Shane Long wont sign for anyone this transfer window.
He will sign for Celtic in the January transfer.
Reading only have themselves to blame for having such an extortionate price on a player near the end of his contract, and will lose him for peanuts.

Southampton are still looking at a new striker and hope to have a deal completed by the 13th August. Nigel Adkins wants to stick to the "young and hungry" criteria for Summer signings at Southampton and is hoping to land one of either Benik Afobe of Arsenal or Nathan Eccleston of Liverpool - on a season long loan deal.

Triallist Mikael Forssell has left West Ham having failed to secure a permanent contract. The Finnish international has been training at Chadwell Heath for the past fortnight in an effort to land a contract with Sam Allardyce's new squad.

However his agent, Erkki Alaja revealed today that the former Chelsea and Birmingham striker had been unsuccessful. "Miklu [Forssell] stayed in London and got a good workout," he told MTV3. "All went well, but the agreement is always another matter."

Despite failing to secure a deal with West Ham, the 30-year-old free agent has retained his place in the next Finland squad - for whom he has made 76 appearances - and is pencilled in to face Latvia next week.

i dont like united but lets be honest the majority would stick by them if they go through a bad time same with city but chelsea on the other hand would run away if they had the same problems as arsenal never mind what liverpool where going through i am not a liverpool fan but a city fan and it winds me up that a team such a chelsea and there half hearted fans get a owner like they have the only reason he purchased you was arsenal at the time where doing really well and spurs at the time where fighting at the foot of a league if chelsea was not located in london he would not have looked twice chlesea have the Russian oil and gas business to thank for there league and cup success ten years ago you were a cup side just here to make the numbers up and no you bang on Liverpool are not a top team you lot are babies in the world of football were the likes of united, Liverpool, Nottingham forest and arsenal put english football on the map but more than anyone liverpool and untied did it
say what you want but i stuck by city when my family supported man united or liverpool when they winning stuff so we deserve this spending power alot more than them chelsea part time football fans ever did

To all the fans who keep having a go at QPR, and the fact that they reckon we'll be bottom, **** off. we topped the championship all last season. Warnock is finally being given money to spend, and we've come up with a better squad than half the bottom teams in the premiership, i'd say a comfortable 11th/12th finish. Adel will run riot, Joe cole nearly signed, Faurlin and Buzsaky, Paddy in goal, dj and jay up front, we wont struggle as much as you'd all like to think.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

How many points do you get for a "nearly signed"? Go back in your cupboard.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont think we will do as badly as people think, but we seriousyl need to sure up the defence Clint Hill can only kick a certain amount of people
But bring on the take over in comes at least some money and remember there are still some seriously good players still on frees Matty Upson etc.. (who has been linked with us)

just a quick question guys n edds , which english/british teams have won the european cup, now not the mickey mouse cup winners cup which is no more anyway, can u tell me whos won most? just trying to gage who are the big clubs, thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Celtic were the first British Team to win the modern day European Cup in 1967
The rest follows;
Liverpool 5 x winners 77,78,81,84 & 2005
Man Utd 3 x Winners 68, 99 & 2008
Forest 2 x winners 79 & 1980
and Aston Villa won it in 1982
It was also won by three English clubs but the tournament was known by different names
Upton Park FC 1900
Pilgrims FC 1902
and West Auckland 1909 & 1911
So No Arsenal or Cheslea or Manchester city....yet

Liverpool to bring Mark Wright and Phil Babb out of retirement, as they will be better than the ageing donkey defenders they have got at the moment

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Carragher was on a zimmerframe last time i saw him, dogleash should have signed a couple of defenders. LOSERS

Agree0 Disagree0

21 years since liverfool won the league, 2nd rate premiership team who everyone on here laughs at

Agree0 Disagree0

We all hate the red half of merseyside. Chelsea rule

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe they could sign david weir, he is a similar age to carragher, they could chat about the olden days while players run rings round them

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool fans to do a tour of old trafford so then can see what a premiership trophy looks like. Forever in uniteds shadow.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea are the oldest team in the prem, at least carragher can reminise on 2 gr8 champs lge semi wins against chavski and the fifth victorious final in istanbul, was it over the line davy weir?yes cara he says

Naarwich support: I think you'll find that the built up area of Naarwich is over 250,000, and the "commuter area" is not far short of 400,000, so the figure of around 130,000 is very misleading. Brighton go down ? Sure. We have replaced the two players that left with decent replacements. Murray is nowhere near as good as CMS and in fact Murray was made an offer which said that frankly he wasn't wanted. Barnsley ? Why does just about every pundit think you'll go down ?

As for the two blacked out Ranger Rovers at Selhurst, much more likely to be bailiffs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Away fans always sing at anfield "Wheres your famous atmosphere"

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh no Please don't be so outrageous the you would even but liverfool and dog leash I'm so offended . Utter devastation

Agree0 Disagree0

Ye they dont sing it at shamford brdge, as never has their been one, chavski fans found a voice in 2004 wen abramovich took over, alot jumped on the wagon, its well known its the best atmosphere , spurs have better fans than u lot , even joe cole said he couldnt beleive it in 05 n he was with u clowns, small club no history no euro cups, u aint big till u got big ears , terry steps up...................oh hes hit the post, anelka steps up...............oh van der saar has saved it . get back in your box

Agree0 Disagree0

What? u made no sense there , "pls dont be so outrageous then you would even but liverpool??. ur chance to shine here n u fluff ur lines , must be getting old like chelsea, terry steps up......he hits the post anelka steps up.......;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Then little Terry starts crying. Disgrace of a club. Thats why they hate Spurs and Arsenal they have a longer and richer history. Chavvis didnt start till 2004.

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpoo havn't been a decent team for over 20 years. When they beat Milan in the Champions League it was a great performance but they should be embarressed by how far they were behind Chelsea & Man Utd in the Prem that season, think it was about 20 points. Fairplay but lets be honest the team that won it wasn't even the best team in Liverpool that season let alone Europe......Liverpool just living in the past and most of their supporters support them as they were successful when they were kids......yes glory hunters. I live in the south and theres plastic scousers everywhere who have never been to that shxt pit that is anfield

Agree0 Disagree0

I am more than happy to take stick and criticism from Liverpool fans who are true Liverpool fans from that part of the country. They are passionate fans and love the sport and have lots of knowledge, the thing that gets me is that they get let down by these plastic scousers who come on here knocking everyone else, i wouldn't mind but i'm betting they probably come from Watford and have never been up the M62

Agree0 Disagree0

Haven't been a decent team for over 20 years? How can you justify that when in 2001 Liverpool won 3 trophies, 2003 - won the league cup. in 2005 won the champions league, in 2006 won the FA Cup, 2007 - runners up in champions league, 08/09 - finished runners up for the prem. Yes Liverpool had some poor individual players, but as a team you can't argue that they wern't and still are, a good team. Also, people can support who they want, there is no rule saying you can only support a team if you go to games or live in a certain place. Im sure the likes of United and Chelsea or who ever you support (i'm guessing Chelsea as you've posted similar rubbish on here before) have supporters all over the country who haven't been to thier stadiums but do you mention that? no. Grow up kid.

Agree0 Disagree0

What you on about, i've not posted on here before. Yes i support Chelsea and have done for over 30 years and yes i've seen some poor football especially in the early 80's. I'm not saying you have to go home and away every week to be a real supporter, truth is most fans that i would class as real fans have been priced out of going to football over the last few years anyway and being able to afford a season ticket certainly dosn't make you a real fan. Its easy being a football fan these days as its fashionable. Like Man City fans have got coming to them i've enjoyed the Roman era and successful 10 years or so, i don't begrudge City and their future success as i think their fans deserve it....football goes in cycles and teams have successful and non successful periods....but for some reason Liverpool fans don't understand this and get very paranoid if other teams enjoy success. I really don't give a sh1t what teams are bigger than others, altho i do repect teams past achievements. To be honest i prefered football back in the early 90's when grounds were full of real suporters rather than the coprorate and jonny come latelys of today
