I was at an interesting meeting today. Emirates are looking to take over the premier league sponsorship from 2011/2012. It will be known as the Emirates Premier League. Also heard that Benitez has been sacked, its just a question of when he will leave. Liverpool don't want to be managerless so they are looking at a replacement. Either way he won't be around in a few weeks.

Arsenal are still in the hunt to snatch fulhams Smalling. Man U have yet to finalise the contract and how they will pay the £7m to fulham. Only saving point for Ferguson is Wenger wants the player straight away rather than at the end of the season meaning fulham would need to buy a replacement this week which is why their first bid was turned down – Arsenal now could offer more to beat their rivals to it. Huntelaar or Victor Moses will be signed even though Wenger says he is not interested.

You missed the point you plum, he said if they had the same money..of course they can only sign players from these clubs, winning the SPL you get about 5 million, coming bottom of the premiership you get 25 million. Noone argues that the old firm can compete finacially but you cannot dispute the size of celtic and rangers in both support, infrastructure.and something you clearly no F–all about, passion. People really shouldnt just use their imagination on here. They should use common sense instead. Look at it like this:
– Liverpool want a striker on loan because they don't have much money. AC Milan only want to send Huntelaar out on loan – they don't want to sell permenantly.
– Crystal Palace have entered administration meaning that they have to accept any bids for their players. Moses has already stated that he is a Liverpool supporter and would like to move there. One bid of £2m has already been rejected. If they go back with £3m, then he is likely to go.
Any other deals for the Reds will be in the summer when Rafa will have £20m plus sales to spend. The sales are likely to be Mascherano and Babel – bringing in about £30m. Aurelio will leave on a Bosman. Also likely to leave are Spearing, El Zhar and The Greek. With the £50m that Rafa will have to spend he will try to buy a left back, a centre back and a replacement for Mascherano. The centre back will be Kjaer. The left back will be Taiwo, and the midfielder will be Defour. (If he gets his first choices). Also joining will be Chamakh and Jovanovic on Bosmans.
Basically Rafa will then have at least two players for every position:
GK: Reina / Cavalieri
RB: Johnson / Degen / Kelly / Darby
CB: Carragher / Skrtel / Agger / Kjaer

Pompey News:
Well, a partial silver lining has appeared with the news today that the embargo has been lifted.
However, the club is NOT out of danger – it needs new and proper investment or there's a good chance it will be gone by the start of the new season.
As for rumours, only loans and free transfers allowed at Pompey – have heard that Quinton Fortune and Steve MacLean are interested in moving to FP. Darron Gibson could also join on loan until the end of the season.
Pompey will do well to stay up, but they need to sort out off the field problems asap!

My colleague has just returned from a business trip (with Navarro Consultores) in Valencia, Spain. Over lunch the small talk turned to football and one of the Spanish associates mentioned that David Villa will be moving to Liverpool FC after the world cup. Apparently he said that Villa was interviewed recently and said that he had a desire to play in the Premier League but only for Liverpool FC as he has many friends there. Now I don't know if this is true or not but in the past David Villa has been seen at Anfield (director's box) and at Melwood. The Echo and Daily Post both have photographs of this.

Rory patterson(coleraine) has signed for glentoran allowing gary hamilton to move to his boyhood club glenavon. patterson has signed a pre contract and hamilton will only move once grentoran get their man, however, David platt(coleraine manager) may let patterson go early if he can get a small fee.

Claims yesterday on here that AFC would pursue KJ Huntelaar due to them 'making a hash of a deal for Chamakh'. Sorry to disappoint those (still) deluded scousers, but Chamakh won't be joining LFC either! Arsenal's interest in the player ended following a series of bids in August. It was made clear that he would not be sold in January with Bordeaux setting the pace in the French Ligue. The player also stated that he would NOT be moving in January and that he 'hoped' to have his future sorted out by March 2010 prior to the World Cup. Juventus is now his likely destination. Arsenal are NOT interested in Huntelaar either. Dzeko and Remy are possibilities, but if a deal cannot be done in the next few days, expect Wenger to drop interest altogether and stick with the team he is currently deploying. Bendtner due back in the next 2 weeks and Song returning following Cameroon's KO last night. Urgency is now far less than it was at the end of December.

KB is unhappy at lack of investment and continual selling of best players HOWEVER he has a good working relationship with Trevor and KMc.

Kallio of Fulham is wanted however Fulham need to find cover as they are also on the brink of selling Smalling leaving them without cover.

in this transfer window we will be getting a striker on loan and a left back and maybe a left mid if babel is sold.
huntelaar is the most likely the striker that is going to be loaned in with plessis going out on loan.
rafa really wants an english left back, and he is looking at bridge, koncheskey, warnock and baines. bridge wages are to much and city want to much for him, so very unlikely. baines is a everton player, so that's a no go. koncheskey and warnock is the most likely, koncheskey's contract is up at the end of the season and wouldn't cost that much and warnock would like a return to liverpool and with his mysterious injury is the most likely. if all these fail then taiwo is also being looked at.
and if babel is sold then rafa will look to sign turan or mata.
in the summer there will be a clear out of players. skrtel and agger are going and aurelio as is contract is up at the end of the season. benayoun, riera and kuyt might go.

Liverpool are planning to annouce Huntelaar on loan today but spurs and everton are trying to put a spanner in the works. Spurs are wanting to buy Huntelaar but Ac milan only want him to go out on loan at the minute and spurs need to off load pevlychenko first to make room. Everton want him to replace Jo but want Ac Milan to put a buy summer offer on the table. Liverpool could not agree wages last week with huntelaar but Ac Milan wanted to take Babel on loan in return. But Rafa want Babel to stay to link up with Kuyt and Huntelaar . This was the piont of the loan in the first place. The deal was scrapped at this point and liverpool the looked at the Kebwyne jones option with babel going to sunderland on a loan swap . But yesterday there was a new twist as AC Milan said they where willing to take Plessis on loan to relieve the wages bill at liverpool and also paving why for Huntelaar to link up with Babel and Kuyt as planed thus making it more of a realism all 3 playing in the national team. Liverpool have made today the cut of point for the deal and unless Everton can come up with a better deal and spurs palming off pevlychenko then a news conference will be hold today before the wolves match. Rumours about my 2 more focused clubs; Liverpool and Man Utd. A lot of people will see these as biased views and unfair views for both sides with me being a Liverpudlian, but they are just things I'm hearing.
Liverpool are planning a loan swoop for Klass–Jan Huntelaar. It is likely N'Gog will go on loan should the deal go through, with both Newcastle and West Brom looking at the striker. The yanks have the club up for sale yet being as daft as they are they are valuing the club at £600m and no businessman in their right mind will buy the club for that, which has £400m debt.
Man Utd are far more interesting. Ferguson will leave in 2 years and depending on how he does in his new job Darren Ferguson will take over. The owners don't think there could be a better replacement for Fergie than his own flesh and blood. Ferguson is looking to leave his boy with an easy job and will sell the deadwood of the team. Van Der Sar will retire yet stay on as the goalkeeping coach. No replacement will be brought in with Foster his replacement, Kuszczak his second. A goalie will noly be brought in if Kuszczak hands in a transfer request. Vidic can't settle in England and will leave in the summer to Barcelona or Real Madrid for £30m. Porto defender Bruno Alves is his replacement and the centre back will sign for £15m. Nani and Anderson will both depart back to Portugal for £10m and £8m, although it is likely Nani will be offered in exchange for Di Maria as well as £20m going to Benfica. Berbatov won't be sold. Ferguson is just as stubborn as Rafa and won't sell the Bulgarian until he proves he can do well, similar to Rafa and Lucas.

Manchester United have reportedly joined Tottenham in the race for Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko., and have expressed an interest in Athletico Madrid goalkeeper David de Gea.
Barcelona are preparing a bid for Wayne Rooney, according to reports, with Real Madrid also interested. Sir Alex is believed to be planning a clear–out, with Dimitar Berbatov, Nani, Anderson, Zoran Tosic and Nemanja Vidic all tipped to move on. Nani has been touted for a exit as part of an exchange deal for Benfica winger Angel di Maria, while Tosic could go to Cologne on loan.

I will probably be sacked for this post, but feel that I have to so that the truth can be told:
I used to work at Cardiff City FC, and recently we have had many 'supposed' suitors willing to invest in us.
The fact is that not ONE penny has been invested, and it is all a charade to keep Peter Ridsdale at the club. Dato Tan Ghee and Ben Steele have only been invited to the club, in order for Pete to look good.
The club lost £4m in the last financial year and has not kept up to date on either HMRC or Youth PAYE contracts. The only way Cardiff will stay afloat is by selling off its top players by 1st February. Even then, it will be tight until the end of the season.
Cardiff's debts are £16m – this does not include the amount owed to Langston.
Ridsdale has lied so many times to staff and fans that he needs to go. Even a visiting chairman recently said that he was 'a complete waste of sperm'.
