Fabian Delpgh joining Leeds on loan for rest of season(10)(21)Good i hope Leeds buy him, gets totally over powered week in week outNo he does not, he is playing with useless lumps like Dunne, Hutton etc. Delph will become a top prem player.Hes a good player not good enough for the squadHe's shown glimpses of quality but I think that dm is not his best role. If he was given a license to attack more I think we would see a different side to his game and maybe a big improvement in his contributionIm a villa fan and still waiting for this guy to show me the kind of form he did at leeds he seems to have changed his game from a very skillfull attacking player to a difencesive midfielder which is very confusing. You payed 6 mill rising to 8 mill then your club don't play him in position that impressed villa enough to nip in I front of man city to buy him.

Southampton Transfer Rumours:
First of all I am fed up with how our club and fans are being viewed at the moment by other people who use this site. We don't think we are going to sign everybody and if there is someone that has put a rumour up that does seem unlikely then it is probably not a Southampton fan.

In:
Tadanari Lee > Secured his Work Permit on Wednesday after it was agreed that he was a brilliant talent that would improve English Football. I don't know if he was in Japan or not but I suppose he is finalising his move at the moment.

Gary Hooper (Celtic) > As much as I would love to see him sign I don't think that the rumour is true, I can not see him leaving Celtic as they are one of the two big clubs in Scotland.

Kris Commons (Celtic) > Again a very good player which would be amazing for us but with his current injury I can't see why we would go for him. I am sure he wouldn't sign for us.

Lukas Jutkiewicz (Coventry) > I think he was a realistic target for this window but seems he is off to Middlesbrough which is a real shame. I said at the begining of the season that he would have been a great signing but I cannot see him joining now.

Jordan Rhodes (Huddersfield) > No chance of him joining us, Huddersfield have said that no bids are welcome by ANY club. He would probably move to a Premier League team if anything.

Billy Sharp (Doncaster), Nicky Maynard (Bristol City) & Albert Adomah (Bristol City) We had a bid accepted for Sharp back in July which was supposed to be 3-3.25Million pounds but talks broke down over after he was not prepared to move futher down south. We have no interest in Maynard & Adomah I believe.

Besides that I can't think of any names mentioned, expect names that we have never heard of.

Out:

Jason Puncheon > Linked with Blackpool I believe in which they made a bid around £750,000 which was rejected by Southampton as they want £1,000,000. I would have accepted that.

Jonathon Forte > Heard that he has been linked with a move to Walsall, I don't know if there is any truth behind this though.

Lee Homles > Haven't heard any clubs that are intersted but will probably go out on loan like Dickson this window.

I hope this clears up some of the agressive banter to stop as it is damaging the reputation of the Club and it's fans. Thankyou.(12)(12)

Thank goodness a southampton fan who is talking sense.

i applaud your sincerity and sensible approachTotally with you there. I'm getting fed up of the negative press we're receiving. It's only happening because everyone needs someone to shoot down because of their wealth. It happened with Leicester pre-season. It's our turn now, we just have to stay in the promotion places until the end of the season.Which you won'tIm liking your honesty with what your saying but ive said it before where do you think your getting all this cash from?
As a club you are not wealthy!
Your previous owner was/your new owners family are but as a club you dont have that much cash.
No you don't have the ox's cash as this is paid in stages plus add on's (similar to the walcott deal).
lee plus some other small signings will be your all!

tommoVery well said! but as mentioned above, its not the wealth that is damaging the reputation of your club. its the arrogant opinions of some fans that keep surfacing on websites. shame really, as you would think that a club that has come through the mire of administration and back would be a bit more humble in their new found success. but hopefully its just the minorityAdkins has said that no bids have been received for Puncheon. Holloway has accepted that neither we or the player want another loan. Adkins very recently spoke of a major signing being likely.Unfortunately some people cannot be sensible or polite and post nonsense on sites such as this. I do have some inside info via a first team squad player and NO signings are close alhough it is common knowledge that the club are trying to strenghten in 2 positions.Kris Commons is not injured, Neil Lennon has just fell out with Commons because he has become a fat BD and has not been able to shift the weightI didn't realise your club had a reputation to damageGood post here - and im a pompey fan!!
Some people dont seem to realise this is a RUMOURS site so if Saints fans or Pompey fans want to post rumours why is there a problem?
If you dont like it the dont read it - not complicated.

Ipswich are in talks with a centre back according to press. Is it true 3 players have been at Ipswich to day in talks if so who ?(3)(9)Dean Leacock from derby countyjJewell himself said on radio 3 bids have been made .

13 Jan 2012 22:51:50
Unfortunately it sounds like a deal has been done for Ritchie subject to contract negotiations although figures are being undisclosed, Jayden Stockley and Lyle Taylor could be joining on loan for rest of season as part of the deal. Announcement expected to be made early next week(12)(5)Give it a rest will you, its ridiculous beyond belief now, I know him and he isnt going to bournemouth, he may move yet as two championship clubs, Burnley and Ipswich are after him, but he aint going to bournemouthRitchie was bombed out of Portsmouth a year ago and they are a struggling championship side desperate for players so burnley are NOT going to sign him or any other championship side for that matter! Certainly not for what bournemouth are offering so Please think before you make ridiculous statementsBournemouths Marc Pugh is coming to Burnley so that's a lie! We would not gamble on a league 2 player and Howe signed Pugh for Bournemouth and we have had good dealings with the club Before. It sounds likely Ritchie could replace Pugh though. Try reading other sites instead of getting on your high horseWho the f are these people ?What is wrong with Swindon fans? Wake up and smell the coffee cos you are a bottom division team. The war is over and hoddle has gone

13 Jan 2012 22:23:27
Marvin Sordell to QPR with Helgusin, Smith plus cash going the other way. Good deal for both parties I'd say.(5)(20)

LIVERPOOL
TOTTNHAM
CHELSEA FACT!(20)(30)Liverpool or Newcastle in the summer if he moves at all. Read his interview with his agentArnt newcastle intrested 2Newcastle are wanting him 2Newcastle cant compete with any of those clubs in the transfer market, well may be liverpool

13 Jan 2012 21:25:26
Rumours in Liverpool pubs are saying Dempsey defo to everton with Cahill moving to qpr(13)(34)More chance of Cahill getting the ferry cross the Mersey than joining QPR.Sure its a wind up but would love CahillI pray this is true

The ShadowDempsey stays. Only CL football, with serious chance of quarters/semis+ would tempt him.Rumours in SOME Liverpool pubs are saying LFC can make top 4 - so take a pinch of salt.Rumours in pubs in essex say football fans around the UK are becoming deluded and are just making up whatever they like and telling of it as the truth...All the Everton fans seem to think Cahill is going to Stoke!!

13 Jan 2012 21:21:24
Southampton will not announce any signings before the Forest match this weekend. However, before Leicester Gary Hooper and Tadanari Lee will sign. Southampton are also interested in a winger and a centre back, but they will look outside the Championship as they feel the players are overrated and overpriced there. No youth players will be leaving as they are the future of the premier league at Southampton and Jason Puncheon will be shipped off as soon as a club makes a bid, which none have yet(20)(21)Blackpool have had a £650,000 bid for Puncheon already turned down.Adkins has said that no bids have been received for Puncheon. Holloway has accepted that he is unavailable on loan following their enquiry.Gary hooper wont leave for the championship wen ther is interest from EPL,,,,and use might have money but celtic dont nd 2 and dont want 2 sell and hooper loves the club so use have no chance

13 Jan 2012 21:13:41
Lita to leave Swansea(10)(14)Hope he comes to barnsley fc

13 Jan 2012 21:05:57
Out of favour Rangers winger, Gregg Wylde, is set to sign for watford on loan for the rest of the season.

McCoist is keen for Wylde to get some first team games under his belt, to challenge for the first team next season.

Wages

I wish, touch like an elephant

Wouldnt say out of favour, rangers are short in every position

Mervan Celik is set to join Rangers any day now, and with 2 left wingers ahead of Wylde, and Rangers needing to cut their wage bill, this looks definately viable.(8)(5)

13 Jan 2012 21:05:50
Newcastle set to complete a deal for montpellier cb yanga mbiwa for 6.8 million. He will undergo a medical before signing a 5 year deal

Newcastle have also returned to bid 7 million for psg striker mevlut erding, after failing in the summer newcastle can now offer erding first team football after he fell down the pecking order at psg this season(17)(12)Doubt we'd offer £7million for Erdinc when he's allowed to leave for between 5 and 6million.. also we wont pay 6.8million for a defender who wont get his gameHe will get his games hes better than williamson

13 Jan 2012 21:04:37
Anyone know what's the latest on Aaron Mclean?(0)(8)Barmby said today that nobody has approached hull city about aaron mclean and that he,s signed as full time manager with the promise none of the team are sold including cameron stewartHe's staying with Barmby Army

13 Jan 2012 20:59:21
Just heard Dempsey could be heading to everton for 6 million(13)(29)Everton through and through..... this deal would be amazingAnd makepiece to followGet real!
everton dont have £600 quid never mind 6 mill they are skint!
any signings will be loanee'or bosman's.keep sniffin that glue kid.Ed - is this you posting wishful thinking again ? :) {Ed001's Note - I think 025 might be posting from the pub after a few bevvies.....}Everton simply so not have that kind of money to spend anymore sorryIm a toon fan, but as much as i would love for Moyes to have some money to spend and to make they beloved fans happy i just dont see where Everton would get £6million for one player from maybe £6million and buy a couple of good players to add to depth.. unless he's got a few more loans lined up a jst dont see it as a possibilityMust be some one on way out, especially with Gibson signing for £2.5million. unless they're using January Sky TV moneyAdd ten million and maybe

13 Jan 2012 20:56:24
The Barnsley manager Hill will take over at Bolton in this transfer window you just watch.
Fergul.(13)(17)How good is your source?

13 Jan 2012 20:54:04
Swindon are set to make a bid for Oxford United's Peter Leven after it was leaked that he has a clause in his contract which will allow a club to buy him 100k.

Also Swindon will carry on their pursuit of Cody McDonald as the Coventry striker has struggled to settle in at the club. Most likely a loan deal with a clause in the deal if they want to sign him on a permanent deal.(12)(5)Cody McDonald is better off at CCFC not at a league 2 club, if he wants to succeed / progress in footballCody was our first choice in the summer but he didn't want to drop down to league2 cant see him doing it now eitherGet real people Cody is not going to drop to league 2! Stay off the drugsYou mean a L2 team that will soon be in L1 and maybe championship the year after.Considering McDonald started at non league level, spent last season in L2, and isnt setting the Championship on fire...I wouldnt be surprised to see him drop down a tier or two

13 Jan 2012 20:33:29
Boltons Kevin Davies in talks with W.B.A(9)(27)When he (davies) wants to move to wolves

13 Jan 2012 20:31:00
Hi from Scotland.....rumour here is that Gary O'Connor will be joining you next week, McPake will be going the other way.
You'll know him from a couple of years ago from his B'ham days, but he's picked up a bit of baggage from then. Fraud charge pending, and a drug charge also pending......plus the small matter of a broken toe, which may just be a smokescreen to keep him out of the front line!(1)(13)

13 Jan 2012 20:22:58
Craig Ried despite being out until Feb is set to leave now that Westley and backroom staff have left to go PNE.(5)(3)

13 Jan 2012 20:22:51
Un-named source at Swindon Advertiser has reported that a fee of £620k has been agreed with Bournemouth for Swindon's Matt Ritchie. The deal is expected to be rubber-stamped next week, in time for Bournemouth's home match against Tranmere. This will enable Swindon to re-ignite their interest in Gillingham's Luke Rooney.(7)(16)I sincerely hope not! Ritchie is not worth that amount and I can't even see him making the first team! Bradbury is going to p#ss this cash against the wall, I wish he would listen to the fansMate, sorry but if you saw ritchie week in week out you would realise he is worth a lot more than that and you would be getting a bargainCan't agree that a tier 4 player is worth more than £500k, maybe the potential is there but as yet unproven at a higher level.

13 Jan 2012 20:22:43
the mirror is reporting that the cahill deal is finally done and is heading south tonight for his medical.(24)(5)About time

13 Jan 2012 20:16:30
chelsea to sign edin hazzard for 25 million off lile(13)(43)Lille would want at least £50million for himDid you mean the dukes of hazard?Hahhha said he would only leave for madrid or arsenal so basically because of his price tag it will be madrid

13 Jan 2012 20:11:22
Carlisle expected to make 50k bid for Swindons former celtic defender Paul Caddis next week(5)(13)Absoluely laughable. do you know anything about Caddis 50kAdd at least 600k onto that and Paolo will at least reply with a laugh any less than that and he wont even reply LOLWhat a joke, is that for his spare boots...

13 Jan 2012 20:06:41
Bolton to bid for unsettled leicester striker Beckford And Cardiff considering to bid for andy king of Leicester(8)(16)Where bolton getting 8 mill fromHe worth 8 mill? He's worth 8 mill? :/ from sales. Cahill for oneThey can bid but he cannot play as played for 2 clubs already this season everton he made 2 appearances and then for leicester so it'd be pointless plus compete waste of money too!Would love andy king to comeAndy king just signed new three year deal i'd say thats a fair price judging by other crap being spouted ie hooper worth 8, 10, 12mill depending on who you believe and jelavic 8 mill. At least 3 mill for beckford we paid 2.5mill 6 months ago seems fair to me he's also got two years of contract leftMoney Bolton got for Cahill is eaten up by their debt ant they will find it hard to bring in a player that is proven at prem level as their prem status is hanging by a thread.

13 Jan 2012 20:04:33
john sutton to return to motherwell from hearts on loan deal(7)(8)Motherwell already have one tall, slow, lazy forward in Michael Higdon dont need another one!

13 Jan 2012 20:00:59
Richard Lambert to Fulham 4.5m(5)(21)That much! ooohWOW Fulham they play the most boring football in the english league, if andy carroll is worth £35 million then Rickie would be at least £20 millionDream on lambert would not go a team like fulham he loves the south we get bigger crowds plays in a better stadium money to spend and southampton are on the upFulham are defo not the most boring team in English football. Stupid comment and im not a fulham fan. 4.5 is about the money aswell for his age and experienceDream on lambert would not go a team like fulham he loves the south we get bigger crowds plays in a better stadium money to spend and southampton are on the up.

London is still the south, fulham area is still quite exclusive and certainly better than southampton, its also not to far to commute. I also think you will find fulham have money to spend as well. Why do so many southampton fans think their club is that great that nobody would ever want to leave.Southampton fans dont venture outside their own town as people laugh and point at them, thats why they dont know what goes on in the real world and they stay inside their bubble.

13 Jan 2012 19:45:58
Burnley to re-sign Sam Vokes on Loan until end of season(5)(13)Reliable source at CCFC have confirmed Sam Vokes may sign on loan as they have previoulsy been linked with the player and that the player is similar to Lucas Jutkiewicz who is on his way to Middlesbrough.

mick mccarthy made a 3.5m bid 4 craig gardiner(12)(23)No good , Sunderland want the full 4.7 million they paid for him. They would never sell him now!No way we paid 5m for him and hes enjoying it nowWe paid 6m for him and O'neill has said that he is stayingMad Mick has no dosh to spend - whoops bin for players

13 Jan 2012 18:12:28
Southampton considering a 6mil bid for hopper
Source - daily mirror(23)(26)This hopper best be good if he's worth 6 million...Who is this hopper a relative of skippy the bush kangarooDennis hopper (deceased), great actor, well worth 6m alive, not so sure about now:SIt's Hooper and he palys with Celtic and more to the point he's not going anywhereI wish there was a like button..lolThanks i liked the skippy line and Dennis is a class addition - you would have thought that if people were going to make up a load of garbage - they would at least get the spelling rightSo he is going to trade his bentley in and drive a Tata Gurka. More deluded saints ramblings. If and when he leaves the hoops, it will be for a step up, not a fall down the stairs!

13 Jan 2012 18:10:36
I stated well before anyone else about the money Southampton would be willing to go for Hooper ...6 million was not expected to be accepted and sources from inside Southampton think atleast 2 more bids will be needed to get their man. Celtic are lapping this up secretly and know Cortese has plenty more to offer...danger is if Celtic call their bluff too far Southampton likely to buy Billy Sharp for 3 million.
Expect a piece in the Scottish press tomorrow from Lennon re-iterating a no sale policy.
All part of the game to keep fans happy and also to tempt much higher bid from Cortese.
A.R.T(19)(12)Hooper is average worth 1million at most kept out by Sampras says it allSampras, never the same when he stopped playing at WimbledonHooper wont be sold - end of, the 6m bid is paper talk theres been an enquiry but no bid, move onWhy would you pay 3 mill for sharp when his buy out clause is 1.85 mill, do your homework, besides that he doesn't want to move to far away from south yorkshire which makes Leicester his prefered destinationKept out by a retired tennis player yeah ? wow .....Hooper is Lennon's first choice striker also the fans favorite and also the top shirt seller in Scotland...didnt play last game cos of groin niggle
A.R.TYovu certainly don't follow the Celtic then if you rate sammy above hooper,
hoops is a predator and will score in any league, finished top scorer in the championship the same yr Carroll went to Liverpool for 35m.
Hooper scored now in Europe and heading for leagues top scorer this seasonHe aint kept out by samaras . he is a starter week in week out mate . samaras plays on the wing these days with stokes and hooper thru the middle .
get facts right before posting your dribble

daviebhoy08Just because someone has a buyout clause of say 1.85 does not mean that's all they will go for especially when 4-5 teams all bidding for his services.
Hooper deal to be complete by next weds-thurs for fee of 7 million plus player. it amazes me the stuff you people can right on here .
.....A.R.TI reckon if i played in the comedy league of the spl i could become a top shirt sellerGary hooper will not be sold and if he is i should be shot at dawnShirt stealer maybe mate , shirt seller definately no

daviebhoy08No way hooiper would leave a top club like celtic to join a team like southhamptom !!Top shirt seller my a..Top club like celtic? good oneTop club like sthampton ??? dont think so

13 Jan 2012 18:01:37
wolves to put in a 4million bid for birminghams star defender liam Ridgewell expected to be training by next thursday(18)(16)Didn't he limp off injured against Wolves in the FA cup match ?Star defender? Are you having a laugh! Ridgewell is an average player at best......he has struggled to get into the Blues team this year...So you're saying we'l pay more for Ridgewell than Johnson? atleast make this beleivable

13 Jan 2012 17:51:37
Can't believe the rubbish some people dream up. Cody McDonald is going nowhere. AT is bringing in another striker and a left back following the signing of Nimely and the departure of Jutkiewicz. Roy O'Donovan may go out on loan in a bid to get match-fit, and there's a lot of work going on to help Freddie Eastwood find a new club.(13)(2)

13 Jan 2012 17:38:01

if billy is signing for Leicester why as he not signed yet fulham want him(5)(6)He has he is going for medical soon...He has not even spoken to anybody at Leicester, waiting for a bigger club than Leicester is the reason, not every player will join a club for the most money ie beckford, nugent

13 Jan 2012 17:17:23
Bournemouth will NOT sign matt ritchie from swindo. they want too much money and bournemouth dont need him now malone has signed permentantly. please stop posting the rubbish rumours!(7)(5)Hear hearNobody wants Ritchie the facts are Bradbury made a couple of bids for him and Bournemouth fans are dead against it if you read previous posts properly!Anyway who wants to sign for a tinpot club like bournemouth.Ritchie didAnyway who wants to sign for a tinpot club like bournemouth.

13 Jan 2012 17:12:03
Peterborough to hand contracts to the following youth team players at the end of the season:

Peter Grant - Defence
Kgosi Nthle - Defence
Aaron Wickham - Midfield
Dan Lawlor - Midfield
Jacob Joyce - Forward
Jaanai Gordon-Hutton - Forward

Posh Chairman Darragh MacAnthony has said these kids are the future of the club and wants to raise them into future stars.

Next year Posh will also try and sign Josh King from Manchester Utd on loan to fill the gap potentially made by Paul Taylor leaving for a Premier League club, with Posh also trying to re-sign Paul Coutts from PNE to replace loanee Ryan Tunnicliffe. Posh also have a shortlist of people who they beleive can replace Ryan Bennett should he go.(3)(5)Coutts is not coming back to posh forget itWhy not? he's too good for another season in L1, besides pne need the cash.

13 Jan 2012 17:09:06
Expect some urgent dealings in the transfer market from Ipswich, for another CB now that Leicester have pulled Sean St Ledger out of the transfer market due to players on duty in the African Cup of nations(5)(7)

13 Jan 2012 17:04:21
Sean St Ledger has been recalled into the Leicester squad due to two centre backs playing in the African cup of Nations, which has left them weak at the back, so his move to Ipswich has been put on hold, with the chances of him not coming at all maybe until the summer

Sauce TWTD(6)(4)Why will he want to play in league 1 next year, have fun at hartlepool and bury

13 Jan 2012 16:59:52
Cardiff city interested in singing Simon cox on loan for rest of the season. Malky a big admirer of this guy. Who becomes increasingly frustrated of lack of opportunities despite a hat trick against the bluebirds(8)(10)Singing simon cox eh. could be good for moral

Crystal palace are getting frustrated with all the bids coming in for many of their players. Creating unrest in the team as they want them for semi final of carling cup(7)(10)

13 Jan 2012 16:36:50
The bunch of fools who are trying to disrespect the Coventry family's name are laughable, these are the facts according to a friend of Jo Elliot's !! Juke went because apart from keogh and christie he was the only player anyone came in for with a realistic bid! Fulham are after keogh and stoke are after christie...after everton have there cut we should come out with 1.4 mill not a bad bit of business for a bloke who could not get in are starting line up 8 months ago,,if what I'm told is true Oliver Norwood ,and may be dan Harding may come in,,but I believe thorn has said he's going to get at least 3 more loan signings in and I quote 1 of the people he is after is "8ft 6 and can catch pigeons" check the sky blue army web site if you don't believe me..(2)(8)I'm a Coventry fan and just to let you know Joe Elliott no longer has any role at the club and has been involved with Gary Hoffman. SISU wouldn't be telling him the details of a transfer. Sadly the Juke was our only source on goals and it's not good business as we look like we are already down. Play up City, get out SISUWhat coventry did to sunderland in 1976 is unforgiveble, delaying your kick off with bristol city and playing out the last 15 minutes so we would be relegated, well guess what? i hope you's go down to league 1 and never come back up, neverBitter much?

Leeds to sign one of Gael Bigirimana, Fabian Delph (loan) or Sammy Clingan(16)(19)Snodgrass going 2 Norwich seeing as Leeds are going knowhereYes, I would say one of these is likely, and we have been linked with all three recently. I hear Howson isn't too far away though, like Snodgrass, he is exceeding initial expectations in his recovery from the knee injury. We'll just have to hope that its Fabulous Delph.
wallyGael has just signed a new contract at Coventry, Delph isnt interested in coming back, Sammy will sign in the summer as he is injured at the moment.

13 Jan 2012 16:14:39
notts county sign luke freeman on a months emergency loan from forest(11)(7)It's Kieran Freeman and it's done and on the OSYes it's on this one - but his name is Keiran Freeman -a highly rated left back.He will get a great chance to show his skill at Notts and it's great Cotterill has arranged it.Expect Forest ins and outs now!!

Norwich City's Paul Lambert is starting to get very annoyed with Delia and the board over the lack of funds to spend.

Clubs are monitoring the situation very closely.

Sell before he buys is the policy in camp now it seems. Their is interest in hoolahan, pilkington and crofts.(11)(29)Delia is very wise, she wants to see if, and a big if you survive this season. The problem we have is withg wages not transfer fees. PL knows best!!Well this is a load of rubbish. As soon as it comes on SSN that Lambert cannot afford "reputable" players' wages, that suddenly means that he is getting frustrated with the board over lack of funds. Thus spake the Ipswich supporter! Absolute nonsense as usual. No-one will be sold unless it is for silly money and PL won't pay over the top for any player. He doesn't really need to buy at the moment in any event.PL doesnt pay silly money for any player... let me think... Carrol, Forlan, Djemba Djemba.. i can go on... Silly money is whats always spent! {Ed001's Note - PL is Paul Lambert! What has he got to do with those players??}Better to risk relegation than administration. Yes new players would be nice and would help the team, but ask Portsmouth fans if they would trade the one or two years success with big names for a sustainable club that didnt face going out of business. We may go down this year, we may not, but if we do we will still be around as a club to fight for promotion again. Sustainability and controlled growth is the real goal for small teams. By the way being a small team is nothing to be ashamed of, small clubs enjoy a closer connection with fans and the community and a real sense of achievement when they win something. The guy above! Bet you feel like a right person now!I'm sure 'PL' (which could be mistaken for 'Premier League,' although not for long, hurhur) does indeed know best.
After all, he signed that lovable jug-head Bradley Johnson, and Steve Morison, the peanut-headed striker who can't, well, strike. As far as I can see, the only worthwile signings Norwich made in the summer were Pilko, Naughton and possibly Benno, although as that signing involved tapping-up, I don't count it. Basically, PL just bought whoever was available. So he won't sign anyone this January. Simple. So all the Norwich fans may as well get lost, unless they want to do some Ipswich bant.
wallyAnd what planet are you from?Yes, I had heard thatYeah same, not sure what planet the guy above is on, Johnson (talk with England squad in papers after such a great start to his career with us) and Morrison, Lamberts best signing probably with what he gets out of him week in week out!I fail to see how being our joint top scorer this season, makes Morison such a bad player???Why raise to wally's bait, he obviously knows little about football and even less about Norwich, the rumour about Lambert getting frustrated with Norwich board is absolute garbage as well, frustrated yes ! that he cannot get players in at a sensible wage package in line with current squad wages, because prices quoted by agents are sometimes crazy and unrealistic. He has already stated he is happy to go with current squad for rest of season if he has too.
Getting this team promoted two years in a row and at present being 9th in Premiership is amazing, and we the true Norwich supporters have absolute trust in Lamberts judgement.
Paying stupid money and risking the clubs future is not an option, Portsmouth, Hull,Leeds are all examples of what not to do.
QPR may well stay up this season by throwing money at the problem, but does that make Hughes a better Manager than Lambert?
If the financial fair play rules eventually do kick in and are properly regulated we will begin to see after a couple of seasons just who are the really successful Managers and clubs......

albrighton to sunderland(13)(22)Looks a good young player fit in well with the messiah at the helmConsidering how marc stated how he disliked o'neills tactics & villa will never sell one of their prized assets especially a winger.
you are just mad mate.O'neill said he has next to no funds.
villa will demand at least £10m for this guy , i doubt you will sign him - infact - in you're dreams maybe ;)Marc barely got a look in under the deserter so i can't imagine he'd consider leaving Villa.

Fans love him and he's getting plenty of football.

Stop lying you pathetic mackem! The way Mclean and Larsson are playing, he wouldnt get a game anywayOh yeah , forget who would we rather join Rangers or Sunderland.
He turned down Rangers about 6 months ago & signed a new 5 year Villa contract.
Gosh, your lying is bad & google "marc albrighton sunderland" nothing at all!

id like to see him on the back of green and white shirts rather than XXXXL kebab stained blue topsHes s..te anyways not good enoughI suspect Jimmy has got more respect of himself to become embroiled in that cauldron of hate that is Glasgow - neither of your spurious teams can expect nothing but a flood of mediocrity in the future - just accept it; nobody is interested in youse||||

THE OWLS

13 Jan 2012 15:45:26
Apparently Mathias Suarez to Arsenal for £10 million is a done deal for next summer. Looks to be a decent player. More comfortable on the ball than Chamakh who he would be replacing. Looks to have a bit of a pace too. I would have prefered Arsenal to go for someone thats a hosehold name but thats not Wenger's way i suppose.(16)(7)

13 Jan 2012 15:29:03
Carlisle's centre back Danny Livesey to join Chesterfield on loan until end of season, will be made permanent if Spireites stay up.(4)(11)

Southampton thinks about 6m bid for hooper

www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Transfer-gossip-Southampton-consider-Gary-Hooper-Celtic-striker-but-fear-will-cost-6million-article853215.html(13)(14)Hooper is no way worth 6 millionNot happeningThinks about is about right, im a saints fan but i cant see cortese paying more than 2 million for anyone unfortunatly , since marcus has died the money has dried up ,he reminds me of rupert lowe abit, surely it is time to splash the cash with the position were in but i cant see him doing it,^^ That comes from the one trophy wonders! If you think the money's dried up direct from the Leibhers'. Then what about the £7m from the Chambo sale!

Oh and btw the money hasn't dried up in the slightest! You're no Saints fan if you think Cortese is anything like Lowe!If andy Carroll is worth 35mill, then any price is believable for any playerMoney has in no way dried up, cortese has said before its all still there, just he refuses to be sucked in to paying over amounts for peopleI am a saints fan ,perhaps atkins is scared to spend to much as if we dont go up he will get sack like pardewDream on you southampton fans hooper will never got to ur club

13 Jan 2012 15:13:58
Michael Uchebo failed to impress on trial so Stoke have ended all interest in the Nigerian Striker. Pulis also playing his cards close to his chest on any other prospects stating that he's not going to go out "chasing" players to sign in this window, won't be surprised though if he's tries to pick up one or two that fail to sign for the big clubs. Personally I hope it's a full back (or 2) and another central midfielder who can actually pass the ball.(8)(5)He failed because he's not over 6ft tall and likes hoof footie, so Ipswich could be looking at him nowWhy? you dont pass the ballComment above, that's why he wants someone who can. First comment,Uchebo supposedely taller than Crouch. Agree we need two proper fullbacksBaines and hoillet. (If only we were qpr and buy everyone)

13 Jan 2012 14:41:33
Rangers confirm Enar Jaager on trial at club, move for Real Valladolid striker Javi Guerra will pick up pace this week with a £2.2m price agreed, although craig whyte is insisting that either Maurice Edu or Greg Wylde have to leave before another face is brought in.

Plus was hearing from my dundee united source that rangers are looking at Johnny Russell but his preferred destination is Celtic.(1)(11)Rangers offer contract to Mervan Celik,ex GIAS winger. And offer a pre contract agreement to Sendaza.Ayr try and re sign Ryan Stevenston.STV SPORT,AllyI heard your full of she about the Russell dealIf his 'preferred destination' is either Celtic or Rangers then he is showing a distinct lack of ambition and I don't believe he is that narrow minded - after all, Crawley Town could probably offer him better prospects in the long term; he would inevitably progress to Championsip/EPL afterva couple of seasons. You are deluded if you continue to think that up & coming Scottish players regard a move to the hatred of Glega as a step in the right direction. You both have had great difficulty in luring any real talent to your clubs eg. Craig Conway, Morgaro Gomis, Prince Buaben, Barry Robson, Scott Allan etc etc - they are simply NOT INTERESTED!

13 Jan 2012 14:41:23
Derby County are reportedly preparing to make a surprise bid for Bolton striker Kevin Davies(10)(23)

13 Jan 2012 14:33:38
Wolves looking at Blackpool's Matt Phillips and Wigan's Mohammed Diame. They could also bring in a striker, Kenwynne Jones and Nicky Maynard have been mentioned. Wolves will also strengthen there weak defence with a centre half & a full back.(16)(14)Defo dont need another winger but defence yes and big kenwyne can support fletcherSeeing is believingDefo wont get philips hes off to a big club not you , you relegation dodgersDiame wont leave wigan hes at the african cup of nations and why would he go to wolves you might get relegated yet especially if fletcher or doyle goes!Probably cause wolves are alot bigger than wigan... wigan will still finish below wolves... piss poor home support, grounds always empty, stick to egg chaseing ....

13 Jan 2012 14:27:51
6 million bid received this morning for Gary Hooper from Saints. As yet no response....(18)(22)Total MOOPOO, nothing unusual there, it's the sAIN'TS again.Because it went straight in the bin

daviebhoy08Saints probably put a 2nd class stamp on itI will piss myself laughing when this deal finally goes thru .....I think this is growing some legs and before you start i'm a neutralDont beleive it with corteseI will p""s myself laughing when this deal goes throughJust beacause you say it 50 times dosent make it true - what a lot of nonsense! No such thing as a neutral when it comes to celtic or rangers, every1 has a fav! {Ed001's Note - not true, neither of them interest me one way or the other and I know many people that feel the same way.}Thank you ed i support neither just an interested bystander, but as I said I can see this gathering momentum

13 Jan 2012 14:25:51
According to local press, Leicester City expect to tie up the deal for Billy Sharp in time for the Barnsley game at the weekend.(17)(22)Not true unfortunately! hes playing against Cardiff tomorrow out of respect to the Doncaster fans before joining the mighty foxes next week..This is a nice rumour, I like it. xHe's playing for Doncaster before signing a new contract next weekWhy u think hes gonna sign a new contract with Doncaster when ur gonna be league 1 next year? cant see it happening as Leicester can also offer more money..say bye bye Billy

13 Jan 2012 14:22:08
glasgow rangers have taken estonian right back enar jaager on trial and have offered sweden u21 international merven celik a contract(12)(7)Would that be Mick? Afterall, he's played a few gigs at Hampden!

In form Huddersfield town striker has been linked with move to newcastle for the price £11,000,000, with leon best part od the deal aswell. recived from a mate who is the agent of danny simpson.(4)(39)Crap max 5MLeon Best's ego is far too big for such a "quality" player like him to be reduced to Huddersfield's level.Newcastle will not let Leon Best go with Demba Ba on African cup of nations duty11m ?you sir are a joke11,000,000 ha ha ha bullst11m + best.

13 Jan 2012 14:17:14
Contract talks between Andrei Arshavin have come to a halt over disagreement on Arshavin's proposed £74,000 per week. Anzhi Makhachkala are preparing to intervene with an offer for a £75,000 per week deal. Arsenal have agreed to let Arshavin go for around £6,000,000.(22)(9)

13 Jan 2012 14:16:47
marvin elliot has signed for southampton, will be made public in a press talk tommorow, also on there way out from Bristol city is Cole Skuse leaving to go West Ham. would be a great move for the Bristol Born lad(6)(22)Elliott maybe, but not Skuse.Dont think that he is good enough for West HamGood signing for the saints! Needs to lose a bit of weight and increase fitness, but adkins is the man to improve himThe same elliot who signed a new contract last month and is out injured?Would Southampton fans like to sign Edna the tea lady as well as Maynard Adomah and Elliott? You lot are becoming an embarrassment to your club. Elliott may not play tomorrow due to an injury sustained against Millwall in case you add 2 and to together and get 5. Talk about dreams of being Man City ffsYou saints fans are becoming jokers like leicester fans were pre season. Youre suppose to be buying everyone under the sun and ending with no one.It is obviously a fan from another club keep posting these rumours as a real saints fan wouldn't have that information as all business is done behind close doors. Will hate to see Southamptons wage bill once this transfer window closes-

13 Jan 2012 14:12:57
Out of favour Rangers winger, Gregg Wylde, is set to sign for watford on loan for the rest of the season.

McCoist is keen for Wylde to get some first team games under his belt, to challenge for the first team next season.(6)(9)WagesI wish, touch like an elephantWouldnt say out of favour, rangers are short in every position

13 Jan 2012 14:03:30
Andy keogh set to make Leeds move next week 750.000 the reported figure, just what we need another big target man who can't score

Andiroo(12)(19)No way leeds will pay 750k when they can get him for free in 6 months time...they would be better off paying 750k for someone like matt tubbsWhat a joke !Andy keogh is not a big target man, he is jus the poor mans kevin doyleSnodgrass is going 4 sureKeogh big target man?You can always have Beckford back he can't score for Leicester.Keogh has pottential just needs someone to tell him he is a footballer his job is to score goals

13 Jan 2012 13:30:56
Reading Fc looking to bring A Hammill on loan from Wolves to replace winger J Kebe if he leaves during this window. If the move for Hammill is a non starter then a surprise move to re sign their former winger J Henry from Millwall could be on the cards.(4)(9)Stop with all these hammill rumours they are ridiculousNot a starter for Wolves great for the royals

13 Jan 2012 13:28:22
Crystal Palace, Brentford & Leyton Orient are all interested in bringing in Oldham Athletic's Djeny Bembo-Leta. The highly rated youngster is believed to be valued at around £200,000 by the Latics.(9)(4)

13 Jan 2012 13:18:29
Jordan Rhodes --> SOUTHAMPTON £4.2m plus Lee Barnard and sell on clause with further bonuses if Saints promoted, appearances etc(9)(34)No-one will want to risk Barny with the court case hanging over himIf only, I dont believe it but I really want to.You're having a laugh pal, not a chance of this happeningMORE RUBBISH, yor 1 of about 10 clubs that have signed RHODES this week. U all make me laugh, THANKS ALOT GUYS. AGBarny is out for most the season injured!
Why do people keep linking him with moves away? It's not gonna happenSaints fan here. This is tosh. Rhodes wont leave for anyone except big prem teams. even then, he should stay where he is tbhComplete rubbish - but I'd love that deal! He's quality, therefore he'll set his sights higher than Southampton.

Cahill to chelsea done deal 7m(15)(28)Proof?Even though BBC Sport has a story to say that the deal hasnt been done yet and that means he cannot play for Chelsea at the weekend even if he signs tomorrow! He hasent

13 Jan 2012 12:56:06
Liverpool are tracking Crystal Palace whizzkid Wilfred Zaha, but the stumbling block seems to be palace's asking price which is said to be around £10million(21)(18)There is NO asking price as Wilfried Zaha is NOT for sale! Plus Liverpool payed 35 million pound for Andy Carroll, So proof that they dont mind splashing the cash for a young lad who is not the finish article yet!The same club that spent 20 mil on jordon Henderson {Ed001's Note - 15.6m.}

13 Jan 2012 12:50:41
Tommy Smith to go nowhere due to QPR being short on numbers due to injuries, suspension & Africa Nations Cup. So Watford fans git it a rest and Heider isn't going to you either as he has just signed a new contract(8)(2)It will all depend on whether the fernandes cheque book lands some of the targets - if they do then expect smith to move - if the targets work out that they will be on championship wages by June - then he will stay

13 Jan 2012 12:49:15
Ipswich town are planning an auditious bis for swindon pair paul caddis and matt ritchie a combined bid of 2.5 million is believed to be enough to sway the wiltshire club to sell.(7)(18)This deal is not as daft as it may seem, Swindon want Ipswichs tallented striker Ronan Murray worth around £1.5 million that they have had on loan, so if Di Canio wants him, he's going to have to part with Richie and CaddisMurray worth 1.5 m ur avin a laugh never played a first team game u can buy the entire ipswich team for 1.5m ,unfortunately ipswich r broke

13 Jan 2012 12:40:13
More news about WHU striking woes. It
appears that they are trying to bring strikers
in but news reports are scuppering any bids
made beacuse Premier league teams are
then out bidding them. John Carew being used a
a bargaining chip for Mervan Celik.
Sears also on his way out with a possible
cash plus player deal for Marvin Sordell of
Watford. Mark Hughes has identified
Johnson and Zamora as forwards he wants to bring in to QPR. SWP is also ready to make comeback
allowing Jamie Mackie to leave for WHU(3)(11)Why would they use carew as a bargaining chip for celik the guy is a free agent ..glasgow rangers have offered him a contractAnd we can compete bottom to mid table teams the bottom line is top 6 could loan the likes of rhodes back. like any transfer window teams want to line up replacements b4 they sell one minute no movement then the merry go round kicks of and everybody is rushing to snap up players

13 Jan 2012 12:34:47
as a Bristol City fan i am hoping that Nicky Maynard, Brett Pitman and Woolford all leave the club as soon as possible, hoping Jon Stead and Albert Adomah stay. any one have any good news on any of these? ED can you help? {Ed001's Note - well I could offer those you want out a lift to their new clubs? Not sure how much more help I could give though....}(4)(8)So they will have new clubs? {Ed001's Note - Maynard looks likely, as it stands, to see out his contract and go on a free now. This January is looking like a very quiet one, I really don't see much happening at all.}Agree about maynard and stead but pitman should stay. pitman hasnt asked to leave and always puts in a shift when called upon. pitman will prove his worth when that greedy money grabber(maynard) leaves,hasnt proven to be prolific at championship level and thinks he can do it in prem. maynard your having a laugh. the sooner you leave the better.#citytillidie (-;Maynard needs 4 chances to take 1-Thats ok, but not in the Prem-I like you Ed,you're a funny man. {Ed001's Note - I would have preferred to be known as devilishly handsome and charming, but I will settle for funny. Cheers mate.}

Bournemouth chairman eddie Mitchell has again bid 500k for Swindon towns Matt Ritchie and has told Swindon the bid will now drop 25k for each day it is not accepted as he insists his Russian backed club will be run sensibly and not be held to ransom with inflated transfer fees. This will certainly cause eruptions at the wiltshire based club who were holding out for an inflated fee on the winger valued at 300k(4)(17)You bid 600k in November so you want him for lesss now and he wont go to Bournemouth. Mitchell can threaten all he likes does he think he's on the building site still with comments like that. No way will you get him for 300k your dreaming.Mitchell is such a doucheIts not being held to ransom, If Swindon want 500k for him then that's what Bournemouth will have to pay.Absolute rubbish - bit fed up now of Bournemouth fans thinking they are some big club. Swindon are in the league below and all of our players have a price, but trying to bully a club like ours just won't happen. Ritchie is probably worth 500-750k in the real world, a 500k initial bid is fair but the club rejected it so get over it. I may not agree but I imagine we're holding out for £1millionValued by you at £300K maybe - not by anyone that knows about football.
Deflate your offer all you like - we don't need the money.
Ritchie is worth more not less. This was actually taken off of a Swindon town site and i am a Brighton fan don't sweat yourselves! Jeeeez is this not a rumour site? Lighten up a bitDo the tetchy Swindon fans not realise a wind up. We all know that Ritchie is only worth about £250,000 as he is an unproven league 2 player ( albeit quite a good one). He'll probably end up as a bench warmer at a championship clubIts about time a few people got a grip and stopped bitching about a non story... He's not coming to us, as his head will be turned by a championship club like all our players were!! I'd love to have him but lets face facts neither AFCB or STFC are perm or likely to be in the near future. where has all this rubbish between the two clubs come from? no history that I'm aware of and I've been following AFCB for 20 yrs...Ritchie is on Ipswich's radar and more likely to go there than Bournemouth, as Swindon desperately wan Murray from Ipswich

13 Jan 2012 12:16:01
Southampton have made a loan enquiry for Rangers striker David Healy and have also contacted Fulham about bringing former defender Chris Baird back to St Marys(10)(25)Not sure if either would be of great help, hope we get in another CF soon though.Nonsense - Healy is not better than what we already have. Baird very unlikely signing - good player, as is someone like Andrew Davies, but where would he fit in the team?Healey is lazy and a bighead so u welcme 2 him. BUT check him out on youtube where he kicks a ball off a high roof into a skip. best on you tube??

13 Jan 2012 12:09:05

?Hi Ed you heard any Bury rumors? we have just got Giles Coke back on loan! {Ed001's Note - that is about all I have heard, and the lad who went out (Jones was it?).}(4)(2)Yeah it was Jones mate
and ok thanks not heard the Jon Parkin one? {Ed001's Note - I have not heard what is happening with him, apart from the jokes about his possible career change to Sumo wrestling.}Do you want Robinson from the Wanderers- we'll pay you to take him

Newcastle have made an improved offer of £1million for Manchester United's Ravel Morrison(27)(7)Which ha since been rejected by UnitedHe will be chomping at the bit to get to Newcastle from what i hear is he is on 2.5k a month at Man Utd ,while Nile Ranger is on 15k a week at Newcastle so i would imagine that if he went to Newcastle he would be on a min on 7k a week there plus if he is as good as they say he is .He will get premier league games under his belt sooner then later

darren gibson to everton has been confirmed. he will wear the number 4 shirt(22)(12)Glad he found his level at last.Found his level he signed for everton u no good side gibson would only just get on bench for my saterday side and that would be if we had players missing and he would pay his subs every week , this is best thing man u have ever done in any transfer Market call man u all u want but getting someone to pay for Gibson that takes real skillWe will get the best of out of himHe is not united material but he can do a job for the toffees. McGugan for Norwich!

Don't know about these Bridcutt rumours. We have holding midfielders and a big work ethic. Apart from Hoolahan though, we don't have that major skill element. I have heard people say Lewis McGugan is inconsistent, but last year at Carrow Road he was superb. Going past people at will. Forest are having a bad season and that rubs off on players. I feel the genius Paul Lambert could turn him into pure quality. He has power, great skill and a huge goal threat. He can score from anywhere within a 40 yard radius, and if it's true that he is available for 1.5million, well what are we waiting for??(20)(4)Take him ..... ill pay for the taxi£1.5 million for McGugan, I will drive him to Norwich myselfTake mcgugan he is so lazy and no world beater trust me i see him every weekDont want that peice of rubbish!Maybe he doesn't want to play on the front lawn of a Holiday Inn every weekLewis can be sublime and woeful in the same game. Whoever has managed him at forest has never been able to make him the player that Lewis thinks he is.Yes, McGugan is inconsistent, but everyone knows on his day he is a top class player. With Paul Lambert in charge I think if anyone can get him playing on a consistent basis, it is him.All you Forest fans..whilst he's a Forest player he is class, as soon as he is strongly linked with a move away he isn't good.As a forest fan i beleive this deal could be improved....

We will pay you £1.5 million to take him from us... rubbish until last season where he mis hit a few crackers,,, now rubbish again... OVERATED is an understatementIf he didnt weigh so much I would piggy back him thereYet another Forest fan who think he is now rubbish as he is linked with a move away. If he stays, in about a month you will all be saying how good he is. Pathetic Forest fans. How can he score from behind the goal? Let me guess is he quality at putting curl on his shots as well is he?

Dean Smith (Walsall manager) is struggling to persuade players to come to the club on loan, so has turned his attention to free agents and is in contact with Burton O'Brien (former Falkirk midfielder) and Carl Cort (former Wolves and current Guyana international striker)(9)(5)

Sordells proposed move to West Ham looks to be hijacked by Fulham as they look to replace Johnson and Zamora.(17)(8)I heard this 2...bugger...Every time westham bid for somone another team then wants that playerWell every decent player is on s1 radar if other clubs are finding out about our targets then there is a problem but we should be able to compete with some of these teams

hi all thought i'd share a bit of gossip from old prem player who still has a few contacts. he's just told me that liverpool are very close to a move for jermaine defoe, harry is willing to let him go and jermaine is very happy to leave. harry is still trying to tie up another forward if he does jermaine will be a liverpool player by the middle of next week. you heard it here first.....dandyman(15)(25)How many more times! JD would not move north of Watford. As he is not going anywhere, this poster is another fool.Bit of a step down for JD , cant see it myself !This will not happen as Spurs are doing really well in prem. Also he is a London boy and dont want the hassle of moving north - You heard it her first.Find this hard to believe considering jd found it hard to settle in portsmouth!! so i cant see him settling well up north?Common knowledge mate press been on
about it for a whileA step down...come on really...spurs are doing very well just now...but in the bigger picture it is in noway a step down...look to the future. plus u say he wont want to move bcos they are doing so well...does it occur to u that he might want to try get into the england team for the euro's atm with the amount of playing time hes getting that is not going to happen...rooney welbeck bent are all ahead of him in the pecking orderThe only striker that might move from Spurs in Jan id Pav and only if we get a replacement. As it is we only have Ade, Defoe and Pav and could not possibly afford to go down to two strikers
Really Defoe is moving nowhere, summer could be different, but he will be staying for now

Stoke winger Ben Marshall has rejected a new deal with the Premier League club and is now likely to be sold to the highest bidder.
Michael Uchebo will not be signing for Stoke after the towering VVV Venlo striker failed to impress on trial(14)(3)

13 Jan 2012 10:58:37
Portsmouth have missed out on Chris Wood from WBA on loan because the Football League will not allow them to sign any players until they release someone else from the wage bill. So all transfer activity at Fratton Park is on hold until either a) the club gets taken over and someone injects funds or b) they sell someone.(12)(5)Not true - he went on loan to Bristol City proving that this was complete bsBristol city now have chris wood this was done 2 days ago, you have not missed out as you had no chance any way. hahaSorry can you not read? Portsmouth have missed out on signing him on loan because he has gone to Bristol City. For your information Michael Appleton said he was close to signing him but the FL stepped in and said we weren't able to and that's when he went to Bristol.

13 jan 2012 10:52:01
stoke wont signe.. micahel uchebo.. he cant get a work permit(13)(2)

13 Jan 2012 10:50:25
Cody mcdonald heading to swindon for undisclosed fee after not settling at coventry.(7)(9)He was up for a free transfer so if you paid for him I say "well done sky blues" great bit of business, nice lad but couldn't hit a cows ar#e with a banjo! Obviously Paulo has seen something nobody else could, maybe he's a good pusher of refs?Who?? Any relation to Sir Trevor?Macdonalds home town is Chelmsford...... Coventry is 94 miles from Chelmsford....... Swindon is 89 miles from Chelmsford so I suppose that extra 5 miles closer will make him settle haha smells like Robbie Savages famous "I want to be closer to home" move. Cody is a good player though, he did well for us at Gillingham although we played him mainly as a striker and he is more of a winger. He should thrive in a low division and is a good replacement for Matt Ritchie. I would welcome him back to the GillsHmmmm i see him as more of a striker even if not a prolific striker and don't think he will fill Ritchies roll on the wing. Think the Ritchie money could of been better spent being as it was common knowledge he was free to find another clubWhat Ritchie money??????

13 Jan 2012 10:38:51
Former Man United and Norway striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to join League two basement club Plymouth Argyle as manager. Carl Fletcher will stay at the club as a player.(7)(32)Player manager? If only....!

13 Jan 2012 10:38:43
Calvin Andrew to join Yeovil Town on loan from Crystal Palace(12)(4)His levelI doubt it as there is already 6 loan players at the club, with matchday squads only allowing 5, with one sitting in the stand

13 Jan 2012 10:28:40
Sunderland will sign Gary Hooper from Celtic for 5m plus Craig Gordon, Sunderland have also approached Arsenal for a loan move for Andre Arshavin and have bid 3m for Liverpool's left back Aurelio(20)(37)Couldn't see Celtic agreeing that one as craigs contract is nearly up and he would have to take a big drop in wages. Why would we offer our best Goalkeeper? When Gordon is fit he is one of the best keepers in the Premiership. He is also Scotland's best keeper. Stop posting BS.You'll see mate, this transfer will happen 100%, as wiill the signing of Aurelio, we'll have to wait and see on the Arshavin deal, it hinders on Sessegnon leaving the club with Arsenal themselves interested, as are Liverpool and 3 german clubsThats the question though when gordon is fit, brilliant keeper but too injury prone, I'm happy with Mignolet and Westwood fighting it out for the number 1, hooper and Arshavin might both do a good jobI would like to debate scotlands best keeper...a fit gordon will do very well to budge mcgregor. but i agree this guy is having a laugh that hes part of a deal with him going to celticGordon's always injured man, the demands of the premier league is too much for his body and he'll jump at the chance to move back north, get over it he's not sunderland's best keeper anywayI am a Celtic fan and there is no way Gordon is better than Mcgregor... when was the last time Gordon played a game?? As for Hooper I hope he stays. The only reason he is injure prone is cos bruce would play him when he wasnt fully fit and then he would injure his wrist again. He is sunderland's best kepper. mignolet is too shaky at setpieces and westwood has had a few howlers this season. Oniell knows how good a keeper Gordon is and wouldn't exchange him.Where is the money coming fromCeltic will sell their best striker and replace with a keeper? are you for real? celtic have 3 fit strikers and they play every game, get a grip of reality, if celtic had an abundance of strikers or even a few backups then i could see some sense in this, but to sell the leagues top goalscorer midway through a season for peanuts is some1s wishfull thinkin! the only reason this will happen if southahmpton come in with £9-10m which im sure they will not!Total and utter crap...Hooper isnt even EPL standard

13 Jan 2012 10:20:36
Norwich city will make at least 3 signings for the january trans.....(17)(15)Who ?Maynard or rhodes mcgugan chambers or gunterSo this means youve got to sell 3 players under Delia's rules then ??

13 Jan 2012 10:19:14
Brighton have taken Man City 3rd choice keeper David Gonzalez on loan - personally, never heard of him but apparently the Colombian keeper?(4)(9)He played up here in Scotland, on loan at Aberdeen for a few months! Looked decent enough, just needs to get a decent run of games and settle down somewhere! It wouldn't be on loan as he has been released by Man City. The same David Gonzalez that Leeds had on loan last season and only played once... for the reserves? :L he was no where near good enoughDavid Gonzalez has been released by Manchester City so no loan necessary

13 Jan 2012 10:18:46
The contract extension of Steven Gerrard was brought forward,as a prerequisite to a big star signing in the next few days

YNWA(11)(17)Maybe its the one that shines over Bethlehem at Christmas as it isnt there anymore?Do you know what prerequisite means?

Are you telling me that Liverpool are negotiating for a player, but that player has said "I'll only come if Gerrard signs a new contract!?Yeah, sure..Jarvis maybe? :D

13 Jan 2012 10:16:30
preston will sign micheal bostwick for 500,000 by 20/01/2012(5)(11)Do we have the money i think not or we

13 Jan 2012 10:11:58
West Brom have made an approach for Reading striker Noel Hunt, who manager Roy Hodgson wants to reunite with Shane Long, a summer signing from Reading. It could prompt a series of transfers at the Sir John Madejski Stadium, with Reading's want-away winger Jimmy Kebe in talks with West Ham United. The Royals are closing in on a replacement after agreeing a £3m fee with Huddersfield Town for the in-demand Jordan Rhodes. West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur withdrew their bids for Rhodes last week, after refusing to guarantee him first team football.

Source-The Times(4)(19)Nice story but the only truth i can see is probably the interest in Kebe. Also Big Sam has said today that 3mill was rejected for JR straight up and they are not enteratianing counter offers.

13 Jan 2012 10:07:51
Celtic to approach west ham for permission
to speak to Frederic Picquionne about
possible move north. Sam Allardyce not keen
to let Fred for anything less than sick squid(9)(8)

13 Jan 2012 08:03:30
Hi ed, just wondering if you know any possible rumours about Norwich? Cheers :) {Ed001's Note - I don't have anything new at all today, sorry.}(2)(7)

13 Jan 2012 10:04:15
nice to hear that Big Sam has highlighted
good young alternate targets to Jordan
Rhodes. Sky Sports report WHU have made
offers for Jamie Mackie at QPR and Marvin
SOrdell from Watford, both good young
forwards with lots of pace. Believed £4m would get the pair of them but Hughes has put
temporary hold on mackie deal which was
close to completion and should still be done
by end of Jan, as should Jimmy Kebe deal(7)(7)Would need more to get Sordell. After the pathetic over-reaction of some west ham fans to the sock incident its unlikely kebe will move there. Wouldn't it be nice if west ham started to clear some of their mounting debts rather than spending more money.Ah but the money for January transfers is coming from Gold and Sullivan's personal wealth and not the club. Seperate accounts etc. Don't worry, debts are still being paidYou'd probably need £4m just to start the bidding for SordellComing from Gold and Sullivan's personal wealth. That is still a debt, eventually these guys will want to see some money back.G/s have been trimming the debt inregards to over paid players

13 Jan 2012 10:01:38
Tevez to make a deadline day move to Spurs for £20m if the Remy deal cannot be completed. Remy costing circa £20m(9)(31)It's wishful thinking but why do you want to make spurs fans look like liverpool one's putting silly unrealistic targets, 1.wages 2. Man City not selling to a now potential title contenderTo be honest I don't think City care where he goes - they just want him out!

That said, I can't see him coming to Spurs...

13 Jan 2012 09:49:25
Jake Howells to join Charlton from Luton Town on a free in the summer.(5)(5)Jake is on Ipswich's radar they have checked him out again, that's twice now, so expect a move to Ipswich not Charlton

13 Jan 2012 09:40:13
Ipswich town are going to sign kane ferdinand today for undisclosed fee. Also paul jewell trying to finalise a deal for nacho novo who has rejected a return to ibrox.
Elsewhere qpr hoping to get there first signing under mark hughes, they have had a5 million bid acepted for an unnamed southampton player(3)(16)The unnamed southampton player would only be jason puncheonDanny butterfieldThey've all got names at Southampton - so dont know who this is...?They've got numbers too - which makes it easier as those Dutch and Belgium names can be quite tricky.£5m at Southampton? Lambert, Fonte, Schneiderlin, Lallana.....None of which would be going. so this sounds like bull to meAll of those four players are worth more than £5m!

Dream on.....Only possible player would be Schneiderlin. Saints don't need to sell and wont jeopardise selling first team players while they push for promotion. Therefore poor rumour!Novo never rejected a deal from rangers as rangers never offered him one .he was only training at murray park to keep fit over xmasCant think of Anyone at Saints that is worth 5m and not worth more! One of the fullbacks? Gully?

13 Jan 2012 09:35:19
Looks like Brighton are set to win the race for the signature of David Gonzalez. The 29 yearl old ex Man City Goalkeeper has been on loan with Aderdeen for this season and has had his contract terminated by mutual consent. There is a number of clubs interested but it seems the Columbian International is favouring a move to the Amex.(7)(3)Had him at leeds last season but did not impress.

Blackburn, Bolton, Newcastle,Wigan and wolves are to sigh man u hot prospect Ravel Morrison for a fee around 1m-2m. Newcastle first to put a bid in. Blackburn and Bolton make pick to sign more proven players first. wolves have only got 5m left to spend and they are not sure he has the right personalty to be at wolves. ravel is out of contract in the summer and man u want rid fast.(3)(20)TryingApparently he off to man city or barca. He is supposed to be classMU dont let young HOT prospects go. Especially fo £1- £2m.£1-2mil, for a player who in 6 months will go for 250-300k? United will sell for 600-900kThere's been a lot of talk that Fergie doesn't think he has a calm enough temper to be part of United's future, though, and if that's the case I can see it. If any manager wants to take a (relatively inexpensive) gamble on trying to tame him they could have a top player in a few years.Talented with a total bad attitude.Y do ppl think its going to tke 1 to 2 mil to sign this lad he will be a on a free at the end the season apart from having to manu development cost which has been said to be around 300,000

Scouts at Manchester United are expected to be sent to monitor Rosenborg BK's creative midfield player Markus Henriksen following reccomendation from Utd icon, now Molde head coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The 19 year old impressed for the Tippeligaen outfit last season scoring 14 goals from central midfield, resulting in his efforts being rewarded with the domestic 'Young Player of the Year' award and

The player's father Trond Henriksen, former player and current assistant manager at the club, has reportedly held talks with his son's agent Andreas Ekker in the aim to move him on to bigger and better things. There has also been confirmed interest from Serie A side Napoli.

United's interest in the player follows the return of legend Paul Scholes to the injury ravaged squad at the age of 37, some 18 years older than Henriksen. There has been increasing pressure for Sir Alex to strengthen his midfield and Henriksen, who would be allowed to leave his current club for around £12M, looks to be the name at the top of his list.(17)(16)This is absolute rubbish ! Markus Henriksen scored two goals for Rosenborg last season, making it 10 goals since his debut in the 2009 season,

He has clearly got some potential, but he's far from good enough to ever play for a club like Manchester United. The price you put on him is absolutely ridiculous ! If Rosenborg is offered something in the region of 2-4 million £ they'll sell him in a heartbeat.

The Norwegian

Leicester to give up on Sharp, instead Leicester to make a bid for Kevin Davies from Bolton for £4million and Cardiff City midfielder Peter Whittingham for £6million.

Andy King to leave Leicester for Wigan before the window closes.(13)(41)You're obviously not a local lad otherwise you'd have seen the report on East Midlands Today that confirmed the club (Andrew Neville) was talking to Sharp whilst the camera crew were at the stadium! Other than that you were spot on.Btw - Sven has left, Pearson is in charge now, £6m and £4m... i don't think so, but a nice try all the same. What kind of fantasy world do you live in? £4 million for a playet of Davies age!! And if Whittingham is worth £6 million I would like to see where Wigan are getting £15million to buy Andy King!!Where do ppl get there info from?? Pearson is not gonna lose interest in sharp when a bid has been accepted already ... as i said yesterday on ere Leicester Assistant Manager Craig Shakespeare 'Extremely Confident' he will sign in nxt couple of days

Barcelona in talks with Brighton about loaning some of there B team players. Barcelona officials were impressed with Gus Poyet style of play and feel this would be a perfect club to send some youngsters for experience(15)(34)Absolute tosh. Barca have a reserve side playing competitive football in the 'championship' of Spain.Barcelona B play in the second division of the Spanish Liga which is a perfect place for them to gain experience. Given the players who've come through that route I can't see why all of a sudden they would feel it better to send them to Gus PoyetBarcelonas B team would the league last year but they not allowed to be promoted because they would be in the same league as their First team.. So they dnt need BrightonLmao! you couldn't make this st up if you tried, what next, Southampton to win the Champions League? oh wait, their fans think it's possibleBarcelona are well known to look at the Brighton set up and aspire to get there's to a similar level...No Saints fan old enough to remember playing at The Dell thinks we're better than we are. Barca players to Brighton?! More chance of Pooyet being a Saints fan.

Polish Goalkeeper Artur Boruc is set for a shock return to Celtic. The Fiorentina stopper has 5 months left on his contract and the Italian club are eager to cash in on the keeper.

Nikica Jelavic, Allan Mcgregor and Dorin Goian are set to depart Rangers this transfer window. Nikica Jelavic has been strongly linked with a host of Premiership clubs and it seems that Everton will come out of the pack to sign the Croatian for a fee believed to be around £7 million. Mcgregor is set to complete a move to Malaga for a fee around £5 million and central defender Goian is set to depart for Bolton in a cash plus player deal which would see the Ibrox club bag £1 million plus the services of Bolton defender Paul Robinson.(15)(32)You're forgetting the bit where Gray Hooper joins SouthamptonCould nt care less about the boruc 1 but as for mcgregor goian and jelavic its all garbage 1st mcgregor mccoist wants him to stay and hes also is rangers through and through and would play into his 50s if he could then we have goian who only just signed and has been the bedrock of our side who also is lovin his football at ibrox and now jelavic liverpool everton qpr to name but a few supposedly all want him with the pool linked with demba ba and another couple of strikers have nt been in touch since bein told to bolt in the summer everton like rangers have nt got 2 pence to rub together at the moment and the qpr manager tht expressed interest in him has been given the boot so tht kinda pours cold water over these rumours good luck on the boruc 1 the guys a legend in glasgow PMSLDont be so bloody stupid Everton havent got 7 million to spend on anyoneEverton are like Rangers they dont even have 7 penceUtter garbage. Malaga have just signed a keeper Kemeni. Rangers paid 800k for big Goian so would want more than 1m. Robinson is a 1st team player at Bolton, why would they let him leave. All the above means this rumour is steIf we gave you £1million to take Robinson from us- would you do it? He's a total disaster area!

12 Jan 2012 21:26:33
Silly nonsense about Jutkiewicz and Southampton. He's having a medical at Middlesbrough and will sign there for £2-million tomorrow. Everton will get a cut of that - part of the deal that brought him to Coventry.(22)(9)I heard £1.5mThink Adkins will regret not signing the lad. He is a Saints fan and would have given all on the pitch. Hopefully 1 top quality finisher plus Lee already signed, centre back as cover and maybe a midfielder are on the agenda as we have alot of injuries at the moment. Happy new year to ALL football fans, from a polite Saints fan.Ah yes, the same confidence that you boro fans were saying it would be done deal and announced Wednesday. Good luck with that. Out of the two teams saints are better, and he's a lifelong saints fan..wonder where he'd rather be..I can see Jutkiewicz signing for Saints as he is an ideal forward in the Championship and will help the push for the championship.Thank god...as a Saints fan i'm glad hes gone elsewhere.

Worst footballer I've ever seen!Cant see us selling vokes, he may go there on loan like he did wiv burnley, nd i would rather choose hammill ova kightlyThis is a wishlist. The only rumour to come of it will be others saying the names have been mentioned by someone on this site.Oxford just turned down a 200k bid from swindon for constableWho are stevenage town?.... Craig Reid is injured and wont be back till Feb!Hmm you cant even spell REID correctly. plus im a stevenage fan and know hes out until febuary. Please please take Michael Brown, he takes up a ton of wages and brings very little to our squad (he's nowhere near the prem player he was when portsmouth were in prem.)Every time I have seen Unnamed Striker play for Man Utd reserves he's been great, you're getting a great player on loan.

Millwall are looking into signing Cray Wanderers Striker Leigh Bremmer. Scouts have bee watching him for 2 weeks and looking to bid £10,000(3)(3)Seriously, Leigh is over 30 and near the end of his career. He was with Millwall as a kid but he got released. If Millwall are scouting Cray, which a lot of teams are there are miles better prospects available

Not sure who before you ask, sorry, but I would think it should be possible to work it out as they have to be 18 to go out on loan or is that just the Prem?}(3)(3)Lukas jutkiewicz is Discussing persenal termsApparently he has done a 4 and half year contract could be in squad too face Burnley Tarmo kink in talks with some polish squad for-sale and someone is after Scott MacDonald and mowbray is after 2 maybe 3 more signings could be wingers cause he is trying too sell Halliday and the sale of Kink

Leicester City are stalling on St Ledgers transfer to Ipswitch Town till after FA Cup replay with Forest due to Sol Bamba goin to African Cup Of Nations with Ivory Coast....Also Leicester Assistant Manager 'Extremely Confident' of Billy Sharp snubbing Doncaster Rovers in favour of move to the King Power Stadium in nxt couple of days after a week of negotiations being held(10)(10)Sharp has not even talked to Leicester so that must tell you he is not that excited at prospect of joining you.Clearly another person tht dunno wot hes chatting about....i dnt post untrue stuff these are FACTS!! look em up yourselfSharp will sign soon I'm sure, I don't think he relishes the thought of being donny and league 1s highest paid player!Sharps agent was talking to Leicester all weekend and sharp himself has been talking to Leicester today.Sharp was at the Stadium talking to Neville whilst East Mids Today were filming there. So many tossers thinking that if they wish hard enough it won't come true... this isn't Disneyland sweetheart, wave Billy bye bye and go sit in the corner.I hope Doncaster do a Leicester and back out after they agree a fee and player is due to sign!Yh yh m8 and when have Leicester done that...are you another jealous Doncaster fan looking 4ward to life in League 1 without ur best player? ahh blessActually we did back out of the St Ledger deal, although for me its more about St Ledger not trusting that the useless manager of ipswich wont be sacked soon. Not Leicesters fault. Are you another jealous Doncaster fan.

Throwing money around will guarantee nothing. Leicester have been down this road before but don't seem to be learning their lesson.Who told u we backed out of St Ledger deal?? read the original post! it has just been put on hold till after Forest game hes still leaving 4 Ipswich after so ACTUALLY no deal has been cancelled...and when have Leicester been down this road b4? apart from waster Sven blowing 15M @ start of the season...we ent had no money b4 that to spend NUMPTY...just coz ur clubs broke, jealousy will get u no where

Question for ED:

Lots of speculation surrounding James Constable with a number of clubs keen to take him away from Oxford United. Swindon had two bids rejected today. What are you hearing your end about Constable?(7)(5)Wait until the weekend is over i think you will see an ongoing negotiation starting on Monday, Oxford dont want to upset the fans and will make out every player has a price and it was too good to turn down and he will go.

12 Jan 2012 20:11:56

Saints fans posting about how rich their owners are, and all the players who are DEF going to St Marys ( Maynard, Long, Sharp, The cov bloke, etc ), yet they actually sign no one and spend peanuts! Santa Cruz to follow Saprky into Loftus Road. Will be recalled from Spain so Man C can get his wages off the books. Low fee (maybe less than £1m) - bargain -he always suits Hughes and works well for his teams.(18)(7)Trust me,the only space he will find is on the treatment table

12 Jan 2012 20:15:52
Sam allardyce keen on bringing in qpr's speedy wideman Wayne routledge and morten gamst pederson who he knows well from his Blackburn days to supply the ammunition for his deadly strikers!(5)(21)Routledge plays for swanseaDo you know anything about football ?I'm a hammers fan and this has to be the most ridiculous story I've heard yet. Routledge plays for Swansea and just because Pederson played for Big Sam before certainly doesnt mean he is willing to drop to the championship for him now.

Scouts at Manchester United are expected to be sent to monitor Rosenborg BK's creative midfield player Markus Henriksen following reccomendation from Utd icon, now Molde head coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The 19 year old impressed for the Tippeligaen outfit last season scoring 14 goals from central midfield, resulting in his efforts being rewarded with the domestic 'Young Player of the Year' award.

The player's father Trond Henriksen, former player and current assistant manager at the club, has reportedly held talks with his son's agent Andreas Ekker in the aim to move him on to "bigger and better things". There has also been confirmed interest from Serie A side Napoli.

United's interest in the player follows the return of legend Paul Scholes to the injury ravaged squad at the age of 37, some 18 years older than Henriksen.
There has been increasing pressure for Sir Alex to strengthen his midfield and Henriksen, who would be allowed to leave his current club for around £12M, looks to be the name at the top of his list.(6)(11)

12 Jan 2012 19:35:50
Lukas Jutkiwietz to sign for Boro on 2 and a half year deal tomorrow morning, still possible deal for Ishmael Miller of Forest. Boro looking to offload some squad players i.e Tarmo Kink, Andy Halliday, on loan to championship clubs for first team football as only 5 subs allowed, Boro top heavy in this dept.(4)(7)Which boro? There is only one Boro all the others just dont have class!

any interesting leicester city transfer rumors in or out(6)(10)

12 Jan 2012 19:57:38
Have it on good information that bates has told Grayson he must sell to buy otherwise it's Gunna be another disappointing transfer window with loans and past it's the only ins and even then he would still have to make cuts

Andiroo(12)(5)But we've already signed three, and are in for St. Ledger, Adam Smith, Kris Boyd and Mark Marshall too. I think Grayson is being allowed to spend for once. This is certainly the most optimistic I have seen Leeds in a transfer window for a while.
wallyWe wouldn't want to spend any of the money Uncle Bates has withdrawn from the club over recent years, would we.

12 Jan 2012 19:57:04
Hey lads I see you are linked with Airdries Ryan Donnelly, 23 goals in 25 games only 20 year old, just wondered if you men have heard anything???(6)(3)Linked with Malky Mackay's youth revolution at CardiffIt was in todays paper that he wants to follow Scott Allen and go to a club in England. He has been watched by a number of Scouts down thereWould imagine Cardiff, great prospect but would he be better serving more time in Scotland, ie Goodwllie, Conway. Learn the trade and full time

12 Jan 2012 19:08:59
David Cotterill who has left Swansea City has joined Leicester City on trial with a view to a permanent move.(8)(13)He is te, what a waste of money he was. And he demands high wages. There is better players out there than him that leicester could attract.I don't get this move what so ever. David Cotterill is 24, and needs to start playing regular football, and isn't going to get it at Leicester.

To Leicester he maybe get a few chances, but he should move to a team, where he will be playing week in week out.

Move down the league to move back up it.

12 Jan 2012 19:07:02

- Harlee Dean (Southampton 15,000)

- Rhys Murphy (Arsenal Loan)
_________________________________________________
You certainly won't be getting Rhys Murphy back. He was training with Middlesborough in the summer and decided not to join as Rangers showed an interest where he played behind closed doors against Hamilton. He is a close friend of mine and I know for a fact 3 championship teams have all enquired about his availability.(0)(10)Harlee Dean is one of our best youth players, £15,000 is about £200,000 offAs Steve Gillespie is a mate of mine i can honestly say that after speaking with him he has no idea where this story came from and has no intention of leaving Col U for BrentfordYa ya freinds of himCharlton have brought in 25 players this season, enough already!

12 Jan 2012 18:57:28
A lot of idiots posting on this page. Hooper won't leave Celtic for under 8m. Southampton are useless. Ki may leave if the interest in him is factual, you can't turn down a 7-8m bid for a player easily, although, myself, like most hoops fans, only want to see signings, a centre half and another good striker would be a guaranteed league winner.(10)(15)This coming from someone who has never watched them play 30,000 crowds my friend owned by a billionaire so find your facts out before you down my team .watch your football where there is only four games a season worth watchingThe deal is done so you will eat your words5th richest club in the uk.money talks.coyrNot a Celtic or even SPL fan but at last a sensible response about Southampton thinking they can buy anyone just because they,ve got a bit of cash! you are still in the championship and have won nowt as yet !Southampton would beat Celtic. Hooper is not better than what the saints but will improve the overall quality of the squadFunny thing is the Championship is the same standard as the SPL and the only reason hooper gets to play in europe is the fact only 2 teams in the spl share the title every year , its abit boring really and attendance wise you got ground under 10k 15k then 45+k , so its a 2 horse race every single yearrrrrrrrrrrrrr how boring , celtic and rangers would be relegation fodder in the EPL and at a push maybe win a few NPC titles ..30, 00 you say? well, he plays in front 50,000+ every 2nd week as it is.

1 billionaire you say? well, he has 3 at Paradise.

done deal you say? how come only the idiots on here are saying this? (btw, the more you keep saying it, doesnt make it true)

money talks you say? well pay the crazy money that celtic would want for him, instead of piddly wee 5m offers lol!!Like robbie keaneSouthampton would beat celtic hhahaaaa....best pi5h i've heard yet, you lot truly are imbeciles!

there's been far better teams than your deluded lot that have tried and failed miserably.....blackburn, liverpool, man u, barcelona etc etc

when was the last time southampton did something remotely noteworthy? oh yeh, thats right, they havent

yawn....getting bored with this st!Big clubs pay what rightI doubt rangers n celtic would even get out of the championship just cos u beat a big team every now and again dont make u a quality outfit. e.g. palace beating united at old trafford still just an average championship club. u would last the season in epl n would struggle in cahmpionshipI agree with post aboveOh dear, don't be silly. Celtic would easily win the English Championship and would finish mid table first season in EPL. The EPL is not great - look at the clubs in the bottom half. Hardly inspiring names.I honestly doubt u would be the likes of southapmton westham cardiff. i would love to see the league cup extended up to scotland so you could particapte then we would finally see. i 10000000% would never let u in the epl or championship 1 it would be the end of scotish football as we know it hardly any1 cares about it as it is and if the only two clubs that matter dont play in the spl then only about 2 people in 100000000000% would bother watching it and 2) it would hardly be fair on a team who is scrapping away to save the skin in the championship or league 1 to jus be replaced you would have to start from the doc martins league n build ur way in! plus both teams are After a couple of seasons on the tv money given out in the epl, the old firms squads would match any in the leagueBillionaire at celtic never heard the like of it think some1 better take a reality check quick style and not even 1 of them hes shoutin theres 3 typical celtic fan always talkin in telephone numbers lolGet a grip for crying out loud Celtic and rangers would struggle in the championship, Hooper for 8 million...the lad is a mid table chamionship player at best and his value in English terms no more than 1 million max, you cant compare the Scottish prem to the EPLTo the clown above who obviously lives in a little southampton shaped bubble.....do a search on dermot desmond & denis o'brien...2 of the top 10 richest owners in british football no less

complete and utter tool you are, thinking you know what you're talking aboutWhy would celtic or rangers struggle in the championship, or the epl for that matter?

i dont get your logic.

for a start, we would have an equal share of the money, therefore our teams would be improved greatly, and we've already proven to you lot that we can beat you, so jog on with your stupid comments

i would actually suggest that it's the championship teams that would struggle in the spl, for a start you would have to get by on a meagre amount of money, so your crap teams become even crapper

what a stupid stupid argument {Ed001's Note - do you think the money would come in first? You don't get it in advance mate, so you wouldn't have any extra money to spend at first.}Dermot is a billionare.
There is absolutely no doubt Celtic would win the championship. What is this fascination with that league. The old firm quite rightly cherry pick good players as thats what they can AFFORD - matthews, ledley, hooper etc.. Your league is nothing short of mediocre. Not one old firm fan will dispute the spl is poor. However the difference is think of the amount of our squad players, our reserves, our cast offs go to your league. Wake up, smell the coffee. The standard, calibre, history, fanbase will NEVER match the old firm. Celtic have at least 20 internationalists in their squad. Ask yourself this simple question. How many players in your team play for their country?? Isnt that the benchmark for quality? Imbiciles..Dermot Desmond is an Irish businessman and financier. He is estimated to be worth 1.45billion and is ranked by the Sunday Independent as the sixth-richest person in Ireland.

Denis O'Brien
Net Worth$4.2 B As of March 2011 (forbes website)

Dermot Desmond, Denis O’Brien, Willie Haughey, Gerald Weisfeld and Jim Kerr are all on the list compiled by 442 magazine with a combined wealth calculated at just over £4bn

Freely available information.

Didnt notice Craig Whyte on the list?

MacNote to editor - dont think previous poster implied or suggested the money would be given up front. the fair point made was that with that cash we would then attract without a shadow of a doubt the best players in that league, in other leagues due to the reputation, history, fanbase. the squad celtic currently have would be enough to take the championship apart just the extra millions you recieve would allow us a few nice additions.. {Ed001's Note - but they wouldn't receive extra money! They would, in fact, lose European money as they would have to earn their place in Europe through the English league if they joined it. I really don't think people think this through. They would be in the same position they are in now, except they would have to pay higher wages, and the competition would be higher level.}{Ed001's Note - do you think the money would come in first? You don't get it in advance mate, so you wouldn't have any extra money to spend at first.}

no Ed, i know that it would come in over a number of years, but the fact is that celtic especially could afford to speculate to accumulate, knowing that the rewards would be forthcoming.

and to pick up on the other guys post about the amount of internationalists in our side, surely that proves that, no matter how mediocre the spl appears to be, the fact remains that a higher calibre of players play with celtic compared to any team in the championship {Ed001's Note - you get most of your players to sign for you on the back of having European competition to play in every year. You would lose that, unless you qualified through the league, if you moved to the English leagues. So you would have to pay better wages or lose your best players, you would be no better off than you are now. In fact it would be more of a struggle because you would be playing teams with more money than you invested in their teams.}Ed your arguement it appears(you seem to be staunchly in the camp the old firm wouldnt be able to compete)is that celtic and rangers wouldnt be able to hold onto their best players.. nonsence, they would smell the premiership and realise they will be there soon. shirt sponsorships, fa cup win bonuses & televised games earn £200k alone, the money is there dont kid yourself.. {Ed001's Note - I am afraid you are kidding yourself. In time I am sure the Old Firm could compete, but it would take time and good management, it won't magically happen like you seem to believe. You won't be any richer than the clubs you are facing, Newcastle get over 50k a week and they aren't rich. What makes you think that Celtic and Rangers will be rich just because they jump ship? Anyway, how little self respect must you have to want to play in another country purely for money? Sad that you think that is all that matters.}13 Jan 2012 00:35:02
Five Celtic shareholders have been listed amongst the 100 richest people in British football- more than any other club.

videocelts.com/2011/10/blogs/celtic-shareholders-top-footballs-rich-list

see, the difference is, us celtic fans can back up our arguments with FACTS! {Ed001's Note - irrelevant, the FFP ruling means it makes no difference any more.}Ed....tv money, gate receipts, merchandise, hospitality and board funds would all skyrocket, which would offset the loss of european football money generated.

europe generates around £7m, £15m if you get a decent run in the champions league or europa final. i think that with the extra revenue of playing in england, celtic could be bringing in more than 40m, and with the current squad we have, if we were to start in the championship, we'd walk it, no question {Ed001's Note - I give up, you clearly have no idea. You think that players wouldn't just want higher wages because of a sniff of glory, delusional at best. Give it up, this argument is ridiculous and it is pointless and it is boring as hell now. It won't happen.}Eds note 001- if the old firm can get 50,000 + in the spl ,can you begin to imagine what level off support they would get in the epl? {Ed001's Note - yes I can, the same as they get in an Old Firm match, no more because the grounds wouldn't hold more. What a pointless thing to say. Or are you going to tell us how they would build bigger grounds and put themselves into huge debt rather than spending money on players?}Ed, i think you're missing the point a bit. it's not about how desperate we are to play in another league, it's responding to silly comments like we would struggle to compete in the championship.

at the end of the day, everyone with a football background knows that the old firm are huge, and with the same silly money thrown at them, they would do more than compete....do a bit of role reversal and put, say bolton in the spl with no money, do you think they would struggle? {Ed001's Note - long term the Old Firm would compete, I agree, if they were managed right, but right now they would struggle in the Championship. It is different raising your game for a friendly or European game, then it is to raise your game to face Burnley away. Bolton would struggle anywhere right now, their players are bereft of confidence, but even so, the worst they would come is 3rd in the SPL.}I agree with ed! Over time yes u could compete but straight away you would struggle and I honestly doubt you would pull in 50,000 for Bristol city on a dark cold Wednesday night. I don't think history counts for as much as it used too money talks too much and if there wasn't a guerentteguarantee of European football I think that any footballer would choose a championship side pushing promotions then celtic or rangersThe old firm were huge in the 80s now it's only huge up in Scotland times have moved on! Celtic and rangers are now just history with out a massive investment u will never win anythin note worthy to the footballing world e.g. Champions league or Europa leagueWhy would u be given the right to start in the championship? I honestly think the likes of both Sheffield teams n Carlton would give u a run in league 1!Is this a school playground or what! My clubs bigger than yours! Ner ner ner ner ner!
Bottom line is, no matter how many facts people drudge up about how rich their shareholders are etc, both Celtic and Southampton spend next to nothing in the transfer markets despite the delusion of their supporters!
I don`t support either club, but this rumour site is full of saints fans mouthing off about who they will sign ( Maynard, Rodriguez, Sharp, The Cov striker who I cant spell! etc ) and they NEVER sign any of them!
As for Celtic, there is NO WAY Hooper is worth £8 million! He has only been proven at League 1 level in England and just because he scores in the SPL it doesnt mean he can be a championship striker ( Boyd and Mcdonald case in point ). He would be worth maximum £2.5 million. When Leicester can sign Billy Sharp for 1.85 million why would anyone even look at Hooper!I'm with Ed on this one Old Firm would not be able to compete in the EPL. Is it just me but are all the Celtic fans contradicting themselves? Your saying with all the money you would have from the EPL you would be able to pay higher wages and spend more on better players but yet your saying you have 5 of the 100 richest owner in British football. So in my opinion money isnt a factor as you are (rich)!! Really as Ed has stated without the lure of European Football they would struggle to attract the players to be competitive.Celtic and Rangers would survive in the epl, epl only has 6 teams the rest are terrible!Ed 001's without doubt Celtic and Rangers would increase the size of there grounds ,as i said 50,000 + against spl teams would mean another 20- 25,000 per home game in the championship never mind the epl, there would be huge funds from sponsorship as well to follow . {Ed001's Note - how would they pay for the increase in stadium size? With a huge mortgage like Arsenal, meaning they won't have anything to spend on players? Give it a rest, it won't happen and they wouldn't just increase the size of the ground like that.}Incorrect. The Old Firm clubs would struggle to finish above the likes of Fulham, Stoke, Everton and Villa. I think they'd manage decent season in the Championship but there'd be no guarantee of promotion IMO.I think you're all missing the point completely. NOONE SOUTH OF THE BORDER GIVES A MONKEY'S LEFT TESTIE ABOUT SCOTTISH FOOTBALL!To the above poster.

It seems a lot of people have opinions about Scottish football.

Celtic fans are only on here arguing because people are suggesting that our players could be snapped up for knock down prices.

Ed I agree that the FFP rules makes how rich the owners are irrelevant but when they do come in the advantage will be with the best supported teams who can fill their stadiums, i.e. 60,000+ capacity Parkhead. (if we can get 50,000+ for the likes of Dunfermline we can sure as hell get it for Bristol City!). Celtic are officially the 9th best supported team in Europe by the way.

Hooper has already proved he can cut it in the championship. We signed him from Scunthorpe in the Championship when he had scored a bucket load of goals, despite missing a few months of the season he only just missed out on being top scorer (to Nicky Maynard?) for a relegation battling team. For £2.5M.

I honestly believe Celtic would win the championship, there are several Premiership class players in the Celtic team. Now the seem to have figured out how to play as a team I would say this is probably the best Celtic team since the Martin O'Neil days.

MacTo the above poster, you are 100% correct mate its a pity those far removed from reality cant see it.No one is knocking the epl even although its just about english in name only, its big clubs are foreign owned the players are for all corners of the globe as are the managers and its most famous team is due to 3 Scotsmen , Busby,Docherty and Ferguson.Celtic and rangers would both be a yoyo team like wba, birmingham etc up one year, down the next, and assuming he is not a money grabber, i imagine hooper would much rather play in the npc because lets be honest, its more prestigious to be able to play in england where it is renowned to have the best leagues in the world. whilst i also agree that there is a definite division between the top 6 in the epl, the other teams are getting better... didnt it used to be a top 4?
southampton fans may be slightly delusional at times, but so are celtic fans who reckon they would bring in more fans against the lower teams like wigan, wba and blackburn etc. stop whining because you MIGHT lose a good player as has happened to southampton every year almost and rarely happens to celtic... (when was the last big signing to come from celtic)

southampton in:

Tadanari Lee work permit has been permited

Gary Hooper and Kris commons to join for 8mil plus Jason puncheon

also expect joe lewis to sign for around 1.25mil(20)(18)Where are southhampton getting this money from yeah they got 13 mil from chamberlain but that was all paid for there debts. No chance,i am a big saints fan and this is wishful thinking ,always leave everything too late and will end up with rubbish. There is no way Hooper will be allowed to leave in January and i don't think he would join a Championship club.

I'm not having a go at Southampton or their ambition, they probably be EPL next season, but this is not going to happen just now. Celtic are in a more stable financial position than most clubs in the UK and can choose when and if they sell any assets.I'm not sure saints will sign Hooper, he is a quality player but I can't see him joining us with the way Celtic are playing. However we do have money, the sale of AOC did raise 12mil and even if that did go towards paying off debts then we still have money as we are, I think, the 5th or 6th richest club in England, meaning we do have money but we won't buy everyone!Puncheon not good enough and is not Celtic class
, Hooper will be signing a contract extension and will remain a Celtic player for a few seasons yetSaints are the 5th richest club in britain so a few mill is nowt but anyway we don't want hooper there's a lot better players than him we could try to getSaints owners are multi multi billionairesAs a Saints fan I can't really see Hooper joining us - depsite the Nigel Adkins connection and his desire for a place in the England side. If we go up this summer (and that's a big if given our recent form) then its a different matter. Also I can't see Saints spending the kind of money Celtic want for him at the moment. Saints are owned by the Liebherr family who are worth about £2.5 billion by all accounts - but since Marcus Liebherr's death the family seem to have lost interest. If we do go up I guess they will sell the club at a profit in the summer - if not they will sell it at break even instead as they only paid £15 million for the club. Saints do have money from selling Oxlade-Chamberlain but they will have to spend it wisely as that is all they've got. By all accounts they we're running at a loss last season but have already used some of the Oxlade-Chamberlain money to pay off any debt they had as a result.Stop being so sensible. you are not welcome on here!Saints have little debt, our existing debt was paid off when Markus Liebherr bought the club back in 2009. We've spent about £7m in transfers over the last 2 seasons, and posted losses of about £2.4m last season and £5m the season before. There is money available that was left to the club by Markus after his death, but we are currently operating pretty well financially as a club. Few clubs post profits at the end of a financial year, and we haven't accrued much real debt over the last few years.

As for Hooper, there is a connection as Nige managed him at Scunny. Whether Celtic will be willing to sell him or not is another matter entirely. They bought him for £2.4m, so I think they would want at least double that before they started to consider the offer. Neil Lennon is looking at strikers as a priority for this window now, they've been linked with everyone from Jordan Rhodes to Kevin Davies so far, so this could hint at some movement for Hooper. Nige said in an interview after the Coventry game that we could be making a major signing, and this could well be it.

Whether the move will come off is another matter really, but it's not unfeasible.99% of football clubs run at a loss FACT Saints are no different, Saints have ONE of the best youth academy in the UK which genarates income, so it is sensible to pay off any debt that might arrise.
We have been in the ST before and payed a massive price nearly loosing the club.

Saints wont pay silly money for a player which is why we pulled out of the Sharp deal in the summer, so forget the hooper deal.

To all the Celtic fans that seem to think he wont leave at all, you are all deluded, there is no loyalty shown these days from both player and club, if the money is right then he will leave, if the club is Man U, Saints or Crewe.

As for the league i have just looked at the SPL and there is already a 17 point gap between 2 and 3, tells you all you need to know really, as one of the top two fans it must be boreing, not saying the Championship top teams are better than the SPl top teams, there aint no diffrence in my opinion. The leagues however are miles apart The championship is far more closer and competitve.

As for European football, you will get that every year because of the weakness of the SPL, love to see how the clubs would cope with no European football at all.Saints are the 5th richest club in britain.

Like man city and many other clubs who make claims like this it is the owners who are stinking rich not the clubs.

West brom outs:

• Joe Mattock (1.7 million once loan finished)(7)(29)Joe mattocks contracts up at end of season but u will get a fee if he signed for someone else as he is under 23 compensation nothing more than 500kClearly not an Albion fan!Very ambitious and would be great but absolutely no chanceIf theres is any deal to be done with Lawerence it would probably be a swap deal with Mattock. Plus Mattock is in the final year of his contract so would not command a fee of 1.7m

leeds to get delph back on loan(8)(22)Never Gunna happen he won't drop down a leagueSome of the drongos at Leeds would rather have Smith back, last seen trying to hit a cows arse with a shovel, missed of course.Seeing as this was reported on SSN, I find it hard to believe how many 'Disagree's' it has got. Are people just jealous that most good, young, English players have a connection to Leeds, or are they just in denial? I suppose it is true though that he might want to join a low-end Premier League side.
wallyI don't think he wanted to leave but Bates wanted the money for the bank balance.

West brom are looking to bring in another three players this January transfer window. I believe that Chris wood going to Bristol city on loan is part of the deal that involves nicky maynard going the other way for £2.5 million. It's just that a transfer takes longer to process than a loan so expect maynard to be at the Hawthorns tomorrow morning discussing personal terms, putting pen to paper and being presented at a press conference tomorrow afternoon
Also, Adam johnson is another potential target from fulham and so is Craig Gardner of Sunderland. However, if west brom were to pursue these players they would both have to be cash plus player Deals but west brom do not want to do that. Other names to be mentioned are Christian Rodriguez, apono, Patrick helmes and Liam Lawrence(7)(12)Andy johnson i guess u meanYou have no chance with Craig Gardner hes going no where

George Elokobi to join Stoke before the window closes

Can he hump the ball the length of the field?

He has a hell of a long throw

Nah, can't see it. At Wolves, his supreme physique and amusing celebrations make him a popular figure. At Stoke, Pulis will make him dive into tackles, rip at opposing players' shirts, stand on top of opposing goalkeepers and con referees, not to mention humping the ball up field. Please don't allow this to happen to him.
wally

You wouldnt want him

We'd only want him if Fergie decides to buy back Shawcross (£10-£12m)(10)(8)Its okay were looking at bigger and better players were in Europe remember.Your qualified for europe by losing a f.a. cup final :s i remeber millwall doing the same! UR A MASSIVE CLUB..... notHaha elokobi is not a prem player but still a legend at wwfc

i am a coventry fan and spoke to a source at the club today who said southampton are pushing the signing of Lukas Jutkiewicz for 1.6m +j forte and want it completed by mid-day tomorrow(14)(10)Seeing as he has agreed terms with Middlesbrough today it looks like another 'phantom' saints signing!Anyone can agree terms, it dont mean they are signing for themHe's definately goin to boroIf CCFC / SISU have any sense they should be holding out for at least £3m + 20% sell on clause and a forward on a season loan from either club£3 million for a striker who doesn't score? Dream on. Boro will probably be paying £750k. When Leicester are signing a real scoring striker for £1.85 million in Billy Sharp, why would anyone pay more for a player who can't score in a relegation team ?A striker who doesn't score ? hes scored 9 this season.. thats more than any of the boro's current strikers ( mcdonald is your best & hes on 7! ) and leicester offered 3.5 mill for sharp.. so thats wrong on both fronts then! oh & the fact that he IS scoring in a relegation team is exactly the reason why there is so much intrest in him.. you know the football is played with a round ball right ?

12 Jan 2012 17:16:39
Wolves to announce sale of Kevin Doyle on Monday. Kenwynne Jones signed with the money. Also Newcastle have bid £3.5m for Christophe Berra. Possibility of either Anton Ferdinand or Jonny Evans on loan to take his place. You heard it here first. Mark my words on these.

Wolfman.(14)(15)Mince, evans is out for the seasonWho is Doyle going to ?I dunnoWhy would anybody in their right minds buy Berra?Ferdinand signed for qpr in summer he woudnt go on loan and load of CRAP) about berra worth more like 350,000I know Doyle has had a lean time of it lately
but I would love to see him up the Baggies
up front with Long.Never gonna happen though.Sunderland are keen on DoyleDoyle wont be going newhere just signed a new deal. thats prob why his not playing that well but still has alot to offer.I don't know we signed Christophe for £2,600,000 and he's certainly worth more than that now. Can't see us selling Doyle although this season he's been useless, but I think he can get a striker lined up (Nicky Maynard for example) we'll let Sylvan E-Fires Blanks go to the Championship.Bullshidd,

Berra is worth more than that, easily our best outfield player this season with Fletcher.

NO, NO, NO to the rest.WTF... Berra aint worth 1 million letalon near on 4... bcks! And... Anton Ferdinand isn't at Sunderland anymore! he signed for QPR in summer haha love the B'llsh't you hear on here!

Southampton in:

8mil + Jason puncheon for Gary Hooper and Kris commons

Also expect Joe Lewis to sign in the window for around 1.25mil(16)(17)Do you honestly think celtic will let their best striker leave now? maybe commons, no chance with hooperUtter nonsenseDream on dreamer!Southampton supporters with more deluded ste. Lennon says only silly money will be required, and that Hooper is wanting to sign extension to current contract
also why would Hooper take a step backwards in his career, if he leaves it will be to an EPL club for around 10 millNot far from the mark on that one !
A.R.TI think i would rather be a deluded saints fan with all the money we have ,than a deluded skate with no money in the bank..
no prospects....
a slapstick ground......
and league 1 football looming after ur points deduction.......
LOLI like celtic, but as far as television concerned and the rest of the world ,you may as well be in the icelandic leagueAre you some sort of person Why would he leave for a club who's bubble has burst. You will be out of the top 3 by the end of this weeks fixtures then only 1 way for you DOWNThere is no way the southampton owners would sanction that kind of reckless spending, they are much more sensible than that.

Probably still best player at his new club!I thought Tommy had been very professional, scoring some goals for QPR. I recollect he scored against his old club Watford helping QPR to secure promotion to the Prem. Why slate him now? and make crass comments about his previous club! are you still hurting from the 1 - 3 dubing they gave you the previous season.Great reply Tommy is the definition of a professional player, shame there aren't more like him. Huddersfield and West Ham have agreed
a fee of £5m for Jordan Rhodes with salary
believed to be £35k a week the only sticking point is add ons. Huddersfield are
expected to use the money to pursue interested in
Jamie Vardy amongst others for a final push
for promotion. Lee CLark has submitted a
list of players he wants when the Jordan Rhodes deal goes through, from a relaible source(12)(17)Not good enough for West Ham and West Ham are not great we know thatLol he is probably on less than 10k so they would only need to offer £15kHe won't go to west ham he'll go to NorwichYor "reliable source" is not very reliable, cos they are WRONG. HUDDS wont sell JORD that cheap.Rhodes not yet proven, but already well above West Ham standardHaha.. A league 1 striker who's worth more than £5mill, dont think so mate, you need to open your eyes to the real world. And too good for West Ham, dont make me laugh. West Ham might not be the best at the minute but were still light years ahead of anything you will EVER achieve, fact. So kiss Rhodes goodbye, along with promotion, because even if he doesn't come to West Ham now, he'll be off somewhere in the summer, leaving you to rot in league one. Enjoy.Well he doesn't sound like a 'appy 'ammer!

West Ham not the best at the minute, were they ever? Isn't there highest ever top tier place 3rd?

Of course Jordan will leave, he will want Premiership sooner than later, and because of that it will be good business for the Town.

HTFC - THE 'Town', first top tier champions three times in a row.

Lee is back in the UK and the OS will officially release the news at 5pm.

In regard to the Hooper saga we put in an improved offer yesterday which was pegged back by Celtic, ive heard between £5.5-6.5 million. It seems that with middlesborough now the front runners for Lukas Jutkiewicz that Southampton will rekindle their interest in Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez.

Expect a winger from the SPL to sign within the next few days. A source from inside the club has told me at least one will sign after Puncheon leaves. We have rejected a bid from Blackpool this week. He hasn't told me specifically bur hinted the potential signing will be Commons from Celtic or Driver from hearts.

Don't expect much else after these as Adkins isn't the sort of manager to sign players left right and centre.

Hi ED, any news on the Riordan to Killie move? seems to be looking positive although I have heard rumours of a last minute swoop from turkey? {Ed001's Note - all I know is they were in talks over a contract.}(3)(4)Riordan can only play in the nation for four months out the year, due to tax reason. And he has used up a month being back in the country.Meaning Kimarnock would need to stump up money to keep him here, money that they dont have. And your right he has a Turkish team after him.He will probably sign for then,so he can keep his tax dodge.Fair play to the lad to.I would not want to pay money on tax,if I could avoid it.Ally

News from north of the border. Update on Scottish Internationals on the move.

Jordan Rhodes to Manchester UTD and to be loaned back to Huddersfield for the remainder of the season. Fee agree for £4 million plus a potential further payment of £1.5 million dependent on appearances over two years.

Stephen Fletcher will not be moving after all in January. This will change come July and Liverpool and Aston Villa are the front runners for his signature.

Kris Boyd will this week sign a 1 and a half year deal with Rangers. Stating that there was only one club he wants to play for.

Allan McGregor will be sold to QPR for around £5 million. and Finally Chris Burke will be sold to Bolton on Thursday next week.

Regards J(7)(28)Utter liesHe wont go for any less than 8 mil and i cant see any club paying that sort of money and then loaning him back risking injuriesRangers have had £7 million bids tabled for McGregor before, and turned them away.So there is no chance,we will be letting him go for £5 million. When he is Scotland number one.And Hearts got £9 million for Craig Gordon. So dream on with that one.And Bolton could have got Burke for free,at the start of the year.If they wanted him,and they never did.Be shocked if they did now.AllyWhat a load of rubbish this is.RHODES will not be goin to MAN U, he's not there kind of player, rite age just wrong level of footballNo chance mcgregor will be sold and esp for 5m more like 10m

Charlton are in talks with Oxford hitman James Constable. Constable has been superb for United since joining Shrewsbury in 2009, and has a number of admirers. It is thought a bid of around £270,000 was accepted late last night.(1)(12)Not so sure about this one - Charlton look set to secure Danny Haynes of Barnsley, so would Constable be necessary? Haynes was also targeted by Millwall, and as a result Josh McQuoid's season long loan move back to AFC Bournemouth has been suspended until Kenny Jackett is happy with his attacking options.

Source: Bmth Daily EchoHe is going to millwall

Zigic stated in the summer he would like a move away from St Andrews but has recently been scoring goals for the Championship outfit and seems happy. The Serbia captain is wanted by his homeland club, of where Zigic started making a name for himself. A return could be on the cards if a fee can be agreed.(14)(8)Sorry, i dont believe this. its true he might not have been as happy as he wouldve liked here, but at the start of the season he said he remained faithful to blues and at the very least wanted to see the season through with us. if he can pick up a goal or two every other game, i think he'll wanna stay with us for another season if we get promoted.

12 Jan 2012 15:36:29
Preston North End have taken released Leeds midfielder Will Hatfield on a month rolling contract. Hatfield has recently been on loan at York and Accrington and has been touted as the next big things to come out of West Yorkshire. Hatfield hasn't lived up to expectations and will try his luck in League 1.(6)(4)No they av notSo NOT the next big thing to come out of West Yorkshire then?Well, the next big things to come out of Yorkshire play for Leeds (Jonny Howson and Tom Lees), Barnsley (Danny Butterfield), Sheffield United (Harry Maguire and Lowton) and Hull (Tom Cairney). Hatfield will more likely sign for Doncaster; the club where all Leeds' rejects end up.
wallyI think he should of got a chance in the 1st team like Thompson seen as we have no midfielders other than Clayton available.

Charlie Taylor is the next best thing out of Leeds, he signed a 3 year deal and looks like he may have a good future at the club

I've seen these rumours about us battling with Swansea for Liam bridcutts signature.
Read it on the news section of the UNofficial Norwich club app.Apparently brendon Rodgers has worked with the youngster before at chelsea youth. so leading the race. And that's all I know.
Any1 ever seen him play before? I've really no idea what he's like.
In lambert we trust. OTBC!!(8)(3)He's a good player young and hungry great player for lambert to buyPoyet rubbishes Bridcutt talk
Brighton and Hove Albion, 16:09, January 12, 2012
Brighton boss Gus Poyet has dismissed reports that Swansea and Norwich have made approaches for midfielder Liam Bridcutt.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Amex Stadium but Poyet described the reports as nothing more than "rumours".
Speaking to the club's official website, Poyet said: "The only way I know about this speculation about Liam Bridcutt is because my son told me.
"He likes to read things [on the internet] and he told me but there is nothing there though. There were rumours about Dunky (Lewis Dunk) in December and now it's Liam.
"There is nothing we can do about that but at the same time we will not panic. We'll remain calm and deal with it in the most professional manner."The fact that poyet has commented at all on this ,means there is probably some truth in the interest. history tells us these things, one to watch i think

12 Jan 2012 15:34:10
There is seemingly a lot of inaccurate speculation on this site, but this really isn't. I can't say exactly who my source is, but they are completely reliable and very close to 1 interested party.

Fulham are willing to let Andy Johnson go in January, and there has been 2 prem clubs who have shown an interest, 1 london based and 1 up north.

But AJ has stated his heart is set on an emotional return to Crystal Palace and regular first team football if the clubs and player can agree terms. Palace have been trying very hard to put together a deal to bring him back to Selhurst.

I was informed Palace inquired about offering a player called Murrey as a make weight part of the deal but Fulham insist upon a cash only permanent deal.(6)(9)These silly rumours need to STOP! Andrew Johnson will never be returning to Crystal Palace F.C and CPFC2010(4 Owners) will not go against what they are doing! We simply cannot afford Andrew Johnson.Martin Jol said on sky sports news that he wants to keep him

12 Jan 2012 15:33:52
Lyon and Newcastle United have made £20 million bids for FC Twente striker Luuk de Jong. De Jong is only 21 years old but already has a one in two goal ratio for the Dutch side after making 56 appearances.(8)(21)Newcastle have no money.I will admit i no nothing about Lyons financial situation or its transfer policy. But i cant state with every confidence it will be a cold day in hell before Mike Ashley shells out 20m for a player... no chance.Lyon are skint. Even if Newcastke had 50 mil to spend, they would not spend 20mil on a playerI reckon he'll move to Liverpool in the summer... if he continues his current form, of course.

The 24-year-old is believed to be undergoing a medical at Hillsborough ahead of securing his switch to South Yorkshire.

Owls boss Gary Megson is keen to bolster his attacking options as he looks maintain his side's bid for promotion and sees Jones as a key addition to his side.(6)(5)Given up on Marshall then?

Talk in Spain is Malaga going after Granero of Real Madrid and Diego Forlan of Inter , I feel Granero would be terrific but Forlan I think is too old as they already have Van Naslehair and Baptista who are knocking on a bit need someone younger. As for exiting La Roselada is Antonio Apono a descent player but a questionable attitude would be a good signing for West Brom tho if the rumours are true.(8)(6)

We have two on loan for the season, Kyle Naughton and Ritchie DeLaet. That is the max you can have so unless they are signed permanently, no more loans. Can only have two anyway!(5)(10)You can have short term ( emergency loans) 1 to 3 months

tommoThats only english loans, can have unlimited loans from abroad.Indeed you can loan from abroad unrestricted. also you can have up to 4 long term loans in a season from England but only 2 at a time. so we could send one back early, then go for someone else.Yes just ask Swansea they are trying to loan a whole team

12 Jan 2012 13:30:36
QPR have put in a £7m bid for Demba Ba.(14)(37)He has a £10mil buyout clauseWhen toon have rated him 17 million poundsHe's playing in the african cup of nations. Can't see him popping back for a quick medical. He'll be a big target for many clubs in summerQpr! he will only go to a bigger club city, man u, chelsea, arsenal, psgIm a westham fan. he has scored more than rooney i see know clubs offering 7mil at least 15 to 20milNo chance at £7m, probably go to a bigger club also. £7m would buy Kenwyne Jones at best!Ba release clause is less than 10m, it doesn't matter if he is worth 15m+ because if a club offer the release clause amount which is about 7m then he can talk to them, so stop quoting he will go for 15m+Yeh he can talk to clubs but why would he go to such a small club like QPR when he could probs go to man u or as i think will happen newcastle will give him a new contract when he gets back from the acon to stop the speculation and ba has already said he wants to stay.

Chelsea will today launch a huge bid to sunderland for there superstar stephane sessegenon. The offer will be £15m plus Paulo Ferriera(9)(32)Haha, sunderland will tell chelsea to go home and actually put in a better offer than thatMaybe not, thats a 9 million profit plus a left sided defender which is needed there, Sess is unsettled and although a good player his final touch isnt greatSess isnt unsettled as says the player himself, and no need for a left sider after the emergence of James McCleanThis is total fodder. Sess is happy on Wearside (fact) its his family who have struggled to settle, hence the fact that they've spent alot of there time in France. Not that we'd want him but do you think Ferreria's family would want to live in the North east? He's a ponce! We sunderland as a club dont need to sell players. we have no debt. sess worth more than 15m on current market. as for ferriera we dont need him. have better at the clubAnd do you not think sess would want to be where his family are ? and we do need a left sided player in defence yes we have a midfielder now but its obvious we need a left back and a striker !Ferreira is a right backSunderland are a selling club e.g 24m for Bent.

He isn't worth £5m!We sold bent 18 months ago because he handed in transfer request we are not in debtI would take that offer deffo,& im a safc season ticket holderSess is happy on Wearside and if that changes, they will agree to play at least until the end of the season.. he is happy to play regular football and why leave now, after magnificent beginning to O'Neill era.. he will not be sold, at least not during January..If they offered 25m sunderland should consider but why would sess go to london when his family can't settle in england? more thought needed, if he goes it will be back to france and it will be in the summer

12 Jan 2012 11:49:00
Once again, cahill will not be leaving everton. leave it out stoke fans.

-----------------------------------------------------
Once again, Cahill is so overrated and we should be looking at better players anyway don't see what all the fuss is about? Apart from the purist getting their knickers in a twist because 'poor old Stoke' can actually compete for the signatures of these sort of players.(11)(6)Ill drive him to Stoke myself. if he isnt scoring(which he hasnt done for along time now) he is useless."poor old stoke" aren't a good team! hahaWhat do Stoke want with a footballer anyway ?Don't Everton need to sell.... Stoke have the money for an old player looks like a good move. Won't happen though..... think Stoke looking for more youthful midfielders (if any)

La Liga side Atheltic Bilbao, are set to sign Arsenal defender Ignasi Miquel on loan. The 19 year old is keen to move out on loan in order to get more first team football and will return to his native Spain until the end of the season.(7)(7)He's said today he would like to go to a championship club to gain more expereince of english football. but dependant on injury crisis at arsenalWith Arsenals current defensive crisis I seriously doubt this is true.

Jordan Rhodes very interested in moving to
hammers. West ham have had a bid accepted by
Huddersfiled however they want more cash
up front and add ons need to be discussed.
Jimmy Kebe also expected to join hammers
soon once personal termas are agreed. Fred
Picquionne interesting Wolves and may be alloowed
to leave for the right price(22)(20)Kebe and Rhodes are both ambitious and have real potential. They'll both go to a Premiership team for proper career development, rather than months on the physio's table at West HamAll u hammers fans finally need to realise rhodes is bigger than you....So in what way does this mean a bid is accepted. how can it be accepted if they need to agree add ons (part of the bid) and they want more upfront?Wolves dont want him1> West Ham are a huge club and even though Jordan Rhodes is a fantastic player, he is certainly not bigger than a club

2> West Ham have developed some of the greatest players in the prem, fact

3> If your going to comment try and engage your brain before you write such nonsenseWovles can have him for free hes been a let this season

Swansea City have made an undisclosed bid for Coventry striker Lukas Jutkiewicz. The 22 year old has been superb for the struggling Championship side this season and City could sign the former Everton youngster in the next 24 hours.(7)(14)I wonder if its maynard as bristol city has just added chris wood to there strikeforceSet to sign for middlesbrough today
source:SSNNo, they believe a fee has been agreed. doesnt imply he will sign today at all. This happens every year. Nothing is set in stone until its announced. He may still opt to compare offers.

Tottenham are very keen on signing Crystal Palace attacker Wilfred Zaha. The young forward is being courted by a number of Premier League sides and it is expected Harry Redknapp will make a £8 million bid for the England under 19 striker.(13)(17)Unlikely cause both manchster clubs and chelsea are after him as managers want players for the futureEm.. i'm pretty sure when asked Redknapp said 'i've never even heard of him' so why would he waste £8m on a player he hasn't even watched? you can get some classy players abroad for that sort of money...

Once Pompey's new owners are in place, which should be by the end of next week, Michael Appleton will complete the following transfers.

Luciano Becchio (Leeds) 1.2 million
Joe Mattock (WBA) Loan end of season
Simon Cox (WBA) 2 million
Matt Phillips (Blackpool) 1.8 million
Gary O'Neil (West Ham) 1.5 million
Also a rumour that club have spoken to Chelsea about a loan for one of there fringe players but to be honest i have been hearing that from when we played them in a pre season freindly, so not to sure about it.

Leaving Portsmouth

Liam Lawrence (WBA/Fullham?)
Tal Ben-Haim
Hermann Hreidarsson
Kanu(6)(37)What about the 10 points when you getting them?Lol, thank you for the daily doce of laughter...firstly, its looking slim that you will have an owner by the end of the month, let alone this week. Also, making ALL those signings is ridiculous, your in this position because everytime you get an owner you splash cash. No way you could go and make these signings, especially with so low estimations. For example, M Phillips would be much much more than that..Why would we get 10 points, we have done nothing wrong, do your research mate.If this Portsmouth fan listens very carefully....he can hear people laughing at him all over the UK.Becchio is 1 year into a 4 year deal 1.5 million wouldn't sign his bootsWho's tax is not going to get paid to be able to buy any players.....the nation looses again to keep this ship from sinking.who has sent someone a brown envelope for xmasYou will be lucky to get away with just a ten point deduction , look at leeds that time wasnt it 17 and you as a club are a disgrace the way its been run for the last few years !What you lot going on about, our parent company Convers Sports Initiatives went into admin, and has no direct connection to the club.

The club runs on it own accord, which is why no points have been deducted and will not be deducted. I am hearing new owner will be in place by the end of next week.

As for signing i have not heard any news other then Mattock and Thorne which is been well documented anyway.

As a Pompey fan it feels different this time, the good time are definetly back and i feel mistakes would of been learnt.

PUP PPUShould b more than 10 points that's what happened at Leeds. If u escape with no points deduction the u would b the most hated team on the planet and Leeds Luton saints bournemouth could all go 2 court against the football league. PFC should have a transfer embargo until ALL debts r paid off not just 1p in the £!!!Oneil is a good player but id say 2milHa ha ha ha ha ha, skate muppet!Ian Holloway has said that he would only consider an offer for M. Phillips if it was from one on the top six teams in the Premier league and there are rumours that some teams have bid up to 3 mil so 1.8 is too low let alone the fact it is Pompey

Nicola Cortese currently finalising a deal to bring Nathaniel Clyne to St Marys. Danny Butterfield or Frazer Richardson offered as part of the deal.(3)(14)You talk rubbishFrazer Richardson ? don't think so he has been great for us so far this season ...Richardson wouldnt be offered as part of the deal. He's been class this season, being a huge part in creating goals and chances.Seriously? Are you watching the same player!? Butterfield creates more chances with better quality crosses!Highest number of assists in The Chamionship? That's right, Richardson with 9. Button it.Agree Frazer Rischardson has been one of our best players this season. Also Butterfield has been solid in the few games he has played.Saints fans often talk rubbish im a saints myself let adkins to the work you lot shh in adkins we trust

Albert Adomah of Bristol City seen as the final piece of the jigsaw for Nigel Adkin's Saints team. Expect the signing to be unveiled alongside Tadanari Lee before the next home game against Forest.(7)(20)IF Bristol City were prepared to sell Albert Adomah they would demand a fee in excess of that they turned down from Leicester for Maynard. The board are also aware that by cashing in on Albert it would seriously affect the number of season tickets they would expect to sell, especially the "early Bird" offers that will start next month. I'm not saying that S'ton couldn't afford the asking price and I accept that they will most likely gain promotion but given the fact we will lose one iconic player either this month or at the end of the season the board are unlikely to want to upset the fans too much by selling another icon who has 30 months left on his contract. Adkins may see Albert as his final puzzle piece but wanting a player and getting him are 2 different things unless you are prepared to splash mega cash.I would like this to be true, but we won't pay what BC wantIt will cost you a fair bit to get him? can't you take maynard insteadSaints wont get him the palyer himself will be looking for a prem club. The fan that said cashing in on him would seriously affect the sell of season tickets, sorry to say so will getting relagated to league 1, it looks like you are going to loose Maynard on a free in the summer. I think if the right money was offered i think the club would sell in an instant and if they both go in this window i think you are in serious trouble. It would be a bit weird if Nigel Adkins unveiled two new sigings at the Forest game. Seeing as it's at The City Ground. How much would kenny miller cost.rather get himWe turned down 6 million for maynard in aug and thats for a player with 12 months on his contract,
How much do you think will turn our heads for a player who's contracted until 2015As a Scunthorpe united supporter Soton fans must get used to Adkins not knowing a good player when he sees one.He will buy players he has worked with as a physio otherwise his buys will be rubbish

12 Jan 2012 10:32:29

EVERTON have excepted 8.5m for tim cahill from STOKE CITY . {Ed025's Note - if he goes...it will be to a footballing club..(6)(25)Wheres the like button! XDIf he is available and at that price, Fergie would be signing him.WE ARE HIGHER UP THE LEAGUE THAN EVERTONIts spelt "accepted". does prove that the fans posting this stupid rumour dont have a clue.If any players goes to any club its because they offer him more money and a longer contract we all no this ..everton need 20m to stop the bank from taking action ..so sell sell sell evertonCahill will not go to stoke . ever.Congratulations Ed025. Brilliant.Stoke are beginning to get the ball down and play, i think Ed025 you're being a little harsh, maybe they fancy a change? i don't see why but they have begun to pass it around abit then houth it up the pitch, working wonders, but it'll only ever get them 7th or 8th highest...Hey Ed- there is enough idiots putting silly remarks on here without you putting yours ! Show respect for what Stoke have achieved in the last 4 years. You probably support Everton ! {Ed001's Note - he does, no one else still thinks Everton play good football under Moyes!}

12 Jan 2012 10:29:30
Can anyone tell me how Kompanys tackle warranted a red card but Glenn Johnsons last night didn't even get a free kick?(16)(7)Yeah, Rooney wasn't there to help the ref make his decision last night!Refs are inconsistent which is why fans, managers etc get angry with them. The johnson challenge to me was like the de jong tackle vs Man Utd which also went unpunished as there was hardly no run towards the attacker whereas kompany ran towards nani and i believe it was rooney who got him sent off

I dont think any of them were reds to be honest and the johnson incident happened near the end of the game so i doubt it would have made a difference

The Dark KnightI agree with you that Kompany should not of been sent of but i do think they were different. Johnston all though he jumped with 2 feet he was in front of the player and got to the ball first and did not come through the player after winning the ball. Kompany was face on and yes he did get the ball but went through the player with his mementon. Dont get me wrong i am not defending Johnston nor am i a Liverpool fan its just my opinion. All the ref had to do was look at Nani's reaction, how refreshing was it to see a foreign player that in the past would of rolled around for 10 minutes until the player was Carded, instead he got straight up and got on with it, i think the ref would of also got on with it if it was not for Rooney having a moan. Also one more thing i have no interest in any club involved, infact my club are in the Championship. I grew up when Dalglish was a player and a fantastic on at that but when did he become such a PK not just the takle but the way he is conducting himself as a person in general. Liverpool Fc has always been a well respected club but his attitude is slowly changing that.Glen johnsons tackle was a proper tackle! all these city players on £150,000 a week are all babies! MAN UP! the fans of liverpool love to see tackles like that, especially me!Typical refs inconsistant as wolvesHavnt you lot heard about the new Ref Liverpool signed in this window?I personally think neither of the tackles deserve red cards. I understand the whole dangerous tackles thing, but football is soon going to be though of as a non-contact sport. If it's a strong, fair challenge in which they get the ball, then I personally do not think it warrants a red card. But saying this, in the rules in football at the moment, Johnson's was a red card, and I still don't think Kompany's was.

You Norwich boys n girls ! make the most of it, your doing well, you have a decent manager who will be poached by a big club if he keeps you up and then it will be back to normal for you ! looking at what might have been !(13)(11)If, or more likely when, Lambert moves to one of the top 6 we have the right people in charge at Norwich (McNally and Bowkett) to find and appoint the next Paul Lambert. They are first and foremost Football people, which a strong and proven business sense. We are not run like the Norwich of old (or Ipswich of today) and will appoint someone capable of carrying on the remarkable work that Lambert has begun.I don't know who you support but, Norwich are playing good football, sit 9th in the Premiership, having a good time & if we don't stay up - we will have given it our best shot.

So all i'm saying is OTBC!Suffolk dope talking s tDecent Manager, decent man, it will be some time before Lambert makes a move anywhere else. Let Norwich enjoy their sucesses in the Premiership and I'm not even a fan.So says a member of the London Overspill who's soon to be League 1 club reside at Portaloo Road.Get in the real world, if you achieve sucess at a small club which in the mix of things you are, the big boys take notice and Lambert and any players who do well will go ! Money talks !!Norwich are just a stepping stone for Lambert.Lambert loves it at Norwich, and i do not think he will leave until he thinks Norwich are set to stay in the Premier League for a long time. Obviously, if one of the top 6 comes in for him, then he may well leave. But at the end of the day, we have good owners, who will search around, and not rush into any decisions when we do need a new manager, and will only sign someone who is right for the job. I believe we can keep our club's premier league status for a long time to come. Just another Ipswich fan who cannot accept we are better than them. (just waiting for the history comments from most of the Ipswich fans that live in the past now)Gerard, has got one hell of a nerve, say city tryed to get johnson sent of, or has he fogoted that lovely bit of acting that go rodwell sent off, the only ones guilty of hypocrisy are liverpool, as per usual.

How many points will the football
league finally dock portsmouth football
club today ? im going for at least 15
maybe more after whats happened to
previous clubs in the past ie leeds ,
southampton , and poor old luton town(19)(6)Why are they getting it today?None. The club isn't in administration, the parent company is. The parent company had lots of things it was attached to and Pompey were only a small part of it. Southampton were docked 10 points because it's parent company went into admin too, but the difference was that the parent company was 100% to do with Southampton FCPortsmouth are not in administration their owners are, Androniku came out and said we would not be docked points and the football league agreed so none?

12 Jan 2012 10:21:34
Southampton Football Club;
we all know that were getting promoted
no matter what this season...
But, we need to boost our squad options
by signing;
A centre back - Berra? Kilgallon?
Bamba? Bramble? Someone experienced.
A Playmaker - Lewis Mcgugan?
Jason Koumas? Graeme Dorrans?
Tchoyi?
A winger - Andrew Driver?
Kris Commons? Wilfred Zaha?
A striker? Tadanari Lee (OBVIOUSLY)
Gary Hooper? Jordan Rhodes?(12)(28)Sorry, but im a saints fan, and THAT is ambitious. No way we could attract 70% of them....Rhodes is prem standard, so would go there if he was even leaving at all, which i think he wont, and im glad. He will do well to stay and grow at huddersfield (who are a pretty good team), Zaha..just lol, top half prem team easily. But i like the ambition :PI'm a saints fan but that won't happen Lee-yes Hooper-possible Rhodes-wtf !I thought there was a league and the top 2 teams went up then there were playoffs did not realise you guys got auto promotion.
Surely I'm not the only one getting annoyed with stupid southhampton fans thinking they are the best team in the world because they had a good start to the seasonTchoyi is not a playmaker, nobody knows what he is, not even himself. He's definitely a handful! We do not no that we are going up. long way ta go yet m8No chance of u getting hooper at all! And there still half a season to go so u could still muck up! even though i have u backed to get promoted from the start. Are people really that gulable, do fans not think maybe a smelly skate posted this to try and get a reaction which has clearly worked. First of all no real propper Saints fan thinks we are already promoted, the realistic fan knows there is still half the season to go and it is going to be gard to stay in top six let alone win the league, Adkins is after certain players but it is very rare since he has been at the club for him to reveal any of his targets until the deal has been done. He has made it clear we are after a striker which looks like he has got in Lee, and maybe a centre back. So unless he says otherwise i would imagine thats it for this window. No chance with HOOPERBoth killgallon and berra are playing first team PREMIER LEAGUE football atm no way would they go to soton

12 Jan 2012 10:10:29
Alan Smith rumoured to take a wage cut and rejoin Leeds on a 1 year deal(21)(14)The Leeds fans I know hate Alan Smith, will they forget about hime going to their 'rivals' United?
Hope he goes to Leeds, I will be able to take the pss!1yr deal if taking a decent pay cut I'd say yes to that but then I'm one of the crazy ones on here who's always asking whats happening with Smith lolNot a leeds fan but i have heard that the
Smith you want to sign is,nt alan but a young full back from spurs called adamSmithy will only play with a red shirt on, as he LOVES Leeds! The guy above is right, the Smith we're signing is Tottenham's Adam, and just as well, because he can play right-back. Though I would personally welcome Smudger back, I'm sick of us signing has-beens on short deals. If we can secure O'Dea and Delph on loan, perhaps with a few bids here and there for strikers, then that will be a good January for Leeds. However, many of these moves needed to have been made over the summer.
Oh, and if we sign Kris Boyd, I will die. He is basically Beckford. We need another lazy, unfit striker like we need a hole in Snoddy's head.
wally

Millwall have put a formal bid in for Jamie Spencer of Cheltenham Town. The bid is expected to be £250,000.(2)(3)Jamie Spencer of Cheltenham Town is a huddersfield town player he is on loan at cheltenham till end of seasonHe plays for Huddersfield you muppet and as far as I'm aware will not be leaving, especially when we don't know if Jordan Rhodes is staying.
Spencer is a good prospect and will benefit from his loan at Cheltenham, who ar doing well this seasonJamie is on loan at Cheltenham from Huddersfield Town, and as we have just turned down a six figure sum form an un-named club. he won't be going anywhere.Spencer will be playing for hudds next season in championship, where millwall willbe in league 1!He is on load from Huddersfield who have rejected the bid

Unless you've got that see you later.£8m to Celtic - ha ha ha ha haIf he worth 8-10 mil for not playing or scoring in the top 2 leagues makes Andy Carol look like a bargainOh behave! West HamWatched the game with 2 Liverpool fans last night. I think Carroll's locks are sexy, I would give him one myself like. I'd give myself a groin injury spending an hour with him.Fair play all this hype about Rhoades, He plays in league one for fk sake 10mil to a prem club my ass. Put him up against world class defenders and tell me will he bang them in just as easy I don't think so. Put a 10mil striker from the prem in league one and watch him score for fun. I've seen sunday football teams player better than half the teams in league 1.This is true i saw him at the stadium today

Tottenham scouts have been in russia checking out cska pairing wagner love and doumbia as spurs try to bulk up their forward line. Both forwards are valued at around 25m but doumbia seems to be the better option. Spurs are also looking at newcastle shot stopper tim krul as a long term replacment. Blackburns samba is also a target after harry failed with a late bid for cahill of bolton.(10)(11)Vagner Love is not the player he was but on a loan till the end of the season might not be bad.Knows where the net is and Arry might just be able to give him a hug and make him better.Better ,stronger faster. They will have sell modric first ..harrys been told sell b4 u can buyWhen were they in russia ?? because there season ended in november .. lolThere is a link in the papers of Niko so maybe something could be done with Niko going and us getting ???.There is no football played in Russia at this time of the year, so when was this?Is there anybody spuds arent after?

Hooper looks to be on his way to saints with Southampton ready to make a big bid around 6mil, sharp move to leicester is stalling because he is being gready with his wages and albert Adomah is the main target to fill the gap on the wing(11)(26)Albert Adomah will not be leaving Bristol City, this is also rubbish, your head must be twisted hahaWhen are deluded Southampton fans going to get the message you have zero chance of signing Gary Hooper. The guy has said he loves life in Glasgow and wants to extend his contract - how that translates into "i want to leave for Southampton" i have no idea! I dont mean to be rude but the only players Southampton could possibly sign from Celtic are fringe players like Jos Hooiveld who couldnt get anywhere near the first team. This story isnt even getting a mention in the Scottish press because its a total fabrication - stop making mugs of yourself!Hooper is a good striker with a great record at celtic, why would he leave now when he will win silverware at celtic this season, only way i can see him leaving in Jan is if a prem club with a european football makes a big bid, celtic are in a poor league but much bigger than southampton and a lot of prem league clubs

and thats from an newcastle fan so no scottish bias hereA colleague I work with (who supports Celtic) said "if Hooper's not scoring then he isn't do much else!"

If thats the case then seems to me he's not the sort of player Southampton really need anyway!

Tadanari Lee flying in from Japan to sign contract today. Papaers wil be finalised early next week making him avaialbale for his debut against Leicester.(12)(10)He has been training with saints for the last week and a half as well as watching the coventry game the weekend get it right or just don't botherIf you read recent posts on the OS then you'd know he was here, and then had to fly back to Japan since the Coventry game. He will be back in UK once paperwork finalized with British embassy in Japan.Love the idiots that moan about someone not gettin their facts right, when they themselves are the ones in the wrong!I love how no-one's ever heard of this guy, and suddenly every Saint is banging on about him like he's the Messiah. And you STILL haven't completed the signing. God, at least when Leeds sign nobodies, they are drafted in quickly.

Sup Ed. Will anyone sign for Norwich in this transfer window cos some of the rumours on here are utter rubbish - from a Norwich fan

Should suit you then as Norwich are utter rubbish.

--

Your comment says alot about the rest of English football seeing as we are currently the 9th best team in the country... Explain that.....(if you can?)(9)(6)You are right it does say a lot and, no you are the 3rd best team of a poor set of teams that can't get close to the other 6 and really ought not be playing them.

European League must come soon - please!I think he (or possibly she, i'm no Paul Jewell) has simply spelt Superb wrong.I'm a Norwich fan, some of the post on here have been rubbish.
Nobody know what player's Lambert is after, how do we know that behind the scene Lambert (maybe or not) talking to a few player's about joining us.
I think all we can do is wait before before anyone jumps the gun.
All i deal is in FACTS.

So please fellow Norwich fans - STOP - posting utter rubbish!Yea u been lucky so far this season with Norwich trust me u will be going down by the end of this season fact!!!If Norwich are UTTER RUBBISH, how come they sit in 9th place in the prem & playing good football.

From a Man U fanWhat do people have against Norwich? I dont even support them and It winds me up the amount of idiots on here that just post to put other teams down. Grow up childrenTo the guy who thinks we have been lucky and will be down by the end of the season, can you please explain your reasoning behind your comment? Tell me where we have been lucky, as (bar the joey barton incident) i think we have generally been unlucky (2 of the penalties given in the first 5 games were 100% not penalties for example). We have played open, expansive football when we can, and tightened up and battled against others. Lambert is proving to be one of the best tacticians in the league and that is why we are where we are. 11-13 points from 18 games will keep us up, thats half what we managed in the first 20 games. If you think we will go down you are mistaken, we have strength in our squad unlike Blackpool and Hull when in similar positions. We rotate regularly rather than playing the same players week in week out like the aforementioned pair. I see no reason why we cannot sustain the current top 10 position and finish well above our pre season expectations.

RANT OVER OTBC!Nothing against Norwich but Blackpool were top of the league at one point last season, playing good football and still got relegated!Yeah, hope it's not true that Norwich want Bridcutt from Brighton. We have holding midfielders. I think Lewis McGugan would give us something different. Power and a goal threat. And he's only early Twenties and the genius Paul Lambert could get the best out of him, in which case he'd be pure quality. If reports are correct and Forest only want 1.5million for him, well what are we waiting for??Blackpool went off like a rocket and gradually slipped down the table. Norwich have been improving and steadily climbing further away from the relegation places as the season has progressed. We have more depth in our squad and a manager more tactically able in charge. We have also only just got our first choice center half pairing together for the first time this season due to injury and are already looking more stable at the back. Expect one or 2 clean sheets in the near future and a reduction in the number of goals conceeded in the 2nd half of the season if they both (Ayala and Whitbread) stay fit.

Ipswich are about to sign Matt Ritchie from Swindon Town after having a bid of 750k and ronan Murray accepted.(13)(18)

12 Jan 2012 07:48:18
Mark Hughes is set to sign six players in the next 10 days as he tries to to take his new club QPR, away from the relegation zone.
Nicky Shorey is in talks with Rangers after a £3 million bid was accepted last night. The former England left back currently plays for West Brom and Hughes is keen to make the left sided full back his priority.
Another defender set to move to Loftus Road is Chris Smalling. Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson, is keen for the England defender to move out on loan and and could join QPR until the end of the season.
German youngster Christopher Buchtmann, who is wanted by a number of Premier League sides, will join QPR until the end of the season from FC Koln, with a view to a full time deal in the summer.
22 year old striker Stefano Okaka, is in talks with Hughes, after his club Roma had a £4 million bid accepted from the London side.
Another striker set to speak to Hughes is former Chelsea and Tottenham player Eidur Gudjohnsen. The Icelandic attacker is currently playing for AEK Athens but is available to speak to clubs about summer move, with his contract set to run out. The Greek club are also expected to listen to offers of around £500,000.
The third and final attacker to join QPR this month is Chelsea youngster Gael Kakuta. The young French midfielder will sign on loan until the end of the season.(2)(39)United need defenders , so why loan one out ?He can try signe any1 he wants ..no1 will want go to a side that will go down this seasonWe've already got one oan from an English club, so we won't be getting two more.Nicky Shorey - Possible
Smalling - What are you smoking??
Bucktmann - Dont know anything about him
Okaka - ste at Fulham, never been prolific, overrated and probably suit QPR.
Gudjohnson - Old, past it, cant cut it any more, realistic but wont do anything.
Kakuta - Joined Dijon on loan yesterday so obvious bcks. Throws doubt over all of your "info" doesnt it?Why have you made this list up? Smalling is an England International and in United's best starting XI even with everyone fit, which they are not. So why did you do this, you make this site look bad!As a QPR fan I have heard a load of sh!t flying about but this is the worse by far, stick to the more believeable stuff like Alex, Bassong and if I'm dreaming a bit Samba (there is still the belief he might sign for the bloke who brought him to England, yeah I can dream)Oh come on if you're gonna talk about eidur gudjohnson atleast say ex chelsea and barcelona player he hardly played for spurs in think it was like 10 games on loan...Who would pay 3m for shorey

12 Jan 2012 07:32:26
Wales are keen to talk to Coventry manager Andy Thorn. Thorn is wanted by the national side as the Welsh FA believes his superb coaching skills have been overshadowed by his poor signings and day in, day out coaching.(2)(16)

12 Jan 2012 07:24:43

Southampton are all set to sign tadanari Lee after a work Permit appeal was accepted

"Although Lee did not meet the initial criteria to gain a work permit, his case has been approved by the football authorities, who agreed that the international star is an exceptional talent that will enhance the game in this country"

Lee will now fly to England and complete his move to the Saints

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Already in england training with southampton. bull plop bit of hype.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lee had flown back to Japan while waiting for the permit application to go through. On his way back now to seal the deal!(7)(11)Mate he went back to Japan for a few days!Didnt know the FOOTBALL AUTHORITIES now control imigration and work permits.

dont you mean the home office you titHow is that bull plop when its on the OS?Don't think so, although i know the work permit has been accepted just theres no need to add that other bit on.The home office rejected the original appeal. But the FA helped approve the deal by saying he's an exceptional talent that will enhance the sport in this country for year too come.

Just read the article on the Saints OS before you start moaning

12 Jan 2012 07:04:26
reported that tottenham will be signing 3 players in the window a goal keeper defender and forward with the possability of 1 more signing of a loan for beckham again but cant see that 1 happening also reports that none of the first 11 will be going anywere(3)(11)Beckham to sign on loan from who? didn't know that "free agent" was a team!Trying to win the league with loan signings! Buy your own players! Why on earth would spurs sign a keeper in january.. maybe in the summer.. mate i'm a spurs fan and i know you made that up!!

12 Jan 2012 06:27:29
Barnsley to sign young winger Cristian Tello from Barcelona on a loan until the end of the season.

Tello has been starring for the B team and also in the Spanish U20 and Guardiola wants the youngster to gain some first team experience in a more competitive and physical league.(7)(11)

12 Jan 2012 06:25:35
Coventry to sign 20 year old Alex Nimely from man city
On-loan till the end of the season by the weekend(4)(7)

12 Jan 2012 04:19:28
Vince Wolanin and Brian Howe are close to sealing a bid to buy Portsmouth.(1)(9)Why is it that these two always get brought up? If they had the money they would have brought the club instead of Milan.I am friends with Howe on Facebook (yes, it's actually him). He has posted that despite trying to bid for the club, with a sound financial package , he has not made the final shoot-out to purchase the club. So your rumour has no truth in it at all. PUP.

The reason the Sharp to LCFC transfer has not gone through is because Sharp is demanding terms and wages that far exceed LCFC's offer

LCFC have offered Sharp 28k p/w
Sharp wants in excess of 45k p/w

Leicester have decided against continuing negotiation and moved on to alternative targets. With the other potential suitors (West Ham, Leeds and Southampton) baulking at these demands back in the summer Sharp will remain a Doncaster player until the summer.(19)(22)I have mentioned it before on here, these players think they are better then they really are. Saints had a bid accepted back in July only to not agree personal terms with the player because of his high wage demands. However that seems to be English/British players for you, which is why Saints have gone abroad to buy.Southampton aren't interested. This is the exact reason Saints didn't sign him in the summerBoth leicester and southampton are able to bring in a much higher calibre of player for the kind of wages hes demanding, especially since he is a championship striker at best, he should go to a championship pub team like ipswichI don't believe for one minute that those are sharps wage demands.
He just didn't want to join your clubs.Absolute nonsense!!Absolute rubbish! it has nothing to do with his wage demands! he turned down offers in the summer because he didnt want to move down south! he is happy here at Donny. He is not demanding £45k, he's not that type of player. He could of moved to Birnley in the summer for atleast double what hes on now. If he moves it to further his career, money is always second to that. He's not agreed terms because he will be waiting to see what offers come available to him. He wants to play in the prem, LCFC will not be in the prem next season so hes waiting. Hes also not gonna be guarenteed to play every game like he is here, he will join the club behind Nugent and Beckford in the pecking order. £45k a week what a load of complete rubbish! If nothing better comes along he will take up the contract offer at Donny. He loves it here, if we go down he will move on in the summer. If a top champ side or prem team he will leave this monthThe reason sharp hasnt singed is cos he wants to play in the premier league, and with lecister he will be in championship nxt season! so no point him leaving donny!Well better in the championship with Leicester than in league 1 with donny!

Crawley Town want to sign 4 players this January.

Reds boss Steve Evans is looking to conclude deals for ex-loan winger Andy Drury from Ipswich, Grimsby Town forward Liam Hearn, utility man Bilel Mohsni from Southend and finally Leyton Orient wideman Dean Cox. These transfers will be completed within the next two weeks.

Leaving the Broadfield Stadium will be John Akinde who will be loaned to Hereford United, Ben Smith who is interesting Blue Square Premier side Braintree Town and Glenn Wilson is another Red that could move down the football pyramid with Ebbsfleet United looking to sign the right back.(0)(12)Ebbsfleet will not be siging anyone as we're skintAnd Andy Drury will go to Crawley but Matt Tubbs going the other wayDrury is correct. The rest is a load of rubbish. Only one of two of Evans's signing has ever got out either with Boston or Crawley. Him and Raynor keep things very close to their chest.

Do your trolling somewhere else.

southampton set to sign hooper plus a winger any info on this cheerz ?(15)(25)Hooper won't joinI'll be absolutely astonished if Saints make any major signings in this or any other window, Cortese is the most tight fisted chairman in the Football League. Look at his record not one big money signing to date.
How any Saints fans suppose that Cortese will meet their expectations baffles me the man does not spend money.
He is so desperate to keep his attitude quiet as to the transfer market that all of his signings are for undisclosed fees. Now what does that tell you ?
As a Saints fan I'm really worried that Cortese will not fund the players needed to get us promotion. we have no forwards apart from lambert and Guly who is a make shift forward at best.Comolly is almost always crocked and 35 anyway and Doble isnt rated.
Saints have serious squad problems all caused by underspending Lee is a cut price buy amd a gamble Hooveld likewise has proved not to cut it at Championship level.
Cheap does not get promotion Cortese stop kidding the fans as you have been for the last two years.Surely nigel adkins and cortese have had since the last transfer window to work out who they need why after near two weeks of this window have nt they bought players in no wonder people are saying their rich as they do nt spend as i said a few days ago they might regret it come april

12 Jan 2012 01:27:42
Kightly will deffo not be going to us, he is a premier league player in the making, and Wolves speak highly of him. The most, we could get him back in loan, as he had a decent spell with us...(12)(3)Don't rate him that highly mate. Championship at best prob lge 1Kightly was brilliant before his injuries and now is coming back on good form'Don't rate him that highly mate. Championship at best prob lge 1'

Get a grip!If kightly is premier league he wont be at the
wolves much longer then.

Is there any news on Leeds signing a decent defender really don't think st ledger the right man from what I've read could be a bit of a trouble causer, we really have to get it right this time not leave it to the last minute or i fear for the rest of the season and Grayson

Andiroo(8)(7)St Ledger plays centre back for the Irish national team. So he can't be that bad.I have heard Grayson is going into the chase for Adam Smith a defender

12 Jan 2012 00:51:24
Birmingham City 'keeper Colin Doyle
is a target for Bristol City.(7)(13)Wrong keeper... We want butland! No chance!!!

Ryan Lowe is said to favour a loan move back to Bury FC where he was a fan favourite(5)(11)Whatever he's already a legend at SWFC and wouldn't go back to a small club.

Micahel Uchebo to Stoke officially from VVV-Venlo in the Eeridivese for 1 million pounds guarenteed only thing stopping him from joining right now is his work permit and when he does come to Stoke he will officially be the tallest player in english football (6 foot 8 inches and a half). Tony Pulis loves signing bulky strikers doesn't he! And Tim Cahill from Everton for 8.5 million pounds and Junior Hoilett from Blackburn for 8 million pounds and Jermaine Pennant going other way for 5 million pounds and Fillipo Inzaghi from AC Milan on a free transfer. Tony Pulis has been busy this transfer window hasn't he!(7)(18)Don't talk sT mate, Uchebo deal is NOT finalized, there actually is a problem with the work permit, hes flying home today, so the only person that knows is him and pulis, cahil WILL NOT sign for stoke this window, stoke don't have millions and millions to spend, Jones could possible leave, along with fuller. Pennant isn't going this window but will go in the summer, Hoilets as good as a liverpool player, Stoke will sign Steven Nzonzi though, but expect it too be a quite window for stoke. (p.s im a stoke fan and would love to see cahill and hoilett come to stoke as they are missing a creative midfielder, but its just not going to happen this window)I think it's possible Pulis has inquired about each of these players but he'll sign 2 at most, maybe none at all this windowOnce again, cahill will not be leaving everton. leave it out stoke fans.Cahill will be a stoke player soonDo you not read the post he says the only thing stopping the deal is the work permit so everything else is agreed the personall terms and the bid this coming from a reliable source and evertonians seem to be forgetting your chairmen wants all the money you get from players doesnt want to buy anyone cahill was going to go stoke but mikel arteta went to arsenal which stopped this last minute so will the everton fans actually realise youve been selling you best players for a number of yours and this will carry on until your chairmen decides he has enough money and walks offLove the way stoke fans are now starting to beleive lies that they thought of themselves. "cahill was going to go stoke but mikel arteta went to arsenal which stopped this last minute"....got any proof?8.5 mill for Cahill, ill drive him to Stoke myself.HEY! Iwrote this comment and it's true check sky sports news only work permits! OK I'm not sure about the other two that's just speculation but Uchebo is definatley going to Stoke City in the January transfer window! DONE DEAL!

dirk kuyt is on his way out of liverpoll

Newcastle and liverpool

is unlikely to move before
the end of the season although
said he would love to play
in england can u see this ed {Ed001's Note - that is why interest has cooled in him, he has a good chance of making Holland's squad for the Euros and doesn't want to jeopardise his place. Though he would have moved if the managerial change hadn't happened.}(7)(2)

12 Jan 2012 00:11:56
chelsea could pull thr plug on the
