built a really good squad imo.

I agree about Derby but I genuinely think this year could be our year. Not saying we'll get promoted but play-offs certainly aren't out of the question. We're doing things the right way and, as long as we keep the core of our squad, we'll have improved.

I've liked what we've done so far too - Grant's one of the best Champ keepers and I think Martin will surprise a few next year. Forsyth is a solid left back and Russell or Vaughan would both make us a better attacking team.


Thats the strange thing, if we had pushed the boat out in Jan we could have had momentium to take us into the play-offs.

It will interesting to see who lines up for Derby come August. Grant might be a minor masterstroke by Clough and I expect Forsyth too play a big role.

Watt would be a fantastic signing for the club, no doubt. Unfortunately, I do not see a way back for Gillespie and Odejayi. Both served the club well but chose to move despite having offers with the U's. Out of two, I would rather see Gillespie but he's rarely 100% fit with another injury never too far away. Better options for the club in my opinion.


Not sure Colchester would want Gilly back, the club were relieved to get his wages off the bill when they sold him.

Odejayi wants to stay in that part of the country to be close to his family.

As for the real akinfenwa; i'd give him a go if Jabo left; he's a similar-ish front man, if a little wider :)

Barnsley manager David Flitcroft is wanting to sign three players in the summer, including the permanent signings of Sheffield Wednesday hitman Chris O'Grady and former Stoke, Southampton and Derby midfielder Rory Delap. Flitcroft has earmarked two strong defenders as his priority.
It is thought Flitcroft is keen on taking advantage of Gus Poyet being suspended at Brighton by taking Stoke defender Matthew Upson. Upson is set to be released by City and will more than likely leave the Premier League. The former West Ham, Birmingham and Arsenal defender is likely to be courted by a number of the 'bigger clubs' in The Championship but Barnsley could offer him some sort of get out clause and regular first team football.
The second defender linked with the club is Toronto player Darren O'Dea. The 26 year old is keen on a move back to England after spending nearly a year in the MLS and Barnsley are reportedly the frontrunners. A lot of Championship clubs are also chasing the former Celtic player but the Oakwell club have already made contact.
The fifth player Flitcroft wants is Kallum Higginbotham. Higginbotham is a close friend of Flitcroft after their time together at Rochdale and could sign him on a permanent deal. Derby County are leading the chase for Dundee United striker Johnny Russell.

Derby, already in for striker James Vaughan are still pursuing Russell in case Vaughan chooses Huddersfield Town.

Dundee turned down a pathetic bid from an Italian side and it seems derby will be able to meet Dundee's demands for the player, who has one year left on his contract.

The third bid from the Italian side was £800 000. And they got 2 million for Goodwillie who had a year left on his deal. Presume that he will not be sold for any less, and probably will go for more. As he is the superior player, also doubt that he wants to play in the championship. And there will be English interest at the higher level, even if its from Wales.

It's believed he has agreed to blood Boro's academy lads with a steady conveyorbelt of talent leaving for short term loan deals. Main and Williams aren't 'pretty much first team'. They valuable first team football to aid their development, this is why they will be. sent to Hartlepool. After toughening up a bit, hey can challenge for 1st team action at the Riverside.

Lee Johnson and Simon Corney (Oldham manager and chairman) won't let Baxter leave as they've said they've built half the team around him. Croft probably will happen as he has not signed a new contract at Oldham and Dickov was the man who signed him. Also Wabara I think will possibly on loan as City won't want to sell him and Dickov brought him in at Oldham. Furthermore Jean Yves Mvoto hasn't signed a new contract at Oldham, so could possibly happen, as it was Dickov who originally signed him on loan and then permanently. Lastly Matt Derbyshire could happen as it was Dickov who signed him on loan whilst at Oldham.

Note for Doncaster fans, if Baxter does leave, he is a good player, but can be a lazy player who has moments of class and if it goes wrong he will blame other people. Also Croft is an awesome player and got our player of the year, although for a winger he's not got much pace although has lost a lot of weight whilst at Oldham. M'voto is a good defender but most defensive errors over the last two seasons at Oldham have been his fault although a good aerial threat from corners and free-kicks. Reece Wabara is a good full-back at League one level, not sure Championship and he needs a good winger in front of him, for example, Lee Croft as them two on our right side were amazing last season. Di Canio is keen on adding two attack minded players and a midfierlder. He has already registered his interest in Matthew Amoah. Walsall manager Dean Smith is looking to sign four players in the summer transfer window.
Smith is keen on securing two goalkeepers.
He is keen on adding a young stopper and an experienced one. Young prospect Ted Smith has been offered a trial with the club in pre season but is currently on a long term contract at Southend United
The second stopper Smith wants is Bury player Trevor Crason. The former Chesterfield loanee wants to leave Gigg Lane after their relegation to League 2 and feels The Banks Stadium is the right choice of destination.
Smith is also looking at a player from his league rivals.
He is wanting to sign Crawley forward Billy Clarke. The former Ipswich attacker only has one year left on his contract and Smith feels he can offer the 25 year old a big future in The Midlands and is rumoured to be telling his targets they are fighting for the top six next campaign.
The second striker Smith wants is Millwall forward John Marquis. Marquis was told he can leave on loan in the summer on loan under former manager Kenny Jackett but may wait until the new boss comes in.

In 2010 Dundee refused a bid of 500,000 and he was considered good enough to play for Scotland against Sweden. He has had terrible injuries since and problems with his weight. I think he was fed up with how the team played under Mcghee like everyone else and that's why he behaved like an person. He also wasn't given the chance to get fit before he got another bad injury. I think people should lay off Garry until he is fully fit and allowed to show what he can do. In regards to this rumour I think the SPL is a more likely destination that City. Hope he stays at Rovers though.


Gary showed during the awards ceremony at the end of the season that he's now in shape and showed through his performances in his first few games that he can actually play at a higher level than league 2. Ball playing CB's are rare and he showed that he can certainly pass a football, so if he can keep fit and in shape over the course of the 2013/2014 season there's no reason why a championship side would be seen as an absurd step.

Arsenal look the most likely club to sign Asmir Begovic from Stoke City. Walsall have rejected Huddersfield's bid of £500,000 for Jamie Patterson, the club will only consider letting him leave the club for 2M as he is under contract and is a key player for their promotion bid this year.

There is no way Dean Hoyle will pay 2 million for a league 1 player in his last year of a contract.

Dean is a very good business man and the will not go blowing silly money like that I do not believe. Dean Hoyle has stated along with the board quite clearly that we will not spend lucrative money for the sake of it and also not silly wages with the wage rules that are in place.


Thing is if Huddersfield are for example going to double his wages then he will or his agent will engineer a move, you can't stop these things happening, it's not nice but that what happened to Hudddersfield with Rhodes.


Walsall do not need the money and the price is to put off other clubs, if he puts in a transfer request it will be refused

Walsall are set to announce Neil Cutler as goalkeeping coach, whilstthe club have also been linked with ex Bury keeper Cameron Belford. Walsall have turned down a bid from championship side Huddersfield for winger Jamie Paterson, whilst a surprise name linked with the club is that of veteran striker Jamie Cureton who is set to leave Exeter City with Will Grigg and Febien Brandy yet to sign contracts. James Chambers is set to sign a new deal with the saddlers though.

His contract has only 12 months, so Walsall will want to cash in on him, rather than let him walk. He'll be at Huddersfield within 2 weeks. £500,000 + add-ons.


Jamie Patterson is happy at Walsall and wants to stay, Walsall will only part with him if Huddersfield or Sheffield United part with 2 Million to allow them to find a replacement.


He's under 24, so we'll get a chunky fee next season if he chooses to leave. An agreement will have to reached or it will go to a tribunal. So I don't see Walsall selling now unless it a very good offer. I think Grigg and Brandy will be the only ones to leave this summer - and that will damage us enough, if it happens.


I understand the reason for wanting 2mil but it isn't so you can find a replacement.

The second post is a load of b***s. Kenny Miller, Mark Brown, Steven Pressley, Mo Johnstone, Alfie Conn all played for both clubs. It is unusual for players to do so, but to say it doesn't happen is nonsense. If a player is good enough then I'm sure Celtic would be interested regardless of past allegiances. I doubt Wilson will be on his way to Celtic Park anytime soon simply because he isn't that good.


Wilson is a player who went to Liverpool with massive potential but has failed to live up to his hype. A move to Hull with Bruce could be just what the lad needs to prove himself, he has played international football for Scotland and is still young. I think for the right price 1m - 2.5m he would be a good buy as he is only young and he'd stay at the club if they don't stay up? Possible replacement for Chester maybe?

Deon Burton, offered, but not yet signed a 1 year contract extension at Gillingham, is a surprise target for former club Rotherham. Steve Evans was impressed with Burton's goals when the 2 sides met this season, and wants to add the former Premier League player's experience and nous to the dressing room.

Cheltenham Town are resigned to the fact Marlon Pack is leaving and are lining up Ryan Burge as his replacement, following his release from Port Vale. Burge is originally from Cheltenham and his grandfather, Rod, is on the board at the club.

Burge is a very good passer of the ball and an excellent midfielder for league 2 level. His only problem is his attitude, dix that and you've got a quality player.
