I am a Newcastle fan, and would like to see Wenger as the new England boss. He has massive experience within the English game and would help the technically gifted young players coming through at the moment.

Harry... maybe, but I see him as yes man and going with player power rather than helping the team develop, the same as Venables, then walking away.

Whilst I think Terry will be found guilty, and will be banned, the fact remains that Cappello was the manager and should have been the one to make the decision. Now, we are going into a major tournament without any stability and will probably have a part time boss in charge who will need to bring in staff etc.

My second point is why is the FA run as a buisness? Well I know why, because of the massive amounts of money that the English game generates, but would it not be better if it was run by former professionals? I am sure that Trevor Brooking and others would run it better that greedy business men. I mean, do the maths all of the billions of pounds from TV and this goes to the prem teams and then down through the leagues, but does it really?

Toonal

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Having said the above, maybe England could do with playing like England. To our strenghs ie pace.

Too many managers have come in and tried to get us playing a continental game.

Maybe Redders would be a good choice, but I would not say no to Wenger... and I think he would take ot too!

KEITH HILL next England manager? {Ed013's Note - Funniest thing I've heard since McLaren!}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

WELL McClaren did get Job ED so not that funny DaveTheRed {Ed013's Note - Very True, but I am sure that Barnsley would be gutted if he went}

Agree0 Disagree0

Too true

Agree0 Disagree0

We,ll not mind cos he,ll be doing his bit for his Country as long as he doesn,t go to poor OLD LEEDS {Ed013's Note - I've heard he has good odds for the Leeds job, but Ken Bates won't go for anyone that he has to pay for! Barnsley won't let him go as he is doing a very good job}

Agree0 Disagree0

Harry Hill would be better.

John Terry to announce his retirement from international football

Believable3 Unbelievable1

About time!

Agree0 Disagree0

I did not want him in the team anyway. When we played in the WC he did not perform in the Germany game at all, like he could not be ar$3d, maybe something to do with having the armband taken off him?

Probably the same reaction to this if he plays for England again.

Shame really because when they were on form, Terry and Rio were beasts for England. Not gonna happen again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope not. I would prefer if he were available and then not selected. perhaps then it will sink in that he's done (for more than just footballing reasons), and not wanted.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

08 Feb 2012 19:41:14
The FA have offered the special one the england job, but jose has said he will consider it.
But he would also have Terry as captain. But politician's & the racist tweeter footballers, would try to make this impossible. So he has told them to stick it.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Really? he said that? Err no. I dont think they have approached anyone yet or it would be all over the papers.

If he loves terry so much, why is he not in Madrid now?

What Terry would not go as he loves Chelsea so much? Have you seen some of the Madrid WAGS Terry would be over there like a shot if he was given the chance!

It is clear to all sky blue fans that local people covering the sky blues want sisu to stay as they love what these jokers have done to our great club making out there in the know when really they just feed off gossip get sisu out and there local friends

Believable1 Unbelievable0

The biggest scandel in football history was your old owner Richardson. did he not sell robbie keane to inter and then the money vanished? Then he sold the ground to his own company and charged rent? Then build a load of houses and what not where the ground used to be? He also screwed them out of all of the transfer cash for all of the players that were sold to Villa ie Dublin and that Hadji lad.

When he left he tried to go to Derby, but their fans where having none of it. He got the message.

This made the papers and is still under investigation - the Coventry bit not Derby.

The reason we have not been doing well enough is Jackett tinkering with the side £ formations to much. Last night we gave Saints a footballing lesson because the side had players in correct positions & they were players that could actually pass the ball to each other not the opposition. Let's keep it that way for Derby on Saturday Mr Jacket

So Arsenal need to raise £30m for E.Hazard?

Almunia £1.5m, Squillachi £1m, Diaby £4m, Arshavin £6m, Chamakh £5m, Bendtner £7m, Vela £2m, Park £2m

Chuck them all on eBay, and that'll be around £28.5m, put the rest on a credit card and fill the gaps with talented youth players!

Almunia can be replaced with Mannone, Squillachi can be replaced by Bartley, Diaby can be replaced by Wilshire when he's fit, Arshavin can be replaced by the Ox or Ryo, the four strikers can be replaced by Sanchez Watt and Chuks Aneke

Although I don't think D.Sturridge would be a bad addition to the ranks!

Diouf has a cheek slagging off the SPL he's hardly in the heights of world football at Doncaster , After his gobbling escapades of the past he should have banned from football forever and you guys could get three guys who would die for the jersey on what you pay him. Good luck for the rest of the season you need it with that tosser on board

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Well done diouf !
keep the good work up!

Regarding the Coventry City takeover rumour I was told about yesterday, have an close interest in ACL, and have been told that a deal is very close to being completed for both the Ricoh Arena and the football club. Have heard sums of around £100 million being banded about for the total investment in both the half-share of the stadium, paying off Sisu and some serious investment in the playing side.

Chinese/Far Eastern investors though as previously rumoured far off the mark, Eastern may not be too far away however, and a company that invests a lot in local(ish) manufacturing in a big way.

Hope all true, and can thank the Lord if it is.

Ta Ta for now....--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry but £100m I'm not a Coventry fan but no way would it cost that to buy them surely! much bigger clubs have been sold for less. This just seems made up to me. What source do you have if any? {Ed001's Note - the poster does say £100m to buy the club, half the stadium and invest in the team.}

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Haha very clever, trying to post that TaTa name drop linking to the boost in the manufacturing industy, hope it comes off but we shall have to see, any idea on time frame? Is due dilligence being looked at? Will our home be renames TATA park?
