Watford fans can breathe (almost) a sigh of relief as your greatest fan, Sir Elton John, has agreed in principle to fund the club until next summer.
However, the deal depends upon Graham Taylor staying on at the club and Graham Simpson selling his stake in the club.
Sir Elton does not want to rejoin the board, but he does want the club passed on to, and I quote 'somebody with an IQ of more than 1' who is prepared to invest in the club and at least part–fund a move to a new stadium in five years, as Vicarage Road is getting old and a new stadium near the M1 will benefit both Watford FC and Saracens RFC long term.

Mark my words Forest fans, Billy Davies will not unsettle the team spirit in January just make a couple of strong team orientated signings. First priority is securing Shorey on a permanent deal, next will be a move for a centre half with height, McCarthy at Palace, Cort, Zat Night are all targets. Forget fanciful talk of Dawson. Earnshaw will move on but Leon Best arrive in his place or if not then Tommy Smith will be rescued from Pompey.
Billy is also keen on Brian Stock to add goals and guile in midfield with Danny Pugh adding left sided cover and experience.Jonjo Shelvey will be added to provide midfield cover and is one for the future.Billy believes that this squad with a few tweaks can make promotion. I posted the Cuellar to Real Madrid on this site last year before he left Rangers. This is not a rumour, I heard this from Cuellar himself as a spanish group of business men were purchasing him for Real. When Rangers went out to Kaunus he was rushed to Birmingham in the back of a Ranger Rover to sign for Villa as Rangers wanted a quick sale at Cuellars request.
After Reading your post I have just checked with the guy who introduced me to Cuellar and apparantly this deal is still interesting Cuellar and Real. Believe or don't believe this but this information is not second hand but straight from the source.

Time for some sense about Forest. Billy Davies is after experience and height in the centre of defence. He is looking at Martin Taylor from Birmingham, Russell Anderson from Sunderland as experience cover for the short term and more promisingly Curtis Davies, Zat Knight, ONUOHA from Man City on loan.
In midfield he has plenty of flair but needs experience and grit. Lee Carsley may suprise a few as well as Jason Koumas both names who interest him.He may make a bold move for David Bentley on loan but more likely George Boyd from Peterborough.Guiness

Just to quell the LFC rumor that eljero elia is on his way to anfield. as long as Rafa is calling the shots he doesn't fit into the scheme at LFC. also why would he want to move to LFC to play some of the time with a team in the same european competition as his current club and a worse league position than HSV, he would no longer be eligible to play in europa league if he moves. HSV just got him and with long term injuries to many of their creative players they will not be selling him till at least the summer as he is far too valuable to the league campaign (4 pts out in 5th) and too the europa league final which the team would absolutely love to be in as it is being played in hamburg. As for Van der Vaart his days in spain are numbered and all indications say england. he could fill the CF role at arsenal or play the same role or out wide for liverpool to either spell gerrard or as support to the torres/gerrard system. favor a move to arsenal as he fits much more the style they play.
Because of Robbie Savages (45) influence at the BBC and the recent signing of Paul Dickov (37) and DJ Campbell (30) Leicester old boy Steve Claridge (43) is due to join Derby as a striking coach in preparation for a possible management return at a league club in the future.
Nigel Clough (43) is apparently keen on this as it moves his back room staff away from the Rams fierce local rivals Nottingham Forest who other than Clough also have Gary Crosby (45) and Johnny Metgod (51).

Notts County owner peter trembling has found finence for the club but its limited and although it will keep the club afloat they will have limited money in the transfer market

After Chris Coleman revived his interest in Lewis McGugan, it seems it might actually be Forest who get their man. A deal involving McGugan and £500K in exchange for Leon Best, out of contract in the summer, now seems likely to go through smoothly. McGugan wants first team football and Best wants to be in a side challenging for promotion to improve his chances of breaking into the republic of ireland first team. This one's likely to be less of a bitter pill for Notts fans however, as without the boy wonders' goals we look like relegation fodder to me and I can't see a 21 yr old midfielder being the answer to all our problems.

Fellow arsenal fans appear to be getting carried away with the idea of a very busy january. this will not be the case. arsene knows how destabilising an influx of numerous players in the middle of a season can be. expect no more than 3 signings in january. these will be one CF and a choice between a CB and a DCM, maybe both.
Striker: Adriano has been refered to numerous times, but i think this is unlikely. Wenger needs some1 who is sure to do a job for us in the absense of RVP. More likely are players such as Gignac or Balotelli. He will not go for Chamakh now, instead, if he still wants him, will tie him to a pre–contract agreement for the summer.
CB: Sakho and Subotic appear to be every1's first choice, including mine. my guess is we sign one in jan (subotic) and the other in summer.
OR DCM: Matuidi has been linked to us, by i see this as doubtful, although St Ettiene are struggling. one of the 3 west ham DCMs, Noble, Parker or Behrami are options. remember, we are looking for cover for song, not some1 to completely replace him long term.
Senderos will leave in jan, Silvestre will not leave till summer, as he is vital cover given our injured LBs.
Summer: Sakho will arrive with Hazard. There may be goal keeping changes if Almunia does not get back to his best. Rob Green or Manuel Neuer favourties. Silvestre will leave.
Traore, Denilson, Eboue and Vela will all stay, though traore and vela may go out on loan. rosicky is signing a new contract, gallas will not follow suit. vdv is a possibility, but would have to be in jan, not summer.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has had enough of Ryan Babels crying and wants him out of Liverpool, hence why he wasnt in the matchday squad against Arsenal. Juventus, Villarreal, Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen will all battle it out to sign him in January. Favourites are Wolfsburg as they are willing to offer 10m for Babel, much higher than Rafa's evaluation of 7m. Andrea Dossena is also on the out as he is not improving and is home sick. He wants to move to a top four club and Roma are willing to sign him for 4m. Milan are also interested but they want him in a loan deal. Napoli are NOT interested, contrary to reports and statements made by Dossena's agent. Andriy Voronin is not happy with the role he has at Liverpool and wants to move back to Germany with Hannover, Hoffenheim, Nuremberg and Hamburg all interested. Favourite club unknown but the fee is likely to be around 3m.
Rafa will also have another 12m to spend in January so the sales will give him a total of 30m to spend. He wants to wrap up Goran Pandev for 3m by January 5 as there is high interest in the Macedonian striker. Rafa also wants to sign an English centre back, and with Matthew Upson the only quality defender available, Rafa wants to offer 5m to test West Ham's resovle. Rafa wants to add some creativity to his midfield as he cannot always rely on Benayoun to provide this, in case he gets injured. Ivan Rakitic will be transfer listed in Jabuary as Schalke do not need him. Rafa has identified him as his primary target and is willing to bid 10m, but shoud this fail, he is also watching Mesut Ozil and Arda Turan, both valued at 10m. The final 12m will be spent on a left winger with Eljero Elia the top of the list.
