The coming season's Premier League already looks like a two horse race. City will not be up for repeating last season's performances. Arsenal are no longer realistic title challengers. Liverpool are nowhere near top four quality. Spurs are about to appoint AVB or Blanc, neither of whom have what it takes to succeed at the very top of the Premier League. Champions will be Man Utd or Chelsea. Place your bets now. {Ed003's Note - I'm going for Reading,Southampton or West Ham ;) }

Agree3 Disagree0

Dont like evans so no from me there. ward looked terrible for wolves and ireland so no again. and you're clearly not a reading fan or else you'd know gylfi wont play at cm we would go 4411 or 451 to fit him in, not that i believe for one second that we will get him back

Good job you dont pick the reading team.
Ward is awful for wolves, so for 3million I'd give you johnson aswel! He also isnt a RB, he not even a defender!

We keep seeing rumours on here about how Reading are going to sign Chelsea players on loan for the season. Not sure really that I would want them at Mad Stad. Chelsea (as are Man City, and Man Utd) are full of Prima Donnas that know little about being part of a team and I think a player like that - albeit a talented player - would upset the ethos that is Reading, and interfere with the team mentality. One of the things that made Reading great the past couple of seasons is the team ethic - every body from the players and manager right through the club to the shop staff and hospitality team is treated as part of the team, and it works. Why upset it by putting someone in that is not used to playing in that sort of environment?

Not saying Defoe is the right man... but we definatly need experience, So how the hell can any one say wages too much... you pay for what you get.,cause you are going to pay more for experienced premiership player that has been there for years..No doubt Jay will be on the money as all last years championship players cause he has no more experience than them!!! I am Saints through and through and wish others will stop dreaming that a bunch of 20 year olds and Championship players will keep us up....DID YOU WATCH MATCH OF THE DAY by any chance through the season and see what we are up against!!

ha ha ha ha. According to Daily Star little reading offer 2 million plus Sean Morrison to Huddersfield for Jordan Rhodes. That makes Morrison worth about 5 million. I think not. If you cant afford what hes worth butt out. And by the way, if Huddersfield really do want Morrison they can afford to cough up any amount reading want.

Believable9 Unbelievable9

Rhodes is worth about £4mil. No more. Stop the delusion Huddersfield fans. Rhodes is not an £8 mil rated premiership wonder striker, but a league one striker (albeit a good one).

Agree3 Disagree0

Wow, the telegraph recently did a piece on messis wages and how if he were to leave barca only city reading and possibly chelsea could afford his wages (i would have thought qpr could too but i dont think they were mentioned). so reading could easily afford rhodes, wont be forking out 10 odd million for a league 1 player. anyways if a deal was to be stuck it will most likely be undisclosed

Agree2 Disagree1

Little? We are bigger than Huddersfield. We are offering 5 mil plus Morrison. You won't get the amount your chairman is saying.

Agree0 Disagree0

One of the arsenal owners has more money than abramovich ..shows how much you no

Lol wow you pick apart what i say but dont have a reply to the fact reading can EASILY afford rhodes, just wow

To Ed and every person hating on Reading right now.

Do not judge our fanbase on some naive fools that have no idea about our plans to become a Premier League mainstay. We will not be splashing out cash and most of the money spent is going on the clubs infrastructure. You can not blame us for being excited when finally we are in a financial situation where we can keep our best players and add to the team instead of selling like we have had to in the past. If it was happening to the team you supported, you would be just as excited as we are. Yes we are a small club, but we aspire to more and it is a work in progress. Every big club out there started as a small club.

As for the Sigurdsson transfer saga. We have offered more money to Sigurdsson than Liverpool, but Liverpool is clearly a more attractive place and no other clubs are realistically in the running. He only has 6 more days to decide on his future until Hoffenheim cancel any ongoing negotiations.

TrueLoyalRoyal {Ed001's Note - I am not hating on Reading, I quite like Reading myself, their staff used to be very friendly and helpful.}

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Come home Gylfi! We want you back so much, that's why we are prepared to offer such a lucrative contract to you. You had a great working relationship with McDermott and the fans worship you.

We never wanted to sell you to Hoffenheim in the first place it was just that we couldn't afford to keep you back then.

Anton Zingarevich has big plans for the future and we want you to be the main man at the front of it all, leading us into a new era for Reading Football Club.
