I heard a rumour that Butcher is contemplating a bid for Livi Striker Iain Russell and is also one of the Scottish team managers looking at Billy Mehmet.

Ignore his comments about not signing anyone else, he needs strikers as we only have 3 fit strikers at the moment and thats why he is interested in the above players ;)

Liverpools defence is the worst in the prem. Carra needs to draw his pension, he is looking weary. Maybe they should play carthorse carroll at the back as he is s**t up front

Believable1 Unbelievable3

They have conceded about 50 in pre season haven't they and kennys wasted all the money on midfielders and a donkey striker.

Are chelsea fans worried? No big signings,an ageing team, small squad, youth policy that didn't work, the end has been in sight for a while,or has Roman got a plan, can't spend too much due to new rules ,unless your city and the owner gets his brother to sponsor the club.

leicester fan here been musing over rangers fans wondering why players are ie neil danns are chosing championship clubs before their beloved team. have they stopped to consider that all but the top 2 would struggle to get out of our 4th tier and the top 2 would be mid table championship teams at best
the scottish euro disney league is just that.

Be serious you know that rangers and Celtic would get promoted from the championship might not do as well in the prem but if you don't think rangers would get promoted from the championship your just daft and know nothing about football

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Celtic and Rangers, with English TV money, would do ok in England. Both of them command huge support. Fact is though I don't want them in the English Leagues

an abba classic in honour of FPLG

# Did you see the shame in Malmo?
# I remember long ago a night in Kaunas just like this
# Well the fans were banned in Malmo,
# No humming of the Sash or softly turning over cars
# I could hear all the manky shame
# at home, all call for Ally's head from bars

# They were close for a while in Malmo
# Every hour, every minute seemed to last eternally
# I was so afraid for Malmo
# The jammy shame so often manage somehow to scrape by
# And I'm not ashamed to say
# The longed-for final whistle almost made me cry

# There was something in the air that night,
# A Glesca flight, from Malmo
# It was Rangers oot the Champions League, sans dignity, in Malmo
# Though we never thought that they could lose, their second leg,
# If they lose another game again,
# Fat Paul Le Guen gets banjoed.

blackburn: Samba is likely to leave e-wood to arsenal or spurs and i think in replacement (if he goes arsenal) squallaci and cash and (if he goes spurs) bassong and cash. a new striker is needed after the departures of diouf, santa and benjani i think blackburn should get boltons klasnic of bolton. they should play pederson more as he still has a lot to offer and in my opinion best rovers player before samba.

Leicester to sign Grant Holt for 2m from Norwich.

Source- Daily Mail Online

Just to confirm that Norwich will NOT be selling captain Grant Holt, here is what chief exec David McNally wrote on Twitter today.

David McNally has categorically denied press reports that the club had agreed a fee with Leicester for top scorer and captain Grant Holt.

A national newspaper this afternoon took time out from it's busy schedule of immigrant-bashing and pining for the days of Diana to report that the Championship big-spenders had agreed a fee of around £2m for Holt after being frustrated in their pursuit of Reading's Shane Long.

However something didn't quite add up and McNally was quick to pour cold water on the story via the club's official Twitter account with a simple statement:

David McNally - Absolutely no truth in Daily Mail story saying we've accepted bid for Grant Holt from Leicester. Our captain's not for sale.

And that was the end of that.

Listen just repling to the guy who said about celtic getting beat of swansea.Dont no where u come from but i will take a guess and say england or there abouts.Im taking nothing away from swansea beating us last night well done to them, but to take that as a marker as how celtic or the mob from the other side of the city would do in the epl is totalaly s:::e.To say we would finish mid table at best and would hav to start in the second division, listen m8 your head is wasted big time,u must hav sat up all night thinkin that one up.Give us the revenue the epl teams get you woudnt understand how much bigger celtic could get fact.We would hav to build another 30,000 thousand seats in celtic park which would be a sell out every second week fact.We would attract the same high caliber players as your top 5 atrract and get them fact.We would be challenging for epl within 3 to 4 years no doubt about it and every manager in the epl would to tell u this if given the chance. You need to take a step back and think before u start talking about something you clearly no nothing about ,come and pay us a visit some day and youll realise just what where always talking about.Cmon the hoops.

A cb is needed and cahill would be great but samba looks to be more solid and can lead wiith vermalen at cb but if gibbs is injured vermaelen should move lb.

People might be saying best Championship teams this season are West Ham, Birmingham, Leicester etc...
But i really don't think you can rule out Leeds or Nottingham forrest (im a leeds fan) but both have solid squads that have been upgraded where needed in the squad. Both have great past and fans, big teams. I personally think theres 5/6 teams all going for automatic, and then ANYONE (bar 2 or 3) can push for play-offs. It's going to be an amazing season with unpredicatable results and a lot of twists and turns

A Swansea team who are still finding their feet made the a surprisingly strong Celtic look very average last night, another pointer that The scottish top two would be mid table at best if they joined, if ever it were to happen the only way they could grow in strength would be to start in league 2 and climb the leagues whilst improving, if that were to happen i think after promotion from league 2 everything else may not go to plan, league 1 would be surprising and they may spend more time than planned the championship a shock, by the time they eventually got to the premier league they would be no better than the likes of Sunder land and Newcastle, reasonably big clubs with fanatical support.
But the above does not buy you success

shock for man utd fans

rooney and the little green gaint (little pea)
are to follow fergy to paris st fergy was heard saying that his current squad arnt very good, last season showed that, seasons before if man utd had such a poor away form he wud have hair-dyiered the lot of them, anyway he fancys 1 last challenge (realistic one-which isnt on the cards at utd) the paris boss will swop with fergy, and rooney and little pea will follow uncle fergy, r.i.p man utd ur era is over, personnely i feel fergy is running scared now the mighty lpool have dalgish back

also anyone noticed how fergy is bigging up city, just futher aknowledgement that he knows man utd are on there way out. his getting in his excuses already, even cantona digging city, which again is futher proof how the utd are running scared of city.

Cmon you reds prove all these doubters wrong and finish midtable. We all know the relegation battle is gonna be between Peterborough (lost mackail-smith), Doncaster (i hate billy sharp), Coventry (poor team) , Brighton (lost 2 best players) & Millwall (lost morisson & gained henderson, good dealing).

i think people need to stop with these table predictions now, people are just guessing or goin on what the papers are sayin and probably never even looked at the teams and what they have done, for one barnsley everyone predicts they will go down yet last seanson they finished 17th they have wont all there pre-seasons scorin 15 goals yet still every one says they will go down because they are a so called "small club" thats is absolute tbh because they havent got as much money as other clubs has nothing to do with it ..just look at everton... they have brought in 8 players so far and have been playin well and soo what if they are from lower clubs thats doesnt make a difference again look at everton. i think you should wait untill they play before you judge them the same with doncaster get off there back seriously, bigger clubs and money doesnt mean better clubs look at where sheffield united+wednesday are and where leeds were... it anoys me when write the little teams off hope donny and barnsley show you all up this season..

So can we expect a load of Kocks flocking here today to apologise about their error in posting about the strength of their league can we? I doubt it. Looking at thus years Championship Rangers would be lucky to finish in the top ten. What a great record Rangers have in Europe 4 wins in 23? Next time you sweaties think about posting 'we have champions league football' just think how ridiculous that sounds.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

So true i think rangers have started the season really well start as you mean to go onha ha ha ha .

jordan henderson has told liverpool fans not to compare him to steven gerrard. too late mate, they are so deluded and full of wishful thinking, they think you are god, best, pele all rolled into one, what a shock they got coming, so many 2nd rate players signed and more to come , jose enrique? wow thats gonna win you the league, cant wait to see what all the excuses are, when january comes and liverpool are battling it out for a europa league place with everton.

Believable0 Unbelievable12

Liverpool have been a joke this summer, city, everton and united will be higher than them this season. Chelsea rule.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can feel ur ffear of LFC from here mate
fact u had to comment on it, to me shows ur fear of the return of the mighty lfc, while some clubs buy there way to worldwide statusship, some clubs have planecrashes, liverpool gain worldwide respect though decades of winning, no matter the manager. (point out the plane-crach comment was about man utd, however respect to the victims and family

Agree0 Disagree0

You lot have had to buy to get back to where you say you belong. £100m since January says it all. And you cant even spell CRASH right. Nobody fears you lot.

Chelsea were nothing before a rich russian dude decided he needed a pet project. Fabricated club with fabricated fans.

Fernando torres chelsea's number nine is now at a club where he can fulfill his ambition's not like the trophyless club he came from, your a hasbeen of a football club scouser's, chelsea rule, el nino is king

Agree0 Disagree0

Bet you never thought he was king when he blasted in two against you last season. We've got a replacement for half the price and who's twice as good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez is a good player but he is one ugly man about right for your tin pot football club, he will be gone after two years when he has won nothing. fact.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 years and counting since LFC won the league

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah but you've never won the champions league, ever He'll only go if Barca come in, or if your owner plucks up about 80mill for him, which I wouldnt be suprised if he does. Beat you twice last season, will do it again this season

I Agree about most of that You just missed another team out of the relegation battle BARNSLEY as you have lost your best player in Shackel. I can see Brighton just above relegation zone. Peterborough will struggle could not survive with CMS and will certainly struggle without him. I think Millwall may have a tough season without Morrison same if Doncaster lose Sharp but there no such thing as a one man team Watford may struggle to without Graham. Bottom 3 out of Peterborough Barnsley Brighton Watford Coventry and Crystal Palace. Everyone assumes Doncaster will be relegated but that is based on last year and everyone doesnt realise the injuries they had in second half of the season.

When I said barnsley were going to finish mid table i was hoping, theyre going to battle against relegation, i was just disagreeing with the people saying they are certainties to get relegated. As for the other teams they werent one men teams but the players they lost will severely impact theyre survival chances, eg. Doncaster scraped thru last season and if they lose Sharp, im sorry but I cant see Coppinger scoring 15 goals, and whose left up front Hayter? and Billy Sharp is a sleaze.

At least Barnsley are playing a new game style, even though they lost Shackell, we did get Rob Edwards who used to captain Blackpool and was theyre best player a couple of seasons ago. And the problem with our defence last season was the lack of depth when Foster was injured a lot. Weve also got one of the best young players in the league in Addison. We just need another winger ot twoo.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Rob Edwards?

Pin your hopes on the likes of him, you will be in the bottom three.

I tell you what peeps, ive looked at these so called predicted leagues that a few Mystic Megs have posted, and ive noticed that the majority of people have put Swansea City last. I think Swansea City are going to shock a lot of people. I know they are in a harder league now but they are a great footballing side who have a very intelligent manager in Brendan Rodgers. And before anyone says Blackpool were a good footballing side look what happend to them. I just want to point out that Swansea have a much stronger squad than what Blackpool had when they got promoted. And better quality players all over the pitch, the only Blackpool player that would have got in Swansea side would have been Charlie Adams. {Ed003's Note - Really?}.

I'm pretty sure a few others from Blackpool's Premier League squad would make the Swansea team. For example, David Vaughan, DJ Campbell and Matthew Gilks (who was linked with Swansea earlier in the transfer window) would be a few that deserve to play or are still playing for a premier league team (Like Swansea).

This same main posting has been on here word for word within the last week. Its still just as ridiculous as when i first saw it. idiot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but the original post is right (almost), Vaughn?, i would like him he is a good player for a club like us BUT, we have an supurb midfield and he would only be a squad member, we have Britton, who is back to his best, joe allen, when he is sold to a bigger club he will be our biggest ever fee recieved, Dobbie who amazing at the moment behind the striker, Gower who was a revelation last season, orlandi who s touch and flair is pretty to watch when he is playing well, kemy augustien has finally been given a chance and looks as if he will not give up his place in the team without a fight, ( i d love to see bodde in a swans shirt again but i think he s had it, but if he did come back as half as good as he was then we would still be blessed), this does not include our wide men of dyer, sinclair routledge, (pending, wou i think will play the best football of his carerer for us because of our style) with butler as a back up, this I m probabaly a little biast but is the best selection of wide men outside the prems top six. dont forget Pratley could not cement a place in our midfield last year.
DJ cambell, how many goals dis he score last year?, no better than what we have.

Gilks, yes, I do like him but we dont have a keeper so most sides in the championship could make that statement and it would be hard to argue.

The swans are staying up.

To the Barnsley fan who confidently states 'Coventry (poor team)'...

03.01.2011 Barnsley 2-1 Coventry City
23.10.2010 Coventry City 3-0 Barnsley
09.01.2010 Coventry City 3-1 Barnsley
15.08.2009 Barnsley 0-2 Coventry City
21.04.2009 Coventry City 1-1 Barnsley
16.08.2008 Barnsley 1-2 Coventry City
02.02.2008 Coventry City 4-0 Barnsley
11.08.2007 Barnsley 1-4 Coventry City
17.03.2007 Coventry City 4-1 Barnsley
28.10.2006 Barnsley 0-1 Coventry City

You've been turned over 8 times in the last 10 meetings by this poor team (conceding 25 and scoring 7 in the process). Coventry's squad is indeed currently poor. But, barring last season's fluke (your only victory in the previous 10), we appear to be marginally less poor than you.

Snappy comeback, simpleton. Google, cut, paste, post... took me thirty seconds and I was back to my life (which doesn't involve working in a pit and supporting a Happy Shopper football team). Coventry = poor team. Barnsley = worse, it seems. Any more pearls of wisdom or are bigger boys making you look silly on enough posts now?
