AFC Wimbledon will imminently confirm the signing of Billy Knott on a free transfer. Knott was recently released by Bradford City. The former Chelsea and West Ham youth player joined the Dons on loan from Sunderland in 2012, and was the Dons' Young Player of the Year for the 2011/ 12 season, despite only joining them in January of that year. The Dons will bring him in to provide competition at left midfield and for the central midfield positions.

Wimbledon are also considering making a move for former academy player Luke Gambin, who starred for Barnet at left midfield last season. Sutton-born Gambin recently broke into the Malta national team, and will hope to cement a place in the team as Malta head into a World Cup Qualifying group that includes Scotland and England. Gambin would be brought in to replace Sean Rigg who is on his way back to the South West of England, with Cheltenham and Yeovil both interested in signing the Gloucester-born wide midfielder. However Rigg may drop to the non-league to sign for Forest Green Rovers, where he spent some time as a youth player.

Wimbledon striker Adebayo Azeez will sign a 6 month loan deal with Dagenham and Redbridge in the coming months. Azeez went on loan to the Daggers in 2014, scoring 3 times in 15 appearances. The recently-relegated Daggers host the Dons in a pre-season friendly in late July, and it is likely Azeez will join them soon after that friendly game.
The Dons will hope that some consistent game time will sharpen up the pacy striker who struggled to finish his chances at the back end of the 2015/ 16 season.
AFC Wimbledon will give trial to powerful striker Uche Ikpeazu over pre-season period, as they look to complete their young strike force for next season. The former Watford player gained plenty of experience in League One over the last two seasons with Crewe, Doncaster, Port Vale and Blackpool. Although he is very strong, he admittedly possesses only a slight amount of the strength of departing Adebayo Akinfenwa, but Ikpeazu can provide a lot more speed in attack.

Transfer deadline day news:

Blackpool are to talk with Cardiff City over a season-long loan deal for Rhys Healey.

Blackpool were also interested in fellow Cardiff city striker Eoin Doyle, but it looks as if he will be off to a Championship side (most likely to be Rotherham United) on a loan deal to become permanent in January if his release clause of £500,000 is met.

Also on Blackpool's wanted list is young Manchester City centre-back George Evans. The promising young defender has played League 1 football on loan at Crewe Alexandra and Scunthorpe United and could help bolster Blackpool's backline.

Blackpool are also taking an interest in young Welsh defender Tom Bender, currently at Forest Green Rovers. Also, former Forest Green Rovers manager David Hockaday may be moving to Blackpool in 'a coaching capacity'.

Finally, TJ Nagi of Welsh League side Barry Town United is to be offered a trial with Blackpool after catching the eye of the club's coaching staff.

01 Sep 2015 15:16:39
Doyle could be set for a move to Preston .blackpool need to stick to non league players as that's were they are heading

27 Apr 2016 14:58:51
3 things.

1)You should of put Preston but Blackpool instead of 'Preston . blackpool'

2)You should stuck a h in were to make it where in 'as that's were they are heading'.

3)You should put a full stop at the end of a sentence.

Forest Green Rovers striker Reece Styche is one such player being targeted by The Robins.

09 Jan 2014 10:31:16
Brentford have taken forest Green Rovers defender Eddie Oshodi on a short trial.

09 Jan 2014 11:31:01
Always had good time for Oshodi - reckoned it was only a matter of time before he started making his way back up the leagues although he does have limitations.

Hopefully he can impress in his trial.

Good Luck for the rest of the Season

29 Jul 2013 11:17:15
Adam Rooney has decided to leave Swindon town and is set to sign for Rangers on a two year contract.

Brentford are looking to loan a young goalkeeper from Liverpool for the season.

James Constable is due at Forest Green Rovers this week and will sign a contract in the next few days.

Adam Rooney will be joining Oldham as he has trained with us all summer

Adam Rooney doesn't play for Swindon.

Really I know this is a rumours site but can't you do better than that

James Constable to F. G. R? Beano is not going anywhere and certainly not into Conference.

Rooney isn't a swindon player so its hard to leave a club you are not contracted to.

Adam Rooney to Oldham! Don't make me laugh unless he takes a massive wage decrease? Oldham can't afford to pay £8k a week, Oldham are one of the teams the bookies have backed to go down all the best, Rooney is never worth the money he demands.

Rooney can't sign for anyone yet due to legal reasons with Swindon

Training and playing with Oldham so looks like his new team.

This site does put some weird stuff on here without knowing the truth about players from other clubs.

Ofcourse he can sign for someone and in fact I'm sure that's what swindon want. Swindon say there is no valid contract in place.

30 Jul 2013 15:44:20
Wish people would get their facts right when posting Adam Rooney is not a Swindon player he signed a contract with the previous owner at Swindon which the new owner has rejected due to the stupid wages offered to a L1 player. The contract hasn't been signed and Rooney is currently talking of suing the club. The club and Rooney between them are trying to resolve it for him to sign a new contract but not on the stupid money offered previously.

So Rooney is unattached as Birmingham released him so unless Oldham are going to pay him 8k per week as the figure being banded around which I doubt they will Rooney won't have a club unless he changes his outlook on what he wants revenue wise as I can't see any club in L1 paying that level of wage.
All clubs are tightening up now in the lower leagues as the premier league are milking everyone dry and don't give a toss about any of the lower league clubs.

Ok let's get this right. Rooney was not offered 8k per week. His total package came just over 5k. The rest included win bonuses and agent fees. Whoever he signs for, the breach of contract payout by Swindon Town FC will cover that. The PFA and legal dept are determining whether signing for another club will void his suit against Swindon. The general concensus is that Swindon Town FC are still in breach no matter what he decided to do or who he decides to sign for.

Agreed about the breech, however he can only be awarded a payment based upon his losses, if he signs for another club immediately this mitigates the loss and the payment would be minimal, I heard that Swindon have offered him 2k per week on a 3 year deal with a 60k signing on fee which would cover his moving costs, that doesn't seem that bad an offer to me.

James C*nstubble to Walsall to replace Grigg

Rooney Signs for Oldham on a 2 year deal with extra year option. Whatever wages he is on matter not. It is on oldhams official site

If Swindon paid Rooney £8000 a week they must be mad some premier league squad players don't get that.

24 Jul 2013 11:00:03
Any Cardiff city news - forest green rovers were coming for you!

Looks like they were expecting us! A friend who went to see the game did say he hardly recognised the team that played em, but still 4-3? Cracking effort from them.

05 Jun 2013 22:28:32
Elliott Richards to join Forest Green Rovers on a 6 month loan deal from Bristol Rovers.

Next! John ward has said today he is in his plans for next season.

To be honest even though I doubt this is true I think a loan will do him good. also the wages would be a boost too.

Newport would be more likely

27 May 2013 23:32:53
Scunthorpe are looking at the possibility of signing James Norwood from Forest Green Rovers.

03 May 2013 18:08:48
Bristol City are hoping to sign Forest Green Rovers defender Jamie Turley. Turley is out of contract in the summer and would be available at a reasonable price.

I'm a fgr season ticket holder and city have been scouting here for a while, hope he doesn't leave but good luck to him if he does.

04 May 2013 10:07:32
spoke to scott Bartlett who seems to think this is a done deal at close of season.

If he is out of contract in summer why would he attract a price

15 Jan 2013 13:05:37
swindon town have had a bid accepted for forest green rovers striker having a medical on friday

Swindon have no money for players are trying to off load high earners to keep loanee themselves so is load ofB-S

03 Jan 2013 17:39:47
Swindon midfielder Cox is about to head back to Oxford on a free transfer, Risser is going to Forest Green Rovers, Luke Rooney is going to AC wimledon in a swap deal for Midsun.

Martins wont be signed but Ward and holland will be, Matt Ritchie will be leaving in this window, the board have told PDC that if he wants new players he has to create the budget.

I dont see AFC Wimbledon giving away JM in a swap deal for LR.

Just a few rumours about in's and out's at Tranmere
Out
Jake Kirby on loan to a conference team (I heard Forest Green Rovers mentioned but not definite)
Mark McChrystal left by mutual consent might be on his way to Bristol Rovers.
In
Danny Wright from Wrexham 28 years old but a consistent 1 in 3 goal ratio this move may depend on Jake Cassidy's loan from Wolves not being extended.
Michael O'Halloran loan from Bloton (the landscape) should be extended to end of season in next few days.
Ben Gibson Middlesbrough are keen to let us have him back until end of season depending on recovery from his injury Mowbray is very pleased at his progress while at Rovers.

Other rumours about players like Jamie Vardy and Marvin Morgan are just wishful thinking Vardy will probably go to Ipswich and Morgan would require a fee which we would not be able to match.
Jason Koumas's return is also another bit of rubbish that has been going around again very unlikely to happen.

I am the voice inside Ronnies head!

Boro fan here. Ye if gibson is back fit he will be straight back to you anyway. You dont want a big time charlie like Jason Koumas ruining your promotion push. Pretty impressed by your serge to the top of league 1. Unexpected tbh. But hope you go up as you deserve it.

03 Jan 2013 15:42:34
Forest Green Rovers forward James Norwood is attracting the interest of a number of Football League clubs. The striker who scored a hat-trick against Newport on New Years Day is a target for Doncaster, Bristol Rovers, Exeter and Cheltenham Town.

The gas the biggest of the three mentioned by a mile so lets see what he can do

03 Jan 2013 15:41:24
Forest Green Rovers captain Eddie Oshodi is a target for local rivals Cheltenham Town, who are considering a £25k for the former Watford defender.

Eddie Oshodi has signed a new contract with Forest Green Rovers.

Might be a good deal. Lansbury previously on loan at Watford although during different management. Deeney reached his prime and would like to be nearer Birmingham home.

03 Jan 2013 14:31:30
Swindon, Preston and Doncaster are after Forest Green Rovers striker James Norwood

Cheltenham are favourites

Cheltenham are not favourites at all, he has said he is likely to join Doncaster or Preston.
