I suggest you visit the official LFC site. The chairman has been quoted as saying "We're hopeful and I wouldn't put it any stronger than that that a deal can be done by the end of the transfer season." I think you will find the Chairman's words have confirmed what James 007 said months ago.
The only difference is the Chairman is lying about "no deal has been done". The club was sold in May.
What happened to those of you that believed Hicks's statement on Sky sports about "£800M and no takeover until end of year or 2011? What do you have to say now?

To the editor trust me when i tell u arteta will sign a new deal, ive been assured him and pienaar will sign, Irelands interest is because of Ben Arfa deal in trouble of over add ons but it could still happen {editor's note – but Ireland and Ben Arfa are hardly similar players are they? RANGERS RUMOURS
First off, who ever said Luca Toni will be arriving needs to get a grip. Also, I wouldn't expect to see Raul Tamudo, formerly of Espanyol, walking through the door because he's 32. James McArthur is away down south and I don't know how many more times it can be reinstated that he will not be joining Rangers. Another odd name being mentioned; Bosko Balaban will probably not be joining as he, for one is rather old, and two is on trial with Toronto FC who he will sign for.
Kevin Thomson and Steven Davis are both very unlikely to leave as they have both stated their loyalty to the club.
At least one of the following will leave:
Allan McGregor £5m (unlikely, but Portuguese and Premiership teams interested)
Danny Wilson £4m (Spurs are have been interested in him for quite some time)
Madjid Bougherra £8m (Host of clubs, Seria A, La Liga and Premiership all looking to acquire his services)

Manchester United have bolstered their youth ranks with the capture of Northern Ireland under17 captain Luke McCullough.
The Portadownborn centre back has captained his country at a variety of levels and inked a twoyear scholarship deal at Old Trafford.
Speaking to MUTV, he admitted to supporting archrivals Liverpool but was ready to cast aside these ties.
"It's any boy's dream to get any club across the water but to get United, it's an added bonus, " McCullough said.
"The facilities were first class and the standard of player was better than anywhere else I visited. I'll just have to forget about it [Liverpool] for now.
The player will be able to use countryman Jonny Evans as a role model and hopes to follow him into the United first team.
"It's a great achievement for somebody from Northern Ireland to be a regular at Manchester United, " McCullough added.

Darel Russell is set to join either Stoke (Pulis loves him) or QPR. Personaly I think Stoke is likely. Thats where he will be training until everything is sorted.
David Stephens is also set to join Hibs tomorrow (slightly disapointed with this as he looked like a good prospect)
Michael Spillane will join Brentford, practically done deal.
Also, Norwich have a South American on trial, no names, nationalities or anything mentions, may come to nothing!

Good evening one and all,
Again, its fantastic reading some of the rumours on here, the "yeah right." to the "mmmmmmm .. that's interesting!!"
But, enough pontificating, onto the main crux of this posting.
I read this whole website once a day, usually in the evening when my wife is watching some crap on t.v. and I am increasingly becoming aware of the Man Utd rumours they seem to be getting less and less, in the sense of the amount, and the amount of players we are being linked with.
This is proving the fact that we don't seem to be making any moves in the transfer market the list of players we seem to be constantly linked with Silva, Gourcouff, Fabiano, Dzeko etc all seem to be willing to ply there trade anywhere other than O.T. and proof of the "lure" of O.T being on the waine, just look at recent activities Silva (Man City), Gourcouff (want to apparently join the French national squad at Arsenal), Fabiano agent has says his "client"(why are they always clients now, not my friend, or calling the player by there name?) has said he only wants to join AC Milan, Dzeko more likely to stay at Wolfsburg (maybe he gets a new golf bluemotion every 2 years?) or Chelski and now a very small mention on Talk Sport this morning was that Man Utd have pulled out of the race to sign Joe Cole!! Could this be honestly true? One of the best and most creative tallents England has produced in a while, and the supposidly biggest club in the country can't even sign him on a free? { (editor please comment)
And who do they say that United are looking at? Some 20yo "wonderkid" from Greece (Pop quiz footy fans, name the last world class player to emerge from the football hotbed that is Greece? 20 points to anyone who does!) WOW someone pass S.A.F a pair of tweezers, so he can pick out the splinters hes going to recieve from scraping that barrel so hard! And constantly he says he has money to spend but won't be held ransom to overpriced players mmmmmm me doth think the skin has only just regrown after having his fingers burnt from having to pay £31 million for Berbatov!
Now I don't claim to be S.A.F (his record speaks for itself), but unfortunatly I have some news IF YOU WANT THE BEST, YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT! or maybe I doth simplify to much!! And in the past, he has shown no compunction in spending massive money on 1 player, so what has changed? NOTHING!! You can't spend what you don't have!
I genuinly don't expect United to read this and go "OOOOHHHH, lets prove these people wrong", and go and buy 3 4 good £15 20m players at once, but, buying 1 or maybe 2 (am I the only person who thinks our right back position is very very very weak!) would go someway to appeasing the growning concern in amongst United fans that we have zero money

Hey even I'm a ManU fan but as far as my sources tell me, there has been no official effort whatsoever made by SAF to bring Ozil to OT till date. However, there is some good news, according to my sources, the Ninis deal "has been finalized". He is a great addition to the squad (believe me, you'll realize that once you see this guy in action).
Other than that, Micah Richards was also being rumoured as a ManU target..sorry, but he's joining Tottenham as far as I've heard (I really don't believe there was any substance to the rumour in the first place).
Berbatov and Anderson are being touted as addons to a swap deal (its still not clear for whom..but Berbatov is heading to Germany).
Sneijder is being chased by the club (100% confirmed, expect an official bid after the world cup). However, Mourinho might want him at Real Madrid, so its not going to be that easy.
As reported earlier by me, the club also has its eyes on Hazard and Pjanic, however, with Ninis coming in there might not be any further bids in the "young & upcoming midfielder" category especially with the limited budget.
Akinfeev is joining in January (again, the deal is as good as done).
I can also confirm that Milos Crasic and Luis Fabiano "are not joining ManUtd" although both of them were considered as valueable additions to the squad at one point of time. Both of them are most probably heading to Italy. Krasic's deal with Juventus is stuck at the moment because of monetary reasons Juventus have made a bid of 15 Mil, around 1.2 Mil short of the asking price (CSKA), and are unwilling to go beyond that figure. Fabiano's agent has confirmed that he is going to Italy with AC Milan and Juventus being the interested parties. Again, ManU have never made an official offer for the Brazilian (he's good but at his age, SAF may actually prefer Benzema).
SAF may bid for either Chiellini or Kjaer (depending on the funds available and his state of mind at that point of time he's still undecided) but only if Vidic leaves for Real Madrid. However, my sources at OT tell me that Vidic's move is becoming more and more unlikely with each passing day. Apparently, Mourinho has had a change of mind/heart. And believe me, Kjaer hasn't yet been transfered to "any premier league" team (though the reports coming in might be telling you a different story).
Again, if the Vidic deal happens, SAF may opt for a cash plus swap deal involving Benzema..but that's a BIG IF..
Carrick is on his way out with Villa and Tottenham interested (value: 911 Mil).
Nothing on Sanchez (Sad..would have loved to see him at OT). His valuation has sky rocketed after the world cup, however, he has personally said that he'd love to be a Red Devil, so you never know..but I can confirm that there has not been an official offer as yet neither has the club tried to contact his agent/Udinese in the last week or so. SAF is interested.
Not all of the above transfers will actually materialize but efforts are on for all of them. It all depends on the funds coming in from the sales/swap of players like Vidic, Anderson and Berbatov. The transfer kitty available is around 25 Mil (don't know if that includes the fees for Smalling and Hernandez).
Also, as I mentioned in my earlier post, 1 more "Star" signing is being considered (especially to bring the Green and Gold campaign to a halt, atleast for sometime) but despite my best efforts .. no names yet! My guess is as good as yours (maybe Dzeko, VDV or Ozil..who knows)

Now hodgson has finally taken over, lfc will start buying/selling players. mascharano definatly going around 25mil and yossi 6mil plus there is 1015 mil to spend, so we have 4045 to spend. expect a d/m possibly barry as man city brought toure but his decision to chase the money may go against him so murphy may come back for 1 last season, also a winger to come in and wright phillips and ireland maybe in for 15mil combined. i wouldn't be suprised if gerrard stays and he convinces milner to come aswll as he has been qouted before saying lfc would be his dream move. bentoslfc

Arsenal:
Laurent Koscielny's £8.5m transfer from FC Lorient to be confirmed by the end of the week, possibly as soon as Friday, with the 24 year old centre half set to put pen to paper on a £25,000 a week deal. I cannot see him being William Gallas' replacement. There will be another, probarbly more expensive centre back signed. The most likely options are Phil Jagielka, who Wenger has reportedly made an improved £10m offer to Everton for, or if this second offer for the centre back is rejected, Wenger will reportedly move for Werder Bremen's German centre half Per Mertesacker. With William Gallas, Sol Campbell and Mikael Silvestre all set to leave on frees, we will have four centre half options next season in Vermaelen, Jagielka/Mertesacker, Koscielny and Djourou.
The other signing looking increasingly likely is the £3.5m signing of Fulham keeper Mark Schwarzer, with Hodgson having left for Anfield, this is more likely than ever. This will see the departure of Manuel Almunia, with Lukasz Fabianski, Vito Mannone and Wojech Sczensny to provide cover.
Cesc will stay at Arsenal, with the player himself reaffirming today his love for the club and his pride at being captain. This means no midfielders will be signed and no striker, despite the link with Balotelli. This means Marouane Chamakh, Laurent Koscielny, Phil Jagielka OR Per Mertesacker and Mark Schwarzer being the four big name signings this summer, and only William Gallas, Sol Campbell and Mikael Silvestre the only first team departures.

Here's an interesting one I heard earlier, which would tie in a little with something the Editor said earlier regarding Everton's midfield..basically, I've heard that Arteta could be heading for OT. Arsenal were apparently interested but now that interest in Fabregas seems to be cooling, they've held off and there's a chance of a deal that would see £18million plus Michael Carrick going to Goodison, and Arteta heading to old trafford. Not gospel like, but the source seemed genuine and it would make some sense.

Roy Hodgson will not be signing any of his former players from Fulham, as this is part of his contract. However, Roy is indeed 'very' interested in signing two of the following:

Joe Cole
Juan Mata
Yoann Gourcuff
P.S Milan Jovanovic will definately sign a 3 year contract with the club, seeing of interest from Rafa and Inter.

Firstly, Paulo Sousa will be appointed and he will have money to spend, despite Milan Mandaric making cut backs. This is because foreign investors will be giving him money to spend to assemble his squad.
These unnamed investors have completed the take over of Leicester but it will not be made public whilst there is still paperwork to do. Nigel was 'pushed' to Hull, rather than him wanting to leave because the new investors wanted change.
There is also a delay in the transfer of Pratley Forest because he is waiting to see if Sousa is appointed, which he will be, and will follow him to Leicester.
Bruno Oliveira will follow Sousa, as well as one other member of Swansea's back room staff, but I didn't catch his name. RANGERS TRANSFER NEWS
I have it on very good authority Rangers have now agreed terms with Jose Goncalves ex Hearts and will sign him on a free within the next 2448 hours.
Roy Hodgson will make Bougherra one of his first signings for Liverpool with a fee in the region of £5.5m agreed. This move will end their interest in Wilson who will stay a further year and see out his contract.
With the Bougherra money Walter will step us his interest in left midfielder & Northern Ireland internationalist Chris Brunt from WBA.
Walter is also tracking two more players which he has been interested in the past. Tamudo is available on a free after leaving Espanyol but will need persuading and the salary to entice him to join the Scottish Champions but gauranteed Champions League football may tempt him to Scotland. However, Wigan manager Martinez is also sniffing about the Espanyol strker..
The other is West Ham's right sided player Julian Faubert who Walter tried to sign back in 2007 from Bordeaux. Walter is in discussions to try and take him on loan for the season.

I just like to say no fulham players will be moving to Liverpool as there is a an agreement in Hodgson leaving Fulham that he will not be allowed to sign any of their players.

Nottingham Forest hope to make there first signings of the summer with Motherwells Mark Reynolds and Aston Villa's Nicky Shorey near enough signed.
Also Forest have also made a bid for Cardiffs Peter Whittingham for around 2m but this deal will take time because Cardiff are looking more for around 3m as Burnley have already had a 1.75m bid rejected.

Sorry.. But that's a total of 11.5m13.5m (depending how much we ask for Davies who's running about 57m). McGeady is worth at most, 8.5m, and if it's any higher, we can find someone much better or keep Milner. Plus, with Davies being looked at by Spurs and Liverpool, ShoreyFulham and Young Sunderland, I doubt they feel like going to the SPL. You can keep McGeady if that's the case.

Take Sheffield Wednesday rumours with a pinch of salt: Gary Teale and Giles Coke have been reported in the local paper today, and Neil Mellor on loan was reported on Sky Sports. That's simply passing on what is already being drafted around.

The reasons behind Nigel Pearson's shock exit from Leicester will become more clear in the next month. Firstly, Paulo Sousa will be appointed and he will have money to spend, despite Milan Mandaric making cut backs. I'm not gonna bother answerin in celtic/rangers/catholic/protestant/ireland/northern ireland posts anymore unless there is a name with it, so I know what context it is in, i.e banter, jokes or someone looking to start nonsense on here, at least if there's a name you know who it is and if they're havin a laugh or what, there's too many nameless ppl and you don't know what their motive is for bringing these subjects up, now that i've said my piece on that bit.
Willie McStay I don't exactly know what happened over the past day or 2, however about 3 weeks ago I posted that Wiilli Mcstay put himself forward to be interviewed, and subsequently was, for the St Mirren Job as he already back then he was surplus to requirements at Celtic Park, so I don't think it's a knee jerk reaction to anything. IMO Lennon wants his WHOLE own Back Room staff, and Mcstay was brought in/back when he resigned from his hungarian club. THis was not a Lennon appt, and therefore when Lennon got the job it was pretty clear he would be going. One of my mates whos brother is training to be a physio at Uni is on two day release at Arsenal and has said Kkoscielny is at the emirates medical centre for his final medical and tieing up the deal and he has been asked to get the gear ready for later today for 2 more medicals for Veloso and Scwarzer.

Hi hope this gets posted as i really want to show how much crap people talk about. If people read what Martin Broughton said about the sale they will know that Hick nor Gillette have any say in who the club gets sold to and to what price.
He said and i quote "The owners can't block the sale of the club. I read all too frequently numbers being floated about in the media, normally associated with Tom Hicks's name. I would like to make it clear there is no number. There is no base line.

The reasons behind Nigel Pearson's shock exit from Leicester will become more clear in the next month. Firstly, Paulo Sousa will be appointed and he will have money to spend, despite Milan Mandaric making cut backs. This is because foreign investors will be giving him money to spend to assemble his squad.
These unnamed investors have completed the take over of Leicester but it will not be made public whilst there is still paperwork to do. Nigel was 'pushed' to Hull, rather than him wanting to leave because the new investors wanted change.
There is also a delay in the transfer of Pratley Forest because he is waiting to see if Sousa is appointed, which he will be, and will follow him to Leicester.
Bruno Oliveira will follow Sousa, as well as one other member of Swansea's back room staff, but I didn't catch his name. Chris Powell will stay on as first team coach at Leicester, with Mike Stowell, Jordan Milson, Beaglehole, Peake also staying on as the backroom staff. Milan Mandaric has lined up a new chief scout and it is likely Matt Elliott will join the staff as well.

Just been informed that Blackpool had Gary Hooper at Bloomfield Rd yesterday to be shown around the ground. He does have a choice between Blackpool, Leeds and Derby. If this deal does come off it will me a brilliant bit of buisness for the pool.

Lloyd Macklin Signs for the Gulls, after being let go by Swindon Town, He played for Torquay on loan during the season, but was injured and did not have the playing time to proove himself but did score one for the Gulls. Buckle seems to be quite enthusiastic about his arrival, saying
'Lloyd showed some good form during his loan spell here even though he picked up an injury. He has electric pace and is another young player who can contribute on the pitch now and also has plenty of potential.'

6 players out/potentially out of Chelsea Joe Cole, Ballack, Belletti, Stoch and soon to be Carvahlo and Deco. Possibly Hilario plus 1 more senior squad member. So 8 out potentially.
Any realistic rumours on who is coming in? A lot of boots to fill. Youth players may be promoted, but if Chelsea wants to win the Champions League, a couple of matchchanging players need to be brought in.
Bennayoun appears likely to be brought in as a squad/bench player (but he is no young spring chicken) but are any others linked on here realistic or just pipedream signings?

I didn't write anything about wilson that night as his situation is completly different, he can sign elsewhere in Jan, they can afford to pay him wages, but won't be held to ransom (a la boyd) the difference between Boughy and Wilson is Bougy would like to stay, hence the reason I mentioned that night that he prob will, but left out Wilson, IMO wilson will leave, it makes financial sense for Rangers, and tbh Smith usually doesn't give in to ego's like that.

Okay not posted for a while because I was waiting for the manager situation at LFC to be sorted out.
As i've said in the past if Roy Hodgson gets the job it means that the takeover talks are not going well. Only I was wrong. The talks ARE progressing and there are now three interested parties. The issue now more complicated however.
The offer from the group which are connected to 'antelopes' has been in for a while now (intial offer made in Feb 10) and has been accepted by most of the board. This is the offer that Broughton is trying to push and simply needs to be accepted and ratifed by the Premier League. The EPL is aware of this bid and they have done the 'fit and proper' test. The only problem is that the board have now split.
Purslow is not backing this offer. He is convinced that a new (third)party which has expressed an interest since last week (Wednesday to be precise) should be sounded out. This third party is a group of investors, two of whom were involved in a bid in 2008. Their last bid was made directly to Hicks and he turned them down flat.
The party in the middle has offered and withdrawn two proposals and is now back again. However this bid has no real support from either Broughton or Purslow.
The issue of Hodgson is NOT indicative of anything I got that wrong. The main ownership candidates are happy with Hodgson although, if successful in their bid, they will set a time limit on his tenure, based on success (in exactly the same way as Mansour gave Hughes some time before jumping in at Man City).
The next two weeks are now crucial. RBS WILL call in the loans before the end of THIS year. The board know this. Gillett and Hicks have stopped communicating with each other (again) and Gillett has given his backing to the first bid. Hicks is trying to hold out and his mouthpiece at the talks is PURSLOW. However Hicks is aware that his position is close to untenable. Unless he sells up soon, his ENTIRE business empire will crash. The viability of his other businesses (nonsport) rests on him selling his sporting interests.
Yet again I urge you to read between the lines starting with today's press conference at Anfield. And listen very carefully when Steven Gerrard gives his opinion. I'd love to say I have more knowledge but in the last three days the board have become even more secretive if that's possible.

No.. I don't think Warnock is likely to return.. He was signed last summer and was a huge reason we had one of the best defenses in the EPL. Unless a bid of 10m was launched, don't expect him back. :)

Celtic are to announce Charlie Mulgrew today 1/7/2010 which was confirmed at the Q&A session with Peter Lawell.
Sol Campbell has said yesterday that he will take a good part of the month to think about Celtic's offer and should come back with a decision after his wedding and honeymoon. Cha Du Ri the South Korean wing back was to fly in yesterday I don't actually know if that happened hopefully someone could shed some light on this one but all should be tied up within the next week at most.
New rumour coming about at the early hours of the 1st of July is that Celtic may be looking at Chris Eagles, Burnley sources claimed this last night.

A bit of transfer news from Birmingham and the Black Country:
ASTON VILLA:
Suprisingly enough, Villa are looking to sign four players. Goalkeeper Brad Friedel is in surely his last Premier League year, and West Ham's Robert Green is being looked at for around £10m. Newcastle defender Steven Taylor is another target, for around £2.8m. Spurs midfielder Jamie O'Hara's future is uncertain, but a £6m bid could go in for him, seeing as he is destined to depart White Hart Lane this summer. And then injuryplagued Brazilian forward Eduardo is another name being linked with Villa, the Arsenal man could come to Villa Park for around £8m.
BIRMINGHAM CITY:
Following the arrivals of Enrich Valles, Ben Foster and Nikola Zigic, just two more players are being lined up at St. Andrews. Martin Petrov's arrival at Bolton could see winger/fullback Matt Taylor's opportunities limited, and Blues are looking to capitalise. A £2m bid is expected. And another area they're looking to strengthen is up front. With only Cameron Jerome, Nikola Zigic, Garry O'Connor and Kevin Phillips, another striker is needed. Following the cooled interest in Mamelodi Sundowns and South Africa striker Katlego Mphela, Blues are to bid £6m for Fulham striker Bobby Zamora.
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS:
With six players already signed at Molineux, and fierce competition within the squad for the 25 players, Wolves have already stated that they expect to sign just one more player. Former loan star and midfielder/defender Michael Mancienne could be brought in either on loan again or permanently from Chelsea, with Wolves waiting for Chelsea's decision. If that move falls down however, Wolves will bid £1.8m for St.Etienne's powerhouse midfielder Guirane N'Daw to add steel to the midfield.
WEST BROMWICH ALBION:
Having just been promoted from the Championship, Albion have only signed three players this summer. However, another three signings are expected to be made. Sunderland goalkeeper Marton Fulop could be brought for around £3.3m, along with Stoke winger Liam Lawrence, with the Potters expected to sell for £1m, following his collapsed move to Celtic. And finally, former Portsmouth loan star targetman Frederic Piquionne is expected to sign on at the Hawthorns soon, with Lyon reportedly accepting a £1m from the Baggies.

Rumours in edinburgh tonight are that ivan sproule and michael hart will be revealed by the end of the week as hibs players.
Don't know of Michael Hart but I do know that Ivan Sproule won't be going back up north in the next week. He may well do in the coming weeks after Steve Coppell has had a look at him in preseason and doen't want to hold onto him.

Alright everyone, firstly, just to say thank you to Daviebhoy for his realistic and accurate reportings of possible moves to celtic. Its nice to see feasible rumours other than us signing Lukaku (as if!) and a raft of players our league.
Just to give my thoughts, I believe ChaDuRi, Campbell and Bullard will all sign by 7/7 as well as Mulgrew by Friday. I went to school with Mcgeady in Giffnock (no need for names) and have heard through a mutual friend that Martin O'Neill and Davie Moyes are both enquiring about taking him to england with Aston Villa his preferred choice. Cash plus player swap from both. Also expect an audacious bid Holland DM Orlando Engelaar. Pretty random but his name has been mentioned around parkhead.

My cousin lives in Madrid and the word around Madrid is that Barcelona have told Cesc that Torres is their priority and if they cannot shift Ibrahimovic then they will try and buy him next season.
