Crystal Palace are rumoured to be closing in of the signing of Chris Lines on a permanent deal after he impressed manager Dougie Freedman during training last week.
Freedman has also been impressed with Gould, a South-African defender, who is now close to agreeing personal terms on a £ 500,000 deal. The recent arrival of "KG" on a permanent deal has helped sway the move in Palace's favour.

le fondre is in interest with a lot of championship clubs but none will offer him a secure first team place and the right salary, he may move to oldham because of dickov and the backroom staff at oldhams optimistic attitude.
chris porter would be a good signing but is very injury prone and has mixed reviews with the oldham fans due to his contreversial leave, if both of these signings fail then they will look at liam dickinson who has recently left plymouth.

He has told me that Brighton are in a lot of financial trouble and that Bloom their chairman has lost the plot. After signing CMS he has lost all of his money, Lua Lua and Garvan turned down the club after their agents realised what was going on at the club and that Bloom may not have enough money to to finance the club beyond December.
Worrying times on the South Coast it seems.

Stoke will only take cole on their terms; he's not really a priority signing. Midfield and a defender are more likely. There's too many greedy players who would rather sit on the bench at Chelsea / man u / liverpool than play week in week out at one of the so called inferior clubs. Don't expect tp to make any significant signings until near the end of the transfer window when overhyped mediocre players like Dann, jerome & cole realise none of the top 6 are interested. Much better news this week as Leeds' hitherto lacklustre transfer window hots up. Eric Lichaj looks certain to join for this season. There have also been some discussions about a permanent move for the player. Villa apparantley want a significant contribution but would sell for the right price.
Andy Lonnergan talks stalled on wage demands, but the player is now deciding between Leeds and Everton. Stockdale will come in on loan for an initial 5 months.
Sammy Clingan looks likely to join after positive initial discussions with Coventry. The fee is expected to be shy of £1m.
Gradel wishes to stay at the club. Apparantley Leeds don't do new contracts over the summer but will open talks with Gradel after 6th August.(11)(10)
