Having already worked his magic with players like COLEMAN, BANNAN, SHELVLEY, PHILLIPS, PUNCHEON, McMANAMAN & INCE…..Kenny see's BLACKPOOL as the perfect place for the development of the midfielder.

I'm a Norwich City fan and I would like to say that I would not like to see Snodgrass arrive from Leeds United.
Now that might sound strange since he is a quality act who could get into our team with ease. However, having just nicked their captain I feel sorry for their fans. Couldn't care less about Bates but their fans don't deserve this.
Unfortunately it wasn't very long ago we had a team full of loan players with no heart, a manager with no ideas and people at the top who had no love for the club. While I want Norwich to do as well as possible, I'd hate for Leeds to end up going backwards. Teams with their fan base and history belong in the top flight.
So for now I'd love Snodgrass to stay there, fire them to playoff glory (or better) and we'll play them in the premier league next season.

Glad to hear there are some decent Norwich fans out there. Well said.

Phillips wants to join Norwich, to work under Sir Paul again he doesn't want to stay at ac club that can't even get 12,000 for a home game. Like how u say we carnt get 12,000 for a home game wen we get around 13,000 to 14,000 a game like he would go to a club that will b going down this season

Believable3 Unbelievable2

The transfer window doesn't close for a few days so why would any club, player or agent, treat a transfer as if it were deadline day? Working through the night when they could all have a nice kip and do the deal in the morning? I think you've had a little bit too much caffeine.

-Watford are linked with a move for Shrewsbury striker James Collins. James Collins is wanted by the hornets to form a decent partnership with striker Marvin Sordell. Watford to offer £550k and midfielder Sean Murray on loan till end of season.

-Watford are also looking at Inverness CT winger Jonny Hayes. Jonny Hayes is linked with the hornets because they need a very decent winger and Hayes is the likely candidate to join Watford. Watford will offer £500k for the Irishman.

Why would Watford pay 550k for someone with 5 months left on their contract - if the panel value him - max 300k + sell on - just look at the Danny Graham valuation and he had scored a few!

Also £500k for an Irish footballer playing in a pub league - no way - max £250k

Shrewsbury won't accept £250k, It'd have to be at least double that for them to start considering. They're not in a pub league- it's a fully professional league, shows how much you know.

Stability, no rash transfers, more of the same..words all been used in statements. Yet you are still convinced the club will go and throw up to 7/8 mill at Jordan Rhodes. Reading are set to sign Jordan Rhodes. Rumours have been rife all week that Reading were leading the way for the strikers signature, but the club have remained tight lipped.

Evening Post reporter Jonny Fordham has been ahead of the game all afternoon with the announcements of Jason Roberts and Polish U21 midfielder Tomasz Cywka signing today.

Fordham recently tweeted "Off to see a man about a dog."

This is before the Royals press conference set to take place this evening. It's only 2+2 but Huddersfield are nicknamed The Terriers!

Setting the record straight.

Rhodes will not be going anywhere till the summer.

Despite the million rumours, Liverpool will sign a maximum of 2 new players this window, one of which will not be Sow and will not sell Carroll yet.

Tevez will be going to AC Milan last minute, well known that AC play hardball and will wait till last minute if they have to knowing that City has to sell now or get no price in the summer for a player who hasnt played in over 6 months.

Lastly, QPR will not sign Arshavin... Ever.

Reading Football Club are pleased to have signed Polish under 21 international Tomasz Cywka.

Tomasz, 23, can play just behind the striker or on either wing, and joins until the end of the season on a free transfer from Derby County. The Royals also have an option to extend his contract beyond this summer.

Tomasz scored against the Royals at Madejski Stadium for Derby earlier in the season, and he turned down a 3.5-year contract offer in his native Poland to sign for Reading.

He gives Brian McDermott an additional attacking option, and trained with his new teammates for the first time today. He will take squad number 41.

Chairman Sir John Madejski said, "I'd like to welcome Tomasz to Reading Football Club, this move gives him the opportunity to show everyone his talents."

Tomasz moved to England in 2006 when joining Premier League side Wigan soon after his 18th birthday. When on the verge of breaking into the first team he suffered an unfortunate injury, and he then moved to Derby County, initially on loan. He has made25(+17) appearances for the Rams, scoring five times and weighing in with some important assists. Mr Reading

eading Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of striker Jason Roberts from Blackburn Rovers.

Jason has signed an 18-month contract at Madejski Stadium; the terms of the transfer remain undisclosed.

He takes squad number 33 and will go straight into the squad for Saturday's home game with Bristol City.

Jason is a vastly experienced centre forward, with more than £7million worth of transfer fees being spent on him throughout in his career.

He has scored 157 goals in his professional career, and has eight years of Premier League experience.

He has been in the top flight continually since 2005, so this signature represents a coup for Reading.

Chairman Sir John Madejski said, "I am delighted that a man of Jason Roberts' calibre has decided to sign for Reading Football Club. He will bring enormous experience to the club, and I wish him every success in helping his new teammates."

Jason, who celebrated his 34th birthday yesterday, earned an MBE for his Jason Roberts Foundation which helps young people in both the UK and Grenada, for whom he has played a number of games at international level.Mr Reading

can i just point out to the rangers fans appearing on here, how can jelavic be classed as a better striker than hooper due to 2 reasons!
1. hoopers goals to games ratio against rangers is a great deal higher than jelavic v celtic (think jelavic only scored 2 against celtic in rangers shirt!!)
2. how many did jelavic score in europe this season against rotten european teams, while hooper held his own against good teams (ath. madrid and udinese)

this says to me hoopers more prolific against a better standard of defence.

As for rumours - it will be the usual kepp us waiting but i doubt anything else will be done. lennon seems to think bangura will come good.

Surely MM would love to bring in some fresh faces to help him keep the club up and ultimately keep his job. If Onuha was only £2.5m for example why did we not go after him? I am starting to think all is not well behind the scenes at Molineux, when a club finds itself inour situation you would expect us to take a risk or two in pursuit of retaining our PL status.

Carroll made his debut in a Newcastle side that was struggling in the Prem. Hooper is older too, his stats up until the age of 22 are far worse. His first few seasons with Southend, he made 32 appearances for them and scored just 2 goals, though he did score goals in the lower leagues out on loan. It was only on moving to Scunthorpe, at the age of 20, that he actually started scoring goals regularly, in League 1. You can't compare the two fairly, purely on the stats you have posted.}

Former Board member Gary Hoffman is close to securing the buy out of Coventry City from current owners SISU.

SISU were forced to curtail spending after fans failed to support their club in sufficient numbers to allow the club to breakeven. SISU became tired of sustaining a mounting deficit.

Hoffman's consortium has a £30 million plan: £10 million to cover operating losses, another £10 million to help acquire half the company that runs the Ricoj stadium and were going to use the remaining £10 million to strengthen the squad - however, Hoffman will offer £5 million of that to buy off SISU.

Hoffman's consortium want a higher profile name to be manager and ex-Cov manager, Peter Reid, is top of their wanted list. Andy Thorn will return to being Chief Scout. Ex-Cov favourite Bobby Gould is likely to be Chairman or Director of Football.

With only £5 million to strengthen the squad, Reid will only be able to use a fraction of that on actual transfer fees and will be forced to rely on free transfers and loans because most of the £4 million will be devoted to signing on fees and wages.

The deal is scheduled to be finalised at the end of January and should feature in the media towards the end of this week.

(1) (8)

Off course it will! Now go and have a lie down!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why would CCFC want Peter Reid when there is lot better managers currently available i.e Neil Warnock, Billy Davis etc.

Futhermore any true CCFC fan would see that Andy Thorn has been not been given the opportunity in terms of finances and should be.

---------------------------------------------

Yeah, like Coventry in League One will be able to attract Warnock or Billy Davies.

Even if this takeover occurs, Coventry will struggle to find a manager with any decent background.

It may well be that the club has to look at the likes of Peter Reid or Bobby Gould.

Poisoned chalice. League One club. No money. High expectations

Had an interesting chat with some of the blue few the other day, and they were to a man blaming the FA due diligence for their plight. None could not see the Club should have been more responsible and apply their own due diligence and thorough vetting of any potential investors. Some of these few didn't even realise this would be the third time in administration ‚Äì the first being I think at the end of the nineties when barrow boy Venables bought the club for £1. (Over valued if you ask me) The cost to the club for decades of underhand dealing and money laundering will now come to haunt them, and the stigma of these events will do little to attract new owners in any shape or form. No true football supporter would wish any club to capitulate, and we can only hope that Portsmouth survive in some part or fashion ‚Äì otherwise we will be left no-one to take the pi55 out of‚Ķ‚ĶCOYRs

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Well said mate, forgetting all the banter for a second, no true footy fan should be gloating over the capitulation or another club. I don't care what the history is, no fan deserves to see his team go out of business.

west ham have £7m bid rejected by
Rangers and as previously reported
there is now 5 days of this transfer
window left and hammers still no further
forward than they were at the start.
All hype G&S were looking for. West ham
now turned attentions to kalou......yeah really
and what about solving the obvious
winger, striker and creative midfielder
problems they got...........Play offs
at best once cardiff and saints
get promoted, and birmingham the
likely team top join them

Blimey, you really have an axe to grind don't you? It seems that you're (meant to be) a West Ham fan, i bet you're a bundle of laughs to sit next to!

Liverpool want Xherdan Shaqiri, James Forrest and Welliton to spice up their attack next season while young goalkeeper Alex Smithies is also a target, moves will be made in the summer. Liverpool have been told by Shaqiri's representatives that he wants to join them next summer, Shaqiri apparently rejected a move to Galatasary today. Liverpool are not planning on signing another central midfielder as Daglish has faith that come the start of next season with Gerrard,Lucas,Adam,Henderson,Spearing and Shelvey fit Liverpool will be much stronger.
