Opinions folks;
If you could have signed any one player in their prime for your club, who would it be and why?
Mine would be Steven Gerrard for Manchester United. For me he is the best central midfielder (other than Scholes) to have played in the Premier League. He can pass long and short, he scores goals from distance or from in the box, he is a great tackler and loves getting stuck in and he's a winner and a leader. He has everything. Would have loved us to get him around about 2004 or 2005 as I reckon he would have been the driving force behind even more success for us had he been here when we were going toe to toe with Chelsea.

if compensation can be agreed with exeter then paul tilsdale will become the new swindon manager. terms have been agreed between swindon and tilsdale. tilsdale has told exeter he wants to leave to return to his local club as manager. spurs youth manager and former exeter manager alex inglethorpe likely to be tilsdales assistant. mark cooper has been offered the youth team job vacated by paul bodin. all likely to be confirmed on monday

The money Dean Hoyle is spending on Canalside is nothing to do with transfer money. Canalside is a long term investment that can always be sold as a facility if necessary, buying players is a gamble for men with deep pockets! Two very different cash pots.

If Liverpool can get Higuain+Alonso+Raul Albiol from Real Madrid In Exchange of suaraz then I think it will be excellent deal for liverpool as they will get decent striker, defender and alonso. {Ed001's Note - Albiol is off to Napoli.}
