middlesbrough expect Qpr to make an offer for Albert Adimah early tomorrow morning, they needed to offload several high earners first before being able to look at completing a deal, Phillips to West Bromwich going through (if all parties agree) will mean a deal for adomah can be done.
Qpr need to move Leroy Fer on also.
Karanka had looked at several wingers but decided to go after Antonio only to see the fee increase beyond his valuation, I'm sure he'll have alternative targets but possibly not targets that could replace what Albert brings to the table.
Listening to a few people in the know Boro are in for a busy day.

1.) 31 Aug 2015 20:59:16
Cannot see Gibson or Karanka letting Adomah leave unless they have another player in the pipeline? Would love to see Gray or Antonio come in if Uncle was leaving?

Neil Bauser and Gibbo look to have a busy day?

2.) 03 Sep 2015 05:20:50
What Albert brings to the table is 4 goals 5 assists in a season where he played pretty much every game and plenty of catching practice for the fans in row Z and the opposition GK from his crosses. I'm glad he's going well be better for it in time.

3.) 03 Sep 2015 08:32:28
Apparently boro will look to beef up their squad next week by making the double loan signing of chelsea duo nathan and kennedy 2 brazilians

4.) 03 Sep 2015 13:27:48
Nathan has gone on loan to Vitesse and Kenedy has been included in Chelsea's Champions League squad so neither will be arriving any time soon.

5.) 04 Sep 2015 18:25:09
Could be the new center back they signed as he hasbt been included in any squad but we are going to sign 2 chelsea players 1 of them will be a short term deal the other will be long term

13 Aug 2015 20:54:50
The first club to enquire about having Muzzy Carayol From Middlesbrough gents, is of course Blackburn.
Surely we can all guess what's coming next??
Mr Rhodes in the number 10 shirt for Middlesbrough.
I can't keep up with all this is he or isn't he regarding Jordan, the lad ain't happy either. Apparently he was given assurances that if the set figure was offered he could at least talk to us, we met that figure two weeks back.
Oh and the deal for Nugent will still go ahead, however the fee is not 4m.
Unsure of exact sum but it isn't 4m in one go, that's for sure.

1.) 13 Aug 2015 23:22:46
It would appear Boro in Derbyshire has a similar source to myself although I was informed Rovers not interested in Carayol but they did make a cheeky enquiry about Reach. The goalkeeper situation is not working out as one would have hoped and I hope this isn't going to prove costly.

2.) 14 Aug 2015 00:46:45
I'm hearing David Nugent has today had a medical and will by signed Saturday morning at the latest of course not enough training time to make Bolton game and also the Jordan Rhodes saga will eventually come to a happy ending for boro fans as he his preparing to hand a transfer request to push through a move to the riverside as he has all eyes on a likely move since the venkys disallowed and did not confront him about boro's approaches it could work for all involved as I understand Blackburn admire Middlesbroughs muzzy carayol who is to be 100% loaned out as Karanka can not promise him the game time he needs and wants #UTB

3.) 14 Aug 2015 13:06:02
David Nugent has signed for Boro for an undisclosed fee according to Sky,
Now for Rhodes!!!

4.) 15 Aug 2015 15:14:15
Buisness done now it seems karanka is happy and doesn't expect any more signings

11 Aug 2015 14:59:45
Bristol City and Middlesbrough are due to go toe to toe for the signature of Dwight Gayle, an initial fee of 6m is on offer with an extra 2m in add ons from Bristol City.
Middlesbrough asked palace to update them on offers for the player lady week and this has now happened, Middlesbrough talking to Palace now about a deal for the player and are likely to match the offer.
Nugent is in talks which we all know about however his wage demands are causing an issue.

1.) 11 Aug 2015 18:49:08
Bit tired of clubs messing around with the Boro. If Nugent wants first team action then wages shouldn't be an issue. as they clearly are, then let him languish in the Leicester reserves on his fat wallet!

Can't believe that Gibbo is going to let Bristol gazump us on Dwight Gayle. Bumped into Abbie Clancy in Homebargains in Stockton and she can't wait for her Peter to move up North so she can hit the Hill Street Centre.

2.) 11 Aug 2015 20:50:55
Don't sign Nugent I'd rather have grey or gayle and someone whose good in the air

3.) 12 Aug 2015 04:40:51
I'm with you 'boro in Derbyshire' if nugent at his age commanding that fee doesn't seem this as the last opportunity to do something and is asking stupid money look elsewhere. If not he's a good no 10 and striker at this level 4mil maybe too much but not going to get a better deal elsewhere looks better value than 14mil for Rhodes to me

4.) 12 Aug 2015 11:42:08
Gayle looks to be going to Bristol city another one we are to slow with bidding for.

5.) 13 Aug 2015 14:53:03
Boro really tried to complete a loan to buy deal for Dwight Gayle but he does not want to move up North. It has nothing to do with a lack of effort from anyone at MFC. David Nugent wants to be a top earner at the club if he signs and this is what is holding up any deal. Jordan Rhodes deal is still ongoing. He hoped a deal would be done by now but the Blackburn owners have been playing games, as i have mentioned before Rhodes will hand in a transfer request as he really wants the move to happen. There is also a highly regarded spanish youngster in talks with MFC, i do not know his name or from what club unfortunately. Expect a lot of activity in the next fortnight at the club as there will be a few outgoing transfers.

6.) 13 Aug 2015 15:05:14
Gayle went to bristol on wednesday for talks but reports on thurday suggest that transfer is off. Coild he have decided boro is a better option?
Also I waa a bit concerned why it was taking so long to reach agreement with Nugent. But now I wonder if boro have caused the delays while we sound out Gayle who presumably is our preferred option,

10 Jul 2015 10:24:06
West Ham have accepted a bid from Middlesbrough, it's looking like 6m in total with the majority upfront.
Their is thought to be no issues with the negotiations so Middlesbrough are likely to have Downing ready to travel to Marbella next week.
Stuani is in talks (early part of talks) and ipswich are looking at wanting James Husband as part of any deal for Darryl Murphy, so this one might prove awkward but listening to what is being said Karanka feels Stuani and Murphy (both big target men) will play together, so as I said over a month ago, Boro are looking to play with two strikers next season.
Again, just rumours gents but from people close enough to be pretty accurate with it.
Oh and Rudolph Austin has been discussed as the midfield addition, not sure how far that has gone but Karanka wants a holding player to replace Whitehead and sees Austin as a proven player to add competition (for me a great player and an absolute athlete).

1.) 10 Jul 2015 14:06:14
Hope the Murphy deal does fall through husband probably scores more in the average season

2.) 10 Jul 2015 14:49:05
Haha smogfather, I'm a little concerned about Murphy. Not sure he is a guarantee of goals for 4m and I think Husband is a cracking talent to replace Gorgeous as and when needed.
Hopefully Karanka gets it right, I'm glad the gazette have caught up to my original post this morning about Downing being pretty much done.
I colleague in Burnley rang earlier to say they are looking at Rhodes for 8m.
Interesting stuff if it's right, that would be vossen and Rhodes upfront, we might see how they'd have done for us last season had he signed in January.

3.) 10 Jul 2015 14:50:50
Note, husband has never scored more goals than Murphy in any season ever !

4.) 10 Jul 2015 19:07:00
You can't really say that about murphy he did score more goals than anyone else in the league playing in a average team tbh if he had service of stewy and albert he would probably take the golden boot by Christmas but 4mil is a gamble at 32 yr old

5.) 10 Jul 2015 20:53:54
It was a bit of sarcasm about how bad Murphy is

6.) 10 Jul 2015 23:19:28
Murphy isn't bad he's certaonly got a goal in him and like I said with the right service could make a huge difference

7.) 11 Jul 2015 07:48:58
Look at his record and average it out he's brutal I think someone younger with pace would be so much better

8.) 11 Jul 2015 10:59:42
Middlesbrough inquired about a move for Murphy but the club chose not the follow the interest up. The club certainly didn't bid £4.5m for him and I really doubt that they will go back to Ipswich. Karanka/Bausor have talked to several strikers since May in the hope of luring two in within the next few weeks. both from the championship, Spain and Portugal.

9.) 12 Jul 2015 07:29:03
Those backing Murphy really need to take a look at the guys career. That's problem with football these days, 1 decent season means you're a legend.

The guy had a good run, if he does it again and then again you say maybe he's fulfilled a slight but of potential but for me 400k would be too much of a risk in my eyes.

And Vossen has gone to Burnley and Rhodes got stretched off yesterday so I don't think the Vossen/Rhodes partnership is a non starter.

03 Jul 2015 08:45:03
I am starting this post with an apology to all the people that have posted rumours on here that Middlesbrough were about to re-sign Stewart Downing, I countered pretty much every post with a reason why it was incorrect or not possible.
Middlesbrough will announce two new signings next week, Mr Downing being one of them. west ham are willing to accept a lower fee from Middlesbrough as we are not going to be battling it out with them next season, still in excess of 5m but they wanted more from Sunderland, Stoke and Newcastle.
Unsure on the second signing but I am told that Karanka and Bausor have pulled off their main transfer targets in time to get things prepared for an assault on the championship next season, the second player is a striker from a premier league club.
Personally I think it will be Cameron Jerome but I was also told this morning that Glen Murrayso name had been muted within the club and would be available for just 3 million apparently (found that hard to believe), he is however coveted by other premier league sides at the moment, possibly the capture of Downing will show positive signs to any other potential signings.
karanka felt his team lacked a cutting edge on too many occasions last season and Lee Tomlin's inconsistent performances have spurred him on to go all out for a game changing midfielder, enter Stewart Downing.
I am torn on this signing, Stewie is a fantastic player with the ball and has incredible delivery with final balls and set pieces, I just pray he can cope with the intensity of the division, his class will stand out for sure but he is a confidence player also, the jury will be out.
A big gamble folks but one Karanka is willing to make.
Other signings will be loans only, take your pick from Chelsea really.

1.) 03 Jul 2015 10:21:09
hope so, this could be what we need. up the boro.

2.) 03 Jul 2015 11:59:30
Jerome spearheaded's our attack, top scorer last season, he will start the first game of the season in the premier league. he just simply isn't available for transfer to anyone right now.
This rumour has been made up by a teenager playing too much football manager probably.
So please stop repeating it boro fans. its getting a little awkward.

3.) 03 Jul 2015 12:26:08
This rumour is nonsense, West Ham will sell downing to the highest bidder and I suspect downing will only sign for the club paying the highest wages, Middlesbrough will only sign him if no other premier league clubs come in for him and frankly at £7 mil the quoted price it's unlikely.

As for Jerome leaving Norwich premier club for championship football, it just won't happen. Norwich would not sell him, nor would Jerome want to move. After scoring 20 goals last season his value would be upwards of £7mil based on that quoted figure for former Norwch striker Chris Martin at Derby.

Good luck to Middlesbrough next season but I think you will find it very tough to repeat last year.

4.) 03 Jul 2015 14:18:30
Hero me is not a premiership quality striker though he's a good championship striker Norwich will have better targets than jerome if they are serious about staying up this time round

5.) 03 Jul 2015 14:50:14
According to the Northern echo we have Downing!!!

6.) 03 Jul 2015 22:43:42
Joint announcement that the brother in laws will both be playing for Boro nxt year. John or Stuey for captain????

7.) 04 Jul 2015 07:28:49
I hope your right Agent Lm

8.) 04 Jul 2015 11:32:59
There's an arrangement in place for his playing contract to be mutually terminated if he's injured to often or not playing at all. He will then switch to the coaching team and continue working with the under 16s

9.) 04 Jul 2015 14:35:45
Sounds believable and youve delivered in the past. Up to mr Bausor to finish it off now.

Middlesbrough are preparing a final take it or leave it offer for Jordan Rhodes, after yet another drab display infront of goal on Saturday against Doncaster the club are looking to act swiftly to have two additional strikers in to the club ready for the season opener to compete with Kike, fewster and new signing christian stuani for a starting role.
A prior target that seemed out of the question has now become available so the club are working actively now on that deal as well as the deal for Jordan Rhodes.
A further defender looks likely to come in on loan, Yedlin (spurs) is one target and another midfielder from Chelsea, the name I keep being told is Chalobah again on loan. These deals are touch and go, not a priority at the moment. karanka hugely impressed with his younger players throughout preseason, don't be shocked to see one or two make the squad for PNE on the 9th August as he's unhappy with the attitude of his fringe players from last season.

Karanka is without doubt the best manager in the league, he isn't a manager that will put up with chat back and why should he, he's the gaffer. What he says go's.
Player power is rearing it's ugly head again and if Albert has put in a transfer request then farewell, we'll bring in a player who wants to be here and will respect his gaffer. As I said earlier his final ball is average at best which is why he gets half the assists he should get.

Let's be totally fair here guys.
Albert is quick, can go past a player and ain't a bad finisher but his final ball is the one thing lacking from him being a guaranteed starter internationally and the one thing stopping bigger clubs taking a punt on him.
He is replaceable in my opinion and I have it from a decent source that this isn't just about him arguing with Aitor or being dropped for the Bristol game, Boro are very much looking at sorting a deal for Antonio from Forest and uncle Albert ain't too impressed, he knows that if Gibson splashes 5m plus to land him, he ain't going to warm the bench while Albert plays on the right side
Boro can hardly drop Downing for Antonio and Albert knows it. Just like the situation with Tomlin, he realised pretty quickly after seeing Fabbrini and Downing in training that he'd be a squad player from then on.
We'll see if a deal can be done for Antonio but if it can expect to see Albert heading to London to either Qpr or Fulham.

He's pretty unplayable at the minute.
It's pretty unplayable in the stands.

I fully agree realist.
Look at the grief Stewy got at times, yet he went on to Villa, Liverpool and then West Ham before returning home a hero. It's insane how impatient we are with our own at times.
The list goes on at players that got a hard time, Morrison, Taylor, Mcmahon and Cattermole to name a few.
I rate Reach, I think he offers good work rate and a final ball too, Muzzy is a flair player that on his day is unplayable but when it's not his day he goes missing.

I don't live too far from Nottingham, it's looking more likely that Antonio will join Derby. He has asked to speak with both Boro and Derby but this request was squashed.
Forest are interested in Carayol for certain but want to also receive around 5m. I'm sorry chaps but he ain't worth 5m and Muzzy.
Lots of my pals are Sheffield Wednesday fans and they thought Antonio was a good sale to Forest last yr for 1.5m, they wouldn't want him back so what does that tell ya.
