Northampton Town are set to sign Nicholas Bignall on a one year contract.

Really hope this isn't the case.

Very strong rumours saying that lee barnard could be coming back to southend and a deal for charlie lee could be completed soon. Out of don cowan and conor clifford, clifford looks the most likely to sign but in any ways both would be decent signings.

Well we could get lee now we sold cresswell

It's not Barnard, it's Jonathan Forte (also of Southampton). Could sign on loan before the QPR game.

Confirmed no truth in stories linking former Southend United striker Lee Barnard with a return to Roots Hall (from an SUFC club source).

Ec-Chelsea and Middlesbrough Goalkeeper Ross Turnbull is on trial with Middlesbrough and is playing for them tonight against Rotherham.

God help us

Turnbell is going to be second choice goal keeper, as Jason steel is been sold to arsenal for 6m, Middlesbrough will replace Steele with Scott finders for 330k plus Jason leuitwiler too Hartlepool, NOTICE edwardo Vargas will return to Napoli if there recive a bid NOTICE he won't return just for another club too loan him he will become a boro player for 3m plus deals for vitor silva and Luca barrios

He was playing keep fit that's all

Steel ain't going and would rather av scoot over turnbull

Great news Ross Turnbull will be a great competition for Jason Steele

Vargas doesn't play for Middlesbrough Napoli turned it down

Or yea keep fit he's in the plans mate like it or not I hate it he's no good

Flinders to the boro jayson other way steel no1 end ov

Steel worth 10mill

Jason Steele is going to arsenal for 6 million, which is excellent as we can now afford our targets

According to the northern echo vitor deal and vargas deals have fallen through! not looking good for the start of the season. gutted

Likely to sign :
Matthew Bates (former Bristol City)
Vitor Silva (Pacos de Fereira)
Borja Gonzalez (Atletico Madrid) (loan)

Not signing :
Eduardo Vargas (Napoli) (loan)
Stephen Ireland (Aston Villa) (loan)
Ross Turnbull (ex-Chelsea)

These are facts. Learn to deal with them.

Crawley are offloading Gary Alexander to Northampton, and he held talks with them earlier today. This will free up the finances to finally seal the long and protracted signing of Marlon Pack expect something to happen in next few days.

Barker has also said he wants another striker before the season kicks off but it all depends on finances.

Crawley's finances are being looked at by the owners after they found a hole in the finances that could not be accounted for, Richard Low former CEO was held responsible for this and was relieved of his duties last week.

A significent 'Black Hole' apparently that has seriously alarmed the owners and explains why Barker has been unable to bring in the players he's wanted too this summer. Alarm bells are ringing very loudly at the Broadfield Stadium.

Nothing would surprise me about low look at the mess he left Aldershot in always had a bad feeling about him since he came to crawley.
He has left the club in a dangerous position

23 Jul 2013 19:29:01
Jack Doherty has agreed to sign a 2 year contract for the blues and is putting pen to paper Tomorrow :) {Ed003's Note - Ipswich I think.}

24 Jul 2013 17:20:14
good observation Ed LOL

23 Jul 2013 19:56:42
Bradford City are set to sign Lee Camp on a two year deal.

I doubt very much that Campo's signature is imminent at Bradford. He is currently on trial at a Championship club in Yorkshire

I suspect that Campo's wage demands will be too much for Bradford. When the Tractor Boys were interested, the deal collapsed due to his wage demands

Glasgow Rangers are also considering Camp as a keeper option. Difficult call for him if true. Rangers or Bradford! Mmm

A championship club that play bradford on saturday so he will be able to get a good look at the ground if doncaster reject him

Think he would pick Bradford over rangers if I'm honest

Won't be difficult decision really third tier English beats third tier Scottish hands down every time

Rangers are not third tier.

SPL, Scottish div 1, rangers are in Scottish div 2, therefore being 3rd tier

Guaranteed first team football at Bradford and I'm sure Camp will be wanting a wage every week come August

He isn't 'guaranteed' first team football here at all.

25 Jul 2013 08:43:50
Bradford are after him and he is not training in england he is at dundee utd training.

23 Jul 2013 19:46:57
Swansea city looking to loan John guidetti after being told he will have limited chances next season at man city

Hes on too much

He, s going to WBA on loan, this will be JP, s marquee signing. not Anelka.

This could make a very interesting loan deal. The chance to play in europa league would certainly attract this kind of player as not much chance of him getting many games for City.

No he's going to swansea, not west brom

23 Jul 2013 19:30:54
West Brom will allow Chelsea to pay no compensation for young prospect Izzy Brown, on the basis they get Victor Moses in a cut price deal

24 Jul 2013 02:44:34
West Brom will approach Aston Villa regarding a cut price deal for winger Charles N'Zogbia, also German Denis, although a move is unlikely after he thumped 15 goals for Italian side Atlanta in Seria A

24 Jul 2013 09:21:53
Christ!we been trying to get shut of one whinging sulker in odemwingie, we don't want another especially from vile- a.

24 Jul 2013 09:23:25
West Brom stepping up efforts to sign Kalou. He has a release clause of £2.6m which can be met. West Ham also interested in player.

West ham are interested in every player were interested in we showed interest in kalou ba and others and straight away their interested they need to hire a bloody scout

23 Jul 2013 18:55:37
Middlesbrough manager tony Mowbray set to bring in billy sharp to replace scott mcdonald

Sharpe will cost over a million more likely couple of loan signings any word on ireland

This isn't true. Southampton would require 1 million which we don't have. ask of our signings will be on loan or free

Nope, borja gonzales in, and juke to be number 1

Billy is a great player but unlikley to join as we are signing Borja Gonzalez on a season-long loan. Don't start saying we'll get Billy on loan because this all happened a month ago during the Danny Graham delusion.

23 Jul 2013 18:48:02
Tottenham winger, Ryan Fredericks is set to continue his footballing educationn by joining Bristol Rovers on an initial 6month loan deal with an option to extend till the end of the season.

23 Jul 2013 18:39:19
Derby are looking at signing one of four centre halves they are leon barnett, gary monk, cyrus christie or reece wabara, christie would be perm the others 6 to 12 month loans

Barnett has one year left on his contract with Norwich so there is no way they will allow any loan deal.

Cyrus Christie is predominantly a right-back. He can play centre-back, but that's not his natural position, nor is he anywhere near as effective there.
Regardless of all that, HANDS OFF!

Christie would be the perfect signing then, can cover centre half and also right back when needed

23 Jul 2013 18:36:28
Marlon pack was at Bristol city today discussing a deal

I think marlon pack could be a welcome addition for bristol city. if it does turn out to be true. been flying about al summer. so there is a possibility.

23 Jul 2013 18:27:05
I have it on good authority that Mick McCarthy is looking to bring in Guedioura for a fee of £2. 8M to Ipswich Town. This would be a bad move for Forest after losing star player McGugan to Watford FC

I doubt it as MM dropped him at Wolves and that's the reason he came to Forest. Forest got a bargain and it would take 3m from a Prem team to get him. And McGuagan was never our star player, really poor effort at a rumour.

Bullspit, ITFC won't spend more than a couple of 100k on anyone this transfer window, we certainly don't have £2.8m to be jizzing about

There is no way Ipswich would pay £2.8m for Guedioura - Does Financial Fair Play mean anything to you! Why would he go sideways when he's more likely to go up the leagues? Ipswich is a rest home for forest has beens.

23 Jul 2013 20:14:48
It would be a surprise McCarthy never gave him a fair chance at Wolves. Although it was obvious to most of us he was better than most of the others.

23 Jul 2013 20:43:15
Ipswich will not be spending that kind of money in this transfer window.

23 Jul 2013 21:19:51
firstly, he's worth A LOT more than £2.8m. secondly why would he move to a smaller club in the same league? and he doesn't trust mm after not giving him a fair chance at wolves.

23 Jul 2013 22:41:30
Number 1 - It would take more than £2. 8M to get Geddy.
Number 2 - McGugan the star player! Lol! He was used as an impact sub 99% of the time & 75% of that, never made an impact.
Number 3 - If Geddy did leave us it wouldn't be to go to a lower Championship club. No disrespect.
Number 4 - This rumour is complete BS. Top marks for wishful thinking though.

We don't need him. Micks built his team, we've won 5/5 pre-season games - we don't need/want him. We've got players just as good.

Rest Home for forest has beens? WHo do you mean as Chambers was excellent for us last season. Sour grapes I believe.

23 Jul 2013 17:47:29
Barnsley to sign both chopra and maclean in next 24 hours funded due to increase of season tickets sales plus the trailest lopas that will end of more signings

I can't see all 3, maybe mcclean and tryalist. I think chops will go for the biggest wages he can get. so doubt that's us. maybe wrong though.

Don, t think they will sign both, think
would cost too much, despite increase in season tickets sales

We signed Cofie too who will hopefully be pushing for a place, I think one and the trialist max, but would like all 3

He will get a good view of donny getting relegated then.

Cannot see chopra fitting in with flitcrofts work ethics. and we all no "the only way is ethics".

Look like chopra signing for blackpool so let's hope we get mclean.

23 Jul 2013 17:28:51
Watford are looking at signing Reading goalkeeper Alex McCarthy. With both McCarthy and Adam Federici expecting first team football this season, Reading could be tempted to sell one of them.

{Ed029's Note - McCarthy will only leave for a top half PL club and for circa £10m.

We already have Almunia and Bond, both good enough for this division. We just need a young third choice.

Would never go to Watford, or any other champ team

That has to be the funniest rumour I've ever heard McCarthy will be our number for at least a season and will only move on if we don't get promoted

I swear Watford have a supposed Transfer Embargo? Also if all their signings are loan and frees from sister clubs then since when can they afford £10 Mil or higher? Absolute rubbish.

if it would be either it wouldn't be the England u21 international with a bright future and impressive top flight season behind him!

Note to Ed: £10M - ha ha ha, in your dreams mate {Ed029's Note - The club have warned off interest with a higher quote than that.

Is this fella having a laugh? Funniest BS so far this window. Watford wouldn't get feds let alone big mac. Get back ti your nest sillybee, sorry hornet.

Thank you Ed for telling people that this Is delusional. If we were to sell one anyway it would be Federici.

Hahaahahaahahhaahahaahahah Watford could NEVER sign a Reading starter. hahaahahah. hahaahahah sorry can't stop...

Best joke I've heard all day. Going to Watford

The club has quoted 15m to warn off potential suitors and many have said that the fee should be close to 20m, including Karacan amongst others.

If we sell one it would be federici. Alex is to good for reading let alone watford.

Yeah we might be willing to let one go, but that one won't be McCarthy unless a top half prem team offers us £15m

Sorry a load of rubbish, W*tford only sign players from Granada and Udinese so it doesn't cost them a thing, of course this isn't at all illegal. The sooner they get screwed over the better.

23 Jul 2013 21:57:41
One good game vs liverpool and he's worth 20 mill?he was the worst goalkeeper at upton park last year by a mile. 20 quid more like

More silly talk about Watford's embargo. It is merely a surveillance measure with which the Football League and FA can monitor our transfers to make sure everything is in place and no dodgy dealings are going on. Put in place after our previous owner had some funds go 'missing' following Danny Graham's move to Swansea.

23 Jul 2013 22:05:42
Reading fans - totally delusional over value - do you seriously think you would turn down real money if it was put on the table?

McCarthy fits the Pozzo model in some ways - If Watford / Udinese wanted the player he would be in Hertfordshire just like that!

But with Bond already - why would we?

23 Jul 2013 22:37:39
just spat my drink all over the screen, so thanks to the joker who posted that.
are people forgetting we have taylor? he'd be the one i'd let go if any went. feds would be a great back up to mac, plus they'll both be pushing eachother to start so the competition for places will be good, and mccarthy has said that they all get on very well, so there's no crying over spilt milk saying he took my position

the only way watford would get feds or mac would be if they were playing for udinese

No dodgy dealings!?! You've signed 8 players from one team on a permanent contract and no transfer fees involved. That to me is a loan deal. What you are doing is completely against the fairplay of Football. The FA and FL should be doing something about it but they won't because they're useless.

The chairman at RFC can turn down any offer mate not like he's short of a few quid

I haven't seen anything yet to suggest that the players joined Watford on a free. But as our owner is essentially paying himself for the deal it doesn't really make any difference whether they are on a free or not. Funny how people accept Man City buying their way up the Premier League but as soon as Watford start signing some decent players its all dreadfully unfair!

How is it anymore unfair then reading wit a foreign chairman throwing millions at players like pobregnyak? How is what we do worse? This rumour is rubbish though

Reading do owe Watford a favour. We sold them Trevor senior. Although we did apologise and buy him back.
I can't see McCarthy going to another championship team. Reading stand a good chance of going straight back up.

24 Jul 2013 08:49:44
There is wishful thinking at it's best - he'll stay with reading for their promotion push.

If we had 10m to spend it would more than likely be on 5 players not just 1

We didn't get them free, we paid all of £1 for Italian International Fabbrini. Ripped off IMHO.

Throwing millions at pogrebnyak? The one we got on a free? Yes his wages are high but it is completely different to signing 8 players from one club.

"No dodgy dealings! You've signed 8 players from one team on a permanent contract and no transfer fees involved. That to me is a loan deal. What you are doing is completely against the fairplay of Football. The FA and FL should be doing something about it but they won't because they're useless"

So signing someone from another club for no fee is a loan deal? Gone are the days of a free transfer then. It's like nobody surplus to requirements has ever left a club whilst in contract. Oh, wait, didn't Joey Barton still has time on his Newcastle contract when he moved to QPR? Illegal move.
Lee Hodson left for a free to MK Dons this week from Watford. Great prospect, still ing contract. I guess that was illegal too. Also, any signings coming into Watford have to be ratified by the FA & FL due to the Regulation 19 Transfer Embargo. If you read the rules (19. 1 to be exact) you'd understand that Watford ARE actually allowed to register players during this period with the prior written consent of the FL executive - they can say no but would have to have a very strong case against why the transfer of registration will not be allowed. So my point is, Watford are not against the "fair play" of football because if they were the authorites would have stepped in. Are we clear? Are you able to step off your soapbox now?

"No dodgy dealings! You've signed 8 players from one team on a permanent contract and no transfer fees involved. That to me is a loan deal. "

Why is that only a loan deal?

1) Not all, but some of the signings were of the 'undisclosed fee' category;
2) Some, but not all, were of the 'free transfer' category;
3) Others were in the 'free agent/out of contract' category;

Why should Watford have to be the only club to pay transfer fees for out of contract players - which is what you appear to be suggesting?

'Italian International'. Haha, you're aware he played 6 minutes in a friendly a couple of years ago. Think 'Ex-international' is a more suitable description, at a push.

Ridiculous all round - we have two top keepers already in Almunia and Bond, and there is no way Reading would sell McCarthy.

The way I see it, the Pozzo's bought these players at some point anyway. Some of them they bought for us specifically, others they didn't, but they spent the money at some point. So it is in no way different to a wealthy businessman taking over the club and buying the players for us. They are just using their assets, whether they be players or money, to strengthen the club. Just because it's a different way of doing it, does not make it any worse than the simple principle of a wealthy investor.

24 Jul 2013 14:23:51
Interesting you say you got pobregnyak for free as rumour was there was a £2 million signing on fee. Doesn't sound like good value for a free does it?

He can't be an ex-international he's 21. What does that make Wayne Bridge?

I thought Trevor Senior went to Middlesbrough not Watford.

Signing on fee goes to player. Fulham got nothing hence free.

Does make it worse as Watford under ffp could not afford those players so pozzos bought them to undinese just to give them to Watford to get around it. Yes legal but immoral

Please, FFP doesn't work. Man City, PSG, Monaco etc. aren't sanctioned for their players transfers. Anyway, the purpose of FFP is to stop clubs from losing money, not to stop them from signing good players. We are still in keeping with the spirit of the law as we are not losing money. We are working off debt built up by previous owners and are building a sustainable infrastructure. It's all good.

65,000 a week on pobregnyak from your billionare owner. How are watford doing any worse. That money hasn't been earnt in revenue by reading

23 Jul 2013 16:48:12
Charlie Austin will be staying at Burnley for his final year. QPR are set 2 sign Gary Hooper from Celtic instead of Austin and Burnley will have no funds to buy any players. Only free transfers will arrive!

Rubbish

Burnley should keep Charlie for this season. With what he is worth and the payments to Swindon if he is sold its just not worth it. I say keep him. Let he go on the free next year if he is still playing due to his knee

You will find that Austin is going to Nottingham Forest.

Apparently going to Forest

If he was going to Forest I doubt he would've played in the friendly vs Tranmere tonight which he has, looks like he's seeing out the remainder of his contract.

From todays Lancashire Telegraph "Burnley are determined to keep striker Charlie Austin and are even in talks with a new deal for the striker".

"Burnley are reluctant to let Austin leave especially to a fellow Championship Club".

If Forrest want Austin they will have to pay up and a lot more than the 2.5m toutued since his failed medical. 28 in 40 last year. he'll be scoring against Forrest this year.

If forest have 4.5 million then charlie is yours if not get over yourselves no chance he will leave for peanuts

Can't see Austin passing a medical at Forest they pulled out of the deal for George Boyd because of his eye sight. I rekon its all smoke and mirrors easy to look ambitious by talking up transfer deals. Looks like Forest are just making large bids on somebody they know they won't sign.

Hooper wants to play in the prem which means not us we should change our attention to Austin

I feel sorry that bruce used charlie austin to get somebody else, austin has never had a leg prob , sure his shoulder had a couple of probs, but austins legs have never ever stopped him from scoring, if dyche hadnt come in, and changed tactiics to a more defencive set up austin would have scored 40 goals last season, hull will be relegated, austin given the chance would have kept them up your loss your relegation, cheapskates

23 Jul 2013 16:45:48
Burnley will sign trialist Dave Jones on a free transfer on the 2nd of August after his Wigan contract expires!

Hope so wigans loss will be our gain, he needs a manager who believes in him, and a fair manager who ll give him a chance to play on a regular basis, so far most burnley fans are very happy with him, at this rate mcann won't be missed

Seen milk turn quicker than jones

I like Jones, surprised we let him go as I thought he could do a job in the Championship. Think he will be a good signing for you.

I hope mcann can rediscover the sort of form , and become the sort of player he once was before his terrible injuries, last season he was one of our worse players, if he's firing on all cylinders injury free, youve got a superb box to box midfielder with an eye for goal. before his injuries he was valued at 5 mill,

Weather or not he signs, as a burnley fan I beleive, were definitley gunna struggle this season. relegation is looking highly likely, there's not enough go in our team, this looks like it could be a sad time for us

Come on mate apart from grant we burnley have got rid of a lot of deadwoods, there's still more to go, stock, bartley, treachy, the players were bringing in are hungry, with things to proove, i'm quite confident we ll hold our own this coming season

McCann will struggle to break into Wigan's midfield it's the strongest part of the team

23 Jul 2013 16:44:00
Burnley will sign free agent Richie Wellens after he was released by Leicester today! Burnley have released Dane Richards to free up the wage bill to fund the Wellens move!

Hes going doncaster

Gone doncaster

Signed for Doncaster yesterday so he ain't going to Burnley

23 Jul 2013 18:31:27
Dane was signed when Howe was on charged, but wasn't good enough for Burnley that's why he was released not to free wages for wellens

23 Jul 2013 18:43:41
Like M'voto is going to Donny.

What's everyone's opinion on this player?

23 Jul 2013 16:39:45
Heard that baggies will counter a £3million bid from west ham for Dorrans and ask for Mohamed Diame in a swap deal. involving wba paying £2million as well

Yeah right!

Diane is definitely not leaving and allardyce said that he is not interested in dorrans

West brom have nearly signed scott sinclair as he turns down newcastsle. biram diouf is staying at hannover and kalou staying at lille. john guidetti is at wba for talks

John guidetti is on tour with city so that's doubtful

23 Jul 2013 16:30:21
sagbo expected to sign for hull in the next 48 hours
he'll fit into our team very well. I thought last season we needed a player who would run off the last man and this is a player who would do that. also thought we needed a big striker who could put the ball in the net with head or feet but nicky pros wasnt doing a great job up there. danny graham has been brought in on loan and hopefully will do a good job. good signings bruce

23 Jul 2013 16:28:12
It seems west ham are making another move for Salomon Kalou. They are also interested in Matej Vydra and Discussions have commenced over possible loan move. I would be very happy if they got both

23 Jul 2013 15:57:34
Reading are looking at Udinese striker Odion Ighalo, should Pavel Pogrebnyak depart. The Nigerian does not feature in Udinese's plans having been on loan at Granada last season.

23 Jul 2013 18:35:30
Already signed for Watford just awaiting the FL to authorise the move.

Would be interesting to see if the Pozzo's would permit one of their players to go to one of Watford's rivals for promotion. I doubt it.

23 Jul 2013 18:56:48
No Udinese or Granada players will go to any championship club except Watford, end of story

'23 Jul 2013 18:35:30
Already signed for Watford just awaiting the FL to authorise the move. '

Got a link to prove that?

24 Jul 2013 11:08:16
^^^^ Watford Observer ran the story last week

I wonder if it'd be possible, using the Pozzo strategy, to transfer all of the pathetic Watford fans to Grenada and just keep the reasonable, non-delusional ones who actually value the game rather than playing 'my clubs bigger than your club' with other team's pathetic fans. Worth pondering I think.

Alright cheers, wasn't sure where it had come from. He sounds like a good signing for Watford, got to say.

23 Jul 2013 16:00:30
Barnsley sign 6'4'' defender Jean-Yves Mvoto on a 2 yr deal. Also Aaron Mclean as been training with the reds for last 2 days n Barnsley are hoping to sign him in the next 24hrs as well as Spanish trialist Cristian Lopez

23 Jul 2013 17:42:58
Doncaster have a 6ft 7in defender - Rob Jones. Trump that!!

I bet it would be a rather loud trump if that's the size of him. jimlcfc

Is that the old man that carnt run,

But Rob Jones is terrible.

24 Jul 2013 00:36:01
He is great in the air not much gets past him, but can't pass and is a bit clumsy in the box should be ok good choice not going to doncaster dicov is a joke!

23 Jul 2013 16:11:49
Michael Chopra as been in talks with Barnsley today at Oakwell, The striker met Barnsley chairman yesterday away from the club for preliminary talks, It is very unlikely the reds will sign both players due to financial implications, But it looks like Mclean is the striker that the reds will sign in next 24hrs leaving Sheff Wed in poll position to sign Chopra.

Your talking as if Barnsley have first choice on either players. If Wednesday offer em both a deal (unlikely) they would both sign for the massive. In my opinion Barnsley will get the one we don't want

Barnsley have pretty much sorted their strike force now so unlikely we will bother with either, Chopra would be a massive liability for anyone who signs him IMO.

23 Jul 2013 15:42:26
Marlon Pack of Cheltenham town is in advanced talks with northampton town after he rejected a new contract offer from cheltenham and has turned down the chance to play in the championship claiming that the step up is "too soon" in his career

23 Jul 2013 17:02:54
dont know much about pack, but I don't think any player in their right mind would turn down a chance at playing in a higher league

Thata about as likely as the rumour Robbie Fowler was signing for Northampton!

Would absolutely love this but it won't be happening!

23 Jul 2013 20:47:34
Wishful thinking

No disrespect but Pack is too good for Northampton. You could say that this is Cobblers!!

AA This is hilarious.
Who comes up with these?

You're talent is clearly in writing rubbish, maybe you should think about a career with the Daily Mail or in politics.

If Pack stays in League2, it will be with Cheltenham, however he is close to a move to Bristol City or Swindon.

24 Jul 2013 09:47:07
LMAO absolutely no chance, why would he leave Cheltenham to go to Northampton when the only reason he wants to leave is to player higher. Northampton could not pay hte fee anyway.

Marlon training with bristol city Thursday

23 Jul 2013 15:25:14
Derby are interested in Birmingham winger Chris Burke and Norwich defender Leon Barnett, but may wait until January in order to get them both at better prices.

If you wait for Barnet then he'll be gone.

Barnett will go before August 31st

So are a lot of other people

Be interesting to see how we are going to afford these players.

23 Jul 2013 15:15:25
Anyone have any news on Gillingham?

Harry grant to sign perm deal, Alan gow and tommy forecast to join.

Tommy forecast played for l orient on 22nd

Lets hope he is off to Orient, be better bringing back Cronin then resigning Forecast

23 Jul 2013 15:12:22
west brom are in advanced talks with ex manchester united striker mama birame diouf

23 Jul 2013 15:03:22
As I attempted to post the first time around Yoric Ravet on trial with Huddersfield Town

Alas poor Yoric, I knew him well!

Starting tonight v Dulwich & Hamlet.

Watched him tonight. Not great I am afraid.

Appropriate he played at Dulwich & HAMLET

Peter Leven is is discussions with plymouth argyle once again as John Sheridan looks to build further competition in centre midfield. Already plymouth have hourihane, blizzard, young and gurrieri, with other youth midfielders aswell. Lee Cox is also a player sheridan wants, should he return from injury by october

Unlikely as Sheridan has openly stated he only now requires a LB for his complete squad!

Yes we need a LB but then we also need strength on the bench

Still very unlikely - JS also wants a smaller squad than last season

Our bench is fairly strong, steel frame I think

If JS is going to go for any midfielder, he'll go back for Cox. Tried and tested and recovering well from injury. JS still has loans to bring in and judging by the amount we had last season, I think it's fair to say he'll bring them in throughout the season as and when needed. Ie- players not performing, injuries etc. very strong method, aswell might I add, one thing I will say is its a joy to have someone back that knows the lower league divisions. First decent manager since luggy, Peter Reid didn't have a clue in the lower league and Fletcher just didn't have a clue altogether.

I have a slight suspicion that our new Left-Back or any other permenant signings will come from a Trialist Match in Liskeard tomorrow.
Luggy has organised a match for trialists including 4 released from Tottenham.
If you think this is a stupid idea I'd like to remind you that the last time Luggy organised one of these matches we signed Kari Arnason!

Well said that man ^ who ever you are haha

Well said that man ^ who ever you are haha

A Blackman joins Argyle as LB

Your suspicions are wrong, we are set to announce the signing of left back Andre Blackman, just released from Celtic.

Kari Arnason was good was he? Must've been someone else I seen play shocking most weeks then! No surprise that as soon as we went down from the championship he had to go scotland then to league two. Top notch aye?

Thanks man!
Arnason was without a club, he signed for us and was one of our better performers in League 1 imo. I remember how gutted everyone was when he left. Yes he went back down to League 2 but he was playing for a better club than us and Rotherham are now in League 1.
Fact is that these trialist matches could well offer us a wee gem and something we don't already have

Arnason was a fantastic player for us and you must have had one or two too many ciders!

23 Jul 2013 14:32:36
Liam Fontaine will not be joining Blackpool after the Bristol City defender failed a medical. Blackpool have instead approached chelsea for Andreas Christensen on loan. Albert Adomah could be set to join Genoa

24 Jul 2013 12:26:11
Aa has been told he's staying if Wigan don't up there bid and no Liam was not at black pool

23 Jul 2013 14:45:57
Scott Mcdonald confirmed 2 year deal at Millwall. Steve Lomas says he hasn't finished yet and could have more coming in soon. Gary Dicker also now training with the club.

23 Jul 2013 15:18:47
Impressive signings so far by Millwall - as a neutral I expect them to finish above Watford, QPR and Charlton this season.

I'm a boro fan and millwall have a good striker if they play him in correct position he won't get 20+ goals but capable of getting 10-15 goals. good luck scotty

Well done JB, SL, & AA for making this 'VERY GOOD' signing 'POSSIBLE'
COYL Play offs?

Dicker is rubbish you wouldn't want him. Brighton fan

If Dicker is 'RUBBISH' as a Brighton fan seems to think then I'm sure that SL will say no thanks mate! But that's only one fans opinion?

JUST GREAT! Well done everyone at the club!

Yes everything is 'GREAT' but i'm not exactly sure 'WHY' you keep writing with capitals like 'THIS' as it's absolutely. umm. 'RIDICULOUS'

I have to agree, seeing people keep 'WRITING LIKE THIS' is somewhat annoying and there is no reason for it.

'THE' 'NEXT' 'PERSON' 'THAT' 'DOES' 'THIS' 'WILL' 'BE' 'NAUGHTY'

23 Jul 2013 14:02:19
Wolves and Bristol City interested in Walsall's James Baxendale.

Baxendale will not leave aswell surely?

He's under contract, so there would be a fee, so all very unlikely

Baxendale to sign new 2 year contract

Brilliant player to have in any club works 110% #UTS

25 Jul 2013 19:11:48
Brace dale has just been given a big role to play next season and a new contract will be offered in January even though he would still have a year remaining

23 Jul 2013 13:55:27
Peterborough intrested in Millwall striker Dany n'Guessen.

He could be used as a make way in th Tommy Rowe deal!

He will be a good replacement for Dwight gayle

Denied by posh chairman

Oh please, you can have him for free. I will even chuck a free Blender into the deal!

He would be good for you in league one, Played well for Charlton when we loaned him out got promotion with them scored a few, put in a bid anything sensible and he's yours.

23 Jul 2013 13:33:43
has poke left torquay united as he's been seen in Newport around the ground

He is injured and still first choice at Torquay

Nope. can't see this happening.

What a load of tosh, he is and still will be a torquay player this coming season.

23 Jul 2013 21:57:59
Can't comment on Poke but Newport's No. 1 Pidgely is out with a virus picked up whilst on holiday.

How did he get injured I also saw him around Newport ground the other day

I would not know what your goalkeeper looked like if he walked around Torquay. So how you could pick Poke out would be incredibly impressive! With him being injured, I doubt it.

He was walking round with a seagull onhis head

27 Jul 2013 18:03:58
Newport have signed James Bittner for a month, to cover the gk spot, so no need for Poke, whoever he is.

23 Jul 2013 13:12:04
burton to sign goalkeeper chris dunn and a unamed winger this week

He is only on trial!

Need to see more of Chris Dunn to form any opinion. A really good winger would be a bonus. These are in very short supply.

Can't see why Burton would want to sign Dunn.

Did alright when he came on against derby. and saved a penalty. could be worth a punt.

Having seen Dunn tonight I hope we don't sign him!

Dunn could be worth a punt, yes I agree, 1 old Irish punt is about his value! Nowhere near good enough for Burton.

23 Jul 2013 12:47:02
Asier Del Horno in talks with Brighton over replacing Wayne Bridge as their starting Left back. Will be announced later this week.

He has retired due to injury

He was voted one of the five worst players ever bought by Chelsea

He's retired

Chicksen is cover for bridge {Ed029's Note - Cover for Bridge who signed for Reading?

He wasn't voted one of the worst players for Chelsea. He was voted one of the 5 worst buys for mourinho due to costing 8m and playing 20 odd games. Regardless its a made up rumour.

I think they mean replacement

23 Jul 2013 12:41:40
Arsenal are interested in CSKA striker Seydou Doumbia. Could be available for £15m

23 Jul 2013 12:29:31
fulham set to sign Walter Gargano and are in talks to sign Clement Chantome from PSG they have also been linked to James Mcarthy and Tom Huddlestone and these four players are the players Fulham need to bolster there midfield but they will sign two middle of midfeild players as this is the main part they need to strengthen along with another wide man and a number 10 plus Bent has said he won't be at Villa for long with FFC and NUFC interested but Fulham in pole position for his signature.

Garango signed for napoli 4 weeks ago so I doubt he will leave

Not set to sign Gargano.

A few unreliable italian sources created the rumour.

Nothing concrete about him or Chantome. We won't get McCarthy he'd be too expensive.

As for Huddlestone its a story that has dragged on for so long.

Didn't Gargano sign for Napoli in 2007?

23 Jul 2013 19:55:48
dont think he has signed for Napoli four weeks ago. i'm just saying the players we have been linked with that could strengthen our squad and these players will

http://tinyurl.com/n48oabx

Gargano has been at Napoli for a matter of years rather than months, spent last season at Inter & IS in talks with Fulham

If Fulham sign Bent I'll run naked round Villa Park. No one is going to sign Bent, not Fulham not Newcastle and no one else either. Mark my words.
He'll STILL be here when the season starts and so will all the other dross we have been trying to shift for ever and a day. We can't even get rid of Hutton on a permanent basis, he's only gone to Spain on loan-AGAIN.
Clarrie Blue.

Clarrie Blue does that promise stand if he leaves for any club?

Napoli rejected the chance to speak to Fulham.

Gargano isn't leaving this summer

23 Jul 2013 12:52:23
QPR are close to signing Charlie Austin from Burnley for 4M with the Clarets using to Money to sign Sako from Wolves for 1. 75M

Sako has got better teams after him and we want £3m

Sako won't be signing for Burnley especially for £1. 75 million, he will end up going to a bigger club.

23 Jul 2013 15:14:58
Burnley were good enough to stay up last season unlike Wolves.

23 Jul 2013 16:19:40
Doubt that.

Fulham won't even pay the asking price of £4m.

So you getting him for 1. 75m is a lie.

QPR maybe a rich club but £4 million for a striker that could break at any time.
Dream on. Harry had no interest a couple of weeks ago, then Austin fails the medical. QPR then offer silly money for a player who got rejected by Hull.
Yes it all makes sense. NOT!

23 Jul 2013 17:43:30
Austin isn't going Qpr he wants to play in the prem so why would he go to another championship club? {Ed029's Note - ££££££

Come on its quite simple no premier league club are going to take the chance on him after him failing the Hull medical. Enter megabucks Qpr who under Redknapp would be a very attractive proposition to Austin given the circumstances.

23 Jul 2013 11:52:57
Joe dunne said he hasn't ruled out a move for former colchester defender George Elokabi but Plymouth, Afc Wimbeldon and Notts co are all after him

Would love to see Big George in the Blue & White. too expensive me thinks. Can't dee him dropping to league 2

Anymore rumours for the green army (Argyle)?

Really? I think this move is a long way off. A shame, but highly unlikely.

This may be a reasonable transfer with a good chance OF it happening. George has a long history associated with united and a lot of the fans loved him, would love to see him back in blue and white - WE ARE UNITED.

23 Jul 2013 11:50:19
Huddersfield manager mark robins is looking at bringing highly rated Manchester United midfielder Jesse lingard on a 6 month loan deal. Nick Powell is also on robins radar.

I wish Mr Hoyle would hurray up and sign our next player, this wait is starting to get really frustrating now!

Lingard in the Far East with the first team so can't see him being loaned out in this window. Maybe after the league cup rounds when man united are knocked out but that's likely to be January. Powell? Yes please.

These two would be brill signings from what I have seen of them, talented and hungry to prove themselves.

Send him along with his mates Adnan & Nick

23 Jul 2013 11:31:44
Portsmouth are in talks with another 2 ex Swindon players. Thomas Miller and Jon-Paul Mcgovern.

Not likely both are at the end of their careers, we are looking for players for the future now

23 Jul 2013 21:53:36
Danny Murphy the new mid field man for pompey.

Danny Murphy. Yeah right

Pompey will be signing an ex-Swindon player but it is neither one of the two mentioned!

24 Jul 2013 12:33:40
swindon manager! it now comes down to Les Ferniand or Tim sherwood? althou Sherwood would take some getting beacuse he is under contract at spurs I hope its one of them beacue the link between Lee Power of swindon he is Tim Sherwoods
AGENT. that's how they have signed six spurs players. Simon chrurch could sign too if they offload
the like of Coillins, Caddis, Benson, Navarrvo,

Tim Sherwood and Lee Power are bes friends. One was best man at the others wedding, they were players together earlier in their careers.

23 Jul 2013 11:29:28
Portsmouth are set to re-sign Sam Sodje as Rocha didn't meet his signing deadline.

Exciting times indeed.

Sodje would only be a back up to Devera and Bradley

Rocha will be signing up soon.

23 Jul 2013 10:39:40
Birmingham to sign Shane ferguson on loan again by the end of the week.

Hope this is true we need to improve our squad

23 Jul 2013 10:31:53
Bradford City are interested in Greg Draper who is currently at The New Saints.

Would be a good young apprentice to James Hanson without costing an arm and a leg. Bringing in another tall striker would be a good move in my opinion with our squad full of good set piece specialists. (Bradford fan)

23 Jul 2013 11:04:44
Plymouth Argyle are to announce the signing of George Elekobi this week as the replacement for the already departed onismor bhasera

23 Jul 2013 10:13:15
Crystal Palace will complete the signing of WBA forward Peter Odemwingie this week for £1.5 million

£2 million at least, see Jeremy Peace.

Not going to happen

Hes been offered captaincy and favouring a move to a team in dubai. not happening

I'd be amazed if Odemwingie went for 1.5 million. The club could have sold him for more than that to QPR and chose not to.

Well the club is being really silly. He's on £38k per week (nearly £2M annually!) and he is 32 years old. I think he will run down his contract!

Do not want this loss cannon just a waste of space

No chance the fee will be less than 1 million

24 Jul 2013 09:16:20
this won't pay for the car parking fee, s that he, s racked up camping down london waiting for some southy club to offer him asylum.

No, the fee won't be less than 1 million. As for Odemwingie running down his contract, if the fee does not match the clubs valuation then he will be sit in the reserves for the next year even though it costs the club dearly salary wise. Anyone who thinks otherwise does not know Jeremy Peace. Three seasons ago, we started the season with no shirt sponsor. There were many offers, but none were acceptable to the club, so we did nothing. If money were the driving force, Odemwingie would have gone to QPR in January. Peace is a hard nosed businessman and nobody messes with him!

What you've said above is not being a hard nosed businessman. It's pure ignorance and spite, as it does not make commercial sense to hold out for £2m on a 32 year old player who's wages is £2m and then not play him for a season then he goes on a free!

WBA have option of a small fee probably much less than 1 million or pay his wages of 2million and then lose him for nothing. If Peace is a businessman he will get what he can and save the money

Really good to see Palace are not throwing money at players for the sake of it! yes we may only have one season in prem however we will be a much stronger club. I believe we will stay up with hungry and experienced players. 4th from bottom will be a fab achievement!1

26 Jul 2013 09:28:26
I don't blame palace for pulling out of the Carlton cole deal, footballers are going to get a big shock when the football bubble burst and sky tv move elsewhere. the only real winner is the inland revenue. The palace board are doing a great job

23 Jul 2013 10:01:40
Watford still hope to complete the signings of Udinese trio Gabriel Torje, Matej Vydra and Odion Ighalo on loan before the start of the season.

23 Jul 2013 12:51:15
Have Udinese any players left for themselves after giving them all away to Watford? Why can't these Udinese players get fixed up with other Italian teams - better than Watford.

Zola has been quoted as saying that we are keeping most of our loan allocation for domestic loans. Ighalo would likely be signed permanently and Vydra may be a loan depending on whether any other club wants to buy him. Not heard anything about Gabriel Torje before.

I doubt Watford will sign any more fowards, so Vydra and Ighalo probably aren't targets. In fact Ighalo has been quoted he'd like to stay in Spain (he's been with Granada). Torje is keen to fight for a place at Udine but make more sense in terms of squad balance. Would be pleased to see any of the above sign, even Vydra.

Oh, and for the 'will Udinese have any players left' guy, the Pozzos own the rights to approx 300 player around the world. There's no shortage of quality for any of the three sister clubs.

Ighalo is already done mate. Signing not loanee.

23 Jul 2013 14:27:11
^^^ They probably could join better cubs in Italy but our owners recognise the fact there's more money in The EPL then in Serie A or La Liga (Granada) and so will put everything behind WFC to get promoted

Udinese have an abundance of first team players whose talents far exceed those which have been transferred to Watford. The Pozzo's would not weaken Udinese to strengthen Watford. The reason these players aren't sent out to other Italian sides is because Watford are also owned by the Pozzo family and so they want Watford to get promoted to the Prem. Simple. Also, they don't want to strengthen other sides in their division by giving good players away. That would just be stupid.

What the first comment has proved: Watford fans don't understand banter or sarcasm.

We do understand banter and sarcasm, it's just boring now though, like to Hogg loan thing - Yawn

23 Jul 2013 09:46:47
Liverpool are on the verge if singing Brazilian Winger Bernard for 21mil. It looked like he was going to Arsenal but he prefers a move to The Reds

23 Jul 2013 09:42:29
Leeds United boss Brian McDermott is ready to raid former club Reading for 31-year-old defender Kaspars Gorkss and will offer £450,000.

They may get him but will not pay £450k. A freebie I bet.

Good championship player but lacks pace seems to have forgotten how to defend Good luck. He's yours

Dont see how he could be free. we would only have 3 CD's if he goes so he would have to command a fee

If leeds get him he will have to be free as we have no money to pay for him.

Why would he be a freebie when reading chose not to release him?

Raid is to strong a word. I woud personally deliver Kaspars to Leeds. Great player three seasons ago but not now. Good luck to hi, Noel and Brian. All did well for us. URZ!

Brian McDermott already said this week that Leeds cannot buy anybody until someone goes out

He has only been at Reading for 2 years, not 3, and was outstanding in our promotion season. That was only a bit over a year ago, sure he can make a real contribution somewhere, even if not at Reading.

23 Jul 2013 09:39:14
Former Bristol Rovers manager and current Norwich coach Paul Trollope has held talks with the Swindon Town board regarding the vacant manager post.

Really, I think he's with squad in America

Nobody heard of Skype/Video Conferencing/Conference Calls/e-mails - even the good old telephone. The world is now a very small place, chaps. people can holds talks with each other from any number of places across the world.

He wasnt includee in their team photo which gives a strong indication he's on the mve he also hasn't featured in the last 3 big games.

Its alraedy been offered to Glen Roeder

Firstly, we haven't had a team photo yet, so that explains why he wasn't in it.

Secondly, we've only played 2 friendlies so I don't know how he managed to miss the last 3 "big" games, not to mention the "big" games don't happen until we get back from the West Coast of The States.

Try again fella.

A good man, was let down by players' attitude here at the Gas, wish him the best in his career.

Tim sherwood is coming.

Possibility of Tim Sherwood on loan from Spurs for the season, got to be a first!

Trollope doesn't want to be a manager. He is more than happy as asst. manager at Norwich.

23 Jul 2013 09:36:39
Bradford City are in talks with Abdisalam Ibrahim.

Good pedigree and won't get a chance at Man City, hopefully get a good deal or good terms on a long loan deal. Not sure were he fits in with Bradford's squad though, already got a strong midfield with plenty of competition

23 Jul 2013 16:20:26
No truth in this either.

He's off to Norway

23 Jul 2013 09:33:11
Adomah to sign for Leeds by the end of the week

23 Jul 2013 14:22:46
Hope so he is a quality winger

24 Jul 2013 02:57:06
He's at middlesbroughs training ground discussing a deal. He'll sign for boro over Leeds scum!

Another deluded boro fan have you even signed anyone yet?

23 Jul 2013 09:28:17
Bristol city have offered contracts to Marlon Harewood and Elliott Parish, both expected to sign before opening day of the season. Source: Alistur Durden twitter. (Who works with bcfc club)

Also SOD has said that he is fustrated at Wigan for not bidding for AA. Source: ssn

Wigan have made a bid with add ons up to 1m. According to Doyle Bristol keep changing the deal so they may pull out.

Bristol City are not changing the deal the price has not been met yet by penny pinching Wigan. AA would be more than happy to stay at BCFC as its a club he loves so if the offer is not matched he will be staying at BS3

Wrong, deal offered by Wigan was 850k up front rising to 1 million with add-ons but now Bristol City want full fee up front which is fair enough!

Wigan are looking at other options & Adomah wants to stay at Bristol & play in League 1 so much he handed in a transfer request!

Wigan don't need him anyway which is probably why they refuse to pay more than what they've already offered.

If Wigan don't need him why bugger the other clubs and the player about if that is truely the case then I really hope that Wigan do a Wolves and end up in the bottom division

He handed in a transfer request so clearly doesn't want to stay lol

Wigan aren't "buggering about" they just aren't prepared to go any higher, end of story.

Dont worry my friend, Wigan look in good shape and don't need uncle Albert.

And you certainly don't need to worry about them doing a Wolves"

Its fair that the clubs just shake hands and walk away.

City say he is worth a million, Wigan say £800k, unless someone flexes then there is no deal.

23 Jul 2013 09:13:11
Leicester are set to test Wolves' resolve with a knock-down £1.5m bid for Bakary Sako. It is thought the deal will be accepted so that Wolves can target other players.

This is UTTER rubbish.

The reason he hasn't left yet is because we aren't prepared to sell him to Fulham for 3.5 million but yet we'll now let him go for 1.5 million??!

Please shush.

I can't see that happening tbh. He wants to play in the premier league

Why would we accept this when Fulham were offering 2.5m?

23 Jul 2013 08:52:14
Peterborough have had a £500k bid accepted for Watford striker Britt Assombalonga.

I do not think so.

No they haven't. Britt will only move on loan. The Pozzos tied him (and our other up and coming talent such as Bernard Mensah, Sean Murray etc) to long term deals last year. We aren't looking to sell.

No. Why would Watford let him go for 500k after he had a good preseason and a good last season and is only 20?

I laughed so hard I've had to change my trousers.

No they haven't.

Not true, he's on a 5 year deal so it will take a lot more than that to get him and he's seen as a big part of Watford's future.

I very much doubt that.

£500k loan fee maybe!

What was the bid for - a month's loan?

Haha no chance, possibly on loan though.

23 Jul 2013 14:28:58
Another rumour from The Beano again, Britt won't be going anywhere except out on loan. Maybe he'll go on loan to Villa with Hogg!

Haha lol would easily go for 1 million and we have no reason to sell

£5m for Hogg, £10m for Deeney - £500k for Assombalonga?

He's a promising little player, but I don't think he's quite worth that much. Not yet.

23 Jul 2013 18:28:24
If Gayle is worth £4m then Assombalonga is too

Gayle is not worth £4m, that's why he went for £6m. The value agreed by both clubs plus a poss £2.5m in extras that will probably never be fulfiled.

23 Jul 2013 22:59:32
Could be a £500,000 full season loan fee. Can't see it being permanent, he's well thought of.

He hasn't scored a goal in any level higher than League 2. Forgive me for not expecting £1m! An impressive record at Wealdstone means nothing and tbh, £500k is more than reasonable.

Vydra, at the same age, is what i'd call well thought of!

End of the day, we all know that Assombalonga is a young talent with lots of potential. Are Watford going to let him go for £500k now, when we know that in a season or two he could be a very important player for us worth a lot more?

500k plus 500k in addons would be a good deal from a posh fan

Under the previous Watford owner this could well have happened.

Thank goodness The Pozzo family came along and rescued us from certain oblivion.

23 Jul 2013 08:07:16
One of the three incoming players to Middlesbrough this week is free transfer Lucas Barrios

If we get The Panther on a free transfer I will walk naked down Oxford street in London!

He's 28. Doubtful :/

23 Jul 2013 12:17:44
The three players that are set to come in are Vitor, Eduardo Vargas and Borja Gonzales which the club hopes will strengthen their attacking resources for next season.

As reported in the northern echo.

Is this the same Lucas Barrios that was one of the highest paid players in China and has been linked with Champions league teams?

Barrios is an excellent player and would gladly take him. He got 1 in 2 for Dortmund and is a good poucher/finisher, which is exactly what we need. however, don't know if our poor manager can attract these types of players.

Barrios will go back to the bundesliga, why would a player of his quality want to play in the Championship. Better than a lot of strikers in the Prem!

A good poucher, what is he a kangaroo! LOL

Boro have signed victor Silva

Do you mean Vitor Silva?

Well this seems likely, a lad who kept Lewandowski out the dortmund side for years. coming to boro. sighhhhhh if this happens, ill expose myself in Binns window ;)

Didn't you do that once before Bernie!

Barrios is unlikely to want to join however he has been teammates with Yakubu Aiyegbeni, a former Boro player for the last year so maybe the Yak talked him into it

23 Jul 2013 08:06:22
Scott McDonald's move to Millwall could collapse as Leicester are ready to make a late move for the striker.

He has just signed for millwall. unlucky Leicester. you pipped us to wood but not this time

I think Leicester have enough strikers. this is a wind up! {Ed029's Note - Going to Boro..

23 Jul 2013 11:45:15
Don't think so - Millwall are paying out big wages this season - Chaplow, Bailey, Morison - while Leicester are being forced to cut their wages. The Lions big-spenders now compared with poor Foxes.

Already signed for millwall

Already done

23 Jul 2013 12:34:30
leicester don't need him, they have better strikers already

Your jumping the gun he has not signed yet but I hope he does

He has offically signed source millwall offical website what signings lomas is making top half finish at 9/2 is worth a punt

He has signed officially now

Aint it funny how leiscter city have no money now and they tryed high jacking another deal from millwall not this time lads haha

You are welcome to him, thinks he's better than every other player, and moans all game. frustrating player.

As a Middlesbrough fan, this is not true. Scott McDonald is a brilliant player and level headed. If we had of started him more, we may have kept him. I think millwall are currently one of the strongest squads In the division if they gel and the manager uses them correctly.

23 Jul 2013 07:47:39
Bocar Djumo has arrived on the Wirral! :-) (Tranmere Rovers)

If you believe that you will believe that WIlliam & Kate have called the baby Elvis.

We'll see ;-)

Must be true Elvis was or is The King to some people.

Today's local media suggests a deal may still be possible. But the same local media also states the player is currently thought to be in Portugal.

23 Jul 2013 07:22:22
Peterborough United will this week sign former Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake.

Wages will be far too much for us, he's too old for us, and he'll want to stay in the championship

No they won't

No, not only would we not want him, he won't want to come to us.

preston have jonathan aspas on trial he was on trial at tranmere but by all accounts they could not afford to sign him also preston will also take a look at 3 trialist this week

We did not sign him because he was not good enough, not because of his wages

Reports coming in he is carrying some kind of injury.

Tranmere turned down Aspas as he's 31 year old and not close to League 1 standard.

He's only over here to stay with his brother who is at Liverpool

Tranmere didn't sign him because he was awful. Think he is 30 ish and really didn't offer a great deal.

Aspas was dreadful at tranmere, wasn't offered a contract so don't know why you say we couldn't afford him because we didn't want him

Aspas played once for Tranmere, in a 9-0 win over a bunch of non-leaguers, and you know everything about him?

Suddenly Tranmere fans think they know more than the managers of the several clubs he's played for?

Preston must have heard he had something to do with Tranmere so thought they'd go in for him!

he wasn't good enough according to manager Ronnie Moore

Preston won't be signing anyone else so people may as well stop making rumours up. We are not looking at 3 trialists and grayson has signed the players he wanted

"Suddenly Tranmere fans think they know more than the managers of the several clubs he's played for?"

No, we think we know exactly the same as his previous managers - that he's not very good, which is why his previous clubs have't retained him and why we didn't take a further look at him after he couldn't handle the pace of a gentle 9-0 run out against a non-league side.

John-joe to sign for bristol rovers a week tomorrow just a few things to sort out now and rovers need to agree a deal with colchester befor a deal can be completed.

Still has squad number 8 released yesterday on colchester home page?

He's singed for us today

Good luck JJ, you weren't treated fairly at Colchester. I can think of at least 3 central midfielders you were better than at the U's.

Big loss for us always gave his all and always good for the odd goal. good luck JJ
