Albert adomah from Bristol city as cover for Kebe and jobi, benayoun also a good idea, Michael Owen would be a class, however unlikely signing, and bring in bertrand on loan

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Albert adomah will not go anywere as cover if he goes he will want to be playing as first choice, he is a quality player. Are Reading buying everyone for there Prem Campain.

Well. We never did get to the bottom of the ipswich millwall debate and never will. But millwall did win both gsmes scoring 7 and conceding just the ond. That suggests they are. The best team at the moment. I have to admit ipswich have more fans, although most of them had left by 80 mins on saturday so by the final whistle milleall actually had more. Friendly bunch though. Anyway. See you next season. John

Coventry city will be liquidated after relegation to league one , owners sisu are after the 3-4 million still left and won't sell to Gary Hoffman, administration is not an option for the owners as saving the club is far from there minds and recouping as much money as they can before closing the club down .

What an exciting end to the season, Manchester derby could settle the title favourites now they are both in with a chance again but Man City have a very difficult game at Newcastle even if they beat united in derby game. Be nice to see Newcastle in the champions league and i hope they make it. Spurs, spent heavy and Liverpool almost 120m to qualify BUT Newcastle have been sensible and have excelled. Liverpool? Miles away from the top 6 teams in this division, mid table team now.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

This season spurs spent less than newcastle

portsmouth to sell liam lawrence, luke varney, stephen henderson, jason pearce, greg halford and benjani.
portsmouth signed several players from de academy.
the first team for 2012/13 will be :
1-ashdown
37-tallack
3-rocha
26-ben haim
31-webster
4-mokoena
6-mullins
2-ward
8-norris
9-futacs
27-kanu

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Sorry Mate think you can add Norris, Mullins, Ben Haim, Ward, Mokoena and Futacs to the list of players leaving Pompey. Kanu has not been fit for most of the season so what makes you think he will be a part of you next season. They will have about 5 first teams players, You say promote from youth team, no disrespect not exactly gifted in that department are you, any decent youth products you do have will also be sold on.
Look when are you Pompey fans going to realise unless somone buys you and clears all your debts, you are in danger of going down another league next season.
I really think from a outsider looking in best thing for you is to shut up shop and start again, bit like Wimbledon did.

Manchester United should set up a deal with a lower league team (Hartlepool would be a good option) to send a few youth players there on loan (Man U still playing a chunk of the wages) each year to help development. Man united would benefit as they would be giving there youth regular playing time to develop and then fight into the united squad and Hartlepool would benefit as they would get some great prospects each year at reduced costs to help improve and better the club

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Are you a Pools fan by any chance?

Saints fan here, first of all congrats to Reading for winning the Championship timed there run to perfection. Also congrats to Pompey for there wonderful season.
As for Saints lets be honest we should beat Coventry at home but nothing is certain in football, i really hope Leicsester do West Ham on Monday if not it will be nervy thats for sure. I know this sounds silly but i am kind of glad we have faultered in recent times because it now proves to Cortese we need to improve our squad allot IF we are to beat Coventry next week, even the likes of Fonte who at the begining of the season looked an absoulout rock in defense have been terrible lately. We have got probable 4-5 players who are capaple of stepping up to the Prem IMO. COYR
Come On You Foxes

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Bit of a knee jerk reaction there mate. We do need to strengthen again but one game, which was finely balanced, will have no effect whatsoever on Cortese's planning.

Agree0 Disagree0

What do you mean one game Bristoll city home and away Leicsester home and away blackpool away boro away Doncaster home shall i go on. i am a season ticket holder and have been for the last 10 years and love Saints but lets be realistic If we do get promoted most of the current crop are not good enough for the Prem, so no this is no knee jerk reaction just saying how it is. Dont get me wrong the current crop have been amazing this season and i am not knocking then what so ever, remember this is only my opinion so you dont have to agree.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well you've mentioned 7 of our defeats over the course of the season so you might as well say the other 3! I repeat, we will have to strengthen but the original post refers to 'recent times' and their effect on Cortese. As you know, he has a long term plan which has, so far, worked extremely well and recent results will not effect that. Games are often finely balanced e.g. we were bloody lucky to beat Leeds away but dominated Reading and yet lost 3-1. Its pretty irrelevant but i've been a season ticket holder for the past 23 years and ,in that period, i can't recall a better chief exec. Keep the faith and in Adkins and Cortese we trust.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate i think you are missing my point, i agree with everythink you say and yes you are right Cortese is a great Chief but do you honestly think with the team we have it does not need major investment if we are to survive in the Prem. You say Leeds dominated yet every team apart maybe Wolves are better then leeds in the prem, so what you hopeing for a lucky 1-0 win every week.

OK in your opinion who from the current crop can/will be good enough to play in the Prem?

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that major investment is required if we are to stay in the Prem but do not think that should be based on 'faultering in recent times' and trust in Cortese and Adkins to do what's necessary. I do not wish to get into a debate about individual players cos i only see 'em for 90+ mins per week whereas Adkins sees them virtually every day and has far greater knowledge and ability than i do. Its also a team game and overall quality of squad is more important. Suddenly introducing 6/7 new players into the first team will do more damage than good. Reading are the Championship winners and yet don't have 1 player in the PFA team of the year. I'm sure your also aware that we are investing another £15M in an already strong acedamy and a few of those players are close to stepping up. 'Home grown' is the future! {Ed003's Note -Ian Harte is in the PFA team }

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed003 also has greater knowledge of the PFA team than i do, as well! Apologies, still think of him wearing a white shirt.
