Celtic ins
given – loan. he seems like he wants to play football which will be guarenteed. also joining his boyhood team is a lure. man city are also reluctant to sell to arsenal as they are 'rivals'.
weiss – loan. definately keen to follow in moravciks footsteps and will get a season on 1st team football possibly in europe as well.
honduras lb – currently having medical however it seems to be taking a long time?
hopefully a foward that can score possibly becchio of leeds that they have been linked with.
possible outs
fortune – wba. if celtic get offered a good price they will take it as hes been a disaster and doesn't score enough. di matteo is keen to take him after being thumped by chelsea.
samaras – anything between £1–2m will be accepted as hes not in lennons plans. also doesn't score enough.
hinkel – in last year of contract and therefore don't want to lose for nothing.
rasmussen – barnsley have made an enquiry. i would expect him to stay as he only signed 6 months ago but again i don't really rate him.
brown – 90% of me thinks he will remain a celtic player but with thomsons injury i wouldn't be surprised if strachan tries to buy him. however lennon would be reluctant to sell him.
crosas – i can't see him playing much this year so may leave.
only a few of these will happen most likely hinkel and samaras.

If you don't believe it is a money issue then the only other reason is the managers decision making. I think he is (wrongly) over confident about his experienced (old) players. We were not good enough last year and unless he buys a quality midfield player will not be good enough this either. People talk about Defour but I havent seen enough. Thinking logically if Madrid, Barca, Chelsea, Inter and similar are not after them, then why are they good enough for us? Transfer window is open until 31st so lets see what SAF does. On 1st Sept let us see if we are the same; if we are then we should consider that there is something wrong in the club.

Some problems with the rangers rumours.
bullard – wanted 75,000 a week to join celtic so how can rangers afford that.
owen – once again high wages. rangers said they won't pay more than 20,000 p/ w. and injury prone.
alan smith – i know hes a rangers fan but i doubt you would pay around £5m and his wages at newcastle will be double what rangers can offer.
bouma – is on trial at psv so will probably sign for them.
jelavic will be cup tied in europe if he plays on wed and rangers are fed up of waiting. also it looks like he will sign for hamburg
more realistic
goodwillie £1.5m low wages and will get 20 goals a season.
welcome – i think they will take a gamble on him.

Lets be Honest why would David James and Craig Bellamy want to join Celtic anyway they play for two competivtive Championship teams in Bristol City and Cardiff City respectivly. The SPL is a League with two Good teams who would struggle in the premiership a further 3 or 4 average sides and the rest would struggle in league One. Face it the Scottish Premier League is a very dull league.

Don't beleive everything you read in the Mirror ! Simpson has several options including 2 London clubs, Bristol City and Ipswich. QPR could be favourites. Same with McCormack, Ipswich still chasing him and he has options in Scotland. Two in demand players.

Both players have agreed personal terms with Hull City, agreement with Arsenal is the only thing in the way of the Simpson deal going through. The McCormack deal is more complicated as it involves Cousin going the other way and he won't take accept the 50% wage cut required.

As I said, others are after Simpson and personal terms are not an issue for the others as well as Hull. It's a question of the whole deal including the agent and Arsenal fees. I know that one club will not pay what the agent is asking for his fee and another can't pay it without it affecting the payment structure for Arsenal. QPR are favourites but who knows. Again, with McCormack its down to the structure of the fee. I think McCormack prefers Hull and Cardiff prefer him to go to Ipswich.(4)(7)

To clear up whether or not he would be cup tied this depened WHOLLY on whether Rapid progress, if they do Jelavic is cup tied for CL group stages, he CAN howver play if Rangers were to make the last 16.
If Rapid do not progress he is NOT cup–tied REGARDLESS of whether he plays or not.

After being ripped by others on this site for suggesting that Ozil won't go to United, and I suspect he'll favour a move to Barcelona (wasn't far off!) over 2 weeks ago, I'm suprised to hear people suggesting that "SAF wasn't quick enough, blah, bah". Is this the same SAF who recently completed the signing of Bebe in the space of 2 days as he believed others were interested in his signature (Real Madrid mentioned by the media)?
Looking at this situation realisitically, I suspect SAF was initially interested, and during an apparent meeting after the Fulham v Werder friendly, realised that he wasn't going to stand a chance of getting him, as Ozil wanted different things (a move to Spain!). I'm 100% sure that SAF really thought that there was half a chance of getting Ozil, he would of – but something happened or materialized that changed his mind.
Could there have potentially been an agreement between two old friends (SAF and Jose), on the Bebe and Ozil transfers? I.e. You keep away from Bebe, and I'll keep away from Ozil?
I suspect that we may see a Real Madrid player at OT very soon, if a gentlemans agreement has been made between the two old friends. Surely if Ozil is to start at Real Madrid, it is in place of an existing player?? Possibly Van Der Vaart?

The never ending saga of Jelavic to Rangers continues. According to Sky Sports News the austrians have said that Jelovic will Not be going to Rangers. This is after a Fee has been agreed and the player has agreed terms with Rangers. The player has also waved a payment due to him from Vienna to seal the move. I think that if Sandaza moves to Hibs you will see Stokes going to Celtic. As a Rangers man I hope this is not the case as I rate Stokes and would love to see him in a Rangers Jersey. The goalkeeping situation hasnt improved at Arsenal so as a fan i would like to see Given bought. After Joe Harts performance against Spurs Given will be no2 and he is way too good for that so hopefully Wenger will pull his finger out sign him asap. Another centre half is definately needed aswell maybe Zapata, Cahill, Kompany or Tasci to come and sure up a very un–easy defence and i think these would be realistic targets for us.
I think there the only 2 positions Wenger will look to improve sadly, personally i would love to see Melo or Nigel De Jong arrive to add some much needed strength, presence and protection through the middle.
With a coupe of these added to the squad and the likes of Gibbs, Wilshire, Lansbury and Frimpong playing bigger parts i think this could be quite a good season for us.
