Southampton:
Get it right!
Alan Pardew said several times last season and earlier this season that no stars from Saints are for sale but specifically added that only a top flight outfit could afford "Adam Lallana". Check this as it is on the So'ton Official Site.

Lots of interest for the 20 goal scoring midfielder but his price is close to 2m which will finance the deals to be announced this week at St Mary's after hitches on Friday.

Paul Wotton has signed for Portsmouth and will be Captain of the side as they rebuild.(2)(11)

Heard forest may sign Adam lalana in a swap deal involving nathan Tyson

If your stupid enough to think Southampton would swap Adam lallana for Tyson I'm supprised you could turn on your computer, Adam lallana is Southampton fans 2nd best player he is loved probally as much as rickie lambert and no saints fan would swap him for Tyson.

Would never happen never ever ever

Saints are expecting at least 3 signings a winger, a central midfielder and a striker. This is to push are current wingers for there places and back up for rickie lambert and the box to box midfielder and depth we so lack in the middle which on a side note is why the Paul wotton rumours are absolute ste as he is are only current cm back up, and he's probally the poorest player in the side so I would love to see him move on and us sign two midfielders but it won't happen at least not this season next season I'd put money on him leaving along with Anthony pulis

Saintsam, cheers(6)(10)

Ed, whats happening with Banega? He is better than any of the Mash replacements that are being touted at the moment and in my opinion better than Mash himself!

Are we in for him or not?

I know that we are in for a surprise move for Jimmy Bullard. watch this space! {editor's note – I don't think we are in for Banega at all, sorry mate.}

is that the same jimmy bullard that was surplus to requirements at fulham while managed by mr hodgson..yeah, your right. a huuuge surprise for roy probably too.(3)(8)

Rangers transfer news

with smith having a total of £9m to spend on players
about £100'000's worth of wages following exits of players
from the past year he wants to bring in atleast 2 midfielders
and 1 striker but this doesent mean he's only bringing in 3
he will sign some others on the cheap or free transfer

rumoured in

ST – WELCOME – ? – £1m
ST – MPHELA – ? – £1m
ST – JELAVIC – RAPID – £2.5m or £2m and velicka P/E
CB – KHUMALO – ? – £1m
CB – JOHNSON – PLYMOUTH – £500'000k

the midfielders smith is hoping to bring in 2 wingers 1 for each side as
he will put davis into central midfield for next season. not sure who he will
bring in though

my thoughts is that he will try for ones he tried to get before e.g

eagles – possible move
wilshere – loan only
holden – possible move or loan

VERY UNLIKEY THAT ANYMORE OF THE EXISTING RANGERS SQUAD WILL BE LEAVING UNLESS
ITS FOR BIG MONEY MOVES(10)(14)

Just heard from a mate that Karl Sheppard from Galway Utd will sign for Leeds next week. He is due to play against Man Utd as part of an airtricity league 11 on Wednesday night. Good striker who is rated as good as Kevin Doyle when he played with Cork City before joining Reading. He previously played for Everton reserves and memory tells me they paid 260k to Shelbourne with he was 16.(4)(11)

 01 Aug 2010 21:55:17

this move couldnt take place as he is injured for upto 8 weeks with a stress fracture of his tibia. he looks a good player however(2)(6)

Ma mate works at parkhead and has just seen madjid bougherra leaving celtic park

+++ if you´re gonna make up rumours, try and check your facts. bougherra is currently in mid air flying back from australia with the rest of the rangers squad.(3)(2)

 01 Aug 2010 22:18:49
This is so untrue

"To the person who said this
Ed, jst saw ross mckormack[spelling] & james mcfadden leaving parkhead glasgow.you know any news of that? {editor's note – I haven't heard anything about McFadden, but McCormack has been offered to just about every club in England and Scotland. Wasn't so long ago he was outstanding for Cardiff, if he can recapture that form, whoever gets him will have a gem on their hands. But if he plays like he did last season then he will be a dud.}
I doubt it james mcfadden has just played for bcfc against northampton K.O 2pm stop talkin rubbish"

Its a shame i can't upload images on here but my son had a photo with him down cardiff bay this afternoon. photo is dated and timed. He said he was happy to stay at cardiff and so was his very sexy wife who love said they love the area. i expect ross to feature a lot more this season and looked very fit and sharp playing 80 minutes in the pre season home match 31st july(3)(11)

With regards to Aguero joining Liverpool f.c. i would in one respect to tell Lfc fans to stop daydreaming and be realistic..it will not be happening! In the same vein however i would like to say lfc fans, be patient. After a takeover, and with decent financial capabilities it would/and will be a REAL possibility, with funds he could come, but that's a big if, and will remain so until next summer i think.
Onto current possibilities:
~Figueroa deal on the cards (5.5m)

~If kuyt goes(unlikely) expect Shaun–Wright Phillips on thr RW for 7–9m, Hodgson a fan.

~When, not if, Mascherano moves expect either Defour or Banega, though Hodgson would prefer Parker(West Ham not even looking at offers).

~Turan will be bought if funds permitt, if not expect him in Jan/next summer.

~Hodson wants Davide Santon to be included in the deal for Mascherano, without hugely affecting the cash sum(ideally 25m–30m + Santon)

~Striker will not be purchased until takeover complete(next summer), so expect Hodgson to intrust Ngog, Babel and Pacheco as cover

Insua deal is concluded – 4.5m – will leave by this friday

Hodgson looking for a left sided winger now that all his other work/transfers look to be taking shape

SWP will move to Liverpool as 1st choice if Liverpool want him

Liverpool scouts spotted in Marseille – any idea who they looking at – check the French reports

Christian Poulsen WILL join Liverpool for 6M allowing Mascherano to leave for 28M/20M+Muntari(15)(16)

 01 Aug 2010 20:48:18
Please anser this (ED) will manu buy big to replace Scholes, Giggs, G.neville {editor's note – they will buy one more big signing at least this summer, I believe. I don't understand the need to replace Neville when he has barely figured in years, and there are already a lot of players at United that can play right back.}(10)(5)

 01 Aug 2010 20:51:33
Plymouth to take alex nicholls from walsall in on trial(4)(5)

 01 Aug 2010 20:53:44
"Victor Valdes is rumoured to be heading for exit from Nou Camp as early as next summer transfer windows. It was highly believed that he will eventually replaced Edwin Van Der Sar who will retired from professional football while his place at FC Barcelona is taken by either Ruben Mino from B–Team or Manuel Neuer of Schalke 04"

He won't replace Van Der Sar. There's 0 chance of him leaving Barcelona. He's 1st choice, he's comfortable and he's at the best club in the world. Why would he want to replace VDS at United? {editor's note – do you not think Barca would want to replace him? After all he is a very average keeper.}(6)(9)

 01 Aug 2010 20:54:44
Hi Ed

LFC realsed Duran in the last couple of weeks. Shame, cos he'd fought back from a few injuries and looked decent on the ball for the ressies towards the end of last season, but was always suspicisiously taken off around the 1 hour mark, possibly couldn't do a full 90?

Pablo {editor's note – I looked it up and it was Palsson I was thinking of anyway. He just doesn't look in the slightest bit Icelandic that lad so I was never sure who he was.}(3)(4)

 01 Aug 2010 20:55:04
Hi ed im a birmingham city fan and ive just heard fom somebody that the rumours going around st andrews are 1) blues very interested in keane from spurs bid to be submitted soon to rival aston villa
2) ryan babel / liverpool ready to accept new improved offer from us thus him bieng ommitted from pre season game in germany have you heard anything or heard of any pending moves of players to birmingham {editor's note – I haven't heard of any others, nor the Babel rumour. I was told he was left out because he wasn't fit yet.}

babel was left out because hes only just back from holidays an hasnt had the time to get up to speed with the rest of the squad although he did come back 2 days early so clearly wants to make an impression on RH.(3)(10)

 01 Aug 2010 20:56:04
"Anderson, Hargreaves, Fabio, to all miss out (May be included after the squads are assessed in january)"

Though you placed U–21 players in the squad, if Anderson and Fabio are going to miss out, send them to Villa Park. Fabio miles ahead of Rafael in both defense and attack and Anderson is an amazing attacking midfielder and for some reason SAF hasn't figured that out and he's trying to make him a DM..(8)(5)

Chelsea transfer surprise!
Chelsea FC is interested to sign Alan Dzagoev from CSZKA Moscow. Dzagoev'll replace Deco. Dzagoev's agent is in London to talk with the Club about the signing fees. CFC tried to sign the russian whiz in 2008's summer, but they missed the transfer. Now Abramovic favourite fellow–countryman'll join the Blues soon.(12)(4)

Rangers now linked with michael chopra and closing in on david healy, , heard that blackpool want kyle lafferty, , i will drive him there myself, , please ollie sign him for all gers fans sake.

I think rangers should keep lafferty because at the end of the season he really came on to a game and looked decent, with the right coaching and if he got played up front he could be a decent player, chopra would be a fantastic signing.

Mesut Ozil's odds to join man utd have been slashed to 2/7 with skybet. That is a big difference and wouldn't be done unless there was something in it. Dont profess to know anything more but could be the new number 7.Totenham were also favourites to sign Cole??

Barcelona were favourites to have Fabergas next season??

Said ages ago Christian Poulsen will join Liverpool. and I will say it again "CHRISTIAN POULSEN TO LIVERPOOL" . imminent

Liver_bird"

Two things;
1 – His agent doesn't seem to agree if the quotes from Calcionews24.com are to be believed.
2 – If you said something "ages ago" was due to be imminent, surely if you were right it would have happened by now.

My posting on 30th July stated this deal was imminent, my previous post I did not state the deal was imminent.

This is just me writin as a die hard Arsenal fan after watching the Emirates Cup particulary the second half of the Celtic game, it is obvious that we are still vulnerable at the back. I think that Wenger will bring in 2 more defenders most likely one of Mexes, Mertersaker or Jagielka (my money is on Mertesacker) and one player who can cover two positions one being the centre back position. The most likely candidates are two City players in Kompany and Richards. On to the goalkeeper situation. I would love to see a new goalkeeper at the Emirates next year but I seriously think that Wenger will have Flapianski as his number 1 for next season.(11)(2)

Seen mr bates at todays open day at elland road and asked him the sitution with chopra he said he would cost 4 million so no chance that's the truth lufc lee

Maybe he should have another look at him as the price may have dropped considerably. But then again, Bates is more interested in spending on infrastructure than the team.(5)(17)

Jay Spearing to sign for Southampton within next 48 hours. 3 month loan.100%.
Adam Lallana to sign for Middlesborough – 750k.

750k would buy you his left foot (he's right footed as well)

Alan Pardew has stated several time Lallana is NOT FOR SALE. Southampton do not need to sell anyone. We are the fifth richest club in England meaning no players leave unless they want to Lallana is Southampton through and through and will sign a new deal in the next few months.

NO BIG NAME PLAYERS WILL LEAVE SOUTHAMPTON, WE HAVE NO NEED TO SELL.(7)(14)

 01 Aug 2010 19:36:35

Simon Cox has been training with Leeds United since Wednesday last week.
Simon Grayson is thinking whether to loan him, and if he does well, in January Leeds may think of buying him of West Brom's hands.

If Albion were prepared to loan Cox out I don't think SG would waste time thinking about it the deal would be done MOT(8)(10)

Celtic

McGeady refusing to move to Russia. Waiting for the Milner move to go through so Villa can buy him.

No other interest in him from the top end of EPL.

McGeady move to free up money for a badly needed Centre Back, eight goals lost in three games tells it's own story.

If McGeady goes they will attempt to sign Keane permanently. Likely to be unsuccessful as Keane has want to stay in the EPL.

Rumours of Brown leaving also if someone offers around £4m.

Rangers

Still waiting on Jelavic, deal 50/50 to go through. Rangers very keen as they know they will get a good return on him.

Welcome likely to sign if he shows up well. At £500,000 he should be a good addition.

The CB's linked recently will only be pursued if an offer comes in for Bougherra.

Eagles deal still dead, Rangers may go back if other targets fail.

Priority still two wide players and a goal scorer like Jelavic.

Spurs are very very close in loaning a major real madrid player on loan, we have no idea who it is at the moment, apparently only 6 people are in the know! harry, levy, the palyer and his agent, jose and his chairman, the player in question is believed to have signed last season? all we can gather is its a bloody big name player!!(9)(15)

Has anyone heard any rumours linking Emile Heskey to Bristol City. The story has it that he will follow David James to Ashton Gate this week.

Patently ridiculous. Why would Heskey go to Bristol City ? Has he got a house and family in the area and wants to be home for 5pm every night or summat ? Why the hell would he go there ?(5)(12)

"This article is a couple of months or so old and will likely do nothing other than whip a number of Liverpool supporters in to a frenzy. I think it should be ignored. I did read the article in the Sunday Times today and it seems that it is a rehash of an old story – but you never know. Mystery buyers from the Middle East eh? It will be more Americans again soon no doubt.

Sharkey."

As ever sharkey is right , I compared today's article with April's version and they are more or less the same, both articles start with "Mystery Syrian" where one would think, he is no longer mysterious considering we heard of him just a couple of months back.. This is absolutely shocking journalism.
I also think Sharkey might be right about new Americans owners, however I heard an Indian business man is also engaged in the bids process..

Glasgow rangers are preparing a bid for Plymouth Argyles talented african centre back Reda johnson, Johnson is as fast as they come, with a beautiful touch and pass, although his decision making is in need of tuition, but he is a real novice in the pro game, a gem to polish for sure. Plymouth will undoubtedly look for over 500k for Johnson, I think as high as 1.5 million. Possibly a swap deal as Rangers look to slash their wage bill. Argyle desperately need a creative midfielder, and a striker.(24)(49)

Ipswich have had john walters ask for a transfer and will be replaced by robert koren on a free and ipswich have had a bid for michael chopra accepted.

The bit about Chopra seems right given the perilous state of Cardiff. They need the money desparately. Koren is being touted around just about every championship club. I would say probably 2 or 3 are interested as he's about average for the championship, nothing more than that.(10)(22)

Should Hull be able to offload Jimmy Bullard from the wage bill either permanently or temporarily then they will offer to take Joe Hart on loan for 6–months. Joe has recently stated he doesn't want to be on the bench at City.

They may however face competition from several Premier League clubs. Blackpool (loan), Fulham, Arsenal and West Ham (loan and if they sell Rob Green)(10)(27)

Should Liverpool sell Mash, why would they buy in another holding midfielder(or any other midfielder for that matter) when we have Lucas, Gerrard and Aqualaini to fill the centre of the park? So far this transfer window the only signings have cost a total reported 3.7mill(ish), with Albert Riera being sold on for 4+ mill and Benayoun the same. With the insua deal falling through, Purslow stating at the start that there would be funds for transfers, and the sale of Mash–surely we have got enough money to make a bid for a awesome strike partner for nando i.e. Higuain or Aguero? Please b4 anyone moans at me for mentioning Aguero again i truely believe it is plausable as should you on the basis of what i have just wrote.

Man united will not make any new signings this summer, Fergie has been impressed with the youth on the trip USA. Is only concern is Midfield but he is willing to gamble for a year & hope the Glazers sell so he can rebuild next year. This is fact!

THIS IS NOT A FACT, UNITED DO NOT NEED TO REBUILD, WE NEED AN ATTACKING MIDFIELDER TO REPLACE SCHOLES AND A KEEPER TO REPLACE VAN DER SAR NEXT SEASON, WE WILL BY THE MIDFIELDER THIS SUMMER AND A NEW KEEPER EITHER IN JANUARY OR NEXT SUMMER, VAN DER SAR MAY BE ABLE TO PLAY ON!(27)(19)

His local club was Chester growing up. Aston Villa could be interested in bringing Owen to Villa Park this season although Ferguson is happy to hang on to the former Liverpool and Madrid striker.

.21 year old David Goodwillie will sign for Leeds on Tuesday, he will be undergoing his mediacl at Thorp Arch tomorrow. Dundee United have accepted a bid of £1.25 million rising to £2 million based upon appearances. Dundee United have grown tired of Rangers pursuit and now refuse to deal with them in respect of a potential transfe, hence their acceptance of the Leeds offer. Goodwillie travelled down last night to Leeds to discuss terms.

My source is connected to the scouting team at Leeds. He also informs me that Leeds have agreed a deal to sign Hayden Mullins from Portsmouth for £500k and this will go through by the middle of the week. Portsmouth initially wanted £1 million but are now prepared to accept the initial offer Leeds made in early July.

in reply to this didn't Hooper cost a £2.4m? a guy that scored 20 goals in the league leeds are in now?? my point is leeds wouldn't pay that money for a guy that will score so why in gods names would they sign a kid from Scotland for £1.25 that scored.. only nine goals?? and coxs hasnt been training with leeds from last week as they where in Norway were they not??(14)(25)

Liverpool will not sign another LB as aurelio has re–signed and insua's move to fiorentina has fallen through (unfortunatly) and mavinga has looked exeptional for the france kids at the champianships and he is seen as the future for that position. ashley young will not be moving to anfield neither will james milner FACT! neither of them worth 30 million.

liverpool will sign a striker/winger and a CM. hodgson is intrested in signing steven defour but is most likely to go for his liege team mate axel witsel. that deal will happen one mascerano has been sold (to the highest hidder as barca have joined the race since they look to have missed out on fabregas).

mesult ozil fancies a move to chelsea or man united.
madrid will not be able to offer him regular football as they have KAKA and van de vaart to play in between the midfield and the striker so expect him to be in the prem league this season.

With the appointment of Mark Hughes it is very much likely that Craig Bellamy will join him at fulham. Robbie Keane is a suprise target for Stoke.
Santa Cruz is also on Harry Redknapp's wishlist.
Micah Richards is another player on Harry's wishlist with a £7 million bid prepared.
Blackpool are thinking of a £2 million swoop for Michael Chopra.
Cristian Chivu is being tracked by Arsenal with a pricetag of ariund £8 million. Arsenal also have Gabriel Milito in their sight, but with the whole Fabregas thing its highly unlikely.
Real Madrid are favourites to sign Mesut Ozil, so Manchester United will make a move for Rafael Van Der Vaart.

Taken from sky bet

Man United 2/7 (fav)
Real Madrdi 7/2

Real Madrid are NOT favourites to sign Ozil.(42)(54)

I see your point ED ( guessing your one of the Aurelio haters)..but i'd like to point out that i'm sure Aurelio will be back–up and has valuble experience for the youth lads I'm almost certain Figeroa will replace Insua if and when he finally goes which means he will be the first choice.

I'm just a little annoyed at those who seem to be putting Aurelio down in terms of ability..I can certainly understand the whole injury situation! He's terrible for that!

My only concern would be that is this a desperate signing? maybe exposing the financial crisis at LFC? ..As far as i'm concerned LFC should have money to spend according to Broughton ( stating that player sales will be re–distributed to the current squad)

I presume that Insua going = Figeroa coming in.

But regarding Masherano' sale..I am unclear who we are targeting..any ideas ED? (concrete or realistic) {editor's note – I don't hate Aurelio, if he could stay fit he would be great, but he is made of tissue paper and will never stay fit. As for Mash's replacement, I think Sharkey has it right that Witsel is the man being lined up. }(23)(21)

2. I am sure by now everyone knows Jag will not happen as he is priced to high!

News regarding mesut ozil

I have been talking to someone who works at sky bet and he told me directly that they have sources within old trafford and he understand's that united are CONFIDENT of signing mesut ozil in the coming days.
They have slashed odds and man utd are hot favourites to win the race to sign the german international.

This is all i can bring you for now folk's but it look's as if united will get there man."

I'm sorry, i don't wish to sound dismissive, but i highly doubt anyone at SkyBet has inside info at OT. They are, without doubt, the worst bookmakers for fabricating stories to drum up publicity. Pick any top player's name, Google it and the first "odd on" story will cite SkyBet as a source. Bookies know nothing more than the man in the street, they simply change odds because of where the money is going. In terms of accuracy, they are up there with the Star and Ktalk.(12)(21)

Dont worry Saddler's fans, you will sign another midfielder this week. Hutch has contacted a few local clubs regarding loan deals and has contacted a couple of free agents regarding signing for the club.

And If/when Deeney leaves, Gamble will give Hutch 75% of the money made of the deal to bring in a new player. This will be 75% of the final deal, so if the deal is set to raise to £500,000, he will give Hutch £375,000 to spend even if the initial cost of the player is £350,000.(7)(16)

EDITOR – There are reports that Real Madrid may move for Ozil although its just speculation, can you tell me how Ozil would fit into the Real Madrid Midfield? With Ronaldo, Alonso, Kaka, Khedira, Pedro Leon, Gago, Di Maria, Canales, Van Der Vaart already there (i expect both Diarra's to leave, one will definitely) how could he possibly fit in? I see these spaces needing to be filled a bit more importantly!

Caslilas
?_Ramos_?_?
Khedira
Kaka Xabi
_Ronaldo _Di Maria
Higuain

Surely a player with any sense would choose United knowing you could fill the shoes of a legend like Scholes? What do you think Editor? {editor's note – there will be a few outs from there yet, not all of those players will be in Madrid come the end of the transfer window. I couldn't tell you which he will prefer to play for, personally I find Madrid distasteful and wouldn't want to be anywhere near them but Ozil may see things differently.}(22)(18)

 01 Aug 2010 16:46:04
Ozil has not committed his future to the club he has stated he is honest and if needed he will see out his contract but leave for a free, but also quoted it is up to bremen wheter they will sell him now if they need the "money" rather than loose him on a free.

Im a man utd fan and think he will go to man utd for one the bookies (especially sky bet are quite reliable), joe cole, mark hughes, david silva, balotelli etc. they obviously now some things that we don't and with odds slashed dramtically in a week from 8/1 to 2/7 obviously something has happened.

Expect united to sign him after they arrive back from the states and hopefully will play a part against chelsea.(31)(22)

 01 Aug 2010 16:46:43
I hear ozil is going to stay at bremen now then wants a move to Manchester United once his contract is up.

Also Arsene Wenger is having a close look at Phil Jagielka and might consider bidding for the CB, he is also reported that Harry Redknapp is also interested in the defender as well.

If Arsene Wenger fails in signing Mark Schwarzer/ Joe Hart he will try to sign Italian GK Marchetti from Cagliari(20)(27)

To all those confused on the Wilson – Home Grown saga:

The Home Grown rules defines a home grown player as one that "has been registered with any club affiliated to the FA or the Football Association of Wales for.. ..three entire seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday (or the end of the Season during which he turns 21).‬‪"

The key phrase being that in parentheses. Because he was signed this summer, Wilson would turn 21 DURING his 3 full season with Liverpool and therefore would be considered home grown. Had Liverpool waited until January or next summer he would not, however.

I hope that clears things up.

Karim Benzema sabe que éste puede ser su año en el Real Madrid: "Ya llevo un año aquí, mi español es mucho mejor y eso hace que me sienta más integrado aquí. Yo creo que este va a ser mi año con el Madrid". {editor's note – I have read the article in Marca you got this from. He is talking about how he is looking forward to showing what he can do for Madrid this season, and he is going to have a better season.}(14)(13)

He said that Hodgson is seriously considering selling Nando to city in return for Adebayor and Ireland and first dibs on De Jong if and When Masch does go. (What do you think?) As I love Nando and think he is world class, but i quite rate the other three players as well and think thy would be great for the pool. {editor's note – I would rather not have Adebayor, he is too inconsistent, there are times when he is an absolute donkey.}(12)(33)

There seems to be alot of armchair supporters around on this site ( No disrespect to the website– I LOVE IT!)

Fabio Aurelio is, when fit i admit, one of the best left backs in the Premier league! He has been fantastic for us when he has played..Stop your whining little children!

Ins:

Ever Banega
Hunterlaar (sp)
Figeroa (sp) – If Insua goes

Outs:

Masherano
Insua (although now in doubt)
Degan {editor's note – what has an armchair got to do with anything? The point is Aurelio is never fit, the first few games after injury he is useless, then he finally gets his game together and ends up stretchered off part way through the match. Doesn't matter how good he is when fit if he is never fit, plus he lacks pace.}(24)(17)

Real Madrid are favourites to sign Mesut Ozil, so Manchester United will make a move for Rafael Van Der Vaart.(15)(31)

Possible, but Ipswich remain favourites for him and have had more than that turned down. But Cardiff are now desparate so may take 1m cash pronto.

ARSENAL:

AW trying to take advantage of the Ecup to talk to Lyon about the availability of Lloris. AW does not want to spend more than £7 mill on a keeper but may find that he has to! Schwarzer staying at Fulham now Hughes is manager.

AW knows (as do all Arsenal fans) we can not chalenge for cups with the No. 1 & 2 we have at the mo.

2x CB will be brought in, Koscielny will partner Tom V as first choice, 1 true (cheap –£5 mill) CB and one of Richards, De Jong or Kompany from Man City, depends if one is not in the 25. All can play CB, RB & DM, Song can also play CB if needed!

IF Cesc goes (I think he will) the no big signing will be made but AW will look to sign Ireland £8 mill, Pienaar £6–8 mill, Arteta £12 mill (I would love this) or make a slick move for Landon Donovon for £8–10 million.

2 more signings if Cesc stays: GK, CB/DM & CB.

Also before kaka moved to real madrid he was consider coming to the premier league and he said the 2 clubs that he is interested in are man utd and arsenal!

Emiliano Insua's £5million move to Fiorentina has fallen through after failing to agree personal terms with the club. Maynor Figueroa had apparently agreed personal terms with Liverpool but Hodgson had been planning on using the money from the Insua deal to sign him hence his agent saying a deal was 90% complete and would go ahead soon, they were waiting for Insua to move but it now appears unlikley we will see Maynor Figueroa at Anfield this season as Liverpool do not need three left backs.(37)(17)

Fabio's signature provides Roy with more funds to supplement the attack and midfield. Roy has been impressed with Darby and Mavinga in the European u19's. It is thought that Mavinga will be the longterm LB therefore there is no need to spend on this position especially when other positions are lacking and Agger and Wilson can deputise.

It is common knowledge that defensive midfield is a priority with Roy using his connections to look at Witsel of Standard Liege. To spend 8million on Parker or Petrov is nonsensical given Roy's admission that he is looking for the future! Banega is a possibility but one thing holding this back is the commitments to Argentina in the middle of the season if he were to be selected and thus leaving us short.

The final position Roy is looking to spend the money which has saved by signing Fabio is Attack. Remy is back on the cards, as is Milos Krasic or maybe Rossi of Villareal. Rule out Gervinho because of African Cup of Nations commitments.

In conclusion, Roys favoured moves are Witsel and Krasic. Jova has tipped him of and would prove real gems!

Cardiff will have embargo lifted early this week and have players already lined up.no quick fire sales at cardiff.

This I can confirm. The first player to sign will be Lee Naylor. He starts training Monday and will sign later in the week once the embargo is lifted. Get more once I get the names of other players on the list. On other news I have heard that negotiations are ongoing with Tony Fernandez (him of Lotus F1 fame) Vincent Tan and TG, who by the way are all personal friends and live near each other on initially a large scale sponsorship to include Air Asia followed by a heavy investment and full partnership. Now that would be a dream team. Stay tuned for more news on this.(9)(20)

MANCHESTER UNITED TRANSFER NEWS 2010/2011:
– Manchester United to sign Mesut Ozil this week for a fee of around £14m.
– Manchester United will not move for Steven Defour this summer as Hodgson is not trying to sign him. So Sir Alex will wait 6 months to year to decide if he will sign Defour.
– Manchester United have dropped their interest in Karim Benzema. Sir Alex has been so impressed with Javier 'chicarito' Hernandez he does not feel he needs another striker. He has Rooney, Berbatov, Hernandez, Macheda and Owen.
– Manchester United will make a move for Real Madrid's French international Lassana Diarra. Expect a fee of around £18.5m to be agreed. Sir Alex is concerned about the fitness of Hargreaves so needs a defensive and dynamic midfielder to partner Fletcher.

Two questions to the editor. How do you feel about LFC re–signing Aurelio, and do you think Roy will buy another left back? {editor's note – disappointed, to be perfectly honest. To me it is a sign that Liverpool have been unable to get any of their first choice targets, it is a real let down. I hope Roy will still buy another left back, Fabio is only fit for 3 games a season!}

I don't think this is such a bad move. Aurelio MUST, on the law of averages, get more games without injury this season. But more importantly will allow us to blood young players such as Mavinga (great prospect) and Wilson (played LB for Rangers last season). I think there will only be one more signing and it will be marque signing. Alonso ?"

Since when did injuries work on a law of averages? You don't get allocated a certain amount of injuries at the start of your career which even out over the next ten years! If your legs are knackered, your legs are knackered and you will get more and more injured. I agree with the editor, a depressing re–signing. Even when fit Aurelio is defensively cowardly, I have rarely seen a left back more scared of a tackle.(33)(23)

Loves all this talk from every one saying there team will sign 8/9 players ha ha with new rules in place of homegrown players there won't be wholesale changes from any club other than city.

Manu Utd – Not much Happening at the moment but one of Ozil/Ireland or Defour to sign before close of transfer I think Fergie wouldn't like to see defour gor to liverpool so if they make an offer i suspect fergie will too and fergie done a lot of work on defour in th past they will be favourites for his signature.

Liverpool – lets face it they have made a little bit of money from the sale of players already and already had 15m kitty so any big name will depend on Mascherano sale but again Roy won't spend Big will try to buy low price solid players
Defour/Poulsen or Figuro from Wigan

Chelsea – There monitoring Torres but lets face he he will not sign for chelsea he will give it one more year at Liverpool i suspect they move for Ozil too.

Arsenal – don't expect many changes deluded Arsenal fans Wenger doesn't like to spend and already come out saying this weak fear us maybe a CB

Man city well I heard they are keen on stepping on Newcastles shoes they have heard Newcastle are keen on local hot shots Ant and Dec Man city set to be lining up a 50m Bid for the duo never seen them play or heard of them but seems like everyone else wants them so they do too.

Oh and Southampton to sign Chris Lines this week.

BIRMINGHAM are on the verge of stepping in to end George McCartney's Sunderland nightmare.

Blues chief Alex McLeish is considering a move for the out–of–favour left–back, who does not figure in Steve Bruce's future plans.

Birmingham were interested in Fulham's Paul Konchesky, but with Mark Hughes having just taken over at Craven Cottage it seems unlikely that anyone will be leaving in the near future, and McLeish has now switched his attention to McCartney.

Sources in the Midlands say the only thing holding Birmingham back from making a formal bid is a concern over the ankle injury McCartney suffered in Sunderland's friendly against Brighton in Portugal last week.

With that in mind, Birmingham are also understood to be exploring alternative options, with Aston Villa's Nicky Shorey and South Africa international Tsepo Masilela also on their radar.

MANCINI has left America early and the club has stated that it is due to a family illness. Well i can reveal it is not! Mancini has infact gone to meet Torres and his agent the finalise a £45m + Ireland deal. Balotelli has been sewn up today he will complete his move Monday and travel to Germany with City to play Dortmund after the Inter game. Reports linking Adebayor with a move away are a load of rubbish. Mancini has said all along he wants ample cover in all positions and lets face it TEVEZ, TORRES, BALOTELLI and ADEBAYOR will be just that. City will not move Adebayor on after 12 months despite what BITTER rival fans may think City do not waste money. Take a look on Citys website at the city in the comunity section and just take a look at the plans for the area surrounding the stadium that alone will create jobs in a very poor area. The players who are being brought to the club they can only spend the money they earn and they live in Manchester or the outskirts so they'll spend the money there. Man City are not doing anything wrong all you BITTER fans are just jelous because it aint your club who have the power City have.

what a load of utter rubbish, man city will at a push sign balotelli. Absolutely no chance for Torres he said himself he would never play for city so why make up stuff? also yo cannot put emphasis on the surrounding area of the city ground as a close member of my family works on that job. The job is to inevitably make the stadium look more presentable and highlight the owners best intentions are for the entire club not themselves. get you facts right mate.(11)(29)

The mcgeady situation at celtic could be about to turn nasty. the club are desperate for him to go and are trying to force him to sign for spartak. but if hes forced out his agent will look for a massive cut of the fee, upwards of 2m to compensate the player. this is common practice in big deals now.And having cost celtic nothing he will feel hes due. Obviously celtic won't want to pay this kind of money but they may have to in order to get him out. Spartak won't hang around for long waiting on an answer. if it all falls apart they run the risk of having their best player taking the huff at the way he had been bullied by the heirarcy, or having to accept a much lower bid from england.incidently the player will still expect a smaller pay off to go their. That is the reality of modern day football.(33)(30)

I find it so sad when I read this page.
It is clear that you have about 100 readers and about 10 who regularly contribute.
It looks like the foul mouthed abuse is on the increase due to the number of saddo's sitting at the computer with nothing better to do than make up unbelieveable stories that wind up the other poor misguided souls who fail to recognise the difference between fact and fiction.

I am going to test this theory.
I scour the journals, press cuttings and club websites for breaking news. I will post the most authentic snippets and wait for the reaction. I estimate that about 50% of the stories will result in a positive action by a club. I will listen for the sound of jaws hitting the floor.

Try these.

Sergio Aguerro will not sign for Liverpool. The club will admit openly that they do not have the resources to buy even with the sale of the mercenary Mascherano.

Danny Pacheco will depart for Spain before the end of August (loan or otherwise).

Liverpool will invest in 2 other English players before the season starts – they will not be Steven Tayor (injured) or Ashley Young (expensive) but could be Jenas (surplus to requirements) or Lescott (out of favour and sure to irk the blues).

I invite your thoughts.
Regards Franck

obviously you don't know the price of over inflated english players(from martin o'neil). you say we can't afford £30million for sergio aguero(37million euros!!) but lfc can afford ashley young, bought for 18million, doubled in value under o'neil's deluded vision so will cost rughly £30million?? weird and wonderful world you live in!

"I asked a question last night about Danny Wilson and nobody answered it. No big deal. I had a look myself and thought I'd post the results. The Ed might be interested if nobody else is.

Danny Wilson was born on 27th December 1991 and has signed in time to be considered a home–grown player by the time he is 21. Of course, it doesn't matter until then but this appears to be the reason for signing him before January."

I am not sure how Wilson will qualify as homegrown. He will not have had three seasons with Liverpool before turning 21.

Some of the gers fans were signing 'there only one cristiano'

probably nothing other than a trialist but the 2000 or so fans took to him and cheered every touch.

Sunday Times Financial section:– Former Syrian international footballer Yahya Kirdi claims to be fronting a consortium of Arab investors to buy Liverpool and "Is in talks with H&G". This looks like a rehash of the story from April this year..in any case I thought you scousers were saying it was Broughton who is handling any deal? Mind you other sites are suggesting Gillet is breaking ranks because he's brassick. Can he sell his stake alone, or is the whole thing a package? Here we go againMikeG"

As i understand it, he cannot sell his stake alone as BarCap have complete comtrol of the sale process and they wouldn't allow half the club to be sold as when previous investment was sought no one wanted to buy into a club that was locked in a power struggle, therefore it's all or nothing now. I believe he is allowed to bring interested parties to the table though and all bids must be listened to. It could simply be a tactic to attempt to flush out bigger bidders when he realises that the "best" bid for Liverpool, as Broughton said he'd accept, isn't necessarily the one that'll make him the most money. It does sound like a tinpot consortium though which is slightly troubling. {editor's note – Gillett and Hicks have a contract that gives the other a 1% stake if either sells their half separately. So anyone buying a stake from just one of them would only get 49% of the club.}(14)(33)

The person whoever wrote this was either a comic genius or an idiot, I'm undecided.

Anyway there's been plenty of rumours about kyrgiakos being surplus to requirements and on the basis that surely the Liverpool team must already be in Germany to play Monchengladbach it looks to be true. As instead of training/travelling this afternoon he was in John Lewis in Liverpool One!

On the above evidence then that means Agger, Ngog, Lucas are also surplus, as they have not travelled, interesting that Insua has even though Mascharano has not.(19)(36)

"This article is probably where the LFC takeover is at. Not sure if you can post it ed but if you can that would be great:

This article is a couple of months or so old and will likely do nothing other than whip a number of Liverpool supporters in to a frenzy. I think it should be ignored. I did read the article in the Sunday Times today and it seems that it is a rehash of an old story – but you never know. Mystery buyers from the Middle East eh? It will be more Americans again soon no doubt.

Try these..

To me it is a sign that Liverpool have been unable to get any of their first choice targets, it is a real let down. i don't think this is the sign that liverpool have been unable to thier first choice target.hodosn get back fabio, because insua has not been sold yet. if insua is sold, then liverpool can get new left back. liverpool has bid 1200euro for Dieumerci Mbokani. i think the money is from sale of benanyoun and reira. it can prove that the money from sale can be use in transfer market instead of for paying debt. i have another idea, is it the sign that liverpool has no intention to sell mescharano?(19)(12)

WOW! things are looking really bad for Liverpool at the moment. with very limited funds to buy, practically, a whole team, we are having to trawl through the bargin bin of free transfers. just when we thought we were getting rid of Rafa's deadwood, we go and give a 2 year contract to a 30 year old crock that should have retired, with injury problems, 2 years ago. don't get me wrong, he wasnt bad when he wasnt injured, but 72 games in 3 seasons? Jovanovic? reminds me of a certain ukrainian gentleman we got for free a couple of years ago. can't see him at the club for start of 2011/12 season to be honest. love to see crouch back to partner torres, not fill in for him. also like to see babel in a more central position where hes best.
wish list (although not completely far fetched)
Lopez – Atletico Madrid
Salcido – PSV (as back up to Lopez and extra left MF)
De Jong – Man City (if Masch leaves)
Marin – Werder Bremen
Crouch – Spurs
Tevez – Man City (if Torres goes)(12)(41)

Though I hope Mavinga will be given a shot, Aurelio is too slow to be a top class left back.}(10)(13)

Just a couple of comments on the players supposedly leaving Fulham:

Andy Johnson – West Brom – 6.5m
Diomansy Kamara – Marseille – 3.5m
Pascal Zuberhuler – Grasshoppers – 800k

Andy Johnson coming to WBA for 6.5 million? Not a bad player, but WBA would never risk that kind of money on a player coming back from a serious injury.

Kamara.. 3.5m. You will be lucky!

Zuberbuhler 800K ! Bryan Robson brought this clown to West Brom (says it all really). We have seen some dreadful keepers throughout the years, but this guy justifiably earned the nickname Zuberhowler almost from Day 1. This guy is without doubt the least talented goalkeeper I have ever seen pull on a green jersey. When Mowbray arrived at West Brom Zuberhowler never played another game for us as far as I can remember and his contract was very quickly terminated by mutual consent. 800K for that clown. Really..this must be some kind of wind up?(7)(24)

This article is probably where the LFC takeover is at. Not sure if you can post it ed but if you can that would be great:

You cannot be Syrias?

George Gillett claims firm interest from a potential buyer – but all, as ever, is not as it seems.

As the clock ticks ever closer to the end of another deflating transfer window for Liverpool Football Club, Anfield Road has learned that George Gillett has informed Royal Bank of Scotland and chairman Martin Broughton that he has found a serious investor who is interested in buying the club.

Time to rejoice?

Maybe not.

Anfield Road understands that George Gillett and LFC's mystery saviour is ex–Syrian international footballer and millionaire businessman Yahya Kirdi.

Gillett and Kirdi (pic: greatrednorth.[oops].com)First linked with the club shortly after Martin Broughton's appointment back in April it was intimated that the Syrian, who was using ex–Celtic player Andy Lynch as a spokesperson for the bid, had the support of "mystery billionaire backers from the Middle East", a line which should send a shiver down the spine of anyone who's kept an eye on either Portsmouth or Notts County under the stewardship of Sulaiman Al Fahim and Qadbak/Munto Finance respectively over the last 18 months.

Notwithstanding the Notts County and Portsmouth situation, it is understood that even the most rudimentary checks carried out on Mr Kirdi at the time of the initial interest showed his interest and capacity to put together a deal to be fanciful at best.

Needless to say, nothing ever came of the supposed interest, but it begs the question: if Yahya Kirdi has neither the inclination nor, more importantly, the means to complete a deal for LFC, why bother putting his name in the firing line in the first place, and to what benefit is it to Gillett for him to do so?

That is the question that we at Anfield Road have been trying to find an answer to for the last few days.

Exactly what Mr Kirdi has to gain from any involvement is still unclear, it may very well be nothing more than a favour to long–time friend Foster Gillett to help his father out of what is an increasingly tight spot. He does not appear to have anything like the desire for publicity as Prince Faisal bin Fahad bin Abdullah, Mr Gillett's previous stalking horse, whose appetite for a photo–op was only matched by the vulgarity of his sunglasses.

And to what end does it benefit Gillett?

It is believed that Gillett was panicked into submitting this new bid for the club under pressure from RBS, and by doing such, delayed any potential forced sale to any other potential buyer as RBS are legally required to listen, as current incumbents, to any such bid brought by either George Gillett or Tom Hicks.

The reasons for Gillett stalling the deal are fairly simple; it is clear that the interest anticipated by both himself and Tom Hicks hasn't materialised and they are facing the reality of walking away with nowhere near the figure they had in mind when they appointed Martin Broughton to oversee the sale process.

By forcing an extension it gives Gillett time to, yet again, board a flight to the Middle East, replete with his begging bowl, in an attempt to force an auction for the club with scant regard, as ever, for the club or its supporters which in reality only serves to deter interested observers as they are understandably reluctant to be ripped off by this particular snake–oil seller.

It is worth bearing in mind that whilst it is Martin Broughton's duty to sell the club to the best possible candidate (not necessarily the highest bidder), Gillett is only interested in getting the highest possible price for his stake in the club.

There is more than a hint of irony in all of this as it was only last month Gillett was letting it be known to certain members of the press that he was desperate to sell, but it was the greed of Tom Hicks that was holding up a sale.

Not that we should be surprised by this; Gillett has always been the "cute" one of the arrangement, Tom Hick's inability to keep his foot out of his mouth and his name out of the papers allowed Gillett to keep a relatively low profile, two incidents apart when he was caught lying on record by both SOS and a fan who had the nous to record a conversation in which it was a struggle to pick out a single truth.

That aside, and ultimately more importantly at the minute, is that what isn't clear is just how much extra time RBS are legally obliged to grant this proven liar to play his silly games and how much time they are affording him out of courtesy or misguided loyalty. By affording Gillett such grace, RBS are playing a dangerous game with the future of one of the most important football clubs in the world.

Anfield Road is aware that an absolutely serious party is ready and willing to move in right now. Further delay will be disastrous for the club and unless the bankers at RBS finally come to terms with the reality of the situation they risk facing a disaster of their own with the money they have tied up in the club.

It may take further pressure from supporters, SOS and ultimately Martin Broughton to force RBS to bring an end to this sorry charade, kicking Gillett and Hicks out and allowing suitable, capable and committed ownership in.(16)(26)

Man City are not doing anything wrong all you BITTER fans are just jelous because it aint your club who have the power City have.(7)(38)

Asked him if he had a good night? His reply " I just wish i had broke even" lol. Wished him well for the new season and asked if they were going to make any signings, he said we are hoping to sign 3 or 4 players. 2 are premiership players who are on free transfers but wouldn't name them. just laughed when i asked and said " you will see in the papers" Anyway he was a sound guy and very polite. 'Tonge probably stay at Brit. KPB will sign after Sonko join Portsmouth and it will happen this week due to Whelan injury. Cole and Noble in the week before season opening. Soares will move away.'

Stoke looking to off –load Tonge, Soares, Kitson, Dickinson and Beattie but as yet nothing agreed for any. Bristol City want Kitson but it's down to the player who was trying to manipulate a move to West Ham.

Stoke had their offer for Carlton Cole rejected and refused to meet the asking price and are looking elsewhere, hence West Ham NOW saying he is staying.

Sunderland looking to cash in on Kenwyne Jones a long time Stoke target which could happen yet as Pulis a big fan.

To all the Liverpool fans out there,

My cousin is currently in Madrid and he told my brother (Who is a Liverpool supporter) that Lopez LB of Athletico Madrid is supposedly signing for Liverpool.
I don't know anything about Liverpool and I don't follow them I just thought I would pass on the news that I heard.
I know you are a liverpool fan Editor, What do you think of this {editor's note – I hope he is right, the lad looks a good player.}(39)(71)
