Ed can you please clear something up for me regarding the press conference up are lfc press conferences normally conducted at mellwood or at anfeild as I see people saying it means something big is going to be announced I personally think it is for our new signings to be unveiled to the media but would that not be easier to be conducted at mellwood where they will be training just a thought as I keep hearing this one is being held at anfeild {editor's note – normal press conferences are held at Melwood, or at least they were, no one knows if that is going to be changed by Roy. It looks to be simply a matter of a final press conference before the Europa League game and to introduce the new players that we already know about.}(3)(0)

Hey ed any info on if super ally's twitter is real or fake. personally i think its fake but he is saying obertan will be allowed to move to rangers on loan though obertan is in the states. cheers benny bear {editor's note – it is fake, there are hundreds of fake twitter accounts claiming to be famous people. There used to be one claiming to be Lucas which was the funniest one I have ever seen. It used to have him fighting with Kuyt for Rafa's attention and some of the stuff it said had me laughing so hard my ribs hurt.}(1)(0)

KELVIN WILSON – Nottingham Forest

Kelvin Wilson is on the verge of moving away from the City Ground. My source at the City Ground works day to day with the players and tells me he doesn't get on with Billy Davies and is looking for a way out.

As contract talks stall, 3 Championship clubs have made firm offers. Sheff Utd, Leicester and Hull which are all currently being seriously considered.(3)(2)

With Purslow in Spain and the Van Der Vaart comments yesterday could Purslow be tying this deal up or am i putting 2+2 and getting 5 ?
Ed any news? {editor's note – I think it is just wishful thinking mate, after all VDV would want a similar role to Joe Cole.}

"I'm determined to stay at Real Madrid, " Van der Vaart told De Telegraaf . "I want to stay here and succeed at Real. It's a shame that the English press has misquoted me. They've written things that are simply not true"

Just to put that to bed.Check ESPN if you want a sourse.(4)(2)

Torres will stay if liverpool can deliver 2 more top class signings, so far they have only made 1 in joe cole, wilson is good but not world class, and if Jovanovic had not been free, how many liverpool fans would have wanted the club to buy him? realistically we need a really good lb, Bridge has been mentioned but city might be difficult to do business with, Figueroa is decent and not too old at 27, but he would not be an improvement. We also need a credible partner up front for Torres if he is to stay. Stevie G dropping back once Masch leaves. The problem liverpool have is that they cannot make the world class signings on the current budget (the sale of masch would help), and need the club to be taken over asap, but will Torres hold out that long?

i would love to see Sergio Agüero sign, and Riise to make a return at lb butchances are pretty slim on both

Does anyone have any decent news on ins at liverpool?(3)(3)

 26 Jul 2010 20:20:47
Liverpool will most probably do at least 4 more signings. 2 left backs to come in (hopefully). Figueroa and Drenthe looking the most likely currently. Other possibilities are Salcido, Taiwo, Bridge, Jensen and Fucile. Banega looks the most likely to replace Mascherano. A striker to be bought. I think it will be someone who hasn't been linked with us much. Scharner may also be signed to increase squad strength as he will be available on free. And Turan coming in is still a possibility.
Also, I wanted to ask someone from ed. Why is it that Insua is still mentioned as a Liverpool player everywhere? even in the official site, his name is still there in first team whereas Riera's name has been removed his transfer took place after Insua's.(3)(2)

 26 Jul 2010 20:24:23
"Well Macheda is going nowhere his agent and fergie have already stated he is staying this year and may be loaned next year.

Wellbeck– He and Cleverly are the 2 names mentioned by fergie on the tour as likely to be farmed out on loan and if they do it will only be to prem teams. Your right with Newcastle and blackpool interested in Danny but also Fulham and Birmingham. No idea who is interested in Cleverly but I think he would fit in well at Wolves or West Ham.

Carrick– can't see Utd selling anyone already in the first team picture especially in CM with questions over Hargo and Ando's long term fitness.

Dzeko– don't think utd have ever been interested in him. More legs in the Balotelli link i think but with the obvious need for midfielders that will be priority. + altho i don't want to say it berba has been playing well in the tour games with another goal tonight so doubt a ST will be on cards.

Just my opinion"

Hi, i'm the original poster to which you repied.

– i know what has been said about Macheda not going out on loan but IF Hernandez proves to be a goal machine Macheda will go out on loan.

– i've been told that Cleverly will most likely sign for either West Brom, Everton, Bolton or Blackburn with West Brom being the most likely.

– as i said this is Carrick's season to prove himself, he will only go if someone such as Modric or a player of his calibre gets signed which is unlikely so he will most likely stay.

– Dzeko wasn't in the press much because he stated he wished to move to the italian league, so any leads of Dzeko were dismissed by the media, United did make an approach but the approach was towards the back end of the season, its pretty much 99.99% a no deal, but never say never in football.

one last piece of information i have been informed on is that if Kuszczak does not live upto Expectations then one of two players MAY be signed (its out of two players at this moment in time), the two players i've been informed about are Smithies of Huddersfield – any signing of him will be purely for the future. the second Keeper mentioned is Doni of Roma, although the fee being quoted is £14 Million.

"I'm determined to stay at Real Madrid, " Van der Vaart told De Telegraaf.

"I want to stay here and succeed at Real. It's a shame that the English press has misquoted me. They've written things that are simply not true.

These are quote's taking from SkySports so hopefully it puts to bed all the rumours about VDV.

QPR have reignited there interest in Darren Ambrose, who is on the verge of handing in a transfer request.

After having a tearful training ground bust–up with his close friend, reserve keeper Lewis Price, Ambrose feels he must leave the club in order to wipe the slate clean, and move on with his life.

well you'll be unhappy to here Ambrose has signed a new 3 year old deal. EEEEEEEAAAAAAGGGGGGLLLLLEEEESSSSSS(1)(0)

The Main shareholder of Hennes & Mauritz Stefan Persson is the new owner of Liverpool football club press conference tomorrow to reveal details of sale, I got this info from a friend who works for H&M

For starters H&M are not on the stock market so don't have any shareholders. Also the CEO of H&M is called Karl Jan Peirsson not what you said and the company would never buy a football club.
I've worked at H&M's UK head office for 5 years so I know this.
Just another typical Liverpool fan living in the clouds. Your mate who works there is properbly an Everton fan having you on mate!(1)(2)

ED THIS IS AN ACADEMY GAME UP DATE– to MURPHY
about that u18 game when the unknown arab lad played, i owe murphy a partial apology, the two arab lads were alone at the hotel i got that wrong, and he phoned his dad to organise a better hotel, the hilton,
they were at the game 1 played 1 watched the lad was not good enough, a bit overwieght, his mate was fat,
everyone was told not to ask questions just get on with it, he himself said his dad was buying the club, he is a prince, BUT there is over 4000 yep thousand in the middle east, i am not claiming anything here make your own mind up on it but if you are from liverpool you will soon know about it, this won't stay quiet long its too weird, but true(2)(3)

"Editor, Can you clarify the situation on MUFC?
Got a text from a Middlesborough player telling me that his agent believes Ozil is on his way and that Balotelli ( excuse spelling) has the choice between United and city with United matching the Transfer Fee? Also that he agreed person terms with MUFC?!?! {editor's note – Ozil looks likely, as United put the brakes on a move for Ninis at the same time as Ozil was put up for grabs. As for Balotelli, I know Fergie wants him, but does he have the money at his disposal for both?}"

The alleged agreed terms with Utd by Balotelli was reported in an Italian paper over a week ago. Since then his agent has said they are negotiating only with City. Don't think Utd can afford him for the reported 29m fee. I would cream myself if Utd ended up signing both Balotelli and Ozil(1)(2)

Latest news regarding Rangers f.c:
Rapid vienna have claimed Rangers made a bid for their forward Nikica jelavic.
Jelavic ( croatian) is in the last year of his contract, so shouldn't cost the earth.
This guy scores for fun as celtic found out in europe."

Wish this move would happen, but I can't see it. Another that we tried for but couldnt get, and will be the story of our summer. Celtic were after him in Jan, n Blackburn are interested too, which at the time was said his contract ran til 2012. At least 3m considering he's banging the goals in, and is an internationalist.

We need to look for players we can afford, price tag n wages, not track out of reach players to get rejected time and time again. I think if we got beattie he'd score goals for fun up here, if he can avoid injuries.

TO THE ANTI RANGERS CREW..
About Steven Davis..

"I enjoyed playing in the middle, " he said after Sunday's 2–1 friendly win over Blackburn in Australia.

"I've spoken a lot since I came to the club about how I'd like to be there and, hopefully, I'll get my chance there this year.

Stevie is going nowhere this summer , rangers don't need to sell anymore, All the players that left were either out of contract or 6months/1year left on their contract, which rangers couldnt afford to take them on , rangers will save around 107k per week without the 6 that have left..

So it looks as though Raul is Anfield bound then. Bearing in mind the circumstancial evidence, it looks the safest 2+2=4 bet I've seen today.

HOWEVER: I can't believe those people who are saying this should keep Torres happy! If we had signed Raul 6 years ago sure, but did anyone see him play against LFC 18 months ago? He looked lame to say the least.

He would be a signing to serve a similar purpose to Beckham going for England at the World Cup (fit or not). Not much to offer on the pitch apart from cameo roles, but great for spirit in the camp.

Torres wants to see the likes or Aguero, Tevez or even Xabi Alonso re–join the club. Not Wayne Bridge, Paul Scharner and Raul!

They will now set there sights on brett pittman from bournemouth if ray trew is willing to release the funds. CELTIC NEWS

Expect alot of movement in and out of Celtic Park towards the end of the transfer window, Lennon still has money to spend and players to off load.

Hinkel, Samaras, McGeady, Crosas and Hutchison have all been told they can leave for the right price. Caddis, Ferry, Connroy and McGowan may go out on loan.

Lennon is looking to add a 'keeper, a center half and a striker. Possibilities for GK include David James and Julian Speroni. In terms of center half; William Gallas and Sol Campbell have made contact with Celtic. The club have also had a £1m offer for Kevin Wilson of Nott Forrest rejected. Big money will go on filling the striking void, no rumours circling as yet. Bellamy?(4)(5)

Bear in mind Skybet have a history of being wrong just to get attention in a crowded market. The more cynically minded would argue that it's just a way for SSN to report that a player is "odds on" to join a team. They were the only bookies that had Ribery looking like a cert to join Liverpool last year.(3)(7)

"very recent liverpool under 18 match two arab strangers turned up, my source was told to ask no questions, mad but true, and 1 played the other watched he was fat, the player was not up to standard to say the very least, the squad arrived at the hotel and the young arab looking lad anounced he wasnt staying in here it was horrible, he was informed it was booked for the squad and that was that, he said im phoning my dad, he did and well he was driven with his fatter pal to the hilton liverpool, (i didn't know we had one) when the club driver (steve) arrived he said weres your bags lads? the thinner lad held his keys up and said the room number, for the driver to get the baggage, apparently he is a fckin prince he told a player his dad is buying the club, this is total truth i swear, if you know any one at the accademy at all the will tell you the same storey, it seems like a fairy tale but we all know its a matter of time before it all busts out, very long term liverpool fan"

So you are saying the new owner have a son ~ 18 yrs old and will be forcing the club to play his son because he is a rich stupid arrogant arab .

I have heard from a very good source that Roy 'The Hero' Hodgson is looking to sell Babel, Degen, Plessis, Itandje and El Zhar and is hoping the quartet will raise around £12m.Albert Riera completed his £4.5million move to Olympiakos on Friday while Emiliano Insua is expected to complete a £5million switch to Fiorentina by Wednesday.Liverpool have already sold Mikel San Jose for £2.7million and Yossi Benayoun for £5.5million.Liverpool are locked in talks to try and persuade Fernando Torres and Javier Mascherano to stay and if they do stay then Hodgson will look to bring in just two more players for the new season and believe it or not he is not looking at any strikers, Hodgson is looking to bring in Maynor Figueroa for around £5–7m and Ashley Young for around £18–21m.Liverpool have already signed two free agents in Milan Jovanovic and Joe Cole while they have also secured two highly rated youngsters in Jonjo Shelvey for £1.7m and Danny Wilson for £2m.(4)(6)

Just some thoughts on Dutch players to the EPM:
VdV is putting up smokescreens to the press that noone should believe; he wants regular first team football and hasn't much of a chance at that in Madrid; He'll agree to LFC if they'll have him (for the right price, of course); He's a good player, although I'm not sure if he's what LFC need right now.
Can't see the Drenthe move, but stranger things have happened; he's a big talent and going to LFC with its shortage at LB would be a good carreer move for him; He'll upset a guy like Bridge in a heartbeat. Madrid has been pulling his tail for two years, but Mourinho will probably let him go as he wants more experience, even in the backup role.
Now, everyone at Arsenal is talking about Schwarzer and Frey, but AW would be a real blockhead if he didn't go after Stekelenburg (which apparently he isn't ruling out); he's an option for long term and is good value for money if he can be bought for around 6–7 mln; 9 mln would be excessive, but Ajax will probably accept a bit less than that, as they are looking to reinforce their team.
Do not count out a Man Utd move for Schneyder in the winter transfer window or next season; SAF wants him as the long term replacement for Scholes, and even though Schneyder's missus will not be pleased to leave Milan, money and potential long term CL football, could swing him; That, and the fact that Inter is a lot more strapped cash–wise, than some assume, Balotelli move or not.
All is quiet, after the weekend, on the KJ Huntelaar front; which tells me (and a lot of other people) that a deal is in the making; Less likely to be LFC as it stands now, but Spurs in the mix. ED: Could the Hammers have a chance at signing him? Wouldn't surprise me, now that Remy appears to be a hot air balloon that won't land anywhere.
Next player out of the Ajax camp to land in the EPL: Siem de Jong; very strong player, should be scooped up by the bigs soon.

Not going to happen – Matt Phillips will sign for Watford next monday when he returns / unless England lose on wednesday when he will sign friday and be available for the Charlton game– 3 reasons – the relationship between the clubs forged over the Mike Williamson saga, the fact that there is signed agreement giving Watford first dibs on their talent and most importantly he is settled in the area – lived in Bucks all his life and Preston is a dump somewhere a gazillion miles from anywhere(1)(4)

Comrades!

Although a Liverpool fan I have been following he circus involving City, Villa and Celtic for over a month (as many of you my glorious followers, will know). It is a strange stance that Villa have taken with Milner. He wants to go but they won't release him unless he officially asks (as opposed to 'suggests') to go which means they won't get a big fee from City because if he stays he will steadily lose value (as well as motivation). If Milner doesn't go then McGeady won't be arriving. If Mcgeady doesn't arrive not only does it mean he fired–off his agent for no reason but it also means in all probability that Keane won't arrive with the Villains either. Which means Celtic will have neither space nor money for Bellamy.

All that needs answering is who would City have binned to make room for Milner because whoever it was is going nowhere now.

Transfer markets eh? Just goes to prove that until they have actually signed the contract no transfer exists.

Fascinating

This may be shocking, but Liverpool have sold Insua to Fiorentina and look set to ask for Adem Llajic in return. The reason why Insua is taking long to move to Tuscany is coz Llajic work permit is being sorted out.

I have also heard from a friend of mine who lives near the training camp of Fiorentina that Fiorentina are happy to sell Stevan Jovetic to Liverpool in a player + cash exchange for Degen + Ngog and 12m.. Furthermore Jovetic is an admirer of the club and especially Fernando Torres who he hopes to emulate, so the deal is very close to being done..

Ed – Do you have any news on Forest?? There seems to be a lot of misleading stories at the minute, some talk about a bit of a rebellion developing between the board and the coaching staff, while others say that the board are working long hours to try and get the right people in.

There are also a lot of rumours going around about certain players at the City Ground, as a football fan could you give us your personal view on what you think of the likelihood of the rumour happening, to name a few –

Peter Whittingham
Darren Pratley
James Beattie
Patrick Van Aanholt
Nicky Shorey
Charlie Austin??

You seem to be in the know slightly with Forest, as I can remember you stating previously that you knew the board were making offers and none of them were for Free Agents.

I think I can speak on behalf of most Forest fans by saying that things are a bit nervy this side of Nottingham, having seen 2 of our squad players go and nothing come in the other way, I think we could all do with a bit of reassurance.

I appreciate Forest isn't your supporting team, but any info would be appreciated. Thanks mate {editor's note – the only one I would be prepared to stick my neck out on is Charlie Austin. I can't say he is definitely signing but that is the player I have been told is the first choice and main priority.}(10)(14)

very recent liverpool under 18 match two arab strangers turned up, my source was told to ask no questions, mad but true, and 1 played the other watched he was fat, the player was not up to standard to say the very least, the squad arrived at the hotel and the young arab looking lad anounced he wasnt staying in here it was horrible, he was informed it was booked for the squad and that was that, he said im phoning my dad, he did and well he was driven with his fatter pal to the hilton liverpool, (i didn't know we had one) when the club driver (steve) arrived he said weres your bags lads? the thinner lad held his keys up and said the room number, for the driver to get the baggage, apparently he is a fckin prince he told a player his dad is buying the club, this is total truth i swear, if you know any one at the accademy at all the will tell you the same storey, it seems like a fairy tale but we all know its a matter of time before it all busts out, very long term liverpool fan

Why the hell would the Liverpool u18 team be staying in a hotel as a squad in LIVERPOOL. Thats where the players all live. How stupid is this. And believe me is an arab prince was coming over do you not think that they would have arranged their own accomodation prior to arrival in Liverpool. Come on m8 use your head and stop posting crap and making genuine Liverpool supporters to look like idiots

if you are a scouser and you go the game you should know someone at the club if you do, ask about it, its the truth, the person telling me was in bulk laughing about it, as for looking like an idiot you will feel the idiot when it all comes out the city isn't that big were this can be kept quiet for long it sounds like a kids tale im aware of that, but do some research before slagging people off lad(11)(25)

Regarding Bougie and Davis leaving rangers I severely doubt it will be a last day thing, rangers need atleast 3 players and to sell both or just one of these guys would be outrageous since we wouldn't be able to spend the money and be down a player or two. Plus Davis seems determined to help boyhood heroes and nail down a central airfield role and after bougies taste of the world cup he seems determined to try again at the next biggest stage. They may leave of when we don't get past Xmas in Europe go, but deadline day is the least likely.

News just in.

Ivan Gazidis is in germany and then Holland to tie up deals for both Stekenlenburg and Mertersecker. Stekenlenburg will arrive for £9million and not £4million!! And Mertersecker will arrive for £12million.Gazidis will also use this opportunity to talk about Ozil joining us in January. A £15million bid will be enough to lure Ozil who is only on £25k a week.

A unknown Senegelease will be drafted in to cover Song…A tough hard tackler is all I know of him–£3million

Even though AW has about £41million to spend he will only spend £25million on the remaining 2–3 players. The remaining £16million wil be used for either Ozil or Hazard for January.

You heard it here 1st.

My source is none other then Ray Parlour (family friend) who still has very close connections at arsenal

Do you not think that Ozil just might end up at Bayern Munich. Why? Well they're German, which helps, they rarely let young German talent slip through their fingers, they have the money and, with all due respect, they are a much bigger club in European terms than Arsenal(22)(19)

Indeed there will be a press conference on tuesday at 2pm. Time alloocated will be 30mins.

Agenda:
1. Pre match press conference ahead of the Europa Cup match on thursday. Present will be Roy Hodgson, Joe Cole and Milan Jovanovic.

2. Short discussion to ease the rumours regarding the takeover bid. Announcement will be made regarding the "perfect" offer on the table. Believe it or not, the offer is from Temasek Holdings of Singapore.

3. Confirmation on Torres commitment to the club after talks with Christian Purslow.

4. Confirmation of LFC's tracking of a leftback and a Striker both from the Premier league instead of abroad. No names will be mentioned tomorrow but i would like to reveal that it is Figueroa and Crouch.

I think i will get all Believable votes only for my post. I'm 110% confident that i'm the only reliable source here.(21)(21)

Walsall News.

Troy Deeney will be sold this week. Walsall have rejected 3 offers from Watford. The first was £150,000, second £300,000 and the third £400,000. Walsall are holding out for £500,000 which is what they value Deeney at.

They except Watford to come back with a bigger offer. But a number of other clubs are monitoring the situation. Birmingham City are interested along with Swindon and Reading.

Walsall will sign Adebayo Akinfenwa as Deeneys replacement.

Liverpool looking in to the possibility of signing Raul on a 2 yr deal. Purslow had talks with him over the weekend regarding his availability to move to liverpool. Slightly doubt he would move to the EPL because of the challange this would be on an old player. after all Morientes was a flop and the EPL has made a few la liga vets look like there not even fit enough for the bench. With his lack of pace if Liverpool were to sign him i could see this being a Morientes situation all over again. I believe Raul would take the less demanding challenge of the bundesliga. More accurate option Shalke. I also believe Hunterlar will sign by the end of the week along with Drenthe. Liverpool will do better this season with such less expectation on them.

Who ever is suggesting Jagielka is signing for Arsenal then wise up. Jagielka is the talisman of Evertons defence, he will stick by Everton as he loves the club, he is not interested in more money or a bigger club. If he wasn't injured last season then he would have gone to the world cup and shown them pish defenders Carragher/Upson and Terry how its done. He can see the progress at Everton and wants to stick by the club for supporting him in his recovery from injury. And we have all seen that moving for money doesn't always work out, just look at lescot. Man City didn't even buy the best defender at Everton!! COYB(24)(25)

Just a quick and random question editor..Have you caught wind of any transfers lately that you think will take people by surprise? Obviously not the people in the know, but us normal people who mainly go on rumour and paper reports.? {editor's note – to be honest there are so many rumours flying round that the papers are pretty much covering every possible eventuality now. So it is difficult for any move to be a surprise. Though I was told that Spurs are confident of pulling off a big shock transfer, someone no one would expect. I originally thought it would be Huntelaar, but I am beginning to wonder if it is someone like Ronaldinho.}(7)(15)

Just heard on very good authority that LFC will unveil 3 players tomorrow. All the players are free transfers with Raul & Scharner been two.
Conor Wickham of Ipswich is another target, RH has decided to spend the vast bulk of his transfer kitty of young hot prospects and bulk up the side with free transfers. That said one or two top players are also been spoken too at the moment. Expect to see a move for VDV & Drenthe(16)(23)

Doncaster targets. In reply to the chap asking about Donny targets Keogh etc, I have contacts at the club and the financial position is that the Beattie transfer was funded outwith the 1.5 million given to SOD . He still has his kitty intact. An improved offer for Keogh is expected or a last minute loan deal if no other club comes in before the deadline. Ryan has already agreed with SOD what he can and cannot do – expect a couple more small signings and one bigger ie Keogh YorkieLad

Also that he agreed person terms with MUFC?!?! {editor's note – Ozil looks likely, as United put the brakes on a move for Ninis at the same time as Ozil was put up for grabs. FOR THE ATTENTION OF EDITOR
very recent liverpool under 18 match two arab strangers turned up, my source was told to ask no questions, mad but true, and 1 played the other watched he was fat, the player was not up to standard to say the very least, the squad arrived at the hotel and the young arab looking lad anounced he wasnt staying in here it was horrible, he was informed it was booked for the squad and that was that, he said im phoning my dad, he did and well he was driven with his fatter pal to the hilton liverpool, (i didn't know we had one) when the club driver (steve) arrived he said weres your bags lads? the thinner lad held his keys up and said the room number, for the driver to get the baggage, apparently he is a fckin prince he told a player his dad is buying the club, this is total truth i swear, if you know any one at the accademy at all the will tell you the same storey, it seems like a fairy tale but we all know its a matter of time before it all busts out, very long term liverpool fan

I don't know if there's any truth in it but a lot of the takeover rumours recently have come from the academy(21)(44)

First of all I would like to state that I am a massive Liverpool fan, but this news is regarding Everton I'm old school mates with Alan Stubbs and John Doolan who are both coaches at Everton. After bumping into the both of them a week ago Alan was giving off about Liverpool and we were having a bit of banter anyway just to cut a long story short he told me the only high profile player that would be leaving Everton would be steven piennar. Also I would like to clarify the story that lfc has been bought this is untrue but a deal is close not iminent but close.(15)(33)

Not too sure if it's been posted in the past but just heard Torres was always asking if a box became vacant in the ground and when one did become available he bought it.make of it what you want but personally I think he's making all the signs of stayin at anfield.

I clearly remember a certain Thierry Henry buy a box at the emirates stadium and also brought an apartment at the old Highbury stadium and left that season.

I am not saying that torres will leave this season but this will not be a reason for him to stay.

I hope Arsenal sign Akinfeev or Stekelenburg and Mertesacker!

My source is none other then Ray Parlour (family friend) who still has very close connections at arsenal(43)(45)

 26 Jul 2010 15:38:33
"The most probable players to end up at old trafford will be defour, ninis. defour injury worries are proving to be a stumbling block in the negotiations. ED it was clear that united badly needed a goalscoring midfielder then why hasnt fergie signed one? defour is a playmaker and ninis a winger {editor's note – the only reason I can see is money, the transfer budget must be too tight.}"

There is very strong interest in them, both those players being valued at around 10–15m. Mesut Ozil valued at 15m also. So far Utd have spent 17m with 12m coming in from Tosic and Foster. So there couldn't possibly be a problem with finances with regards to going after Ozil.

Ed, the odds of Ozil joining have been slashed to evens. Is there something going on behind the scenes? {editor's note – I don't know to be perfectly honest. My hunch is there is something going on, but I have no concrete source for that.}(24)(30)

 26 Jul 2010 15:38:45
ED (or anyone else with real sources?), any chance of some clarity on a couple of LFC matters? I'm actually a Newcastle fan, but football matters have been dull and depressing in the north east so I've turned attention to elsewhere.

Regarding Aguero, has there been any confirmed sources AT ALL regarding this player? Clearly Liverpool don't have the kind of money, assumeably around £30, required for him at the moment, but I read a while back that Dalglish was an admirer. So in the event of a takeover, would he be a possible marquee signing? I understand he's incredibly loyal to Athletico after they spent 23m euro's on him when he was so young, and if Torres stays he'd surely operate in the same role as Cole..

The second is, whatever happened to all the Arda Turan rumours? Turkish newspapers reported lately Gala would release him for as little as £10m due to the need for transfer funds for the coming season – Rafa was very interested a while back, and Arda has never hidden that it's his dream to play for Liverpool. I do worry Spurs or Arsenal will snap him up otherwise, as he's a player with that "little bit of magic" that Harry was talking about his squad needing..

Finally with regards to the conference, I'm fairly sure it's a lot of hype about nothing. I would think that they just have a lot of updates for the press, what with Jovanovic, Cole, Wilson, a European fixture on Thursday, and the ongoing attempt to sell..

Plumeri as reported in the press recently has tried to involve his baseball impresario friend Larry Lucchino in Argyle. That seems to have died a death though since argyles relegation. Plumeri is funding a lavish thanksgiving dinner in the mayflower stand, for anyone at all, with the emphasis on americans in plymouth, the club think it could be a unique way to gain the yanks support if it hit the internet big time, you know the type town crier etc, etc, anything that sells to overweight over the top americans basically.

TO THE PERSON WHO WROTE THIS !!!!

very recent liverpool under 18 match two arab strangers turned up, my source was told to ask no questions, mad but true, and 1 played the other watched he was fat, the player was not up to standard to say the very least, the squad arrived at the hotel and the young arab looking lad anounced he wasnt staying in here it was horrible, he was informed it was booked for the squad and that was that, he said im phoning my dad, he did and well he was driven with his fatter pal to the hilton liverpool, (i didn't know we had one) when the club driver (steve) arrived he said weres your bags lads? the thinner lad held his keys up and said the room number, for the driver to get the baggage, apparently he is a fckin prince he told a player his dad is buying the club, this is total truth i swear, if you know any one at the accademy at all the will tell you the same storey, it seems like a fairy tale but we all know its a matter of time before it all busts out, very long term liverpool fan

Why the hell would the Liverpool u18 team be staying in a hotel as a squad in LIVERPOOL. Thats where the players all live. How stupid is this. And believe me is an arab prince was coming over do you not think that they would have arranged their own accomodation prior to arrival in Liverpool. Come on m8 use your head and stop posting crap and making genuine Liverpool supporters to look like idiots !

My friend works for lfc.tv.

takeover not imminent and nothing likely to be concluded until after the transfer window at the earliest.

capdevilla wanted but considered pricey in comparison to the meagre budget available – figueroa preferred as a cheaper option with premiership experience.. a shame as capedevilla is class.

aguero an impossibility due to massive transfer fee which would be involved (30 million minimum).

wright–phillips is wanted. ashley young would cost too much (and isn't really worth 20 mil), city may be reluctant to sell to a high profile rival but given premiership squad rules may be left with no choice – squad of 25 maximum, m.city currently have 36 squad players.

i have no idea what striker liverpool will sign. apparently put off by nice's 12 million cash up front demands for remy so looking elsewhere, any ideas anyone (don't say aguero please)?(27)(25)

Not much of a rumour but a thought Manchester City are offloading many players in the next three weeks due to the high amount of players that they already posess. One of these players is believed to be Micah Richards. I think that if Arsenal fail with their bid to secure Phil Jagielka's services next year then Micah Richards could be a high possibility. I still believe that Wenger will take Mark Schwarzer to Arsenal if the price is right so he can spend 2 or 3 years at the club. By that time Sczeny and Mannone will have had quite a lot of experience and would fit in to the line up perfectally.

Thats all I got. ;)(21)(16)

 26 Jul 2010 15:03:00
Fernando Torres' 'beef' with the club is said to be something related to contractual issues and not how much Liverpool will be spending on player purchases this summer.

Rumours on Merseyside suggest that the Spanish hitman's agent has raised an issue with the club relating to payments associated to his client's image rights.

Managing Director Christian Purslow has been locked in talks with the Torres camp over the last few days and as yet there's still no official word about the player's intentions although sources at Melwood have updated our members about the current vibe amongst the management team.

We must point out today's claims are 'rumours' and that we're obviously unable to confirm if what's claimed is true. However we wanted to put it out there for you to digest and consider.

Chelsea and Manchester City are trying to recruit the player although we remain hopeful that he will still stay at the club.(22)(14)

 26 Jul 2010 15:04:13
Tottenham and Liverpool are interested in Real Madrid legend Raul with Roy Hodgson hoping the acquistion of the striker on a free transfer will persuade Torres to stay. Raul's potential arrival at Anfield would see David Ngog be sold to West Brom for £5 million.
German side Schalke are keen on Raul whilst ambitious Newcastle have made contact with the player.

Once Jonathan Woodgate has recovered from his latest injury setback, He will come on loan to Leeds to help get match Fitness, Expect loan to be no longer than 3 months.

John McClelland of Leeds Utd (Does Tours of the stadium) says there is a rumour going round the club that we have shown intrest in kieran Dyer but cannot afford his wages. He also says that Arsenal may be interested in Niall McGinn of Celtic with the possibility of Armand Traore going in the opposite direction but only on loan

one of my work colleague says arsenal to sign nathaniel clyne from Crystal Palace but loan him back for the remainder of the season (doubtful)(16)(26)

Leeds will be signing a striker this week, YEP headline is "grayson close to a striker swoop" don't expect any money to be spent at the very maximum leeds will buy leroy Lita for about £500,000.
This deal seems to be pretty likely because middelsborough have spent alot of money this transfer and would be looking to make some money back on players that are cover and there are a few betting sites saying lita to leeds, ED, do know anything on this rumour? and leeds may sign jay demerit however he is linked with every club right now, and maybe simpson or watt on loan, and howson has become the new cdm so we won't be signing one maybe only as cover no big signing. {editor's note – I don't know anything on this one, but it does seem likely as Lita has been touted around for sale.}(11)(22)

Troy Deeney will be sold this week. Walsall have rejected 3 offers from Watford. The first was £150,000, second £300,000 and the third £400,000. Walsall are holding out for £500,000 which is what they value Deeney at.

ED, just looking your thoughts.Purslow was in Madrid recently, discussing a transfer. Joe Cole everyone thought was going to be given the no.7 shirt when he was signed but instead got the no.10 shirt. Manchester City will have to offload around 12 players before the transfer window closes at the end of next month – otherwise they will be left with players they are unable to play.

Players such as:
Roque Santa Cruz, (7mil)
Craig Bellamy, (4mil)
Wayne Bridge(7mil)
Micah Richards, (6mil)
Shaun Wright–Phillips, (9mil)
Stephen Ireland, (12mil)
Nigel De Jong, (11mil)
Pablo Zabaleta (5mil)
could find themselves out in the cold if they are still at Eastlands when the transfer window closes. Robinho is also officially still a City player.
And City could be forced to accept reduced fees for these players as rival clubs look to take advantage of their situation.(25)(15)

Just heard arteta has rejected a 75k a week deal to stay at everton, dont no if u can believe it cuz i don't think everton will offer any player that wage?? any thoughts on this ed {editor's note – the problem with reported wage figures are that papers will often guess or include bonuses etc. So there is no way of being sure about how much the offer was. Personally I think clubs should be forced to be transparent, all their payments should be available for all to see. Signing on fees, transfer fees, wages etc, it makes it more difficult for them to slip through backhanders if everything is accountable.}(8)(24)

Ed, I see a lot people going on about Man Utd are signing Ninis but I do not know where the story has come from. As far as I know, this story was only reported in an Italian paper because Roma were apparently interested and were told he would be joining Utd. Do you have any concrete info from credible sources? {editor's note – concrete sources told me about an enquiry and negotiations, but I don't know anything about a price being agreed.}

I don't have any hard sources but if i may take an educated stab to answer your question, i would imagine that SAF is waiting on the outcome of any potential Ozil transfer. If he can pull that off for a reasonable price then the ninis deal will more than likely go on hold. However if Ozil goes elsewhere then i would expect ninis to arrive at OT.(19)(9)

Editor whats latest news on Arsenal, Is Wenger still interested in Hazard who i believe will be on par with Ronaldo in coming years. What the latest on defensive reinforcements?
I've a feeling 1 Marquee signing is on the cards hope i'ts Hazard,
Personal opinion is Mertesacker, Melo and Hazard would propel us to becoming champions.Give Wojiech Szczesny a chance and keep faith with the young lad. {editor's note – Wenger has had Hazard watched for a long time now, I am wondering if he has decided against signing him. He did the same thing with Babel, and it must be said he was right now to buy him! I haven't seen a lot of Hazard, but what I did see was not impressive at all, I am not sure what all the hype is about to be honest. Wenger is looking for an experienced goalie and defender, I don't believe him to be considering anyone else.}(13)(24)

 26 Jul 2010 13:26:10
Ed, are there any news on arsenal cause people post rubbish and do u think stekernburg will be a good signing?? And isn't Wenger looking for a gk and 1 centre back including Campbell or just Campbell?? Cheers

Is Arsene we trust {editor's note – Stekelenburg looks a good keeper to me, certainly a huge step up from Almunia. My understanding is it is one goalkeeper and one defender, Campbell would be an extra on top of those two if he returns.}(22)(11)

Editor, theres two Brazilian trialists left at Leeds, both 16, ones called Gabriel Maia, the other is Valdomiro Cantu Rodrigues. Its on the official site. {editor's note – when I looked the Brazilians to be trialled weren't named. AZ Alkmaar striker Moussa Dembele remains a target for Birmingham City.

The News of the World says AZ want £5m for the Belgian international Dembele.

Birmingham will have to beat off competition from Olympiakos and Fiorentina to sign 23–year–old Dembele who has less than 12 months left on his contract at AZ.

Dembele, who has scored five goals in 28 appearances for Belgium, can also play on the wing which is another position that Birmingham's manager Alex McLeish wants to fill.

Birmingham City are making a new offer for Crystal Palace fullback Nathaniel Clyne.

The Mirror says Brum are preparing an improved bid of £2.5m for Clyne.

Birmingham have had three offers for the England youth international turned down this summer.

But they are refusing to take 'no' for an answer in their pursuit of the teenage defender.

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has targeted the 19–year–old to be the long–term successor to skipper Stephen Carr.

Absolutely true, Royston Drenthe (real Madrid) to Liverpool, He has posted on his facebook that he is about to become a Liverpool player and hopes the season ahead is a good one! Any new man utd rumours??(38)(35)

 26 Jul 2010 13:20:50
The most probable players to end up at old trafford will be defour, ninis. defour injury worries are proving to be a stumbling block in the negotiations. ED it was clear that united badly needed a goalscoring midfielder then why hasnt fergie signed one? defour is a playmaker and ninis a winger {editor's note – the only reason I can see is money, the transfer budget must be too tight.}(16)(16)

 26 Jul 2010 13:20:55
Editor, do you know anything of this speculation regarding Royston Drenthe to Liverpool?

He would seem a strong candidate to take the left midfield role vacated by Riera. Not to play at left back as there is someone else lined up for that position and it is not Drenthe's most effective role!

He is close friencds with Babel and i believe that he would have been in the Dutch squad had his progress not been hampered at Real Madrid. It is the case that a lot of madrid youth do not get the opportunity to play and progress with the board/managment preferring to acquire talent.

There is no doubt Drenthe has the potential – quick, direct, unbelievable skill, a fierce shot and a great cross! If he gets the playing time, i believe he will realise his potential and be a standout winger in the EPL!

King Roy we trust! {editor's note – I think the rumours are just a case of someone adding 2+2 and getting 79. Purslow being in Spain, someone changing one facebook page, him being a friend of Babel, plays on the left etc etc. It all makes him sound like the perfect fit. But I can't fully dismiss them as all I know for sure is that there have been talks with a Madrid–based side over the transfer of a player.}(25)(15)

It looks like the left side of the liverpool team is pretty much finalised:

cole and jovanovic are already in

maynor figueroa is undergoing a medical – source from some dodgy google translation of a honduras news site, it said "tests" which i assumed meant a medical. anyway his signing is close

royston drenthe is also close to signing on loan – source his facebook page "I will soon be joining Liverpool. I hope I will have a good season."

I'm getting a little concerned about torres, i had hoped he would follow gerrard and commit but its taking a bit too long. i still fully expect him to stay though.

Ryan has already agreed with SOD what he can and cannot do – expect a couple more small signings and one bigger ie Keogh YorkieLad(7)(19)

Newcastle news

jlloyd samuel
ben arfa
Yohan Benalouane Jlloyd Samuel is set to sign for Newcastle as soon as Bolton have wrapped up the signature of Marcos Alonso.

Samuel is reported to have already sorted a deal worth in the region of £30,000 a week after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee and the move will be rubber–stamped as soon as Bolton land Alonso.

Newcastle United are hoping they can sign Marseille's Hatem Ben Arfa on loan. The Magpies were originally keen to sign the French winger permanently but are now seeking a loan deal.

St Etienne defender Yohan Benalouane is in talks with a Premiership club.

Benalouane has been linked with Newcastle United.

"Why would Utd sign either of them? Ninis is a winger, has always played out wide. Utd have 5 wingers on their books. I don't believe the Ninis agreed fee story for a second.

Defour is a deep–lying playmaker ala Alonso. Utd have similar players in Carrick and Scholes. I know SAF is a massive Defour fan but just don't see it happening.

Utd will look to sign a proper CAM to play in the hole behind Rooney. If Sneijder cannot be tempted and Ozil is snapped up by another club, there will be no signings at all. Utd will make an effort to sign Benzema depending on the sex scandal and Jose's role for him this year. SAF is really obsessed with his qualities as shown by continuously talking about missing out on him well into last season"

If SAF is not going to buy a winger because we have 5 or a deep–lying playmaker as we have two WHY would he buy a striker when we have 7 and actually only played one up front for much of last season?

I agree that I think we need a CAM more than anything else and would love Ozil as lets face it we missed our chance and should have got Schneider in the Ronaldo deal but I would not be surprised if Ninis or Defour sign. Ninis is capable of playing as a CAM! Scholes is getting old and Carrick is crap.(16)(8)

NUFC Rumours:

Hatem Ben Arfa to Newcastle, sounds ridiculous, but news article dated today for possible loan deal on the Daily Telegraph website (not the usual drivell!). This, in theory could mean a move for Jonas, or could just mean we are bulking up the squad, hopefully the latter.

Striker in, I don't think we can afford Robbie Keane, so unless Jonas goe's, expect either a Manu reserve/young player or a cheeky bid for Eduardo/loan for Vela.

Sol Campbell looks likely to sign due to injury problems, his home is not far from Newcastle (although this move was played down by Hughton, needs must, we need a defender centre).

Possible outs, Jonas as explained. Leon Best, possible buy–back clause, Ryan Taylor/Alan Smith for 3/4 million fee.

Italian giants Juventus are have made an offer to Liverpool for Daniel Agger and are looking to use Christian Poulsen as bait in their attempt to lure Agger away from Anfield.

Javier Mascherano arrived back for pre–season training this morning accompanied by non other than his agent. Make of this what you will, but surely normal practice would be for a player to return purely to train and work, and not, as it seems, put pressure on Hodgson regarding a transfer away from the club.

Egyptian heavyweight Mido is on the verge of joining Dutch powerhouse Ajax on a free transfer.

Mesut Oezil is in advanced talks with Barcelona. It is believed Barcelona have given up in their attempts

Im Sick of seeing Aidan McGeady to Villa in the newspapers. He his way to over rated and lets face it hardly set the SPL alight. Over the weekend Villa have been linked with a host of different players some believeable some just our right ridiculous.

Ins

Robbie Keane – Spurs – £10,000,000 (Can see happening but you've gotta think after his pre–season thoughts about him might be going around Harry's head)
Mathieu Flamini – AC Milan – £7,000,000 (Cant see it happening personally as MON tends to stick with home grown players also Liverpool and Everton showing interest)
Stephen Ireland – Man City – P/E or £8,000,000 (Likely to happen as Man City have signed a host of Midfielders and are likely to sign Milner also)
Scott Parker – West Ham – £10,000,000 ( Starting to look unlikey after the owners are pushing there luck with the asking price of £20,000,000 is only likely to turn MON away)(31)(38)

Yeah ive heard a lot of the same about this press conference at anfield. The tours at anfield have been put on hold between the hours of 10.30 and 4pm (just checked the liverpool.fctv site) however i do have some news on sales. David ngog's agent has been told to find the player a new club for a fee of around 2 million. The only thing stalling a deal would would be his wage demands!! around 40k a week. This might be an insight into the future of Torres Would hodgson let him go if we were going to loose him? plus why hasnt he already left??? I suspect big news in the next few days!!(42)(35)

ED – Any leeds rumours recently ? {editor's note – not recently, Bates wanted to wait until the Brazilians had finished their trials before looking to move for other players. Apparently their wages are cheap, very cheap! But Grayson is still chasing a striker, I would expect the club to start making firm bids this week.}

there is a report in the YEP today's that reads
'Grayson close to a striker swoop'
the unnamed player is expect to join before the week is out

Leroy Lita is the name going around message boards

also there are only 2 Brazilians left (Gabriel Maia and Valdomiro), they're both 16, so don't see them making a impact on the first team just yet

expect Steven Caulker to sign when he returns from France and maybe Jan Gunnar Solli if he impresses for SK Brann on Wednesday(29)(28)

Ed, I see a lot people going on about Man Utd are signing Ninis but I do not know where the story has come from. As far as I know, this story was only reported in an Italian paper because Roma were apparently interested and were told he would be joining Utd. Do you have any concrete info from credible sources? {editor's note – concrete sources told me about an enquiry and negotiations, but I don't know anything about a price being agreed.}(20)(24)

 26 Jul 2010 09:57:08
No–one has thought about if this press conference could be bad news? Maybe to announce Torres doesn't want to stay? I think its unlikely but just don't get to excited about all this. Unless you have any proof this is going to be a good press conference. Don't get your hopes up.(38)(34)

Hello im a first time poster but long time viewer. I have good news for Liverpool fans. The takeover is imminent. the meeting last week in London did happen and the reason Both the americas and there Entourage turned up for a "overview meeting" was because it was a lot more than that. I can't confirm who the bidder is as quite simply i am not high up enough within my job to know this sort of info.
all i can say is that this deal is going to be completed before the transfer deadline. What we have been told is that the official bid that is being taken more serious won't have the money of Man city. they will have enough for long term plans i.e the stadium the debt and to build a team up over time. I work for a company dealing with part of the details which have to be officially completed. So we are getting updates regulary with what is happening. Im a villa fan so don't think im a deluded red.(33)(35)

 26 Jul 2010 10:07:31
Transfer rumours in the next 2 weeks.

Torres to jump ship Chelski, City or back to Spain. Looks like the his boyhood club looked better on the history channell.

City will buy every thing that moves. No need for a scouting network just bid on anyone that everyone else is looking at.(31)(41)

Ed anything happening at leicester ? {editor's note – Pearson has sat down and talked with a few players about next season now. He is expecting to offload DJ Campbell and a couple of other players, this money is to be used on a striker and a midfielder. I don't know who he is looking at to fill those slots though.}

I work with a former lfc players son, the only news coming out the boot room at the moment is that liverpool are trying to sign jansen the german left back or figueroa on the cheap, also a quality striker to partner (possible replace Nando) been rumours for months about take overs, nothing concrete yet!(88)(71)

 26 Jul 2010 09:42:34
So ED, seems Ireland wants to fight at City (probably for the wages and his home club), is there any chance at all he could join Villa if we sell Milner? Seems like O'Neill wants him gone. Also, seems Redknapp wants to keep Keane, does he still look likely to come? Only rumour I keep hearing is McGeady if Milner leaves, but that's it. Anything else you got? {editor's note – there is a chance to get Ireland, Mancini is to choose his squad of 25 soon, if Ireland isn't named in it then he will have to move on. He can't fight for a place if he can't get a game no matter what he does. Redknapp only wants to keep Keane if he can't get a replacement, but he will talk him up in the hope of getting more money.}(10)(10)

 26 Jul 2010 09:43:13
I have been doing my summer intern at Liverpool F.C. The rumour around Melwood on the return of the squad is that Christian Purslow has pulled a real coup off on his 'vacation'. This is yet to be confirmed, however I have been told to return on my day in tomorrow in formal dress due to a visit? Make of it what you may, however I have it on a good notion that a takeover is imminent and transfers have already been agreed in relation to this. Big week for Liverpool fans.

Karl.(49)(81)

In reply to this:
"ust to put all the Manchester United rumours to an end.Inside info at OT says that United will only sign one more player, either Sotoris Ninis or Stephen Defour.there will be no major outs, apart from a couple loans.Depending on United's assessment on Defours knee injury, Ninis looks the most likely.no take–over this summer either, hopefully that puts an end to all the United rumours."

Why would Utd sign either of them?

SAF is really obsessed with his qualities as shown by continuously talking about missing out on him well into last season(37)(11)

I've got some news about a press conference to take place at Anfield.

The conference will be at the ground either tomorrow or on Tuesday morning – can't confirm at this point, but it WILL happen, I'll let you know by 11PM (UK time) exactly when it will take place.

I can confirm the conference is to announce that a player has signed. The player in question is Maynor Figueroa – the Wigan Athletic left–back.

He has agreed personal terms with Liverpool today, in fact just a couple of hours back, £40,000/a week, three–year deal. Liverpool and Wigan have agreed a fee in the region of £4–6million, can't confirm at this point.

The only reason the press conference is being held is due to the fact that we have made some progress on the ownership front too.

We have received two formal bids, they are on the table, no doubt about that. One is absolutely perfect.

KRAPTALK is a con!

A week before we signed Joe Cole, Kraptalk put a post up saying he'd rejected us, when he signed he removed it! Please don't subscribe to this thief! He just makes it all up. All summer he has been saying that Gerrard will leave and Torres will stay – and now it looks the opposite will happen!

Torres to end speculation next week when he returns to training .purslow has convinced him liverpool are moving forward and promised to build squad around him. torres has been a liverpool supporter all his life and liverpool is still a massive club so why would he walk ?? purslow also slapped 70 mill price tag on him with no part exchange option to keep clubs away. van der vart, arbeloa, lopez, forlan and raul's representaties have all been spoken to mainly to test the water, although ive heard nothing concrete on ageuro!! purslow to return to speak to masch with roy and tie up left back deal in next few days. pretty sure its figuroa now, tho hodgson hoping to get bridge at knock down price. (3.5 max) expect a cheeky bid for ireland too as he appears to have played his last game for city. all heard from inside LFC(42)(17)

 26 Jul 2010 09:22:49
I need to comment on all of the takeover rumours, not just Liverpool, that state that there will be an acquisition by some Middle Eastern investment authority/royalty/businessman.

The (British) woman who brokered the Man City deal has gone on record to say that there will be no more Arab takeovers of British clubs in the foreseeable future. Basically, none of them represent a very good investment at the moment.

There may well be a takeover of Liverpool in the offing and I'm sure BarCap are working their socks off to try to get a chunky share of commission, but please stop just assuming that Middle Eastern money is going to be flying into the Premiership any time soon. It's not happening.(11)(33)

Trouble at Pride Park!

Clough wants to make 1 more permenant signing but the club has refused to back him with cash, instead telling him to carry on with loan signings.
Understandably Clough is not happy and is seriuosly considering issuing an ultimatum. He knows the situation at the club (lack of funds) but isn't asking for a lot and yet the club will not back him.
I hope nothing comes of this, but it is causing very big problems at Derby.(51)(23)

HI i m from india and i was in mumbai last week and my friend who is the cousin of Mukesh Ambanis daughter tould me that Mukesh Ambani has made a bid for LIVERPOOL FC.
if this deal goes ahead i believe its the greatest point in LFC club .He is in the top 5 list of the richest person in the world and if he gets the club then we can see the 350 pound debit vanish in one go and would have a good amount for transfer.
i wish he gets the club so the good days of LFC comes back.
(ED:– do u have any idea of Mukesh ambanis bid for LFC)

This is the latest on Koptalk.com(30)(28)

My sources indicate that united will not make a bid for defour. they need to see how he recovers from his injury first. fergie's fondness of the lad is clear but he doesn't want to risk another hargreaves situation. so if defour is able to come back, look for united to make a serious bid next summer(12)(22)

According to a website, if Fernando Torres leaves anfield Liverpool will make a 16.5 million pound offer for Diego Forlan and Danish holding midfielder Christian Poulsen if mascherano leaves, what do you think Ed ? {editor's note – not a hope in hell of anyone paying that much for a 31 year old who wasn't up to the task of scoring goals for the team that created the most chances in the EPL. Big big big news cesc fabregas has signed a 5 year contract with barcelona, he will receive 5.9m a year, which is around 110k a week, all that needs to be done now is a fee to be agreed.

a fee of around 42m should be enough! this is not bullsh!t it is breaking news in spain! its about time this boring story came to an end, lets hope a fee can be agreed!

TAKEN OFF A CRAP SITE, CESC IS AT ARSENAL NEXT SEASON.

can't remember exactly but swear fabregas is under contract for about another 3 years, so he can't have possibly signed a contract unless arsenal have agreed a price! = bullst

Newcastle are going to attempt to sign 3 players before the season starts, with at least of 2 being successful. Expect the arrival of one CB, a midfielder and a striker. Early reports are that Newcastle are attempting to sign Ben Arfa on loan with a view to buy for £6m. This will end Newcastle's interest in Tom Cleverley. Focus will shift to finding a replacement CB and a new ST. Neither Sol Campbell or James McFadden are targets.(31)(33)

facts

my sources are telling me:

– the spanish press are making up rubbish, cesc has not agreed personal terms as he is committed to arsenal for the near future.

– barcelona/chelsea/man utd/arsenal are ozils options but claims he would love to play in england.

– sergio aguero and deigo forlan will both be staying at athletico madrid this summer but simao may be heading to anfield.

– all of the rumours linking jack wilshier/ keiren gibbs/ jay simpson to the spl are not true!!

– robbie keane will be joining aston villa this summer.

– honda will not be signing for arsenal.

– roy hodgson will not be signing paul konchesky from fulhum this summer.

– steckernberg is number 1 on wengers keeper list as fulham have a too high asking price.

– carlton cole has got 1 week to decide on his future.

– ashley cole and didier drogba are not leaving chelsea but paulo farrera could be on his way out of stamford bridge.

In reply to;Departures;

– Macheda – With him having the same development problems as Rossi he may be sold for a fee of £8 Million, but the more likely option is a 3 month Loan Spell at either a Spanish, Dutch or English club.

– Welbeck – this depends on his Pre–Season but its likely he will go out on Loan with Newcastle being the Media's choice HOWEVER Blackpool seem to be the more Likely choice as they have a lack in firepower.

– Michael Carrick – Michael has been given one more season to prove he can be consistant at the highest level for an entire season, if he fails it is likely that he will be sold sooner rather than later with Everton or Aston Villa being the likely clubs, he may even go this season depending on IF anyone is signed in a midfield role, if he goes a fee of around £7–12 Million has been reported.

–Arthur johnson.Well Macheda is going nowhere his agent and fergie have already stated he is staying this year and may be loaned next year.

Just my opinion(39)(24)

 25 Jul 2010 23:55:21
Cutis davies going to spurs straight swap for keene, barry and ireland +10 million for milner cert.

To the fool that said that(By the way i support villa):

Firstly, davies for keane are you joking?? keane's price will only increased because of a good pre season where as davies hasnt played in ages and keane is worth more. This one is even more ridiculous: Ireland +10mil for milner is realistic but barry! Martin would never take him back because of the wage situation and the way he left us and there is no way barry would rejoin us(as he left for 'champions league football'). If this happens i will throw my season ticket away

does anyone have any villa rumous ? try and exclude the same old keane/mcgeady/parker/ireland if possible(15)(36)

 25 Jul 2010 23:48:10
Story in the NOTW today (no not the Torres one) that City will have to sell 12 first team players or leave them out of his Premier League squad. Rumours on destinations:

Bellamy – Spurs or Villa (if they fail to get Keane)

De Jong– probably abroad, but could be Liverpool if they lose Mascherano

Jo – again, probably abroad, but Everton if City will lower their price

Stephen Ireland – Liverpool linked but probably won't have the cash. Could go to United if they don't get any of their other targets, but probably more likely to go on loan. Could go on loan to Liverpool for a season with option to buy at the end, long–term replacement for Gerrard is a possibility.

Bridge – could go to Liverpool, from what I hear he'll stay though.

Vieira – will probably leave for a low sum.

Richards – Linked with Liverpool but he'd be a reserve there and they don't have the cash, he could go abroad or somewhere like Villa or Spurs who always seem to be buying players they don't need.

Onohua – likelihood is that he'll go out on loan, but a host of clubs are reportedly interested. I fancy him to go to Everton but I have nothing concrete on that it's just opinion.

Santa Cruz – either her or Adebayor will in all likelihood be shown the door, Santa Cruz is likely to go abroad, or to Liverpool on a loan, with an option to pay after the takeover.(44)(41)

Jagielka really hope we get him he is a gem and everton might sell with Rodwell a similer player to Jags maybe 16M wilshiere and vela on loan for the season or rosicky as part of the deal with gallas on a free maybe everton have a free replacement invest the money else were in the team

Rodwell is a totally different player to Jagielka, Jags has been turned into a great centre half and it looks as if Rodwell has developed into a top midfielder. How often do you see 2 players in the premiership going on loan as part of a deal? If Gallas is on a free then Arsenal have no way of influencing where he ends up and finally can't see Moyes taking a punt on Rosicky. Great player though. In short a very silly expansion of an already sensationalised rumour.

Celtic rumours

Frst of all in response to a few of the rumours on here about Celtic, we havent spend anywhere near the £10M (quoted in todays Sunday Mail)
Mulgrew, Du–Ri–Cha & Ledley were all free transfers, Murphy came in at somewhere between £800K–£1.2M, Juarez was approx £2.5M.
Even if you includes the deals expected to be completed in the next 48 hours
Hooper from Scunny for around £2.4M
Kayel from Maccabi Haifa for around £1.2M

Plus we have also brought in about £3.5M from the sales of Boruc, McManus & and a few squad players how have done hew–haw over the past few seasons.

David James will be having talks on monday but iwould suspect that he will get a few offers from EPL sides as well, although i think he might be tempted by getting a crack at playing in europe this season & maybe next as well.

Lawrence from Stoke will sign for around £2M if McGeady is sold, Celtic will be looking for at least £8 – 10M for him. Ramis is another name being banded about for around £1.5M although i think he would have been brought in by now if he was a real target as Celtic had deal all the research on him in December. Neil has already said that he wanted another leftback, centre half & forward (Hooper) so expect a few more players to join.

If McGeay is sold expect Celtic to try and bring in a proven big name player, but only if McGeady gets sold.
Sammi–@rse will be punted at first offer over £1M
Hinkel will be sold as his contract runs out next season.
i think that so far the best deal for Celtic is Botd going to Boro, his goals have helped rankers out too many times and they don't have the cash to get another goal scorer like him. Still i suppose they can always rely on the "honest mistakes" by the match officals again next season.

one last thing, Celtic won't be paying Mowbray any compensation, he is currently serving a notice period by Celtic, but is free to take any job is he resigns from the club (same as what peter grant had to do)

Airdrie Utd

one of my local teams ( i can't stand them though, perfer Albion Rover), Airdrie only have 4 players registered accoredingto our local paper, they have no cash what so ever and could go out the game (again) if they can't get any players in the next week or so.(45)(46)

Rumour going round the pub tonight that apparently Bentley is going to sign for Villa. Personally I don't get why we've been linked with a another winger when we already have plenty at the club.

However Bentley is a much better player than McGeady and would be my prefered choice. The only way I can see him fitting into the team however it if the formation is 4–4–1–1 with Ashley Young Playin as a Second Striker and Bentley playing on the right wing. If a deal was to be agreed it would be in the region of £7 to £10 Million.

To this idiot

"England international Matt Upson wouldn't get in the Stoke side? Yeah cause your defence is riddled with quality players – You pleb."

No he honestly wouldnt, he is one of the most over rated players in the prem! Shawcross is twice the player Upson is, and Faye and Huth would also be above him in the pecking order. No wonder West Ham did so badly last season with that donkey at the back. And him somehow being an England international doesn't exactly make him brilliant at the moment does it? Emile Heskey went to the world cup, enough said.

Heard a rumour from friends in Madrid, shocked me slightly at first but thinking about it makes some kind of sense:

The rumour is that Purslow has been talking with Real Madrid, enquiring about Marcelo, but also Arbeloa! He thinks he could get him cut price, I'm not sure I believe it to be honest but there you go.

Personal view is that he's speaking to Antonio Lopez, who may be allowed to leave but is a useful player. Though seeing as he is behind the average Capdevila and adapted rb Arbeloa in the reckoning for Spain's left–back position, I'm not sure Liverpool fans should be swooning over him just yet.(18)(42)

Lyon are also entitled to 15% from the sale so would not even have to mtch the bid..just 85%..however they will not do this and Remy will be a hammer by tuesday(38)(36)

It is mentioned in all the sources you mentioned, but they also state that it was origionated from the NOTW. So again, it is either NOTW showing some "creative writing", or Hodgsen gave a direct interview to the NOTW, which is simply idiotic, given the fact that it is the Sun, and hodgsen is not that stupid(18)(14)

Editor.. did tom hicks and george gillet really have a meeting in london about a possible takeover this past week? and if so do you know the outcome of these talks? {editor's note – the meeting was just to talk to Barcap about how the process is moving along. Just them getting an update and agreeing on the next step. Nothing more than a formality I was told. I just wonder why they had to come all that way for a mere formality.....}(23)(25)

Ed – have you heard anything concrete about the gallas to celtic story, i read in the herald that he was in contact with celtic, but not much detail? J.C. {editor's note – I have heard nothing concrete about it at all, I find it very unlikely being honest. His wages were obscene at Arsenal, no way on earth Celtic could afford them.}(19)(38)

Truth around Rangers?

I am a Rangers fan and like everyone I am hoping they sign someone decent in the not too distant future.

WS was quoted yesterday on the club's website saying that going for Eagles represented a risk, as they were spending most of what they had to available to get him.

I believe the Eagles deal would have been around £2.5M tops including wages over the next year.

Since then having sold Wilson to LFC that might be £3.5–£4M now. I'm thinking WS will see if an offer comes in for Bougherra in the next fortnight before we spend even £2M of any cash available.

3 players in, 2 wide players, a striker–
Expect loan offers and SPL young prospects to come first with just the one relatively big signing at the end of the window?
Especially if Bougherra goes or Celtic don't qualify for the CL proper.

Should make sense of some of the targets we're linked with on here! Still.. 3 in a row! Believe(47)(39)

According to Spanish press reports of today (Sunday) Real Madrid midfielder Rafael van der Vaart is eyeing a move to the Premier League with Chelsea or Liverpool.

In the reports Van der Vaart admits that he would welcome a move to England in his search of guaranteed first–team football and is quoted as saying;

"I have heard of the interest from Liverpool and Chelsea – and that is very flattering. If either of them were willing to offer me first–team football, I will be honest that it would be very hard for me to not listen to what they had to say.

"I think I have the relationship with Madrid where they understand my position and would let me hold talks.

"I expect the majority of transfers to be concluded in the next two weeks, and if Chelsea or Liverpool wanted to talk with me I would at the very least listen to what they have to say.

"They are both giants, and if they could offer first–team football it may prove impossible to turn down.

"I wouldn't be willing to play for any clubs in Spain out of respect for Madrid, so in my eyes the only other place to go would be the Premier League.

"It's the only league that competes with the standard of La Liga."

With key words being a guarantee of 'first team football', has Purslow been in Madrid to discuss the signing of Van de Vaart?(71)(20)
