Miralem Sulejmani will join West Ham by the end of the week on a loan with a view to a permanent move.

They deal has fully agreed by everyone involved, the only thing stopping Sulejmani signing now is the fact that Ajax's replacement for him, Mounir El Hamdaoui, was not signed in time to be registered for this round of the Champions League so they need Sulejmani to play in the 2nd leg on Wednesday.

Expect the confirmation late office hours Thursday or sometime Friday.

I told you in the last couple of weeks about Kayal to Celtic, Keinan to Blackpool and Ben–Haim to Westham.
now:
Westham signed Tal Ben–Haim. 3 years deal. it's finaly done.
Guy Assulin is training (on Trial) with Man City.
Birmingham are interested in Tsepo Mesilela, the LB of Maccabi Haifa and South Africa. he is very quick and has a good technic ability. if they do sign him, expect to see many assistes from this guy, great player (IMO he can be a good and cheap option for Liverpool if the takeover doesn't happen and if Insua leaves).

Liverpool fan from Israel.(3)(2)

I have just seen flamini at arsenals traning ground in st albans there has been talk of him y would he be there if he is not signing?

Because he was playing for Milan in the Emirates Cup this weekend and was merely visiting old friends. There's nothing else to it than this – sorry! If you'd been at the match on Sat/Sun, you'd also realise that Flamini is as popular as a Melton Mowbray stall at Finsbury Mosque! He's done jack sht since he left and only gets a game when either Seedorf, Beckham, Pirlo or Gattuso are injured/suspended. Emmanuel Frimpong also made him look decidely average on Sat afternoon.

CB: Mertesacker (£11M) is main target with Subotic (£16M) closely behind. Back up also being looked at in Emir Spahic. With City having to trim their squad, Vincent Kompany is another player Wenger has long admired and if the price was right (£4–5M), a permanent deal could be done.
GK: No deal for Schwarzer, but Osasuna will take Almunia for around £3m if Wenger can replace him by Sept. Seb Frey and Maarten Stekelenburg are the two main targets but Wenger is playing a waiting game in the hope that he can land a deal for Joe Hart should Mancini opt for Shay Given as his No.1. This would only be a 1yr loan deal however.(3)(8)

 02 Aug 2010 22:02:35
The whole mcgeady scenario is becoming a huge problem for celtic i've heard from a good source that he will only leave the hoops for a spanish team (family reasons) but it looks like the celtic board are pushing for his sale and clearly the bigger the fee the better and unless there's a miracle in the champo qf's this money will be used to cover our losses but i think we could do with a decent goalie and let the rest of the bhoys gel to many players at one time never works(6)(6)

 02 Aug 2010 22:04:01
For anyone that believes the bellamy coming to glasgow on stv news it is a lie. you can watch tonights episode on the stv player online if you don't believe me.(7)(7)

RE: STV News at 6 has shown the media frenzy at Glasgow Airport gathering for the expected arrival to Glasgow Airport of Craig Bellamy!

This is a really good site posting blatant lies which is so easily disproved just makes you look despererate and stupid and devalues the site. i know your starting to panic about the season ahead but keep it real.

same with the steve davis rumours, he may well leave rangers although i doubt it very much, but if he does it will be for a lot more than 5m. and to give a source as Loyds Bank Please who in loyds bank is deciding who comes and goes it all smacks of desperation and bitterness.

Walter smith has said he is in his last season. he will never be in a more powerfull position within rangers. hes just won back to back doubles without making a single signing. hes a wealthy man and not in need of the money.do you really think he would stay on for another year without certain gaurantees, Hard to imagine him accepting someone at the bank formulating transfer policy.(7)(4)

To this:
I, m not sure on any of this, what I heard on the news was that RBS Has nothing at all to do with this deal, so if that's the case how can it just be to pay the debt off? surely Barcap will not allow this??(Ed not sure if this is correct but wouldn't that make all this again just paper talk) anyway if KH is bidding for the club, the proposal must be a viable option for Barcap including the RBS debt and not just to pay the debt off. Also some one mentioned before that the guy has links already with the Yanks if that's the case this is a non runner Premier league would surely not allow it as fit and proper, Just my thoughts. Norty, KH links are to the New York Yankees, not the Yankees known as H & G.(17)(7)

• Offer is 'one of several', claims chairman Martin Broughton

(Kenny Huang's bid for Liverpool is only one of "several" offers for the club, according to their chairman, Martin Broughton.

Huang has yet to enter formal due diligence, but talks are sufficiently advanced with other bidders for there to be the prospect of a takeover at Anfield before the closure of the transfer window on 31 August. That could have an effect on the future of the striker Fernando Torres, who returned to training at Melwood today.

"It still remains the objective to conclude a deal before the end of the transfer window, " Broughton told the Guardian tonight. "That remains the objective but there are no deadlines, and we will continue working to complete the process."

Broughton conceded that 31 August is "a very important date" for fans and some Liverpool players. Torres is highly coveted – both Manchester City and Chelsea are reportedly on alert – but such is the Spaniard's stature that his departure would affect the valuation of the club in one bidder's case, at least.

The apparent existence of multiple bidders means that the club's US co–owners, George Gillett and Tom Hicks, could end up making a significant profit from their controversial three–year tenure at Anfield. However, the pair will not have the final say in who may take over.

"There could be a possible realisation of an equity consideration, " Broughton said. "But both George Gillett and Tom Hicks remain on the board and they have given commitments that the board of Kop Holdings [Liverpool's UK parent] is the party that is responsible for the sale."

Gillett and Hicks are believed to have placed an US$800m (£504m) valuation on Liverpool, but sources close to the talks insist they will have to accept a much–reduced sum once any deal is concluded. With only a calendar month until the close of the transfer window, the completion of due diligence must come fast. Yet, as an indication of how far advanced talks are with the interested parties, no money has yet been transferred into an escrow account, which would be one of the final steps before a transaction can be finalised.

Huang, a China–born Wall Street financier, raised the prospect of a bid for Liverpool on behalf of a sovereign wealth fund belonging to what has been described only as a large country in east Asia.

There had been suggestions that Huang would seek to acquire the debt from Liverpool's principal lender, Royal Bank of Scotland, in an effort to gain financial control over the club. However, Broughton insisted that is not the case.

"Any bids that go straight to RBS – and there have been several – come to me and are directed to Barcap, " Broughton said. "RBS are not involved. The control remains with the board."

The part–nationalised RBS bank retains confidence that Broughton and Barcap – the investment–banking division of Barclays bank, retained to conduct takeover negotiations – will be able to conclude a deal before the next refinancing deadline, in October.

Whether that will be with Huang is another matter. However, it is known that he wishes to expedite discussions.

"He wants to get it done quickly so investment can come this summer, " a source close to his proposed bid claimed. "Liverpool need investment in the playing squad and infrastructure, and Huang wants to build the [new] stadium. The club has an outstanding reputation but does not have the infrastructure to keep with it and make it grow."

One thing is clear, however. Huang considers Torres's retention at Anfield to be central to the success of his investment in Liverpool. One member of his retinue said he views the Spaniard as a "talismanic" figure whose departure would alter his valuation of the club.

Torres has told friends he is committed to remaining a Liverpool player but reserves the right to quit if they are incapable of meeting his ambitions.(19)(11)

Chris Coleman to be offered a role at Ipswich after Gary Ablett was sadly diagnosed with a form of blood cancer.

Coleman will take up a coaching role with the option to leave for free should a club want him to be their manager. Because of this he will sign a 1–year rolling contract(13)(12)

I have just seen flamini at arsenals traning ground in st albans there has been talk of him y would he be there if he is not signing
_

maybe he plays for AC Milan and played yesterday and was just popping in, while he was in London, to see his mates. He is still very friendly with most of the team!

Personally i don't think he would displace any of our midfield apart from Denilson anyways!

After the Emirates Cup at the weekend, the weakspots have again just been shown. We need a strong, tall defender who can read the game..Subotic? Nordveit? Mertesaker?

..and a decent gamewinning goalkeeper in the mould of Seaman..Adler? Loris? Marchetti?

If we can keep our important players fit..we'll be there at the end!

Spurs to be overwhelmed by CL football and have a awful season. Back to mid table obscurity for the Yiddos!

To who ever said this.
"West Ham can't make a firm bid for Remy and the striker don't want a club in bad financial situation."

We made a bid which was acceptable then it was down to Remy and I think it was in pretty much every paper..

He didn't want to come because he wanted to play in the Champions League..not beacuse of our financial situation which for the record is bad (around £80million debt at the moment) but its now under control and its being paid off..slowly mind you ;)

He will not sign for either us or Stoke. He's staying put until a Champions League team come in for him, albeit this season or next.(6)(6)

My understanding is that the reasoning behind the chinese bid only to clear the debt from RBS is because the balance of the debt is against Kop holdings which is owned by H & G and they have personal guarantees attached.I believe they will be personally liable for the outstanding amount of monies not the club.. This offer will open the door to other offers. Fingers crossed we choose the right offer. Macca(18)(4)

To the bellend who wrote this:

All Liverpool fans who think Huang buying debt is manna from heaven, ponder over this.
First the 'debt' needs to be transferable without requiring any consent from the borrower (H&G) which is a decent likehood. Second, assuming Huang demands an immediate repayment of all outstanding loans, H&G neednt default. They will look around, find Mascherano, Torres and Gerrard as their three bankable assets (add Pacheco if you) and counter threaten Huang with the possible sales of its main stars to raise the funds to pay off the defaulting loans. The outstanding loan is paid (obviously the above 3 could raise £90m, instalments would be no more than £35m a year for a £237m 10 year debt, would be less if the tenure is longer). Effectively H&G buy atleast ~3 years time and Mr. Huang sends timely reminders to H&G for repayments for those ~3 years.

Not all that rosy eh !

Any reason why it hasn't already been done then ya blert?

Evening all (hope all's well SuperED)

I wanted to make something clear about the statement below from RBS "But an RBS spokesman told Reuters: "We are not in talks with any bidder about the sale of Liverpool football club."
This is a 100% factual statement. However this is not an argument against Huang's "bid" being successful. Huang's is negotiating to buy the DEBT not the club. His strategy (according to reports) is to then squeeze the Americans out. I personally believe this to be the cheapest way to (eventually) buy the club, but without doubt the messiest. The stand–off between the current owners and Huang could be damaging. As a result I sincerely doubt this is Huang's preferred option. This is more likely a way of pushing through his actual "bid" with Barcap (yes I'm assuming he's made a bid, l have no info like everone else!). The bid process with Barcap is, as we know, completely water tight through rigid NDAs, however the same may not be the case for the debt held by RBS. Great publicity and potentially fan pressure after hearing all this "spend spend spend" talk. Very clever if this is the case, but I like everyone is trying to make an educated guess. Thoughts anyone?

Max Gradel is set to join Malaga CF in the next few days, the main reason being and i quote his Grandma, '' Max is going to Spain for his love of football ''

Gradel is angry at missing Leeds United's first 4 games through suspension and voiced this in a recent interview with Ivorian TV, A Malaga CF scout saw this interview, watched some video's on youtube of the young winger and approached Leeds about him.

If Gradel moves to Malaga he will be able to play the first 4 games of the season.(8)(50)

Celtic will sign another c back. L back and Liam Lawrence on loan. That will be it. Talk of 8 or 9 players is fantasy.(19)(22)

RE: STV News at 6 has shown the media frenzy at Glasgow Airport gathering for the expected arrival to Glasgow Airport of Craig Bellamy!

– Mate I and I'm pretty sure hundreds of others watched the STV news at 6 and the above is a complete and utter lie. If you're going to make stuff up at least make it partly believable and do some research.

And, just for the record..Bellamy WILL NOT be joining Celtic, get that into your heads. McGeady is being pushed towards Spartak Moscow by the board even though he does not want to go there. With no Champions League money coming in, the books have to be balanced some way, just like your rivals across the city did with Cuellar two years ago. Deal with it.

Coventry City have made a bid for bristol city right back Christian Riberio he impressed AB when on loan at Colchester abd is said to be looking for first team football away from Bristol after the arrival of Nick Hunt will limit his oppoertunitys

To the above, Everton have been sniffing around Ribs for about a year now, he's injured again at the moment and has missed most , if not all of pre–season.
He will get his opportunities with us, he just needs to stay fit for long enough.
If he is to leave, it'll be for well over £1m.(4)(15)

LFC takeover – What great news for the club, I'd like to make a couple of points that seem to have been overlooked in the hysteria of today's announcement.
First off Huang is heading a consortium backed by a business partner from a far east Royal family.
second, Huang wants to own the club by this time next week.
Due to those factors, I can't see this deal taking too long. Huang has the money & if he has that kind of financial backing as well I'm sure they will get what they want.
Finally Huang knows that the Chinese market is massive in terms of commercial revenue, very smart move. (could this move have been in the pipeline when we had Carlsberg written in Chinese for the last home game of the season, testing the water maybe)!!(22)(18)

In response to:
"To the person who said that richie brodie dosnt want to leave york and that he loves the area and the club, that is total nonesense.."

I know he lives in Gateshead, still with his mother, after his dfather died when he was much younger. It is for this reason he will move no further than Yorkshire. He even decided Huddersfield was either too far away, or not the right choice, because their bid was accepted, and he had a medical there, but in the end, didn't go, and has signed another contract. However, my point is, Brodie likes playing for York, a club who have given him his chance in football, and for this reason, will not push for a transfer, or sit out until his contract runs out, unlike previous York players (Cresswell + Donaldson spring to mind.) I think he will leave, because he wants to move to a bigger club, but it will not be this summer. Maybe January, though I doubt it, more likely, he will go next summer.(5)(8)

What made u bring up sumit that's been explained more than a hundred of times neva mind the amount of times its on this site, that rangers r ok, not doing great bt they r safe. 'Stoke need to get real and stop posting what "Dave" is saying on their oatcake forum cos its all balls t and your possibly more deluded than us West Ham fans;).'

The Remy story was in the Guardian you utter tool. As regards to Cole– Stoke have a policy where they never discuss outgoing or incoming bids and yes they did bid for Cole. Unlike West Ham who prattle on about Beckham and Ronaldinho etc in the media

Remy has had talks with Stoke and let's see what happens eh?

Jermaine Pennant still a Stoke target(8)(13)

To the spurs poster at 5.41 earlier today, i posted on here about month ago that spurs were trying to get benzema in on loan. i don't know where that is now but obviously his problems with the underage prostitute may well effect any deal. i dnt know what your source is but it may be that it is benzema, he would be a great addition.(4)(20)

To the guy who pointed this out.
"To the idiot that said "Why would Tudgay sign for a championship club?? he is worried about losing his place in the turkish squad so don't think this would be a good move!" Well Tudgay is not Turkish. You are on about Tuncay who plays for Stoke."
I am that idiot! apologies, a city friend of mine did indeed tell me that they were after Tuncay, when I saw this I put 2 & 2 together and got 56!

But still think the robins fans are going nuts, have heard and read rumours of Owen, Heskey, Bellamy & Wellbeck! come on? come back to the real world!(2)(9)

Milner is set to leave villa after falling out with MON again. He will go to Man city for 25million cash, or a 20million plus onuha deal, by the weekend. Ireland is reluctant to join as he wants to fight for his place at city.

This money will be used to bring in Mcgeady from celtic for around 8million and maybe another centre mid. Maybe a bid for Keane also but this seems unlikley as Redknapp would refuse to do buisness unless ashley young was somehow involved and MON couldn't afford to let his best two players leave.

Ashley young will move infield to play just behind gabby in a 4–5–1 system, like he has been for most of pre season, with mcgeady playing out right.

Blackburn have bid 5 million for Yakubu. Everton are holding out for at least 7 million. They then plan to use this money to buy Robbie Keane. This will only aid Tottenhams bid for Bellamy. Intrestingly I have heard that "if" Milner moves to Man City, which is belived to involve Stephen Ireland, they will use what ever cash they recieve to bid for Darren Bent. I don't believe this but i do see the logic being that Villa need an out and out goal scorer to become the team they can be.

wtf are you on everton want at least 9MILLION POUND for Yakubu, west ham offered 7 and they want 9 stop making up rubbish(7)(16)

To the dimwit who said this

"real rumours include a move for Tudgay or Kitson and the possible loan of welbeck or Scotland. Van Aanolt will join on loan."

Why would Tudgay sign for a championship club?? he is worried about losing his place in the turkish squad so don't think this would be a good move!

Also whats the big deal about James?? he's a decent keeper granted but he's 40yrs old! always been a bit dodgy and is obviously winding down, you need more than a 40yr old keeper to get promoted to the prem!

Reality check needed I think

To Mr know it all who commented on the Kitson/ Tudgay post. Marcus Tudgay plays for Sheff Wed, think you are confusing him with Tuncay, , know what your talking about before you comment on other peoples posts..also James will be by far the best GK in the championship..good signing in my eyes!! To who ever said this:

Stoke are close to agreeing a deal with Loic Remy who is set to be the Potter's first 10 million pound player.

West Ham are encouraging Stoke to up their bid for Cole but it looks like they have moved on. Stoke had a 9 million bid rejected on Thursday and won't be increasing it.

Stoke haven't made a bid for Carlton Cole since last year when he rejected a move to you. (Good inside contact there, even Pulis has come out and said he hadn't bid for Cole)

Remy WONT sign for you, the only reason Remy wasn't too keen on West Ham was becuase his agent/club turned his head and wants to play for a Champions League team.

Stoke need to get real and stop posting what "Dave" is saying on their oatcake forum cos its all ballst and your possibly more deluded than us West Ham fans ;)

Possible signings for West Ham:

Tal Ben–Haim – Free,
Laurent Bonnart – Free,
Miralem Sulejmani – Loan with a view to a move,
Kevin Prince Boateng – Fee depends on the result of Pompys hearing at the high court tomorrow.(24)(35)

Everton player at Ricoh on Saturday

Coventry City are believed to have spoken to Everton's Victor Anichebe.

The Nigerian internatiional who has made 76 appearances for Everton scoring seven goals, was, it is understood, at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday for the game against West Brom as a guest of City Chairman Ray Ranson.

Anichebe, who was born in Lagos, can play as a centre forward or on the right side of midfield.

As other keen posters have already confirmed it is indeed true that Mesut Ozil will be signing for United this week. I believe Friday is the day but i cannot be 100% certain. Fee is around 13.5m plus quite a few addon fees dependent on his success.

I am also told Ozil won't be getting any crazy wages either. No direct figure.(30)(28)

NPRAK – although an Utd fan I beg to differ with a number of your views :

1. When was the last time Utd bid for an out n out established star : what about Berbatov or Rio or Benzema ?

2. As for Anan, a decent performance at the wc has "never" earned a player a spot in the roster unless it has been backed up by a concrete interest on SAF's part or a proven track record at club level : what about Karol Poborsky or Djemba Djemba ?

3. The only players that have actually caught his eyes n are realistic targets are Ozil, Jovetic, Defour n Ninis. My sources have confirmed that there "will be" one summer signing for sure : as I have previously stated on here numerous times, SAF is only interested in 3 players – one currently playing for an Italian club, the other two plying their trade in Spain. I agree with your statement that only one will be bought – but it won't be any of the above. Utd plan to sign Ozil on a free next year and will only move this summer if a fee of around £6–7m can be agreed.

Ed : thank you for a fantastic site. Have your sources heard any rumours about SAF's interest in the Italian/Spanish based players ?

Had a brief discussion this afternoon with a close friend of Aiden McGeady, he told me he does NOT want to go to Moscow. Infact he didn't even want to travel to talk to them. However, Peter Lawell is MAKING him go speak to them as it may generate interest from down south. (aidens preferred choice). Celtics financial situation is not as bright as some may be lead to believe and they NEED to sell Aiden (with no champions league money coming in). He also told me things could get messy if no bids from down south come in, As aiden will refuse to go to Moscow.(23)(18)

Hey all, I work for Leicester City Fc and have some quite good inside info.

An agreement has been made for Milan Mandaric to sell Leicester City to a Far East Consortium! The deal was agreed in the summer and that is why Nigel Pearson told to find another club as the new owners wanted Paulo Sousa as there manager. Milan has sold 49% of the club and will sell the other 51% at the end of this season on the hope of getting some of his investment back if Leicester were to be promoted.

The shirt sponser will be anounced by the end of this week! it is related to the new owners.

The buy out will be anounced before the 1st home game against Middlesborough as it should all be completed by then.

On the transfer front Leicester now have a fair bit of money to spend and will sign 4–6 players in the next 7–10 days some have already been agreed.

in..

Emile Heskey, Robert Koren (agreed), Liam Roseinor (agreed) Stephen Darby (loan agreed) and Adam Le Fondre.

out..

Dj Campbell to blackpool
Matt Oakley to Swindon (agreed)(24)(15)

I can guarantee there will be at LEAST one more signing. Dont believe what fergie tell's the press he is playing mind games and doesn't want chelsea and man city trying to hijack his potential targets.

United fans, fergie has said he will not be making any signings so stop making things up to pass your uneventful days. Deeney to Watford, Chopra to Leeds. Reports of an increased bid from Birmingham for N'Zogbia are unfortunately wide of the mark. I can see him going to juve. Any decent Birmingham City rumours?

Yeah well.. Villa want a goal scorer. Villa want players to sign. Villa want a manager that rotates players and is actually good in the transfer market. We all want things.. also as well as this united have not yet given up on balatellie, united have placed a bid of 22 milion for him, this is why he has not signed for cit, city have offered 25 million but balatellie wants to sign for united and inter want to take the highest price. this could mean that united have to push the price up to match city to make inter happy and accept the transfer
so there could be 2 big signings this summer if everything gos to plan.(24)(16)

I can now confirm that Mesut Ozil of Werder Bremen will be announced as a Man Utd player later this week. After Ozil claimed he would see out his contract at Werder Bremen it was assumed he would not move but Werder have decided they want to cash in on the player now rather than lose him on a free.

Unlike most things on here this IS A FACT.

So forgot Ozil joining Real Madrid or Arsenal. Also Man Utd won't be signing Kaka or anyone else worth 30+ million!(19)(21)

RBS deny any approach for Premier League club

Source insists on Huang's takeover interest

Liverpool's major creditor, Royal Bank of Scotland, on Monday denied they were in talks with a Chinese businessman over the sale of the Premier League club.

But a source close to Chinese businessman Kenny Huang told Reuters talks to buy Liverpool's 237 million pound ($374.7 million) debt with RBS were under way as a first step towards a purchase deal for the 18–times English champions.

British media have widely reported that Huang, a Guangdong–born U.S. citizen who already has interests in Chinese baseball and U.S. basketball, had approached the bank as part of a scheme to eventually acquire control of the club.

But an RBS spokesman told Reuters: "We are not in talks with any bidder about the sale of Liverpool football club."

Asked about the denial, the source insisted Huang wanted to buy the Anfield club, who were put up for sale by unpopular American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett in April.

Huang, chairman of the Hong Kong–based QSL Sports Group, has not commented on the deal but appointed a British media relations firm to represent his interest in the five–times European champions.

Liverpool's owners, who bought the club in February 2007 from former owner David Moores for 218.9 million pounds, instructed Barclays Capital to find a buyer in April and appointed British Airways chief Martin Broughton as chairman to oversee the sale.

Barclays Capital refused comment on Monday.

The American duo have faced intense criticism and hostility from Liverpool fans, with frequent demands for their removal, after loading the club with huge debts.

Huang issued a statement in March denying comments attributed to him in the British media about the future of then Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez but declining comment on his interest in purchasing the club.

He also owns a minority share in the U.S. basketball team Cleveland Cavaliers.

Media reports have linked Syrian businessman and former international footballer Yahya Kirdi with a deal for Liverpool, who suffered a dismal campaign last season, finishing in seventh place and missing out on a lucrative Champions League spot.

Been some serious door closing around white hart lane! apparently spurs are extremely close to capturing on loan a player real madrid bought last year, no name yet, but from those in the know its a massive name? also milan are seriously interested in swapping dos santos for huntelaar (loan?), the player spurs seem intent on splashing out on is suarez (sp) of ajax, spurs seem to want rid of keane and crouch to be able to employ a forward line up of defoe, suarez (sp), huntelaar and pavlyuchenko, the players that could be shipped out from midfield are o'hara, jenas & bentley, leaving a midfield of bale, modric, new signing, huddlestone, kranjcar, palacios, lennon & sandro.(8)(14)

due to the non sale of rangers the bank has now changed its terms and wants payment of debt now!! so if any reasonable bid comes in for davis rangers will accept it or any player including bougherra.

To all leeds fans

We're NOT going to be signing :
Jay simpson

Alan Smith ( wage bill far too high and why on earth would he go down a division we he had just earned promotion with his current club!

Simon Cox, Scored some important goals for west brom and helped them secure promotion, it will be his career goal to play in the premiership so why is he gonna throw that away and go back into thee championship!

lee miller– no link with leeds, nothing ever been said of him before today, leeds fans are just thinking of names to put down!

we've just beaten wolves 3–1 a premiership team, okay we need to stregethen in some areas but we're not going to be bringing in 3 new players by the weekend! 1 reason why that is, because we don't need too, we need another striker and maybe a loaned centre midfielder ( Sanchez Watt) but we don't need the players that have been mentioned on here for about 2 months now!

I am in India . A man Utd supporter. .

Golden ball winner diego forlan is in India for a promotional event.
He in an interview to budding football fans as a part of a visit to missionaries of charity expressed his dissatisfaction tat SAF never called him once he left united till date.
He s really disappointed about it. On being asked about a return to the premier league he answered–'' I am ok at Atletico madrid. However I would love to bring newer challenges in my peak years in football. I have been told about certain interests from the Premier league . Am really honoured to be i''wanted''. Besides it does not depend on me alone. The clubs are involved. . ''
He has also later been quoted saying about Fernando Torres and how his departure to Anfield brought him on to vicente Calderon. And that there is a special link between the two clubs.

With the likelihood of some takeover it very much looks like he s gettin back to PL. And many out here link him to liverpool. Seems this has some legs.
I wish Fergie had a place for him. Cos he s vastly improved and is an excellent partner to any world class striker. Rooney and him would thrive. .

I would just like to clarify the rumours that are flying around regarding the sale of Liverpool football club. Kenny Huang is not in talks with anybody directly involved with the club. He is ready to present an offer to buy the clubs debt directly from RBS. Everybody currently involved with the deal is under strict instructions not to talk to the press and have signed non disclosure orders. (I am in no way party to the inside information, however I do know a bit about how the deal would work). What this means though is that if his offer is accepted by RBS Hicks and Gillette are going to be very unhappy, so expect this to get dirty and expect other (phantom) offers for the club to be announced over the next few days as H&G do not want this deal to go through and will go down fighting. To summarise if the offer is accepted Huang will not own Liverpool Football club but he would have great influence over how the club was run. Then the fun would start, it would be nice to see someone do to H&G what they have been doing to the fans for the last few years.(17)(11)

MUFC latest:
Alright, 1st things 1st, all this talk about kaka n Anan is pure bs. When was the last time Utd bid for an out n out established star? N further can we afford to buy Kaka? As for Anan, a decent performance at the wc has "never" earned a player a spot in the roster unless it has been backed up by a concrete interest on SAF's part or a proven track record at club level. Anan has neither. The club policy has always been to rope in promising youngsters below 24 years of age (except in the case of certain defenders n GK) and then mould 'em into future stars. The only exception to these rules are stars whom SAF had shown active interest in in the past (like Owen n the legendary Cantona) and were availble at a DECENT PRICE. I doubt SAF will dishout 40–50mil on 1 star rather than sign 3 future stars for the same price. Leave all such buyings to City.
Secondly, if he shows an interest in a player, that doesn't actually mean that the player would join the club for sure.
And finally, all of us are talking abt how desperately we need an attacking midfielder. Don't u think SAF has a clue abt the same? C'mon guys, the veteran isn't regarded as one of the best ever managers for no reason. Have some faith n jst rest assured that if there are some areas that need fine tuning, he will do the needful no matter how bad the financial situation is. He has always done that.
The only players that have actually caught his eyes n are realistic targets (confirmed interest) are– Ozil, Jovetic, Defour n Ninis. 5 possible add ons to that list (not confirmed) are: Sanchez, Diego, Hazard, Pjanic n Lahm but all 5 of 'em are highly unlikely due to different reasons. The Goalkeepers' wishlist includes 5 names but as I said, its just a "wishlist", nothing concrete. Expect a move in January. And that's it. No Kaka, no Benzema, no Diarra. My sources have confirmed that there "will be" one summer signing for sure.

"02 Aug 2010 15:59:11
There has been some suggestion that the owners of Liverpool defaulted on their loan repayment. My understanding is that this is not correct. I know that RBS could take control of the sale process but as I understand matters they have not done so at this time.

It appears that Huang is looking to buy the debt from RBS. I could see that he could then call in the debt from the owners but I have yet to grasp how he could force them out quickly. It is alos not clear who the new owners would be if Huang were to be successful – he himself is effectively a facilitator.

I think this has a way to run yet.

Sharkey."

I been trying to post all morning that this is a bid for control not ownership of the club. Your right Sharkey Huang is trying to buy debt of the club which is why he is talking with RBS and not BarCap who are control of the Sale of the club.

If Huang does buy the debt then he will effectively have control and a serious amount of leverage to force H&G out given that the money owed to RBS would now be owed to the Huang Consortium. This is why the bid is apparently lower than the debt, because debt is always brought for less than what the actual debt is.

If or hopefully when they take ownership, the owners would be what ever this consortium goes by (eg Sunderland situ), unless Hueng is acting on behalf of an individual which I do not think is the case, at least that is not whats reported.

Comrades!

I have yet to confirm this 100% but it appears that this 'Chinese Bid' is almost certainly not one of the two that was tabled and is in fact a third 'rogue' bid.

Again I have yet to confirm this 100% but it seems that this 'Chinese Bid' is not to actually buy the club, merely to buy the debt to the banks and thus force the Americans out by then foreclosing and seizing the club.

From what I have been told, there is a bit of hesitancy going on as to whether this 'Chinese Bid' is actually acceptable on the grounds that it was not made before the deadline and neither is it to purchase the club, just it's debts.

Again club gossip also speculates that this is in fact a ploy to speed up the acceptance one of the two official bids that were made by the deadline.

It is extreml;y difficult (in fact impossible) to get a hard answer because the whole affair is sealed and tight.

It also puts Hodgson under incredible dilemmas – does he buy players now of lower calibre, or wait a week and see if the 'Chinese Bid' is accepted and shoot for the stars? And if he does wait, what happens if the bid falls flat on it's derriere.

Interesting week to ten days ahead !

Alan Smith is in serious negotiations with regards a return to Leeds. Bates has been a driving force behind this one for about 18 months as he beleives it will finally get him in the fans good books. A deal was agreed in principle with Newcastle last year before Leeds lost to Milwall in the playoffs, then earlier this summer another agreement was reached with Newcastle but Leeds could/would not meet his wage demands. However Smith has just been told that his chances this season with Newcastle could be seriously limited if Newcastle keep a full strength squad and so talks have re–opened with Leeds to see if they can meet halfway.

Source – My cousin works for the same firm as Smith's agent. My cousin also said that he doesn't think Leeds will budge from their earlier offer and so he deal may well not happen. My cousin has recently signed for scthorpe robert grant. he is friends with gerrard and his family as if you look it up he was arrested with him in the nightclub in southport. Gerrard has told him hes not going anywhere, torres is staying at the club for at least another year where if we achieve a champions league spot and can see the club moving forward will honour his contract before going to italy. mascherano is going to inter milan with the money being used for shaun wright philips or stephen ireland, but Gerrard thinks wright–phillips is on his way to villa. Obviously am a liverpool fan and have no reason to lie about that. all from the horses mouth. Also the chinese consortium bid will be successful and accepted before friday(7)(16)

Scottish press reporting that Glasgow Rangers are preparing a bid of 1.5 million pounds for Plymouth argyles Reda johnson. Reda Johnson is a very highly rated centre back, personally I think with his potential he could cost upwards of 3 million pounds. Johnson at 6 foot 2 inches can turn on a sixpence with the ball under close control, is super fast, and good in the air, his one downfall at 22 is his positional play and decision making, all of which Rangers know they can teach him.

Reda is 6ft 4 actually and has made mincemeat of every target man in the air he played against in the championship. I agree he's worth in excess of 1.5m
_

Other than Carroll who scored with a towering header and even donkey Best who could have had a couple.

Carroll didn't beat Reda Johnson in the air for his goal.

I remember seeing that game vividly with Toon fans next to me in the pub saying that they've never seen Carroll not dominate the CB's so I don't know what game you were watching. Yes Newcastle won the game but not through aerial dominance that's for sure. Johnson is talent, he just needs a little work with his positioning. and could be a bargain at 1.5 mill(11)(25)

Ryan Bertrand will not be joining forest. Well, he might, but not this window. I doubt he would join to sit on the bench behind shorey (who BD dropped some pretty blatant hints about last week).

In fact this rumour demonstrates where most people's rumours come from. It was based on a post in a certain nffc forum last week that was then picked up and mentioned offhand by a lazy journo in a local paper at the weekend. From there it has spread into forums again and become rumour–of–the–week.(11)(18)

Also, Adam Lallana won't join forest, he's been linked to premier league clubs and celtic so why'd he go there!?!? Also, he looks likely to stay at St. Mary's anyway.

Hi guys. Its great to see Jamo join Bristol City. I have always been an admirer of him. I also heard rumours about Heskey joining Jamo? Guys, Heskey cannot score in a brothel. So there is absolutely NO way that he is joining us. To my "fellow" City fan who said that Hartley will be staying at the GATE, mate where have you been all these months? Harts signed for Aberdeen last week after stating that he wants to be with his family. And Kitson will NOT be joining us for the same reason that i said about Heskey. Championship beware, Bristol City are on the up this season. Coppell is an excellent boss. Well Lansdown is also a excellent, well i say excellent, i mean a LEGEND chairman!! COME ON YOU SUPER REDS!! GLASGOW RANGERS
first of all reda johnson didn't not cut it at aberdeen when he was on trial, plymouth were just offerering him better money and if im being honest probably a better standard of football. there is every possility he could sign for rangers but i see it as pretty unlikely. davis will not leave for everton OR anyone else because he's worth more than the £5mil that's being talked about. if mcgeady is said to be worth £10mil then im pretty sure davis is worth a bit more than that. bougherra will also not leave unless astrnomical amounts are offered, ruling average teams like newcastle out of getting him.
ins:
nikica jelavic £2.5mil+add ons – rapid vienna
yohan benalouane £1.5mil – st etienne
christian pulhac £500,000 – dinamo bucharest
bongani khumalo £900,000 – supersport united
katlego mphela £1.1mil – mamelodi sundowns
georgie welcome £500,000 – motugua

most likely that only one of either welcome or mphela will join but there is the possibilty that both could sign as mphela can play just off the striker in an attacking midfield role. expect to see it all happen within the next couple of weeks. don't expect to see anyone else leave unless huge offers are tabled. in walter we have faith.

Chinese businessman Kenny Huang has pledged to invest heavily in Liverpool should his ownership bid succeed.

The head of Hong Kong–based investment company QSL Sports Ltd has been in talks with Royal Bank of Scotland for some time over buying out the Reds' £237million debt.

That would give him "a ridiculously large amount of leverage", a source told Press Association Sport, in order to be able to force out unpopular owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

But the spending would not stop there as Huang, whose interest is described as "remarkably serious", is keen to get a deal done in order to be able to furnish manager Roy Hodgson with money to spend in this month's transfer window.

In addition, he will also turn his attention to finally getting Liverpool's new 60,000–seater stadium built in Stanley Park after three years of inertia.

"He wants to get it done quickly so investment can come this summer, " said a source close to the bid. "Liverpool need investment in the playing squad and infrastructure and Huang wants to build the stadium. The club has an outstanding reputation but does not have the infrastructure to keep with it and make it grow."(9)(21)

In regards to the LFC takeover as far as I can make out Huang is not offering to buy the club but offering RBS to buy the debt of the club, build a new stadium ect.

This would put H&G in an almost unteniable postions and force them out without a penny. Though I do not believe H&G will end up out of pocker, unfortunately.

Ive got no sources just going on what Ive read.

A True Liverpool Fan

Huang is beng very clever with the buy out. Buys the debt off RBS, which gets RBS out of a hole (so they are thrilled and walk away with their money and a large potential bad debt provision added back into their figures). Huang then refuses to renegotiate the debt with the Yanks and demands payment of the due instalment. The Yanks cannot pay up so Huang "graciously" takes a portion of their equity in lieu of the instalment.

Thats when it gets interesting – the Yanks can either realise they are dealing with someone a lot more switched on than them and bail or they can persevere and when the loan falls due for payment, Huang declines to extend the facility and demands full repayment. The Yanks would have virtually zero chance to get finance elsewhere (since that is what started the problem in the first place) and would be forced to forgo further equity in lieu of repayment of the debt.

Huang then owns a majority of Kop Holdings and tells the Yanks to sod off, effectively meaning he has bought the club for the value of the debt (£263m I believe) plus whatever it costs to get the remaining minor interest off the Yanks. Result: the Yanks get nothing more than they paid for the club but without actually getting any money.

Obviously it is a lot more complicated than that but I reckon that is in essence his plan.

Huang LFC takeover has legs.

Just found out that Huang/Temasek raised a $700m bond approx. 3 weeks ago. Is it a coincidence – given that this amount has been quoted many times as the amount needed to clear LFC debts and build the new stadium ?

This is my take on what will happen with regards to Torres at LFC based upon contacts from Liverpool plus what i have read in the last few months. Torres will stay for a minimum of one year regardless of what happens behind the scenes. I was told ages ago that he had recently bought a 1 million pound house in Liverpool. If this is true, why would he buy a new house in the area if he had any doubts about his future. All this cack about him signing for Citeh & Chavski are bollocks. He said him self he would not play for any other ENGLISH team. If he goes anywhere it'll be to Italy. As for the takeover, i really wish it happens. Get those leaching yanks the F out. Man U fans need to do the same. Great site ed by the way. Its the man!.

Torres actually rebuilt the house in question – its at the top of our road! I agree 100% with you, if the Yanks leave I can see him seeing his career out at Anfield, the club, fans and the city mean that much to him.

Not sure in the Kenny Huang takeover is a deliberate leak that has happened to speed up a sale to another party..I posted before that 2 ex players had told me the serious offer was US based, .

To whoever said:
"02 Aug 2010 13:25:39
With regards to the proposed takeover of LFC by Kenny Huang. Don't believe the line that he's involved in talks with RBS because they have no say in the sale process. He is in fact talking to Barclays Capital, who are in overall charge of the sale. Apparently the deal on the table would mean that the crooks Hicks and Gillett would make no profit from the sale, which is just beautiful. If that happens I just might start believing their truly is a God."

Huang is in talks with the RBS to buy the debt of LFC, he is NOT bidding for the club, yet. Buying the debt will put H&G in an unteniable postion and give Huang serious leverage, which is why H&G will end of with no profit from this deal. Though Id say theyll be something in it for them.

West Ham are close to finalising a deal for Robinho on loan this season. The reason why this deal is going through is due to Santos deciding that they will be selling Neymar to Chelsea, who will also be loaned to West Ham. These moves have been kept hushed by G&S, which is why news on Loic Remy has been quiet for the last week. The Hammers owners are expecting to make the announcement by Friday, in time to make their debuts in Saturday's SBOBET Cup match against Deportivo La Coruna, with Robinho #10, Neymar #11.

With Liverpool's impending takeover by Chinese investors, a firm bid will be put in for Loic Remy who already has his heart set on a move there.(18)(26)

Liverpool FC are close to a takeover and it could happen within two to three days. Terms are being discussed about price etc and will be finalised ove rthe coming days.

Tottenham have made Peter Crouch available for a fee of £7million and it looks like West Ham may be interested in buying him as they have now cooled their interests in Remy and Neymar.

Chelsea will not be selling Ashley Cole.

Fulham are looking to put a bid of £6million for Robert Green. This will be turned down by the club as Green wants to stay at Upton park and Grant wants him to stay.

Mertesaker (spelling) is a target for Wenger and expect a bid of around £10million.

Milner may be leaving Villa for a fee of around £25million plus extras (I can also see a clause for Villa recieving money if he is sold within the next few years)

Heskey is rumoured to be joining Bristol City, following David James.

West Ham are looking to bring in another striker, but the main priority is a right–back and a central defender.

Joe Hart looks like he may be going back out on loan as he cannot see himself getting many starts with Manchester City. Expect a PL club to put a loan bid in.

Got some ideas about Man united rumours.

1. Tom Cleverly looks to complete a loan move to Newcastle. It is my opinion that they will use him as a way to get first option on Haris Vuckic (spelling) who we have enquired and tracked previously. (you know anything about this ed?)

2. Jovetic (or left wing spot), SAF is a big admirer of his, he tracked him before while he was at Partizan so if he continues to rise up through the footballing ranks, expect a bid from SAF. I don't think we will get him this year as he sees fiorentina going places, he recently said. Not to mention the ridiculous price being put on his head as with every other club's star players. Douglas Costa, we had a massive saga with him last summer as they didn't want to send him on trial. His form at Shaktar is picking up and hes doing really well so, we have info on him. This is another possibility. I feel more likely to be done in january though, because of how the Ukrainian league is scheduled.

3. Ozil. (more about the AMC slot but still) Ok, I would love to see him come as he can play out wide left as well as in the middle. But everyone is forgetting, we haven't actually played a friendly with Rooney, Vidic, Evra, Valenica, Park who will really make or break this signing. If Sir Alex sees something missing, he will try and fill he void. If not, I don't see a signing coming. BUT, in saying this, it looked as though we were going to get Ninis before that was all put on hold, for a reason I'm sure. Lest us not forget we are rumoured to have enquired abou t Paulo 'Ganso' Henrique. City have first option on Santos players until the Robinho loan runs out so don't expect anything before then. We are methodical and look at every name under the sun before buying, and now we have to be more prudent, its gonna be worse!

4. The CM role. Ok Defour, and Witsel have been watched for a while. Witsel was taken off the shortlist after that horror tackle got him a ban, but now hes back you never know. Defour, people are really playing on the fact that SAF sent him a letter. Well, yes. He did, that pays a complete insignificance to this transfer market as hes still not fully fit. He bought anderson just after breaking his leg and look how long its taken him to get to any kind of form. Even Hovland from Sogndal is some one we have tracked and they are topping their league atm. I would expect were more likely to sign a cm in that mould than a marquee signing.

In my opinion I really feel as though we need some solidarity in cm position but also some attacking flair from the cm and the left wing. Ozil would really be the ideal signing, but that would leave another signing. I have heard about annan, but don't rate him all that highly. He's like lassana diarra who I don't particularly have that much time for. Ed, can you shed some light onto any info on CM's for Man Utd?

Not a chance. Jo Hart has stated that he wants to be England No 1 and wants guaranteed first team football to help him achieve that. I am a Celtic supporter but let's be honest, your never going to be England's No 1 by playing in the SPL.(10)(28)

As i told you in the early hours of Saturday morning, the deal for Milner to Man City is set at £27 million. The issue was whether it was a straight cash or player / cash deal. I'm told that Ireland is part of the deal and would welcome a move to Villa, as MON generally plays the same players all season, the deal is set at £19 million cash + Ireland.
I also advised that McGeady is the number 1 target and this remains the same, as McGeady does not want to go to Moscow and will force the sale to Villa.
Another player I'm told is on the Villa radar is Kevin Doyle, however this is dependant on whether MON decides to revert to a 4–5–1 system which he has played this pre season, with the exception of the Benfica game where he went back to 4 4 2. Ed– can you confirm these?(21)(19)

Torres will leave Liverpool, it has been 3 weeks since the World Cup Final and he has still not commited himself to the club. It is bad times when you have to re–sign a player who was released last season, also Gerrard is not the player he once was, granted he was class but has last a yard of pace which was vital to his game. Liverpool this season will do well to finish in the top six, oh well more Europa football next season boys!

Gooner

Theres a reason why you're called the gooners, as you're an absolute goon! Typical rain on the potential parade message. Arsenal did pretty much the same with Sol so shhhh gimp. He's been using our facilities and Hodgson liked the look of him so he's been offered a new deal, he was released under Benitez. And I didn't realise mystic meg was a gunners fan the season hasn't even started yet let alone finished, and as for the Torres situation you know as much as the rest of us boy so keep it shut. p.s I also corrected your grammar for you as you seem to be incapable of proof reading before posting.(20)(23)

MELO
Makes complete sense as Arsenal need a further defensive midfield player, especially after watching the Emirates Cup, without Song Arsenal's defence looked extremely vulnerable late on, in both matches. With Juve not in great financial shape & with Melo not having had a succesful time in Turin nor at the World Cup Finals, it would be 'Wenger–like' timing to buy him now when everyone least expects it. He was definitely seen late last night in North London with his agent & Wenger. Schwarzer also sounds like a posibility again as the new manager has arrived at Fulham & a decision can be made. As Wenger has stated at least one, if not two centre backs will be purchased.(22)(26)

Rumours of further growing unrest at PNE are starting to circulate regarding Fergie and the new chairman Maurice Lindsay's faultering relationship and penny pinching by the club.

The deal for Darel Russell has fallen through because of Russells request for the same wage he was on at Norwich, which would now make him the highest paid player at PNE.

Lindsey had offered deals to Russell & Stoke misfit Carl Dickinson but at very reduced wages.

Stokes' Manager Tony Pulis had already told Fergie that he wants to sell Dickinson but PNE are only willing to offer a loan deal with Stoke picking up a percentage of the wage.

And with 5 transfer listed PNE players sitting on the sidelines waiting for buyers, Fergie has issued an ultimatum to the club chairman.

As an exiled Tricky in London I never get to hear any juicy gossip whatsoever or could could not claim to be ITK.

This morning, however, went over to Chelsea as they are a client of ours and got a few titbits (that are probably already known?).

Forest will sign Ryan Bertrand today or tomorrow, after having been knocked back for Van Aanholt, loan for now but I think if it suits all parties he could become permanent in the future. We also asked about Sturridge and got laughed at, but Forest have an interest in Matic (Serbian youngster I think), again on loan, should "they not sign their number one midfield target" – although they didn't know who this was they seemed to think we would get him!(37)(29)

Reda is 6ft 4 actually and has made mincemeat of every target man in the air he played against in the championship.. I agree he's worth in excess of 1.5m(37)(44)

To this dude: ARSENAL
To the moron who suggested Melo was seen at the Emirates Cup, it was in the evening by a very trustworthy friend of mine, in the North London area. Apparently, Wenger was present, as was Melo & his agent.
Mr. Wenger did initially think that he could do with another midfielder perhaps; most probably a slightly defensive minded one. Yet after the pre season performances of frimpong and young wilshire, he stated that he may have reconsidered. So even if you did see seria a's big foul machine, we very much doubt it's on the cards anymore.
One, maybe 2 more defenders.
The confirmed scouted centre backs are tasci, mertersacker, subotic and emir sphahic, along with a couple more most probably.
All seem decent enough and apart from the later are all relatively big name centre backs.:)(25)(24)

The rumours of a bid from Chinese business tycoon Kenny Huang are really taking off. Its now all over both BBC and Skysports websites. Reports are saying that he wants the deal to go through quickly so he can boost funds available for transfers before the transfer window closes on the 31st August. If this is the case, I don't know what you think ed, but I don't think that huge amounts off money will not be spent on individual 'superstars' but more on strengthening the squad. I'd hope to see a proven goal scorer come in though, I know you mentioned eariler ed that we have Pacheco, Dalle Valle, Kuyt, Nemeth, Eccleston, Amoo and Ngog, even Babel, but none even Kuyt are proven goalscorers in the way Liverpool need! Although I agree they all have promise. Therefore when I here rumours of Peter Crouch's return, I'd like to see him back! not sure how you feel about that ed, but he does score goals and adds another dimension (english too, which I like to see ! ) However with Purslow in Madrid recently and takeover possibly happening could it be that Sergio Aguero is actually on his way to Anfield dispite the unbelievablity of the original rumours??(33)(21)

I didn't realise that it was fans who bought and sold players. You total dick don't you think that if a manager or a chairman wanted to buy or sell someone they would just do it. When was the last time a manager gathered a fans get together to ask if its Ok if they bought/sold or swapped a player. I ain't agreeing or disagreeing that the Lallana for Tyson deal is fair but get real. What you as a fan wants has no bearing on what a manager or Chairman does and if he believes that swap deal is fair then you don't have say in it. Idiot! How many players have been sold against the fans wishes? It happens with every player. There is always somebody who doesn't want a player moved on so just accept that you don't run Soton, you just pay to watch them!!

Ed. do u remember Kenneth Hwang & his chinese consortium?? Sunday Times business article below. thanks Malmo08

Liverpool's ownership battle picked up pace yesterday when it emerged that a Chinese tycoon was in negotiation with Royal Bank of Scotland to take control of the club.

Kenny Huang, who is partnered by one of the biggest sovereign wealth funds in the Far East, is determined to wrest control from Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr before the transfer window closes. Last month, Huang made approaches to a number of key figures at Anfield to emphasise the seriousness of the bid in an attempt to forestall a summer exodus of players.

Fernando Torres, who reports back to training today, will be asked to delay any decision on his future until the outcome of the takeover bid is known.

Liverpool have been up for sale since April, when the American owners appointed Martin Broughton, the British Airways chairman, to oversee any deal. However, last week, no viable bidder had come forward and Broughton has not moved the process on.

Hicks and Gillett took over three years ago in a leveraged buyout and owe RBS about £237 million. Hicks has consistently quoted an asking price of £800 million club but business analysts consider this unrealistic, with £325 million a more reasonable figure.

The approach by Huang guarantees RBS the repayment of the vast majority of the loan because the bid guarantees to clear Liverpool's debt.

:To this guy please post much more often you were definitely the first to post about this chinese take over bid which now looks as though it could be completed in a matter of days. Thanks you very much (:(25)(11)

You must be well connected LOL. You seem to know more than anyone at LFC. You knew that Porto were only expecting 6.5m but Hodgson bid 8m. Walsall Rumours..

This morning Troy Deeney has handed in a transfer request to the Walsall board. Watford has a forth bid for £350,000 rejected last week. Walsall are holding out for £500,000.

Watford will put a fifth and final bid in for Deeney for £400,000 plus add ons for appearances, goals and a 20% sell on clause.

The money will be used to pay off some of Walsalls debt to owner Jeff Bonser. No one will be signed as Deeneys replacement. Instead Walsall will look towards Alex Nicholls and Northern Ireland u21's Will Grigg to score the goals this season.(20)(8)

Marco Engelhardt (Karlsruhe)
Charles N'Zogbia (Wigan)
Milan Jovanovic (already happened)
Joe Cole
Danny Wilson

Mate, your already missing out Jonjo Shelvey (already happened) and why not say Joe Cole and Danny Wilson (already happened) have you missed that ?
I think liverpool will sign either 1 of Steven Defour or Alex Witsel (both standard liege).
I don't think we need another left back untill maybe when the takeover is finally complete and we can bring in a world class left back.
Also think they should bid for shaun wright phillips if the takeover is not complete in time for them to make a bid for the likes of Aguero or Higuain, so joe cole will play off torres.
Torres and Gerrard to stay.
Great site Ed, keep up the good work,

Who the hell is adam Lallana anyway – neva heard of him but could understand why he would want the chance of playing in the Premiership within a year rather than languishing in the 3rd division.

Anyway onto proper football – forest to sign Ryan Bertrand from chelsea – they fed up of waiting for Nicky Shorey to make his mind up and can't take the risk of him not signing – so expect this one to happen probably on a season long loan due to the 25 player rule in the premiership.

Newcastle will sign:
– 2 players on loan, probably Cleverley, Wellbeck or similar
– 2 more transfers, one about 5 million, one cheap.

Alan Smith will not be leaving, he shall be the new vice captain, as Kevin Nolan takes the armband. A few reserves may go out on loan, as will Nile Ranger IF Chris Hughton decides that Xisco and/or Leon Best can manage in the Premier League. If the 5 million player is a forward player (e.g. Hatem Ben Arfa) then Ranger will go on loan, and one of Xisco or Best will probably be sold or loaned.

Of course, it is possible that the players we try to buy will be stopped by their clubs, but if Ben Arfa can agree personal terms, Marseille are willing to sell.

Ed, any more info?

To Mr Broughton et al, I think it's fair to assume that the "smokescreen" of the Chinese consortium is anything but given that the BBC are now reporting quotes from a source close to the deal reagrding their intent. I normally despise news outlets saying they "understand" or have an "unnamed source" etc but the Beeb are odd in that usually hold off writing such things until they have something tangible and let SSN and the tabloids aim for scoops with dubious credibility. The insider could still be bluffing to an extent, but it shows clear intent to push through a sale either way.

We've been here a few times before though, so i'm not getting my hopes up, but at least quotes from the Beeb can't be seen as a News International paper drumming up business or a phony website trying to snare anyone gullible enough.(18)(9)

Does anyone know who the wide man Simon Grayson has targeted to be coming in within the next few days due to Snoddys injury? Also he seems to be interested in a striker as on the leeds website he says there monitoring billys paynters fitness all the time and knows that becchio has been playing through the middle himself. Surely bates will invest sometime! Gradel and somma are already banned for four matches so who could the striker being targeted be? No bullsit either weve had every name under the sun linked.(10)(7)

 02 Aug 2010 11:40:34
So it's true then, despite the ed's doubts, Kenny Huang has made a formal offer to buy Liverpool Football Club. It is not just SSN reporting this but also the BBC, who I think we would all agree, are a slightly more reliable source of information.
The proposed sum on offer is said to be nowhere near the £600m – £800m valuation placed on the club by H & G, but instead is in the region of £350m, just enough to clear the debts associated with the club and it's holding company. Huang is said to want work to start on the new stadium as soon as possible (we've heard that before somewhere), and wants the deal to be done before the transfer window closes, so as to be able to invest in the squad.
I've done a little research into Huang, as I'm sure we all have, and he seems to be a serious business man with a good track record in sports investment, and doesn't appear to be in the buy 'em cheap and sell 'em high business mode of Hicks and Gillette.
I sincerely hope this bid is genuine, there has been no official confirmation, and that it does go through with some urgency. I'm not sure that H & G have any say in who buys the club and for what price the club is sold (as RBS are in effective the owners of the club at present), but I believe, according to British journalists anyway, that they can slow the deal down by introducing fake rival bids such as the one involving the ex syrian footballer who just happens to be a close friend of Gillette's son (and I thought he was the better of the two). I hope that isn't the case, the club HAS to be sold, £350m is a very fair price, the commercial opportunities that will open up to the club in the far east are mind boggling. The only down side that I can see is that the bid is backed by a Far Eastern government, which one would assume is China, whilst it leaves a sour taste in the mouth to be bankrolled by a Government with a very poor human rights record, at least it does ensure that Kenny Huang is good for the money.(27)(10)

Hi Ed according to the BBC we could be bought out in the next 2 days? By QSL Sports Ltd, just looked them up on the internet and their site is just terrible, not a good omen, became big in 2008 during the Olympics, also couldn't find Kenny Huang on wikipedia? maybe he's on there with his real name? All I have managed to find out is that he worked in the New York stock exchange.

Yeoo!! it's all over the internet and papers, especially in the far east, can't speak Cantonese my self but I can figure out Kenny Huang and Liverpool, looks like there is some weight to this..the best thing is Tom and Gerry are not happy as he only wants to pay off the debt leaving them with little or no profit, kinda like this guy already ;)(34)(11)

There is always somebody who doesn't want a player moved on so just accept that you don't run Soton, you just pay to watch them!!"

Well, maybe how I worded it was wrong but I never ment saints fans decide what will happen I'm saying there is no way they would swap him for Tyson, pardrew stated that no big names will be leaving saint marys and why would anyone want to trade lallana for Tyson if lallana left we would only sell for a huge amount of money.. This is because he's a fans favourite and a key parts of the squad who's worth far more then Tyson, so "dick head" take your head out your ass and stop trying to act like you have more brain cells then a retarded cabbage because you obviously don't

Thanks – neilr007 {editor's note – I am not hearing a lot to be honest, things aren't being done the Rafa way. Roy is making the decisions himself, he is not having endless discussions with the staff allowing time for news to slip out..}(33)(11)

Liverpool will bid for 4 more players before the close of the transfer window. Vincent Kompany has been told to look for a new club, and his versatility has given him the thumbs up from Hodgson. Roy will bid up to 9m for the Man City player. Steven Defour is also on the verge of signing for Liverpool. His agent is in advanced talks with Liverpool, after their 11m bid was excepted by Standard last night. The transfer should be completed by Friday and he will be presented to the media that evening. Maynor Figueroa is Roy's first choice target for the left back role, but his bid of 6m was rejecting, when Roberto Martinez kindly refused the offer, stating that he can afford to keep his star left back. This has caused headaches in the Anfield backroom, and this led to the re–signing of Fabio Aurelio. However a left back is still needed, and Jorge Fucile is the new head of the list, with Hodgson willing to bid 8m to secure his services. Porto(his club) were only expecting 6.5m, so they should accept the bid with open arms. Finally, Roy will bid 7m for Peter Crouch, to reunite him with his old club and to link up with Torres again. In the Benitez reign, there were glimpses of magic between the pair, so Hodgson wants to sign him. Also, he would help meet the criteria for English players in the Liverpool squad.(44)(38)

I believe that Man Utd need 2 quality midfield players ( only 1 if Hargreaves ever comes back ).
If the squad was not good enough to win the premiership last season then it needs a little tweeking for it to achieve success this coming season.
Like most Utd fans I would love to see Ozil at OT.
He has expressed interest in both Utd and Chelsea and if it ever gets to the bidding stage then you just know that Chelsea will add 5 million on to whatever Utd bid so he looks a Chelsea player at the moment.
We keep hearing about Defour but he is a long way from playing, so it seems to me that Utd will , once again, be looking at the Real Madrid outcasts again.

Ed, is this just another attempt to unsettle El Nino? Sprout {editor's note – it is just more paper talk to sell subscriptions to the Times website.}"

There is an interview published over the weekend in several outlets around Europe with David Villa where he appears to be 'agitating' the situation saying the only reason Torres is still at Liverpool is because Chelsea have either not bid for him or have not bid high enough and that Torres wants out as he wants to be in a team winning things (fair enough), but will only go if the fee for Liverpool is high enough (which shows he actually does have some honour).(27)(39)

Ed, What do you think of the rumour that Crouch could be coming back to LFC? IS it a non starter, or who would you like to see the club choose as another striker. The Remy rumour seems to be his agent pushing the move rather than the club chasing him {editor's note – they say never go back, but I think in this case it might be a good move, though I would prefer to see the kids get more games myself. The Crouch move is possible, Roy likes him a lot, but Spurs probably wouldn't want to sell him to Liverpool and even if they do he might not want to come back.}(29)(41)

Shiek Mohammed has completed dd.
By all accounts abu dhabi have just finished dd.

Joe Hart to Arsenal may be on the cards!

My first thoughts were NO CHANCE, however thinking about it Man city have two very good PL GK but both lack in Champ league experience! Joe to Arsenal would give him such experience and put him in the best position to be the No 1 at Man City at the start of 11/12 season.

This could be part of a deal for Richards or De Jong.

A good deal for City giving Joe what the team need and great for Arsenal as they can hold off bringing an older 1 or 2 season keeper for money they are not worth!

Heard forest may sign Adam lalana in a swap deal involving nathan Tyson

If your stupid enough to think Southampton would swap Adam lallana for Tyson I'm supprised you could turn on your computer, Adam lallana is Southampton fans 2nd best player he is loved probally as much as rickie lambert and no saints fan would swap him for Tyson.

Would never happen never ever ever

Saints are expecting at least 3 signings a winger, a central midfielder and a striker. This is to push are current wingers for there places and back up for rickie lambert and the box to box midfielder and depth we so lack in the middle which on a side note is why the Paul wotton rumours are absolute ste as he is are only current cm back up, and he's probally the poorest player in the side so I would love to see him move on and us sign two midfielders but it won't happen at least not this season next season I'd put money on him leaving along with Anthony pulis

Latest from Stoke

Completely dropped their interest in Bellamy as he was using both Stoke and Fulham as a bargaining tool. He will certainly go to Craven Cottage.

Jon Walters will join the Potters by the end of the week as a squad player.

A loan deal with Jo from Man City is on the cards but a lot depends on certain terms which haven't been ironed out.

Dave Kitson's demands are pricing him out of a move away from the Britannia.

Arsenal want Sorensen still as Man City won't loan them Joe Hart(26)(73)

To all the manure fans who keep posting that Steven Defour will only sign for man U because SAF wrote him some half–cocked "get well soon letter", c'mon. Do you honestly think he's gonna sit around and wait until SAF feels like making an offer (in what, maybe a year or two?), when he's got the chance to go play with Stevie Gerrard and Joe Cole immediately? Yeah, didn't so.

If LFC bid, Defour will go.(98)(86)

Hi ed great site, regarding the person who said they worked at the club shop who got the date wrong for Thursday 5th , I have noticed you can't book a stadium tour for that day , maybe I am reading too much into it , what do you think? Also I have no rumours living in the south west , just wish full thinking , and I wish we would hurry up and sign a decent strike partner for torres , I would like crouchie to return or go for hunterlaar, realistically who would you want to see at the pool? Cheers {editor's note – isn't there a match on? I may be wrong like, but I am fairly certain that there is a Europa League qualifier at Anfield on Thursday!}(30)(19)

Arsenal may make a shock move to take Joe Hart on loan from Manchester City. Wenger has identified Hart as a potential long term number one at Arsenal and the England keeper would be keen to leave the City of Manchester Stadium if it meant he was first choice.
Wenger knows Almunia is getting on and rates Hart a lot more than Fabianski.
Expect news of Arsenal's interest very soon.

A lot of people on here seem to think because Mesut Ozil has apparently said he is willing to see out the remaining year on his contract at Werder Bremen means he will not be moving??

errrr..wrong

At the end of the day he might not have a choice. It is essentially the clubs decision and do you honestly think Bremen are going to let him leave next year for FREE?

I don't think so some how.

These people that believe he won't leave are obviously Manchester United haters as they forget to mention the second part of the article where he says he would welcome a 'Dream move to England with either United or Chelsea'.

Expect a bid in the region of 15 million from United this week and i am 100% sure Werder Bremen will be willing to negotiate.(78)(37)

Manchester united will sign steven defour when he is fully fit.

it is the same problem that ruud van nistelrooy had bescause manchester united was going to sign van nistelrooy in 2000/2001 season but he had a knee injury so we signed him when he was fully fit the following season. so manchester united will sign steven defour when he is fully fit.

Ed. do u remember Kenneth Hwang & his chinese consortium??

Huang, who was first linked with a buyout at Liverpool two years ago, has an impressive track record as head of QSL Sports Limited, a Hong Kong–based investment company. He was instrumental in taking Yao Ming, the basketball superstar, to the Houston Rockets in the NBA.

Sources close to Huang said that he was eager to push the Liverpool deal through to make use of the transfer window. Roy Hodgson, the manager, would be given funds to add to a squad that dropped out of the top four and the Champions League places last season.

As well as generating revenue, Huang plans to build a new stadium as quickly as possible. The Americans made a similar promise in February 2007, pledging that ground would be broken on the Stanley Park site within 60 days, but work has still not started.(61)(50)

Neil Lennon will be making 4 new signings before the end of the window. He isn't to pleased with Charlie Mulgrew after a poor game against Braga and Arsenal. Aiden McGeady Might very well be staying at celtic after Lennon has promised him number 7. Paddy McCourt has been promised a start aganist Braga. Lennon is talking to a CB , LB , GK , CF.(62)(28)

Hi ed im a birmingham city fan and ive just heard fom somebody that the rumours going around st andrews are 1) blues very interested in keane from spurs bid to be submitted soon to rival aston villa
2) ryan babel / liverpool ready to accept new improved offer from us thus him bieng ommitted from pre season game in germany have you heard anything or heard of any pending moves of players to birmingham {editor's note – I haven't heard of any others, nor the Babel rumour. I was told he was left out because he wasn't fit yet.}

I believe the players from holland and spain are only due back this week in training so babel would never have been considered for the game today(27)(39)
