where did you hear this mate, how much would the deal be worth

3.) 31 Jul 2015

Deal worth 3 mill. I'd snap their hands off for that price. Also boro told to forget about Rhodes deal. Linked with move for both nakhi wells and Aduriz of Bilbao.

Was on talksport 3 million

Try a swap deal for one of there players they had a few decent ones

7.) 01 Aug 2015
01 Aug 2015 12:45:12
Yeah, 3 million is a ludicrous offer, would want double that. Norwich City also after the lad.

Tomlin is on his way but not to Bournemouth, it looks like Leicester City will be his next club.
Middlesbrough need additional funds to push through the deal to finally land Jordan Rhodes and see Tomlin as a replaceable member of their squad now they have Downing and fabbrini.
Rhodes was in Blackburns squad to face wigan today but sources around the player have confirmed talks are still ongoing between Boro and Blackburn to iron out the deal and they expect a deal to be concluded once Middlesbrough trim their squad accordingly, the signing of Fabbrini was the last piece in the jigsaw to allow Tomlin to leave.
A fee of 4m, all upfront has been agreed for the player to leave, this deal should be completed within a week, expect Rhodes to be in by mid August.

Good deal as Fabbrini looks good and So many different options out wide now, with Muzzy, Albert but disappointed not to see Yanic get a little more game time? How ever! 18 year old Danny Fry looks an absolute quality Center half for the future! No need for money spent in the Back four!

Chat around the stands today was Tomlin left with a bit of frustration that he is not getting the game time he needs and a deal is defo on the cards! 4 mill is a very good price and should be snapped up?

4 mill for Tomlin (if true) 8 mill for Mings imagine what price Gorgeous would be fetch? Thoughts anyone

Good business if it comes off.

Just me who thinks fabrini looks a bit of a loose cannon good with the ball don't get me wrong good player but tackles are harsh and he has a temper

02 Aug 2015 02:24:30
I heard we wanted to keep tomlin but he demanded 25k a week to stay after prem interest so he's now been frozen out and he will be sold for around 3mil as stated above.

I'm not sure of the exact figures but I had heard something similar regarding Tomlin, his agent has been attempting to persuade Middlesbrough to reevaluate his contract after Premier league interest, the addition of Downing and Fabbrini have made Boro's stance even stronger, proving it is easier to replace him than give in to player power regarding salary. Just to put a few people in the loop here, Fabbrini is here on very good money so I would expect him to play a lot of football for Middlesbrough next season, he hasn't been brought in as backup. I had heard we would play with two strikers but from what has been mapped out on the training ground so far Middlesbrough will adopt a very attack minded midfield, doing away with the two holding midfield players set up in some games, not all.
Going back to Tomlin, the biggest concern and always has been is his inconsistentcy and although Karanka really does Like Tomlin he is running out of chances to cement a place in a hard working midfield set up.
Forshaw will be huge to what we do this season, to dislodge Clayton or leadbitter was his task and it looks like he has adapted his game to do this.
Just another little snippet of info too, Boro have only turned down one concrete offer so far, Man City wanted Adam Reach and figures of 10m were offered twice. So with that being rejected I think it's safe to say (a) we are going for it this season and Reach is a big part of that plan and (b) Muzzy and Yanic don't look like getting much action this season, a possible loan for Yanic is on the cards.

If the price is right I suppose, but it would be a shame, there's so much competition now, just hope Carayol plays

15.) 02 Aug 2015
02 Aug 2015 16:05:23
Offered 10 million for Reach? I'd have snapped their hand off, Carayol is a lot better than him

16.) 02 Aug 2015
02 Aug 2015 18:05:28
Boro in derbyshire if your info is correct i would of let reach go 10 mill ide snap there hand off he isn't better now than downing and johnson when we sold them

17.) 02 Aug 2015
02 Aug 2015 19:31:17
There has not been any concrete offers for any players yet. The Tomlin sale is agreed in principal, nothing to do with katanka, just a process of balancing the books. As for the reach bit above????? He was one player that was deemed surplus if an offer came in. No offer in as of yet. 10m tho? Come on, not even Man City are that daft.

18.) 02 Aug 2015
02 Aug 2015 21:24:57
Absolute nonsense about reach, yeah he started last season well, but ended it poorly and hasn't done anything pre season, there's no chance man city would offer 5 for him never mind 10

19.) 02 Aug 2015
02 Aug 2015 21:34:43
I'd let reach got for. 10p mixup and a packet of beefy space raiders he's terrible or was back end of last season we still have big problems we need the striker hate to bang on about that point we need someone to play reach' position and we need a cover in goal because no doubt there will be a time when dimis injured

20.) 02 Aug 2015
02 Aug 2015 21:38:49
I agree gents, I like Reach but I'd much rather see Muzzy or Yanic on the left flank.
Karanka is huge on attitude and training performances.
I'm assuming Reach is a good trainer.
Reach started well last season, I think he'll push in this season too but he ain't worth 10m.
But then again is Rhodes worth 14m?? I hope we get Rhodes but the outlay to get him is going to come with incredible pressure, I think it's safe to say most Boro fans will expect 25 goals minimum this season from him. Oh and promotion. Oh and a cup run. Possibly Evenue european football next yr. Haha.

21.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 06:20:22
I was as shocked as anyone regarding Reach. Don't shoot the messenger fella's.

22.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 06:51:46
Boro in Derbyshire couldn't have put it better myself, muzzy was on the pitch for 10 minutes and made an impact with a few runs in. Reach didn't play bad and wildschut was relatively quiet in the small period he played. Carsyol to play next year hopefully. As for Rhodes, big target man gets goals that's what we're paying for, 14m is a transfer record and it'll drop a lot of pressure of him and the team for promotion, let's hope the boro have a good start and push through. To the prem.

23.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 13:22:07
Cant see us getting even half of what you're saying City have offered, as for Rhodes, ill believe it when i see it, happy enough with the additions so far, Stephens, Fabbrini, Stuani etc

24.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 21:15:42
Rhodes 14 million no chance it's too much we should look at other targets

25.) 04 Aug 2015
04 Aug 2015 00:47:34
I agree its a lot of money but its the one thing we lacked last season and if we had someone with the same amount of goals in him as Rhodes we would probably of been promoted

26.) 04 Aug 2015
04 Aug 2015 06:17:03
But you could get 2 players for that amount of money if he comes for 14 then gets injured or something we're up the creek

27.) 04 Aug 2015
04 Aug 2015 06:18:06
14m is to much. wouldn't pay half that. Gestede is a better player and went for 6 in comparison. He doesn't even fit into our system. Move on to other targets. Surely the club have more than one striker target!

28.) 04 Aug 2015
04 Aug 2015 14:22:30
We are apparently targeting crouch michu Gary hooper and Rhodes. This is not my statement

29.) 04 Aug 2015
04 Aug 2015 14:23:56
Rhodes has not hit his prime yet he is only 25 so he could be good in the long run
