With seemingly none of the top 4 (or top 8) for that matter grasping a stronghold onto their premier league or champions league aspirations, this summers transfer window becomes all the more interesting aswell as busy.

The cycle begins with Manchester City as they will inevitabley be the big spenders once again this summer. With Roberto Mancini's future far from certain at Eastlands it also seems just as likely that a new manager will be at the helm. The likely man: Jose Mourinho.

Under Mourinho a plattiful of transfer activity would be undergone with his targets focusing on Maicon – Inter Milan and Brazilian wing back. John Terry as a leader of the side, Davide Santon as a long term soloution to the troubled right back slot, Pactrik Viera would be signed permanently and Joe Cole as a free transfer. Mourinho would also be keen on completing the double dream signings of Gerrard and Torres. With Mourinho at the helm they too might find a new burst of interest.

The consequenses of this on the rest of the premier league and Europe for that matter will be tremendous. On a smaller scale John Terry's arrival along with Maicon would signal the end for Wayne Bridge whom clubs such as Aston Villa, Birmingham and in particular Tottenham would be interested.

Martin Petrov would also leave Eastlands along with fellow flop Robinho. His failure in England has put off many clubs including Chelsea however Barscelona manager Guardiola remains interested and a move could be on the cards.

One player definately not leaving is Wayne Rooney. Contary to some reports Raooney will not be sold whatever the price. However Manchester United will not hesitate to strengthen with still a relatively untouched 80m from the Ronaldo deal last summer. Ferguson realises the new challenge of Manchester City but also recognises that the spine of the team (Van Der Sar, Neville, Schoels, Giggs) hav hit the twighlights of their carreers and need replacing. Expect to see Sir Alex competing with Manchester City for the signature of Davide Santon or perhaps the more experienced Phillip Lahm. The midfield area will also be radicated with big name signings.

Away from Manchester and down to London where transfer activity will be high. Chelsea are not expected to keep Joe Cole past the end of the season. Manchester City will be favourites to sign the left winger but Arsenal and Tottenham will also be interested. Chelsea's main target however will be that of Argentine forward Sergio Aguero. The attacking playmaker has attracted the interest of many top clubs but Chelsea will finnaly make an offer to secure the player to Stamford Bridge.

Perhaps the two most wanted in the premier league though will be Jack Rodwell and Dan Gosling of Everton. The two youngsters will spark a bidding war between the top clubs including Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City and Arsenal.

If deals are finalised for these players a welcome cash injection for Everton will be provided and will mean Moyes can chase tagets such as Landon Donovan and Kieran Westwood.

Not forgetting the red side of Merseyside and Liverpoll will also be unusuallly busy. With the potential crippling sales of Gerrard and Torres Liverpool could find themselves in tatters, especially if they fail to gain a Champions League place. If both circumstances occur then expect Benitez to cancel his contract and leave for the vacant Inter Milan post. A Liverpool side potentially managerless, without Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres and also competing in the UEFA Cup could spark the beginning of the end for the proud club.

Finnaly Kris Boyd will certhainly command interest from Premier League clubs as his contract expires in the summer, Fulham and Stoke are amongst those interested but favourites to land the Scottish Striker are Birmingham. Staying in Glasgow Robbie Keane will complete his loan move to Celtic Permanent.

This could very well be the most exciting summer since the window began.

Newcastle will this week bring in at least two players on loan the expected players to come in are Jason Koumas who has rejected the chance to talk to west brom, and I have heard that danny shitu has spoke to newcastle about a loan deal he was so close to joining newcastle at the end of january. There is still a big chance of fedirico macheda from man united. With there always being a posibility of portsmouth of–loading a few players to championship/premirship clubs.Chris hughton should really try this team whitch i think is the best newcastle team possibe to play in the championship :

This comes on good authority, Juventus are in talks with west ham for tying up a deal worth 18m + 1 player for Carlton Cole, This price is on the basis that a formal written agreement is in place before the world cup starts.

I live in Glasgow and am privy to a lot of the rumours involving the Old Firm clubs. I have it on pretty reliable authority that Mowbray is bringing in striker Erwin Hoffer of Napoli this summer.

21 Feb 2010 19:11:32
Tadgh Purcell currently on darlington's books is being tracked by Swindon FC. Wilson hopes to take him during the current emergemcy window with a view to a permanent signing in the summer.

Anybody saying that Arsenal will sign more than one striker this summer is crazy, as the Gunners already have a full suite. Look for Chamakh's pre–contract to come to fruition, although if that fails Arsene could look elsewhere. The only way Arsenal brings in 2 strikers is if one is an U20 prospect like Lukaku, who by the way is probably Chelsea–bound, or Lacina Traore.

I don't think Lloris or Neuer will be available. They will have to look elsewhere. Connexions at Emirates tell me it is Roman Weidenfeller.

Stefan Savic is probably signed but another battle–tested CB is due, too, and that will be Gregory Van Der Wiel, who can play right–footed CB even though he is currently at right back for Ajax.

In midfield, look for Eden Hazard (Arsene REALLY likes this lad and will splash out Reyes–type spondulicks for him). Also expect a surprise bid for Mahamadou Diarra.

In summary:

IN:
Weidenfeller
Savic
Van der Wiel
Diarra
Hazard
Chamakh
Traore (Lacina)

OUT:
Campbell
Silvestre
Senderos
Gilbert
Vela (loan)
Eduardo (loan)

Its official Peter Ridsdale has walked from Cardiff City fc, and has been banned from owning or having shares in a club. It has come out Cardiff city are actually in just under 74.5 million debt and Peter Ridsdale took £4.25 million out of the club. Expect a announcement in the next 3–4 hours. Steve Borley has flown out to Malaysia to secure a £7 million pound investment for the club.

Right, I used to work for Cardiff City and whilst the club is in a bad state they are not in that level of debt!

The club is about £17m in the red, and will need a substantial cash injection of cash come the summer in the form of a takeover.

I have heard strong whisperings that Ridsdale is in talks with an individual who is 'very interested' in becoming the new Cardiff owner but it's not any of the groups from Malaysia or USA – these are smokescreens for a big deal in the summer.

Ridsdale is 95% certain to walk, and Jones will follow him in the Summer – heard that Reading want to offer him the manager's job if they too change ownership in the summer (looking likely there that Sir John Madjeski will stand down in the summer).

A few rumours going around:

Alex McLeish wants owner Carson Yeung to stay out of the transfer business or he will not sign a new deal at Birmingham. Yeung tried to sign an Argentine striker for £11m and Pompey's Dindane from Lens for £5m on transfer deadline day. Players Birmingham are targeting in the summer are Roman Pavlyuchenko (£11m), Kris Boyd (£5m) and Aiden McGeady (£7m).

Arsenal are set to offer William Gallas a new two year contract which will see him stay at the emirates until the summer of 2012. The Chamakh pre–contract agreement is yet to be fully completed but will be done soon. Expect the signing of a goalkeeper in the summer, probarbly Hugo Lloris of Lyon as United will go for Neuer of Akinfeev. A commanding centre half will also be signed to replace the departing Mikael Silvestre, possibly Mamadou Sakho or Christian Zapata. Sol Campbell will sign a one year contract extension in the summer. Philippe Senderos will leave on a free for Everton.

Chelsea will look to sign David Villa (£40m) and Angel Di Maria (£36m). Real Madrid look set to stick with Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema as their striking options.

United look set to make an £18m bid for Everton's Jack Rodwell after his impressive performance against them yesterday.

Santos will sign Robinho permenantly from Man City in the summer.

Manchester United will launch a bid at the end of this season for Jack Rodwell should either Everton miss out on a Champions League slot or a competitor joins in the bidding for the youngsters signature. They will use Michael Owen as bait and hope a £18m + Owen will be enough. Also Gabriel Obertan wlll be made available on a short loan until January 2011 next season as he needs first team games. there are divided opinions on Vidic as the Glazers want him sold before reaching the age of 30 and are trying to create a bidding war for him. Micah Richards and Stephen Ireland are also interesting the reds

21 Feb 2010 10:39:49
Rodwell will NOT go for at least 30m, Rooney went for just 25m plus possible add ons and Moyes said at that time he will not let Rooney go for less than 40m. He will go for around 20m plus add ons, and Everton will bite their hand off so lets be realistic people!

Also United are in debt but will still have their 20m summer transfer kitty and with Tosic certain to leave for around 5m they will have a bare minimum of 25m, though i don't agree with all the jealous United haters on here, i do doubt they will put all their kitty into a Rodwell deal, nevertheless their WILL be funds available FACT! So people need to stop with all this NO MONEY nonsense, of course they will not be buying Villa, Silva, Ribery etc but expect more players going to United because that is inevitable no matter how much we hate them!

Hi i work as a scout for barnet who as many people know arsenal reserves lay there home games at the underhill. i was recently talking to a few of the staff and one of the major talking points was summer transfers aparently mr wenger has been checking out craig gordon as a possible target along with steven taylor as he is a london oy and english. lus a checky dip at west ham for mark noble. back u targets are scoot loach from watford as well. wenger is tghinking aout getting in for rodwell involving eduardo and possibley giving diaby on loan. eboue, almunia and also troare are fighting for there spots in the team. expect fabianski, silvestre, gilert to be sold. with numours reserve players going out on loan. i don't think that a striker will be signed as he has total faith in bedtner, rv, walcott, arshavin, sunu freeman, vela and watt for next season so there is lenty of striking options. jack wilshere will get a more games next season as he will be coming in to relace fabregas who could be leaving next season if nothing happens next season.

I have heard that liverpool look to sign Lukas Podolski in the summer. Seems that Portsmouths Nadir Belhadj is likely to join, in the week or so. To me it's a silly purchase Liverpool sold a better player in Dossena.

Source: News Of The World (So, don't get hopes up!)

United: a new 4 year deal is being looked at to keep Nani at Old Trafford. Van Der Sar has agreed a 1 year contract extension which will keep him at Old Trafford until summer 2011. Everyone delighted at Rooney's attitude & form this season.. SAF says he has found the "perfect" position for Rooney now. Vidic also sick of rumours linking him away from United.. He is staying.

Chelsea: Apparently Chelsea are ready to make a £30m bid for David Villa in the summer. Chelsea are also favourites to sign Angel Di Maria in the summer aswell.. Apparently!!

Arsenal: Stephen Ireland has claimed to have said that he hopes Arsenal step up their interest in him and hopefully sign for them in the summer. Chamakh deal still not done yet.

Liverpool: Carragher interview about life after Liverpool. He is dreading quitting Anfield..

City: Mancini reckons the City boss can get Torres and Gerrard for £140m despite Torres saying that he will not leave Liverpool for another EPL club and Gerrard saying that he is a scouser born and bred and will never leave the club..

Re: Liverpool Takeover

You're right about Purslow and the loan..

but I have news that the Yankee Doodle dandies will be gone come the end of August.

Kenny Dalglish to be made a Life President, along with Sky Sports' Phil Thompson.

Robbie Fowler will return as a non–executive Board Member.

Only thing is that the investor/s aren't British but from Switzerland. Still, Kermit and Miss Piggy could do a better job than the current 'Muppets In Charge'.
