Football Rumours Archive January 15 2009

Use our rumours form to send us football transfer rumours.

I've got it on good authority from a club insider that Leeds are set to re–sign David Healey from Sunderland, for a cut price of 500k. The transfer will be completed by the end of the week.
My friend works in hospitality at villa park and has just called me and said she has just escorted Diego Forlan around villa park. she said he seemed "very excited" 100% True!!!!!
Man city to offer a staggering £15M for Bellemy, rising to £20M if and only if Man C make Champions league by the end of next season.
Paul Gascoigne is set to be offered a way back into football as player–coach at Newcastle. Joe Kinnear is rumoured to be a strong believer is Gazza's attempt to quit drink. On Wednesday he stated 'this time its for real, i'm quitting'.
"Serbian Gavrilo Princip to sign for Rangers FC on loan this week" I have heard this guy is the real deal – great marksman, deadly infront of goal. The opposition won't stand a chance. Heard he caused a bit of rumpus with his bad boy attitude – he could cause trouble in Europe.
Fulhams Roy Hodgson is reported to be after Man City bad boy Michael Johnson (who has fallen out of favour under Mark Hughes), to replace Jimmy Bullard. As a City fan i will be crushed to see him go.
My brother works down at the Man City training ground and has told me Drogba has come in for a medical. Which is the reason he is not even in the Chelsea squad for the Southend game tonight. Due to the lack of cash at Chelsea, Tevez is being lined up as a loan signing for the rest of the season but is only seen as a short term replacement.
A reliable source of mine, who has predicted transfers such as Cerny to QPR and Zamora to FULHAM told me that Zarate has agreed terms with high flying Reading FC. He will be given VIP treatment which has upset James Harper and Kevin Doyle. Doyle said, "Coppel is going to regret this." As a Birmingham fan i know Zarate will be successful at Reading.
Arsenal are st to offload the under performing midfielder Denilson. This has sparked interest from Fulham and Middlesborough.
Blackburn Rovers are set to sign Scottish under 21 midfielder Peter Ryan from Livingston for £500K. Major things are expected of this young guy.
Liverpool will sell Robbie Keane back to Spurs for the pre–arranged buy back price of 12 million. Degen, Dossena, Itandje, Benayoun and Voronin will also make way, raising a total of 24 million, which, with Keane's 12m, will give them ample funds to bring Kun Aguero to the club. Liverpool will not sign Hernanes or another defensive midfielder as they have the world's best, Mascherano.
Arsenal will buy Arshavin for 13m in the window.
Chelsea simply do not have the moveney to strengthen where they need to, but Drogba and other miscreants/flops will leave in the summer.
Man Utd will lose Tevez to Real, but will sign Benzema for a sum in the summer.
I've just started work in the kit rooms at Blackburn and Big Sam has just asked me to prepare a shirt with 'Harewood' on the back. Looks like Marlon is on his way to Ewood. True
I live over the road from Priestfield stadium; home of Gillingham football club. I often see new players arrive before they actually sign, if u get what i mean. Over the last week i have seen a couple of familiar faces arrive and walk into priestfield stadium. On monday i saw Matty Jarvis walk into the reception area with his agent. Jarvis and his agent was met by Pual Scally and Mark Stimson. As i do not have connections with the club i can only hazard a guess of the fee, i believe it would be in the region of 500K – 750K. The price may not be accurate, but believe me, he will be at his rightful club by the end of this transfer period. Today i saw none other than Darren Byfield, he i believe would be a loan for the rest of the season; with option to buy at the end of the season. Matthew Jarvis will 99.9% happen. Darren byfield will 80% happen.
Watch the news to see these are true. Things are happening at Priestfield. Gills to clinch promotion this season, if not, next season they will win the league. Exciting times for Gillingham fans.

Milan's on loan Yoann Gourcuff was spotted at Newcastle airport just after New Year's. The Bordeaux player is apparently looking to play "bigger and better" football than the French league can offer and does not rate his chances at AC. Consequently he is looking to move into the Premiership.
  I CAN CONFIRM. .

We went to watch Bolton v Hull in the FA Youth Cup last night and as we were leaving the staduim, we bumped into Kieran Richardson leaving the De Vere Hotel with his bags in a taxi. He told my son he would 'see him soon' and set off smiling. .

Mark my words. . I only speak the truth. .
Jay Rodriguez is interested in a loan move to Italian Serie A team Reggina. Owen Coyles wish to see him getting regular first team football will see the youngster, who has scored vital goals recently against Fulham and Queens Park Rangers, move to Italy until the end of the season. This move could also see Reggina defender Pablo Alvarez coming on loan to Burnley.
Manchester City will not sign Kaka or any other massive names in January as these players will want champions league football next season. Expect Santa Cruz and toure (Yaya) to arrive this winter.

Arsenal will tie up Arshavin on the 17th of January for a fee of £15m they will also sign green and upson from west ham with bendtnar and £15m going the otherway

n'zogbia is of to tottenham in their last signing of the window.

Chelsea will produce the shock signing of the window, david silva. Scolari hoping he will cover their weakness down the wing.

Liverpool will throw away their title bid by buying no one this transfer window with the possible exception of heskey but lets be hounest that will not help them score goals.
175 MILLION FOR KAKA??? OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bet all the city fans are running for the kleenex!!! Its just a bid though, and when he realises he isnt going to play european top flight football for a fair few years, something tells me he will stay at Milan. It seems City fans pick a player, then chose a random value. Your not even in the UEFA cup on merit. Took a fair play award to get you there. Maybe your hoping you`ll win that again this year. Your levels of optimism are encouraging though. I do wonder though how long it will be till the arabs get fed up of waiting and sell up, which is bad news if you do sign all those high earners, cause your weekly wage bill will be more than you can generate in a month through gate receipts et al. Even the arabs won't stand by and just lose money monthly. you don't become that rich by having no business sense, although, their purchase of City could be seen as their first financial blunder. I don't hate City. . I love Mark Hughes, cause he`s a fellow welshie, but i am fed up of reading pony articles by City fans dreaming of who they will buy. It could be good for football though, as a lot of clubs will be able to bring a bit of financial stability to their clubs by selling a player or two at ridiculously inflated prices to the Citeh!!! As for rumours regarding my Toffees? Anyone who says we`re "buying" such and such. . check yourself. We are skint. Maybe Citeh will fork out 30 million for Lescott, in which case we`ll have plenty to spend. Loan signings only. Heard big Dave was monitoring the Anelka–Scholari bust up, and is thinking of trying for him on loan. Probably one of our very own dreamers playing silly buggers, but you never know. Look forward to watching Kaka, Villa, Robinho etc in the intertoto next season (if they finish high enough to qualify that is) COME ON THE MIGHTY TOFFEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway Cowdenbeath are to sign Jordan mcmillan on loan from rangers until end of season
CMON COWDENBEATH !!!!!!!
Fabian Delph will sign for Aston Villa this week from Leeds Utd. The deal for the young midfielder will cost Villa nearly £8mil.

Villa will follow this up with an audacious swoop for Brazilian midfielder DIEGO :–) Martin O'Neil will fly out to Germany next week to put the final touches to a deal worth around £15 mil. O'Neil sees DEIGO :–) as one of the final pieces of the jigsaw to push for the Champions League places in the Premier League.

Villa will be letting Harewood (Stoke) and Osbourne (Watford) go during this window.
Arshavin signed by end of today by Spurs. Levy in Russia. Deal done back in Sept 08. Arshavin had to find a club that matched Spurs' accepted 20m bid or faceprospect of staying or joining Spurs.
Rumour going around Murray Park is that Rangers have been in for 2 signings, Robbie Fowler on a bosman to replace the out–going Kris Boyd.

Also if Barry Ferguson looks likley to leave then Walter smith has an interest in Nashat Akram, people will remember him as the Iraqi who was denied a work permit to play for Manchester City. .it is believed he could have that denial reviewed. Ferguson could go for anywhere in the region of 2–5 million, wheras Akram would only have a 1 million price tag.
Marcelo will be moving to liverpool for 7mil, maradona wants his key players of his argentinian team playing together week in week out, therefore will be pumping money into the club, to get tevez, ageuro and others. if insua can keep his place in the starting 11 of liverpool ahead of marcelo he will be in the starting 11 of argentina. liverpool will be bought by the end of january by a close friend of maradona this is why maradona has been spending lots of his time in england. and i apoligise my caps lock key does not work on my pda
Delighted Princip is signing for the 'Gers. He has a devastating shot.
  TOTTENHAM TRANSFER LATEST.
Newcastle Goalkeeper Shay Given is set to move to Tottenham Hotspur before the end of the transfer window also joining is Lucas Neill from West ham and the third player will be either Liverpool`s J.Pennant or Man City`s M. Johnson. LEAVING will be Jermaine Jenas rejoining Newcastle in January. These signings will guarantee Tottenham miss the relegation trap door and Redknapp will then sign Appiah until end of the season and two to three other signings. Woodgate or King will leave in the summer. My name is Dan and remember this news when it happens. I am a top football club insider.
Spurs will sign Arshavin for 20m
–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––hi, its me again from the FA Financial department, over the last few days their have been more requests to release funds may or may not happen etc:

Arsenal – 14 Million – Mattheui Valbuena
Chelsea – 16 Million, Ivanovic, Kalou, – Danny(Zenit)
Chelsea – Anelka swap deal with juventus for Trezeguet,
Liverpool – 10 Million – Chilleini – Juventus
Crystal Palace – 200k – Alan Gow – Rangers
Newcastle – 4 million – Erin drgyok

"Serbian Gavrilo Princip to sign for Rangers FC on loan this week"

Lol. I think they had him executed in 1914 when he assassinated Franz Ferdinand.

Anyway . .

Tony Mowbray is looking to strenghten his front line with Peguy Luyindula, Ariza Makukula and Leroy Lita all on the cards.

City will not sign Kaka. They may sign Scott Parker for a ridiculous £13 million fee (£100,000 a week!), but Bellamy will not leave until the summer.

Rafa has lost out on Glen Johnson and will pursuit him in the summer, however Gareth Bale is back on the radar. It is thought that Redknapp is frustrated with the wing–back and was going to offer him as part of the Downing deal. But, Benitez may bid upto £8 million for the Welshman and Dossena may return to Italy, initially on loan.

On the Downing front, Southgate has pleaded with the Borough man to play until the end of the season and then he will grant him his wish of a transfer in the summer. Any bids until the summer will be rejected.

No major signings for Man U and Chelsea. Arsenal will leave it pretty late but expect a central midfielder and a winger to join. These may be Wesley Sneijder (Madrid) and Kim Kallstrom (Lyon) each for £12 million. Don't hold your breath on Arshavin.

Jimmy Bullard may be tempted north to the Reebok stadium in a £5.5 million deal.

The Matador
  Arsenal INS
–A central defender MAY be signed, the lad from lazio's agent has came out and said that he will be staying at lazio. Wenger is now looking towards Jose Martin Caceres even though he only sign for barcelona in the summer very unlikely. A more likely target is van Buyten of Bayern Munich or even the vastly expierenced Marchena of valencia.
–In midfield a replacement for fabregas will be signed and then the player signed will go out on the wing pushing walcott up front. Arshavin is stalling on his move to arsenal because arsenal haven't agreed a fee with zenit yet–gotta laugh at some people onn here! Wenger has made his last bid for arshavin, it is 12m upfron rising to 15m based on his sucsess at the emirates he has given zenit until friday to decide then he'll look towards Elano or Arteta is still possible because moyes if finding it hard to get players in on loan and has been told that former loanee manuel fernandes is available for 8m.
–Wenger's final swoop will be for a defensive midfielder, the argintean from boca or Yaya toure who wants to link up with brotgher kolo fee would be 8m for yaya as he's not interested in city. senna is a no he's 32 and villareal want 25million for him– man city take note!
Keith Fahey sat behind me at the Blues wolves game and i heard him say 'why did i sign for these'
so i wouldnt expect him to stay for long
  Birmingham City departures:
Radhi Jaidi, and Mehdi Nafti the two Tunisian's to leave also departing Garry McSheffery.
Birmingham City arrivals:
Jermaine Beckford, Lee Croft, Sean St. Ledger and Matthew Mills.
These are just the ones I've heard about as McLeish plans to clear out all the old Bruce signings. If these players left only: Stephen Kelly, Stuart Parnaby, Franck Quedrue, Cameron Jerome, Damien Johnson, Sebastien Larsson and Martin Taylor will be left the guy deserves credit he's only been with us for a year.
PS: Larsson will move if £5m is offered as he's been poor.
With Inter and Man City now reportedly interested in Arshavin, expect Arsene Wenger to try and complete Arshavin's move to Arsenal as quickly as possible. The only thing currently holding up the move is Zenit's ridiculous asking price of 20–23 mil, whereas Arsenal are only prepared to pay around 12–17 mil on the Russian. However Arsenal are the club Arshavin wants, he is apparently in his words 'desparate' to sign for Arsenal and is even talking about which shirt number he will be wearing. Arshavin would easily choose Arsenal over Inter and City, as he wants to move to the premier league, ruling out Inter, and he would obviously choose a Champions League side over a UEFA Cup side. The only way Arshavin would move to any club other than Arsenal is if Wenger decides he is not worth the price – which hopefully he won't.

Some news from the ever–exciting League 1:
Carlisle: New striker? Well, it looks like being two new strikers, with the sudden interest in Danny Graham. A grand return for Micheal Bridges must surely be on the cards, if they can handle the wages. If Dean Windass can't get a game at Hull, what chance has old Bridgey got eh.
Crewe: Micheal O'connor? Certainly talented, and from what I'm hearing, there is more interest in this guy than would appear. Useful player in a pinch, and several big lge 1/champ. sides said to be keeping an eye on this chaps situation. I think this is hard on Crewe; especially with the emphasis on Fabian Delph and Joe Mattock in the tabloids. There is a quirky academy down the road at Gresty too.
Hartlepool: Micheal Nelson? Another Micheal, this ones well on par at the moment too, especially after the FA cup win. However, the interest is only coming from League 1, from where the money is, I'm afraid. Leeds and Peterborough
Leeds: Grayson gone mad? Well yes. . Why on earth has Ken Bates appointed a manager who is signing players on loan. My prejudices against the loan market are previously unchallenged, but this is taking the biscuit. Targets for the backline (obviously), apart from Nelson, Jason Shackell and, to my horror, Claude Davis. Sit tight Leeds fans, could be a good few years yet.
Leicester: Signings? Ah, I've been looking forward to this. I notice we have a lot of big–talking crisp–factory–workers talking up Leiceter's transfer dealings. But I'm afraid its starting to get silly now. Jermaine Beckford? Are we talking about the same Jermaine Beckford? And to the joker who quoted £800,000. . its not even worth commenting. Sometimes the ignorance of some people amazes me, how they think their club will sign all the best players at a minimal value. Alright, Man City fans I'll make one concession! But surely the point of a rumour is that its within the bounds of possibility. Who's next to the Walkers, I wonder? Y'know, I heard Kaka is turning down Man City for em. Should be a good buy. . And as for the elusive Mr. Beckford, should he recover properly from a hamstring complaint, should be moving in the summer, to Wolves, for a fee nearer 2.5mil.
Northampton: Adebayo Akinfenwa? And not only him, Danny Jackman. Some clubs are finally starting to sit up and take notice of the talent coming out of this academy, saving Akinfenwa, who of course didnt. The point is, he's scoring. It started with Bradley Johnson, and now there is a fresh crop of talent from this source.
And finally dear old Scunny: Gary Hooper? He may only have joined Nigel Adkins' side last summer, but he's bagged a hatful in very impressive fashion. Like with Akinfenwa, there are lots of clubs, mainly in the Championship, simply looking for someone who will bag them goals should they buy them (yes, norwich, buy. I understand the concept is unfamiliar). Could be destined for bigger things? Maybe, but I predict a new contract at Scunthorpe. For now.
Sorry about the rant, bad day at work, Malcolm Shaffer
Thank god Norwich City grew some balls and sacked hopeless Roeder.

So who is next for the Canaries?

Well, believe me or not, I have been informed by 3 reliable sources that Aidy Boothroyd has been spotted in Norwich, near Carrow Road.

This is the sort of manager we need who is proven at this level and can make Norwich City a successful club again after 4 poor seasons.

Now the useless muppet Roeder has been sacked expect Sir Darren Huckerby to buy out his contract at San Jose to move back to the club he loves, it was well publicied that Roeder didnt like him now he's gone Hucks will come back
Arshavin will have his medical in london on wednseday AW will then concentrate on bringing in a defender before the end of transfer window no defensive midfielder will be signed as AW has faith in Denilson who by next year will be top notch

do you honestly believe any team are going to buy 10 payers and sell 9.
that like chaning a wole team, look at the history and you will find no one has even been close to this. espcially with the current mony problems around.#

on to my rumours
arsenal will probably get ashavin, and probably a defender, i hear micah richards want to leave city, so that would be nice,
just rumours, no evidence and micah probably won't leave city.

gunner. .(:
To the Sheff Utd Fan. . Michael Johnson would not go to Sheff Utd for £2– £4 million as Premiership clubs have also been after him for in excess of £7 million. He isn't left out either he has a long term injury and is on his way back to fitness. .as is Martin Petrov who a lot of other posters seem to think is also 'out of form' he was on fire at the start of the season.
MCFC
Saudis wouldnt let something as insignificant as an alcohol sponsorship stop them from buying something – half of them own significant shares in companies who have alcohol as a part of the business. The royal family is huge and there is more than likely 1000 of them rich enough to buy a premiership club and there is as many non–royal family billionaires as there is royal ones.

Anyways – rumours are growing that a high ranking family (not the Maktoums) in Dubai are looking at making a bid for either Everton / Liverpool / Newcastle. They will use which ever club as a mass marketing tool for their business group. Liverpool the least likely as they don't want any friction with the royal family.

Barry Ferguson to be sold off by Rangers – Waldo and Coisty annoyed about his attitude in the dressing room, where he thinks he rules the roost. Boyd sale is supposedly a smoke screen to get Barry out the door
Kaka will sign for man city in the next 48 hours, garry cook is in milan negotiating a deal with milan and is basically telling milan and kaka to both name their price. this is purely a publicity stunt to attract the big names to eastlands in the summer.
I love the way Celtic fans know all about Rangers' financial situation and who we're signing. go away and play wi yer beeds. . anyway
Rangers will sell 1 top team player for sure and maybe another 1 or 2 if silly bids come in. .Bougherra will stay as we don't have cover.
McGregor could go along with Ferguson and Boyd as cover is there for all 3 positions and apart from Boyd, better than the afore mentioned.
If only 1 leaves then no–one will be brought in but if more are sold then we'll go for a centre half and right back.
McCulloch and Adam look Championship bound with Ipswich and Forest looking to sign.Burke has gone to Cardiff.Dailly could be off to Forest too.Hemdani being touted to French first division clubs.
That is the facts not fantasy football
Leicester City youngsters, Daniel Harby and Michael Cornish are set to move to Derby in a deal which is beleived to be around £2 Million.
I work at london city airport and ive recently seen didier drogba traveling out to manchester with first team coach of man city Eddie Niedzwiecki.
also ive heard a rumour that charlton are looking into the irish leagues for talent and one youngster that's stood out has been mason goodwin, who has just recovered from a back injury but is believed to have the talent for the english championship.
also don't know how true this is but dean ades who plays in the arsenal youth is on his way to tottenham where he is expected to break into the first team quicker than arsenal. apparently he has always supported spurs and is looking forward to get his chance to shine.
celtic to make 2 massive loan signings due to the massive spending at big clubs.

4 in a row!!!!
  MASSIVE RED NEWS

Don't you think how strange and how out of character it was for Rafa'a rant? Then just as it is dying down he has another little pop at Mr Gill. Then that is just fading and then they anoounce he's close to signing a new deal(why is anyone interested until he has signed).

This is all very clever smoke and mirror tactics to divert everyone from the VERY BIG NEWS. Liverpool are in the process of a big takeover and massive new signing, but are playing these silly Rafa games to keep everyones attention preoccupied. Very close to being a done deal and very exciting for all you super reds!!!!

Remember you heard it here first.
Spy in the red house!
Will people stope going on about man utd gett x amount for tevez. . he is on loan utd will get nothing. arshavin to sign for the gooners along with a brazialian called bastilia (spelling) and seb frey
  ((( AFC Bulletin )))

Its been known INTER could hijack AFC bid 4 Andrei Arshavin .Possable offer by INTER 2 AW 4 Eboue , BORO 2 cash on in some of its players including defender Wheater , AW is interested and might give an offer 4 him . Possable player swap deal with AC MILAN player Pato moving 2 AFC whilst Adebayor moves the other way 2 AC MILAN .Expect Bentley 2 leave SPURS , its been heard AW is interested but only in a player swap deal if the deal ever went thru .
Kaka to City by the end of the window for around 50–60m he will earn 150k a week
The whole kaka to man city is almost done deal but won't be published till ealry next week but from agent networks they deal is around world transfer breaking deal of £88million and a contract of a massives 244k week to be at the city of manchester also i belive that acconmerdation for kaka and his family is also in the deal to take him from milan to city. also almost garanted is this won't be the only big transfer for man city! but don't expect this to b the only big deal man city to pull as they are in line top make a make 1 last huge transfer deal don by the end of transfer window and expect it to be a huge striker from spain! round 30–40million mark! you ont belive these rumours till you see kaka and ??? holdin up man city shirts next to mark hughts! also he has till the summer to turn things around!!
To the fan who said Villa were moving for Rafael Carioca and Guiza. .sorry mate no chance. Carioca has already signed a pre–contract agreement to join Spartak Moscow at the end of the season and Guiza stated publicly in the summer that he wanted to stay in Spain for the forseeable future. I can't see why his view would have changed so soon. To a real rumour. .Villa are on the lookout for a striker first and foremost, with the prefered option now that defoe has gone back to tottenham being either jovanovic of standard liege, crouch or out–of–favour van der vaart (not a striker but under O'Neill would play just behind front man in the old No. 10 role). Watch this space.
Barnsley assistant manager is expected to complete a deal for an unknown striker today as Simon Davey is currently scouting in spain. Two foreign trialists have faield to earn a contract at the well so will now have to move on, Also Simon Davey is still intrested in bringing in PNE winger Simon Whaley.
To the guy that said: Joe Mattock is off to Wolves for 1.5 million + Mark Davies"

Never going to happen; Davies is highly regarded and is only at Leicester to regain match fitness. Wolves have 4 left backs. .Matt Hill, Stephen Ward, George Elokobi, and George Friend why would we want another one?

PS: everyone else its Michael Kightly not Michael Knightly as loads of people keep typing on here (and by the way. .he isn't going anywhere either)

Burnley are apparantly close to sealing a deal for england ledgand robbie fowler on a pay as you play, part time coaching role as burnley manager owen coyle beleives he needs more footballing experience into his relitively inadequate coaching staff.
I work at Burnley Football Club and have just seen Darius Vassell enter the main building, It has been said that Owen Coyle would like to bolster his attacking options and believes Darius is the man to do this as he has found him self dropping down the pecking order at Manchester City.
If this deal is to go through it his rumoured the fee will be around 500k.
To the guy who laughed at my claim that glen johnson had a 10m release clause in his contract, i am sorry but it was actually a 10m MINIMUM release clause. And also my source is the daily telegraph and they actually published an article about this story on Saturday.

Lorik Cana will fill the defensive void at arsenal, I know this because my brother is a taxi driver in Islington, and took him to the emirates! He mentioned that Wenger was giving him a tour of the stadium!
I was the person who has the glen johnson release clause rumour. Do you read the papers? Most clearly state that he has agreed to stay at pompey for the remainder of the season so tnat u lot get your money back for him. Also since when is manny fernandes worth 6mil. When our neighbours tried to buy him they demanded 12mil and that when was he was a bench warmer. I have watched la liga several times this season and he is on the form of his life, if carrick and hargreaves are worth 18mil a piece you are way off with your valuation.
