How come all these so called man utd fans want rid of Anderson. He has had bad injuries over the last 2 seasons but b4 that he was immense for us running the show against players like gerrard and fabregas. Give him a chance we will all be shouting his name as world class in a few years.

Ha all everton fans now saying gosling is rubbish why not just admit you're upset to be loosing him he is a great prospect and future england player. i've heard that west ham have set up a meeting with his agent in the next few days and are hopefull thigs can be sorted pretty queckly. if this comes off then noble and kovac are likely to be sold. editor does this sound realistic to you and do you know of any other west ham rumours?

It's definitely not Ricardo Vaz te in the mystery Leeds player photo. I found this on his wiki– On 30 June 2010 it was reported that Vaz Te had signed a three–year deal with Greek Super League club Panionios.
It's also definitely not Febian Brandy. Maybe somebody won a competition to train with the squad for a day, who knows? {editor's note – the PFA have Vaz Te listed as a free agent still, so I am guessing his wiki is the usual fabrication done by someone with too much time on his hands.}

Let me just explain best i can to the people of other teams who are trying to guess if we have the money from delph. nobody knows exactly because we ( leeds) are not a plc, but at the time a reporter from the yep who has strong ties and contacts at elland road wrote what he knew about the deal. it was 6 mil paid over 2 or 3 installments over 2 or3 years. with add ons though( appearences, internatianal call ups) the total fee could rise to 8 mil. if that was the case we would have at least 2 mil with more to follow. as far as 'it goes on wages' as some idiot on here suggested, that is se. the chief exec wrote an aricle in the yep stating that all running costs at elland road were covered by gate reciepts as long as we averaged 22000 a game ( we averaged 25000 last season wich leaves more in the kitty). hope that clears up the matter!! having said all that uncle ken is one tight get so i can't see us spending much money. garyd MOT

Man United news:

– Inter Milan have confirmed that United have contacted them about a possible deal for Wesley Sneijder after the world cup.

– SAF was quoted after last season finished.. "Berbatov will not be sold"

– If Vidic confirms he wants to leave then either Giorgio Chiellini or Gary Cahill will be signed to replace him.

– Van Der Sar, Neville, Ferdinand, Scholes & Giggs all need replacing as they all have only 1 or 2 years left in them.

– Manuel Neuer i being looked at as a possible replacement for VDS but after his performance in the WC.. maybe his price tag will throw us off. Neville replacement is obviously Rafael who has great potential. Ferdinand replacement (when he retires) is Smalling. Sneijder is a 100% true rumour as a Scholes replacement as confirmed by the Inter president. Nani I believe will replace Giggs on the left of midfield.

Re the long running Cesc story. Graham Hunter (British journalist based in Spain) made the point on Radio 5 last night that Wenger had been clever, (as others have pointed out today on the site), about whether Seb would get a game for Barca and is therefore less likely to move. But he did go on to say that he reckoned that if Barca were able to unload Ibra then it was highly unlikely that the Gunners would be able to keep him.

Chelsea have signed Kalas for 5m from Czech side ''Sigma Olomouc'' he will return to them on loan for a year and will be the long term replacement for Bosingwa, next year is certainly bosingwa's last year and Chelsea are looking to the future.

It looks like i am spot on with Chelsea's spending this year, Belletti has been replaced with Kalas although Ivanovic and Bosingwa will play at right back next season. Benayoun has replaced J.Cole and Matic will replace ballack although Essien and Mikel will play for the majority of next season.

Expect Chelsea to buy Lukaku from Anderlecht, he will cost close to 10m and i would imagine that will be it for Chelsea this summer, one or two more youngsters will be signed but that will pretty much be that.

Celtic looks as if the have just got bargin of the centuary if you go on the bbc website and look at the agent speakin on the video he says they are impressed with a club with this size.And with the likes of liverpool interested in him ive got to say well done for i think the spl will love the players of ledley and bullard comin to celtic.

• • • Celtic Football Club • • • Joe Ledley arrived in Glasgow at around 6pm, deal will be thrashed out tonight and could be on club's official website tonight. Will definetly sign within the next 24 hours. Jimmy Bullard was at Parkhead and Lennoxtown today and should sign by Friday night at the latest I would imagine. I have been told by a close Celtic source that they are expecting an answer from Sol Campbell sooner rather than later could be done and dusted within the next week. I was also told that Gary Hooper talks are at an advanced stage because thy had already started before Middlesborough started sniffing about which interrupted things but now Kris Boyd has signed for them talks have continued and are almost complete according to my sources. The wheels are beggining to turn at Paradise and The Hns will be shaking in their boots, god help them next season.

Just been reading about and i looked at Steven Taylor's wiki page and it indicates he is on the verge of a move to Liverpool. I know wiki pages can be edited but it seems strange as I seen something suggesting he was ready to move to Liverpool. Ed, you reckon he would be the kind of player we should be looking at , maybe Carra's replacement. And also with the new rules coming into place. Have you heard anything more about Liverpool while where on the subject? {editor's note – I really don't rate Taylor, forget the fact he is one of the worst cheats I have ever seen, I just don't think he is a good player. The only reason I could see to sign him would be to fill a home grown quota.}

I didn't post the piece you replied to, but come on common sense would point to the fact that rangers can't afford 45k a week, if bougherra is or isn't the highest paid doesn't really matter, its well documented that rangers are on a very tight budget and the reported 5mil for transfers may also cover wages, so if Bullard does come to Scotland he will be wearing Green and White.

Hopeful, though slightly worried Man Utd fan. {editor's note – I think Carrick will be on his way soon, may not be this summer but it won't be much longer. Ferguson is searching too hard for midfielders at the moment, and it is not going to be Fletcher or Gibson who make way. I don't think it will be this summer though, just in case Hargreaves isn't the same player he was before his injury. I can definitely see Carrick making way though, he looks old when I see him play, I know that might sound strange but he just looks like he is running through treacle at times, that is normally a good indicator that someone's legs have gone. Ozil is very much a possibility as his cub want to sell him before his contract expires and he has gone on record as hinting at wanting a move to the EPL. Not so sure about Muller and Khedira as I don't know enough about them, I have not seen any interviews with them other than with the German squad. Benzema is a tough one, he struggled last season but Jose has said he will get a chance next season so he might want to stay. I mean who wouldn't want the chance to play for Jose?}

–Dan Gosling has left Everton on a free transfer and could be on his way to Newcastle as they are looking to offload Alan Smith, although he probably will end up staying due to a lack of interest. Martin O'Neill is also interested in taking him to Villa Park but he isn't their first choice.

–Joe Cole will agree to sign for Tottenham in the next 2 weeks. Cole was hoping for a move to Man Utd. Spurs are also readying an £8m bid for Micah Richards.

–Javier Mascherano may still leave Liverpool for around £25m this summer as Roy Hodgson would rather sell him than Gerrard or Torres. Although Torres will seek talks with the club about it's plans for the future. I still expect Torres to leave for anywhere between £30m – £45m.

–Igor Akinfeev has been sounded out by Man Utd about joining them for free at the end of this coming season as they now see him as the replacement for Edwin van der Sar. Arsenal may also join the race for him but Utd are Igor's first choice. He also hasn't ruled out staying at CSKA.

I can shed some light on the D Wilson to LFC question, Liverpool were very keen in the beginning but three things stalled the move 1. Rangers decided to up the price 2. LFC also know his contract is running out so the upped price with this and the fact that Danny wants to join LFC put a lot of doubt into the move now especially as LFC's budget is tight 3. He does not meet the 'homegrown' quota for the EPL so therefore they do not want to be heavily spending on young player with 1 year left on contract that wouldn't help towards this quota (hence the stories linking them with Taylor from Newcastle)

Inter Milan president Massimo Moretti has told SAF to make a bid for Wesley Sneijder that he cannot refuse. United are due to make a £35m bid for Sneijder who joined Inter from Real Madrid for £13.5m last summer.

Rafael Benitez has told Moretti that he wants Javier Mascherano at Inter Milan. Now, Inter Milan definately do have money to spend so I'm not sure why they would have to sell first to buy..

Arsenal have tied up a deal for Laurent Koscielny. £8.5m is the price paid and is the replacement for William Gallas apparently.. Now I read a rumour here a while ago that Gallas would leave Arsenal on a free transfer.. Any rumours as to where Gallas will end up next season?

Joe Ledley is telling friends in Wales that he has agreed to sign for Celtic. As has been reported on Wales Online, Ledley has opted for Celtic ahead of moves to Stoke and despite interest from Liverpool. I understand that Ledley was impressed by the pitch Neil Lennon made to him and "felt wanted" by Celtic. Ledley has been a prime target for the club since it became clear that Neil Lennon was to be appointed manager. Joe Ledley should complete a medical within the next couple of hours and, barring anything unusual, we have been told to expect a press conference tomorrow morning. Ledley's friends say that he is now effectively a Celtic player.

 

I hear that the contract is for four years with a further year option with a salary comparable with our star players. I have also been told to "expect a busy few days" by our usual sources.

With the completion of the Koscielny deal, Arsenal only need to make 2 more signings, provided Fabregas remains at the club. if not, it will need to be 3.
firstly, we need a keeper. Schwarzer has been mentioned. personally, im against the idea. the guy is very experienced, but made crucial mistakes at the world cup and is definitely slowing down. more attractive would be Portugal keeper Eduardo, who is available for a similar fee to Schwarzer despite being 10 yrs younger. he's had a decent world cup and looks better than almunia. also szczesny should be able to oust him in 2 seasons lol.
secondly, we need a DCM, preferably somebody who can also play CB comfortably. I would love to see Khedira, Inler or Melo at the club.
thirdly, if Cesc leaves we will need a replacement. Gourcuff, Oezil and Montolivo are viable options. in any case i would like a move for either Joe Cole or Gai Assulin.
I say let Eduardo leave for everybody's benefit. sell traore, promote Botelho. retain Campbell. let Almunia or Fabianski go.

Just going to make it clear about Fernando Torres. I cannot see him leaving Lfc because Barca are skint and can't pay wages, he hates Real Madrid, he doesn't like Benitez, other italian clubs are too defensive for him and he said if he leaves Liverpool it won't be for another premier league club. Mascherano looks set too leave but Gerrard is happy where he is and thinks that Hodgson will take the club forward .KLOSE to Lfc

Editor – Any news/opinions with regards to Chelsea? Anyone you think they are very likely to bring in? {editor's note – I have nothing new news–wise for Chelsea, they don't look to be making major changes. But then that is not Ancelotti's way, I think it will be 2 more ins and neither big buys and possibly one big signing to shift shirts.}

I am beginning to wonder whether SAF is changing his tune on transfers. With the fan unrest i get the impression the pressure is on the glazers to back the manager after a poor season. Maybe SAF will take advantage of this and we could see another summer like 2007 when we saw nani, anderson and hargreaves come in. Put it this way, if we sell Vidic for £20million (minimum), Berbatov for £10–15million and Carrick for £12million that gives us around £45million on top of any budget SAF has which we'll say for arguments sake is £25million. So a £70million budget would allow us to bring in Sneijder for £35million, Cahill £15million, Ninis £10million and maybe Benzema on loan as part of the Vidic deal. Obviously this is massive speculation but the situation at the club isn't as bad as the doom sayers would like to think. Im not saying i expect this to happen but its possible. Any thoughts ed? {editor's note – there must be some money to spend as United are chasing a striker all of a sudden.}

Come on do people really think thay Harry would exchange one of european footballs most wanted assests for 15 million and a player who clearly has struggling for form over the world cup. I was told Sinclair was available for what I was told was a nominal fee of under a million pounds, it is possible they were expecting to get nothing and suddenly found that teams were willing to pay. Laurent Koscielny will be revealed as Arsenal's first defense signing this summer on Wenger's press conference this Friday. He will be given the #32 shirt (yes, the one Merida used to wear). Should Campbell decide to join Celtic, another CB will be bought, the most probable target – Verthongen (Tommy's partner in the Belgian national team).

Van der Wiel will be pursued only in the case of Sagna leaving, which I sincerely doubt.

Fabregas is going nowhere. Its as simple as that and is down to cash. Barca are unwilling to pay more than 40m, but they just announced that a transfer kitty of almost 80m is available, so AW knows they have enough money and will not settle for less than 50 of those millions. Fabregas himself is on a softer stance now having watched 6 of his "future team–mates" at Barca make the starting 11 for Spain (which he couldn't achieve). Maybe he is already giving some consideration to what Hill–Wood said – he's not guaranteed first team football at Barca. Expect the boy to remain at the Grove for at least another season.

I disagree personally. We need something different in midfield..someone creative and someone who will get his fair share of goals. Schweinsteiger isn't that man. Hes fortunate enough to be part of this German team at the moment which means his stock will rise but i don't see what he can bring to the midfield that fletcher, carrick and a fit hargreaves etc don't already. However i would love to believe the first part is true. If we signed Benzema and Sneijder then i may just wet my pants with excitement. Not sure if its likely though. Liverpool will look to stregthen both the team and the clubs finances by signing 2 opf Japan's best performers in the Worlo Cup, Keisuke Honda and Yasuhito Endo. This would firmly place Liverpool in a great financial and commercial situation in the Far East which is one area of the globe that Liverpool are trying to stregthen their brand. Yasuhito Endo would provide decent cover for Steven Gerrard (who will stay) and Alberto Aquilani who will be first choice central midfielders in the Liverpool squad. Keisuke Honda is a versatile midfielder and would be a perfect replacement for Yossi Benayoun. The only problem with Honda would be a potentially high transfer fee demanded from CSKA Moscow. Roy Hodgson is targeting another versatile player in FC Twente's Bryan Ruiz. He is a natural left sided winger who can also play off the striker. He was used both as a winger and 'in the hole' last year for Steve McClaren and scored an impressive 24 goals in 34 games. As he is Costa Rican, a work permit may be a problem.

Very unlikely to say the least, PSG offered 11m for Anderson in January and it was quickly refused, he will not leave for less than 12m, in my opinion he will not leave at all. Berbatov scored 12 goals for United last season and made even more assists so 11m is way beneath the mark, Bayern, Wolfsburg and AC Milan are all reported to start their bidding at 14m, so he will leave for between 15–18m, Carrick has had a mediocre season for United but he is an England international with bags of international, Champions league experience under his belt, he will fetch between 10–12m no problem.

Editor what do you think these three players will end up going for if they are indeed sold? {editor's note – probably about 15m each is what they will go for, maybe 20m for Berbatov. That is about what I would expect this summer anyway.}

I have never posted as I don't believe in spreading rumours just for the sake of it. I am not an Arsenal fan but I have it from inside the club that Fabregas has been given permission by Wenger to talk to Barca and that a fee in the region of £40–45mil has been agreed. Apparently Wenger has a policy of "if you tell me to my face you want to leave, you can leave". And this is what Fabregas has done.
He is a great player but for that kind of money, I'd back Wenger to pick up a gem to replace him.

Do yourself a favour and stop rating players based upon newspaper valuations and Football Manager. Chiellini is massively overrated. He hasnt got the skill or heart to be a premiership centre half. Subotic has potential but is lacking that extra yard of pace and his needs to work on his awareness and positional sense. Im no Arsenal fan but Vertonghen is a very decent player. He can play in defence or midfield, is technically sound and already has a good working partnership with Vermaelan from their Ajax days together. Then again i imagine that you were one of those people that said "who the hell is vermaelan"

Gosling will not sign for anyone who aren't willing to play him center midfield. Also he is currently injured with a "Ruptured Cruciate Knee Ligament" which means he will be out of action till Late 2010/Early 2011. This therefor means that he wouldn't be able to pass a medical.

Everton will resign and Moyes will be willing to give him center midfield starts as we have Seamus Coleman to cover right back.

To the person dismissing the Van Bommel rumour – although I accept your logic. Arsenal haven't released Gallas and Campbell because they're over 30. Gallas wanted an inappropriate pay rise which wasn't ever going to be offered and Campbell is still assessing his options, he's not technically been released.

So they're not really very good examples to use. In fact, it's fair to say that Wenger has no problem with signing someone over 30, he just generally only offers a 1 year rolling contract – though Gallas got offered 2 years, but like I say, wanted more money so is off.

Ed, sorry to bug you (especially as you seem to be getting everyone asking you for the insider info these days) but someone named Paul Lagan from Chelseamad.co.uk is claiming that Chelsea will sign Torres within two and a half weeks. He quotes 'inside sources at the club' which is obviously suspiciously vague. Is there anything in this? I get the feeling Torres IS about to join Chelsea and this probably means only one thing – that we have no budget for quality players??!! {editor's note – I would suggest he is just taking a chance on being proven right, no one knows yet what Torres is going to do. I really seriously doubt he will sign for Chelsea, I wouldn't be surprised if he left Liverpool though.}

Regarding the assorted transfer rumours for liverpool football club, i would be very surprised is Gosling will be crossing the park. Sky Sports News is today reporting he demanded a guaranteed starting central midfield position (which is quite bizarre to be honest) if they wanted him to sign a new contract. If Everton are both unwilling and unable to guarantee that, I seriously doubt any of the top 7 teams can or will. {editor's note – that explains why the contract issue has come about, whoever is advising him needs a good slap to wake them up! He was getting regular football at Everton, he should have been grateful and worked to prove himself in my opinion.}

You may scoff if you wish but I posted 2 weeks ago of Liverpool's interest in Bryan Ruiz of FC Twente (ed. can you please confirm this?) so I can claim to have a reasonably reliable source. Furthermore there are whispers that there has been an interest from Tinseltown regarding a bid for the club. I am personally a little sceptical as I doubt the club would risk American owners again, but I have heard that 2 well known Hollywood actors are a part of the consortium – Samuel L. INTER CONFIRM UNITED INTEREST

Inter president Massimo Moratti has revealed that Manchester United are interested in taking Netherlands World Cup star Wesley Sneijder to Old Trafford.

A report from Dutcch newspaper De Telegraaf had claimed that the Serie A outfit were ready to offer the midfielder a new contract, extending his current deal, which runs until 2013, by two years.

However, it would seem that United may have other plans for the playmaker, although Moratti insisted that he had not been 'tempted' by the English club's offer just yet.

"The interest from Manchester United in Sneijder is real, but I didn't look into it in an attempt not to fall into temptation, " Moratti told Sky Sport Italia, adding: "Offers for [Mario] Balotelli and Maicon have been too low."

On the question of Balotelli, Moratti also confirmed that the player had not requested to leave the club, despite the rumours claiming that both United and neighbours Manchester City were prepared to tussle for the controversial forward.

"It seems like an advertising campaign to me. In any case Balotelli has not come to me to ask to be sold, " he added.

"I don't understand why a problem has to be created."

Ed, is there any further developments on Milner to Man City? As a Villa fan, if Man City are stupid enough to pay £25–£30m for him, the quicker he goes the better. Would happily take Hart, Ireland + cash for him. I've also heard that Arteta is a very strong possiblity. Not happy that your tipping Robbie Keane to come though, would prefer a bid for Falcao {editor's note – Keane is just my personal feeling rather than being based on good sources mate, you never know you might avoid him. As for Milner, it seems to have stalled, City know the price they have to pay but they are trying to show a little more restraint now, especially with them having no real rivals to sign him currently.}

There is a regular re–occurrance of some statement that Torres won't be able to play in the EPL long term because of the knee injuries / strain. Since being at LFC, out of the last 3 bad injuries Torres has had, 2 of them were gained on international duty, much to Rafa's frustration
Hopefully, with all the St he's getting this world cup, he makes a decision to retire from international football and concentrate on LFC. There is also no way he's going to another EPL team, it just wouldn't make sense and as far as I know, only Real could possibly afford him on the continent, (wage and Transfer fee), and he would NEVER join them. One transfer I think may come to fruition is Pirlo to Chelsea, Milan are more than skint and Carlo loves the player.
LFC to sign a Left Back, Left Winger and a forward as a priority and Hodgson to assess his squad until Christmas and then see what is needed from there.

Steven Gerrard will make up his mind about leaving Liverpool after his holiday. Roy spoke to him and outlined his plans and also the situation with potential new owners and advised Steven not to make any decision on his future after the fiasco of South Africa.
Steven is (quite rightly IMHO) upset at the poor showing of the England team but Roy (showing great man management skills) has told him not to base any decision on how he feels right now.
Steven has been told about potential transfer targets was "delighted" with them.
Fernando Torres has had a phone conversation with Roy, which went very well according to my "insider" so I would hope that he see's sense and stays put for another year at least.
No news on Joe Cole but I agree with Editor, that his best days are behind him.
Latest on ownership is actually as Mr Broughton said. T&G have NO PART of any deal as they have willingly stepped back, so stories of £600–800 million price are way off. My source expects a deal to be done, but perhaps not in time for this transfer window.

LFC TAKEOVER LATEST

Broughton suggested Liverpool will be sold by the end of the summer transfer window and indicated that serious bids are expected in the coming weeks. There are Interested parties who could potentially be the right owners for Liverpool. If the sale can be concluded before the end of the transfer window there could be additional funds made available for Roy Hodgson. There is no Indication as to who the Interested parties are and therefore any rumours about an arab takeover having been already completed are wide of the mark. Whatever the situation Liverpool will be in the hands of New Owners in 3–4 weeks.

– Koscienly has agreed a deal for £7m + addons. He plays on the same side as Vermaelen and plays just like him, so his not gna be a starter.

– Steven Taylor (£5m) plays on the right side of CB and will partner Vermaelen.

– Sol Campbell has been convinced by Wenger to sign another Contract. He was thinking about going to Celtic but they won't do well in Europe so his decided to stay. He will also get quite abit of game time as he will be cover for Taylor. and Koscienly will be cover for Vermaelen and Djourou will be cover for Both of them.

– Vanderwiel (£8m) will sign. Wenger wants him to be the 1st choice RB. Sagna and Eboue don't need to leave because Eboue can play in MF and RW, so noone needs to leave.

I live about 30 mins from pompey and the gym i use is also by used by a member of the backroom staff of portsmouth football club. Now this guy is a top fella and is always approachable and asks how im doing etc etc so i have no reason whatsoever to doubt what he has to say regarding the club. Now what he told me on the weekend was that the club is a lot mkore settled than it was last season and its a nicer place to work. He told me that hes taking the youth team on a tour of america and canada next week. I asked him about potential moves within the club regarding players. He said that the club expect David James to sign a contract this week for 2years but he said that belhajd(sorry about the spelling) is leaving for lazio and its pretty much a done deal..i don't support pompey so have no interest in posting false rumours but i do wish them well and hope they get back into the premiership soon. the keeper section was more a way of attempting to convince other people that almunia was underrated. And I think he only bid for reina because he is top class and anyone would be happy to have a keeper of his ability. I seem to remember his bid was way under what Liverpool would have considered but with the schwarzer thing you have a good point. I was just saying that he will trust almunia because he won't sign schwarzer ( in my opinon he won't, he's already failed in one bid and fulham may ask for too much). But anyway good catch and I suppose it should say, if wenger fails in his efforts to sign schwarzer he will be content with almunia for a short term.
What do you think of the rest of the rumours?

Based on this this we are seriously lacking any midfield punch or depth. We are also looking old, slow, injured and lacking depth at centre back. If Snods form slips (and it does quite often) then we have nobody to push him for his place and finally we have no fast, goal scoring frontman to work off our target men.
I still think we should be good enough to avoid having a relegation fight but I would like to see us pushing for the top half of the table and with the squad as it stands now won't be able to do this.

I am not convinced about any of our signings so far (except Kasper) and can't say I am thrilled by some of the names being banded about.
If the likes of Hooper, Sam, Collins, Russell etc were that good then surely their teams would not want them to leave.


I personally would prefer a couple of young–ish upper coming players that are not quite ready to break into the 1 st team of premiership clubs coming to us e.g Spearing, Watt, Emanuel–Thomas, Delph (he should never have left), Simpson, Mancienne, Cork, Delfuenso etc etc etc.

These players are desperate to show they have talent and coming to a team like Leeds will definitely be a good move.

Now I am sure all you LUFC haters will pipe up straight away and harp on about why would blah blah come to your s!t club. Well the reason is because Leeds are still a global football team. We have fans worldwide and other than the big boys in the premiership there are probably few other teams that have our support base and that is enough to entice players like that to us. Sanchez Watt came to us whilst we were in League 1 don't forget. Its just whether SG wants to rely on youth or experience!

Hi ed do you have any info in regards to Steven Taylor's proposed transfer to Liverpool? I was told he hasn't had a medical and is in talks with Newcastle about a new 4 year deal although an enquiry was made.
All my sources are telling me that Dan Gosling is now a free agent, can't really see him signing for Newcastle although there is currently an agent in Newcastle finalising a transfer of a player from the Manchester/Liverpool area, but that could be anyone. {editor's note – I don't believe there to be anything in the Taylor rumours to be honest, just an agent trying to get his player a better contract. All that has happened with Gosling is that his contract offer was verbal instead of in writing, I fully expect him to sign a new contract with Everton in the near future.}

No source here, just personal opinion. Jose Mourinho already stated that he will not be hasty in selling his star assets who under–performed last season at Real Madrid. He mentioned that all players will be given a fresh chance to prove themselves. This would seem to rule out any chance of Karim Benzema moving to Man United. He signed a 6–year contract last year, and is only 22 years of age. Jose is a clever guy and is not going to sell someone like Benzema in my opinion.

To all these idiots that say Leeds have no money, I would suggest you look back to the Fabian Delph deal, we have spent next to nothing of that fee and we didn't because we were waiting to see if we got into the Championship.
Reason we are signing loads of free agents is because the big money will go on a proven Championship Striker and a Midfielder. What is the point on spending money on theother positions when we can bring in quality for free.
Kasper Schmicehel is a prime example, wanted by other championship teams and some smaller premiership teams, but chose Leeds, as we are still a BIG FISH in the Football World.
People have short memories, all these rubbish teams in the Championship (bar Notts Forest) don't really have anywhere near the History Leeds have.

Almunia suffered a poor season, which culminated in a mysterious couple of convenient injuries, allowing the equally inept Fabianski to take over. Defensively, we have Vermaelen & Djourou, probably Koscielny & either Campbell or a new signing. In midfield a top quality replacement for Fabregas, if he is sold. Up front we have signed Chamakh, so I don't expect any further signings. On the Arsenal site Wenger stated that he wanted to make 2 or 3 signings this summer. I beleive, a keeper, a centre back & a forward. I only see this being extended if Campbell or Fabregas depart.

Chelsea: I can see schweinsteiger & sergio aurgero signing but aurgero only if anelka retires, schweinsteiger will be the replacement for ballack and cole.

So here's my very STRONG rumour.

The takeover at Liverpool isn't going to happen anytime soon, in fact, it probably never will because the chance are it never really existed.

For the past 2 years I've heard people spouting "DIC this", "Rich Arab" that. Let's get real here – Liverpool fans have been claiming this type of nonsense for so long now that to be frank, it's very boring.

In conslusion, Liverpool will NOT be taken over.

Also, word on the street is that Sol Campbell WILL be at Arsenal next season. A low basic topped up by a substantial 'pay as you play' type bonus.

Just because Davie Moyes said that he has sympathy for Luis Suarez, doesn't mean Everton are going to sign him:

It has been reported in various newspapers today that Aston Villa are keen on signing Scott Parker from West Ham. David Sullivan said he would not be sold at what ever offer was thrown at them but that is starting to look like a dying statement.

Parker would cost in the region of £10 – £12 Million but due to West Ham chasing Luke Young and Steve Sidwell maybe the price could be significantly dropped. What this also mean is that Milner would definately de gone and Parker would fill in his role.

Regarding other transfers it is believed on SSN that an £8.5 Million bid has been accepted for Robbie Keane from Spurs. This would explain why Keane was at Bodymore heath yesterday as he come out and said if he was to move he would fancy a move to Villa.

At the end of the day its all speculation around the Parker deal but the Robbie Keane deal is looking and almost certain done deal. Editor do you think any of these will be playin in a villa shirt next season ??

And he said categorically that Paul Hartley has 1 year left on his contract at Ashton Gate. ED – He doesn't seem to have an agent which would fit well with his low profile in the transfer windows and his own personality. {editor's note – that would explain a thing or two, it is much easier to find things out when a player has an agent. Agents have staff that talk to other agencies etc. Plus agents like to leak things when they want to move their client on to another club or get him a new contract, it generates interest.}

The latest (ten days ago) news I have on Ben Arfa is that Marseille would be pleased to keep him (Deschamps spoke to a journalist (I don't recall who) about the player and said that the matter is up to Ben Arfa to resolve himself – the keys are in his hands, apparently).

Ben Arfa had previously said that PSG would be his preferred destination. My understanding is that both Aston Villa and Birmingham City had made general enquiries about the player and that Bordeaux may provide another option. Whether or not Everton have renewed last years interest or not is certainly not clear to me. I am sure that they have not formally approached Marseille recently, but I do know that his agent gave a very vague statement about the player.

If PSG are interested and make an acceptable offer, then I have no doubts that Ben Arfa would move to Paris.

Arsenal keeper situation.

Arsene wenger has trust in almunia for a season or 2 more until wenger feels he can rely on young szczenzhy and mannone to fight for a first team place. Another more reliable option for wenger would be to sign schwarzer as a short term fix costing him £3.5m. however wenger is keen not to waste any money on keepers (as he is looking to the future and trying to build a stronger financial position for the club, as they have yet to pay back lots of debt for the emirates stadium). this is why he will stick with almunia who is in my opinion way underrated.

Defense.

Arsene wenger will secure the signing of laurent konscielny for £8.5m plus add ons in the next week. He will try to keep to his promise to sign a defender before the end of the world cup. He will also look to sign another cb perhaps vertonghen battle with konscielny for a starting 11 spot. Djourou will also be in the running for a starter depending on pre season performences.
Wenger will take this opportunity to allow his youngster to provide back up if arsenal have another terrible season on the injury front.

Midfield.

This is one area of the pitch wenger does not feel he needs to strengthen. With Ramsey, wilshire, Lansbury and eastmond as covers, wenger will perhaps only look to secure one expierienced central midfielder. Van bommel is being considered to fight for a spot with song. Bayern might be willing to let go off their expirienced captain as he ages. He would be eager to link up with van persie and help arsenal achieve sucess.

Foward

With the signing of chamackh the attacking front is now well covered. However, If Eduardo leaves wenger may look to sign babel for the cheap ( Birmingham were interested in him before but now have other interests and roy doesn't rate him) as he does not want to be stuck in the same position as last year, playing midfielders upfront.

I'm an arsenal fan, but i'll come on to them later. First, the talk of Liverpool making huge money signings seems a little ridiculous to me as just because they have a new (and an excellent) manager this certainly does not mean they have found a new pot of money. As far as i am aware they are still a club in turmoil with 2 crazy owners who haven't any cash that can be spent on players. Furthermore big money signings do not generally occur in the midst of handovers. On Arsenal, I believe the only reason we will sign a new attacking player is if Fabregas leaves, this by the way, i think is unlikely as neither club is in a hurry to buy and i think he will leave next year when xavi starts to come to the end of his carrer. Wenger has never once talked of attacking players, gonly of new defensive players this window. A GK, 2 CB's, and a new RB if sagna leaves.

He is busy chasing up free agents, the signing on fees eat into his budget and don't give him the spare cash left over for transfer fees. Febian Brandy is being considered, he has been asked whether he would be willing to join for a trial period. James Cronesberry is another one that has been offered a trial. Teixeira was also considered, but I don't know if he is still an option. Marlon Harewood was contacted, but he was deemed too expensive, his wage demands were high. Glen Little is another one that is being looked at, for his experience as much as anything. Anderson is also a possible, not the United one but the one from Barnsley, Anderson de Silva. Vas Te of Bolton is also under consideration. Those are the ones I have been told, along with a few foreign frees too. I am sure there are more, most managers have huge lists of players at the start of each season.}

Obviously the Derby Fans are bored this morning and have nothing better to do! grow up! Doughty is not selling and as last year we are keeping our transfers close to our chest! expect maybe one of Pratley or Whittingham, I doubt Shorey will come but I am expecting a couple of young players from our European scouts including 1 or 2 left backs as Billy is letting our only left back Julian Bennett out on loan to gain his fitness.

A few questions.

1 – how much do people think Dzeko is actually worth? I've seen him play a maximum of 5 times, but i've never been impressed – 35 million seemed ridiculous. So, people with better knowledge – is he worth it?

2 – how much is Wayne Bridge worth? I'd hate to pay anything over 3 million for him, even before considering his ludicrous wages.

3 – Ashley Young is not worth anything near 25 million! Maybe half that – he's achieved nothing and has no Champions League experience! Milner's good, but up to 18 million maybe.

Walsall Rumours.

Some strong reports coming from the Walsall camp is that they are about to sign Gavin Mahon from QPR. He was born is Birmingham so he is a local chap. A tough tackling midfielder, although 33, he could be the 'leader' we are looking for.

In my opinion i think Aguero would be a better option for Chelsea rather than Fernando Torres as i feel it would give the club a whole different style to attacking especially if Chelsea aquire the marvelous midfield tactician that is Kaka and the attacking full–back Sergio–Ramos all three signings look like they can be accomplished.
Fortunatly Bastian Schweinsteiger doent look like he is coming, this is good for Chelsea as he probably wouldn't adapt well to the Premier League. Also Mesut Ozil is a 50/50 to sign, well he is like this with many clubs' fans thinking he will join them but i think the best club for him would be real Madrid as with their new managr they will certainly win things and if Kaka does join Chelsea, there will be a gap in the starting XI in midfield and he would obviously make it into the first team with Gago & Van Der Vaart being urged to leave as make–weights for people like Gerrard.
I'm not too sure about R.Lukaku's future but i think i remember seeing somethng on a website about him either signing a new contract or sayng he wants to stay for another year.
Mueller will not come if Ancelotti feels he is paying too much for him as i don't think he will gamble atleast £24 Million on 5 performances for Mueller at the World Cup.

Non–League strikers Steve Smith (Poole), Jamie Hammond (Cheltenham Saracens) and Michael Chennells (Windsor & Eton) are to be given 1 year deals at Swindon Town.

However, Jamie Hammond and Michael Chennells will be loaned out until Christmas to Forest Green and Staines Town respectively, in order to keep fit and get match experience.

Also great news, spoke to somebody in the know at The County Ground and Charlie is staying for this season. Forest dropped interest and so Charlie is staying – Joe Garner is now going to Doncaster Rovers on a 2 year deal and not Swindon Town.

In my opinion arsenal should be looking at a strong cb and a cheap reliable option to cover rb and cb. Wenger will moat likely have young cbs to cover for the first choice cbs. Song can also cover for cb with eastmond his cover.

In opinion more than probability I belive wenger should sign:

konscielny (reportedly 8–10m)–this is a definate signing.
Richards (8m)–not very likely but in my opinion would shine as a back up to rb and cb.
Van der vaart (8m) a class player not overpriced and would provide as perfect back up to the attacking minded midfielders.

liverpool never did put a deposit down for a player, the only south americans we were linked with in january were loderio, pastore and diego tardelli, now that roys took over i can't see any of them happening, (btw iam the same guy who told you about dan gosling and replied to you editor about that bitter blue supa)

To whoever said that obviously aint got a clue about rangers if they think that bougherra is the highest paid rangers player. think u might have to look that up dafty and come back on this slaughterin folk when u know the real facts.

I didn't post the piece you replied to, but come on common sense would point to the fact that rangers can't afford 45k a week, if bougherra is or isn't the highest paid doesn't really matter, its well documented that rangers are on a very tight budget and the reported 5mil for transfers may also cover wages, so if Bullard does come to Scotland he will be wearing Green and White.

Im a die hard Arsenal fan and iv seen lrumours from several sources that we are considering making a bid for young Ajax centre back Vertonghen!
Vermaelen and Vertonghen were Centre back partners before Arsenal bought Vermaelen and had worked up a solid partnership together at the back for Ajax.
Vermaelen has been nothing short of amazing since his move to the Emirates so i just wanted to know if there is any truth or a good chance of this becoming a reality?

Yes, there is truth in it – although Vertonghen is left footed – same as Vermaelen and Wenger wants a right footed CB (hence interest in Mertesacker & Tasci – nothing in the Marquez rumours, if Gallas was surplus due to his age then why go for someone just 1yr younger?). Jagielka was Wenger's first choice, but Everton have demanded more than he's worth and we all know Arsene doesn't play those games! Vertonghen and Jagielka can both play holding mid as well as CB, this would provide back up for Song and Diaby too. He is also interested in Ajax's midfielder Christian Eriksen although its doubtful he'll move for the 18r old Dane this summer.

Seen someone claim Alex Hleb's agent has been doing a deal with Arsenal – nice one! Next you'll be telling us David Bentley's on the way back! Non–starter. Why do we need Hleb when we have Arshavin, Walcott, Rosicky and Nasri!

The only true part about that is the admin cock–up by Everton. Liverpool are on the verge of confirming 5 FREE TRANSFERS. Joe Ledley will sign a 5 year deal at Anfield, however he will cost at a tribunal about £3m. Dan Gosling, from bitter rivals Everton, failed to agree a contract in the Blue half of Mersey, and does not feel ready to leave the city. Liverpool have made an offer, and will accept it next week. The contract is a 6 year deal worth £35k per week, and will rise to £45k in his 4th year. Milan Jovanovic will be announced as a Liverpool player this Friday, having signed a 3 year deal. Joe Cole is tossing up his three offers from Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool. He wants to work under a British manager and is split on the decision. Tottenham know there chances of making the Champions League are slim, with the spending spree of Man City, and the near takeover of Liverpool from Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid al Maktoum. Miroslav Klose will agree a 3 year deal at Liverpool to partner Torres up front. His World Cup heroics have put many clubs on red alert, but not Bayern Munich, who are prepared to let him leave for free.

Odds on Joe Cole to join Liverpool have been slashed. Odds have gone from 8/1 to 4/5 for him to be at Anfield next season. A good free signing, certainly better than Babel on the wing.

Worryingly, Gerrard and Torres both look odds on to leave the club. Gerrard 4/7 to leave, Torres 4/6 on Ladbrokes.
Liverpool will never be able to find players of their quality as replacements, but with the £100+ million they could get from these 2, plus the £25 million from Mascherano sale, Liverpool could buy 6–7 quality players and add some much needed depth to the squad.

How would they? They are reserve team players who have achieved nothing significant in the game so far. They would therefore realistically be valued at around £3–4m each (maximum). Carlton Cole however is not worth £14m (more realistically around £8m). As Ferguson would be keen to give these two promising talents match experience I don't see why you're mocking this rumour. I'd say its a fairly lamentable deal – well it would be if Carlton Cole was actually any good! Like Ferguson would ever be interested in paying good money for him!

Ed do you know anything on this alonso back to liverpool rumour? you seem to be the only one on here who is actually a bit clued up about where rumours are coming from and if its a reliable source or not {editor's note – I have to admit I do try and trace the source of everything that sounds credible, you can normally tell how real a rumour is from the source. I have yet to look into the Alonso rumour as I dismissed it as wishful thinking, I just can't imagine any team wanting to let Alonso go. I will check it out and see, but I don't want to get my hopes up because Xabi is top class. I hope it doesn't turn out to be just paper talk!}

Why on earth do fans of these Championship sides think they'll sign Robert Koren?

According to this site (in the last couple of days), he'll sign for Leeds or Preston. He's been released by West Brom. But, he has just captained his country at the World Cup. If he moves anywhere, it'll be to another Premiership side or to a top level side abroad. He won't step down a division if he wants to keep 'captaining' his country. The vast majority of international managers will demand that their captains are playing in a top league.

I'd be amazed if he signs for a Championship club.

England under–21 starlet Dan Gosling has walked out of Everton for nothing – after the Premier League ruled he was free to quit over an amazing administrative mistake.

Gosling argued that he could leave at the end of his contract without any fee on his head because the Goodison outfit had failed to put an offer in writing to him.

And the Premier League carried out a full inquiry, with statements from both Gosling's camp and Everton, before deciding the Merseyside club had slipped up – with the player allowed to go on a free transfer.

Everton wanted Gosling to sign a new deal, with chairman Bill Kenwright making verbal offers but failing to put that in writing by the mid–May cut–off point.

Now David Moyes's club will miss out on a fee. They could have made around £4million at a tribunal if Gosling joins a rival Premier League club.

Versatile Gosling was in and out of Moyes's team over the past two seasons, with his personal highlight being the FA Cup replay winner over Liverpool. He had also been stalling on a new deal for football reasons as he wants to play more often.

Gosling is recovering from knee ligament surgery and will not be able to play for around three months. However he is now clear to speak to any club and negotiate his own terms.

Sunderland and Newcastle United are heading the chase, with West Ham also alerted about his availability. Gosling told the Premier League tribunal that he has not spoken to any other team, but now he will be heading for a round of talks.

The result is a bitter blow for cash–conscious Everton who will be bitter about the outcome. Senior officials all put their case to the inquiry but one basic mistake has cost them a fortune.
Liverpool and West ham are the front runners so far.

In my opinion i think Aguero would be a better option for Chelsea rather than Fernando Torres as i feel it would give the club a whole different style to attacking especially if Chelsea aquire the marvelous midfield tactician that is Kaka and the attacking full–back Sergio–Ramos all three signings look like they can be accomplished.
Fortunatly Bastian Schweinsteiger doent look like he is coming, this is good for Chelsea as he probably wouldn't adapt well to the Premier League. Also Mesut Ozil is a 50/50 to sign, well he is like this with many clubs' fans thinking he will join them but i think the best club for him would be real Madrid as with their new managr they will certainly win things and if Kaka does join Chelsea, there will be a gap in the starting XI in midfield and he would obviously make it into the first team with Gago & Van Der Vaart being urged to leave as make–weights for people like Gerrard.
I'm not too sure about R.Lukaku's future but i think i remember seeing somethng on a website about him either signing a new contract or sayng he wants to stay for another year.
Mueller will not come if Ancelotti feels he is paying too much for him as i don't think he will gamble atleast £24 Million on 5 performances for Mueller at the World Cup.
Ashley Cole will be part of the deal for Sergio–Ramos or shall i say: Ramos will be part of the deal for Cole with £8–10 Million along with him.

Man Utd's main targets are: Gary Cahill(nearly done £13 million), Sotiris Ninis, Alexis Sanchez, & 1 of Karim Benzema or Luis Suarez! Although there is a lot of talk surrounding Sneijder moving to United – my source had no idea about this except the "paper talk".

I know Part Exchanges between clubs are few & far between but United have been touting the likes of Dimitar Berbatov, Michael Carrick, Anderson, Nemanja Vidic & Ji Sung Park to Ajax, Inter, Udinese & Real Madrid along with making it known to interested parties that they are available should the price be right.

I am led to believe Uniteds first bit of business will be Ninis & Cahill in for aprox £22 mill combined & Vidic to join Real Madrid for about £20 mill.

Don't have huge contacts at Liverpool but from what they are saying – Ashley Young will be there come August along with bids for Cattermole, O'Hara, Nedum Onuoha, and Joe Cole is 50/50 between them & Tottenham

i will admit that i do look at the koptalk website i look all over the web for bits of info regarding lfc this is just to back up what im told by my very reliable source at the club i am a fan of lfc and need to know what is going on at the club and relay my info here these are the facts that i know there is no offer pending all players have their price as you can see torres is now being pursued relentlessly by chelsea its my understanding that he has been made aware of the massive financial rewards that he will get by signing for them were talking £200,000 per week after tax that's what abromovic is prepared to sanction to get his man this is chelseas marquee signing no other player in the world comes close to this man not even ronaldo or rooney believe me when i say this and im as gutted as every lfc fan, if we lose him then we may as well throw in the towel and accept our fall from grace believe me it will get worse regardless of what the chiarman and purslow say we need the billionairs owner now yesterday not in a months time when the players have been sold.

you say your a liverpool fan. surely you must be aware that when fernanado signed he took a basic wage cut to come and join his boyhood hero's, THE TEAM HE ALSO SUPPORTS.and the deficit was roughly about 10k a wk, maybe more!! and mainly due to the tax structure in england but nonetheless – A WAGE CUT! so why would a man of this mentality be suddenly driven by money..like most of your posts this one is drivel too. and also, chelsea bombed ballack and cole due to wage cuts to get in line for future UEFA and FA rulings..why would they start flopping in 200k a wk signings???
bottom line is this, if he goes then it won't be for less than £60million maybe £70million upwards–DUE TO MERCHANDISE REVENUE HE GUARANTEES ALONE. this sort of investment in the squad with the £12–15million already there and a few more sales would re–build ANY PREMIERSHIP TEAM! that's roughly, lets say £75million to re–build before you clear the crp out and the mercenaries{mascherano and co}. £75–100million in the hands of a english manager–finally!!! not all bad.

Editor, whats your opinion on the following HOOPS targets:– Campbell, Ledley, Bullard I can't help but think were being strung along by these players to stir up EPL interest. Would love to see Ledley & Bullard join also one of Keane/Bellamy. might be just out of reach for our budget tho.
STIGBERTO {editor's note – it does seem like they are just keeping you on hold in the hope they will get an offer from the EPL instead. Ledley I don't believe has ever hid his preference for the EPL though, I am pretty sure his visit to Glasgow was just out of courtesy. I think Bellamy is the more likely of those 2 to join, Keane seems set for Villa and City would like to get Bellamy out of the Prem, last thing you want to do is give your rivals a decent player!}

We have also recieved a BiG money offer for Cohen again the press reports for once are accurate, linking him with Bolton and again this is quite likely to happen, though I must stress NEITHER are yet a "Done" deal but they are likely.

I am told that the three Amigos are "Done" deals and should be announced shortly

We also have several other signings that as yet nobody has mentioned or know about at least one of which is a big name.

This isn't a rumour, it is 100% a fact! The bookies have slashed the odds dramatically on Joe Cole signing for liverpool in the last 24 hours, and right this minute Coles representitives are in Liverpool talking with Liverpool's representitives about a possible move. Joe Cole could well be on his way to Anfield VERY soon. This will also keep the likes of Gerrard and Torres at the club, by seeing a big star name coming in.(Source) Radio channel. Also two players pretty much 100% coming in are Steven Taylor and Gilberto Silva.

I can confirm Taylor isn't going anywhere and i would'nt say Joe Cole is a big star name? Or is it just me?
I've heard Stephen Ireland could be on his way to Anfield in 9m move. Anyone else heard this??

Fernando Torres wants evidence that Liverpool is moving in the right direction before committing his long term future to the club.

The Spanish hit–man took time out of his preparations for the World Cup semi final to address suggestions that he has been in talks with Chelsea.

Torres dismissed the idea, but did admit that he would need talks over what progress the club is making off the field.

Some reports have suggested Chelsea have already made a bid for the striker, but they are wide of the mark with Liverpool dismissing the idea out of hand yesterday.

Yet the speculation is likely to be a prelude to concerted efforts by the London club and Barcelona to prise Torres out of Anfield.

Yesterday though, the Reds centre forward insisted that he wants to get the World Cup out of the way, and go on his first holiday in three years, before sitting down to listen to Liverpool plans for the future.

"When the World Cup finishes I will speak to the people at Liverpool – they will explain to me the real situation of how things are at present, the future of the club, and I will talk to the new coach, " he said.

"There's time for that, but first I want to finish the World Cup, go on holiday, as I haven't had one for three years, rest and then there will be time to talk about all of that.

"The situation isn't going to change whether we talk soon or later. Honestly, teams won't be able to do anything until the World Cup has finished. The players here prefer to wait – there is time."

Liverpool are adamant that they do not want to sell Torres, and they have insisted they have no financial need to cash in on the striker.

So far, there have been no bids, and two things would have to happen for any sale to proceed. The player himself would have to demand a transfer, and the fee would need to justify any sale, as Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Madrid did last summer.

There were some suggestions that Torres will speak to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich in South Africa, but that is sheer fantasy given that the Spanish camp is in lock–down as they attempt to win the World Cup.

Abramovich is in fact in South Africa as part of Russia's 2018 World Cup bid, though Liverpool are bracing themselves for the billionaire to back a serious attempt to sign Torres.

New manager Roy Hodgson has already spoken to his star striker, and will travel to Spain for a meeting before the 26 year old jets away on his much–needed holiday.

Club officials are hoping they can show Torres that a takeover deal is imminent, which will turn around the club's financial fortunes, and restore them as a leading player in European football.

People stop thinking your club is going to sign every player in the world!

Chelsea: I can see schweinsteiger & sergio aurgero signing but aurgero only if anelka retires, schweinsteiger will be the replacement for ballack and cole.

Man utd: I can also see manchester united signing either Ozil or sneijder and signing benzema, suarez or fabiano but not all of them maybe 2 or 3, i can also see the lights of carrick, berbatov and anderson leaving.

Arsenal: if fabregas doesn't leave you might get joe cole or he might go to spurs but you will proberly not sign anyone if fabregas stays.

Liverpool: I can see you signing a striker, midfielder, defender but the won't be world class and torres may leave which gives you more money for players

JD {editor's note – I can only tell you which ones I have heard, it is entirely possible that some of the others might happen though. I have heard of a bid for Nugent but the price was too high, Healy was an option but I don't know if Rangers have actually bid for him or not. Tommy Smith is a confusing one, I have heard Rangers bid for both of them, Pompey wanted too much for their one and similar with Ipswich but I wouldn't be surprised if Rangers made another bid. Welcome was supposed to be flying to Scotland after a break following the World Cup, I don't know if that is still the situation though. Brunt was just too expensive to even be considered, but Conway was approached, I don't know any more on that one though either. Koren wasn't interested as he wants to stay in England and his wages were too high anyway. The Aussie is the one with the Eastern European name right? I have heard of interest in him if it is the same guy. There is another player who plays in Holland Rangers went for and were given permission to speak to, I don't know who it is, just that Smith was extremely unhappy with his attitude. Something to do with him seeing the club as a mere stepping stone to the EPL, he wanted too many clauses allowing him to leave if certain clubs bid. I would love to know if anyone could tell me who it is?}

Before i get any grief let me explain my position..im a scouser living in cardiff and therefore have interests in my beloved liverpool and cardiff cityon cardiff first the transfer embargo will be lifted later this week when joe ledley finally signs for stoke city..cardiff do not have much money but its not all doom and gloom..expect another play off push off the bluebirds. regarding liverpool i have no idea what the situation is regarding takeover or transfers in and out apart from the fact that torres will join chelsea this summer

Im a die hard Arsenal fan and iv seen lrumours from several sources that we are considering making a bid for young Ajax centre back Vertonghen!
Vermaelen and Vertonghen were Centre back partners before Arsenal bought Vermaelen and had worked up a solid partnership together at the back for Ajax.
Vermaelen has been nothing short of amazing since his move to the Emirates so i just wanted to know if there is any truth or a good chance of this becoming a reality?

Charlton are hoping to sign Liam Rosenior and have offered a contract.

Also Bournemouth have accepted an offer from Charlton for Brett Pitman. The offer consists of £300,000 (which could raise to £500,000) plus Izale McLeod. However they are unwilling to let the transfer to go ahead, until they find a short–term replacement for Pitman, while McLeod recovers from surgery.
