Expect bids for sheff wed's lee grant from celtic, west brom and qpr this week.
also there will be bids for marcus tudgay from burnley and again west brom.
if successful bid for tudgay then wednesday will try to prise jordan rhodes from huddersfield.

Grant and Tudgay are both likely to go, but dream on if you think Sheff Weds could get Rhodes.

Grant has said he is happy at SWFC and is stopping (Tudgay also). However, money talks but it would need to be serious money. Tudgay and Grant on very long and well paid contracts.
SWFC have a full complement of strikers so Tudgay would have to leave to allow Wednesday to bring in another. We are more interested in another defender – Mawene from PNE?
I am not dreaming that our goalkeeping coach at SWFC is Andy Rhodes – yep, Jordan's old dad. Blood is thicker than underestimating the pulling power of a 'sleeping giant' – not my words – 'real' football people's words, including Neil Warnock (a raging Blade!)

Bristol City are still trying to work a deal with Stoke for Kitson. Wages are the blockage and while Stoke won't lower their valuation, City can't offset the wages with a signing on fee to compensate. But they aint giving up easily and a deal may yet happen.

Updates at the CG today. The Forest team arrived back to news that the 1st signing has been done & will be announced Tues/Weds. Its not a leftback though.
Pratley is becoming unhappy with resolving his wages for his move, similar to Majewski in January. He has no other offers yet but can wait. Shorey would sign but there's not enough on the table to tempt him, so hes waiting to see who else comes in.
Contrary to rumours BD and ND have not had showdown talks. ND is looking to get more involved on some deals as he did last year (eg Blackstock). He hopes this will quieten down the fiery Glaswegian but who knows if that's possible?
Finally the TP are after 3 as yet unconfirmed Prem players, all of whom have expressed an interest in joining should BD STAY! I guess that's up in the air until later this week. BD currently has a "show me don't tell me" stance and wants at least 2 players at the CG before the end of the week.

Roy Hodgeson is rumoured to be looking at trying to get Riise back to Liverpool. This would fill the LB position which Hodgeson claimed is a priority to sort out this summer with Insua/Dossena gone.
Man City have had a £20m bid turned down from Inter Milan for Mario Balotelli. Inter have a £30m price tag on Balotelli but City are rumoured to try another £20m bid with Robinho involved in the deal.

I don't think any Everton fans would welcome him re–signing after the way he has acted. Apparently he wanted guaranteed first team football in centre midfield. Well, maybe at Newcastle. He was about 4th or 5th choice last season behind Arteta, Pienaar, Rodwell, Fellaini and Cahill. Then there's also Osman and Heitinga. Don't get me wrong, he's a decent prospect, but surely he can't believe he's that good.
Is he likely to pass any medical before the trannsfer window closes anyway?

Strong roumers coming out of Italy this afternoon claimed that Manchester City were on the verge of Signing Ballotelli. His agent has since claimed that talks have been put on hold. This is due to a Manchester Utd delegation arriving in Milan in a desperate bid to force through a transfer. Sir Alex Ferguson rates Ballotelli and will try everything in his power to make this transfer happen. If successful expect an announcement early next week. Ballotelli is desperate to move to UTD as he believes he would have more first team opportunities which is understandable with all Citys fire power, however his agent is keen for the city deal to take place as he believes they will (understandably) get a better deal.

Ive just been told by a very good friend that FOREST have signed 3 players but for some strange reason its being kept very hush hush?? The guy that told me lived in the meadows area of nottingham an went to school with some of the current forest players i do no that he still gets tickets from them as ive been asked to go to matches with him before ( comp tickets ) but he doesn't no why the players have been sworn to secrecy ?? he did say one of the new players was either on loan last season or coming on loan ?

Eduardo is set to leave for donesk this week and Wickham (£10, and because Wenger wants an Englishman). 1 More Centre – back Mertesacker (€15m). They wanted Jagielka but he was too expensive(and not as good as Mertesacker). Goalkeeper will be Stephane Ruffier (£6.25m) from Wengers former club Monaco where he has good connections

With the addition of Cole to the Liverpool team it is almost certain Gerrard and Torres will be prepared to give the reds one more year to prove themselves. The signing of a left back is imminent, looking like Danijel Pranjic could be a target of Roy Hodgson. Another likelihood is Loic Remy, the current Nice attacker joining for in the region of £10–12 million. These signings look to boost an already strong looking Liverpool team. With the sales of Riera, Babel, Ngog and Mascherano generating a nice looking £33 million + another decent signing seems to be likely to occur. I am only telling rumours that could occur, and am being realistic. A take over is also rumoured and with the way things are looking could be completed by the start of season. Things looking bright for Liverpool under Rooooyyy.

Cole went to the only club that can utilize his skills on a regular basis. A very good signing for you. Arsenal don't need another same type player, we have enough of them that do not produce on a regular basis.
I am certain that Frey is our g/k target and, the defender we will sign is anybody's GUESS. Although, I do expect Wenger to splash out on the right player (s).
Cesc to remain for AT LEAST one more season, and this will give time for Ramsey to recover and get fit. Who knows, with Maureen at Real, maybe the Barca will not seem so attractive after being trophless at the end of next season?
Liverpool will, without doubt spend again before the season starts, and Arsenal, minus the deadwood, Silvestre, Gallas, Senderos and Howl–Munia will do better again this season. We were only defeats, at home to the top two that stopped us winning Premiership last season.

Sasa Papac and Andrius Velicka have been left out of the squad that's going with Rangers to Australia, the Injury angle is getting used. But in reality these two have been left behind as there contract has only a year left on it, and Rangers are keen to move them on as soon as possible.
Expect these two players to be the latest to leave Ibrox in the coming weeks. As for Kenny Miller Sunderland are keen to sign him with a possibility of David Healy going the other way.

Rowan Vines agent has been in touch with Leeds to try and engineer a move for Vine as he has been told by QPR he has no future, Leeds are looking at 2 other options so the deal looks unlikely.

Steve Bruce thought he had perfected his team until he had to let Lorik Cana leave.
He looked over his team after that and decided he needs to replace Cana and needs another forward player, either a striker or someone who sits behind the striker.

Celtic news regarding Paddy McCourt and the link to Blackpool.
Neil Lennon has confirmed that Celtic have offered a contract extension to Paddy McCourt, which he is considering. This comes following interest for Paddy from Blackpool.
This is not to say he won't go to Blackpool. He may be lured there if they're promising him first team football, which is something he's been unable to get at Celtic. However this is more down to Paddy's fitness than just being left out. He's simply an impact player for us who, on his day, has the talent to unlock any defence but can't play a full 90 minutes and very seldomly appears in 2 games in a row.
Celtic seem to be showing some faith in him though as reportedly the extension offered to him is a 2 year contract and Lennon has stated that he'd like Paddy to stay.

Looks like Chelsea are to miss out on all their big name targets.. With Ancelotti fending off any interest from Mourinho on Ashley Cole, that will rule out any possible deal with Kaka.
Carvalho is also stalling on any move out of Chelsea which will mean missing out on Porto's Bruno Alves.

Dan Gosling has an injury and is out until the New Year so I think its highly unlikely that he is training with any squad just yet.
That said he is more likely to sign for Newcastle than West Ham, but West Ham are looking to complete the signings these players very shortly:
Loic Remy – £12million
Tal Ben–Haim – Free
Kevin–Prince Boateng – £5 million
And some foreign goalkeeper.
Remy won't be going to Liverpool, Roy has already came out and said that Liverpool were tracking him before he got there and has been recommended to him but he know's nothing about him and only signs player's that he's seen play and made a judgement on. Whilst we already have Nasri, Arshavin & Rosicky, who are equally as good, if not better. I fully expect Arsenal to sign a goalkeeper & a further centre back. My gut feelings are Frey & Subotic. Frey is 30 & experienced, giving time for the younger Arsenal keepers to come through & Subotic is a tall talented young centre back. I would rather it not be Schwarzer & Jagielka. 1) The poster who mentioned Santon (sp?) as a makeweight in the Mascherano deal is half right. Liverpool have been given a option on 3 Inter squad players. Inter have allowed Liverpool to speak to the players' representatives but it is up to each player to decide if they are interested. It is not a done deal. Yeah I can, if we can't afford to offer boydichenko, Thompson etc improved deals to the extent you need to let leave on a bosmen or sell as they are entering the last year of their contract then there is NO WAY in he'll we can afford Rinos wages or transfer fee. It's ridiculous that there are bears out there who keep this STUPID rumour alive! Please stop it!
We will sign the Aussie lad on loan, and maybe conway and goodwillie but only if other interested teams dint push up the asking price.

Reading some of the things on here from leeds and west ham fans is laughable. Dan Gosling has already signed for Newcastle and has been seen training with the team in Dublin, he will be announced next week with De Guzman Juan Albin and yohan benalouane. Yohan will be signed for cover as their is concerns after Taylors injury who will sign a new contract along with carroll and krul, Smith won't be leaving newcastle he wants to end his career at SJP. So my message to leeds and west ham fans ( the most deluded in the world ) please stop giving us your dream team and accept reality .

yes i can inform that roy hodgson has grown tired of mascherano lack of respect towards him and will allow him to leave for the right money to inter milan and rafa benitez is willing to offer cambiasso or santon plus money. roy hodgson has identified left back has a priority so the deal will probably be 21million plus santon.
plus the reason santon has agreed to move as he was told that he will be a regular starter as opposed to warming the bench at inter.

Heskey loan dependent on McGeady transfer because McGeady fee will be enhanced (in kind) by Celts picking up the tab for the balance of Heskey's wages (balance reputed to be £35K per week, or £1.26M over the season). This brings McGeady's valuation up to £7.26M – to be augmented by appearance money / sell on fee after 3 seasons.
Keane valued at £8M (sorry missed out the M – that would have been a bargain!) plus appearance money for one season.

News relating to Celtic
Sky Sports News reporting that Spanish side, Hercules (not to be confused with Dutch side, Heracles) have made a bid for Celtic Striker, Georgios Samaras. At the moment Celtic are considering what to do.
Also reported this morning is Spurs are set to make a bid for Bellamy. So that would be scuppering any planned moves by Celtic for Bellamy, as has been constantly reported. Celtic are most likely dependant on offloading McGeady for a big price before making any sort of move for Bellamy and the fact Aiden hasn't left yet just means time is draining away rapidly.
It's also reported that Celtic target Sol Campbell has opted for Newcastle United. Although the deal is not signed yet. Bottom line, it would be a major surprise now if Sol Campbell signs for Celtic at this late stage.
According to Wikipedia (take that for what it's worth) a few squad numbers have changed at Celtic. Lukasz Zaluska now has the #1 jersey, vacated by Artur Boruc. Reports regarding a new goalkeeper are linking Palace keeper, Julien Speroni with us. This seems more plausible than David James coming as it seems Lenny is going to put faith in Zaluska as our first choice keeper and instead will bring in a new keeper to play as backup, rather than a 40 year old David James who'd expect big wages and probably be able to perform well for one more year, at the most.

I am posting this to the guy that says Celtic are gonna sign Lawrence, Murphy, James, Bellamy & Campbell & Bullard I really think you need to get your facts staright, Campbell & Bullard have already said they are not interested because the money is not there, Campbell is heading to Newcastle & as for Bullard maybe a championship side possibly Middlesborough & a mean Lawrence & Murphy cmon, I am a Rangers fan & if we had 12 million pounds to spend we wouldn't be going for useless has beens or players who arent even getting a game with their current club, Bellamy no chance why would he leave Man City a massive premier league side to come to Celtic a team who struggled to beat a 10 man San Jose side just the other day & really the cherry on the cake is David James, u just got rid of one useless lump of a goalie to bring in another one, go for it, with the ambition & eye for a player that Neil Lennon & his coaching staff have got the title is staying where it belongs, I really am confident that without Gers even spending a penny we can still retain the title, Cmon the gers.

Michael Doyle is unlikely to leave Coventry this season. Central Midfielder Gary Deegan has sustained an injury in pre–season which will keep him out of action for 3 months. This leaves Sammy Clingan, Aron Gunnarsson and Michael Doyle as players who are specialist CM's. (Isaac Osbourne also out with injury). Expect Doyle to leave on a free contract at the end of the season.

Don't believe any rumours regarding Wigan players to PNE as this has just come about because of the link between Maurice Lindsey our new chairman and his former club {editor's note – the Nicky Butt to Preston rumour started up because of who your manager is, rather than any real interest in him. I am guessing there is no real interest or he would have signed by now. As for the two other signings, I am unsure on those, have heard too many conflicting accounts on who they are. This "quote" has been taken directly from Banega's wiki page, and I've checked and this has now been removed from his wiki page as I'm sure someone realised it was absolute rubbish. His wiki page now reads,
"With the departures of David Villa and David Silva in 2010, Banega is expected to become an integral part to the team and is a growing fan favourite at the club" – That just in, believe it you who want.

With Walsall's new director Leigh Pomlett joining the board. He has pumped £400,000 into the club to be used for transfers and players wages. Chris Hutchings will have money to spend.

Just a thought regarding LFC.
Hodgson has been quoted as saying that we need to sign players fairly quickly for the champions league, as the medical staff have informed him that players who played in the latter stages of the world cup shouldn't be playing in the early games of the europa league.
As we only have a limited transfer budget, does this then mean that we won't be signing any world cup players from countries who reached the knock out rounds?
Secondly, Hodgson has stated that the futures of players such as Riera and Insua were decided before he came to the club. If this is the case, then there is a very good chance that Cole and Remy may still arrive before the start of the new season. Perhaps we might see a few other players we were linked with such as Turan. The fact that Dalglish was in Istanbul a few weeks ago may back this up.
Not rumours as such, just trying to put 2 and 2 together and come up with the right answers.

I personally don't see any of these coming about barring Tonge? Gattuso seems more likely than ever but I still doubt it. I don't think Niguez would want to come back. Holman would reportedly demand about 18k pw and I don't think Rangers are willing to play it. Kewell and McDonald are pure rubbish I reckon, and if Goncalves were to sign it would've been done by now and he wouldn't be putting make statements on his website to drum up interest.
I don't see Rangers wanting to sell Davis at all, and I doubt Bougherra will go this season. Miller seems to be the one guy Walter relies on and I don't think he'd sell him, especially since he's not worth a substantial amount

Although I don't think a firm interest has been declared in Loic Remy, it seems that Nice are piling the pressure on Liverpool over the player. The deal seems to be if you want the player then (a) offer as much as West Ham offered, and (b) pay up by the end of the season – effectively half now and half in June 2011.
Liverpool needs to figure out how many wide playing strikers they need. Remy is a better than average striker – but not a great striker. I would guess that he would be nowhere near the top of the list were it were not for financial constraints (unless of course this is a smokescreen for something else!). He does seem to be similar to other players that the club already have. I would be surprised if Liverpool progressed this without at least letting someone else go first. I also doubt that they would allow themselves to be bullied by Nice.
In other news, it seems that maybe Rafa Benitez did have an eye for a player, with ex–Liverpool defender Andrea Dossena scoring the first of what will no doubt be many hat–tricks for Napoli.

Believe this or not but joey cole is currently in discussions with west ham about a return to upton park.sullivan is prepared to offer him £105,000 a week on a 2 year deal and also a clause so that he can leave in ANY transfer window!
No we don't believe it one bit! Several reasons:
A) At £105k per week, Cole would be paid at least 40% more than the Hammers current highest paid player. If Cole was to be earning that kind of money, Scott Parker's agent would soon be demanding his client have at least parity to the deal.This would then split the dressing room and more than likely end in Parker, Green and Upson putting in transfer requests.
B)West Ham are all in all a pretty poor squad. At best, they will be pushing mid–table, but more likely battling against the drop again. Joe Cole is highly unlikely to sign for a club that is not currently competing in European football.
C) When Sullivan & Gold purchased West Ham, their immediate target was to stabilise the club and get rid of the high earning players with horrendous injury records – Kieron Dyer, Luis Boa Morte, Dean Ashton etc. Joe Cole hardly fits that remit! Bearing in mind that signings so far have been McCarthy, Piquionne, Barrera, Ilan and Mido – it doesn't take a genius to work out that there's not a great deal of money available at the club!
D) Yes, Cole's a boyhood Hammer, but at the end of the day, he's 28 and this next move will in all likelyhood be his last long term deal before he retires. Arsenal are not interested, Spurs have issues over his wages, Man Utd have not made an approach in fact the only club desperate enough to pander to Cole's whims seems to be Liverpool. It is a well known fact though that Cole doesn't want to relocate from London. Therefore he has to either lower his wage demands and give Spurs a crack or show himself to be the true mercenary he really is and take the money on offer at Liverpool.
This has to be the most boring transfer saga ever on record!

Chelsea have apparently had a 30 mil bid for aguero accepted .. aswell as franco di santo heading to vicente calderon this would be a very good move for both parties included.
30 mil is the supposed fee but have been told it could be 5 mil more or less.

These transfers are most likely and the ones that won't happen to happen between now and the close of the transfer window.
Tottenham – Joe Cole deal. Wrapped up ages ago. Spurs ready to pay Joe Cole 95,000 with a signing on fee.
Craig Bellamy will not be joining Spurs. He is staying at City. Pav, Crouch, Defoe and Keane to all line up for Spurs this season on and off the bench.
Manchester United – Benzema, not moving from Real Madrid. United however will sign Gary Cahill and Ryan Shawcross, possible cover for the departure of Evra and Vidic in the next season.
Liverpool FC. What can I say about this. My sources from Jimmy Johnson by the river tells me, Liverpool will be doing most of their big buys right on the 11th hour of this summers transfer window. Expect to see some old faces to return to the club. Liverpool were never in the running to sign anyone big for a long time, now they cash is here. Torres to stay.
Chelsea – Going to be very quiet at Chelsea, hardly any players going or comming. why spoil a winning team. Torres talk is krap talk. Papers have nothing else to fill in the back pages.
Arsenal – To sign Mikkel Arteta for 15 Million and part exchange/loan players. you heard it here first.
Aston Villa – will hold on to James Milner, he's not going anywhere.
Man City – the next player Man City will sign is.wait for it. Ashely Cole – 35 Million pounds. Ashely Cole, will trigger a clause in his contract, that will turn ugly between the chiefs of both clubs.

Bullard will be followed to Celtic Park by Craig Bellamy and a centre half, Lenny wants experiance but if he can't get one he will move for Kelvin Wilson of Forrest, a goalkeeper will also be bought, names linked are Westwood, James and Cudicini, all transfers will b funded by the sale of McGeady, Samaras, Ferry and Wilson on top of Boruc and McManus. I personally can't see Gattuso re–signing for TFOD as he would never take a massive drop in his wages, if they can't offer Eagles from the championship good terms wot chance of Gattuso? Personally I would love them to give him 70/80 grand a week at his age!

Just to clear this up Gattuso has not signed for rangers and is unlikely to at the moment maybe next couple of seasons but not this one. Wika is not accurate as has been mentioned millions of times before. Bullard should sign for Celtic this week following Hulls sweetner and would expect Bellamy or likewise signing within the next 7days
