Phil Jones has failed his medical. FACT!!
Jordan Henderson and Jones were both given time by Stuart Pearce to talk through, agree and sign deals with Liverpool and Man Utd.
Hendersons move went through without a hitch and was announced on SSN tonight just after 8pm.
However Jones showed "small scale damage" from an knee cartilage injury which kept him out for months of last season. Enough for Man Utd to pull the plug.(9)(7)

Fergie's spending spree is not over. Despite signing Jones, De Gea and almost clinching Young, Fergie still wants to add to his squad. He has accepted a 12 million pound package deal for Brown, O'Shea and Gibson but it is likely O'Shea could stay. The central midfield quartet of Giggs, Carrick, Fletcher and Anderson is seen as needing strengthening. We know that Fergie wants a replacement for Scholes and has been looking at deep lying play makers. Sneijder, Modric and Adam had all been touted but for one reason or another are not joining. Steven Defour is a long term target of Fergie's and may be signed or Fergie may continue his search. Nasri is seen as an replacement for Giggs when he retires next year but Fergie knows that he risks Nasri signing a new deal if he leaves it for too long so has made his move now for the Frenchman. Fergie is also looking to add a defensive midfielder to the ranks with Hargreaves now gone. Lassana Diarra and Jack Rodwell are the two prime targets. Ferguson is willing to give Carrick another season to prove himself at United. Carrick had come under fire for his performances but Ferguson is willing to let Carrick prove his worth. James McCarthy, Rafael Van Der Vaart and Marek Hamsik have also been looked at. The positions wanted are deep lying playmaker, creative midfielder and defensive midfielder.

Southampton to complete the signing of Lee Peltier from Huddersfield next week for £600,000.
Anthony Pilkington is set to join Saints but it will happen in January because Southampton manager Nigel Adkins wants him to prove his fitness. The fee that Saints are lining up is thought to be £1.3million.
Jack Cork's move to Saints is becoming more and more likely after Jack said himself that he wouldn't mind coming back to play at St Mary's after Englands friendly against Norway on sunday at St Mary's.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is yet to decide his future but has said to be wanting to stay for at least another year. I heard this from a fan who lifted Alex up when there was an pitch invasion after Saints' promoted party at St Mary's on the 7th of May.
Reports on tuesday said that Nicola Cortese had upped the reported asking price from £10million to £15million.
But if Alex was to leave, I would think it would be to Man Utd because they are willing to offer the most money and possibly some fringe players like Gabriel Obertan.
Arsenal always want to have payments in the deal like 'if he plays for England' etc. Where Man Utd pay all the money staright away which is how Cortese likes it.
With the Theo Walcott deal to Arsenal, Saints got £8million when they were supposed to get around £15million all together with Arsenal paying installments for Walcott playing for England. But Saints didn't get the money and never will do.

BURNLEY are leading the race to sign Jack Cork from Chelsea in a £2 million deal, with Norwich City, Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace and West Ham United missing out. CARDIFF CITY are set to sell striker Michael Chopra to Ipswich Town in a deal worth around £1 million rising to £1.5 million dependant on unknown clauses. The no-nonsense defender has been a major part of Bournemouth's transformation from cash-strapped League Two outfit to League One promotion contenders. He was made captain of the Cherries in 2007, has made nearly 150 appearances for the club and he's still only 23 years old.
Already been heavily linked with a £500,000 move to newly-promoted Peterborough who are desperate to shore up a leaky defence. Cherries chairman Eddie Mitchell has admitted he might be prepared to cash in on the club's Player of the Year, but will only do so if Portsmouth the club where Pearce started out as a youngster but failed to feature lower their 50% sell-on clause. Pompey are so far unwilling to negotiate.
KARLEIGH OSBORNE (Brentford)
Now could be the time for this 6ft 2in versatile defender to move up a level.
Having made his debut for the Bees at the tender age of 17, Osborne who can play at centre-back or right-back has now made close to 150 appearances for the west London club and worn the captain's armband on a number of occasions.

The 21-year-old Liverpudlian left-back has attracted interest from a host of Championship clubs one reportedly Ipswich having helped Tranmere beat the odds a stay up this season.
Having made 80 appearances over three seasons for the Merseysiders, the set-piece specialist is now out-of-contract. And, although he's been offered a new contract by the club, manager Les Parry appears resigned to losing him.
He said: "Aaron has got four or five Championship clubs trying to sign him, if I had to guess I would say he might be leaving us this summer."

A product of Portuguese giants Sporting's prolific youth system, the defensive midfielder blossomed at the age of 26 this season.
Addicks boss Chris Powell wants to keep his Player of the Year, but could be forced to cash in if the former Portugal Under-21 international decides he wants to move on.
He has just a year left on his contract, with League One rivals Sheffield Wednesday having already made public their interest in the player. Would probably cost somewhere between £500,000 and a £1m.
CHRIS TAYLOR (Oldham)
Following six seasons at his hometown club, the 24-year-old a self-proclaimed Oldham fan may now be thinking of testing himself at a higher level.
The 6ft midfielder/forward has been linked with Championship moves to Blackpool, Doncaster and Leeds in recent years. Scunthorpe had a £250,000 bid for his services rejected in January and he went on to finish the season with 11 goals.
JAMES DUNNE (Exeter)
A member of the Arsenal Under-18 side that made the FA Youth Cup semi-finals in 2007, the versatile midfielder joined Exeter in 2009 after being released by the Gooners and seeing a loan spell at Nottingham Forest not work out.
Primarily a defensive midfielder but also able to play wide right, the 21-year-old has been a key part of Paul Tisdale's critically-acclaimed revolution at the Grecians over the last two seasons.

The 19-year-old forward has burst onto the scene at Bournemouth this season with eight goals from 25 appearances. Such was his impact that he has already been linked with Premier League club Fulham.

League One's wonderkid may well be skipping out the Championship altogether with reports that German giants Bayern Munich are ready to give him a trial this summer while an unnamed Premier League club had a bid rejected last January.

-Jason Shackell is set to hand in a transfer request and has been in talks with Scottish side Hearts. Shackell is also set to hold talks with Hull City over a £1 million move.
-Scunthorpe United have put a bid close to £500,000 for Danny Haynes.
-Walsall have offered Jim O' Brien a season long loan deal.
-Goran Lovre has already signed for Southampton on loan with a view to sign for around £200,000 in January.
-David Preece is set to be released and could join Randers in Denmark.
