Spurs offered £13mill for Matej Vydra but the player himself rejected the move. He is expected to sign for Watford FC at the end of the season. He, contrary to most footballers, wants to establish himself to ensure he is ready and prepared for top flight football - with Watford! {Ed003's Note - of course he does}

I think it helps that he is a Pozzo player and they don't have to accept any offer. He will probably sign a 2 year contract with Watford and then look to move on after that

Sheer fantasy.

Vydra said he will wait till the summer to decide whether he will stay at watford or not, he says he likes it here and he feels he has to proove to himself he is ready for the prem as he says he feels he may be a little too young.

Pozzos usually give larger contracts

It's amazing after one good season how big headed some fans become

13m is a good offer but would take more than that to pry him from the Pozzo's, because Vydra is only 20 so is no way near his peak yet

He seems like a nice young lad, he knows he can get a big move in a few years if he tries hard and keeps fit, good luck to the lad

25 Mar 2013 16:10:41
he is not good enough for spurs

25 Mar 2013 17:54:14
He is a lot better than Adihbyhor (bad spelling) but then most forwards are. He is awful

Defoe has lost form.

Vydra is young, voted and power player of the year and has 20 goals in 20 starts.

Mmmmm you sure you have better forwards

As a Watford I would like to apologise for some of our fans who seem to have very short memories and are getting carried away now that we have excellent owners. Vydra has been excellent but this is his first full season that has not been hampered by injuries. the decision about what he will do will be sorted at the end of the season, if we go up then we have a chance of keeping him but if not I imagine he would either want a transfer or return to Udinese to play in one of europes top flights.

26 Mar 2013 13:32:37
If the money is right then Vydra will go.
If the Pozzo family feel that playing another full season in Italy or England will increase his value further then they will keep him.

However, If the financial crisis persists in Europe, player valuations could drop massively and getting 10+ for Vydra could be good business.

Too good for Spurs, he'll go to a strong passing team which doesn't solely rely on speed merchants. Juventus etc.

Derby news

Pre contract agreements are close to being reached for Blackpool's Stephen Crainey and Leicester's Martyn Waghorn. {Ed003's Note - No they are not}

For domestic transfers no agreement can be reached until the end of the season. It is only out of contract foreign players that can negotiate before the end of the season! Check your facts.

Why do derby fans want crainy so much for. If he goes he will go somewhere in scotland

Jamie Ward pre contract was done before the summer he accidentally mentioned it in a interview

Jamie ward was already on loan with us. I think that allowed us to begin pre contract negotiations with the parent club sheffield united.

24 mar 2013 21:19:06
ashley grimes will this week sign on loan for rotherham united, with a view to permanent move in the summer. the two clubs have finally agreed a loan fee after grimes who is out of contract in the summer was offered a pre contract agreement at nys

Had a bet at start of season, thought you would walk league new ground etc, seems to me your manager is not as good as he thinks he is.

Are you a Rochdale fan? I'm
sure we are doing better than you :/

He's right though isn't he? We all thought the money we spent, the new ground, the new regime would get us closer than we are now.

5points of 2nd says where in hunt for promotion lol

24 Mar 2013 14:30:09
French born Lazio defender Modibo Diakite is set to sign a pre contract agreement to join Premier League side Norwich City within the next two weeks which will allow him to complete a move to the club as a free agent when his contract expires on the 30th of June.

Would be good, seems a strong defender

24 Mar 2013 19:50:28
Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter is a target for Championship side Derby County after his recent performances for the league 1 side

Good player but likes a booking.

24 Mar 2013 18:39:59
Bradford to sign Theo robinson and lee novak if wells moves to northampton in the summer. this is likely trust me {Ed034's Note - the only wa you'll get those is if you get promoted

Robinson and novak lge 1 strikers so would need to get promoted like ed said and why would wells go to northampton?
doubt it
true terrier

25 Mar 2013 15:55:52
Why would Wells go to Northampton?

24 Mar 2013 17:18:05
paul hartley to leave at end of season and brian reid and patrick bonner to be employed. mike mulraney likes the 2 up and coming management pair

Where is paul going

24 Mar 2013 16:19:09
Been hearing that if Colchester Stay up, A main target is Luke Freeman of Stevenage! Freeman is unhappy after being left on the bench on more than one occasion! He believes he deserves regular starts!

Wont happen. I know from a decent source that joe dunne actually spoke to gary smith about him being a bad apple within his squad after the game at stevenage. dunne had to clear a number of players with a similar attitude from the club in january, and saw what he'd experienced in freeman.

Oh dear. What an arrogant player. Its all about the interests of the team not the. If stories about his attitude are correct then I hope no other club touches him.

25 Mar 2013 15:56:34
Freeman will go to a much better club than Colchester likely to be in the championship and probably Peterborough.

24 Mar 2013 16:30:52
Wilfred Bony is set to sign a pre-contract agreement at West Ham United at some point next week.
Will cost between £12-14 million in the summer.
Will be a major coup for the Hammers if this comes off.

How can he sign a pre-contract agreement the pay 12/ 14?

Graham Carr has watched him and doesn't think he's got it for the pl

24 Mar 2013 14:00:56
A few youngsters are going to be loaned out for Barnsley FC
Jones
Rooney
Silva
And one of keepers Alnwick or lidakevicius
All to to leugue 2 and conference sides

Silva won't be leaving

24 Mar 2013 14:33:44
This geezer's bang on the money, I'm a spurs fan who works in both Belgium & Holland in press relation & this story is indeed growing legs. Another bit of news is that West Ham will have to move quick for Wilfred Bony as the mega bucks Russian clubs & la liga teams are eyeing the Ivorian.
Back to Fulham - Ajax's Tom Alderwald ( prob wrong spelling) is Jol's main target along with Douglas, Fulham are trying to sign Chadli & the Brazilian for €12m.

24 Mar 2013 13:51:33
bad news for aston villa is that forward andreas weimann is to snub a new deal and join brossia dortmund

Strange that! He said he hasn't turned down any deal as reports suggest & he'll be at Villa Park next year.

24 Mar 2013 13:50:06
Doncaster's young Highly-Rated winger' James Husband as attracted interest from Liverpool and Everton in recent weeks.

Also Barnsley interested in Jonathan Maxted and Wolves interested in youth player Harry Middleton.

Husband is a left back by trade, not a winger

Although I am a rovers fan I can't really see us selling players in summer unless its for big money, already got a very small squad would have to be a few million so we could bring in maybe up 10 players next year

24 Mar 2013 13:38:54
de guzman has declared he is very happy in wales and would happily sign for swansea permanently but arsenal are sniffing around

Sounds like they want half the team if you believe the rumours. De Guzman, vorm, williams, Rangel, Hernandez etc.

An Arsenal scout was at the liberty, was he scouting potential targets? no it was a couple of weeks before Swans played Arsenal at home.

24 Mar 2013 13:37:53
william gallas will move to fulham in the summer

He will retire

Wouldn't want to have him as he is too old and we need to bring the age of the squad down.

24 Mar 2013 13:36:23
andre villas boas is targeting ivorian striker seydou doumbia. the cska forward is high on the wiish list of the white harte lane cluyb.

chelsea are hoping to tempt southamptons nathanjiel clyne to the bridge in a 7 milllion deal

Not good enough for chelsea

Good enough for Saints and the younger England teams/set-ups, good enough for Chelsea, bet he doesn't go there though.

7mil not enough for us to consider it. We don't have a natural replacement lined up - hence why we would push a natural CB out wider (i. e. Maya). We could look to replace in the Summer but why would we? he's young, quality and still getting better.

We probably paid a similar figure to get him in the summer so he'd never go for just 7m and plus he's a key player so would cost a lot more

^^ not good enough for Chelsea yet but will be, anyway 7 million not enough for Mr Cortese to even consider. Next England RB.

24 Mar 2013 13:40:57
westham are close to a deal for striker wilfred bony who will cost 10 million plus

24 Mar 2013 13:37:14
liverpool, everton, westham and west brom are all interested in japan star honda who is out of contract this summer.

No he isn't. He can talk to clubs from other leagues this summer. His contract runs till January.

27 Mar 2013 18:21:09
Would love to see Honda at the baggies, one of my favorite players in the world, top draw midfielder, SIGN HIM UP!

24 Mar 2013 13:31:31
asmir begovic will move to arsenal this summer in a 10 million deal

24 Mar 2013 13:28:53
Aldershot towns top goal scorer Daniel Hylton looks like he'll be joining Peterborough in the summer, posh were interested in him a while ago and have kept tabs on him, he is fa cups top goal scorer with 8 goals, and D.F has won the race to sign him ahead of Sheffield utd middlesbourough and mk dons

I thought he had signed a pre-season agreement with us

Some-one posted on the 10th Feb that he had already signed for us :

A pre season agreement with who?

Why would Posh want him? Banned for 8 games for Racist language a while back and only 4 league goals in current campaign.

24 Mar 2013 13:27:54
liverpool manager brendan rogers has earmarked villa stopper brad guzan as the potential replacement for reina who could be sold this summer. liverpool are also interested in villas kieran clarke and are expected to make a double swoop this summer

24 Mar 2013 13:35:13
steven jovetic will be in the premier league next season with a host of the big boys lining up moves. man city are favourites bus arsenal and spurs are very interested.

24 Mar 2013 12:42:52
Portsmouths jed Wallace is interesting a few clubs with crystal palace having scouts at the last two portsmouth games. They are ready with a 500k offer

Anyone on here know the score for the brighton palace game last week. only last time they played each other brighton had a player sent off after just five mins and I wanted to know who the best team is when both teams played each other with 11 men {Ed003's Note -Why are you hijacking a post that has nothing to do with Brighton? just post something that will be put on banter and why not register a name so people know who they are replying to?? }

25 Mar 2013 12:11:42
One game doesn't determine who is the better team, for example Crystal Palace beat Manchester United last year this doesn't make palace better than Man u. On the other hand a league table doesn't lie, so can anyone tell me if Palace are above Brighton, if so I think this will answer your question to who the best team are.

Post Two is probably a Southampton fan, they seem to spend their time on Pompey forums

In the history of the 2 teams brighton have won 37 times and palace 32 times so this should be taken into acount when deciding

Yes because results dating back 70 odd years really determine who is currently the better side. In recent history BHAFC were in league one and below for near on 20 years, while and CPFC were in the championship and above in the same period!?

And how many times each team has been in the premiership

BHAFC = 4 years in top league
CPFC = 10 years in top league

BHAFC = no premier league ever!

Looks like were go round and round in circles so mabie we should now judge on attendances bhafc top that so that ends the debate more people are willing to pay to watch brighton

BHAFC - Average attendance never above 7000, all of a sudden average of 25,000, more plastic sitting on the seats than the seats are made of!?

Yea new plastic ground costing 9.1 mil in losses a year. wow sustainable!?

No plastic seats at the Amex it's all padded for the 28000 season ticket holders and it was only 7000 whilst Brighton waited for stadium to be built

24 Mar 2013 12:34:42
Alonso to Liverpool 12m.

24 Mar 2013 12:32:57
Chelsea set to bid £7.5 million for clyne

They can bid £7.5 Million for him, but I wouldn't like to be there to hear the response. Also heard that Chelski are after Shaw. Guess what. He isn't for sale either.

The only way these players will be leaving is if they wish to go, but considering they are getting the chance to play in the premier league at their age, they have little interest in going elsewhere.

If their heads are turned by agents etc, then they may well go, but like Alex Oxlaide-Chamberline they will cost top dollar. Gone are the days when top talent from the Saints academy leaves on the cheap.

I don't recall Clyne coming from the academy!

24 Mar 2013 11:30:28
ed any news on the striker brighton are ment to be signing on loan?

Simon church

Jamie mackie or Simon Jackson

Somebody has said that Conor Wickham is signing for Brighton tomorrow

The striker will be announced tomorrow or Thursday, got signed before gus went to Barbados. Source. ketchup

24 Mar 2013 11:29:04
Burnley forward Martin Paterson linked with a move to champions league outfit Olympiakos.

He's not that good. Runs around a lot, works hard, but not talented enough for Champions League. If we get a good fee I'm sure we'd take it!

24 Mar 2013 11:27:06
West Brom watching Football League prospects Ben Marshall, Jack Hunt and Jed Wallace.

Understandable has our dev squad and under 18s are pretty poor, if this brown is that good how come our youth teams keep losing, what's happened we always seem to have decent results the last couple of years

24 Mar 2013 10:26:12
Watford have been assessing potential transfer targets should they get promoted:
- Almen Abdi already at the club on loan
- Matej Vydra or 'the otter' is believed to be top of the transfer list with 20 goals so far this season
- Adriano has been linked with watford, as the pozzos would be looking to show intent. The brazillian who is currently out of contract was once meant to be the next best player in the world at milan but career fizzled off and is currently out of contract after moving back to flamengo
- Watford are also looking to sign two wing backs who could make the cut in the premier league and are scouting jean Beausejour and callum mcmannaman of wigan should they get relegated and will be looking to bring max gradel back to england who left leeds for sainte-etienne
- Finally watford will be looking to extend nathaniel chalobahs loan for another season andbridcutt of brighton and willl be looking to sign roger johnson of wolves to play cb.

There is a a long way to go before watford get promoted if they do
hopefully they won't fox

Bridcutt won't ever go to Watford he belongs with Brighton when they get to the premier league

24 Mar 2013 13:41:53
Personally I think Vydra will go to a much better club in the Premier League as he easily has the talent to cut it at the top level.

Bridcutt won't ever go to watford eh? well he's already played for watford so I think there's every chance he would return if watford offered him if they're in the premiership

Vydra needs to prove he can cope with being man marked before a bigger club comes in for him

If Watford are promoted, they will be looking at better players than Bridcutt.

Bridcutt loves it at Brighton he wouldn't leave us

We've had Bridcutt on loan before and he was appalling. Whilst I'm sure he's improved I'm sure we can get much better players than him.

Gradel won't go to Watford. He loves leeds and may come back to them in the summer.

Bridcutt wanted by westbrom and you think your better than him? Oh dear

Bridcutts ok but I think when we comfortably beat them st the Amex he was easily phased out of the game by Abdi and Chalobah. He Will be a decent player but will need a couple more seasons yet

Bridcutt!? ha total delusion from watford! You are a decent team, but are only in the promotion mix due to a disgusting and insulting transfer regime that has left you hated by the majority of English football. Bridcutt is WAY WAY too good to play for you lot, if he leaves it will be to a FAR better club. He is easily the best holding mid in the championship. {Ed034's Note - he's good but he is not the best.

Bridcutt has the potential to play for arsenal or Real Madrid, not cheating Watford or any other tin pot club {Ed034's Note - Real Madrid hahaha you should go on stage mate. I'd pay to hear stuff like that

I quote poyet when I say "he could play for Real Madrid"

Ed034, who the hell do you support? You are clearly either a bitter stripey Nigel or a plastic prem fan with no knowledge of championship football, as it has been very clear over this season that bridcutt does have the quality to play at the highest level (alright not madrid, that is ridiculous, but high prem yes). Do your research. The job of the editor is not to give poor abuse to posters. {Ed034's Note - not sure where you have read abuse, but it is in none of my posts. i support nottingham forest, so are wrong on both accounts.
i agree he is good and one of the best in the division and yes can play in the prem, but Real Madrid lol really???

Well he is a better player than khederia will ever be

Have you guys seen adlene guedioura for forest. defo best cdm in the championship!

Adlane Guediora is up there with the best cdm's in the Championship Scores Some unbeliveable Goals from distance 35 Yards plus ( None this Season - yet) and no I don't Support Forest but Hope they get promoted be Good to See them in the Top League.

And people have been having a go at Watford for being deluded? ha Brighton. wow.

Hmmm I notice that Bridcutt has been voted in the top ten players in the Championship this season. Voted for by the managers of the Championship, I think they know a lot more about football than any fan (or the ed) on here, however deluded they may be, argument over! {Ed034's Note - right if you would like to whips your eyes and clear your mind, I will say this as basic as I can. I have. Never said he is not a good player, I have laughed at the thought, of which a poster wrote, he is good enough for Real Madrid. Now I really hope that has sunk in and it wasn't written using too many long words. If you need anymore help to understand, I will get my two year old to explain

24 Mar 2013 10:07:59
Swansea, Stoke, Brighton and Derby VERY interested in Pompey starlet Jed Wallace. Jed, who was recently called up for England u19's was scouting massively by top clubs including Chelsea and Manchester United.

So why would he come to brighton when Swansea and stoke can pay 2-3 times more money for him

24 Mar 2013 20:17:54
Just a bit of info, I saw Jed play for non-league Whitehawk when on loan from Portsmouth's youth. He was originally scouted from a similar level by Pompey scouts before their second meltdown, but whilst Magri, Webster and Harris were touted as assets worth snapping up, Wallace's move to Whitehawk meant he slipped under the radar somewhat. He went on to score twelve goals from only ten starts for the minnows; from central-midfield. Basically, he just waltzed in and started to run the show. He is a serious talent, but I'd say the move to Brighton is most likely; they are based very near Whitehawk since the move to Falmer, and the location could play a big part in Wallace's decision.

You don't know the players situation at his parent club.

Portsmouth might accept a bid off any of the clubs named because they have to. Pompey's financial situation is dire and say someone like Brighton made a small bid for him. That might be accepted. Then Stoke and Swansea would miss out.

Also the 19 year old might not want to sit on a premier league bench.

A team like Derby County have a very good youth integration set up. The best in the championship. it is a frequent occurrence at Derby for a player to have played in the under 18, under 21 and 1st team in one season. Will Hughes the stand out name but the under 18 team beat Manchester City in the FA youth cup with nearly all the team having played for the under 21s at some stage and around half having been on the first team bench at some point.

At Stoke or Swansea they cannot offer that sort of integration because the premier league is so demanding. How many 17/18/19 year olds have played for the Swansea 1st team or Stoke 1st team.

Ben Daviea at Swansea, Joe Allen came through. Neil Taylor was signed from Non League. Jazz Richards is now on loan at Palace. So to answer your question many have had the opportunity at Swansea from a young age or lower league club.

In the current Swansea side there aren't any because you are a premier league club that is my point. You may have had players come through previously but there aren't any players at 19 years old being given a chance in the Swansea first team. Ben Davies is the only player that fits that category.

But what I did was showed that there always is a 19 or younger player in the Swansea squad. So if this boy is worthy of a place in the Swansea squad, he would get a place

I agree with that but somewhere like derby or Brighton the chance of him playing first team football is much greater because those teams are in a poorer standard division. You wouldn't have time to give arter a run of games in the premier league he would have to make an impact straight away.

If the lads that talented (I haven't seen anything of him), then he will get his opportunity with us Swans sooner than he may think with the likely busy schedule next season.
Davies has come through the ranks and done very well (due to Taylors unfortunate break) and if we think we can just sit around and have the same squad next season, I would be very much surprised.
We know Britton, Rangel and Monk aren't going anywhere unless they're told they have no more chances - they're jacks through and true! But anyone else is pretty much open to temptation for the MONEY they can have (Allen springs to mind!).

Luckily, we have a fantastically run club thanks to the board and more often than not, the players always go on about how much they enjoy being part of what the club is about. Chico and Michu especially have stated how much they like it so let's keep our fingers crossed. eh?!

24 Mar 2013 09:41:37
The embargo will not be lifted at Swindon by deadline. Reason is atkeover is underway by a Middle east Organisation. May mean they will miss promotion this season however will secure the future.
Meanwhile Jed and Company will make a few pounds out of the deal not bad for doing not a lot
This is possibly why the FL is stalling and they also realise they made an error with last takeover

More rubbish coming out of the county ground. Del Boy (JED) will make money out of the season tickets already sold for next season. You are right about loan players not coming in, the first team will be made up of youth players on very low wages next season.

Yes could be true beacuase I read in a natinoal newspaper a few weeks back that a overseas takeover of swindon town will go through?

This will never happen! Jed and co are here for the long run, the reason for their lack of contact can be simply put down to PDC inevitable lawsuit against us. they are not allowed to chat too much about it as fear that what could be said could go against the club in the long run, safest way is to keep quiet! we may not get automatic this season, but next we will be right up there for sure!

I think there is some truth in this report as I also see the report in the mail saying that a guy called alwaleed bin talal who is a prince and ranked something like 13th richest in the world with a wealth of between 13/15 billion this guy owns the savoy hotel in London owns 200 cars from rolls Royce to Lamborghini collection owns the largest private plane in the world a double deck jumbo, it said in the mail that he was currently in talks to buy Swindon town football club, is this the work of sir William patey who lives in Saudi Arabia, you never know jed and his circus could only be for a short term to stop us going into administration and get a little profit at the end for there trouble let's face it none of them are very vocal about what's happening, they haven't exactly spent anything if anything reduced the players bill with paolo and his team going, frankly I can't see jed and his circus having any money at all, there is no smoke without fire.

That mail story was rubbished weeks ago! It was a prankster who put it up on Wikipedia which it appears is the mails key source! It's nonsense! Honest!
