oh my god.
If this is what the leicester muppets are like in the championship with a bit of foreign backing behind them, they are in for a world of pain when the wheels fall off. remember pompey. I'm Leeds and proud and no.. before you say it i'm not jealous of your cash.
Don't forget we've been there.
I've never been happier, 'cos where we are now is Stable.
And to be fair you cannot progress 'till u are stable.

Learn from this Leicester, I think( with respect as a TRUE fan of football) that u will have a really good chance of promotion.

But if u don't go up next year will be HELL for u, your backers will run and your players too.

So i repeat, big hopes for u and respect , don't let idiot's like that 'toodles' and simular fools represent u.

all the best.. i mean that.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Well said, glad it's not just me who thinks that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh dear, get over yourself fella, the bloke who writes 'toodles' is loving winding you up and do you honestly think that it's just one person doing it now they know that it's annoying you? What about all this 'fox hunting' BS? Time you ladies stopped being so bitter, accepted that this section is BANTER and moved on. You don't scare anyone when you say you'll come fox hunting, nobody is impressed, we know you're probably some gonky 17yr old sitting in his bedroom acting like the big i am (que the "no i'm not, i'm dead hard me" bit)

Grow up and get yourself a life muppet. In the meantime

TOODLES

J Lloyd Samuel, osbourne, clinghan, mcartney,
Don't make me laugh, get a life leeds, do we want to progress or stay in championship for years.
Let's see proper signings, gradel to stay and premier league where we belong.if gradel wants 25k a week that's 1.2 mil a year.if he gets us up he pays for himself with extra perm money.if we don't he will be worth more under contract, far more than the extra mill on his wages, no brainer to me

Any ideas who the unnamed midfield trialist is who played the first half for Leeds United tonight?

Another triallist - Jlloyd Samuel wouldnt be a bad signing - I hope we bring Michael Johnson in on loan from Man City as well (another player eager to prove himself with a touch of class).

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Well said , i've always admired mj and think he would like to come to us and be good.

The leeds trailist is defitnley Eremenko , No doubt about it hope we get him would be a class signing , along with samuel to solid up the left back spot , even though he was not very good at cardiff , he used to be a top player and would be happy with him , also osbourne on a free might be a good addition to be a back up for brown Leeds looking lively now , lets push on and go for top 2

Osbourne who signed for Aberdeen for 2 years?Yes he is a option. Also Erememko wants to stay in Glasgow. And said so at the end of last year.So I would not see him going to the championship.Even if he leaves Scotland, the guy could be fixed up in Turkey on more cash than Leeds or any other championship team would throw at him.Honestly what is it with Leeds fans? They slag of the SPL.But its clear that they do not follow it.If they did they would know Aberdeen and Brown signed that guy.We get the message, you do not rate the SPL.But many Scots do not rate the championship. And we get it beamed into our homes free each week. And the SPL is higher standard.Even teams like ICT took points of Auld Firm last year.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aberdeen sign Isaac Osbourne from Coventry. This is Isiah Osbourne, the ex Aston Villa guy. I'm not a Leeds fan but, Get your facts right

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes the guy who the Leeds fan thought would be a option. My facts are spot on, this is why I sent the original post. Also it was sarcasm, in the style of that person Maximus.I see he has not been on today. He was giving it all that for weeks about beating Rangers.Rangers beat them 2 0.I am not boasting, you mean his teams a joke. And lost there best players. But he should not give it out, if he cant take it back.MAXIMOUSE MOVEMENT OF JA PEOPLE.

Southampton will unveil their kit on Thursday, and as part of the whole marketing ploy the tag line is ''Stars in stripes"

The reason the launch is so late is because they wanted to ensure they signed 2 championship stars who will be pat of the kit unveiling press-calls.

They will be...Marvin Sordell and Ben Turner. Watch this space. My source for anyone doubting me is Vicki Cobb. Look her up.

treacy (Charlton) 1m
lallana (Southampton) 2m
Gradel (leeds) 2m
-----------------------------------------------------
wow so may flaws in this rumour. 1 - there is no treacy that plays for charlton, i think you may mean preston. 2 - lallana is worth far more than 2 million. 3 - we would never sell him anyway. 4 - he recently commited to a 4 year contract and would definitely not leave to an average team a league below him who are most likely going to be the next swindon. 5 - gradel is worth more than 2 million. 6 - why would he want to go to bournemouth, 7 - how would bournemouth be able to afford any of these players, the club and eddie mitchell are broke.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will finally seal his move away from Southampton BUT not to move to a top flight side. Reading have made an offer for the youngster and will use the money, if nobody comes in beforehand, when Shane Long moves on. Long will go for around £7 million but they also have £5 million from Matt Mills to spend.

--------------------
Chamberlain has only just come out today (reportedly) saying he wants to play in the premiership, so will definitely not go to Reading, and I doubt they'd have the money to afford him, even if Long did go for £7M.

-----------------------------------------------------
no no no no no. that will not happen. first, a championship club will not spend that much money on one player. 2 the chairman of southampton seems unwilling to sell to any premier league clubs, so will definitely not sell to a rival in the same league. 3. chamberlain has more loyalty to the club than to leave to another championship club. he is settled in the area and has friends in the squad, so would only be tempted by a move from a higher up prem team. in conclusion reading have no chance in signing him.

I'm not saying this is 100% true, but seems the most likely activity to happen at west ham. Sam Alardyce wants 6 more signings, with them being between: Max Gradel 3m, Matt Taylor 1.2m, DJ Campbell 1.25m, Anton Ferdinand 1.5m, Nile Ranger 800k, Joey O'Brien Free, Steven Warnock 2m, Danny Fox 1.5m and Hernani Da Rosa Free. These all will depend on whether west ham sells and who they sell; at the moment the only likely exits look to be Scott Parker and Herita Ilunga. If Ilunga goes we'll definitely buy a left back, it looks like we need some money to fund these transfers with everyone saying that parker has to leave for them to buy, but with the new sponsorship deal we have funds to bring in Matt Taylor (already in negotiations) and 5 others with the option that Parker may still go out on loan for 4m.

On paper, the Championship is a given don't you think? there are 4 clear leaders in the race for automatic promotion, these being.. Leicester, West Ham, Birmingham, Reading, of course 2/4 will end in the play offs. But who is to make a dash for the final 2 places? Leed's seem to be selling a few of their best players, I think Burnley overachieved last season. as a Saints fan I would like to see us and Brighton up there, but it probably wont happen.
And relegation? My moneys on Doncaster, Coventry and Watford, but I could be proved wrong. I hope I am, especially by Watford...

Leicester rumours - only rumours mind:

In light of the clubs officials stating that another 4 players will be signed before the start of the season my 4 are:

Emile Heskey - Free (apparently already in talks - heard it down the pub from 'Mr Leicester' - those who know who I mean will understand that this is 100% possible)

Wayne Routledge - 1.5m

Miguel Vitor - ? - on loan last season and impressed.

and finally... one from:

Nicky Maynard £5mil or Shane Long £? or Lucciano Becchio £? or the Yak £? if the Toffees don't use him as a make weight in a transfer deal (If the tightarse Kenwright actually spends anything this summer)

Right im an Everton fan and i think its funny that Liverpool are buying all these players for alot more than they are worth and now there all getting big heads and thinking their going to be a force next season well there not, not until they get new defenders its alright buying all these midfielders and attackers but there defence is terrible RB.Kelly, CB.Skrtl, CB.Carragher, LB.Johnson... Carragher is past it now yes hes a good leader but hes slow and wont be able to handle strikers with the pace of Torres and Rooney, so until Liverpool buy defenders they will not be good they have already conceded 6 goals in 2 pre season games with there full defence out apart from johnson they need to buy a CB and LB because johnson cant defend

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Being in the position of say paying £20m for a proven premiership and england winger is certainly easier to swallow than to be in a position of being outspent by stoke city and even leicester city because the owner is to full of his own self importance to sell for the good of the club.

Agree0 Disagree1

Evertonians would be going wild with delight if they were buying the likes of stewart downing, charlie adam, luis suarez etc......who can they hope for? A good free transfer, sorry jay bothroyd turned everton down for Qpr

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes they would be going mad, they would expect better than Diver Suarez, Charlie Average Adam, Fatty Carroll, and One Season wonder Downing.

Agree2 Disagree1

Suarez is world class Are u mad? Beckford or Suarez? hmmm. Charlie adams passing is gonna give liverpool another dimention, even slur alex said his set pieces alone are worth 10m A year ago every evertonian wanted andy carroll, if andy wants it enough he could be 20+ goals a season striker, Carroll or Saha? hmmm. As for Downing since aug 2004 only Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Cesc Fabregas and Ryan Giggs have set up more premiership goals up than Downing This Liverpool team now has balance and goals.

Agree0 Disagree2

Who scored the most last season between Suarez and Beckford in the Premiership?? i think it was Beckford wasn't it????? how many did that goofy get? was it about 3?

the comment was relating to what erikson has achieved in 'english football ' .....which to my reckoning is very little in relation to what he has spent...ie man city and liecster so far the comparison was with grayson in these terms is much more favourable towards grayson ie he has never had much money but he has been directly responsible for a leeds promotion, 7th finish in the championship (higher than liecster last season with a much smaller buget) and building the blackpool team that got into the prem...tell me exactly what erikson has achieved since he has been letching of english clubs (apart from a notts county promotion which was very easy considering the level of football and the cash he was given).

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ahh, so you're not disputing that Ericsson is the better man, you're just moving the goalposts after your initial arguement was destroyed in about 20 seconds flat, good call.

Ok, based on his record to date, in England (apart from Notts County cos it's not fair to mention that) Ericsson hasn't acheived as much as Simon Grayson. There now, does that prove whatever point it was you were trying to make? Is Grayson now a better manager? Is he more of a Worldwide success or are you just a little bit sad in trying to compare the two? Why not stand Grayson up against Alex Ferguson? Obviously Fergie has more money and so we won't count what he's done at Utd cos that's not fair... dumbass

Agree0 Disagree1

It is a ridiculous argument, but you can always trust a Leicester fan to treat the discussion with style, wit and grace. Cue the shouts of 'Leeds fans started it'...

Agree1 Disagree0

Too true and why not mention svens money grabbing smash and grab at notts county?

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't think anyone is shouting anything to be honest. Who the bloke who started the discussion supports is is irrelevant, it is, as you say yourself, a ridiculous argument. Oh and it was the same clown who thought it unfair to mention Notts County because, apparently, that was too easy and therefore shouldn't count.

The mind boggles sometimes.

1.5 million is 'top wedge' money for a very unreliable goalie, liecster fans will find this out over the next few months, we conceded three goals at millwall last season and every goal was a huge mistake by him. oh and who out of erikson or grayson would you trust?..... grayson has only been a manager for four seasons and has achieved more than erikson already.... (promoted leeds on a zero budget, finished leeds 7th on a zero budget, built the blackpool team that got promoted to the prem on a zero budget), grayson achieves more than erikson with much less money, and he will do this season.
--------------------------------------------------
ha ha ha ha Leeds fans away's make the football world laugh you WERE big once like forest for a very short time and you all live on past glory. and if you stood back and took the time to look at your team last season and i do believe Grayson said this him self your defence was below poor (awful is a good word just to be clean) so its understandable that you conceded so many goals

Yes that's called building on progress.

I'm a Leeds fan and I think its clear we need to get one or two things straight about the club ownership.

On this forum, I constantly read the words of my fellow Leeds fans talking about player sales/not buying players/refusing to pay high wages as "good business".

This is absolute nonsense. We are not a business rewarded by the amount of profit we make. We are a football club, whose primary objective should be to win whatever competition we're in. Furthermore, the quickest way for the club to make a few bob is by getting promoted. £40m the income if we do.

And what do our fans mean when they say good business? The profits the club makes go straight into Mr Bates's pockets, not back to the fans who bankroll the club. To me, giving Leeds any money is terrible business from a personal point of view as I don't see any investment in the team. My money is being spent on a useless hotel that no-one will stay in, a restaurant that is empty 7 nights a week, and the publication of Mr Bates's hate-filled programme notes. The bottom line is we have one of the highest incomes in the Championship, and we don't spend anything on the team.

Think about it, Leeds fans. What good to the club is a hotel on the stadium. We don't even own the stadium Elland Road is most likely owned by Mr Bates, who through his complex, inpenetrable web of companies, is using my and your money to build a pointless hotel on the side of our historic stadium

Look at the example of the Liverpool fans, who had the good sense to realise when needed saving from the wrong hands. Mr Bates does not care about Leeds as a football club. His only loyalty lays with himself, and the money he can, and is, fleecing out of the Leeds United fans.

MOT. Lets wake up. Bates out.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Mr Bates has saved Leeds from financial ruin. They would be in the Blue Square Northern Conference but or Ken.

to all who say barnsley are not an accomplished championship side i think you will find that we are the team to have one the most games in the second tier of english football and have spent the longest time in it. this is not something to be overly proud of howevr it proves all wrong who believe we are not good enough

Believable0 Unbelievable2

I'm not sure if you mean 'Barnsley have spent more time in the second tier of English football than any other' or 'Barnsley have been in the Championship for longer than any other team in the League'. If it is the latter, you are wrong, as Coventry take that dubious honour (now PNE have gone down).

Agree1 Disagree0

You obviously cannot read. He states that Barnsley are the side with the most wins in 'tier 2' of English football. Not the team who's played the most games.

Wayne Routledge almost signed a contract with Leicester City today, though due to his Twitter post, it is now clear that following the renewed offer from Nottingham Forest, he is considering his options.

Still, the East Midlands best current club with the best history beats Leicester by a long shot. And I know there are better options available to him (Probably) but it allows me to have the opportunity at a dig at Leicester, who face it, have signed anyone who's walked into IKEA, Giltbrook over the last four weeks.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

We've defo signed everyone who walks into okra, so u definitely wouldn't want to have mills, schmeical or danns in you piss pot forest side It's not an excuse for a dig but just a jealous scum bag forest fan who knows there best years are behind them and they will be facing at least another year in the championship Unlucky

Believable0 Unbelievable1

The first pre-season friendly match against local rivals (Nuneaton Borough) has no significance whatsoever in how the team will fare. Yes, they were lacklustre. Yes, the negatives outweigh the positives. Yes, as things stand, our focus will be on the lower half of the table, there are more players who may be on the way out, few players coming in, SISU are going to resist the takeover and we are going to go into administration around the new year... I'm still looking forward to the new season. Gets me out of shopping on a Saturday afternoon.

" leeds and forest have huge problems" news to me? can you explain what these ' huge ' problems are cos im fascinated to find them out....lets see...leeds got promoted one season ago, we finished 7th in the championship last season (when people like you said we would be relegated), weve got the best young english manager in the world, we have some of the best young players outside of the prem (evidence shown by all the continuos rumours about them), we were one of only four teams in the top two divisions to post a profit last season, we average 27 thousand for home games (bigger than any other team in the championship), and you are obsessed by us cos you have to fill yer sad little life by writing rubbish about us.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Leeds have got "big problems" because they impersonate a football club. They are in fact a Rugby Club.

Arsenal transfer news:
After the signings of Carl Jenkinson, Gervinho and Joel Campbell, Arsene Wenger believes he needs a goalkeeper, centre-half, left-back, right-winger and a holding midfielder. The Gunners are eyeing a double raid on Lyon duo Hugo Lloris and Michel Bastos, a keeper and left-back respectively. Bolton and England defender Gary Cahill is closing in on a move after Arsenal have said to have offered £15m plus Carlos Vela and Henri Lansbury both on loan. Wenger could be set for a shock swoop on North London rivals Tottenham with a £22.8m plus Nicklas Bendtner bid. And finally to solve their holding midfield problem, West Ham's Scott Parker is a posibility, with the Hammers thought to be wanting £8m for the England midfielder.

The Gunners will put calamity keeper Manuel Almunia (£1m), Sebastien Squillaci (£2.5m), Armand Traore (£3m), Abou Diaby (£8m) and Nicklas Bendtner (£7m) up for sale.

Vito Mannone, Carl Jenkinson, Henri Lansbury, Craig Eastmond, Emmanuel Frimpong and Joel Campbell will be all loaned out to various clubs.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

A £22.8m bid + Bendtner for who? Looks like you lot are trying to bid £22.8m for the whole club If you put a post on here at least try to get all the details down. Fool.
