Im a sheffield wednesday fan & I am a season ticket holder. I was keeping a look out at Millwalls Liam Trotter at the weekend and do not beliebe he is worth all the hype he is getting. Did very little during the game, I know its only one game but it was dissapointing.
As for wednesday, with the expected arrival of Ross Barkley we look pretty much set up for a competative and comfertable season. Still think we are a defender short for the fact you dont concede 2 goals in every game with a stable defence.
I do expect Jones and Mandaric to suprise us with a shock move for a high profile player.
Forward Together Wednesday Fans!

Due too reports on bbc.co.uk/football, carl fletcher is set too make a couple of signings before fridays deadline.. Also its 3league games into the season people, its not a time too slander the team, there is some good quality in that team, few additions like a solid cb too compete with purse & blanch & a centre mid that can supply, enforce & pick out a player/pass is what we deffo need! Northampton is where our season has too start! #pafc&fletcher

So Zat Knight wants Coyle to try and re-sign NRC. No thanks he won't be welcome back at Bolton. He is not as good as he thinks.

Bolton will have to cough £3 million for Jay Spearing, if they pay that plus his wages why didn't they Sanchez surely he wouldn't have cost that much.

We need some bite in midfield and quickly.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

HAHA 3million for jay spearing he isnt worth three pence.

Agree0 Disagree0

He looks like a Bolton player though.

Moussa Dembele deserves a top four club at the very least. Not even a Fulham fan but he's phenomenol.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I think he would rather warm a bench than get relegated with a poor West Ham side

Cannot believe none of the top 4-6 teams in the prem haven't showed a real interest in Iker Munian of Bilbao. Vision, ability, composure, the lads got everything and is only 21/22.

What Southampton did in the last 2 seasons was historic and considering our financial situation of 3 years ago it was quite a fantastic achievement. But ask anyone who knows their football and they will know that the team that gets you up and out of the championship is not the team that will keep you up in the Premier.Leeds did this when they came up and went on to win the league in 91/92 and so on since then have other promoted clubs .Norwich brought in at least 5 new players last season and stayed up comfortably.
i think anyone who saw us lose to Middlesboro or reading at the end of last season as we stumbled over the line knew then that we had flaws in the squad and in the teams play .We all knew then .We have had all summer to address this knowledge .
Do the management at St Marys not know this ? Of course they did and do .But will they buy the players we need for the positions that are blatantly obvious, left back ,center half and a right winger who can up and down for attack and defence are so badly needed now ? If not why ? Wigan Reading Norwich West ham and Villa are all our immediate rivals to go down this year .
Reading said last week they now have adequate cover for every position in their 25 man squad and have finished their spending.
Saints are considered to be the 3 rd most richest or at least most financially viable club in England .
We have the best youth academy behind Man united .We have top prem players playing at other top clubs who came from Southampton.
But are Saints like Blackpool, refusing to invest in new players and pay higher wages and get players in on contracts that could hurt them in the next few years should we go down .Or can we not just not spot a good player who can do a good job for us while we find our feet in the Prem?
Jeff Cameron from the USA went to Stoke.Jarvis to West Ham.They all seem to fall through .Why ?
Huddlestone ?Dawson ? All good pros at least speak to them and show us Saints fans you have a clue about surviving our first season back . .
Ask Laurie Mcmemeny what his blue print was for keeping Saints in the top 6 season after season and Chris Nichol and the need for good old reliable steady pros .
Sky will pay Premier clubs the highest amount of revenue in history next season .
But are we happy being a yo yo club like Blackpool could be for the next few years just going up and down like West Brom?
I used to work for big kit supplier and live in the states now ,the game has huge numbers here so why arnt we increasing the Saints brand globally ? A USA player / Mexican ? Japanese or Korean player ?
We seem to go to the same old well time and time again.
As a kit supplier in the past to all the top clubs ,we always preferred to have a team going for promotion from the championship than a team fighting relegation. The product sold showed that .But come on Saints .We are SOUTHAMPTON.
Give us the chance to retain our pride as fans for what we have achieved these last 2 years and show some respect to those that have followed the club and played for the club all these years .
Let us as fans enjoy our time here in the Prem, even if it is only for a season .Let us go down with our heads held high and get some respect from our fellow premier clubs .think of the names that played for this club .Le god .Payne.Channon,Keagan,Alan Ball !
Lets not be remembered like a Derby or Barnsley.
We have Man U Sunday ,Arsenal and then Everton .Our season is already highly in danger of exploding and the clubs sprit could be broken after these 5 games .We have 5 days of transfer window left .Adkins positivity is inspiring and the players desire to play football is admirable but Wigan came to Saints in a must win game already on Saturday and guess what ? Wigan showed us Saturday- learn quick or you will be ruthlessly punished and not be in the Premier too long .

All medical's take place over here. It is unheard of for us to go and give him his medical at his current club. Otherwise sounds plausible. I think we'll pull this one off actually. As for Cortese, I don't know why some people give him such stick. He is running the club sensibly and is trying to bring the names in to ensure safety. Would people prefer the Lowe days? The days of mediocrity where we struggled to stay up each and every year?
Cortese will be judged by me come midnight Friday. We need three signings minimum to make us competitive.

To get even close to signing Ramirez cortese has done brilliantly, personally I think he's a financial genius

Top clubs in Italy, Spain and England need to be looking at players from the Osasuna side.
Marc Bertran, Francisco Punal (despite his age), Goalkeeper Andres Fernandez and Alvaro Cejudo are all worthy of a chance with a top club and should be watched this year.
The Spanish club have also recruited very well with Alejandro Arribas, Sisi and Roland Lamah. All three are too good not to be playing Champions League football and proved how good they were against Barcelona on their home debut last night.

Liverpool really do need to get rid of Lucas Leiva, Martin Kelly and Sebastian Coates.
Lucas, for me, is obviosuly a class player but is injury prone and when he does play a high amount of games on the trot, seems to lose form. Was surprised Liverpool didn't ship him out last summer.
Martin Kelly has ran out of potential now and is not good enough for England. He's now 22 and should be playing for the likes of Swansea, Norwich and Sunderland. Get rid now Rodgers because he's not good competition for Glen Johnson.
Another who should go is Sebastian Coates. Obviously got that little bit of class in him and but isn't good enough for a club as big as Liverpool. Should be featuring for the likes of Sunderland and Stoke. Liverpool need a centre half, if not two.
Liverpool need to keep hold of Luis Suarez. He ran ring round Man City yesterday and is worth to get in any team around the world. Long term deal must be on the horizon.
I also don't know why Steven Gerrard is at Anfield still. Everytime he plays, he seems to be world class and should be playing for Real Madrid or Chelsea. Superb player and would have been England captain a long time ago if he left Merseyside.
They've also got two good younger players. If Jonjo Shelvey played more, he would be in contention for an England place. Superb prospect and has so much potential.
Another is obviously Raheem Sterling. The 17 year old winger is good enough to get in any team now, never mind his future ability. A future world star in the making.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Youre has beens top 8 if lucky

Agree4 Disagree0

What a load of cobblers, how can a 22 yo run out of potential, you say a club as big as liverpool in one breath and then say gerrard is to good for liverpool, which he isn't , he is no longer world class, and sterling hasnt proven anything yet, i think you are a muppet

Agree6 Disagree0

Mario Balotelli and Carlos Tevez are world class strikers. If they were to get service, they'd both easily get 30+ league goals a season.
I do feel Robero Mancini needs to get rid of Kolo Toure though. He wouldn't get in most Premier League sides and should have moved to Turkey as that would have been a good move for him.
The worrying thing for City fans is Vincent Kompany doesn't look half the player he looked last season. Seems to be giving the ball away a lot more and always seems to be flat footed. Obviously a class player but at the moment, doesn't look good enough to play for the likes of Chelsea, City, United, Tottenham and Arsenal. City really do need a centre half.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

What rubbish , kompany is still the best in the prem, they've only played 2 games for f***s sake

Lionel Messi is world class!! Doesn't play well at all gaianst Osasuna and still manages to bag trwo goals. Unbelievable talent and is worthy to be named one of the best players in the world.
Really surprised at how good Gerard Pique is. The Spanish defender has come on so much in the last two years and is a fantastic player. His passing ability for a defender is admirable and would get in any team in the world. I don't know why Man United got rid of him so early.
Andres Iniesta is also world class. Don't notice a lot of him as he's all about through balls and short passing but his movement off the ball is extraordinary. Better player then both Xavi and Cesc Fabregas and will be a key player if the LA Ligas side are going to win trophies.
Winger Pedro is now 25 and looks so mature. World class player and should be playing more. Would get into any other side in the world but has fierce competition.
Cristian Tello is another winger, but is of different class to Pedro. Tello is absolutely amazing and will be one of the best players in the world once Messi and Ronaldo starts getting older.
The new Barca manager does need to thing about getting rid of both Sergio Busquets and Carles Puyol. Puyol is a club legend but is far too slow to compete at the highest level and Busquets gets knocked off the ball too easy for a defensive midfielder. easily get £20 million for them both and would consider raising funds.
