Ian Harte looks to be a done deal, and Alan Smith is already being linked. But everyone seems to have over–looked DAVID HEALY, who will once again grace the Whites with goals from the bench as he once did. I more or less guarentee this one.

Real Madrid are trying to pip their acrh rivals Barcelona to the signing of Argentina captain Javier Mascherano while Barca are busy wrapping up deals for David Villa and Cesc Fabregas , Liverpool would prefer to keep Mascherano but if the player decide's he wants to leave and it looks like he does then they will be forced to sell, the two Spanish giants tried and failed to take Mascherano to Spain last year but now with just 18 months left on his contract they may have to sell if a big offer comes in they are valuing the player at around £35million, Real Madrid have offered £30million but Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is going to play hard ball and only accept player exchange he is looking for a straight swap for Gonzalo Higuain who is yet to sign a new contract and does not get on with a few players in the squad mainly Christiano Ronaldo, Florentino Perez is thought to be looking towards another Argentine to replace Higuain Carlos Tevez of Manchester City who is also thought to be unhappy at his club.Liverpool are going to replace Mascherano with Valencia's £8.5million rated Ever Banega, while Manchester City have apparently been looking at a number of strikers but the papers have linked City with an endless supply of players in the last 6 months hear are just a few strikers they have been linked with that could replace Tevez –––Torres, Benzema, Ibrahimovic, Cardoza, Balotelli, Aguero and Pato but who they get is anyones guess, I would say Cordoza, Benzema or Balotelli are probably the most realistic but maybe Ibrahimobic if Barca are Buying Villa City are the only ones who could really afford him.

Southampton FC are looking to sign the following players on free transfers (although a couple of them will go to tribunal as they are under 24) to add depth to the squad:

They are also looking at possible loan deals for Vokes and Surman from Wolves and Lucas Juktiewitz from Everton. All 3 our Southampton born and bred and Saints fans – and all have expressed a desire to play for the Saints.
Saints are also looking at Simeon Jackson and Adam Le Fondre as well as Craig Bryson for small fees.
They may also take a look at Racon, Bailey and Semedo now that Charlton will definately be in League 1 next season and are in financial difficulties.
They may also take another look at Neil Danns and Elliot Ward – both players they tried to sign back in January. Dann's cousin runs a pub in Soton apparently!

Wikipedia is not the most reliable of sources HOWEVER, I know for a fact that Liverpool were seriously interested in Marin about 18 months or so ago – and I mean seriously. So may be they have renewed their interest. Likwise people poo–poo the Joe Cole rumours but again I know Rafa has been persuing him for over 2 years so maybe this time – while he's free, he'll get him. Well past his best though.
I wouldn't get to carried away over major transfers in until the ownership and manager side of things is sorted out. Lots of minor players will be on their way though and some seniors and Dalglish is making his brief a reality by recruiting youngsters and has bagged a fair few in the last couple of weeks. particularly at kiddy and academy year 1 level. Likewise expect Dalglish to release a fair few of the current ones as well (in fact he has already started to)

The rumours of European stars coming to England are pure fantasy. The weak pound and hikes in tax and NI make it very difficult for even our top clubs to attract the euro stars.
Chelsea and Man City could do it but Chelsea would have to ditch their wage policy and Man City will still struggle to attract top stars whilst they are not in the Champions League.
An English club would need to pay a player like Kaka well over £200k per week to match his current deal allowing for exchange rates and higher taxes.
UK based players will be at the centre of the deals done this summer but even then I don't see too many mega deals and it is more likely that there will be a lot of part exchange deals and loans.
If Villa are willing to let Milner go then the player will have a choice of perhaps four clubs and whilst Man City will offer the best wages it remains to be seen whether the player may be more motivated by the opportunity to win trophies. If they do decide to sell then Villa may prefer players in exchange rather than cash.
Having qualified for Europe Spurs will be keen to hang on to their best players and maybe recruit two or three more. Bale is almost certain to stay but Modric may be allowed to leave if they can be tempted by player exchanges. One major surprise may be that the under–rated Peter Crouch may join Manchester United. I'm sure SAF has five or six strikers that would be above Crouch on his wish list but for the reasons already stated most will be out of reach. Crouch could play with any of the other United strikers and would not be too expensive.
All of the Premiership clubs will be looking towards South America for potential acquisitions, as wages are much lower there, but those that come to England are likely to be young and relatively unknown.
That aside expect lots of part–exchanges and loan deals with very little money changing hands.

I have a mate who works down at colney and he told me that Nicky Butt, Andy Carrol, Leon Best and Also Fraser Forster. It is believed that Nicky Butt will be arriving on a free transfer while Andy Carrol will be coming on a season long loan from Newcastle along with Fraser Forster. Leon best is rumoured to be sealing a deal to norwich which is believed to be in the rejon of 1.5–2.0 million. Also seen in the city centre this week was Marcus Tudgay and Tommy spurr both of these players are rumoured to be agreeing deals at carrow Road following Sheffield Wednesday's relegation from the championship. Another couple of Lamberts Transfer Targets for next season are the released duo from Sheffield United Jmaes harper and Henri Camara.
Darel Russel will be signing a new deal a carrow raod which should keep him at norwich until the end of next season at least. The released Gary Doherty is rumoured to be signing for plymouth. Rumoures buzzing around the training ground is also Owain Tudor Jones is going to leave norwich for Yeovil

Liverpool, Fulham and Arsenal are apparently battling it out for the signature of 17 year old teenage sensation Romelu Lukaka, the £12million rated Anderlecht forward has been dubbed the new Drogba after impressing in his first full season, however his father has come out and said he will not be allowed to leave Belgium until he finishes school so if any deal does go through this summer he would have to be loaned back to Anderlecht for another year, the player is thought to be a fan of Liverpool but I cannot see the merseyside club spending £12million on a striker this year that will have to be loaned back for a year as they need cover for next season with only Torres, Kuyt and N'gog , however Arsenal on the other hand probably could buy the player and loan him back for a year as they have plenty of options up front for next season with Van Persie, Chamahk, Bendtner, Vela, Eduardo and even Arshavin.

In response to this. Could I firstly state that the takeover of Liverpool Football Club has nothing to do with taking over the club as a capital. Kop Holdings and Kop Caymen are the franchises up for sale. Two holdings that in general are currently attracting higher interest rates from Wachovia and RBOS. As a club itself, however, the rumours of new owners picking and choosing what they do in terms of managing / playing staff is merely rumour. Owners are coming in, that is a fact, a bid from a interested party has been submitted, around £425 million. Therefore, the holding companys are literally being extinguished and the balance of money stays with the new owner (s) and not in the hands of banks and societys. Rumours are fun, however they need an aspect of fact. This is fact. Liverpool Football Club will be back on its feet financially firstly, then go from there.

Have just received a very interesting telephone call from a senior Arsenal employee regarding Cesc.
Bullet Points :
•No bid has been received from Barca
•Cesc is not for sale
•Cesc does not want to leave
When pressed about why there has been no official AFC response to these ongoing rumours, they trotted out the well worn 'we do not comment on transfer speculation' response. Wenger and Cesc have not even been in the same country at any point over the past week for the supposed meeting to take place.
There are still many unanswered questions, but I thought I would share this to try and bring us all back down to earth, and it appears the club are trying to get this message out there, albeit unofficially for now.

i don't think this summer will be a disaster for arsenal since wenger always has a backup plan like fabregas was backup for viera and van persie was a backup signing for thierry henry.
yoann gourcuff will be baught out of his contract for 17.5mil by arsenal if fabregas leaves, van der weil will be signed if gallas leaves and buffon will sign for 6mil and arsenal will clear juventus's debt for viera.
arsenal can't possibly fail because people often forget they are technically the richet club in terms of money available to spend.

Now that Ian Holloway has been linked with the West Ham post, more details about his situation at Blackpool are slowly emerging. First Holloway has stated that he is on a basic wage with additions for wins, league position etc.The problem with this is that he has been too successful! I announced on here 3 days ago that Birmingham will make a move for Paul Konchesky, this is now on Sky Sports. The fee will be in the region of £3–5m with 1 year left on his current contract. Ben Foster is another move that is well publicised for £6m. This will be announced tomorrow as a done deal. McLeish wants to take Birmingham into Europe next season and has outlined another 4 players to join. With Foster replacing Hart and Konchesky replacing Quedreue, the players coming in will replace departing faces. Teemu Tainio will join on a permanent basis for £3m, giving backup to the entire midfield. Charles N'Zogbia is one well publicised to McLeish, an £8m bid has been rejected, about £14m will be needed. McLeish finally wants 2 strikers, with the £6m option of Benitez being rejected, leaving the Brum strikeforce at Jerome, Phillips and McFadden. Kris Boyd will join his former national boss for £6m and either Bobby Zamora or Mauro Boselli will sign. The Zamora price–tag is set at around £7–12m, Boselli is a £10m target.

Why sell a perfectly good young keeper like Cavalieri then replace him with someone a lot older (Dida) or someone who will cost just as much (or more) than we will get for him in the first place (Hennesey).

Why spend £15m on Cahill or Kjaer? Carragher still is quality, he's just had a bad couple of games this season (lets face it so has Ferdinand). Agger, Skrtel and Kyrgiakos are all good players and we also have youngers like Ayala and San Jose (if we don't sell him to Athletic Bilbao) both of whom everyone at LFC seems to highly rate.
We do need a left–back as Insua needs time to marture but Tawio & Cissoko are both going to be playing CL football next season so why would they join Liverpool. Kolarov's Lazio haven't made it to the CL but 'the special one' wants him at Inter so what's the point in him uprouting his family out of Italy?

Mascherano has once again stated him and his family cannot settle in Liverpool so if he wants to leave, he can go. However, if Barcelona sign Fabregas, they won't go for him as well. Madrid are a possibilty but he's a bit too defensive for their fans and culture so where? He's always said he's always wanted to live in Spain but if neither of those clubs want him and he goes to Italy (Juventus) he'll surely look a prize idiot?
Riera has burnt his bridges but only expect to make about £5–6m back on the £8m we paid for him (don't know where to though as the Russians won't pay want he wants.
Benayoun, Lucas & Babel are all favoured by Rafa so don't expect any of them to leave.
As for targets there's no way Joe Cole will sign! Spurs, Man Utd & Arsenal can all offer him CL football not to mention Inter and several other big clubs. Banega may come but once again he has CL football with Valencia and no that Barcelona have brought David Villa, that club may not need to sell him. Same goes for Navas of Seville who now has CL football next season. Turan may come as he is a so–called 'lifelong Liverpool fan' but once again Arsenal & Tottenham (who are apparently both keen) can offer him CL football.

No one player is bigger than the club, however, two that speak out Stevie & Nando have given the whole club food for thought. The unrest in the dressing room throughout the last half of the season was clear to see from the Kop. Rafa will go before the World Cup and be replaced by Jose, the Real thing is pure media hype, Jose dosn't do conventional we all know that and his stock would hit new heights when he turns the club around. Comings and goings, yes there will be some but most of the high profile players will stay as the feeling around Anfield at moment is the take over has all but happened and will be released to the fans soon. It just said on Sky Sports that Barcelona are yet to make a bid but when the bid goes in it's expected to be 35m Euro's i am not saying Arsenal will accept that because they will not, but that is the initial offer Barcelona will start with!
The bloke also said that Arsenal never paid a penny for Cesc when he was taken from the Barcelona Academy, people on here have been saying Arsenal paid 100k for him and that he was not wanted by Barcelona, that really contradicts this story as Barcelona said he was taken from them and very much wanted, Arsenal paid no fee therefore they feel the 35m euro offer is adequate!
Barcelona have a 50m euro kitty put back for Cesc which i believe is around £42m, that is the maximum Fabregas will go for which is way lower than what some people on here have been predicting, a player plus cash offer may come into play but seems they value Yaya Toure at 22m Euro's there will not be much money offered as well as the player.

Herd a rumur circulating Liverpool that the takeover will be done within the next few weeks. however, don't expect city style spending, the new owners are not interested in that, but would rather spend wisely each year and put most of the money into the new ground. This will eventually allow us to be self sufficient do to increased revenue.
Mach is definately leaving due to family problems and will be replaced by Ever Banega. Fee will be aroun £25–30 Mil. Could see a player exchange will either Real or Barca. Expect Banega n Lucas to fight it out for DMC spot with Stevie n Aqua in the 2 CM spots.
Torres will stay n will be supported maxi, kuyt, jovanovic, Ngog n new striker. Possibily Carlton Cole or Pav (who is dog St). Could see Rafa Van Der Vaart or Higuain as part of exchange deal with Masch. This may be due to Rafa not trusting Yanks to give him cash to spend.

Obviously the very big story at the moment is that Cesc Fabregas is set to join Barcelona from Arsenal.
Wenger, who obviously doesn't want to lose the Spanaird, has come up with 2 possible deals. Either £40 million or £25 million plus Yaya Toure.
However, Barcelona are also looking quite keen to offload Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has not performed well in Spain. This, combined with the very likely signing of David Villa, means that Zlatan will be surplus to requirements. Barca would be willing to offer Zlatan in a straight swap with Arsenal for Fabregas. However, Man City are thought to be offering a £50 million for Ibrahimovic, as Mancini would love to work with the striker again. This move could see Adebayor move abroad, with AC Milan and Juventus both eyeing up the striker.
In conclusion:
Fabregas could move to Barcelona for either £40 million, £25 million and Yaya Toure, or Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Ibrahimovic could move to Arsenal in a swap for Fabregas, or to Man city for £50 million.
Adebayor to either AC Milan or Juventus, probably for betweeen £15–£20 million.

Just heard from a very reliable source that LFC are close to being taken over. He claimed that the deal was a couple of weeks from being done. He said he's not sure who the buyers will be, but his source said that a lot of money was being bandied around at boardroom level. From his own guesses he thinks it's more than likely a consortium, rather than a "sugar–daddy", which means stability rather than big spending splurges. Hopefully it will be enough to keep the big names there and get the new stadium under way at last.

Igor Akinfeev should be brought in to replace Cech in the near future (they can fight for the top job over the next 12 months or so until Cech leaves).Akinfeev is better that Delac, though Delac is one for the future. Roman is close to CSKA and Akinfeev, Dzagoev and Doumbia are both being lined up for potential futures at Stamford Bridge (Tomas Necid, Vagner Love and Milos Krasic are also possible movers on the CSKA–Chelsea axis)
For Deco forget Hamsik unfortunately he seems Inter bound (but he'd be ideal if he changed his mind..). Pjanic really stood up during the CL but RM have been after him since he sent them out. Dzagoev is a Chelsea fan, and part of CSKA's Chelsea factory. David Silva will probably end up staying in Spain, as good as he'd be he is not the most likely of the group. Kaka is also possible if part of a swap with RM for Ashley Cole. Kaka is also possible but unlikely.
Contractually Ballack is still up in the air, he's been linked with Liverpool (not happening), Inter (maybe), Bayern (most likely). If he goes Schweinstiger is the obvious replacement. Matic will have a role to play but we need a true replacement for Michael as Matic won't be truly ready for a few years yet.
Joe Cole is all but gone. Front runner Angel di Maria aside, the options boil down to Miroslav Stoch, Gai Assulin and Thaigo Alcantara both of whom's availability depends on what happens at Barcelona transfer wise (regarding Cesc), the man from their cross town rival's, Javi Martinez is another option. Hatem Ben Arfa is an unlikely signing, but would be great as would Diego Perotti or Joao Moutinho.
Neven Subotic and David Luiz have all been mentioned, with Luiz (alongside Bruma) is probably the best option to replace Belletti and Ferreira. Darijo Srna, Juan Manuel Vargas and Dani Alves are all possible movers but unlikely ones. Giorgio Chiellini would be a great signing, unlikely but with Carlo around you never know.
For Anelka, the clear front runner is Aguero. Pato seems destined to one day join Chelsea, Milan are desperate not to loose him for next season the likely outcome will be Pato signing this season and being loaned back to Milan, whilst Aguero/Suarez come in this year. Finally there is Luis Suarez who is in if Citeh outbids us in the race for Aguero. Villa and Torres are possible but unlikely.
As for Kalou there are several options, Moussa Dembele a highly talented and strong physical forward, who fits in well with our style of play. Though potentially outclassed by rising stars Romelu Lukaku and Lacina Traore any of those three would be good signings. There is also Neymar. Romelu Lukaku is a must! Seydou Doumbia's move to CSKA moves him into Abramovich's orbit.
For youth signings, Uruguay's Urreta should be a 2012 priority signing. Christian Eriksen and Romelu Lukaku should also be key targets.

Just to follow up on some lfc rumours going about today on this site – LFC are only a week away from a complete takeover from what I am hearing. The Graham Hunter comments were not on sky sports la liga as being suggested by people on here. It was talk sport in an interview with Ray Houghton (check it out if you don't believe me!) he was giving his nailed on views as usual! A Cole to Madrid – Cesc Fab to Barca and Jose Mour is going to Madrid just a case of agreeing and signing! As good as done. Then he threw a spanner in that by saying Jose has stated that he has been approached to take over as manager of another club. One that has just fallen out of a cl place's in their league, and also had trouble with the current owners. Hunter then went on to say he (Jose) has said that if there was a complete takeover and money available to strengthen the current squad then he would take this job. Hunter was then asked what team he may of been talking about, no answer was given. Read into that however you want. Also Jose stated after he won the title with Inter that he was far from signing at Madrid as the next manager and the papers have it all wrong because he will not make any decisions until after the Cl final when he has a few days to decide what is best for him and his family as he is not happy were he is. PNE HAVE GONE
A meeting which has been going on all day and has only just ended in the last 5 mins has resulted in Trevor Hemmings finally pulling the carpet from under PNE as he failed bring the rest of the board round to his way of thinking.
His team of negotiators (a team of 5) have been at a meeting with shaw & co. all day but the dead lock could not be broken. One of the team of advisors finally made a call to Hemmings around 10.05pm to advise him of the stalemate. It was at this point we understand he made the decsion not to finance the club any further.
A statement will be made to the LSE at noon tomorrow.
