Middlesbrough will only bring in new players in January as replacements for any players being sold.
McManus will stay as a Boro player until the end of the season because thats when his large salary contract runs out. He will only look at loan deals with Boro still paying part of his wages until then.
Boro would listen to offers for McDonald, however with him playing well this season they are no longer in a rush to move him on until the summer. Reading could be tempted in taking a risk on him.

When this happens in the next two months, Paolo will be sacked, William patey has been unimpressed by Paolo's lack of confidentiality with the press, this will now be his downfall, Swindon fans will not be happy with the manager being lined up to replace Paolo, Ian Dowie has been approached and is rumoured to be waiting in the wings.
There will also be some playing staff changeds.

Millwall will not increase their bid for chris wood and chairman JB hopes that wba will accept our bid, loads of teams have asked about wood but we really want him. We have made an informal bid for a striker but he wouldnt say who. So we have bidded a million and other clubs with money want him as well so i reckon we wont sign wood.
Millwall have had their bid of £1m plus accepted by WBA for Wood and he will sign on the 1st January NOLU MIIIIII

The local newspaper website today reports that Gus Poyet wants to spend big in January transfer window on a striker or 2. Rumours are that one of Gus's targets is Connor Wickham.
Also, I can confirm that that I have been told from an extremely reliable source that Gus has also looked into the possibility of signing LA Galaxy forward Robbie Keane on loan.

Southend Manager Paul Sturrock is contemplating a move to Bristol Rovers after being told he is their number one candidate. Sturrock still has a house in the West country and is thought to be infavour of the move.
