Stoke need Wingers and Strikers and fast. What is Hughes playing at? Etherington is injury prone, Kightly isn't good enough and Pennant can be trouble. Apparently were after Sinclair which is good but I doubt we will get him. I don't think that Crouch and Jones will fit into the team well next year either. What we need to do is get Hoilett in then go for Sinclair, also taarabt on loan which I have heard might be a bit of good business. As for strikers I would like to see Mame Biram Diouf or Emmanuel Emenike or Darren Bent is what we need.

Also need a right back after that clown Wilko has been sent off in a friendly match

Has Liam O'Brien gone? If he has, do the board know about it?
I've been on hols, so might have missed the Hibs PR machine kicking into action and telling us

Matt tubbs has sealed his loan move to Rotherham from Bournemouth. Expect bournemouth to announce a new singing sometime next week, Eddie would not have let him go if he did not have a new striker in line.

Not a rumour but just something interesting. I was told by Steve Evans that Raheem Sterling of Liverpool almost joing Rotherham on a season long loan before last season. What a signing that would have been for them haha! {Ed001's Note - he was talking out of his backside, the lad was not eligible for a loan before the start of last season as he was too young.}

For those out there that are unhappy with the lack of players been brought in to Middlesbrough, I think you are all maybe being a little short sighted. We have a strong squad. There might be 1 or 2 players brought in yet but if there isn't that doesn't mean we can't have a good season. People are slating Gibson a lot on here about lack of investment! He built an amazing academy that is full of talent, why not use it? if we use our own players from the academy its a no lose situation, the value of the player goes up and also the reputation of the club for producing the talented youngster. We recently had too many players on high wages that we needed to move on and now that we have done that we can focus on rebuilding a new team. let's not forget we have a strong first team and add to that Joszef Varga and Dean Whitehead. Both aggressive and hard working team players, these are great signings also great leaders to have around the younger lads. Look at it like this; A youngster introduced to the first team is like a new signing, the fans become excited by seeing a local kid from the town achieving his dreams, we love that! Look at the team:

Goalkeepers:
Steele-Ripley-Leutwiler-Turnbull?

Full Backs:
Friend-Halliday-Parnaby-Hoyte-Bennett-Reach

Cetre Backs:
Woodgate-Williams-Gibson-Hines-Burgess-Morris

Midfield:
Leadbitter-Whitehead-Haroun-Varga-Smallwood

Attackers:
Ledesma-Carayol-Emnes-Park-Williams-Jones

Strikers:
Jutkiewicz-Main-Wyke

With that squad we could easily work between a 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2 formation. The signings brought in add a bit of metal in midfield that we lacked last season. Like I said maybe 1 0r 2 players will be brought in but even if they don't that team will be strong enough to aim for a top 6 finish. Now even a few of these players will be loaned out and a few players can be rotated into different positions but overall its a pretty strong squad. let's wait and see, I for one am excited to see the lads surprise a few this season.

personally on selling Jason steel I would accept and bid over 5 million a goal keeper is not gunna win you promotion out of the championship where as 3 or 4 players that you can get for the kind of money can 2 strikers attacking midfielder and a defender plus we have a good back up keeper in turnbull who would get in any championship team utb

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Very ambitious for 4 quality players at around 1. 25m each. Steele is a very good keeper and his value will go up as PL teams are paying attention.

Sam Allardyce confirms his interest in Kalou and Remy and, yes you've guessed it, he is pondering, mulling, weighing up, readying to bid. TOO LATE as always. If your going to bid THEN BID and stop messing around. No team can afford to ponder, mull, weigh up options because by the time they do, the player will move be bought by someone else and West ham are in desperate need of at least 2 more strikers. Dig deep and go get Remy. He;s winger come striker what West ham need. Stop mucking around pondering, weighing up offers etc

Believable0 Unbelievable0

My dear chap, you're getting a little too over excited. Have a lie down and leave it to Mr Allardyce to sort out. He's quite a good manager, you know.

Loic remy and kalou would be good if West ham could get them both. Why do West ham not offer Matt Taylor, Ricardo Vaz Te and £3m for Loic Remy. This way QPR get 2 decent championship players and a few quid and West ham get the Striker come winger that they are after. Ok, so Remy has a court case pedning but I'm sure all that would be investigated prior to any transfer dealings

For all you West Ham fans out there, big sam and the board are doing the best they can with funds available to them. I am sure before the season starts we will have a couple more additions to the squad abd I have every confidence they will be the right additions. Peter Odemwingie is close to a move apparently and Vydra has said he would like to join on loan and if we could get both wages wouldn;t be massive. My biggest worry is that whoever we get won;t be used to his team mates, how we play and he won;t have had any pre season matches so lacks fitness. We needed to get deals tied up so they could be part of pre-season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Forget about Vydra.

He has been named in Udineses Europa League squad.

CAn somebody please explain why SAM ALLARDYCE who quite clearly needs strikers is still WEIGHING up a move for strikers. Vydra is reported to want to join the hammers even if on loan and Odemwingie is going for a song so what's to Weigh up, mull over, consider, Ponder. No wonder nobody ever signs for west ham cause they take to long

love the sight lads, and buzz of some of the posts but wot is everyone smoking because if madrid get bale 6yr contract according to el bulls. t, ronaldo defo won't leave and will sign new 3 yr deal same money with buy out clause 30 -40 mill. so we should just concentrate on bale and offer 80, 90 million or even cash plus players, just give that wrong un levy what he wants and then pick up ronaldo nxt yr for 30-40 mil as he won't sign a new 1 without bale to partner him an isco to better match messi, neymar and iniesta. we b fooked again cheers to the penny pinching glazers that's all folks

Is anyone else worried about next season. I am a Stoke fan and I fear for our survival, we all know we do not have great class in our team yes we have Nzonzi, Adam, Jerome, Walters but that is about all when it comes to premier league quality and Hughes has only spent 3mil so far and only 1 of the 3 is a player for this season and is another defender. We have no proven wingers, Kightly is poor, Pennant is trouble and Etherington has a reccuring injury and our strike force is poor with Crouch who is old and Jones who doesn't give 100% plus we've just lost out on Oliveira and Diouf. We need 2 wingers and 2 strikers I think. I would like to see David Hoilett, Garath McCleary, Emmanuel Emenike which I believe would cost around 20-25mil.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Do you seriously think they can afford that kind of money and the wages to suit.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have given up worrying my friend. I work on the basis that hopefully there will be three teams who will get less points than us this year. Tony Pulis has done what the labour chancellor supposedly did, he spent the money that Mr Coates had available and has now gone. The chairman seems to indicate that the club has to be self funding going forward and the only saleable asset is probably Asmir Begovic and there does not seem to have been any enquiries for him this summer. We have no real money to spend so it will be a tough season. Hopefully the football will be somewhat better but the end results will probably be about the same
