Rafa benitez may well be off to juventus after all as kevin kuranyi (who benitez campaigned all thru the january window to sign) is reportedly close to agreeing to sign for juve in the summer when his contract with schalke expires. also with barcelona set to renew there interest in david villa and liverpool offering mascherano a new improved contract, he looks set to stay.
city are keepin tabs on gonzalo higuain with contract talks stuttering at real madrid. but i wouldn't count on any BIG name signings at city this summer. ater all it is still man city (u can spread chocolate on shit but its still shit).

Tony Mowbray, Grant and Venus will all be away within the next 14 days.
Mowbray has AGAIN offered his resignation which third time lucky has been accepted.
Paul Lambert has been sounded out for the position and stated his serious interest but won't leave Norwich mid season and it looks as though David Hay will be asked to work along with Neil Lennon to look after first team business until the seasons end.

Walcott to Man City for 25 million..HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!Do u watch the same walcott i do!!Seriously if he is worth 25 million Ronaldo was a bargin at 80.

Also Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has said the only players to leave Arsenal will be on a free and none will be sold. He said 2 players are almost done on the free.Could be Chamakh and Joe Cole.
He said that in an interview with the Sunday Times after Arsenal announced record profits and he said AW could spend as much as he likes.
Apparently he will be watching Felipe Melo after he has only started 12 games for juve this season and both parties want to separate.

Pompey News:

After being correct about Victor Cattermole being the favourite to take over Portsmouth, I can now reveal the following:

The Cattermole consortium is eager to inject funds straight away, but has a long term strategy in place – something Pompey have not had for ages.

They accept that they will be in The Championship next season, but the biggest challenge is off the field where they will have to work hard at restructuring the debts incurred during Storrie's mismanagement of the club.

There will be no more haemorrhaging of cash funds, and a new financial 'overseer' is expected to be appointed shortly. It's expected that there will be an entirely new squad for next season, so players moving on will help the cashflow situation.

It will be a long hard road back for Pompey, but we'll be back in the Premiership one day soon.
The important thing is survival.

I work in Lithuania and have been tipped off by a friend that Interpol are set to interview Vladamir Romanov about alleged bank fraud at the UBIG Investment Bank.

Also, they are looking into money transfered by UBIG into the accounts of newly appointed Lithuanian directors at Weymouth to ensure that money has not been illegally invested.

Rafa will not be handed bags of money for summer but will have a fair bit to get the squad up to standard. Expect some of the following
CB: Kjaer(9–11m) Fairly likely

LB: Taiwo(10–13m) If price can be negotiated.

CDM/CM: J. Martinez(12m) Rafa a fan, quite possible.

LW: Juan Mata(22m). Liverpools big signing of the summer, with 22m enough to tempt Valencia.

Jovanovic(Free) Already finalised.

Expect Skrtel, Reira, El–Zhar to leave. Babel to stay, given one more season to shine.

Rumour that LIverpool Football Club will try to get oan Everton player onboard in the summer. Not sure who it is but Steven Pienaar or Jack Rodwell could be. My money is on Leyton Baines as needed in his position and he is a Liverpool supporter and would jump at the move.

They will not sell unless the offer is just too good too refuse, we're talking Billions here not the mere millions that Utd owe.White Knights are just a front for a company that will never get near the reds
Rooney will be gone soon, maybe in the summer but in the next twelve months for sure, rumours of Spain are false, if he leaves England it will be for one of the milan sides

Just been told that Boyd has joined Nottingham Forest after passing his medical it will be signed after 4 today

Otherwise tomorrow morning; also cohen will be moving to left back and moving anderson to the more natural right

Man Utd Rumours:

Expect big changes in the summer.

The Glazers are beginning to crack and are considering leaving Man Utd.

The protests made at yesterday's Carling Cup Final shocked them, and Sir Alex has apparently said that if those 'Yank b.rds' are still there in June he will quit the club with his conscience and reputation intact.

The Yank bas err.Glazers know just what Sir Alex means to the club and fans – losing him would be the last straw and there would be anarchy!

David Gill has been talking with potential investors, and David Dein has offered to help in return for a board place (ex–Gooner Chairman but I think Man Utd fans can live with that!)

I know all this because I work at Man Utd and the Glazers are getting over 100 'very nasty' letters a day from fans. A suspect bag being found near the Director's Box, at a recent home game – so be under no illusions that the Glazers are very rattled.
––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
I have heard something that completely contradicts this story, i am not saying your rumour is not true, but i have heard Alex Ferguson is behind the Glazers 100% because they have stuck to their word and the Ronaldo money is still there to play around with, United have spent 30M on Valencia, Obertan, Diouf & smalling and apparently the 50M left has to last them two more seasons, because the deal was the 80M had to last them three years. They will not be getting anymore but i think the manager may blow it all this summer? Who Knows?

02 Mar 2010 11:52:25
Newcastle are linked with summer transfur moves for chelsea hot prospect daniel sturrage and jermain beckford and also spurs midfielder daivid bently if promoted

02 Mar 2010 11:20:26
About a month ago i stated United will make a one off 20million take it or leave it bid for Di Maria & that it should be enough to get their man, 45m, 28m, and even 25m that the papers have been quoting are just a little bit high, Benfica are a pretty poor team, a one off payment of 20m should seal the deal, makes sense of why they have offloaded Tosic to make room for another, United made a bid in january for him which was turned down, that was Nani plus 7m, Nani was playing poorly at that time though, Di Maria is a quality player, with Park, Valencia, Nani & Di Maria as United's wingers, that could be pretty scary for any opposition team.

Rodwell i have recently heard is a dead cert to join United & they are willing to pay up to 20million for him, Kenright could not turn that down! not when i have also heard they are keeping very close tabs on Moutinho & Veloso, it could be a good summer for the Red Devils & the Toffee's!

Some big rumours circulating around Liverpool:
Rafa has apparently been given a decent budget for the summer, around £40m. The yanks want to go out with a bang and say to the fans "Look, we have given funds, see!" Now we all know this isn't true, but they want to TRY and show the fans there was no issues. Rafa will use the money given to strengthen, with many players not up to standards. At the minute Reina is probably the strongest and most consistent keeper in the world but Rafa has problems with his deputy Cavalieri. He is looking at Mickael Landreau for £5m from Lille, so Cavalieri could be out for around £6m to AC Milan. Defensively Rafa wants a new right–back and central defender. The CD is an obvious one, with Rafa keeping close tabs on Danish international Simon Kjaer, however who he replaces has changed in Rafa's mind. Kjaer is the long–term replacement for Carragher but he will stay on. Kyrgiakos was the man who would leave but after some great performances it is now Skrtel who will go, with Man City sniffing around for £10m, meeting Rafa's target price. Skrtel doesn't want to be a backup though and will probably end up at Atletico. RB will see a surprise move for Steve Finnan for 500k. If not then Anthony Vanden Borre for £5m.
Degen will leave for £3m.
Midfield will see Gerrard pushed back into central midfield to partner with Mascherano, who will now stay at Liverpool after finding out that Fabregas is Barca's no. 1 choice. Javi Martinez will sign for £10m to make a solid centre midfield of Gerrard, Mascherano, Lucas and Martinez. Right mid will see Kuyt and Benayoun, left mid will see Babel and Maxi and finally attacking mid will see Aquilani in his natural position with Pacheco behind him. There will still be moves though, with Fran Merida possibly joining on a free and Jonjo Shelvey gone for with a £3m bid. Finally up front will see Torres and Jovanovic joining up on a bosman. Nemeth and El Zhar will leave for £4m and £1m respectively.

Also on the Everton front Moyes will try for Landon Donovan on a permanent basis in the summer with a bid of £6m being made. Rodwell will be off to Arsenal for £15m.

I'm a taxi driver and had Avram Grant in the back of my cab. Overheard him talking on the phone saying that he's fed up with Portsmouth but will stay till end of season. He thinks they won't get a point deduction and the takeover will take place in a months time. He's looking at getting Heskey and Carvallho in over the summer with Beckham on loan.

02 Mar 2010 00:47:46
Cardiff City WILL be taken over by the end of June.

However, the takeover will not be by the Malaysians or any previous consortium linked.

Peter Ridsdale has been in contact with a prospective buyer for a month, and has agreed to hand over control pending due diligence checks.

Expect a big promotion push from the Bluebirds next season!

D.S.

Some Non–League news:

Wrexham have rejected an offer from an un–named consortium for control of the club, as director Geoff Moss demanded that the Crusaders could use the ground for the next five seasons.

This was something the new owners did not want, so they've pulled out after offering £1m for the club.

02 Mar 2010 03:32:50
Cardiff's Assistant Manager, Terry Burton, was deeply unhappy at the dressing room incident involving Peter Ridsdale and David Jones on Saturday and has applied to either manage or coach at clubs near his native London.

Unconfirmed rumours are that he may be offered the Gillingham manager's job in the summer, whilst Barnet and Southend United are also keen on his services.

Interesting news for notts forest fans

firstly i am a derby fan so please don't shoot the messenger, my source works in the city and has given me a couple of interesting tidbits on forest.

firstly notts forest have secured a new sponsorship deal with virgin F1 motorsport which will start june 2010 and last 3 seasons, to be worth around 2 million pounds

second bit of news is that nigel doughty has reduced his financial exposure to forest after having to sell some funds in his investments company to pay for redemptions. this is the reason i was told why notts forest were unable to complete any new transfers of their primary targets in january and for the summer the transfer kitty will be 2.5 million and not 5 million.

thats all i have for now, oldjom

01 Mar 2010 22:47:28
Man city will be signing matt upson from west ham is a swap deal with steven ireland in a perminant deal and joe hart on loan for 2 seasons west ham may also recieve a minimal fee. to make room for harts arrival green will be sold for around £5million and this money will be spent on a replacement for upson or possibly even a striker depending on how well ilan and mido do as if they adapt well there contracts will be made longer both another season ilan perminant and mido a season loan with option to buy

01 Mar 2010 23:26:27
Liverpool will be going to Spain this season to strengthen their left side of play. Juan Mata could be joining the Anfield club for around 22m. Adriano of Sevilla will also join the club for around 12m. Fran Merida will join on a free and Albert Riera will leave the club, returning to his homeland.
