Norwich City announced a press conference a little while back which I believe was for today. I think we all know it was to announce Lambert's new contract, but absolutely no word of anything from any website, paper, twitter anything.
Me thinks a player was signed and there saving the story for the morning papers. Since the promotion there has been virtually nothing said out of Carrow Road, just that Lambert will probably sign on, they all went to Vegas, Russell Martin came home early for Scotland duty and thats it.
David Bentley has been identified as a target by the media. Hard to believe he is still only 26, seems to have been around for a long time now. He was a great talent but does he have ambition and hunger to fit the Lambert model?

Southampton are not going to sign Michael Owen, Paul Scholes or James Beattie. If anyone will sign from the premier league it will be Kevin Phillips or Wayne Bridge. BUT! those two are very unlikely to happen. If we are going to sign people it will be players from league 1 or bottom teams from the championship such as the preston who got relegated and it will happen behind closed doors. Even if we did sign Michael Owen I would'nt be happy as he his in his early thrirty's and would eat up the transfer budget. Saints will look to bring in younger talented players such as Sam Baldock, Ravel Morrison and Matt Phillips. Bristol Rovers have missed out on first choice manager Paul Buckle who has decided to stay with Torquay regardless of the result of the Play off final.
Rovers Chairman Nick Higgs will now turn to former England captain and current manager of Azerbaijani club Gabala FC Tony Adams.
Adams, who has had a mediocre career in football management so far is said to be very interested in one last crack at English football and is willing to drop down to the "basement" to resurrect his reputation within the English game.
Adams, 44, Will have to start from scratch if the deal to bring him to the Rugby ground is finalised after Rovers released over half their first team squad and sold their only valuable asset, Will Hoskins to Brighton & Hove Albion.
