Man U trades over the next year
Lots of speculation, but these are the most likely:
1)Hargreaves in January.
Bayern have been up front with the fact that tax considerations were behind their decision not to sell. In the new fiscal year they can sell and have a full year to shop around and replace Hargreaves (off-setting income from sale with transfer costs of replacement), so the sooner the better in 2007 from their perspective.
Enuf said, 5 million retainer to AT. Madrid and he wants to go. It'll happen.
3) Morten Gamst-Pedersen from Blackburn as a replacement/backup for Gigggs
4) An as yet unknown right back to replace/backup Neville
Anything else is pure speculation, or wishful thinking, at this point.JWIRE
There will not be a crazy amount of transfers in January as posted here!
And for god sake stop with the percentages of players going here or there. Its daft.
Here is some stuff that is happening in January.
Lucas Neill will join Liverpool, his contract expires in the summer and Blackburn would rather cash in now then let him go on a free.
Daniel Alves will NOT join Madrid,he will sign a contract extension at Seville.
Hargreaves will not join United in January, maybe in the summer.
De Rossi will not join.Roma want a deal over £20 million and united won't have it.
Fernando Torres will join United in the summer for £26 milllion.
Adriano will be a January target for Chelsea. As he has fallen down the pecking order at Inter,he is unhappy and would favour the move to London.
Please stop saying Kaka is going to United, for those who know he signed a 5-year extension in the summer and will see it out at least.
United will also sign Nani from Sporting Lisbon in January for around £6-8 million.Lets clear something up.
The rumours of SAF going on a huge shopping spree at ManUtd before he leaves is slightly wide of the mark. Any shopping that goes on will be done by Carlos Quiroz. He has been groomed for the role over the last few years and will be given a season to prove he is capable. If he fails then expect a new manager to be bought in.
Expect only one signing in January and that will be Owen Hargreaves.
If Louis Saha doesn't deliver some goals before next summer, then and only then will a new striker be looked for. Forget Torres he will be going to Liverpool.
As for Liverpool.
Someone mentioned yesterday that Kirkland will be coming back to Anfield. Next summer expect Kirkland & Dudek to leave. Carson will return from his loan to challenge Reina. 3rd Choice will be David Martin.
Lucas Neill will either come in Jan for a reduced fee or will sign on a bosman for next summer.
Liverpool will miss out on Daniel Alves.
Most of the transfer kitty for next summer will be spent bringing in Fernando Torres to partner Dirk Kuyt.
Also expect a bid for Ledley King with Harry Kewell going the other way. Will all the man Utd fans stop talking bs there is no way Man u can afford to buy 12 players in 1 season that's just stupid.
So anyway on to some real news Arsenal will buy Baptista and possibly ribery and maybe a left back plus the usual youngsters.
Master geeTo the person who said reading are going to buy young Aidan McGeady for 750k, you've got your valution of him a bit wrong, his value must be close to the 8million mark, Martin Jol,Alex Ferguson and Martin o'Neill think very highly of him.and for all you man utd heads out there stop kidding yourselfs, the days of big spendings went out the window when Magner and McManus sold out to the Glazers.I'd say there is a max of 30mill to spend,so how yous think ye's can afford the likes of torres, kaka,de rossi, riquelme and hargreaves is beyond me.finally for the people onthis site that say arsenal don't have any money, they earned the most money in the premiership last year due to the champions league run and they re-moraged their
stadium for more equity, which means more money for players, expect big things at the emirates, but as every arsenal fan knows Wenger doesn't spend big.we shoudnt worry though because we have the best prospects coming through the famous academy, such as Fran Merida,Traore,Rui Fonte, and Bentender, whos setting the championship a light this year with great performances.I reckon Wenger will be keen to add a winger,a keeper,a left back and sign Baptista on a perminant basis.Winger is probably going to be Ribery, and possibly his french teamate Abidal or young prospect Gareth Bale as possible left backs. As for a goalkeeper i've heard about Ustari, but would love to see Shay Given at the Emirates.
SlaterMan utd will sign torres for 27 mill and will sign hargreaves for 15 mill and expect to see schweinstiger or schneider to sign.100% true. torres will definetly sign for man u in the summer if atletico madrid do not get into the top four of the la liga.Im a west ham supporter and to the reading supporter that said aidean mcgeady is signing fot u at 750k get real. He will either stay with celtic or join man u . anyway West ham rumours are:
S.Taylor - 3m
T.Huddlestone - 5.5m
M.Richards - 6.8m
J.Ledley 2.5mTo the guy who doesn't reckon that nufc will sign nesta, and wants to know why AC millan would sell nesta, the reason why is that Nesta is nearly 31 and has only really another 2 seasons of use left in him!Reading will sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Nani for a fee thought to be in the region of £6mGunnar Heidar Thorvaldsson is set to sign for Reading in January for £750k.Ganluigi Buffon finally looks set to leave Juventus. The Italian international has accepted a contract from Barcelona and will sign in January for £21mPardew has had a meetin with dave beckham and becks said once the takeover has been finalised he said that he hopes to b back home in the east end of london wearing the famous claret and blue shirtSouness being interviewed for nowich job. I heard through a friend who has a sister that works at the clubManchester United to sell EVRA, VIDIC, SAHA (loan), SMITH, SOLSKJARR, RICHAERDSON, FLETCHER, VAN DER SAR, JONES, BARDSLEY, MARTIN, FOSTER (loan), AND EVANS getting 60 million in the club. JAN BUDGET WILL BE 90m. SHOPPING SPREE:- Torres, Michael Owen, Hargreaves, Heitinga, Kerlon, Riquelme, Kaka, Buffon , Pederson, Bale. United don't want 30 yr old, old man SENNA so pls stop linking us with him. All theste are 101% true. My friend is a coach at OT. BELIEVE ME OR NOT. Also Fergie (thank god) 2 leave in summer and ERRICKSON, MOURHINHO OR LIPPI WILL REPLACE. Mourinho being most likely. COMMON WAZZA! This rumour is from the greatest Manu fan ever. . . . The CHAMPS for this yr. Betu weel win the PREM , FA, LEAGUECUP AND CHAMP LGE.Spurs will not let lennon and jenas go like some Man Utd fans think, but they will sell davids, and will also let stalter and davenport leave in a part exchange deal with C.Davies plus 4mil, they will also sign M.Petrov for 9milReading are on the trial of former Wigan hitman Nathan Ellington. Reading were knocked back in the summe
r with a £2,000,000 bid but they feel it is worth another attempt with Brian Robson since leaving. The Royals are preparing a improved January £2,500,000 deal with Shane Long going the other way on loan for the remainder of the season.Aston Villa will sign former England U21 and Reading midfield man Steve Sidwell in January, for £3,000,000. Reading though are bargaining hard as they would prefer to keep their man but they won't risk losing Steve Sidwell for nothing next summer.
Reading have highlighted Blackburn's Robbie Savage as their main target to replace Sidwell, if that fails then they hope to bring Neil Lennon in from Celtic.I hear that there will be movement on the loan front at the Emirates stadium in January. Sheffield United will attempt to sign Fran Merida and Joe O'Cearuill on loan for the remainder of the season, while on loan forward Nicklas Bendtner will return to Arsenal to compete for a place in the first team. Merida signed from Barcelona in the summer but could use a temporary move elsewhere to gain some experience, and O'Cearuill is also highly regarded at Arsenal and could benefit from a loan stint away from the club. Bendtner is currently on loan at Birmingham and, although Steve Bruce is trying to keep him in the Midlands until the end of the season, Arsene Wenger is keen for him to challenge Thierry Henry, Robin van Persie, Theo Walcott, Emmanuel Adebayor and Julio Baptista at the Emirates.New Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner is already negotiating a new six year contract for Martin O'Neill, but the Irishman has plans of his own before he committs his own future to the club. O'Neill wants to give promising winger Gabriel Agbonlahor an extended five year deal at Villa Park, as well as giving new deals to Olof Mellberg, Milan Baros and Gareth Barry. Villa are also eyeing up several targets for the winter transfer window, and I've heard a few of the names being touted around. Former Rangers keeper Stefan Klos has been mentioned, and could be handed an original six month deal with the option of a further year. Also, Wes Brown could be a surprise target, but who knows.
