NUFC fan here, just wondering as we've been heavily linked with Jacob butterfield, if anyone could tell me what he's like as a player? Is he likely to make the step up?

i find it funny how loads of people have a dig at leicester for being linked with loads of players just because we have loads of money but look at all the other clubs being linked with players southampton and reading as well as plenty of other teams its stupid!

Reading and Saints link themselves with generally realistic players and excitement is understandable considering they both just got promoted.

Leicester are just languishing in the championship, trying to buy the league when they have very little attractiveness to top players in the current state of the club.

People are generally understanding that Reading and Saints got promoted and need investment. Leicester invested loads last season and everyone laughed at them because they fell flat on their faces.

Also people do mention it when Reading and Saints fans get carried away with transfer rumours - it's not like they are getting off without being accused of being morons.

A couple of weeks ago I posted that a very reliable source confirmed Reading would sign Peter Whittingham if Cardiff fluffed the Play-offs (again).

He said this was a done deal if they blew it, so hopefully this will be wrapped up soon.

Also Garath McCleary is expected to sign for Reading this week on a free transfer from Nottingham Forest.

That's the CM/AM and Winger McDermott wanted, with a LB (Wayne Bridge apparently), CB (Connolly coming back from QPR), RB and ST still to come in.

Reading have made a bid for Iceland youngster Bj??rn Bergmann Sigurdarson. (Not Gylfi Sigurdsson)

Reading are tabling a bid for Watford defender Adrian Marriappa for around £1.5 Million.

Watford have also made an enquiry to sign Nathan Delfouneso on a permanent from Aston Villa.

Seems a bit low to me, how much did Wigan and Newcastle bid?

Newcastle are going to bid 4 million in the summer. 1.5 million is to little. It would be good though if we could get a reliable striker who could better Danny Graham.
