As people keep saying, there would be far less grief coming your way if you didn't act so cocky and arrogant just because you stayed up. Being gracious when you succeed is one of the most admirable traits in a human being.

To try and clarify the Marlon Pack situation for once and for all:

His contract is in the process of expiring. He has been offered a new contract by CTFC but seemingly unlikely he will take it up.

In that event he is in essentials a free agent, and it is stipulated in the Football League rules that he can join whichever club he wishes. It is not up to CTFC to decide.

Once he has chosen a club and agreed terms, a compensation package must be agreed between CTFC and the new club because he is under 24. Thus any club negotiating with him would be aware that they would need to stump up compensation as well. Usually the amount would be lower than six figures and it is highly unlikely a League Two side could expect to receive six figures.

A few rumours have focused on alternatives such as a permanent player swap (e. g. Pack for Luke Rooney) or a swap in return for a loan player (e. g. Pack for Tubbs). Both are permissible under Football League rules but it would be down to the clubs to negotiate the details once Pack has chosen his club.

Hope this clarifies things a little and ends the torrent of rumours about his "transfer fee" etc. Also PLEASE can we not have daily rumours about where he's going to go? He's been linked with a whole host of clubs and at present there is not one source that can confirm for definite where he is going, I would not even imagine we will see movement for a few weeks yet anyway. I now prepare for the huge pile of replies telling me where he is "definitely" going.

You 'love to hate' us in the same way as I 'love to hate' Man United ('cos they win everything and their fans are literally everywhere!') but you'd miss us if we went away. Reckon I see the word 'deluded' more often than I see names.

People have a go a Southampton fans on here because they think that just because they stayed up they now have the right to boast, brag and carry on like they own the world of football.
