Free agent Freddie Ljunberg could be heading to Manchester City with Mark Hughes being very keen about the former the Hammers and Arsenal star. City are likely to offer the Swede a good pay package on a two year deal after missing out on top target Ronaldinho.

David Moyes is on the verge of making a surprise move for Portsmouth forward David Nugent while also pursuing a deal for Joao Moutinho.

I have heard on good authority that Alan Smith story is merely to throw tabloids of the scent of two signings that DM and BK are interested in. Johnson will go through for initial £9 million, then up to £12 million on appearances etc. etc. Once this goes through, Moyes will quickly use part cash to bring in a midfielder. Manny will be back on one year loan to appeae fans. Am hearing that Gosling, Rodwell will have big parts to play this season hence the cash not that evident, however before end of August, although very late, Moyes will have his five signings. Moutinho will be signed at whatever cost, however this will only be done to keep fans quiet, the others will be more conservative in terms of money as BK waiting for backers to take the club from him and is not wanting to be remembered in same fashion as Peter Johnson. We will get the big one, and four others however the kids will be blooded.
I work at the Emirates stadium and the word going around is that Arsene is close to completing a deal for Brazilian Wonder–kid lulinha from corinthians. It's also well known that he wants to bring in another central midfielder, that player will be none other than danielle de Rossi from AS Roma, at a cost of £16 million.
West Bromwich Albion will sign Liverpool forward Krisztian Németh on a one year loan deal on Friday, my brother is the fitness coach and was told that this was near enough a done deal after having a medical with West Bromwich on Wednesday.
To the Arsenal fan who said they would sign Yakubu for £7 million please can you wake up and smell the coffee. Everton paid 11.6 million for him last Summer that was before he grabbed himself 26 goals.

Everton will complete the signings of.

Jao moutinho–17 mill
Joaquin–10 milion
Diego millito– 7.5 mill

outs. just Andy johnson

there is however a strong rumour that xabi Alonso will join best friend Mikel Arteta at Goodison in the next few weeks.

also Everton will be sold by chairman this week for a reported sum of 300 million.

remember you heard it hear first. was info givin off a friend who spoke with kieran agard the Everton reserve forward.
Do not know where all these Man United fans are getting their information but they are wrong. Sergio Aguero is on record as being a Liverpool fan from his days when he was playing for Independiente. He has already stated that he does not want to go to Chelsea (just like Elvis Costello – ha.) and he is unlikely to go to Liverpool's fiercest rivals United. He will stay at Atletico for another couple of season's then move to Anfield.
With Rangers out of Europe Kris Boyd is looking to Dave Jones to sign him for Cardiff City.
Why would Everton sell Yakubu for £7 million a year after they bought him for 12 and he scored 20 goals in his debut season? Stop talking pony mate. Anyway, as soon as A. J goes, the new faces will start to arrive at Goodison probably starting with Mouthino for £15 million rising to 18.8 million based on qualifying for top four and appearances. Bents 15 goals in three games or something has doubled his value so expect D. M to use his young guns this season. I cannot see him going for Milito or Alan Smith, but Owen maybe, although this would mean a 4–4–2 formation which Moyes is not keen on, but maybe it's the change we need to challenge this season. Expect a bid for Michael Johnson who is stalling on a contract at City especially in the wake of their pot of gold running dry. Downing is always on Moyes' radar and he may attempt to reunite him with the yak at Goodison. The kirby decision will be announced before the 15th and a leaked memo suggests they have been given permission for the initial project never mind the "scaled down" option that was thought to have been put forward. Expect a host of new investment and while it may be too late for the start of the season expect most of the players listed if not all at Goodison by the end of the month, along with the icing on the cake. Moyes signing his new five year contract with a war chest every Summer but he HAS to break the top four stranglehold. Good times ahead Toffees.
Celtic have moved on to new targets after dropping interest in tamas and basa as these were smokescreens to lawells behind the scenes work.
Celtic will complete the signing of Wonder–kid Crossas, Duff and Mezelder of Real Madrid and the loan signing of a big player from the top 4 in England ( defensive midfielder ).
Wages to fund these will be generated from the departures of Large earners Balde, Graveson and Donati aswell as the extra tv money due to Rangers exit from Champions League. Killen and Riordan are linked with Hearts and Hibernian aswell. All this business to be done by next Saturday. CH
To the guy trying to determine where Sunderland's £15.5 million transfer kitty is coming from (I would imagine from investment rather than through basic maths): Russell Anderson to St. Mirren? For £1 million St. Mirren's record transfer stands at £400,000 for Thomas Stickroth in a time when the club, like most in Scottish football, was financially better off. Having said that, I would be over the moon if you were right. but you're not.

the open mind
Just seen Yves Makalambay and Freddie Ljunberg at Celtic ground epect these signings to be announced very shortly.

Mon the hoops
Exclusive Arsene Wenger has enquired about Andrea Pirlo and Milan got Flamini on a free so they have cover for Pirlo and are Willing to let him go for £15 million, Pirlo is willing to accept Arsene Wenger's contract terms of a three year deal on £70,000. This is exclusive news I work in Arsenal backroom staff, This is Neil BAnfield I could potentially get fired for this because of exposing Arsene's target but it is just so exciting for us and I cannot wait for the World Cup winner to arrive. The deal should be completed by Monday 11th August 2008 10: 30am.
Can I just say that I am good friends with Darren Fletcher and he will be a Celtic player by 14/08/08 as he has already been at parkhead for a medical and is close to personal terms.
West Bromwich would like James Collins, Abdoulaye Meite, Kevin Thomson and Per Skjelbred of Rosenborg but will not pay over £2 million for any of them.
Gary O'Connor to join up with Derek Riordan at Hearts.

  EFC breaking news

In light of the Kirkby new stadium call in Moyes has suddenly been released massive funds in the hope that short term success and Champions League action will attract investors – that is the new strategy anyway – it's all the board can do now.

Xabi Alonso is the first – he was seen at Finch Farm yesterday and will be a massive surprise. We all know about Moutinho. MBia and Milito which will go through rapidly now the cash is suddenly available. Alan Smith is to be abandoned – Gutti from Real Madrid is on his last year of his contract and wants to come to the Premier League – this is his chance to be the maestro of Goodison Park.
Paul Dickov is joining Leicester City on a free transfer on Thursday. R Savage will not however be following Dickov on a journey back to LCFC.

Conrad Logan to be signed on a six month loan by Stockport County.

These moves will all take place before Saturday's match.
To the person who says Yakubu is on the verge of a "shock" move to Arsenal, check your source next time, Everton hav agreed a £17 million fee for moutinho and Yakubu is extremley happy with Everton's major coup. aresnal are however bidding so far unsuccesfully for miguel veloso and sporting want £18 million for their best player. now Everton factS. In: moutinho (17 million), Manuel Fernandes (6. £25 million) set to be completed by Saturday, and will chase one unnamed player beleived to be ever banega from Valencia to replace Lee carsely. and possibly the signing of Darren Bent if Tottenham bring in arshavin.

  Cardiff City rumour
i have it on good authority that Dave Jones has bid £1.5 million for Blackburns Matt Derbyshire.
Jones watched him in friendly at Wolves.
The Hammers news. LLjunbergs contract termination was due to personal problems involving his father who has criminal charges against him in Sweden. The real pay off figure was £1.5 million. the Hammers are desperate for another forward as Carlton Cole has looked awful in pre–season and Sears is not ready. Saha is seen as a possibility but his injury record is a big worry. They have offered to loan him for a season with an option to buy if he proves his fitness. Nani has recommended Cavani and balotteli from Italian clubs and one of these will arrive on loan next week with a view to a permanent deal. Joe Mattock also be joining as understudy to McCartney.

Outgoing will be Gabbidon, Collins, Quashie and Etherington. The good youngsters will not be loaned out as Curbishley intends to use the extra subs places this season to bring the best of the youth into the first team, ie Sears, Collison, tomkins and Hines.
